Mixed with a humanoid angel? That's a catgirl that's an angel catgirl. That's awesome. Human head and cat body? That's an awesome sphinx, or angel cat furries .. so cool. The template is super versatile a fire angel cat would be cool... A water angel cat would be cool ... There are different cats to choose??angel tiger? Angel leopard? So cool. Cats would be unstoppable if they could fly. There's also the thing about cats having 9 lives.. that's kinda angelic... How do you do humans because the processes has allways been complicated for me I normally need a temp let or something to make it work?

LOVE this question. Normally when i draw people, its a mix of shapes and lines, like this.

Now, I know its not as simple as just looking at my bases and getting the picture, but i love this question BECAUSE i get to talk about one of my FAVORITE THINGS, that being 3D concepts in a 2D space! When i started drawing I was suuuper inspired by 2D cartoons, I started with tracing Sonic X screenshots lol. But I ALSO wanted full control of my characters and my art, and i wanted the ability to draw them doing anything, anywhere.

So, you HAVE to start thinking about the drawings themselves as 3D concepts in your head, it's not an instant process, and it takes lots of anatomy practice. For that i have used LINE OF ACTION: Figure Study. I've used this slideshow style array of photos to practice, the key is KEEP GOING!!! They probably won't look amazing, and that's OKAY!! The only times my art ever regressed is when I stopped all together.

Try some rounds of the program, I typically did the 30 second timer, and make sure you're just focusing on the OVERALL SHAPE of the people, not any intimate details! Slowly, Surely, I promise you will start to pick up on the small details it takes to make a human out of thin air.

It really helps to map them out in a way that gets the 'bare-bones' out first. Think how logically a skeleton and a body COULD move at all.

Don't be afraid of mixing and matching shapes for different people! It encourages a sense of diversity in your art, people are different anyways. Sharper shapes for angular looks and softer circles for softer people. After I use my shapes, I draw an outline, almost mapping the skin over the skeleton, imagining what the layers of muscle/fat would do, before I give them a more "fleshed' (haha get it cus its like their skin) out look.

I don't wanna overwhelm you with a jumbo answer, so ill TLDR. 1. add the basic skeleton pose, just shapes and lines. what you want them to be doing. (Play with shapes!) 2. draw over again, imagining how their flesh and skin would react to gravity and such as you draw over again as a basic bare body. (or ignore gravity, both are fun regardless.) 3. Continue with anatomy practice, weather with images on pinterest or Line of Action. (Genuinely just love that website and i was suggested it myself many many years ago)

It's always a template, just making my own at this point lol. But never give up and im eager to see what you create! I'm always open to more questions!

Kaku Propaganda:

He's a black ops government assassin who can transform into a giraffe or a human-giraffe hybrid that is really angular for some reason. He fights using two swords and wind blades shot from his feet, but giraffes have four feet, so he can shoot wind blades from all four limbs. He can also become a cube. And suck in his neck to fire his head forward like a cannon, his nose like a square-shaped cannonball. Or suck in his neck to make his legs longer, like a pasta machine.

Boy can turn into both a straight-up giraffe and a swordfighting giraffe-man hybrid. He's also got pretty giraffe eyelashes even in his human form.

Kaku turns into a giraffe-human by being ordered to eat a devil fruit by his boss, and the first thing this man does is hop on the giraffe propaganda train, no hesitation. His collegues are wolfs and leopards. Does Kaku mope about being a giraffe? No! He literally holds a whole speech explaining why giraffes are both dope, cool and the most lethal animal on the savanna. Then proceeds to unleash the limitless destructive power of the giraffe. Kaku is the no. 1 giraffe character, hands down, no competition, I will die on this hill, give me 1000 dollars.

Godzilla Design Runway: Showa

Having finished my film watch, I've decided to make some followup posts going over my thoughts on certain aspects of the films I didn't go over in the retrospective, starting with Godzilla's design over the years, as well as the designs of derivative Kaiju. Photos sourced from Wikizilla.

ShodaiChonki (1954) The first Showa suit is arguably the best, particularly when it comes to detail and physical presence. This extra heft limits the suit's physical capabilities, but it served its role beautifully in the first film as a massive, ponderous beast. The only fault is the mismatch between the puppet and suit designs: despite the former's role in hero shots I think the latter has the more appealing face. It has an iconic dragonish air to it that many later suits homaged, but few truly captured.

Clump Scringly (1955) Similar to the films they appeared in, the second Godzilla suit has all the trappings of the original but little of the substance. GyakushuGoji's gangly proportions and oddly shaped head vacillate between comedic and unnerving. The closeup puppet certainly more alarming, with its gigantic teeth jutting out of the maw.

