Frozen: Winter Festival: A new short? | News
Guyyss we might possibly have brand new Frozen content on the horizon!! A new short could be coming out soon!
All credits go to @/girliesandghouls on Instagram. Today, leaks have come out for some Frozen Dolls on Amazon set for release on September 1st. These are the images released.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These dolls are titled "Mattel Frozen Fashion Dolls". These specific ones are the "Icy Ice Skating" Elsa and Anna. We also have Olaf with an ice cart, Frozen carriage and doll play set, and Frozen ball gown 2 pack.
The details for the dolls are:
Tumblr media
This confirms that Frozen: Winter Festival is some kind of feature, most likely and possibly a short. But more on that in a bit.
The new looks:
They look good but I want to look deeper into what their outfits really look like. These dolls definitely give Olaf's Frozen Adventure vibes with the blues and the winter outfits:
For Anna, her hair seems to be fully done and not in any kind of style unlike Frozen 2 when she had braids at the back of her hair. He jacket has the same structure as her OFA one with the collar, sleeves, the waistline and the buttons. She has a black bodice with the familiar pointed down waistline. Her skirt is the gradient of dark blue. With a similar pattern to her Frozen blue skirt. It could be the same length as that. Her boots however are much shorter than the usual high boots we've seen on her previous looks. They even have a fluffy rim around it and laces too. The boots are a purple pink like her cape in Frozen but because it's a doll, it's probably more detailed in the actual short or feature. I absolutely love her look. I love her OFA look so I'm excited for this one too. Obviously it's going to be more detailed in the short because dolls simplify things.
For Elsa, her hairstyle seems to be the same as her Fifth Spirit look. Elsa's dress is giving me more of her dress under her Frozen 2 coat vibe with the lines, snowflake designs and sparkles and her leggings/ trousers. But I think the purple part of her dress is that sequin type look of that frozen 2 dress under her coat. Her dress has an asymmetrical shape to it being lifted from the front. Her previous longer dresses have a train at the back however this dress could be shorter with no train just to show her leggings and also for ice skating purposes, so the train doesn't get caught. Her dress has a blue to purple gradient to it at the skirt and the sleeves like her classical ice dresses as well as the familiar pointed down sleeve ends. Her ice sandals have been ditched for ice heels again which I love. Elsa's cape is roughly the same length as the back of Elsa's dress and has a white to purple gradient to it. The shape seems to be the same as her previous longer ice dresses being from the back or under arms. Her leggings are also purple. Overall I think I love this look. As I said for Anna it's going to be more detailed in the short because dolls simplify things. And I love how Elsa isn't in white because it's not her main iconic colour unlike blue. And purple as her accent colour makes sense as her cape is a bluish purple in her Fifth Spirit look.
To clarify, these looks are the "Icy Ice Skating" looks, not the ball gown ones. The ball gown looks have not yet been leaked yet.
These are the Frozen and Frozen 2 Mattel dolls for outfit comparison:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah we can see that the previous Frozen Mattel dolls have simplified some of the details the actual looks have so it's gone these looks from Frozen: Winter Festival is simplified too.
So with these looks analysed briefly, I'm so excited for their ball gown looks. They haven't had a ball gown look since Frozen when Elsa had her coronation. So just imagine their full length dresses stunning again.
The new short?
So most likely this is from a new short in the works. Some of us probably weren't expecting anything new let alone a short before the big two part movies but some of us were hoping. And looks like it's true. It makes sense to have a short now because Frozen 3 isn't coming until 2026! Some of us were expecting they'd keep the 6 year gap and release it next year in 2025 but they have made the gap 7 years from Frozen 2. So it's great to have another short while we wait.
I believe this short could be out this year and be in front of Moana 2 in November. Mostly because that release date is Frozen's usual release month and Moana is highly anticipated so it's a good strategy to get people to see this short if theatrical. And also because if the short is set in winter, it makes sense to release it closer to Winter time. That's obviously just my guess. But to think that this short is set in winter means it'll give that Frozen and OFA vibe that is iconic to the franchise. I say that because I know Frozen 2 is controversial to the fandom for understandable reasons and with the autumn vibe the theme of change really screams out. So it's nice to be back in the winter element again with the sisters together.
And if some of you believe this is a leak of Frozen 3, I would completely deny that because I doubt we'd get a leak so soon, more than 2 years before it's release date. With all we know of Frozen 3 behind the scenes too, the leaks seem to be tightly sealed because the movies sound big and any details given could spoil it for us of course. Besides a Short around this time makes much more sense.
As for the runtime of this short, that's obviously not known but if we were to guess, it would be 20 - 30 minutes because if any shorter they would only have time for one look. Frozen Fever was 7 minutes and Olaf's Frozen Adventure was 22 minutes. OFA had one main look but Anna's look was slightly adapted for the search for the Olaf scene, consisting of a blue snow hat, her two iconic braids and blue mitten gloves similar to that of Frozen. So it's possible that this short is slightly longer than OFA to have a decent amount of time on both outfits.
When the ball gown dolls leak I'll analyse them too. So keep your eyes peeled.

"You make me look graceful." "You make me look happy."
Tumblr media
This very brief moment from the 2015 novel A Frozen Heart written by Elizabeth Rudnick that I don't see too many people talk about...
"I think my toes are permanently crushed from the Duke’s so-called dance moves." She looked up at him.
"What? You didn’t enjoy that?" Hans replied, his tone teasing. "I figured that was the highlight of your night."
Anna giggled. "Are you kidding me? I have enough trouble dancing as it is. I don’t need help looking less graceful." She paused, as if weighing her next words. Then, in a rush, she said,
"You make me look graceful."
Her honesty surprised Hans, and he found himself saying the next words before he could stop himself.
"You make me look happy."
Instantly, he wished he could take it back.
Unredeemable monster. Greatest mistake of Anna's life. Wouldn't even kiss her. Yes, yes, I know. But I like to think Hans, in this specific blink-and-you-miss-it moment that lasted 10 seconds, had his guard lowered.
