All we have to do is wait a few more years or even, months. Pretenders always end up revealed and exposed. And, Natalie can't hide her baby forever nor stay hostage. I'm sure she's being well paid, but really missing her party friends. She won't stand to disappear and she's probably missing her promiscuous life.

And, when she shows the baby, we will see who he/she looks like. If he looks like an European or a Latin, for example. Dad will, proudly, want to post pics of his child for algorithms, especially being so happy in love and in life. It might take a while, but we will know. She will have to go out and take her baby out to get some light and people are everywhere with cel phones. Natalie and her baby can't hide forever.

But, let's play with our imagination and suppose, for a while, that Henry and Natalie are, in fact, married for over four years, husband and wife for more than four years and that this ridiculous circus was their brilliant, pathetic idea to introduce his m*stress to the world. If so, this guy is an idiotic. But, it's really hard to make this exercise when there are so many red flags of his misery during the last four years, while this woman seemed to give a f*ck.

If so pleased and happy with his romantic situation and so "proud of being her man", he wouldn't give a damn about what his fans thought about his PR (?) "wife", who is still a girlfriend on social media, and they would actually look like a real couple, not colleagues who get together for promotional pics and lousy romantic performances of a fake happiness, staging a circus, while she promotes her breasts.

But, the same way this shenanigan started, it ended. Abruptly, without a clue. No one has a clue on how, where and when these two met and now, Mr. Perfect went back to performing his old single bachelor persona, not the father figure, despite promising we would "have more of it". He should win an Oscar. And he has lived as if these four years had never happened, switching characters as if switching a key. Like a movie that took four years to be produced, launched, exhibited and promoted.

Maybe, he had regretted exhibiting his promiscuous "wife" (?) as a sl*t, as a good misogynist would do, and now, had decided to stop with the circus. But, I thought they were having fun. And his algorithms were increasing by exposing his promiscuous to public execration. So, why stop now? I don't believe a child would stop both. They love the attention and even pay paps to follow them around. They wouldn't blink for a second to use "their child" to increase their algorithm even more.

They used a sick dying dog, for Christ sake! Why not a child? Henry is a money maker gulable for attention. That's all he thinks of: Money and spotlight. That's why he became an escort in many PR stunts, because those are way more lucrative for his pocket and image, allowing him to always perform a new show for a new PR contract.

Someone here suggested a PR marriage would be more logical if he wanted to hide his sexuality. OK. But, it turns out that marriage (fake or real) would publicly turn him into a boring and steady guy, he wouldn't increase his algorithm that much with the marriage narrative and it wouldn't call much of attention after a while nor produce that amount of gossip on the internet.

But, escorting in fake-dates with many... Well, that certainly causes a fuss and allows him to make money as an escort and always be in evidence, each year or so, with a different chick every now and then. But, back to our exercise, can somebody explain to me how a single bachelor, who enjoys parties, smoozing and boozing with a bunch of drunk and gay friends and a loner life, all of a sudden, from one day to another, becomes a father of a promiscuous' baby?

Oh! Yes! He enjoys the smoozing and boozing in nightclub parties and she apparently, came out of one of those nightclub promiscuous' parties from Mayhem and that's how they met. Or maybe, she was never promiscuous, but, a very religious, pure, respected, steady woman, who was a victim for having a promiscuous porn actress as a double. One way or another, no doubt they were made for each other. Funny, if not tragic.

So, if you wanna know the true story of this plot, just wait and see what the future may bring. Qué sera, será.

Nahida has called in the book club to try and start discussions about the Creator's situation. Cyno actually kinda knows what he's talking about and Alhaitham is... mostly there for moral support... [< prev] [Blog Tag] [next >]

There’s not much to do except wait for Alhaitham and Cyno to show up, unfortunately, so you have taken to chatting with Nahida and Aranyani about some of the games and toys that exist back on Earth. Aranyani seems to be interested in the mechanics of each, comparing them to existing games in Teyvat, while Nahida is more interested in trying them out for herself, someday.

Scaramouche doesn’t seem interested in the conversation, but he sits with the three of you anyway and watches the shadows of birds moving beyond the stained glass windows.

You’d just been explaining the concept of the rubix cube and algorithms to the two gods when a sure knock is heard on the sanctuary doors. Scaramouche takes the opportunity to make his escape from the conversation, shuffling to the door and opening it for the newcomers.

Cyno steps in, followed by Alhaitham, and the two of them hold each other at a polite distance as they walk down toward the dais, where the rest of you stand to greet them.

“Hello, my friends!” Nahida exclaims, smiling brightly and clasping her hands together even as she and Aranyani take a gracious step back to allow you and the newcomers space. “Thank you so much for being here! We have a lot to discuss!”

“We came as soon as we heard,” Cyno replies, nodding. He then turns to you with a little salute. “Your Grace, it is an honor to be in your presence.”

You put your hands up placatingly. “Please, there’s no need for formality…” you say, shuffling awkwardly on the spot as everyone looks at you. You clear your throat and gesture for the newcomers to continue.

