Some f1 fans cannot handle being reminded that this is a competitive sport, not daycare. Sometimes people have to do things that will hurt a driver’s feelings, seem unfair, or piss off other competitors when there’s points and millions of dollars on the line. You can still be disappointed and upset without acting like the decision made on objectively sound sporting reasons requires a trip to the hague. If you cannot handle that this sport is not actually hair braiding and gentle parenting when push comes to shove, you might enjoy another hobby better.
#some of these takes just have me rolling my eyes#i may dislike mclaren for some general things that went down with daniel#but daniel did not perform and they were 100% right to drop him and there is no world in which they were wrong in making that choice#sucks that nyck didnt get a full season but he ran his mouth about not wanting to be treated like a rookie and got rightfully dropped#when drivers do things that seem scummy but are legal … you can be like ‘ugh i hate that’ without saying they deserve a penalty for it#it’s very sad for logan that he can’t drive because of alex’s mistakes#but also. he’s not out for this weekend just because of alex’s mistakes#he’s not driving because he put out a season and two races worth of performances#showing why they shouldn’t trust him more than the man who crashed. and that is on logan#williams is 100% right for putting alex in there. it sucks for logan for SURE and i feel bad for him#but they’re right#no one says you cant be UPSET with the decision but you cannot pretend its wrong#*

Actually so evil of bg3 to have the emperor be referred to with it/its pronouns only to do the big reveal and make it a him again
#Not genuinely evil i am being dramatic etc. But sad to me#I do just hate the whole emperor reveal so much tho. He was a more interesting character before that#I still wasn't super compelled by it but thats ok. However. Ugh#In general the way bg3 does pronouns is not ideal imo like this is still a lot better than most games do it#But the fact that there is a they them option and no npc uses it#Only characters with non he/she pronouns are the two mindflayers (afaik?)#Its something for sure. to be honest as someone whose been a fan since the start and eventually finding myself wanting to keep my affection for twst as alive as possible for as long as I could, I've definitely branched out to stripping down other characters outside my main three. I feel like I can't get this type of fulfillment if twst didn't have the specific story format that's used in live service games even if I'm not that fond of the gacha game model. I don't know about twst's roadmap but I would kind of prefer it if it ended as soon as it's narrative has a reasonable ending (aka the end of Book 7).
#I would rather it not stretch itself thin with its story that would make me very sad#Like I'd rather it not evolve into something ingenuine and to be honest it's had some hiccups like that over the past two years#but it's like... ok. not as bad as other live service games that are just focused on content generation

#miles thots#like i’m so happy for queer women rn#but the lack of music that represents me is exactly why i’m drawn to artists like boygenius muna and chappell#they’re for a community i used to identify with and still feel a sort of connection to and therefore are the closest#to representing my experiences currently#and i’m definitely not saying gay artists shouldn’t sing about sex bc that’s awesome too#i just wish there was music that wasn’t either sad or sex (or both)#and this makes me want to come back to the lack of trans masc representation in media in general#and how when there is trans masc rep it’s Always sad and Always white with like two exceptions#or better yet infantalized!#which leave trans masc poc with *checks notes* barney#and i literally cannot think of any non white transmasc musicians rn#and the transmasc musicians i can think of are sad with the exception of noahfinnce#i could keep going forever but my point is it all comes back to representation#and when there isn’t enough of it for one group that group is going to gravitate to the next closest thing

perhaps the reason why aup ended like *that* is because it was not supposed to have a happy ending in the first place, but sayren didnt have the guts to deal with readers' backlash for when they finally kill off the main character so a half baked happy ending is what we get 😔
#for a happy ending of a story to be narratively satisfying the characters gotta actively work hard for it#this happy ending feels empty because quite frankly speaking ludger did nothing to deserve it#he has zero character developments from the beginning to the end and has always been the same#well except for his emotional state getting worse over time#bc instead of making any attempt at all to healthily address it like a mentally mature 40yo adult he let it swallow him whole#(not that im necessarily blaming him but its quite frustrating to see him remain unchanged if aup is meant to be a redemption story)#his OPness is inherent#his genius is inherent#(this is not to say he isnt hardworking / only relying on his inborn talents but the author repeatively failed the 'show dont tell' checks)#(bc it was only implied in the past and we've never truly seen it in the canon present timeline either)#his kindness is inherent#ngl dad!ludger content doesnt appeal to me as much as dad!edgeworth cuz the latter is the fruit of the character's growth and hard labor#while the former is well... its just who he is#usually i love found family content but in aup it bores my mind out bc his interactions w the students + owens are so static & predictable#it was heartwarming at the moment of adoption but later on i find it as tedious as reading generic established romantic relationships#was it because of the lack of tensions and conflicts i wonder#they all became his yes men and no one ever actively challenged his unhealthy mindset or behaviors#anyway id have been more interested if he recognized his biases/favoritism/prejudices towards some certain characters & worked to change it#but welp. that would require character growth which is too much to expect from him ig#he has learnt quite nothing from his journey and tbh aup would ironically feel more meaningful if it ended on a tragic note#ofco i got noblesse'd again 😔#would i kill for aup to have a happy ending? yes#would i rather have a sad ending over the half baked and empty good ending we get? also yes#if it must burn then let the whole world burn. cuz at least it would be more much memorable and impactful that way#and i wouldnt have to feel this disappointed and lose all of my interests in one of my only two beloved aroace MCs in aup </2#rant