— Art by Denise Shimabukuro from the pre-Frozen book Anna's Icy Adventure. Huge thanks to @snoweowl for sharing it with us on Discord, and to @virtual-winter for compiling the illustrations! ❄️

Arendelle Castle Rooms: Part 1 | Analysis
I've been meaning to make clear posts based on the rooms in Arendelle Castle because I love them and the castle and why not. I have tons of references so I'm going to use them to put the pieces together.
Let's begin part 1 with Elsa and Anna's room.
1. Elsa's bedroom
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Ref: Concept art | End of 'Frozen Fever')
Elsa's room used to be both Elsa and Anna's room when they were small but right after the incident that led to their 13 year long distance, Anna was forced to move to a different room. Elsa's room is mainly purple with pink accents. She has a big queen size canopy bed held back around it, on the left side horizontally upon entering her room. She has chairs around the room and a triangular window with a seat in front of it where she can sit and look out of. Next to her bed, in the left hand corner is a big fire place. Below her bed she has a long rectangular rug stretching out to the other side of the room and in front of her fireplace, a circular rug is placed. Anna's room has the exact same layout but in the opposite direction so though we can't see the other side of Elsa's room, we can assume what is there. Along the wall the door is on, there are 2 tables and in the right hand corner is a dressing screen. Opposite the bed is there is a table that has the two pots of flowers.
In Frozen Fever however, when Elsa is seen back in her room when Anna feeds her the cold remedy, it looks like the bed is on the other side, given you can't see the fireplace and the white rectangles on the wall are shown. This could be a continuity error as the headboard too isn't decorated with the designs it would normally have on it. So that would mean Elsa's bed is in the same position as seen in the concept art.
2. Anna's bedroom
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ref: Concept art | Elsa goes to Anna's room in 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' | Beginning of "Making today a perfect day" in 'Frozen Fever' | 'All around Arendelle' book)
Anna's bedroom is mainly pink and much warmer in terms of colour tone as a contrast to Elsa's cooler purple/ pink tone. Anna's room has the exact same layout as Elsa's as I mentioned above but in opposite directions. So the bed would be on the right hand side, upon entering her room, the dressing screen in the bottom left corner, the fireplace on the top right hand corner, 2 tables alongside the wall the door is on, and the table of flower pots alongside the left wall.
Side fact:
In Frozen Fever one of those flower pots are of sunflowers and the other one of the 6 petal pink flowers that Elsa uses for her dress which are called rain lilies or also known as Zephyranthes or the Cuban Zephyr Lily. When Elsa uses these flowers on her dress, she gives them an icy touch and adds a simple snowflake on top of the flower to freeze them onto her dress. However, Anna's sunflowers that Elsa puts onto her attire and hair don't have that snowflake effect meaning she probably just used her telekinesis (the power of lifting things up) and frosted them onto her attire without changing the colour.
In Olaf's Frozen Adventure we learn that Anna has an attic above her room however it's filled with trunks of Elsa's stuff such as satin gloves and Elsa's crocheted toy penguin. In the room itself, it seems that the room has had a layout change. The bed has moved across the other side of the room and the rectangular rug isn't there. Instead the circular rug has moved down in front of the bed. That would mean the dressing panel and the table of flowers is moved to where the bed was in Frozen Fever. However the long painting or embroidered wall piece has been kept in the same place alongside the dressing tables too. Bearing in mind that Olaf's Frozen Adventure takes place before Frozen Fever, it could be that the bed and rug misplacement is just a continuity error and in fact the bed is just in the same place as in the concept art above.
The book, 'All around Arendelle' shows that the sisters rooms are the side top two panels of the front of the castle, as shown below but that is proven wrong in Frozen 2.
Tumblr media
In Frozen 2, as Iduna finished her song, "All is found", she carries young Elsa to the triangular window. As the camera zooms out of the room, we start seeing structure from outside the castle. The structure shows that Anna's room is the top main front triangular window as circled above. There's the same window at the back of the castle suggesting that Elsa's room is directly opposite hers and at the back while Anna's at the front of the castle. The front has two triangular windows on the right while the back has two on the right and Frozen 2 showed the tips of the two windows on the right confirming Anna's room at the front. Remember that Anna and Elsa's shared room is actually Anna's room now and it was Elsa who was forced to move out of their room then.
Part 2 will go into the other rooms of the castle starting with the hallway out of Anna's room.

Even in your childhood Marie felt as though she was required to look and act a certain way. She would always dress a certain way, act a certain way, and try to prove that just because she was born in a tiny village it did not mean that she could not be a lady worthy of nobility. This earned her more than her fair share of rivals and bullies, but through it all you stuck to her side. When she ran away from home shortly after her sixteenth birthday it was supposedly to find a life worthy of her, but instead all she found was hardship and despair. After you reconnect it is up to you if you will help her climb out of the darkness and whether or not you two can be together as something more than friends.
Rory Graytail* | Guild Blacksmith Age: 23 Height: 5'8" Build: Muscular, curvy Eye Color: Heterochromatic (Left Brown, Right Green) Hair Color: Black/Dark brown Skin Tone: Olive Notable Features: Scar under left eye Combat Style: Lance, strength, and agility Character Traits: Caring, Gruff, Foul-mouthed Tropes: Friends-to-Lovers, Woman in Peril, Teammates
A talented adventurer and prodigy blacksmith, Rory is a member of the adventurers guild in the kingdom's capital. Once the oldest twin, her younger brother died at the same time as their father and since then Rory has become a gruff individual who tends to scare most people away with her bad attitude and brusque tongue. But despite these faults Rory deeply cares for those closest to her and will typically go out of her way to make them feel loved. Unfortunately she also tends to rush into problems without thinking and this has led her into many situations that put her, and those around her, in more danger then they would normally be in.
