Guess who did not die and brought a new animatic!

I wanted to make a video about Glanni with this song for a long time, because it is 100% about him. Soooooo this animatic is literally the plot of GGíL with some exaggerations (you'll see)

A small explanation: for me Latibær and Lazytown are different places (which is why I took Solla's design from the first play - not to confuse her with Stephanie). Latibær is a big city and Lazytown is a town on the suburbs.

Glanni Glæpur í Latabæ takes place about 16 years before Stephanie arrives in Lazytown. So Glanni is 23 years old here, Íþró is 32.

Íþró is the hero number 9 and Sportacus' elder brother, he is the hero of Latibær.

Cold nights were the best nights for interrogations. The man was thrown on the ground, feeling the sharp rocks stick on his arm he whined in pain some and rubbed his arm staying on the ground. “Listen, listen to me please I promise I’ll have your money by next month I need more time-“ soon a sharp kick was to his chest. “We gave you time. And it’s been ran out. So cough it up old man.” The figure spoke with the purple bandana over his mouth. The other figures were searching the car finding luggage and airplane tickets.

“Trying to run out on us Robert?”

Robert, still on the rocky ground, looking up seeing the figure come closer and removed the bandana. “Rhea…” He mumbled and scooted back some. Seeing fear in his eyes only made Rhea smile. “What’s wrong Robby? Looking like you seen a ghost.” She smirked. “I’m tired of giving chances on you know that.” “Please I just need a little more time. I won’t run I promise.” Rhea just sighed and pulled out a small yet sharp knife, pointing it on Robert’s neck as Finn and Damien revealed themselves next. “You’re wasting my time Robby. You always do. But we give you break after break because you keep mentioning your family. Speaking of which, how is your family? You know the one you haven’t seen in weeks?” His eyes widened seeing he was caught in his lies. “Yea I asked some of my police dogs to run by your house and your wife was so worried. You haven’t been home in weeks. Your children haven’t seen you in weeks and you-“ she pointed the tip in his neck seeing some blood show. “-you lie to me. I take family very seriously Robby ol boy.” She hissed. He looked in her eyes seeing nothing but a black soul, bodies have seen her face before they die slow. “So what, you hop on a plane? And go where? I have connects out my ass to make sure your life is a living hell.” She continued smiling. Soon Damien felt his phone vibrate, he looked at the contact and sighed some walking away from the conflict to answer.

“Princess not now we are working.”

On the other side on the phone was their prize possession. All of theirs. Y/N pouted as she was in her big king sized bed, watching the canopy flow from the vent giving her fresh air. “But papa, where are you guys? It’s getting lates and mama said we can watch a movie…” she whined. Damien forgot about the movie night, it slipped his mind as he found out that Robert was trying to skip down from the police officers they hired. “You are right we are sorry Princesa, let me tell the rest and we will be on our way. Do you want some sweets?” He always spoils her rotten along with Rhea. “Hmm, kettle corn please?” He smiled. “Ok I’ll get it for you. But no getting outta bed waiting for us.” “Yes sir! I love you papa!” She quickly hung up getting in bed grabbing her one of many jumbo pokemon stuffed animals waiting for her caregivers to come home.

“Wrap it up.” Damien called out and Dom nodded going to get a large can out from their trunk. Gasoline. Robert watched him the whole time but was quickly back on Rhea. “You’re a lucky son of a bitch.” She hisses and puts her knife away. “You look like you need some weight off though, why don’t you have a nice stroll home.” She smiled and soon a single match was set by Finn as Dominic finished up soaking his belongings and car in the fluid. “The next time I see you, is with our funds along with you so you can keep your fucking scumbag of a life.” She whispered in his ear as he watched his car go in flames and the men walk away to their car. Rhea stood up from her knee and waved goodbye, but first turned around with dark eyes. “Another week. Or else you’re dead.” She smiles hearing the crackle of fire from the burning car. They drove away as they heard Robert cry out in anger and pain as he lost his last way to get out of his situation.

“Ok, she wanted sweets?” Rhea asked removing her bandana and putting it in the glove department. “Kettle corn, Finn did you make sure she drunk some-“ Before Damien could finish, Finn showed him a picture of the water bottle he bought her with times on it. All the way down to the bottom. “Awesome. Dom did you text drew to make sure she was finished with her activities?” Dom blinked forgetting about her homework activities, and he’s pretty sure he didn’t tell drew. “Imma take that as a no. It’s ok I’m pretty sure she finished some of it.” Damien said in hope. “Damien we were busy all day and Drew is a good babysitter-“ “Yea but we all need to make sure she does what she’s suppose to.” He said. Rhea rolled her eyes and pulled up to the side store to get the big bad of kettle corn.

Drew was knocked out on the couch, the team looking down at him in annoyance. “Well I’m glad she’s still breathing.” Damien sighed and went to get the rest of the snacks ready for her. “Drew get up.” Rhea punched him up and he jumped. “Ah fuck don’t scare me like that.” He huffed looking around. “Fuck how long was I out?” “Who knows but you’re in trouble~” Dom teased and Finn pushed him out the way. “You were suppose to be watching her.” Drew soon remembered and sighed. “My bad. I was just tired.” He soon noticed a black blanket was around him and he smiled some.