Simpgoji (1962) One of the more distinctly reptilian takes on the character, with its angular, lizard-like face. While it's not my personal favorite, it works very well as a contrast to the mammalian Kong. It also deserves credit for setting the template for all following Showa suits, simplifying some of the details to hold up better against the rigors of kaiju brawls.

Ol' Grumpus (1964) One of the most iconic suits, popularizing the anthropomorphized look that would define Godzilla for the rest of the Showa period, while still retaining plenty of detail. His talon-like claws provide an interesting contrast to his large eyes and ornery expression: the suit works for both comedy and menace.

Kermit the Kaiju (1965-1966) A fairly middle of the road Showa design. Similar to MosuGoji, but a lot of the finer details were lost in translation. The reduced claws make sense for Godzilla entering his heroic stage, but I miss the more defined expression and facial features from the previous suit.

Dad of Boi (1967) Arguably the worst of the Toho designs. Facial structure is a massive factor in a suit's overall impression, and MusukoGoji's frog-like features are a major flop. It's funny that they deliberately redesigned Godzilla to be more like his son, rather than designing the latter to be less rancid.

The Cursed Child, Part 1 (1967) I've said it before, but a major misstep was trying to make Minilla look like a human infant, rather than something like a puppy or a kitten. The result in a very uncanny design, especially in his larval form.

The Cursed Child, Part 2 (1967-1969) Unfortunately Minilla does not improve much with age. His gigantic brows, bulging eyes, and pig like nose seem to be an extension of Godzilla's ongoing anthropomorphism, but taking the idea to this extreme lands Minilla deep in the uncanny valley. The donkey braying doesn't help.

Old Faithful (1968-1972) The suit with the longest run, SoshingekiGoji stands out among the later Showa designs with it's fierce appearance. It fits well in Destroy All Monsters, where Godzilla is antagonistic for the bulk of the film, but it feels oddly dissonant once Godzilla really starts to embrace his heroic role, though not altogether unwelcome.

Puppy of Justice (1973-1975) The teddybear of Godzilla suits, MegaroGoji is the culmination of the Showa series march towards a more childish tone. It certainly fits its debut film well, with its friendly expression and pillowy dorsal plates. I do think its more serious countenance in the Mechagodzilla duology was a good improvement, giving the heroic appearance a slightly fiercer edge.

Fake Godzilla (1974) The Showa Mechagodzilla is still my favorite iteration of the character, with its harshly geometric appearance, retro charm, and endless arsenal. I also like its disguise's more menacing facial features, though I wish it was more consistently portrayed using the new suit rather than switching between it and MegaroGoji.

The Actual Mechagodzilla 2 (1975) An iterative improvement on the first design, MG2's more angular features and grungier finish suit its movie's darker tone. It also has the honor of being the oldest surviving Toho suit, albeit only in combination with its predecessor's lower half. Of the two, I say I'd prefer the second version over the original, but they are both only slight variations on the same iconic design.

the most proudest moment for me is just managing to get the vibes i want in a way i couldn't do in the past, the way i do my colorings, the way i do body languages (when i try) and expressions, and hands!

but most of all, its... really nice to have my own style that screams "me", i still have a lot to learn like. drawing angular shapes, more background stuff, try to keep making dynamic poses the best i can, and more. but.

over all, i think im happy with this art style, its mine and mine alone. i.. dont really need to have a realistic style or too cartoon style, the balance between it strikes better and fits me the most. i still enjoy everyones amazing styles and theyre, once more, the art inspirations and my reasoning to keep drawing. not just improving but to enjoy my arts, and sharing with others because hey! i made a thing!

OC Evolution Tag - The Beaus and The Asvang

Prior to doing The Davis Legacy, back in July 2022, I've written a story about vampires in the modern world, where Lady Lana Beau had just reawakened from her slumber. Valentina had awakened first, and was living quite well, but she had fallen in love with a werewolf and had been hiding her identity. She was looking for a way to "cure" her vampirism. In this "pilot" story, Lady Lana sought to revive her House as well, seeking to turn her family's human descendant, Zed Waylon, which is through a turned-mortal Lenora. Anyway, she ended her life in the end by burning herself, but made sure she casted a powerful spell on Zed that will keep him safe from other vampires, down to his last generation. Lady Lana was kind of sweet in this pilot story, honestly.

I think the only element that I reused in my current story was Lana seeking to rebuild her clan. The looking for a cure part only stayed with Lenora, and not to Val. The rest was removed, though I had character sheets, which I've been basing on for my current story.

First we start with Valentina. As I initially intended to share only her evolution.

Valentina Asvang's pilot character design:

This was her first design. Literally different from our Valentina now. Still, her history is just the same. An Asvang that worked hard that her power evolved. This was also the time where my sim-making is just me clicking the face templates in CAS and just tweaking them a little bit.