Shoshanna (Anna) Graytail-Hunter* | Guild Herbalist/Alchemist Age: 26 Height: 6'2” Build: Slender Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Blonde Skin Tone: Pale Notable Features: Very graceful, Extremely shy Combat Style: Ranged (Rifle) Character Traits: Caring, Shy, Excitable, Very intelligent Tropes: Friends-to-Lovers, Love at first sight, Teammates
The resident alchemist for the capital city chapter of the adventurer’s guild, Anna is the adopted daughter of Lillain Graytail, the chapter master. Found with the corpses of her parents by Lillain after a brutal monster attack Anna spent several years in a near catatonic state and when she finally began speaking it was very rare and only in the presence of those she trusts. As she grew Anna discovered a natural talent for alchemy and a love of plants that led to her becoming the chapters resident herbalist and healer though she often goes out on adventures with her best friend Rory and when she does she uses her father’s rifle, a brilliant combination of magic and technology. While not the best shot in the guild she is still better than the average and is a welcome addition to any party.
Lillain Graytail | Guild Chapter Master Age: 110 Height: 5'11" Build: Toned, curvy Eye Color: Hazel Hair Color: Raven Black Skin Tone: Olive Notable Features: Graying hair, faintly glowing eyes Combat Style: High powered magic Character Traits: Caring, Protective, Easy going, Explosive temper Tropes: Office Romance, Sleeping with the Boss, Cougar

When there is a world ending catastrophe brewing Lillain is one of the first sent for by kings and queens from around the world. Despite this she has maintained a humble, easy going attitude and cares for every one of the chapter's members as if they were her own children. God's help anyone who hurts those she cares about though, she has a volatile temper and is quick to lose control when angered.

Essence is a mystery, you know she has spent millenia following you from rebirth to rebirth, but you only know her from your previous life. Your meeting had been the stereotypical meet-cute and you quickly became close. She seemed to know everything about you almost immediately but you never learned much regarding her past. You have been assured that she will never be able to find you in this new world but can someone who has been following you from life to life really be deterred by distance, time, or even dimension?

September 2024 Contest Submission #3: Costume Confessions
Words: 3,337 Setting: modern AU CW: none
Anna adjusted a black and gold pirate hat atop her red, billowy hair and glanced at herself in the mirror, her heart racing with excitement but nervousness. Tonight was a Halloween costume party at their friend Kristoff’s house, and she and Elsa had decided to go as a pirate and a mermaid, respectively. She put about two months' worth of work into her outfit just for this event. Their costumes, although simplistic in idea, were a playful nod to their childhood fascination with fantasy, fairy tales, and adventure, which seemed fitting for the occasion. But tonight, Anna was more jumpy than usual. She had something important to confess to Elsa, something that had been building up inside her for a long time. The two had known each other their entire lives, growing up the pair was inseparable. They had gone to the same school since primary, participated in a lot of the same extracurriculars and sports throughout high school, and now, they even go to the same university.
Their bond had always been strong, but over the past year, Anna’s feelings had deepened into something more. She had fallen in love with Elsa, and the thought of admitting her feelings filled her with both hope and fear. ‘What if Elsa doesn’t feel the same way? What if I ruin our friendship?’ She couldn’t hold it in any longer.
“Anna, are you ready?” Elsa’s voice boomed from below in the living room, breaking Anna away from her thoughts.
Anna gulped and yelled, “Coming!” She took a deep breath and adjusted her hat one last time before heading out to meet Elsa. Each step down the staircase felt like a hundred miles, her eyes didn’t leave her feet until she reached the bottom. Bringing her attention back up, her eyes instantly locked onto Elsa in front of her.
Elsa looked stunning in her mermaid costume, her long, flaxen hair flowing down her back, adorned with aquamarine seashells and white, frosty glitter. She turned to face Anna with a soft smile, “You look amazing.” Elsa eyed Anna up and down starting with her tricorn hat, that led to a ruffled white blouse with a low neck, a black vest adorned with gold buttons holding the shirt around her chest with a red sash tied around her waist, and last but not least, a pair of black knee-high leather boots.
Anna looked to the floor, slightly embarrassed, and inspected her friend’s costume in return. Elsa wore a shimmery, sequined, sea-green tail skirt that flared out at the bottom, a fitted, shell-adorned top, and a delicate crown of seashells. The shells, pearls, and glitter woven into her hair only stood to compliment her icy blue eyes.
“You too,” Anna replied, feeling her cheeks flush. As she struggled to maintain eye contact. She searched around in her brain for something to end the awkward silence that followed. “Ready to make a splash?” She asked with instant regret and internally chided herself for making such a corny joke; however, this was not out of character for the woman. Elsa covered her mouth and giggled, a warm sound that always made Anna’s heart flutter.
“Absolutely. Let’s go, captain,” Elsa winked and led the way.
—
The party was already in full swing when the pair arrived. The house was decorated with cobwebs, pumpkins, and eerie LCD lighting, creating a spooky yet festive atmosphere. Guests mingled in their costumes, and the air was filled with music, chattering, laughter, and a little bit of dry ice for faux smoke effects. Kristoff had a propensity for being unabashedly himself, which was also synonymous with being the life of the party. If there were any less decorations, Anna and Elsa would have been disappointed.
As they entered the main living space the host of the party himself greeted them with a wide grin. “Anna, Elsa! Great costumes! You two look perfect together.”
Anna and Elsa exchanged a glance, both smiling and trying to internally guess what Kristoff’s costume was. He wore, what appeared to be, grey and brown animal pelts with a tunic, tied in with leather accessories like a belt. Anna pondered and tapped her finger on her chin.
“Thanks, Kristoff,” Elsa bit her lip and tightened her brow, “What...”
Based on the judgment creeping out of Elsa’s face and knowing her friend’s tendency for speaking her mind without fully understanding that her words may come off as condescending, Anna knew her friend’s question was going to come off with a tinge of rudeness.
“What an amazing costume!” Anna finished her sentence, perhaps not in the way Elsa intended. “Let me guess, you are a... Reindeer Herder!”
“Oh, so close,” Kristoff laughed and slapped his knee. “I am an ice harvester. What can I say, I love ice?” Unknowingly adding to the women’s confusion, he pulls a carrot out of his back pocket and takes a bite. “Glad you like it though! Help yourselves to the food and drinks. We have games and a costume contest later, so stick around.” He wiggled his eyebrows as he side-stepped away from the conversation.
