getting emotional over footage of an amateur scuba diver interacting with a coelacanth. they are hunted by large deepwater predators, and here comes a large creature bearing the brightest lights it's ever seen, making strange noises, but it does not shy away. it hovers, calmly, as the diver reaches out and trails a hand down its back. im strongly against the anthropomorphizing of real life animals but the stupid emotional part of me loudly insists this is because it recognizes us, the alternating movements of its four paired limbs matching the diver's four paired limbs, & it is thinking, "hello, cousins, we missed you these 66 million years, it's so good to see you again. welcome back, welcome home."

Ok, none of you know what's going on. None of you understand why so many women and young streamers are stepping forward right now. None of you understand why this has to be public.

Multiple large streamers have used their fame, influence, and money to manipulate and abuse those they see as below them. So long as they continue to have fame, influence, and money, this cycle will not end.

This is bigger than just individual cases of sexual assault or other abuse. This is a break down of a much larger problem within the entertainment industry.

These women are telling stories about very powerful men in this space. They are sharing stories of abuse and manipulation. This is very scary for them—it could ruin their careers or lives.

Stop saying "they should have handled this privately." This isn't a private matter. So long as these men have power, they will hurt more women. They aren't sorry. They won't play fair.

By trying to stay silent and bury these accusations, you are ensuring these women never know peace. You are ensuring that more women get hurt.

One day your boss will assault you, and all the men in your life will blame you for waiting as long as you did to speak about it. They will find any reason to blame you. They don't want to get rid of your boss. They hope that one day, they can assault a woman just like you.

This is fucking serious. This is real life. This isn't just some fucking fandom drama that we can bury and move on from. These are real life issues that require real meaningful discussion.

Stop trying to discredit these women just because your streamer is in trouble. You are part of the fucking problem.

I wanna see an essay about how/why Andrew never says "I love you" back to Ashley.

The only time we come close is when he says, "I like you, but you're exhausting."

While it can be chalked up to, he's being snarky, being an ass because he knows not saying it will upset her OR

He's so deeply in love with his sister that even saying 'I love you' in a familial way is too much for him. Saying it in any context toward Ashley may reveal too much of his own fucked up attraction that he avoids it altogether

She looks imperious, a little disapproving, like she’ll nap in his arms if she has to since she doesn’t want to be rude, but privately she thinks the conditions aren’t quite befitting an infant of her station.

Hob loves her instantly, instinctively, in a way that he thinks is going to be nearly impossible to get over.

consumed by the thought of childhood friend katsuki who's stubbornly drilled himself into the foundations of your life

growing up he barges into your house to force you to do homework together because "you're fuckin' illiterate," and in college he installs himself as your roommate and makes all your meals because "you'd eat out of a dumpster like a goddamn animal" if left to your own devices, and when you're of drinking age he always walks you to and from the bar even in the middle of the night because "you wouldn't know a direction if it slapped you in the face"

and he dislikes all your boyfriends and almost gets arrested once trying to scale an apartment building to kill one after he breaks your heart and he helps you with all your job apps after graduation and finds you an apartment together equidistant from both of your jobs and carries all the heavy stuff moving in even while he bitches and swears about it the entire time

and you realize, all these years later, that all he's ever wanted is to be with you and take care of you. you are the thing he orients himself around, always, and you realize he's loved you longer than your memory even goes back
