pt. 4 | pt. 6 And now… let me say a few words… I started all this just to show the death of Raph. I didn't want to make his death sad or tragic, it should be grandiose, worthy of a real hero, worthy of an older brother. "Like a boss". You may be tired of seeing his self-sacrifice in any form, but all the options that I saw … yes, they are good, but they are not at all on the scale that Raph is capable of. They're having a world war, all the brothers have been thrashing these aliens like kids in the movie, and all I get is Raph pinned down by the rubble?? (I only like this version when he's already a robot, but I don't like it at all when he's alive, still powerfull (because, again, their ninpo most likely connected to their feelings, and Raph is the one who can use full out of it alongside with Mikey) Raph is terribly strong, if he were alive to the very end, I'm sure he would scare the krang on a par with Donnie, because, firstly, Mikey is not so scary for them because of the side effect of his ninpo, secondly, Leo lost his ninpo. So…even if briefly and rudely enough, but I wanted to show how strong the effect of Raph's death had on everyone, not just to forget about him later. (This character is very difficult for me myself, unfortunately, I can’t convey all the little things of his character and … ha ha, I can’t basically draw him correctly… mmm …) (Anyway... there will be some more parts and maybe one more episode... I'm not sure... and I'm still struggling to draw the way I like... unsuccessfully so far... khm) (Thanks to someone, my thoughts are now completely filled with the thought of finally getting back to Casey, so I can't think straight… I'm in Hell right now)

So! The evil art challenge! Thank you everyone who gave their input, you wrote really nice things💙💙 and you've definitely picked out my habits pretty well, lmao. Below I'll write a breakdown of my style and thoughts behind the "evil" version.

Aesthetically I love pastel and saturated colors and I'm 100% biased toward cooler tones. Regardless of color, whether it's red or blue adjacent, I'll always pick the cooler variable of it. I tend to avoid using black and I particularly have an aversion toward basic red. I have a short attention span and limited reserves of energy, so I try to work fast and stick to simple techniques; hence the sketchy linearts and mostly flat colors. I also just visually like smooth surfaces and gradients.

I want to convey the shapes and weight of the things I draw but with a minimalistic amount of lines and shading. This ties into putting emphasis on anatomy and muscles. I do tend to spend a lot of time sketching, because I usually have a very specific pose or vibe in my mind, and I want to be able to capture it.

For the "evil" version: - I sketched Raph and Leo a lot faster and attempted stiffer poses than in the normal one. - Thick and non-sketchy lineart - Dark and reddish color scheme - More rendered, airbrushy and kinda messy shading (I suffered) - Slightly less defined muscles...?

At some point I thought I should make them sharper, but then I just forgot lol.

Also, here's a flat colored version of the evil art because I like it 100% better. (Works better with the lineart style)

I picked Leo and Raph for this challenge for the opposing red and blue color schemes. As an extra, I put them in Fast Forward gear, as its blueness and the season's more saturated look are very fitting for my style. And then I'd get to make it work in a warmer tone.

The post I made about conservatism made a lot of people Big Mad because of me drawing conclusions/assuming about people's ideas and motives outside of their openly stated motives, which, fair—I see this kind of thing being done completely spuriously all the time.

However, "reasoning beyond stated motives" is a necessary skill—it's even necessary to be able to do with yourself, because cognitive dissonance is a bitch.

anyway, reading right-wingers' posts and reading their media and watching the occasional sketchy youtube videos makes me notice interesting patterns in the kinds of things that consistently concern them, but for stated reasons that are inconsistent or seemingly uncontroversial.

One of the biggest ones is birth control.

Right-wingers talk a lot about the negative side effects of birth control, how birth control pills are prescribed instead of diagnosing the "root cause" of illnesses, how they or someone they know were prescribed birth control without a full explanation of the reasons and side effects, how doctors "push" birth control onto young women.

It's very often superficially presented as a concern about how "medical professionals don't listen to women, we need access to all the facts about our bodies, etc..."

But why birth control side effects. Not endometriosis, not fibromyalgia, but specifically the side effects of birth control. I don't see right-wingers constantly discussing concerns about women being dismissed as having anxiety or being "hysterical" when they have medical issues, or fat people being told to "lose weight" when they have a medical issue that may well have nothing to do with weight, or Black women being ignored and abused by medical professionals.