“We heard about the circumstances after your arrival in Teyvat,” Alhaitham states, stepping around Cyno, stopping at his side and crossing his arms. Straight to the point. “Do you remember the circumstances that led up to your descent? It might help point toward the root cause, and shed light on the ‘how’s and ‘why’s.”

“Uh, good question,” you mutter, scratching your head about it for a second. “I was probably hanging out in my room or something, really. Playing, uh, games on my phone.”

You wonder if it’s too early to mention that said game was Genshin, AKA. controlling their world. You know they’re marginally self-aware, but the extent of which still escapes you.

“Alright, and did you do anything different while you were playing on this ‘phone’? See anything strange?” Cyno picks up, pulling out a small notepad and quill. “Anything out of the ordinary, things that you don’t normally do or notice.”

“Well, my phone has been glitching a lot when I play games, lately,” you muse. “And I kept getting these buggy screens while I was in-game, but I figured that was just because my device was overheating or something. You know, they build them faulty on purpose so they can sell you a new one every few years? Apparently in France or something they made companies give people the right to repair their own phones, but we don’t have that where I live…”

Cyno writes down most of the first half of what you say, but you seem to lose the crowd as you ramble. He looks up from his notepad to fix you with a level stare, though you can tell there's just a hint of confusion behind his expression.

“Can you say something that makes sense to people who live in this world?” Scaramouche interjects somewhere in the middle of your rambling, the first time he spoke since you guys first teleported to the Sanctuary of Surasthana. “Or at least stay on topic, or something.”

“Oh,” you reply, blinking. “Right.”

Cyno nods to you again, though he keeps glancing at Scaramouche out of the corner of his eye. Alhaitham doesn’t bother with subtlety, fixing the Balladeer with a level, analytical stare. Cyno clears his throat after a few seconds of awkward silence, preparing his notepad once more. “So, you were saying you played on this ‘phone’ device, aside from the problem you noticed, was there anything else you did differently?”

“Not really,” you shrug. “I was playing the game like I normally would, doing commissions and stuff. No, wait, actually I did do something a bit weird.”

This causes Cyno to perk up, and he leans forward onto the balls of his feet as he listens attentively.

“Because the game was overheating my phone, my ping was super slow,” you explain. “So I was lagging pretty badly. I was doing one of the leylines in the jungle and I was spamming the interact button on the flower because I was getting impatient…”

“And then?”

“... And then I think another dialogue box popped up, but I didn’t notice what it said.” You finish, sighing. “After that, I just remember waking up beside a leyline thingy right here in Teyvat.”

“Do you remember the exact location of the leyline?” Alhaitham asks, to which you shake your head.

“The Traveler and Wanderer found me not too long after that, and took me straight to the city. They probably have a better idea than I do, honestly. I didn’t really have a chance to figure out where I was, at the time…”

“Do you recall any distinctive landmarks? Anything that stood out in an otherwise unremarkable location?”

You shake your head again, trying to remember what you saw. “No, uh, I was a little bit distracted by discovering I was suddenly in- uh, in Teyvat, and-”

“So you were not already aware of your location when you descended?” Cyno clarifies. You nod quickly.

“I only figured out it was Sumeru when the Traveler started bringing me closer to the city,” you agree, wringing your hands nervously under the general’s gaze. “The few little houses and tents that started popping up, the architecture kinda gave it away…”

“Were there any inconsistencies you noticed between your knowledge of Teyvat and the actual Teyvat when you arrived?” Cyno asks, his head tilted to the side ever so slightly. “Just to make sure you’re in the correct version.”

“Well, funny you should mention that,” you figure it wouldn’t hurt to share this, given the result of it sitting right next to you. Out of the corner of your eye, Nahida is giving you a thumbs up. “I got hurt touching a leyline, not the same one as when I first got here, though! I got a little cut on my hand, because the leaves are a bit sharper than I was expecting…”

Alhaitham’s attention shifts from the Balladeer back to you. “What happened when you were injured?”

“I, uh, I accidentally made Irminsul recover some deleted information.” You simplify as best as you can. “And now there’s several things that were added back to the world that aren’t technically supposed to be here...”

“I’ve never heard of leylines doing that, before,” Cyno remarks. “Then again, it’s not every day the Creator descends to Teyvat.”

“Have you tried going back to the same location to see if it yields reverse results?” Alhaitham wonders aloud, seeming amused by the strange predicament.

“And what is that supposed to achieve?” Scaramouche interrupts again, snorting as he crosses his arms. “Besides going for a leisurely stroll through the jungle, I mean. Irminsul already recovered the missing data, and the location itself doesn’t matter, if you haven’t noticed already, since you can find a leyline just about anywhere.”

“It’s certainly an unprecedented behavior for leylines,” Cyno agrees. “But again, the Creator has never descended before-”

“We heard you the first time,” Scaramouche deadpans, earning him a smack upside the head courtesy of you. “Ow! Do you want to figure this stuff out or not?”

“Be nice,” you grumble, though you do feel slightly annoyed at the repetitive line of questioning. “He’s just ruling things out, right?” You turn to Cyno, nodding encouragingly for him to continue.