“He never changes, does he?” Elsa crossed her arms and leaned into Anna.
“Nope.” Anna agreed, trying to ignore the light touch on her own arm.
The two wandered through the crowd, Elsa leading the way. They took time greeting friends and admiring the various costumes. Their friend Aurora was dressed as a princess, she always had to be the best looking one at the party. Her girlfriend Mulan was by her side in full knight attire. Another couple they’ve known since high school, Ariel and Eric, also went the royalty route, however instead of a dashing knight, Eric chose to be a charming prince. Anna could sense Ariel’s jealousy of Aurora’s attire but knew she would never say anything. Other various couple’s costumes were spread across the party. There was a Barbie and Ken pair, a Harley Quinn and Joker pair, and a Shaggy and Fred from Scooby-Doo.  As they walked around the large house, they saw an astronaut, a sumo wrestler, even a large ornate dragon costume. Many of the costumes were very well done, causing Anna to look at her own with disapproval.
Elsa noticed Anna sink into herself again and tugged on her arm, “Anna?” Her raspy yet sultry voice caused a heat in Anna’s stomach.
“Yes?” Anna squeezed Elsa’s arm in return but didn’t look at her.
“Is something wrong?”
“No, I mean, not really. It’s just...” Anna trailed off and looked around the party again. “I feel like my costume idea was, although not that original, really well thought out, but it seems everyone else did an amazing job too. I was hoping I would win in the costume contest, or at least lose to you.”
“You wouldn’t lose to me, your costume is amazing Anna, one could almost mistake you for a real pirate, if you weren’t so clean.” Elsa walked around to face Anna and grabbed the collar of her friend’s vest to straighten it. “If you don’t win, I’ll riot in your honor.”
“Don’t you mean plunder, raid, pillage...”
“Well, maybe I’ll just have to go full siren. Lure, sing, charm...drown.”
“Elsa, you don’t need to drown anyone for me.”
“I’d do anything for you.” Elsa winked as she did when they left the house earlier, leaving Anna speechless as she watched the slink away from her viewpoint. Once her silent stupor ended, Anna shook her head and went to find Kristoff to catch up.
Despite the lively atmosphere, Anna couldn’t shake her nervousness. She knew she had to find the right moment to talk to Elsa, but the risk of rejection loomed large in her mind and the overall fear of losing her best friend. Anna eventually found herself at the refreshment table, where Elsa abruptly appeared beside her and grabbed two cups of some home-made punch, handing one to Anna.
Anna swirled the contents around in the cup, unsure of what concoction of different liquors and juices she may taste inside.
Elsa went to raise her cup in a toast when she saw the other woman’s apprehension. “Just do it, you look like you need to loosen up a bit.”
Anna jested and stuck out her tongue, “Why don’t you make me?”
Elsa’s look became serious as she walked around the small kitchen island, narrowing the space between them. Anna felt frozen, as if she were a deer in the headlights of an oncoming vehicle and just watched as Elsa wrapped her arm around her own in front. “What if we do it like this?”
Anna felt the other woman grow close as their arms now snaked around the other’s, their drinks now at each other’s lips.
“Here’s to a fun night,” Elsa whispered, raising her cup in a toast before hinting at Anna to open her mouth. Anna obeyed and let the drink pass between her lips, as she returned the favor.
“To a fun night,” Anna echoed after the toast. ‘Maybe Elsa is right, I do need to loosen up.’
She allowed her friend to fetch her one more drink to add to her liquid courage for the evening. As she took the final sip, Anna felt a surge of determination. She had to tell Elsa how she felt tonight, no matter what. She opened her mouth to speak but as the party buzzed with excitement, Kristoff waltzed onto a makeshift stage with a cheap microphone in hand. "Alright, everyone! It's time to announce the winners of the costume contest!" he called out, gathering the party’s attention.
Anna sighed and then took her place beside Elsa who strolled closer to the stage. Anna removed her hat, casually holding it in her hands as they waited for the results. She glanced over at Elsa, who was adjusting the seashell crown in her hair, seemingly unbothered. She knew Elsa hadn’t thought much about winning though.
"First, let’s start with the individual costume category," Kristoff said, scanning the crowd that had gathered around in front of him. "There were a lot of great looks tonight, but one stood out for its sheer creativity and detail. Give it up for… Raya and her incredible dragon costume!"
Cheers erupted, and a dark haired woman stepped forward with a wide grin, raising her arms to show off the wings that unfurled behind her. The crowd clapped and cheered as she accepted her prize, a silly plastic crown and a gift card to a local café. Anna clapped along, although she was genuinely impressed, she still felt a sinking feeling in her chest.
Elsa grabbed Anna's hat from her hands and placed it back on her head, “Her costume was great, but yours was better. We’ll find you some finer treasures elsewhere.” Anna couldn’t help but smile as the woman tidied up her outfit once again, caring for it with great import as Anna would herself.
“And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for—the couples costume winner!" Kristoff continued. "This pair showed creativity, chemistry...”
Anna looked over to Aurora on the other side of the room with Mulan, ready to pounce onto the stage.
“And let’s be honest, they totally nailed it. And the winners are… Anna and Elsa, the pirate and the mermaid!"
Anna’s eyes widened in shock. "Wait, what?" she blurted, looking at Elsa, who burst out laughing. The crowd clapped, and a few of their friends whistled, calling out their names.
"Come on up, you two!" Kristoff urged, waving them forward.
Anna felt her face flush as she awkwardly made her way toward the front with Elsa by her side, still grinning at Anna’s surprise.
"This can’t be real," Anna muttered under her breath, but she couldn’t help laughing along with Elsa’s delight.
Kristoff handed them their prize—another plastic crown for each of them, along with a small trophy shaped like a gold star. "Congrats, you two! You’re officially the best-dressed duo tonight!"
Elsa accepted the crown and placed it on the rim of Anna’s hat with a chuckle. "Well, I guess you did nail it."