But birth control side effects, and doctors "pushing" birth control—that they will openly discuss and address as a problem.

i think i just love the idea of the different universes with their like, styles???

like how Gwen's is totally watercolor and Hobie's is all scrapbookish punk n newspaper, y'know???? and, of course, Miles and Pavitr's are both more "normal" but they still have that... you know... v i b e... they're both normal but they have elements that make it their own. Like how Pavitr's universe is mainly super warm colors?

anyways this got me thinking y'know how it's super obvious Hobie has a different universe style?? not so much for Gwen because hers is a little different, but with the whole. changing skin, the OUTLINE, it's very obvious

I think it'd be super cool if in Hobie's universe, it's kind of like the opposite for anybody who's not from it? They have their own like, radius of... their own dimension???

I'm only comparing this to Hobie's dimension, it's very obvious none of this would happen in CANON so I'm literally just spitballing. Also because Hobie is the only one with the outline and funny overlay thing, and it'd be fun to play around with the other three's possible like,,, vibe!!

Gwen would leave like, imprints of watercolor? like dabbing it on a piece of paper, leaving color that dries out back to normal over time?? it would bleed into the world around her, it might even mimic her emotions with the color!

If she was upset it would be harsh, spread more, it would come out in spiked reds and blacks?

happy would seep in a lot more subtly, and cover a lot more space, but you wouldn't realize how much room it's taking up just because it's so slow to take it up and really is only at about.. idk, 20% opacity, slowly builds up the happier she gets? it would be more visible in puddles, just like with normal watercolor (Compared to anger, which would be very in-your-face and obvious)

It would rely a lot on her emotions, methinks, the stronger they are, the more visible the color!

Miles would have a sketchy, drawing-like atmosphere to him, kind of like what you can see on the spot y'know? and, since the spot came from Miles' dimension, I think it makes sense!

It would be less noticeable, but the things he interacts with would probably turn into a slightly stylized version of itself? A cup he holds or drinks from wouldn't change DRAMATICALLY, but it might copy his look and have sketch-like lines around it. Nothing huge, but enough that you can tell what he's touched in the past few minutes/hours

Pavitr would have a similar vibe to Gwen's, but with warm colors instead! His effect wouldn't change with emotions like hers, but it would probably bleed in the same way as hers. He would leave behind trails of warm oranges and yellows wherever he goes and leaving it behind on what he touches. He wouldn't notice this, but it would be veeery obvious to Hobie or anybody from his dimension.

Actually, I think the way that we can spot Hobie because of his differences in outline/radius effect would highly apply to them in his dimension! Everybody in Hobie's world can CLEARLY tell that Gwen, Miles and Pav aren't from there, and while the common person might not recognize they're from another universe, they might get the same feeling as if you were seeing like.. a skinwalker, or something. They're human, but it doesn't feel like it.

ANYWAYS back to Pavitr

He has a warm, cozy vibe, I think unlike the others his can seep more into emotions, I think he's an empathetic person and that melts into his little area effect. if he's super happy or excited about something the people around him get a tiny bit happier too!! when he's sad (and it's rly hard to make him sad bc this boy is POSITIVE THINKER #1) his colors get a bit colder, but I don't think they would affect other people like his happy ones do, honestly just SEEING such a normally happy guy so sad would do enough to ur mood than some radius effect lol

ANYWAYS that's just a lil thought. they are silly. and this is going into my ideas folder. have a good one n remember to drink water

compared to his long lifetime, he really has not spent too much of it in the human world. whenever he goes, especially for the first day or so, he occasionally slips up and thinks he is working with his usual four arms, which throws off his coordination and balance. he will sometimes try to catch/hold things with his second set of arms out of habit

something he does like about his human form is that its physical limitations allow him to actually feel at least physically satiated with food, drink, and other stuff without the insane amount of effort to do the same in his true form. the satisfaction is nice for him to feel for once

the world has always had its share of greed, and he enjoyed the decadence and pageantry of super wealthy noblemen and royalty but he really loves modern widespread consumerism and late capitalism. he appreciates the casualness and convenience of the present day, and nothing is nicer for him than a smog filled city.

as clowning became less relevant, he got more involved with general show business. he especially fell in love with the rock star/celebrity image some decades ago and got seriously into the business side of the human music industry.

i go back and forth about whether he still preforms in the human world. probably, right? but i could see him satisfied just being the band manager/agent from hell, especially in recent years

First drawing of the year! When was the last time I even did digital art? I don't remember.

Anyway, have a sketchy portrait of Harry Mason my dearest. He is, once again, my fixation at the moment because of the Silent Hill fanfic rewrite I've been doing since last year, and quite honestly, it pains me to realize that I barely draw him even though he's easily one of my favorite protagonists of all time. He is so pure, the most dedicated father of them all, and I am so happy to be exploring this character once again. Despite being a kind man and a good father, I find him to be very complex. In SH3 we know that he did love Heather, but in all those years prior to the 3rd game, he really had a hard time loving this new girl. He had to learn to accept her and love her as she is, even when at times, he looked at her only as a replacement for his lost Cheryl. It's heartbreaking, and to be able to develop this character further in the rewrite is both rewarding and eye-opening.