“Ley lines are a complicated but fascinating subject to study,” Cyno states, crossing his arms and tucking his notebook under one elbow. “However, I’m afraid interdimensional travel is a little bit outside Spantamad’s realm of expertise.”

“Honestly, that’s fair,” you give a resigned sigh, but Scaramouche cuts you off.

“But how’s that supposed to help you?” He sneers and rolls his eyes, shaking his head. “It’s like you want to be stuck here forever with no explanation for how you got here in the first place.”

“Can we just chalk it up to magic or something?” You ask sheepishly, a little embarrassed at having taken the time out of two of Sumeru’s most important figures’ days.

“I was looking forward to hearing about how you got into this predicament with your own two idiot hands, honestly.”

“What I want to know,” Alhaitham suddenly interjects, surprising everyone else with his initiative. “Is how the Creator and the Dendro archon are here, cozying up to a Fatui harbinger?”

Four pairs of eyes blink at him in surprise, while Cyno nods in agreement.

“I think that’s the more pressing matter, here,” he agrees, and you can sense the tingle of static in the air as his previously-relaxed grip on his notebook starts to tighten.

“Okay, see, that’s one of the things I was talking about!” You say quickly, the words leaving you in a rush in hopes of stemming the building tension in the sanctuary. “He was a harbinger before, but he’s all better now!”

“You say that like it was an illness,” Scaramouche snorts, to which you can only laugh.

“Yeah? As if you didn’t act a little bit sick in the hea-”

Nahida, who up until now has been doing an excellent job of pretending to mind her own business, decides to chime in before the general can come to his own conclusion.

“I apologize for not warning you two earlier, but I do have it on good authority—that authority being myself,” she hides her giggle with the palm of her hand, “that the Balladeer poses no harm to either of you, or the Creator!”

“It’s also kinda my fault that he’s here, so I mean…” You trail off and give an apologetic shrug.

“How did you know I was a harbinger?” Scaramouche’s eyes narrow at Alhaitham and he crosses his arms as well, mirroring both the scribe and Cyno. “As far as I've been told, the memory of ‘me’ was erased from Irminsul.”

Cyno shakes his head. “No, there is recorded evidence of the Balladeer’s involvement with the sages’ god-creation plan,” he corrects, relaxing very slightly after Nahida’s reassurance but not dropping his guard completely.

“I was present at the time of the Traveler’s investigation of the Joruri workshop, where they confronted the mechanical false god,” Alhaitham adds. “The person who fell from the machine indeed bears striking resemblance to you, but was confirmed to not be the Balladeer himself. However, Lord Kusanali’s own interjection confirms that you are indeed the Balladeer.”

“He’s been reformed,” you say cheerfully, but your mind is running a mile a minute. Evidently Nahida and Aranyani are on the same page, because the two goddesses drift closer with curious looks on their faces.

“So Irminsul has already started patching the holes in Teyvat’s history,” Nahida muses, hands on her hips. “It’s much faster than I anticipated, given the circumstances.”

“Not as surprising as you would think, little sprout,” Aranyani pats her head. “Irminsul is capable of very rapid computation, but the problem lies in resolving as many conflicting histories as possible. Two is faster, but three will cause some things to be shuffled around for a few days, still. The justification of the existence of multiple incarnations of the Balladeer may yet be subject to change.”

“So you’re saying that what we currently perceive as fact, is instead false?” Cyno asks, having retrieved his notebook once more. As the goddesses continue to muse on the subject, he writes down their theories and makes some notes of his own.

“I’d say sorry for that workshop fight,” Scaramouche says, addressing Alhaitham with a smug grin. “But I honestly didn’t even remember you being there. I guess you just weren’t that noteworthy to me at the time. No hard feelings, right?”

Alhaitham doesn’t even bother to grace him with a look, much to Scaramouche’s annoyance. Instead, the scribe quietly listens in on the Irminsul discussion.

Meanwhile, you try to remember what team you had when you took on the Archon quest fight. It’s been a while since then, and you’re not sure if you’re thinking of the right fight. Maybe you used Alhaitham in one of your weeklies? Speaking of which, do those boss fights exist in the world of Teyvat, or is that just for you as a player of the game? If they exist, how do the characters feel having to go beat up the same people on a weekly basis? What about the characters who are weekly bosses, like Wanderer, Childe, and Ei?

Thinking about it is starting to give you a headache.

You decide to tune back in as Nahida and Aranyani finish bouncing ideas between themselves, with Cyno furiously scribbling annotations in the margins of his notepad. What was it they were talking about again? You get the sense that maybe you should've paid a bit more attention.

“- that’s the case, then we should contact Inazuma and see if there is a new history that came up.” Cyno offers, to which Nahida shakes her head.

“If we ask directly, the answer we will get is the same.” She explains, wringing her tiny hands. “To them, this knowledge will have always existed. They will perceive it as an unchanged fact, in the same way you and the Scribe believe the circumstances of the Balladeer to be a fact. The better people to ask would be the ones involved in the anomaly.”

