Anna - Half-Elf, Artisan, Warlock (Arch Fey) & Light Cleric of Tymora

7. What circumstances led to your Tav becoming their Class/Subclass?

Anna entered into a pact shortly after fleeing an abusive lover. It was not the best of plans, to just leave him and Baldur’s Gate as fast as possible for another city where she could start over but she feared for her life. How she met her patron one could say was a whole lucky meet-cute story. She literally stumbled over them and profusely apologized. Charmed by her sweet nature, good manners and also finding out why she was in such a hurry, the fey extended to her a bargain for power and also taught her how to enchant her goods. However, all of Anna’s enchantments always turn out to have a tiny bit of chaos to them but nothing her customers will ever notice… usually. 

Unlike Wyll, Anna and her patron have a mostly respectful, sometimes chaotic, very protective, and loving relationship. But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Anna is well aware fey can be fickle, easily offended, and therefore dangerous. For starters, she suspects her patron is behind her abusive lover’s untimely and grisly demise. Something she found out years later after her patron coaxed her into returning to Baldur’s Gate with assurances that with her new powers, she would not need to leave and she could disappear easily enough in the large city. 

Currently, her patron on occasion only asks her to do some odd and seemingly harmless things to set off a little chaos in the world. What seems like a few setups for pranks or displacing a stone from a circle of them in some forest. Some of these things lead to disastrous results but nothing fatal for anyone… usually. Her patron loves chaos like most fey and was tickled pink when she stole the Blood of Lathander mace. Anna is also obligated to help other fey in need from the Seelie court like the pixie in the lamp. Killing fey from the Unseelie court such as hags and redcaps also delights her patron as well.

As for her becoming a Light Cleric of Tymora, that happened later. I guess all those prayers for luck and in offering gratitude along with her boldness when it came to adventure caught the goddess's attention. With it came some of her divine favor.

12. What opinion does your Tav have about the Gods?

It all depends upon the god or goddess. Although she leans towards good-aligned deities she doesn’t give a hoot who one worships so long as it doesn’t cause any harm to those she cares about, herself, and any nearby innocents. She's not deeply motivated to convert anyone. However, she did think Shadowheart was naive for worshiping Shar. A thought she kept to herself for the most part as she gently guided Shadowheart back to her original goddess Selûne.

To most deities, she’s not about to push her luck and be rude. Any stranger that crosses her path she strives to always be polite because one can never know when one will show up in disguise. If they offer her a boon for completing a task she would rarely pass the chance up.

Out of all of them Tymora, Anna prays to the most followed by extending respects to Jergal, Lathander, Ilmater, Loviatar, and Corellon Larethian too.

30. What are your Tav’s intentions/goals after the end of the game?

Besides, scold Dammon for treating her like a carrier pigeon and then promptly seduce him if she hasn't already? She wants to go back to making jewelry, drawing, sculpting, and painting. She wants to wallow in luxury at least for a few months after roughing it for so long and have a few kids. More adventure? Naw… well not unless it’s to help Dammon, and Wyll find a solution for Karlach's heart. Or help Astarion find a cure or some solution so he can walk in the sun again along with helping keep seven thousand spawn in the Underdark in check.

16. In dreams - wren (tiefling storm sorc/feylock x gale)  nudity / general horniness

You know we don’t actually exist here, right? This is just a, a figment of our tadpole connection--

Gale’s voice is an echo all around them. Wren crosses her arms, motioning to the arctic environment they’ve been shoved into, a mutual dream of her home-- Icewind Dale, the icy crown of the Sword Coast. The night sky is empty of clouds, and the aurora twists into colorful shapes, some she recognizes, some too fuzzy for her to make out in the dream.

Oh no, I didn’t realize. Wren shoots back, arms crossed over her bare chest, which Gale so politely averts his gaze from. That we aren’t freezing, completely naked, in one of the coldest Areas of Faerun.

Gale stumbles over his words, muttering something under his breath, but Wren just giggles to herself, throwing her hands out and flopping down into the snow. It smells like a mix of rotten eggs and her mother’s perfume at first, and then she focuses, pushing the scent from her nose, and it shifts to the crisp scent of applewood, and then, as her gaze travels over to the hairy behind of her wizard companion, the snow around her begins to smell even more familiar.

Violet blush, a shade darker than her skin tone, creeps up her cheeks, her body flushes despite the cold, as Gale turns to catch her looking. A wry grin spreads across his lips. Admiring something? He says in her mind.

The dream feels fuzzy, and she struggles to keep the picture straight. It isn’t fair, she thinks, that this is the first time she sees him naked. In a dream, of all things. And not even a naughty one, with a fake Gale who does whatever weird thing she’s imagined. No, she has to have a psychic connection to the guy she has a crush on. She bet if she had a sex dream about him he’d probably get it beamed right into his head. Instead, she’s stuck in the middle of the Reghed Glacier, buck ass naked and conscious of every move.

The wizard in question flops down, stomach first, beside her, and suddenly the snow is no longer snow, but a poof of white clouds. Gale laughs quietly, blowing a bit of cloud out of his face, and Wren can’t help but laugh along. 