Btw I'd love to draw in this style a bit more often, this rough sketchy half-finished looking style. I don't have much time to draw nowadays, and for now I just wanna have fun drawing... things. Faces. Simple portraits. There may be stuff to explore in this new style anyway, and besides, it's easier for me atm. I want to do a challenge similar to the "100 heads" portraits, but I definitely will NOT do 100 heads! Maybe 10 or 20 will suffice, depending on my time and energy—I'll figure it out!

P.S. Also I have deleted all my writing pieces on my page. I'm planning to create a new account eventually, purely dedicated to writing because the photographs I use for those pieces aren't mine. You and Annie were extremely close given that your mother pushed you two to be the best

From what you ate to who you hung out with to what you did with your free time was up to your controlling, domineering mother

You were so grateful for your big sister who gave you that kind of motherly unconditional love and support your own could not give you

Staying up late and talking in your shared room

"What are you gonna do when you join The Seven?"

"Make sure you're there with me."

Annie snuck you snacks that your mother decided was too sugary or bad, giving you her own just to see the smile on your face

Coming to her when you're having problems in school, with crushes, homework, and your Supe abilities

Because your mother is the way she is, she's constantly comparing you and Annie together. Who is stronger, faster, getting better grades, taking part in the most saves. etc.

Because she's older and has more experience, you have to work twice as hard to keep up with her. You don't hold this against Annie, though

She makes sure to tell you how good you're doing all the time and tells you how proud she is of you daily

Growing up, you and Annie would play The Seven and draw pictures of The Seven and what your suits would look like. It really was such a big dream of yours to be part of the team, to be a sibling duo too

Training together after school. You two take it very seriously, but when your mother isn't looking, you two goof off like regular kids and chase one another around shrieking and laughing

You both audition together, but only Annie gets the call. Though you're hurt you didn't make the cut, you're glad at least one of you got to live your dreams

When it's time to leave, Annie promises she'll put in a good word for you. This is before she realizes who and what she'll be working with. Once she finds out, once she realizes, she regrets ever saying anything

To keep her in line, Homelander and Vought use you against her: they know you use the police scanner, they have the resources to fake a crime that ends up killing you (that is, if they want to be that discreet about it - Homelander is eager to laser you in half just for fun)

She keeps communication limited and her details sparse. She hates lying to you when you ask if it's everything you've dreamed of, but she can't tell you the truth. No one can know the truth

Instead she asks about what you're up to, if you've saved a stay cat from a tree or walked an old lady across a busy street

You know she's joking, but you can't help but feel like what you're doing compared to what she's doing is so small, so silly

Watching every interview and TV appearance she's in. Cheering her on!

Your mother purs all her focus into your career now. You can't do anything or go anywhere without her interrogating you

It's suffocating

By the time you're able to book a flight to see Annie (and escape your mother) she's deemed a traitor by The Seven

You show up anyway, demanding answers. She hasn't called you or texted. She hasn't been on TV. Annie's disappeared, and you're the only one who noticed. You're kicked out of Vought with even more questions and a terrible feeling

That's when you meet Hughie

Being Annie's Younger Sibling As A Non-Supe:

Growing up, you were kind of in the background, the shadows of your sisters success

Your mother put all her effort and dreams into Annie, creating a bit of resentment towards her and their relationship

Now that you're older, you know it wasn't love and affection that she was getting, rather it was pressure and constant critique

Sitting in the crowds of Annie's pageants, dragged along to events and celebrations for Supe kids, left to entertain yourself while your sister was doted on

Constantly hearing "Why can't you be more like your sister?"

Still, Annie did everything in her power to be the best big sister

She played with you and read to you and looked after you in school. She made sure no one messed with you or picked on you. As far as she was concerned, you might've been your mothers child, but you were her baby

Making your own Supe suit from dress up costumes and clothes you found around the house, pretending you too had powers

While your mother wouldn't entertain these ideas, Annie always called you whatever name you wanted, playing along with your "Supe powers"

When you two rough-housed she was always gentle with you, knowing she was so much stronger

You had to come up with your own dreams, your own ideas, since your mother wasn't projecting a future like she had with Annie

Going to college, getting a job, meeting someone, etc. Your milestones vs. your sisters seemed painfully average

Annie was excited for you, though. As silly as it might seem, she was, in a way, jealous. Where you saw average and boring, she saw safe and stable, a life uncontrolled by your mother

You're still in school when Annie gets the call about The Seven. You're overjoyed for her, but you can't help but think about how lonely it'll be here when it's just you and your mom

Annie was the glue holding your family together

You never miss an interview or appearance, everything she does and is part of is recorded so that you never forget this big moment for your family

Annie calls you once a week to fill you in on what's going on, leaving out the worst parts, both wanting to protect you from the truth and knowing she'll face consequences if she said anything

You're always sending her little things from back home: cards, pictures from your childhood, gift baskets, etc.