Valentina Asvang now:

One of my magnum opuses. She was the second character I remade for my story, and I remember messing around in CAS, and then everything just fell into place! Everything clicked. And behold, Valentina Asvang is reborn.

Beau Sisters, pilot and now:

On the first picture, from top to bottom: Lorraine, Lenora, and Lana. On the second picture, from top to bottom: Lenora, Lana, Lorraine. On their first designs, they actually had rounded and chubby faces. On their current and final version, I remade them. Lenora was based on Lana, and Lorraine was based on Lenora.

Lady Lana Beau, and her path to the current design:

Her first design was revolved around that vampire pack hair. I actually had to look for long hair CC to complement it for when her hair is down!

That vampire hair returned in her "back-in-the-day" look:

Anyway, I remade her in February 2023. She actually had a lot of tattoos back then! The first vampire to receive a redesign. Her soft features were replaced with dramatic, angular features. I wanted her to look fierce, but still the same "Enchanting Lady" that will reel you in, make you feel warm in her embrace...before you meet your end.

Fast forward to now!

I removed her tattoos :( perhaps some day she'd have it back?

Lady Lorraine and Lenora:

In the pilot and in the current story, Lorraine had always been a "blank" slate to me. Although I have written something for her, where she the most powerful in her family, that she had to be contained by marriage to Vlad, I still haven't written enough to fully realize her. All I know is that, she bore one son, named Hugo, and from what I remember from the back of my head, this Hugo was weak, like a powerful father and a powerful mother cancelled out, bearing a weak child. I also remember Lorraine being distraught for this, and will not leave her bedchamber, leaving Hugo to Vlad's care.

Lenora is still the same Lenora from before. The same vampire that wanted to love freely, that studied and sought that one thing that will turn her to mortal and live and die with her one true love. In the first iteration of the story, Lenora successfully did it, leaving behind many descendants, up to Zed Waylon. Now, her cure failed, damaging her energy and being, which left her to a state where only a handful of memories were retained in her head. She never bore a child.

Known  Alias(es):    Kafka Flüstern.

Age:    Age isn't of importance, however, her age range is that between 30's & 40's.

Gender:    Cisgender female, she/her.

Zodiac:    Scorpio.

Heritage:    Kafka hales from a planet called Pteruges-V, birthed within New Babylon. Her planet doesn't grasp the concept of Fear, nor much of any emotion. While they can mimic these emotions, FEAR is something of genuine confusion & can't be produced. Due to her natural nature & how the people of Pteruges-V are created, Kafka set out to become a Hunter in an attempt at a fulfilling & exciting life, in hopes to feel such things.

Religion:    Kafka doesn't have an EXACT pin point religion, though one could be the devotion to Elio & Destiny's Slave. She's a strict follower of The Script, deviating from it causes a disruption in her routine & daily life - something she isn't used to & tries to gain absolute control over. It is in her best interest to fulfil this script, going to great lengths that rules & examples are as followed.

Sexual  &  Romantic  Orientation:    Kafka is apathetic - leading her to become Aromantic & Asexual. Although, she can once again mimic such feelings, as well as partake in sexual activities under the guise of manipulation & creating an atmosphere of her own desire. She has no preference for the gender or species, (an example of other species are foxians. This going for any humanoid presenting species).

Status:    Alive.

Residencies:    There is no permanent residence, though Kafka tends to frequent the Astral Express (to bother the crew) & visit her little creation. (Stelle & Caelus).

Daily  Routine:  Kafka follows a strict daily routine - something learned on her planet & through Destiny's Script. Very rarely does she deviate from it, though when she does, it can sometimes derail her despite it bringing about an excitement.

Exercise  Habits:  She exercises regularly. Two hours of weight & combat training in the morning & another hour at the end of her day doing cardio.

Grooming  Habits:  Kafka ensures she's in top shape with hygiene. Always making sure to use her favorite & most expensive perfumes, hair products, facial creams, etc.

Substance  Use:  Kafka does indulge in alcohol & nicotine. She doesn't have a co-dependency on it, rather she does so in social situations instead of just doing it to do it.

Sleep  Patterns:  Sleep isn't entirely important, resting in four hour intervals will suffice. Though, occasionally Kafka prefers a nap during the day at some point - if she were entirely exhausted.

⚫️Most prized possession and why is it prized?- A painting of his family that’s hidden away in his storage room. It’s one of the few things he has from his childhood and while he doesn’t enjoy looking at it constantly, it's still important to him.

⚫️Have they ever stolen anything? We’re they caught? Do they feel guilty or prideful?- He’s stolen before (probably when he was still mortal).He doesn't go out much anymore though, and doesn’t really need anything. Besides, he owns his own shop, he definitely has at least some money. He’d been caught a few times and always acted super guilty about it, but internally he was more annoyed at being caught or guilty.

