first things first i just wanna say ahead of time that i have no hate to anyone who ships a specific ship that i mention, these are just my opinions :)

caution to everyone btw, im not a malina, nikolina, or darklina shipper but out of the three i like nikolina best since i genuinely liked them but i like zoyalai way more and nikolai also basically just wanted to marry alina for political purposes so yeah

lets start with the darkling. this ones probably the easiest. his stance, position, and where hes standing kind of reflects how he only wants to control and use alina. idk if u can tell, but i have a passionate hate for him.

ok next: mal. hm. where to start. to me, the way that hes looking at alina but not fully taking her hand is like showing that he loves alina, but in the end he never gave her anything. he wasnt there for her in the end and so hes not meeting her halfway. also he has the personality of a wet paper towel

lastly: nikolai. my beautiful amazing nikolai. he gave alina so much, and tried so hard to love her but he stated HIMSELF that he didnt love her (he said he liked alina and COULDVE grown to love her, but he didnt love her). and u can see this in the way he holds her hand firmly (giving her a lot) but he doesnt truly love her (hes not looking at her)

i just wish that alina ended up with someone who truly did love her and actually SHOWED her that they did. and believe me, genya and david is amazing and i love them sm and row mentally damaged me but genya and alina had a good setup for being ✨romantically involved✨

yes ik it never quite reached the level for me where i was like SHIP SHIP SHIP THESE TWO ARE ALL THAT COULD EVER BE YESS but there was def some potential for those two.

anyway yeah 🥲 this is mainly just my opinions on the ships and the whole alina ship quarrel but the fanart reminded me of it

rafael loves physical affection in a relationship, even if it's not always outwardly romantic. everything from you offering a massage after a long day of work to a reassuring squeeze of his shoulder as he works, he's head over heels for you. this goes both ways!

he especially loves when the two of you can curl up together and read or when you stay the night to cuddle in bed. he's the type to love soft displays of affection, whether it's kisses pressed gently into your neck when you wake up in the morning or sitting in each other's arms on a quiet afternoon. though he isn't against pda, he loves stolen moments together when it's just the two of you together. he's just a big softie :)

going along with that, he loves making gifts for you! he and his brother exchange gifts for important days every year, so it's kind of been ingrained in his head to do so already. with you, it's different. he'll spend hours baking you sweets and cakes for your birthday or finding the rarest stone he can get his hands on to give as a gift. when he finally figures out some new tool or weapon upgrade, you're the very first person he brings to try it out. he just loves seeing you smile!!

scott loves a good compliment! he's the type to get very internally self-conscious, even if he'll rarely let that show. literally praise him in any way and he's all yours :) he especially loves when you compliment his body, his work, or some aspect of his personality like his perseverance. he doesn't work out so much for nothing! being in as many unsuccessful relationships as he has in his past, he's developed a mindset that there's something about him that's ruining them. reassuring him that he's good, even with a casual "looking good today," or "im proud of you" every now and then.

going along with this, acknowledgement of his work is especially great. he's put so much of his life into his field and so much effort into preserving the island's museum, and having an s/o who will let him infodump all about whatever he finds interesting makes him melt :)

scott is very touchy when you're together! he's proud to be with you and isn't afraid to show it, aka he's definitely not shy about pda. he's happy to shower you with kisses at the drop of a hat, to take your hand in his or drape an arm around your shoulder while out together. he can't get enough of you!

kenny!! his biggest thing is probably quality time. he loves just being around you! whether it's spending time together while he shows you how to take care of animals or introduces you to new arrivals around the ranch, listening to him play music in the early hours of the morning, or just sitting together and eating packed meals beside the river–he just wants to spend time with you.

most if not all of the dates he invites you on involve just the two of you together in a place that's important to him. he'll take you to sleep under the stars, to hike through the forest, to enjoy an afternoon by the lake, etc. even inside he's weak for comfortable evenings spent curled up together watching TV or reading together. he just wants to be able to love being with you, to enjoy your presence and the sound of your voice as you tell him about your day. that simple domesticity is all he really wants.