“Alright, and how do we find them?”

“See, that’s the funny part…” You begin, only to be interrupted by a sudden swirling pressure in the chamber.

It’s strange to see the teleportation from an outside perspective. You watch as Wanderer shimmers into existence, adjusting his hat. The metal charms on the ends of it chime as they settle. He looks up, catching sight of you first and raises a hand to wave, only to stop short when he sees the other guests.

“... Looks like I’m late to the party,” he remarks, drifting over to Nahida’s side. “Wanna catch me up to speed? Not that I care, but I might as well get the full picture so I can correct you where you're wrong.”

“I asked for the General and the Scribe to come visit so that we could get a better grasp on the Creator’s situation!” Nahida explains, smiling brightly at him.

“Great, and how did that go?”

Everybody chooses to look in different directions, unable to look Wanderer in the eye. You hear him heave an annoyed, but resigned, sigh.

“We might’ve gotten somewhere if Buer hadn’t sidetracked,” Scaramouche adds helpfully.

“And you might’ve gotten the groceries like you guys said you would, too, but here we are,” Wanderer crosses his arms, pinning you and Scaramouche with a pointed look.

You wince and turn around, subtly leaning over to Scara, whispering: “I actually forgot about that…”

“Me too…” he replies, not quite as quietly as you. You both startle as hands come down on both of your shoulders, Wanderer’s grinning face appearing between the two of you.

“Isn’t this just a splendid opportunity for you two to go find the traveler and restock our pantry, while Buer and I go over the details of what you clowns didn’t explain right?”

Scaramouche wastes no time wresting his shoulder out of Wanderer’s grasp with a noise of disgust. “Who do you think you are to order me around, teacher’s pet? I’ll go when I feel like it.” He sneers, stalking off toward the doors of the sanctuary.

You offer a light chuckle and a wry grin of apology to the others, who watch unimpressed at Scaramouche’s display, while Wanderer dismisses you with a shooing motion.

Right. Time to get those supplies.

HEY ALL! MY BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW! :D 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

You know what that means! I’ll be releasing the paraphrased story of the first arc in my Starpoint Squad/Starline Redemption AU here on Tumblr!! ✨✨ (& all the pictures I’ve been working tirelessly on all week for it. :’3)

This is a huge milestone for me! It’s been a little over a year since I started this project, and ever since I started it, it’s had a stranglehold on me.

I can’t think of a moment in recent time where it hasn’t been on my mind in one form or another. I haven’t had a hyperfixation this bad since my Bendy and the Ink Machine era. (And I might even argue that this is even stronger! o-o)

⭐️ I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you do happen to see the three acts on your feed tomorrow afternoon around 3-5pm PST, would you please do me a birthday solid and interact with them in some way? ;w; 💖 (Comment, reblog, heck, even a like will mean a lot to me!!)

I promise it’s a good read too! I tried to make it as fun and easy to digest as possible, and split it into three acts with easy links to each one in case you don’t have time to read the entire thing. It’s got action, drama, character growth, and general character shenanigans. :3

On top of that, it contains about 28 drawings done by me and some pictures from the comics to add effect. ✨

On a more personal note, it’s really hard to believe I’m finally here. This story has been a big passion project of mine for a while now, and I’ve put a ton of work into it.

I’m very excited to share it with you, and despite my fear that people won’t care, or this will disappear into to the algorithm like most of my other stuff, I’m still hopeful I can be proved wrong. 💖💖

I still have one more piece to finish, and likely a really long night ahead of me, so I better hurry up and get back to it. (I’d like to actually take a break on my birthday, y’know? xD)

Honestly, I'm surprised you haven't really encountered any River hate. I feel like if I'm getting any River content I'm not actively looking for, it tends to be critical.

And I wasn't trying to say River and Kaidan are the same because they aren't! I think my point was that I just really like the idea of strong badass ppl wanting to come back to someone and something more mundane than everything else in their life. I do still really appreciate the reply, and loved your analysis! It's been a min since I played through cyberpunk, but I might redo River's quests and romance to see those things you mentioned! I was super into him, so perhaps I just didn't notice the same things you did during my playthrough.

I've seen people clowning on River in like usual fandom shenanigans, but haven't come across any legit hate. I'm not counting valid criticism as hate. Not criticism of River but of the game design, rushed story, and lack of choices.

But also I'm not in the fandom so I haven't seen much, or anything at all. I'm avoiding anything cyberpunk related online until I finish my first playthrough (3rd act so far) so I don't get spoiled. Some things managed to slip through... courtesy of online algorithms and user data trading, also honest human mistakes. Sometimes people accidentally slip a spoiler or to when talking to me about the game aka my brother spoiling the whole final game boss bc he was excited over the fact I watched edgerunners

And yeah I appreciate that too! River just wants to settle down, have a family, maybe even get married, in Night City of all places! It's sorta sweet. How he offers an "out" route to V whose been a mercenary for so long, they almost forgot what it feels like to have an actual family, a comfortable mundane life, what a quiet night sounds like without the sound of gunshots. Gives me the vibe of "it's not rotten work if it's you," and "In another life, I would've really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you"

Good luck! If it's something specific I mentioned that caught your eye, I don't mind elaborating more and showcasing ingame screenshots. I tried to stay true to the in-game canon in my analysis and not relay on intuition or personal interpretation & opinions... but I'm sure some things slipped through. Biases are hard to overcome sometimes.