“We.” Anna corrected.
Elsa leaned in, her eyes twinkling. "We make a good team."
As they posed for a few pictures with their crowns, Anna caught Elsa’s eye and was thrilled to see her looking back at her.
As they mingled with more friends and enjoyed the party, Anna kept looking for an opportunity to talk to Elsa alone. Every time Anna felt the courage to bring up the conversation, a random person would interrupt, or the loud music would take over.
Her chance finally came when Kristoff announced a game that required participants to act out famous scenes from movies. “All right, everyone,” the man called out. “We’re going to play a game called ‘Hollywood Highlights.’ I need some volunteers to act out different scenes for the audience to vote on. Who’s in?”
Anna felt her heart skip a beat. This could be the perfect opportunity. She nudged Elsa. “Want to give it a try?”
Elsa’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Sure, why not? After all, we are on a winning streak.”
They stepped forward, joining a few other pairs who had volunteered. Kristoff handed them slips of paper with the scenes they would act out. Anna’s hands trembled slightly as she unfolded their slip and read the scene: the romantic boat scene from The Little Mermaid where the characters would share their first kiss, if not interrupted.
Anna gulped, looking down at her clothes. Elsa grabbed the paper from her hand and read the scene for herself.  “Relax, pirates can be princes too.” She extended her hand and placed it on Anna’s, causing the woman’s heart to beat even faster.
“All right, everyone,” Kristoff said. “You have a few minutes to prepare. Then we’ll see your performances, for those that need an additional fill in, I’ll take that spot. At the end, we’ll vote on who did the best performance!” He strolled over to Anna and Elsa whilst puffing up his chest. He pointed to himself with his thumb. “I’ll be the crab and some of the sea creatures. But don’t worry, I won’t steal the show. Maybe.” Elsa poked him in the stomach, causing the air in his chest to deflate and giggled.
They found a quiet corner to rehearse. As they went over the scene, Anna couldn’t help but feel nervous and excited. She glanced at Elsa, who seemed completely at ease, and felt a pang of admiration. Elsa had always been the braver of the two, never afraid to speak her mind or speak in front of others. Her confidence could not be challenged, and Anna admired that about her.
“Ready?” Elsa inquired, smiling warmly at Anna.
Anna nodded with a shaky voice. “Yeah, ready.”
When it was their turn to perform, Anna and Elsa stepped into the makeshift spotlight. The room fell silent, all eyes on them. Anna took a deep breath and began the scene, trying to focus on her small part and few lines, making jokes of Kristoff pretending to be Scuttle; being loud and annoying. Music began in the background as the girls circled each other as if they were spinning in the boat.
As they reached the climactic moment where their characters were about to kiss, Anna’s nervousness reached its peak. She looked into Elsa’s eyes, searching for any sign of what she might be feeling. Elsa’s expression was calm and encouraging, her blue eyes reflecting the dim light of the room.
Summoning all her courage, Anna decided to go for it. She gently took Elsa’s hand and leaned in, whispering, “I know you don’t have any speaking lines for this part, so you can just listen. And afterwards, you can just ignore this as if nothing ever happened, you could hate me, or whatever it is you need to do, but I need to tell you something...
Elsa’s eyes began searching in Anna’s. She had an idea of what was to come but felt a blush rosy on her cheeks in return.
Anna continued, “I think I’m in love with you.”
Elsa’s eyes widened in surprise, but her expression quickly softened. She leaned forward to Anna’s side that was faced away from the audience, so she would not break character by talking and whispered back, “I’ve been waiting for you to say that. "She pulled her face back to the center, their noses so close together they were practically touching.  The audience began to lowly cheer, thinking their heartfelt moment was part of the act.
Kristoff began to rock the imaginary boat in front of the women but to no avail. The two stood firmly looking into each other as Anna worked up the courage to press her lips against Elsa’s.
And then, finally, they kissed. It was a soft, tentative kiss at first, as if testing the waters, but it quickly deepened into something more. The room erupted in applause and cheers, but to Anna, it was just background noise. All that mattered was the feeling of Elsa’s lips on hers, the way they fit together as if they had always been meant to. The kiss was warm, gentle, and full of all the unspoken words they had been too afraid to say.
When they finally pulled away, Anna felt a rush of emotions—relief, joy, excitement, and a sense of rightness.. They were both breathless, eyes locked, and in that moment, Anna knew that everything had changed. This wasn’t just part of an act; it was real, and it was everything she had ever hoped for.
The cheers and applause of their friends filled the room, grounding them back into reality and then the crowd clapped once more as they stepped away from the spotlight, Anna was unsure if the audience knew that the couple was not actually supposed to kiss during the song “Kiss the Girl”, but she could care less. ‘I like our version better.’
Kristoff raised an eyebrow, as he did know that the scene was supposed to end with the women falling instead of kissing based on their rehearsal, but Anna seemed to be drifting away, instead of interjecting, he let his friends be.
Anna felt a weight lift off her shoulders. The fear of rejection that had been holding her back melted away, replaced by a sense of relief and happiness.
Elsa pulled her aside, away from the crowd, and found a quiet area where they could talk privately. “Anna, I can’t believe you were so scared to tell me,” Elsa reassured, her voice filled with affection. “Honestly I was too… But I was only afraid of losing you. I love you Anna, I always have.”
Anna laughed, feeling a mix of emotions. Her face still beat red. “I guess we were both being silly.”
“Yeah,” Elsa agreed, taking Anna’s hand. “But I’m glad you finally told me.” She took Anna’s hands in her own and swung them back and forth between them.
Anna and Elsa, along with Kristoff, ended up in second place because they deviated from the script, but their exceptional acting made up for it. The two women were all right with the outcome, as they had won in the costume contest earlier and now, by expressing themselves to each other.
They spent the rest of the night dancing, laughing, and enjoying the party with their friends. As the event began to wind down, Anna and Elsa found themselves standing on the back patio of the house, the moonlight reflecting off the tops of the trees, and stars scattered across the night sky. They stood hand in hand, the cool breeze brushing against their skin.
