After a while without uploading new things (taking advantage of the fact that we are still celebrating #MerMay and with the live-action version of The Little Mermaid about to be released) I share this pencil test tribute to Ariel, another Disney character I always wanted to animate, that she has just found a “snarfblatt” at the bottom of the sea.
It was a super interesting experience giving life to a character who is always moving fluidly and energetically underwater. Perhaps the most challenging thing has been keeping her shapes well drawn throughout the scene. I hope that, as with Simba, I have captured the essence of her.
Work on hair flow. And redid the face of the Mima. Also practiced more and learned about watercolours. Skirt detailed in redo is all water colour. Looks better.
More editing tests! I'm about halfway through the editing of the entire animatic, and I have a few shaded frames to go. But hopefully, it will be done soon. I can't wait to return to regular art pieces instead of dedicating my every breath to this one massive project. ;w;
How to piss haters off, and here they come, 3, 2, 1 go! ROTFLMAO 🤣

I saw @timtadder and @hersh.dhillon play with this concept of the Mona Lisa and wanted to put my own spin on it by animating it with different ethnicities. Which painting should I switch up next?
This was the tutorial I used to learn about how to use the style function in the video timeline. I've seen the function a few times while creating animations but I wasn't sure what it did. This tutorial helped me learn the basics and gave me a few ideas for my animation. It's quite an interesting effect, and I could possibly use it to create smooth transitions from one scene to another.
I decided to do a trailer cut edit of what my fmp was meant to be. This trailer animatic includes some of the scenes from my previous animatic and also includes sections of the dance part of the animation in between different scenes