ABOUT ME

WHO AM I?

I'm a silly little creature from Finland who enjoys doing all sorts of things, but I mainly focus on visual art, writing and creating cool AUs and OCs! I've been drawing since 2007 and I've been posting my works on the internet since 2018 (you can still find all my old animations and speedpaints on YouTube)

Some other hobbies I have include photography and collecting bones, dead insects and other miscellaneous nature doodads. I also began coding this year!

Media I enjoy includes The Fairly OddParents (obviously), Rainbow Quest, Ginga Densetsu Weed: Orion (and other dog mangas by the same creator), FNAF, Steven Universe, Moomins, MLP, Terraria, Minecraft, Murder Drones, Breaking Bad... and lots of others

Brief rundown of my activity on the internet: Like I already mentioned, I first began posting on Youtube (2018-2020). During that I also started posting on Deviantart (2018-2020), Amino (2018-2021), Sony Sketch (2019), Pinterest (2019-2025) and Instagram (2018-2024). I stopped posting on Deviantart and Amino after I no longer felt interested, Sony Sketch after it got deleted (rest in piss </3), Pinterest after my account got deleted this year and Instagram after I realised how terrible it is in so many ways. I've used Instagram for the longest time, but in 2021 I, for the first time, feared I would have to leave it (there was some anti-artist algorithm shenanigans going on). And so I created this Tumblr account, and trough these past few years I've grown attached to this place. I'm currently planning on adding all my artworks on my website, but I'll still keep posting here!

Missionaries of Eden AU / MOE AU (The Fairly OddParents)

Tag: #fop missionaries of eden au Status: UNFINISHED, STORY 70% FINISHED Created mid 2024

Unofficially known as the "Bible AU", MOE AU is a mature take on the sequel series "The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish" from the perspective of Peri Fairywinkle-Cosma, an angel and a loyal follower of God. Similarly to the original series, his mission is to bring joy and the gospel of his people to his assigned child, Dev Dimmadome. Peri is determined to succeed in his task and to make him happy, however he soon notices the cracks in the Dimmadome family, and before he even realises it, he has fallen down a deep rabbit hole of pain and trauma. But maybe there's still hope, if he so chooses

The AU has become a story about family, self-identity, trauma, recovery, acceptance and letting go of the things that harm you and those you love. It will be told though comics, and I even might start working on them soon!

Shared Humanity AU (Thomas the Tank Engine)

Weird bodyhorror-like AU where I tried to make the sentient trains make sense, with the main focus obviously being on my favorite TTTE ship, James × Edward

To explain the lore further, my idea was that there was a species of large bilateral animal called "the Siberian flesh worm", which would inject its substance into a victim (a mammal), that would slowly start to change the victim's DNA and make it into a hybrid between the worm and the mammal's species. So all the trains were previously human, but then they got infected, and once infected they went to seek a dark hiding place to hibernate. I'm unsure how the humans got into the trains, but eventually all their organs, muscles and other were twisted so that they were able to control the train. After a while, Edward found out about this and started researching it more. Eventually, with a group of researchers (including other trains), they found a way to remove the organic body from the inorganic train. They did this with all trains willing to participate, and they were allowed to live the rest of their lives as regular people (the change in their DNA had made them live longer)

Rainbow Quest, but everybody turns into angels in the afterlife (?)

Unnamed Moomin AU

Status: INDEFINITE HIATUS Created: 2022(?)

The Moomin AU is like regular Moomins but with Too-ticky being the main focus. The AU explores the character's wild past and her crazy future and invludes also many headcanons (like her being bear-like and being born in the US. The rest of the events are still located in Finland, but to any Moomin fan that shouldn't come as a surprise)

Unnamed Minecraft (creepypasta) AU

Status: INDEFINITE HIATUS Created: 2022(?)

The Minecraft AU focuses on Herobrine, a demigod with moose features being able to control storms and lightning. After being defeated and killed - for what people thought was for the last time - his reign of terror quickly faded. When he eventually gets resurrected and sees how he has fallen from his former glory, he goes on a quest to find new purpose in life (I'm starting to see a pattern with me redeeming morally questionable/bad characters...)

Well I was possessed to try and make more progress on my Ghost Trick ROMhack this evening because I really and truly am so close to finishing it, and after spending 3 hours being annoyed I can confidently say that I maybe sort of kind of made some slight progress.

I've been really digging into the chapter.xml file because I think it holds the key to telling me some things about how the game handles progression. This is important because the 2 remaining sprites I have not been able to update using the scripts I've done so far both seem to be updated via how the game handles progression [they are updated at the same time during a certain key reveal] - so if I can learn how this database update mechanic works, I might be able to learn what is telling it which sprites to use, and then finally finish this thing I have had ""almost"" done since before I went back to school and got a whole ass masters degree.