“This is perfect,” Elsa said softly, resting her head on Anna’s shoulder. The puffy sleeves of Anna's white blouse provided extra padding for Elsa’s cool forehead.
“It really is,” Anna agreed, feeling a sense of contentment she had never felt before.
They listened to the breeze for a while, enjoying the peaceful moment and each other’s company.

The Magic of Narnia: A Deep Dive into "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"
Tumblr media
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," directed by Andrew Adamson and released in 2005, is a breathtaking adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s beloved novel. This film transports audiences to the magical land of Narnia, where they are immersed in a world of wonder, adventure, and profound themes. With its stunning visuals, compelling characters, and faithful storytelling, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is a cinematic journey that enchants viewers of all ages.

Plot Overview
The story begins during World War II, with the Pevensie siblings—Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes), and Lucy (Georgie Henley)—being evacuated to the English countryside. There, in the mysterious mansion of Professor Kirke (Jim Broadbent), the youngest sibling, Lucy, discovers a wardrobe that leads to the magical world of Narnia.
Narnia is under the icy grip of the White Witch, Jadis (Tilda Swinton), who has plunged the land into eternal winter. As the Pevensie children explore this new world, they meet a host of fantastical creatures and learn of a prophecy that foretells their role in Narnia's liberation. Guided by the noble lion Aslan (voiced by Liam Neeson), they embark on an epic quest to defeat the White Witch and restore peace to the realm.
Characters and Performances
"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" features a talented cast who bring their characters to life with depth and authenticity. Georgie Henley's portrayal of Lucy is particularly noteworthy; her innocence and wonder perfectly capture the essence of her character and serve as the emotional heart of the film. William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, and Skandar Keynes also deliver strong performances, each embodying their respective characters' growth and development throughout the story.
Tilda Swinton's performance as the White Witch is chillingly effective. She exudes a menacing presence that dominates every scene she is in, making her a formidable antagonist. Liam Neeson's voice work as Aslan adds a layer of gravitas and warmth, making the character both majestic and approachable.

Visuals and Special Effects
One of the most remarkable aspects of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is its stunning visual effects. The film brings the magical world of Narnia to life with breathtaking landscapes, detailed creature designs, and seamless CGI. The winter scenes, in particular, create a captivating contrast between the cold, oppressive rule of the White Witch and the vibrant, life-affirming presence of Aslan.
The battle sequences are spectacularly choreographed, combining practical effects with CGI to create epic clashes that are both thrilling and emotionally resonant. The film's visual storytelling is enhanced by its use of rich, immersive cinematography that captures the wonder and peril of Narnia.
Themes and Impact
At its core, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is a tale of courage, redemption, and the triumph of good over evil. It explores themes of sacrifice, forgiveness, and the power of faith, resonating with audiences on a profound level. Aslan's sacrifice and resurrection parallel Christian themes, adding layers of meaning to the narrative.
The film has had a significant impact on both popular culture and the fantasy genre. It introduced a new generation to the world of Narnia and reaffirmed the timeless appeal of C.S. Lewis’s work. Its success led to further adaptations in the series, ensuring that the magic of Narnia continues to captivate audiences around the world.

The gas lamps lining the cobblestone streets of London cast a flickering, amber glow, painting shadows on the walls of Árnadalr Manor. Here, Lady Anna Árnadalr, resplendent in her finest silks and satin, moved with the grace of a cat, her heart racing in exhilaration. She was on a daring mission—one that would test her wit and cunning.
The clandestine ball she had attended had been a whirlwind of masked faces, forbidden dances, and whispered secrets. But now, as the clock struck midnight, Lady Anna found herself outside the imposing wrought-iron gates of her family’s estate. The guards stationed there were no ordinary sentinels; they were loyal, watchful, and relentless in their duty.
With a mischievous glint in her eye, Lady Anna had hatched a plan. Her heart pounded as she tiptoed through the shadows, her satin slippers barely making a sound on the cold stones.
As she approached the gates, Lady Anna’s pulse quickened. She glanced up at the moon, silently praying for luck. Then, with a breath held, she darted forward, skirts rustling softly against the night air. The guards stood like statues, unsuspecting, their eyes scanning the darkness beyond the gates. With a deft movement, Lady Anna slipped past them, her heart threatening to burst from her chest.
But her triumph was short-lived. Just as she reached the safety of the grand foyer, a chorus of footsteps echoed down the marble hallway. Panic surged through her veins. Who could have breached the security of Árnadalr Manor? Has her daring escapade been discovered?
As if in answer, a rush of guards thundered past her hiding place, swords clanking against armor. Confusion clouded Lady Anna’s mind. What was happening? And then, a hand touched her shoulder—a jolt of electricity that sent shivers down her spine. She spun around, coming face to face with a mysterious figure cloaked in shadow.
His piercing gaze bore into her, and rugged features hinted at a life lived on the edge. Against the backdrop of darkness, he cut a dashing figure—a rogue, perhaps, or a hero of hidden battles. Lady Anna opened her mouth to speak, but the stranger’s hand shot out, silencing her with a gentle touch. His finger pressed against his lips, urging her to maintain absolute silence.
In that dim light, Lady Anna could barely make out the enigmatic smile that played upon his lips. Who was he? Friend or foe? And what secrets did he hold? As the gas lamps flickered, casting their uncertain glow, Lady Anna’s heart raced anew.
As her gaze met the stranger's, she noticed a flicker of urgency in his eyes. They darted past her, scanning the deserted corridor to ensure that the guards were a safe distance away before he dared to speak.
"I need your help hiding me," he whispered, his voice barely above a breath.
Lady Anna arched an eyebrow in incredulity, her expression a silent question of why she should aid him. But before she could voice her doubts, the stranger let out an exasperated sigh, accompanied by a subtle role of his eyes.
With a swift motion, he reached up and pulled down the hood that concealed his features, revealing a face that bore the marks of hardship. Despite the grime and light scratches that adorned his cheeks, there was a youthful charm about him, almost mirroring Lady Anna’s own age. His hair, tousled yet somehow styled, cascaded in warm brown waves, framing his features with an air of ruggedness.