Earlier when we was watching over the house and her, he was yawning a lot as he was finishing up the dishes and getting Y/N ready for bed. She watched him the whole time rubbing his eyes and bags forming. “Uncle Drew?” She said lightly and he grumbled as he was sat down on the couch. “Sorry munchkin I don’t really feel like playing.” She smiled and nodded as she already had the blanket ready. “Mind going up to bed dear? I’ll be there I’m just getting myself together.” She nodded and laid the blanket to the side as she went upstairs slow. After a while, maybe a hour, she tip-toed back down and she saw he was out cold sleeping. She took the blanket and put it over him and kissed his cheek heading back up so he wouldn’t get in trouble for not tucking her in.

“Welp she would have been down by now if she was awake so she probably sleep.” Rhea sighs. “I’ll check.” Finn saids and he jogs up. Finn then goes in the door and she’s the bed sleeping peacefully, he smiled and slithers in. She had the covers half way on her so Finn fixed the blanket giving her a soft kiss on the cheek. A soft smile was shown after on her face as he went back to the door leaving out. “Yea she’s sleep.” He confirmed and everyone smiled. “We could just have a movie day tomorrow. Get her somebody snacks and then go to the park or something.” Rhea was planning. They come home happily to her, give her anything she needs and wants. Spoil her rotten. That was their princess. No one elses. Everyone else sees them as evil and ruthless people, but in her eyes she sees them as a safe haven, not an ounce of evil no where in sight, and they love every moment.

Nothing was better than having their princess in their arms.

Could a LazyTown Revival Work?

Earlier this week, it was announced that Magnus Scheving, the creator of the hit preschool live-action series LazyTown, had bought back the rights to the series from WBD, with impending plans to bring the series back to a new generation as a reboot under his wings.

This would not be the first time LazyTown has, or attempted to be, revived. The original series only lasted two seasons before being commissioned by Sprout for two more after the series' massive success in the USA. After the end of the show's run, a movie was pitched, but ultimately ended up being scraped for unknown reasons.

In concept, this seems like a great thing. LazyTown was initially created as a combative show against rising cases of childhood obesity worldwide, and the Icelandic obesity rate actually dropped as after the release of the show. LazyTown encourages kids to be healthy- to get outside, eat nutritiously, and take care of themselves and others. With the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting today's children, bringing this show back to a new audience would be great.

And, LazyTown wouldn't be completely unknown to the public, either. According to a Collider article, LazyTown's following hasn't died down in the slightest, with the show amassing over 5.5 billion views on Youtube alone. It is clear that Sportacus, Stephanie, and Robbie Rotten are long from being forgotten totally.

However, not everything about a reboot would be too exciting.

For instance, there would be no Robbie Rotten. Stefan Karl Stefansson, Robbie's actor, passed in August of 2018 after a battle with bile duct cancer. While Robbie's actor could easily be replaced or his character in general be swapped out for a new gimmick, nothing would be completely able to mimic the personality of the iconic villain.

Also, if the show did come back, there's a high chance that it wouldn't be in the same form that we all know and love. Shows such as Caillou and Barney have also made their triumphant returns, albeit in the same CGI models, straying far away from their original forms, 2D and live-action respectively. Animation, specifically 3D, is more efficient to produce them mixed media or live action, and with more children flocking to brightly-colored, YouTube based animation, making LazyTown an animated series would not only result in flexibility in choosing actors for the characters, but also boost ratings more likely than not.

This isn't to say that live-action reboots, such as Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, and the upcoming Yo Gabba Gabbaland can't be successful- it's just not necessarily in the norm.

Now that Magnus has the rights to the show back, the question also arises on which channel this reboot, if produced, would air on. LazyTown did air on Nick Jr. at one point, and also made appearances on the now-defunct Sprout. Chances are since they willingly gave up the rights to this show, WBD channels probably will not be airing it, assuming it goes mainstream and doesn't become a Youtube-exclusive.

If done correctly, I think this reboot could be very successful! After all, it has happened once, so why not again. But, it goes without saying that it certainly wouldn't be the same for what we are used to from the franchise.

Really cute headcanon I have is that Johnny and Daniel basically becoming surrogate grandpas to all the students kids. They act like a old married couple when they see each other when they end up in the same room with the baby’s.

Johnny is the fun non strict grandpa that basically does the most crazy shot ever around the kids and lets them do what ever they want. He’s the guy who brings the the kids snack and gas station junk food when he visits. “

Daniel is the more strict but still fun loving grandpa. He brings them toys and stuffed animals, takes them on car rides. You can’t tell me he doesn’t take them out on a row boat on summer days. He basically spoils them rotten.

They both spoil the babies in their own ways. It's so sweet of them, but Johnny will ever admit to it. He doesn't like the idea of "spoiling" the kids because it sounds soft. He doesn't want to be a softie. Daniel teases him for it though anyway.