⚫️What textures do they absolutely hate to feel?- Velvet. He physically recoils after touching it. It's a personal Hell for him.

⚫️How long can they go without showering? When do they feel dirty?- There’s always a slight smell of death on him, regardless of how much he showers. He does shower fairly consistently though, just for a sense of normality and routine for him.

⚫️Where do they put there clothes when there dirty?- He’s a bit of a neatfreak so they get folded and placed in a pile for cleaning.

⚫️Do they sleep with the bedroom door open or closed and why?- Closed. Always closed. He does not trust sleeping with his door open. (So real for that)

⚫️If they woke up with animalistic features such as ears and a tail( that were different from the ones they already had if they had any at all)how would they react?- Concern, first and foremost. After the shock wears off, he’d dive into research and try to figure out how it happened and how to reverse it.

⚫️If they could only eat one thing for 20 days, what would they eat?- Does Tea count? He doesn’t really eat, so tea would be his preferable option. Maybe macaroons or cinnamon cake if he had to pick an actual food.

⚫️do they re read books they already have?- Constantly, he’s the type to annotate his books in the margins, even during rereads. 

⚫️if they had the option to know when they would die, exact date, would they want to know or would they want to stay oblivious to it?- I mean, he already knows the answer. December 21, 1859.

⚫️What song would they listen to on repeat?- Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op 13 ("Pathétique"), 3rd Movement, Rondo: Allegro (He’s a classical music fan)

⚫️Do they believe in a form of a afterlife?- I mean, he’s dealt with demons before, so yeah.

⚫️Do they crack their joints?- He constantly cracks them, knuckles, elbows, neck, all of it.

⚫️Spicy, Savory, Sweet, Bitter, or Sour?- Bitter and Sweet. He likes bitter teas, but loves sweet foods to go along with it.

⚫️Do they adopt stray animals?- He doesn’t adopt any but if he finds an injured stray, he’ll take care of them before letting them go.

⚫️Do they procrastinate or do they get it done asap?- Depends on the thing. He procrastinates with social things but if it's solo he gets it done as soon as possible.

⚫️What is the temperature when they shower? Hot. Any normal person would probably be burnt because of it, but Wruth likes it (It’s a rare time when his body isn’t ice cold)

⚫️Do they daydream?- He isn’t the type to daydream, he prefers thinking about the present (or maybe the past)

⚫️ do they work best in messy or clean environment?- Clean Environment

⚫️ do they keep personal photos? Why?- Nope. He’s a tad insecure about his body and doesn’t enjoy being reminded of it. (He thinks worse of himself than he actually is.)

⚫️Do they indulge in anything?- Tea, once again. He’s an addict.

⚫️ would they do the exact opposite that someone says to them just to spite them?- Yes. cough cough His Benefactor cough cough

⚫️ if they’re alone and they hear a noise would they go check it out or would they hide? Why?- He can’t really die so he'd investigate it. (He also knows enough people who’d probably break through his window if they really needed help)

⚫️ if they’re lost what is the first thing they do?- Panic. Panic first, then think.

⚫️ what is a dream they had that was terrifying and made no sense too them? Any dream about his Benefactor scares him. (He won’t admit it, but it absolutely does)

⚫️ what is the stupidest thing they have ever done because someone said not to do it?- He once threw a book into his fireplace to spite a certain someone. (Once again, his benefactor.)

⚫️ are they stoic or melodramatic about being injured?- The only real problem about being injured for him is the pain. He’s melodramatic about the pain (he likes screwing with people about it) but relatively stoic about the injury itself.

Short run down of their storyline-

When Wruth was 21, he contracted an illness and became deathly ill. Slowly, he barely became able to get out of bed or even walk. During the time, he spent every waking moment he had researching a way to heal himself with little luck. He eventually found books involving the supernatural during his studying.

So uhhh, the dumbass decided to summon a demon. (He was desperate, sound judgment isn’t made when desperate). The demon told him it would “cure” him in return for his loyalty. In his naïvete, he accepted. The problem was that the demon sort of lied about the deal. The demon’s idea of a cure was keeping Wruth trapped in time making it so he could never die and permanently remain loyal to him. If Wruth were to break his deal, he would proceed to become untrapped in time and shortly after die due to his illness (His illness was never cured, just paused)

He started his shop to help out others who deal with the supernatural (and possibly prevent others from making the same mistake he did) He sees it as a redemption from the things he’s done under his benefactor’s (as he calls him) orders. He’s still under contract and occasionally is forced to provide his end to the deal as ordered. Wruth hates that part of his life and tries to keep it as underwraps as possible. (He’ll deny its existence if ever brought up. You’d have to fight him to admit it.)