As far as you know, things are going great. She's living the dream your mother always had. Without her, you and your mom have little in common. She tries to take an interest in what you're doing, what you're studying, but for the most part she leaves you alone. You two have your own lives

You miss her a lot. Sleeping in your shared bedroom just isn't the same

You plan to fly out to see her between breaks in classes, but before then, she's deemed a traitor to The Seven. You call and text and even show up a Vought, demanding answers, but because you're not a Supe, you're not a member of the press, and you have no power, Homelander and Stormfront send you a way without answers

That's when you meet Hughie

Where The Two Lives Come Together:

He's heard all about you from Annie and gets your number from her just in case

When he realizes you're in the city, he makes his move, introducing himself as a friend with all the answers you could ever need

You're wary, but he shows you pictures and texts between him and Annie. If she liked him, if she trusted him, then so could you

He tries to ease you into the truth, but with Annie missing, you don't want to be lied to anymore. You're done being babied. You find out about everything: Compound V, and Homelander, and Vought, and everything

If you are a Supe, you feel this extra sense of fury towards your mother for poisoning you and your sister for her own gain

The Boys are wary of you: you seems down to earth and sweet, but naive. Even if you are a Supe, that still doesn't mean you're ready for this life. The constant danger, the harassment. They thought you should go back to Des Moines and let them handle it

Hughie sticks up for you, defending you, and eventually, you find your way on to the team, at least in Hughies good graces

When Annie gets out of Vought, defeats Stormfront, and wins her place back into The Seven, you take even more initiative with The Boys

You call your mother and tell her you won't be home for a while. She pries for more information, but you fear you've already given up too much

After Annie comes back to The Seven, her ratings are better than expected. You know it's safer for her to play along, even after Homelander announces they're in a relationship together

You try not to pry into her relationship, but you can't help but take sides: it's better this way, to "be" with Homelander. He can't hurt her if they're in a public relationship, at least not as much as he wants to

You and your sister argue about this (her safety) and yours. She doesn't want you anywhere near this kind of danger. She was trying to protect you from this, from Vought and Homelander

If you're not a Supe, you're more vulnerable

If you are a Supe, they know about you, your powers. They can figure out how to hurt you, kill you even

Regardless of abilities, she makes sure you don't let anyone know your real identity, making up a name for you to use with ID's and everything

She will do anything to protect you

Because you're so dedicated to one another, eventually The Boys realize maybe you're not so bad, maybe you have more to offer than they thought

When Hughie and Butcher get their hands on experimental V, you decide to take if you're not a Supe

Annie is furious at both you and Hughie. How could he let you take an experimental drug? How could he take it himself? She makes you both promise not to take it again, but both of you break that promise

You were always compared to your sister growing up, now you could be just like her, at least for a little while

After she publicly denounces her place at The Seven, she officially joins the team

Having her there with you feels like being back home, if you forget about everything else going on. Being with your sister, it reminds you what's important

Talking more to your mother, not necessarily being open, but talking nonetheless

"Mom, I'm fine. We're both fine."

She's furious Annie left The Seven and she blames you for her decision. Annie was always the perfect one, the better one. As far as she's concerned, you talked Annie out of it over jealousy and insecurity

Annie tries to stick up for you, but you know it's better if she gets it out of her system

Becoming fast friends with M.M. and eventually Kimiko

They both see what you're willing to do for your family, your sister, and there's a lot of merit in that

You're exceptionally close with Hughie. He sees you as a younger sibling too, someone to watch over and protect

Supe or not, Butcher still doesn't 100% like you, but the same can be said for any of them

Annie encourages you to keep up with your studies, to have that life you always wanted in the back of your mind, but you know, realistically, things will never be the same

In return, she tells him about your most embarrassing memories

It's not easy. It never will be. But when it's time to leave, you stick with your sister. If you're a Supe you get away with her, Hughie nodding at the both of you. If not, they take you with him. You beg her to go, get to safety, watching her abilities grow more powerful than ever before
