i mentioned my pastry chef ayana hc in passing but i'm gonna fully expand on that now: SO. also aya family hcs bc people should talk ab that but ayana's dad is a chef (no specific speciality, but he does make a lot of baked goods) and growing up she would often mirror what he does and that eventually led to her practicing and honing her skills! :D (she also studies culinary arts at college teehee) ALSO!!! she brings all sorts of baked goods she makes over for all her favourite people to enjoy constantly whether that be cookies, pastries, cakes, all of that yummy stuff

despite being an absolute loser girlfail idiot she can jam on the bass like its no tomorrow. IM TALKING ABOUT SLAP, FINGERPICKING, YOU NAME IT, SHE CAN DO IT ‼️‼️ here's an example of the bass playing style i had in mind for her, very energetic and fluid heuehehehehehe

Bungo Stray Dogs is for real amazing because they truly convinced me in less than a chapter that half a vampire stuck to a sword that is as much of an edgelord as you could guess but also only wants to sleep and listen to music, and the 10 year old who has speedran loosing all respect to the aforementioned vampire she proceeded to steal are, somehow, one of the most wholesome dynamics I've ever seen and I find that incredibly funny

your eyes sparkle with excitement as you peer through the curtains. "there's so many people," you murmur. hu tao's chin rests atop your head to join you in viewing the large audience. "it is going to be our last live performance before we go on hiatus." hu tao cheekily grins, "i'm super pumped though! look at that crowd!"

ayaka is beneath you, crouching down to take a peek as well. she squeaks, "there really are a lot of people..." you smile, "no worries, aya. you always deliver with your amazing keyboard playing!" yanfei double checks the states of the instruments and turns to face her head to you three.

"get over here, the curtains will go up soon." yanfei stands up from where she was previously bending down to adjust the position of the guitar amps, "good luck, 5O5. everything is good to go." hu tao slings her guitar around her neck and yoimiya does the same with her bass.

yoimiya squeals with pure delight, "the audience is so loud, my heart is pounding even faster!" hu tao darkly jokes, "don't die on us before we perform." yanfei gives an enthusiastic thumbs-up before heading backstage. shortly after, does yun jin step onto the stage with a calm smile. "ready, everyone? let's do our best!"

ayaka nods her head, though hesitantly. she's always a little nervous before live concerts. you sit onto your drum throne and pout, "i'll miss my beloved..." but you have no more time to dwell about 5O5's hiatus, because the next thing you know, the curtain rises.

the familiar voice of your band's manager, madam faruzan, reverbrates through the room on a microphone. "please give it up for hit band, 5O5, as they perform their final live before going on a short break." cheering and clapping ring in your ears and yun jin begins to speak into her mic.

"thank you all for coming! we won't disappoint as we will be performing our unreleased album, blooming symphony."

"eh? i'm not even into bands," mona mumbles, sitting in front of the television set in the bedroom she shares with her twin brother and younger sister. as she's about to switch the channel, scaramouche instantly lunges for the remote, causing the two of them to tumble across the floor.

mona sat up, clearly angry. "what the hell, kunikuzushi!?" the complaints of his twin went into one ear and out the other as he stares at the screen, absolutely tranced. scaramouche grabs onto mona's sleeve, "drive me there!" she scoffs in return, ripping away from his grip.

"no way, where and why?" mona stands up and places her hands on her hips. scaramouche grits his teeth in frustration, "because (name)'s going to be performing at teyvatmusic live house!" she sighs and turns off the tv despite his protests. "no. i was planning on saving up my gas to drive us to school tomorrow."

scaramouche groans and grips fistfuls of his hair, "fuck the school! just take me there, please! you know very well that i don't plead so often; i'll do anything!" mona put a finger to her chin, "anything? even if i ask you to let me tell all of my friends that you have a crush on (name)?"

scaramouche rapidly nods his head, "yeah, whatever! i'll deny it anyways so just please, take me there now or i'll miss it!" mona rolls her eyes with a satisfied hum, "alright. wait for me in the car, i'm just going to put on a coat of lipgloss."

scaramouche runs out the room, shouting, "you better not take long or i'll run to the live house myself!" ei pops her head out from the kitchen. "what live house?" she asks, watching scaramouche put on his shoes in a frenzied matter.