Also, Johnny with the chocolate bars reminds me of my grandma- like, there's pictures of me as a baby, not even 6 months old, covered in candy or chocolate. Johnny gives the kids M&Ms and walks away and when Daniel comes around, there's melted chocolate everywhere.

I can also see the kids always happy at the mention of "Papa Danny" and "Granpa J." They love going to the dojo or to either of their places, though they mostly take the kids to Daniel's place because Johnny's house is in no way baby proof.

Johnny brings Nerf guns to get togethers and someone always gets hurt. He never learns, even after Robby, Sam or Hawk yells at him for it.

The Prince of Void [symbols: crown, shadow]

The Prince class has its basis in Machiavelli’s The Prince. An example would be Prince Hamlet from the Shakespeare play.

The Void aspect’s main theme is the unknown. You can find its official description here.

A Prince of Void is among those who alter knowing and perceiving. This is the “classpect group” they belong to. Members include: the Sylph, Maid, Bard, and Prince of Void/Light. These classes are all opposites or inverses of each other that alter the Void/Light dichotomy (knowing and perceiving). A description of classpect groupings can be found here.

The Prince of Void actively destroys the Void aspect. Active classes tell themselves what to do and do so for their own benefit. They are more likely to stand up for themselves, but more likely to be cruel. Princes and Bards destroy their aspect and everything it symbolizes, while using that same aspect as a weapon. In doing so, they leave their opposite aspect in their wake. Due to their actions, they come across as their opposite aspect. Simplified, the Prince of Void is motivated by themselves to destroy the unknown. In personality, they come across as the Light aspect, seemingly defined by awareness.

On the subject of personality, the Prince of Void wants to have control over things and is very independent. Personality descriptions can be found here.

Their archetype is the Promised Spy, defined by control and secrecy. Archetypes are explained here.

Their opposite is the Bard of Light, who passively destroys awareness.

Their inverse is the Sylph of Light, who passively assists awareness.

A classpect or “god tier” is an individual’s best self. All classpects go through a journey from unrealized, to struggle, to realized. When a character is unrealized, they neutrally exist as their inverse. On their struggle, they will wildly flip back and forth between their inverse and true classpect. In their worst moments they will act as their inverse, in their best their true classpect. When realized, they will stabilize as their true classpect. They will still have room to grow, but will become happier, more successful people.

This means that the Prince of Void begins life motivated by others to assist awareness. When their struggle arrives and they are at their worst, they will continue this behavior in negative extremes. However, when at their best, they will find purpose in instead destroying the unknown for themselves. When realized, they will stabilize and continue to destroy the Void aspect actively, in a positive way.

They share their archetype with the Thief of Blood, the Spy Promised.

The Prince of Void would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Light [Opposite Aspect] and Void [Aspect]. An example would be the Land of Eyes and Whispers. An explanation of planet naming conventions can be found here.

Two possible gods, or denizens, to reign over their planet would be Nyx (Goddess of Night) or Poseidon (God of the Sea). Other Void aspect denizens can be found here.

When the Prince of Void completes their planet quests and dies on their quest bed, they would rise to ascension on the wings of bats (symbols of night). A list of soul animals can be found here.

Commentary/Context/Memories: damn we could watch this for hours.

[Mod A: I did watch parts of this show, I remember having a crush on Stephanie (the pink-haired girl) haha. Stephanie has moved to Lazytown to live with her Uncle, Mayor Meanswell. While there, she meets Sportacus, an athletic hero that is trying to encourage the inactive residents to live healthier lifestyles; each episode, Stephanie helps him with a specific kid/adult that has a health issue in their life (not enough veggies, too much video games, etc) and encourages them to find something athletic they enjoy. Their nemesis is Robbie Rotten (notable tumblr sexyman) who plots to make LazyTown lazy again, but Stephanie and Sportacus outwits him every time. Things I didn’t know about this show: it had an Eurodance soundtrack, the creator was an aerobics champion Magnús Scheving, it was dubbed in thirty languages/aired in over 180 countries, and finally was one of the most expensive children’s shows ever because of their combination of live action, puppetry and computer-generated animation. There’s this Icelandic animated short film from 2002 called The Lost Little Caterpillar and I think everyone should watch it despite the strange but unique CGI animation. It’s about a little Caterpillar who journeys through the garden trying to discover who she is and what it means to be beautiful. The caterpillar looks like some kind of little green goblin or little green garden elf lurking in the trees and grass. Throughout the film, she is bullied by the other insects in the garden, they call her ugly, fat, etc., tell her what she can and can’t do, and she almost gets eaten twice (by a spider and by a bird). There are also some kind insects in the film, such as a wise worm who gives her advice about what it really means to be beautiful and how important it is treat others with kindness, no matter how “ugly” they may be. The worm was voiced by the late Stefan Karl Stefansson (a.k.a Robbie Rotten from LazyTown). But I really think that everyone should watch this film at least once in their life because it teaches us a lesson of how it is always important to be kind to others no matter how “ugly” or “strange” they may seem, because you never know if they are really a beautiful butterfly on the inside.