Things I have figured out with respect to the chapter.xml file:

- it definitely does have the ability to flag or indicate database progression/updates, because by some shenanigans I tested, I can force it to load the same scene from different "chapter select" buttons and doing so will cause the database to reflect different points in the story. because the scene is identical I know this is almost certainly not flagged by the scene itself or by the stage root file (generally if it were that I'd expect the stage root file to load a different scene altogether along with a different game progression state) ((suppose I shouldn't totally rule it out but anyway..))

- individual stages also have the ability to flag database progression/updates obviously though because sometimes new info is added mid-stage, but there is SO much more code in the stage .xml files that testing and isolating it with the chapter.xml file seems Much Easier

Things that walled me from making more substantial progress with the chapter.xml file:

- I got to a point where it seemed that the process of exporting, decompressing, and recompressing resulted in a crash when the game tries to load any chapter beyond 3.

- Turns out this was completely unrelated to any changes I was making and was caused by probably the emulator cacheing something weird and/or me not properly saving the changes made upon reinsertion in crystaltile and/or the compression algorithm not liking that I renamed the file and/or any number of small little things I was not being careful about. This resulted in about an hour of rigourously testing specific changes in the chapter.xml file being rendered completely useless because all these crashes I experienced were caused by something else.

On the plus side, supreme annoyance aside, I have some strong Hunches that should be able to be confirmed next time I have some time to sit down and test them properly. I have no clue if these will lead me to where I want to go but they should at least further my overall understanding of the game which will, EVENTUALLY, VERY EVENTUALLY, lead me to what I'm looking for. Which has been just the biggest pain in my ass but so it goes.

(I'm trying not to think too hard about the very real possibility that progression stuff needs to be tested by looking at the data in the save file itself; this will be the inevitable next step if chapter.xml bears no fruit.)

you obvious haven't been in the taekook community for a long time or you haven't branched out outside of tumblr much because if you had you'd know that taekookers are (much like jkkrs) more tae biased than they are jk biased. like the whole story tkkrs built is about tae being the only victim in the whole vminkook shipping situation, jungkook the unfaithful man, and jimin being the "other woman" who seduces him and jungkook sometimes falling into his traps or sometimes he's forced by the company to play along. it depends on the situation and how it affected taekook/tkkrs.

and this isn't saying that jkkrs are better, i'm not defending either sides because i belong to neither as im not a shipper to begin with, i have just been in this fandom long enough to see how this whole shippers situation has started and played out to this day. and the one major thing i've noticed that both sides of shippers have in common is that they both care about the non-jungkook half of their ship more, and jungkook is mostly treated like a prop from both sides. for jkkrs, he's the "supportive boyfriend" who's only worth mentioning when they want to hype up jimin and make him look superior, and for tkkrs he's your typical 19-20th century husband who has a "job wife (jimin)" who's a potential homewrecker if she succeeds in seducing the husband, and whom the "real wife (tae)" gets jealous of and the couple are her victims.

so yeah, both sides don't really gaf about jungkook much outside of using him to either prop up their fave or victimize him. jungkook stans mostly aren't shippers and they're either ot7 armys who see both hyungs as jk's closest friends, or they're solos who have no tolerance for either one of the two and drag both the entire time. which is why vmk solos are always fighting with each other and why jjks in particular are always caught in the middle of ship wars, because they're the only ones who actually defend jungkook from the crossfire.

Alright anon, get of your condescending high horse, I'm sure it was possible to send me an ask that was more conversational. I could very well be wrong, and I believe I did state that I was talking from my point of view, most of my followers are perfectly able to understand that for what it is.

What are we taking as as a measuring point for fandom behavior then if you're so against my Tumblr point of view? Twitter? TO me that's like basing your opionon on food by going to MacDonalds. Sure you'll get some nice stuff there, it's fast, it's simple, it has something for everyone... but does it give you the whole food experience? Probably not. You'll not likely be able to remember much about the food you tasted there except for that it was good (or bad). (Not wanting to trash Twitter completely, I know there's good stuff on there and I'm definitely exagerating to make a point 😁). Twitter is designed to be fast and short and by that design it makes it more difficult do go into deep discussions. Twitter is great for pushing content and activating fandom, not so great for estimating how fandom shenanigans work, because your view of it will be heavily biased by the loudest voices.. not the most sane ones.

Tiktok's algorithm wil make sure you get no-where. Instagram does not give you a sense of volume and is more about images than about discussion.

Tumblr is ofcourse small in comparison, so we don't get a sense of volume. But it does allow room for discussion. It's also real easy to go back to former posts because it works as an archive a bit. So please don't treat Tumblr as though it doesn't count in forming an opinion.

So sure I might be off, but you might be as well.