"nothing ⎯ it's nothing." scaramouche was about to open the front door until ei defensively stood in front of it with her arms out wide. he deadpans, "mom. what are you doing?" ei waves her spatula at him, "it's a school night, young man. you're not supposed to be out and about after eight, remember?"

she frowns when he begins arguing with her. "mom, i'm not going to take too long! i'm just going to do an errand real quick!" scaramouche uncharacteristically clasps his hands together during his explanation. ei exhales through her nose, "... fine. but no later than nine, do you hear me?"

scaramouche nods and rushes into the living room to ruffle fischl's head of fluffy blonde hair, "i'll see you nerds later." bennett eagerly waves, "buh-bye, fischl's brother!" razor throws paper money onto the table, "go fish." bennett sweatdrops, "razor, we're playing monopoly..."

"farewell, dear siblings!" fischl yells as scaramouche and mona rush out the front door. she turns back to the two boys. "bennett, something has peaked my interest. let us indulge in a fine game of go fish!" she announces, sweeping the table clean of their board game with her arm.

ei chuckles, "i think that's enough, honey. bennett's father is here to pick them up."

scaramouche kept on bouncing in his seat the whole car ride that mona had to smack him in the back of the head, which resulted in him threatening to bite off her nails that she just painted. and the second mona pulls into the driveway, scaramouche gets out of the car and practically runs into the live house.

mona speed walks after him, "wait up, you little bastard! i'm wearing heels!" she yelps in surprise when she enters the room scaramouche went into. mona pushes and shoves past people to get to her brother. "archons, it's overflowing in here! much too loud for my taste..." she huffs.

scaramouche is on his tippy toes, indigo eyes closing in on you. you're smiling the whole time and your pretty hands are holding your drumsticks with such passion as you drum to your heart's content. he puts both his hands on his mouth, making an audible squeak. mona smirks, "gosh, you're hopeless."

she takes out her phone and records the performance because she knows very well that the second scaramouche watches your drumming, he won't even bother to save the memory in his camera roll, so mona does it herself since he ends up hating himself for it later.

as the concert goes deeper into the night, people begin to leave, but scaramouche stayed. he always stays until the end. his forehead is covered in a sheet of sweat as you play your drum solo, marking the end of the performance. and mona, much like scaramouche, is left speechless.

a final round of applause goes on for the five band members. yun jin takes a bow, "thank you for listening!" mona looks at her phone and hits the red button, ending the video. "oh, this would look so good on my twitter!" she comments. scaramouche leaves the room without a warning, catching mona off guard as she runs after him.

"what's your deal?" she teases and nudges his arm with her elbow. scaramouche shoves his hands down the pockets of his sweater. "they could have seen me," he throws his head back and mutters, "i should have brought a mask so i could have at least gone to their fan meet."

mona knits her brows together, "seriously? ugh, you're such a wuss. no wonder they don't talk to you when they don't even know you're like, their fanboy?" she opens her makeup compact and double checks her face. scaramouche grumbles, "because it's embarrassing; we're in the same class!"

mona taunts him in a lilting tone, "i'm telling you, someone's going to snatch them up before you. they are famous, after all." scaramouche begins to space out. someone else, admiring you? no, there's no way! he's been your number one admirer ever since you first debuted, hell, before you even began playing in a band!

but of course, it's useless, isn't it? you don't even know him as your fan but rather the cold and mean student council president. oh dear, these times require a very tall and annoying ginger to talk to!

Okay as for plot related thoughts that aren't “oh my God sskk blood sucking canon 2k23”:

I don't think there's any chance for Aya to die. I mean yeah author loves killing children off but bsd doesn't kill characters with names and roles (Akutagawa is half confirmed to be coming back at this point). As for how she's going to survive, my first guess was someone catching her on the fly- I would LOVE Kyouka back, she has been this kind of “saving people deus ex machina” and tbh I'd dig it. If anything because I really want her back and just, where is she?? If anything it'd be kinda plot holey if she didn't show up ever at all. Lucy too could come to save Aya, she already did a very similar move with Atsushi in the skyfall chapters. That being said, it's probably more likely an ability of Aya is going to manifest... I strongly believe she's going to have an ability, if anything because she's named after an author, and all the characters named after authors have abilities (with Higuchi being half confirmed to have one too). I REALLY liked the theory of her having a time manipulation ability (like. really really liked), especially because it'd make the most sense to defeat Fukuchi thanks to an ability that can counter Amenogozen, and again it'd be AMAZING if a little girl was to defeat him, the best possible outcome to me– but as of now any other ability (anything that allows her to survive crushing down) sounds as likely. I'm going to be kinda let down if it's something flying related as for the real author's works (or, God forbid, an ability that is similar to Upon the Tainted Sorrow but less powerful), but eh.