But it was his eyes that held Lady Anna captive. Dark as the midnight sky and piercing as shards of ice, they seemed to bore into her very soul with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine.
In that moment, as she met the gaze of the enigmatic stranger before her, Lady Anna realized that there was more to him than met the eye. And though she couldn't quite fathom the depths of his mysterious past, she knew one thing for certain — she couldn't resist the allure of adventure that beckoned in his icy blue gaze.
She swiftly moves his hand from her mouth, then, thinking quickly, she plants her palm on the ground to detect any vibrations nearby, a technique she learned her first few nights here. The dark-haired man watches her with confusion. Sensing nothing, she peeks out from their hiding place and rises cautiously, the man mimicking her movements with some difficulty due to the cramped space. He leans against the wall she was pressed against, using it for support, inadvertently pinning her between his arms as he rises.

I wonder what would esmeralda, Aroura, Mirabel,Anna and Elsa. masquerade outfits and masks would look like?
Well for Esmeralda and Aroura, there is actually a line of collector Disney store dolls that are masquerade theme and Aroura and Esmeralda are part of the line, heres the official art of that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly Mirabel and the sisters aren't here but let me see what I can find.
The glorious masqurade outfits are a bit more historical inspired, very renaissance-y. So I'm just spit balling here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Elsa I think a dress like either of these two would work. The first dress silhouette wise is more in line with what Elsa normally wears, where as the second one I think is more "queenly." With the first one It would be in her normal icy blue colors. If the second I think it would be more reminiscent of her coronation gown in terms of color and her hair tied up instead of her normal braid
Tumblr media
I think maybe something like this for Anna would be fun. I can't decide if this would be in the color scheme of her coronation dress with he greens and blacks. Or in the colors of her adventure dress. So the parts here that are orange would be the blue and that top green later would be the pink. Idk wither would work. And then her hair can be braided up with that beaded headpiece.
Tumblr media
Now for Mirabel I thought maybe a dress with this cut with the empire waist with the poofy sleeves, kinda like what I did for Isabelle. But instead the main color would be Mirabels signature blue and maybe the gold embellishments on the dress would be butterflies. Since butterflies are a motif in her main design. And then maybe her curls are held back some gold and blue butterfly shaped hair pins

This is just for fun, fyi
I feel like making a ranked list of Disney feature movies, according to my personal preference, from "worst" to "best".  To begin, I have to list in chronological order, the ones I have yet to see, so that their absence in the list can be explained.
The Black Cauldron
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Oliver & Company
Doug's 1st Movie
Fantasia 2000
The Tigger Movie
Brother Bear
Home on the Range
The Princess and the Frog
Frozen II
Strange World
Now that I have a list of movies I have actually seen, some once, some several times, some many times, I can share my thoughts on each one, and what makes them so good, or not good.
The Little Mermaid
This one's a "not good", though it has some charm.  All the same, it goes on the very bottom of the list, namely because (1) Ariel is sixteen years old and wants to run away from home to chase after a guy she finds handsome and (2) that whole "never underestimate the power of "body language"" line.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
This movie was a triumph at the time, but honestly there are only seven redeeming features: the dwarves.  As a main character, Snow White is insipid.  Giselle from Enchanted has a similar premise in her story, but she manages to be gullible in a way that doesn't remove her charm and claim to intelligence.  The queen is scary, which is fine for adults, but a child watching that movie may have nightmares.  Case in point: I did.
Pinocchio
Again, with this movie, the main character did not claim my allegiance.  I liked Jiminy Cricket, I liked Geppetto, and I liked the cat and the fish.  The whole movie is an adventure, supposedly, but each phase of the movie is more terrifying than the previous for a sensitive child.  Not a fan.
Fantasia
Apart from the animated sequence with Mickey as the Sorcerer's apprentice, the movie is long and boring.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
I only saw it once, and I was young.  I thought it was a good movie, but I was too young to fully understand what was happening.  I need to watch it again, as an adult.
Treasure Planet
Again, I only saw it once, but I remember enjoying it thoroughly.  However, I don't have the same emotional attachment as I do to the rest of the roster.
Frozen
I enjoyed Frozen.  It has a lot going for it.  But like the icy landscape it depicts, I feel little to no warmth towards it.  The way those parents treated Elsa, and then the way Elsa felt she had to treat Anna…it's just depressing.
Chicken Little
We are now in the territory of "I love them all, so this is the one I love less than the others".  I love Chicken Little.  I love the characters, I love the sci fi element, I love the soundtrack, and I love the father-son relationship that is at the heart of the movie.  It's just: there are so many of these movies that I love even more.
Bolt
The reason I love this movie so much is the cat character.  Her rough, tough exterior with a vulnerable side that you get to see peeking through makes her the most layered character.  And of course, the dog is cute, the girl who loves the dog is cute.  But really, I watch this movie because I love that cat.
Big Hero 6
The team coming together was awesome.  Baymax was awesome.  So many elements of this story rocked.  I love it, but only this much.
The Great Mouse Detective
I haven't seen this movie since I was little, but I clearly remember how much I loved it.  It was not terrifying, it was thrilling.  In fact, every time a story depicted rodents, for some reason I simply loved it.
The Sword in the Stone
I only remember the first half of this movie.  I remember enjoying it.  But if the ending was that forgettable, I think it deserves a lower rank on the scale.
Robin Hood
Honestly, the fact that they reused so much animation from other movies to make this one quickly irks me to the point that I cannot love it as much as it would otherwise deserve.  Marion is the best part of the movie.
The Jungle Book
This movie is good.  Unfortunately, it is a case of "the movie cannot live up to the book".  Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book is a masterpiece, and the "Disneyfied" version is entertaining to kids, but they deserve to read the book(s).