It isn’t fair, she thinks, that this is all just a dream. In the morning, they’ll wake up in different tents, and pretend it never happened. 

31. Breeze - astarion (x my druid tav but she’s just mentioned)

It will be the afternoon breeze he will miss the most, he decides, sitting on the edge of the slow-running river they’ve stopped to bathe in. Ophielora, like the newborn fawn he is often comparing her to, wobbles in the water as she splashes Karlach, her smallclothes sticking to her tanned skin. He waits on the riverbank, his pants rolled up and shirt discarded, hesitating. Water is the final triumph. Running water had always hurt the most-- a burning off of his skin, like hot acid. It scares him even now, but he braves it, for the sake of not having to listen to Shadowheart’s snide comments, sharp enough to match his own tongue.

The summer wind ruffles his snow white hair, and he squints up to look at the trees hanging high above them. He has experienced night-time storms and windy nights, yes, but under the watchful gaze of the sun, the wind is warm and welcoming, a sense of things to come. He has a sudden urge to look over his shoulder-- Cazador, on the wind, a mist and then-- but shakes his head as water droplets hit his face, blown towards him by the wind.

Ophielora waves towards him, slender arm raised in the air-- his head thrums softly. A pull on the tadpole, their shared connection, or just a coincidence?

The wind is gentle on his neck, and it blows the ghost of Cazador back into the woods. 

He will miss the sunshine-filled breeze, he thinks, looking at his companions in the water, his gaze settling on the naive little druid who won’t stop smiling in his direction. 

It is the only thing that truly scares the ghosts away.

i’m not a proshipper, however, and anything illegal or uncomfortable for me is a no-go. (i’m down for relationships with aspects of toxicity but absolutely Nothing that crosses the line into abuse.)

30 Questions for your Tav

Anna - Half-Elf, Artisan, Warlock (Arch Fey) & Light Cleric for Tymora

18. What is your Tav’s greatest fear?

Betrayal. Specifically, falling in love with someone who becomes as controlling and abusive as her first lover or something even worse. Ascendant Astarion would be Anna’s absolute worst nightmare. 

If Astarion had decided to go through with the ritual she would have broken it off with him the moment it was over. Seven thousand lives, that much blood on his hands, would instantly sicken her alone. She would, however, stomach her repulsion and pragmatically keep him as a distant ally until the elder brain was destroyed.

Even if an ascendant Astarion were to ever bother to try and coax her back, she would refuse him coldly. She has zero desire to become a spawn or anyone’s possession again no matter how gilded the cage might be. She’d sooner die but not without trying to take that person down with her in the process. So long as Astarion keeps his distance and behaves himself she would plot on how to cure him if possible. But she would have little qualms over the idea of putting him down like a rabid dog if he started killing innocents.

19. What is your Tav’s greatest desire?

To have a peaceful life honing her craft and art along with having a large family. A mix of biological kids and adopted ones. If Astarion doesn’t want that she will find a partner that would and that partner would be Dammon.

I do see Anna and Astarion loving one another deeply but can also see their relationship becoming strained after things settled down. I’m not sure settling down is in his nature, to be honest. If they split up it would be amicable or… an understanding could develop between the three. He’s free to possibly explore something with say Sebastian while Anna and Dammon are more his homebodied spouses raising kids and enjoying their trades. In the end, Anna yearns to watch her family grow and have someone with whom she can grow old with too at her side.

20. What is your Tav’s greatest regret?

Believing-clinging to the idea that there should only be a “one and only.” She blames that toxic ideal of how one should save oneself and only have one lover as to why she put up with her abuser for so long. She regrets not giving up on such a hopeless cause and freeing herself of him sooner. Of being scared of being single and alone. But at least now she’s not afraid to be alone anymore. She will also not tolerate being mistreated ever again.

Right now? Of all time? Hmm. I’m always gonna melt for MC x Haurchefant (FFXIV) content. It’s just... so wholesome; he’s incredibly devoted and deserves so much love. I’ve recently thrown myself into The Arcana and MC x Julian is EVERYTHING. And then ships I’m excited to see more of are MC x Astarion (Baldur’s Gate 3) and MC x Aeran (Wayfarer) AND I WILL DEAL WITH THE TORTURE OF THE LATTER. Consider me the Secret-Aeran-Route Playtester, Anna. This is just the way it is.

HOW’S IT GOING?

Hm. It’s definitely going. Not gonna lie, the past couple months have been really rough (yes, even considering the hellish vortex that was the rest of 2020). I’m no longer on meds for ADHD because the insurance I was eligible for made them a whopping $300 per month, while the insurance itself was also $300 per month. And listen, I’d love to be medicated but... not at that cost. I’m struggling to feel like I’m doing an acceptable job at work most days, but that’s probably because my office is pretty shit at training and even a year later, myself and a couple other new people still regularly miss things. But! besides that, I’m hanging in. Just trying to do things I enjoy, regardless of how indulgent. Lots of games to play and movies/tv to watch. Lots of takeout. Lots of cat cuddles.