As for the beloved sskk blood sucking: first of all, if anyone interrupts them I'm going to throw hands. That's MY homoerotic bloodsucking moment and they can't ruin this for me. And Atsushi doesn't need to be saved rn, he's literally living his dream. Established that, I'm like, fairly very positive Atsushi is immune to the vampire infection? He's got a self-healing ability so. But also, from a narrative standpoint– c'mon, he's the protagonist, and I know so far I seem like the only one insisting that he should be important, but he's the protagonist, he can't fall in the enemy's hands. Best case scenario is that his blood cures Akutagawa too but that's a bit too hopeful. I've mentioned several times already that I think a great narrative outcome would be a sskk / Fukuchi rematch where they win - to finally give importance and dignity to Atsushi who's been quite sidelined during this arc, to be consistent with the rest of the manga since all arcs so far have ended with sskk fights, to highlight how much the main characters have grown since the other fight and how they can now fully trust each other - but eh, that's definitely delusional. Anyways, excited to see where this is going to go!

Oh hi there, it's been a minute!

Sooo NYCC panel happened, and Dragon Ball Magic/Daima is real!

Under the read more for the links, images, and some of my thoughts, analysis, etc...

First, the name: Daima 大魔 can be translated as big magic, large sorcery, big magic trick...And that 魔 symbol should look familiar to you guys, because it's the same MA from Piccolo DAIMAo, from MA Jr., from MAkkankosappo, from MAsenko, and from MAjin (magic people/population). It's the same word used for magic, sorcery, witchcraft, and hocus pocus style stuff. So... with or without demon connotation, just supernatural magic stuff :p

Then the continuity. When does this happen? There's no DBS refs at all in it, so there's speculation about it happening before DBS (but after the Buu saga since the Buu events are the origin of the story it seems). However... Kibito and Shin are defused. Did they defuse because of the wish? Or is it happening sometime after they get defused in DBS (different versions depending on manga or anime).

We don't know. I would say: we don't care. "Canon" is a lie. Official content (games, anime, manga, movies, tv specials, one shots, promo material, etc..) tend to steal from each other and reuse whatever is interesting for the following stories. Content is recycled and reused and readapted to fit whatever narrative of the current story beat (or arc/saga if we're generous) and that's it.

Nakatsuru at the character design and corrections, Aya Komaki and Yoshitaka Yashima in the direction roles. Art direction is Takahashi Kurahashi (big background artist, did Yo SonGoku a while ago), and some GOATED names for the animation: Chikashi Kubota, Naohiro Shintani, Yuya Takahashi, Takeo Ide, and Miyako Tsuji. Kid versions of everyone look super cute, but there was no Gohan on sight. It has to take place "after the Buu saga", but considering the designs, I do think this is kinda meant to be before Pan and Bra were born.

Much interest on my end because it looks amazing even if it's not the serious type of story I usually enjoy. But it looks so good!

BSD S5 EP 7

That was great! Bones has a favorite arc and it is very obvious, don't particularly mind tho! I'm glad this arc is being done so amazingly! more in detail now

First up, we've got Meursault! They included the shojo panel!! Nikolai was wonderful, I adore how Bones is animating him. And they have actually been making Fyodor pretty these past few episodes! And, of course, the dancing. Holy Shit the DANCING!!!! They were so gay! It was animated so well! And Dazai was absolutely flirting with Sigma, that was such Flirting, I am a soukoku shipper, but I think I might become a multishipper now he was flirting with him so hard!

On to the airport! Aya and Bram my beloveds. Bram-pack. Also Kenji calling his magic detective job where he's constantly fighting terrorists a side hustle. My baby boy I love him.

And of course, Kenji and Tecchou fight! It has begun! We got the brief second of Tecchou going "Oh your gonna help me find my boyfriend? Great! Appreciate it!" before remembering his job. Also, seeing as we're getting the rest of the fight next ep, that means we're gonna get "For five minutes I will put Jounno above justice" next episode!! If bones doesn't include that line I will riot. Eeeeee! I'm so excited!

And the rest of the hunting dogs too! Oh my god TERUKO! She looked so pretty and was animated so well and her expressions when watching Tachihara's video! Aaahhhh- all the hunting dogs care about each other SO MUCH!! I Adore Them.

And of course, Chuuya showed up! My boi! And they made him do the weirdest little 'Eeeyah'! What was that noise! I want to call it a screech but it really wasn't! But either way I'm SO glad to see him! I'm sure nothing bad will happen to him during his stay in Mersault!

Overall, I have no real complaints about this episode! They made Dazai more nonchalant and less angry about Fyodor using Chuuya, and while I would rather they not have done that, it honestly doesn't upset me much and the greatness of the rest of the episode more then made up for it in my eyes! Sucks for the hardcore skk lovers tho.

Anyways, yeah! Bones has favorites and I am not at all upset that this arc is one of them! Can't wait for next week!