Goodness, I don't think I'm the person to ask for this---

Long blah blah read below:

TL;DR version: You just gotta keep on drawing. That be it. Draw things you like and enjoy and people will find you, eventually. Tumblr is like... Artist RNG. You might get lucky if someone likes it enough to reblog, and if they reblog it maybe their followers like it and reblog! Or sometimes you just get nothing but likes. Which don't do anything sadly haha. Some of my best illustrations I've only ever gotten likes. You just have to keep doing you and grow, one day; one step at a time.. You'll find your crowd, but you definitely can't give up! ♡ Draw what makes you happy! Grow for yourself! If you ever wanna share your art with me (or through an ask like this) I can share it for others to see here too!

The biggest thing is to draw for yourself and try and ignore them icky numbers. Which I get you, that feels impossible to do for most artists trying to grow. I wished my art and characters would gain more traction too! But I still tell myself it's okay cuz you will meet the right crowd eventually!

I have... 400 somethin' followers??? and when I first came back here I only had like 180. My followers came from Twit I believe and some fanart/fancharacter shenanigans. So I really don't have a lot in Tumblr terms haha (over 100 are old dead accounts). And you know what?? That's totally okay!! I just draw, post, I don't pay attention to tags other than organization purposes, and if what I make is liked then I'm happy. Even if it's only 2-3 folks. You learn to appreciate the little numbers as time goes by. I've been trying to hit big on here since I was like, 15/16.... I am 30 now. LOL but I haven't given up! You just learn to be happy with what you get. And I know it's hard, cuz you and your creations want to be seen, and I feel you.

Like most sites, they change their mannerisms over the years. Algorithm change, tags become useful, then become useless and then useful and then useless again... So forth! Just never giving up is key no matter what these sites throw at you. One day you'll find your space, your crowd. But remember, it is never your fault. Its algorithms and artist RNG these days. We keep going by supporting eachother òvó) 9 I support you, anon!

Injured or drunk?

Apparently, he continues hiring paps to register a SUPPOSEDLY “casual” sight we all notice, by now, is planned and articulated to happen. This last video shows that. He looks so..... artificial pretending the pap is not there and that he wasn’t the one to hire he/she to be there. This trip is promotional.

By the way, he has given the impression of slovenliness and dullness for a while and I think it’s on purpose. Appatently, he definitely is having trouble dealing with criticism and he might want people to just let him behind and leave him alone. He’s intentionally getting sloppy with looks.

In this last video, someone called attention to his walk. The two possible explanations we came up with were because of his injury or for being drunk. Both possible. But, having in mind he stages all his public appearances, hiring paps to register them, I have a third option: He is staging.

Yes, he might be staging that walk for gossip, because injured or drunk, he easily falls in the victim scope, the same way he’s doing with looks. Now, everything about this guy looks staged, artificial, thought so as to generate gossip, algorithm, fighting for a thread of spotlight. Pitiful!

I understand that in Hollywood, if you don’t show, you don’t glow. If you don’t appear, you are forgotten. But, this is too much. Creating and investing in a total fake private life 24/7, to promote a fake image... That’s too much.

But, I don’t believe he’s doing it exactly for spotlight, not anymore. This spotlight attention he always purchased is, NOW, the means to what he NEEDS to achieve: He needs to pretend nothing has changed, that he’s really engaged to the h**ker and has to continue ignoring the shame, trying to influence you to have mercy of him.

Do I feel pity for him? Yes. But, not sorrow. For the way they dealt with this last PR was immoral and unscrupulous. And, I am aware that he’s reaping what he sowed and that he continues repeating the same mistakes for stubborness, shame and pride. His Ego is always ahead and for sure, dignity never came before fame. Those were empty words.

Something else I noticed. As soon as the discussion over fandom sueing him started to have attention the Spain photos came out and a stan appears to be desperate in trying to prove the fake is real. For these stans, I ask: What does Cavill’s farm business have to do with his PR stunt with the promiscuous? Nothing!

This trip to Spain is a false vacation and a new opportunity to include the bl*w j*b promiscuous to promote the fake relationship. Just think. If they were really engaged, together, they wouldn’t have to keep proving it through promotional sights.

If they are really together, but this relationship is harmful and damaging for his public figure, all he had to do was to keep it private. No need so much effort to turn it public nor to promote it. If, despite his miserable looks, he continues promoting it, it’s because it’s a contract demand.

This woman is a redneck promiscuous and I doubt he would want to expose her as his girlfriend or wife, even if the relationship was real. The bl*w j*b photo incapacitated and crippled this PR stunt to be convincing, despite their innumerous attempts. And, he became stuck in a contract.

Someone is stubborn and needs to promote this shenanigan as true no matter what. Why? We all see the circus this is. So, why is it so imperative to Cavill to continue sticking to it if this is clearly making him sick?

The images are clear. He looks much older, showing wrinkles he didn’t have in a short time, his facial expressions are notoriously droopy, indicating stress, sadness, regrets and resentment. No one can deny that. It is clear there’s something very wrong about this last PR, but also, about Cavill’s mental health or emotional state, despite having some pages use filters and AI in pictures.

