Viv is one of those women who say "girls support girls" and yet she'd still make fun of a fat girl or a disabled girl because they don't fit her Lana del ray coquette aesthetic
losing interest in life? finally start designing the ocs u fleshed out and made a whole world, personalities, and plot line for that you've worked on since 2014-2019
notice how when you hear about all these rich white men in high positions of power doing heinous shit, none of them end up being trans men or mascs 🤔 but surely we're just as privileged as any other cis guy right?
Hi! Sorry to post about asking for money, but my dog Squirt's developed a mass on his eyelid that's impacting his quality of life. It's grown to the point it's scratching into his eye and causing lots of liquid to leak out, and caused enough discomfort to him to scratch it up to the point of bleeding on several occasions.
His surgery to remove it is $900, if you're financially able to assist, I would deeply appreciate anything you can give, even if it's just sharing this around!
They were on their way to bed and Buckeye decided it was a good time to strike up a deep conversation.
Bella grew up into an adult (a thirteen-year-old, but it's all same-same in RimWorld), and she has the "hulk" body type, which I admit jumpscared me a little. Still, I look forward to drawing a pigskin Amazonian warrior wearing fancy gowns and using table manners worthy of a princess.
Aha! The perfect opportunity for newly-adult Bella to put her medical skills into practice!
Welcome to the cult, Marty Night Stalker. Nice to see Blackdragon keeping up the tradition of naming his newborn children unnecessarily badass names.
I do like the Millie Mossler and Marty Mossler alliteration for the two siblings, though. Good work on that one, Duchess!
Shea Fontana shared a little about the show staff's design decisions regarding characters that aren't made with dolls in mind, which I found rather interesting:
"When we introduce new characters that are not driven by franchise or pre-existing Monster High characters, our incredible designers (...) have a chance to push the monster-ness and lean into spooky fun designs. While fashion dolls need to follow some basic perimeters (often including more humanoid silhouettes and characteristics), these new animated characters can be some very monstrous monsters! From ooey-gooey bodies to dramatic wings to pumpkin heads, we look to heighten the freaky fab in these characters. We take cues from the mythologies of these monster types and work with cultural consultants to ensure that these new characters put even more of the "monster" into Monster High." (Typed out for ease of reading)
I figured something like this was the reason a lot of show exclusive characters seemed to stray farther from past mh design philosophies, but the confirmation is appreciated. So here's the reason some characters are much more monstrous than others, and we can expect to never see them on toy shelves.
Frankly, while I enjoy these designs that take more creative liberties, I do sometimes find they stand out quite a bit from the rest of the cast, in a way that makes you wonder what the in-universe reasoning is, and can be odd at times. I do ultimately enjoy seeing more creature aspects though, especially in the case of Mister Mothmanson and Miss Ziz.
Also, in the upper middle is someone we'll apparently meet tonight. Pumpkin Patch! Her design is adorable I love her already.
there's something so incredible about just. being noticed and being predictable to someone. especially when that someone is really just a stranger. I don't know your last name, but I know you put your hair up when you're sad. and I know your handwriting gets better looking the more you write, and that sometimes your voice breaks when you get excited, and I can tell how you feel by the way you smile- that little giggly grin you make when you want to say something, and the look in your eyes when someone makes you happy, and the tight-lipped smile you give when you don't know what to say. I know that you can listen to the same song for hours, and I know when you'll apologise and when you'll get angry and when you get sad- but. but. I still don't know your last name.
On the "darker" side of being comforted by one's immortality (not in the physical, but metaphorical), I've always been comforted by bone needles.
The idea that even after death, you've still been remembered by how you are used. No, bone needles probably weren't used with human bones, but it's a reminder that you aren't just going to... disappear. I'm comforted in the knowledge that I don't end in a "me" but in a "we," in nature. Everything about me is reused material so much more ancient than I am, and knowing that, I feel so much closer to the world.