Fyolai's entire thing was ?? so good to me actually,,, I quite liked it pfft- maybe Fyodor deserved to explode (I say this affectionately)- Nikolai's reactions too and the framing of showing only his hidden eye when he's like 'happy' / playing a character but then turning so u only see his scared eye when he's geuininely concerned is so fucking good,,, him changing his mind abt how he felt abt it too,,,

also fyodor's last words being Jesus's when he was crucified ?? foreshadowing or nah?? will he come back?? hmmmm :thank:

ok my baby my number 1 baby of all time is alaira. she is an arcane trickster rogure who is a water genasi. she went to wizard school and got kicked out and framed for cheating (she didn't fuckn do it) but then went to work as a sex worker and then realised that being a theif was actually super easy and fun so she did that for a bit, but still had these like small ish magic abilities from when she was a wizard. so like, she's a charisma rogue, but with intelligence skills, which is a bit rough for her bc her spells r quite weak HAHA. but then we went back to her hometown and the wizard principal basically acknowledged that he knew she didn't cheat the whole time. so she was really mad but as an apology he gave her one of those big tomes that PERMANENTLY INCREASES UR INT BY 2...... and then we levelled up so i took a level in wizard (and changed the fighter level i had at that point to wizard) so now i'm an arcane trickster rogue x bladesinger wizard (level 11) and it's pretty slay!! she loves her daggers n stuff, and loves flirting, but her party is suuuuper trusting of literally everyone so she ends up being the angery Leader (actually now that i think about it i think kaz of six of crows is the right vibe.... but i was actually enormously inspired by celaena sardothien from throne of glass first two books vibe.) anyway we're about to fight an ancient white dragon as a party so lets see how that goes.... tho we did just beat its death tyrant lair guardian!!!!

my other characters are less active atm, but include a brainwashed protection/order cleric (we homebrewed her subclass), a circle of stars druid, and a tiefling bard. i don't think any of those r on their way back into rotation tho.... due to Social Circumstances.

However i also dm a game for my friends!!! i hope that continues soon... my most Beloved NPCs are a halfling monk and a human Almost Princess who are in love.

[Btw I LOVE ITO’S WORK but I feel like it’s very hard to translate into animation because it takes away from the magic the drawn medium provides for the story’s pacing, tone and overall look. This isn’t a criticism to Ito or the people who made the anime, it’s just things I liked and disliked in general!!]

Beautiful environments and engaging story!! Kept me at the edge of my seat! I loved the sister character (the protag’s sister not the dead one 💀). Such an interesting concept!!

2. Layers of Terror

The horror lay in the relationship between the mother and her two daughters- her desire to be adored pulled to an extreme by her selfishness

3. The Bully

Horrifying example of different abuses and its victims. How the woman fell back on old habits that she never truly regretted or grew out of. Poor Nao who remained blind to his abuser and his poor son who will suffer a terrible fate. All because the woman couldn’t move on from her childhood

4. Whispering Woman

Predictable but I honestly loved the character of the whispering woman and her story. She was so eerie but beautiful. I really wanna say she had a genuine desire to help the girl at least at some point, but it also feels somewhat manipulative

5. Long Hair in the Attic

I wanted her to better herself to badly :(((

I love the protagonist and her sister pls make them happy :(

6. The Story of the Mysterious Tunnel

A little dull at times but the concept is so terrifying and the horror was so well drawn!! I loved the protag and the little sister

7. Tomie’s Photos

Beautiful and horrifying at once!! The storyline was engaging and personally I loved the protagonist. Surprised me how chill she was after witnessing the brutality that Tomie’s henchmen did tho💀💀💀💀 like “oh well better clean up ig”

8. Headless Statues

Gave me the same vibes as Tomie’s Photos in the sense of the setting but it was a fun episode! Was rooting for the protag the whole way and the statues are so interesting

9. Intruder

The opening was never really explained but the concept is really interesting and I loved the characters!!! Kinda like the Scooby gang!!

10. The Strange Hikizuri Siblings

HITOSHI DESERVES BETTER I LOVE HIM‼️‼️‼️ that’s it

11. Hanging Blimp

It’s a little strange but I enjoyed it overall :]

I HATE SOICHI I HATE HIM I HATE HIM (he infuriated me it was not enjoyable) also what was up with that carpenter guy???? Anyway overall not very engaging

18. Where the Sandman Lives

Very sweet relationship between Mari and her friend and how she’s willing to enter the Dream world to not abandon her friend. However it was mostly dull and the ending was just meh

19. Unendurable Laberynth

Maybe I just didn’t understand this one but it was kind of a bore :/