Hello! I was re-reading -i bet you think about me- yesterday, and saw your reblog about the commentary posts 👀 would v much enjoy some info on the writing process for that fic. It's my favourite modern-era version of Jonathan, that perfect mix of grumpy and sweet 🧡 also love how that fic gently played around with the mean/petty elements of both Steve and Jonathan's personalities (v underappreciated character traits of theirs in my opinion)

omg well firstly this is very very nice of you to say!!!!! i am very honored that is a fic you would want to reread, i had a lot of fun writing that one!

and ok so originally i thought that fic might be a long oneshot (this happens very often I fear.) once i outlined and started writing, I realized that wouldn’t be the case, but before that?l? the idea for the fic was inspired by the fact that my Alexa is synced to my Spotify, which means sometimes i’m listening to music on my phone or laptop and it randomly cuts off bc my mom started listening to the Alexa at home. (Luckily this hasn’t screwed my algorithm up too badly. although i did get an email the other month thanking me for being one of earth wind & fire’s top fans.) ((also: i realize now this is a weird jump to “hmm stonathan exes to lovers au where….” but that was indeed the jump i made.))

so for several months the fic sat in my Google docs with just a few lines of prose/dialogue here and there and a couple of notes with ideas. I think the first little bit i wrote was the beginning when steve tells robin about realizing Jonathan still has his Spotify (and by that i mean that for a while the only words in the Google docs were “you know what’s funny about this? You and Jonathan have, like, the opposite taste in music.”) and then for a while I’d randomly come up with little ideas and quickly add them to the doc. In fact, i distinctly remember driving home from a vacation with my family in the car, coming up with a bunch of ideas, and quickly writing them down when we stopped at the Starbucks drive thru. (I think that was when I threw in the what makes you beautiful karaoke flashback and also the scene post-confrontation where Nancy tells steve Jonathan is seeing someone and then has to clarify it’s a therapist lmao)

So that was the ~early stage stuff, and then i fully outlined it and started actually writing and then posting it in chapters, which is around the time I decided it would be nonlinear with flashbacks breaking up the present day sections. Also: the flashbacks were very much my favorite part to write!!!

And then from there i was mainly focused on creating, like….the vibe. I pretty much knew i wanted the fic to start out fun with a lot of Spotify shenanigans but get a bit more angsty as it went on, and i wanted that to tie in with Steve’s general attitude at the beginning being “the breakup wasn’t a big deal and we weren’t even serious” (which you kinda know from the get-go can’t be true because steve and jonathan were neighbors and friends for over a year before they even started dating) and then as the fic goes on you realize it very much was serious and steve is very much not over it. And then alongside that i was trying to walk the line of “these are two fucked up individuals who are very fucked up over each other and the reasons why they broke up make sense for them as characters and are realistic but also you should root for them to get back together regardless.” which was….hard at times lmao. i mean i feel like stonathan kinda have a toxic yaoi vibe depending on characterization / context so it wasn’t hard hard but also i did want to show they were genuinely good together and happy before they self sabotaged their relationship so that was another line i also struggled to walk.

relatedly; i’m glad you said you liked steve and jonathan’s petty/mean elements because i worried at several moments i was making them too mean! i think i was especially worried people would think jonathan was too mean, mainly because you don’t get his pov so you don’t really know what’s going on in his head. which is partly what i added in a little wrap-up of the events of the fic from his point of view when he and Steve talk toward the end. but also, tbh — and maybe this will sound bad lmao — i was thinking about it and then i was like “hang on. you’re writing M/M fanfiction. The only way someone would get mad at you because they think either of them is too mean is if one of them was a woman. So you’re fine.” And that helped lmao

Not really sure when I decided what the ending would be but i knew i wanted their reconciliation convo to start with Jonathan playing a song that had some sort of significance to steve / their relationship. And I knew i wanted them to be like “we’re gonna try again and work things out” but i wanted there to be a sense that they’d be successful without necessarily doing an epilogue??? so I just did a lil paragraph at the end that was like steve imagining them living together and giving speeches at robin and Nancy’s wedding and stuff, and that was basically a little confirmation that they’d be fine and things would work out. And then i ended with a flashback to Steve suggesting they share the Spotify account initially bc I thought that would be nice and full circle :)

Since you were asking, from what I know, DeviantArt is dead and full of AI shenanigans and shit, it's best to stay away from there. I've heard poorly about Instagram, but I've never been on there so I don't know? Most artists these days still seem to be on Twitter or X as they call it now, but I've personally never liked having to compete with the messy algorithms and daily posting just to be seen. Tumblr is a pretty cozy and stable place for artists, the tagging system helps a lot with engagement, it might be best to stay here till a better art-centric site comes around?

Twitter is something I don't use actively except lurking to get updates on a media i care about, and the few artists I followed there moved to tumblr actually. I always thought deviantart was just the best for "storing" art but hell, that's probably some years ago I have no idea how much it changed and it pains me to hear it's just flooded with AI shit. Disgusting. Especially since it's genuenly impossible to know if it's AI or not, unless OP is generous enough to say it. Thank you so much for your insight it means a lot actually, I've never used instagram but now it seems like a better option, next to the good ole tumblr. Once again, thank you sm for this!