The Lion King
They say a main character is only as good as his villain.  This is not the case with The Lion King.  Scar is an amazing villain, the hyenas are amazing henchmen, Mufasa is an awesome father, Zazu, Timone and Pumbaa are such good comic relief, Rafiki is the wise advisor, and Nala is a badass love interest.  So why, Simba, are you so two-dimensional and downright dull?  The movie is good despite the main character.  He's cute when he's little though.
Peter Pan
I've never read Peter Pan, but I have seen a live action version which blew my mind.  This version came first, but the other is better.
Alice in Wonderland
Again, the book is better.  However, this time, the movie captures some of the whimsy and mood of the book, so it is redeemed.  Also the tea party scene is hysterical.
Meet the Robinsons
Again, I love this movie.  I love the family, I love the plot, the time travel element, the surprise ending, the soundtrack.  It's just not as dear to me as all the rest, so here is its place on the list.
Pocahontas
I loved this movie when I saw it as a kid.  I loved the music, I loved the suspense, I loved Pocahontas.  I only saw it once, unfortunately, so I cannot say that it is one of my top favorites.  I do want to watch it again.
Winnie the Pooh
It's a good movie, faithful to the book, and reading the book will make you enjoy the movie even more.  That's a win!
Cinderella
When the main character is the sweetest of sweethearts, and she catches the prince's attention, which means he could detect that she is one in a million.  You've got excellent taste, dear prince.
Sleeping Beauty
You know why this is above Cinderella?  The music.  The animation.  The fairies.
Dinosaur
I was blown away by the animation when I saw this movie in my youth, but watching it now, it feels like several layers are missing.  The story is compelling, and there is a variety of interesting characters.  The antagonist is so stupid, though.  It's cringe-worthy. He himself is not the problem, it's his stubborn and dogged personality that make it hard to watch the climax.  But overall it's a solid story, well told.
Tarzan
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it: it's one of my favorites.  I only wish the songs were sung by another singer, because I feel they clash with the rest of the movie.  A very personal opinion.
Hercules
You want to know the best part of this movie?  Meg.  And, next, Hades.  They are both why this movie is so high up on the list.
Aladdin
Robin Williams is the absolute best part of this movie.
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
Beautifully animated, and the inspiration for Cruella, which is one of my favorite movies.  Gold star.
The Rescuers
I told you, I love movies about rodents.
The Rescuers Down Under
A rare instance where the sequel was even better.
The Fox and the Hound
That one scene where the lady leaves Todd at the reserve wrecked me completely.  I cannot watch it without crying.  Not a few tears, a deluge.
Bambi
The way this movie depicts forest life using movement, color and music:  heart breaking just like Fox and the Hound, so they're close together on the list because in my mind they have similar themes.
Moana
Anything involving the ocean is awesome in my book.  Except The Little Mermaid, but that is a story about a merfolk who would prefer to be on land.  Um, no.
Raya and the Last Dragon
This movie was compelling to say the least.  And the father-daughter relationship is central to the plot, but every development in the story is thoughtful and the pacing is stellar.  I love it.
Encanto
The close-knit family, the amazing music, and the main character, Mirabel.  Disney, you knocked it out of the park.
Lady and the Tramp
"He's a tramp, but they love him.  Breaks a new heart every day.  He's a tramp.  I adore him.  And I wish that he would travel this way."  Yet this tramp met a lady who he could not ignore, not neglect, he cared about her well-being.  Isn’t that an epic storyline?
The Aristocats
Those kittens: all three are adorable.  Duchess is a quintessential lady, just like her owner.  Thomas is suave and yet he cares.  The geese are just the best.  Let's not forget the lawyer: that scene on the staircase is everything.  Edger is an idiot, but he comes by his just deserts.  And then there's Roquefort, the alley cats, Frou Frou, the two dogs.  Did I forget anybody?  Maurice Chevalier sings to opening title song, and there's a man who pours out his wine after seeing a mouse chase cats.  I think that's everybody.  What synergy this movie has.  NO wonder I love it so much.
Dumbo
I have to confess that stories about mothers and their children speak to me, move me, and reach into my chest and squeeze my heart and its strings.  And Timothy is just such a good friend!
Beauty and the Beast
Our heroine is a bookworm who is misunderstood yet beautiful so she catches the attention of a bully and a misogynist.  She sacrifices her freedom to rescue her father.  She learns that her captor has a heart.  Of all the classic "Disney princess" tales, this one is on another level.
Tangled
This is not just a run-of-the-mill love story.  The love story is amazing, don't get me wrong.  But the story is about a girl who only knows one person, and she thinks this person loves her, and wants what is best for her, but that person only cares about how she can use this girl.  It is the story of escape from an abuser.  It is a must-see Disney movie.
The Emperor's New Groove
Now this was a story where the main character is completely unlikeable in the beginning, and over the course of the movie he changes and progresses and you begin rooting for him, except, it's done right: with humor.  A lot of humor.  No room for cheesiness, the movie mocks itself, and its self-deprecation is refreshing.
Lilo and Stitch
I keep putting certain movies close to one another that have a similar emotional response from me.  Stitch is a monster.  A cute one, but he is destructive and rough.  Lilo is amazing, yet a bit bratty.  And then you find out why.  She and her sister have experienced loss, and they are coping as best they can.  With such a theme, there is nothing trite, the story doesn't gloss over the painful parts.  It is funny yet wise, over the top, yet profound.
Zootopia
A fox and a rabbit: an unlikely duo.  Yet you end up shipping them.  And the point of the story is to remind us that we should not label one another.  A vital lesson to teach our kids.
Wreck-It Ralph
And on the theme of  not judging one another, a supposed "bad guy" befriends a supposed "glitch" and hijinks ensue.  "I'm bad, but that's good, I will never be good, and that's not bad, there is no one I would rather be than me."  Gets me every time.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
I remember seeing the trailer for this film, and I could not contain my excitement.  I love drama, I love underdogs, I love overcoming prejudice.  I can watch this movie over and over.  It's a masterpiece.
Mulan
A strong female lead: one of my first encounters with this concept.  Again, I remember the trailer.  I wanted to see that movie so badly, and when I did, I was thrilled, hooked, overawed with Mulan and her courage.