buuut he also like to give you more 😌 both before you get together and even more so after, he'll do whatever he thinks will make your life easier. living so close to your farm definitely helps out with that! he'll stop by with extra eggs or animal feed every now and then if he notices you're running low, he'll help collect products from the animals on your farm, he'll give you a hand watering crops, etc. he just loves to help!

he melts if you do the same for him, even if it's something as simple as stopping by on the morning to help him milk the cows. just the act of taking time out of ones routine to make the other's life even a little easier is a pure show of love to him. you'll especially notice him stopping by to help out more and more in the days leading up to him asking you out for the first time 😌

Of course, thank you for the request :) I hope you like it and received what you wanted <3

-Hunter would know instantly that something was different about you even without asking, most of the time he would think that you were angry/upset with him. This would send him into panic mode which would always lead to him bombarding you with questions. When he figures out that you are not mad or upset with him a weight is lifted off his shoulders again. But when he figures out that you are sick he falls back into panic mode.

-It doesn't matter whether you are bed-bound sick or just a little sore throat or a headache, Hunter would be there and go above and beyond.

-Anything you wanted he would give to you, he hates seeing you sick.

-If you had to take a day or two off school Hunter would barely get any work done, he sends the days without you just thinking about you.

-And sometimes if you had to stay off school he would leave school at lunch time, skipping the rest of the day just to come see you.

I feel like he would google what to do when your significant other is sick and he would honest take notes.

-He didn't care that you were sick, he still would come over or drag you to his house to cuddle with you. He would even try to kiss you [ "Hunter, I'm sick you can't kiss me," you say pulling away. "Whyyy?" He says craving your lips. "Because it's gross and you may get sick", you say giggling at his little tantrum. He cups the side of your face before saying " I don't care"].

-I feel like he would play music for you, obviously not too loud as you are sick, but he would definitely play.

-He would sing you to sleep, a quiet lullaby that only you would ever be able to here.

-He would run you a nice bath with your favourite bubbles in it, and for when you get out he would have your favourite type of soup ready for you to enjoy in his warm cosy bed with him by your side.

-He hates and I mean hates people touching his hair, but he knows that you are obsessed with it. So one time when you were sick he let you braid it to make you feel better and laugh. He hated it being in braids so after a few pictures and videos he took them out. However, he continues to let you play with his hair whenever you want. He would never admit it, but he loves it when you play with his hair now. He will moan about it when you ask him but is secretly begging for it.

-When Hunter feels bad about something (especially when you guys fight) Hunter would go out and buy you something. It isn't that much of a healthy habit, but he does it out of love to show you that he is sorry for what happened and that he does care about you. So when you are quite ill he will sometimes go out and buy you something to cheer you up. You tell him not to but when he is out if he sees something that you would love nothing is stopping him from buying it for you. He just feels bad that you are sick, and you really do appreciate his gifts.

-One time when you were sick he let you force him into a spa/pamper night. Which eventually leads to you trying to convince him to let you do his makeup. He tells you no but you had already made up your mind. He tried to run away but you pinned him down to the bed so you could do his make-up. Usually, Hunter could easily just throw you off of him he wouldn't even be in a situation where he was pinned down by you since he was a lot stronger than you. However, since you were sick you were already weaker than usual and Hunter noticed this. So he just let you pin him down, he didn't want to hurt you and he thought he would just let it happen anyway since it made you happy and kind of distract you from your illness.

-Watching Disney films and cartoons is a must, you guys did this every so often anyways and he knows that you love them. So he figured he would turn it up a notch and watch a lot of them back to back.

-He would 1000% force you to wear his clothes, he wants you to wear them 24/7 however when you are sick he wants you to wear them even more. I think it's like a safety thing like he thinks that nothing could hurt you since you are wearing his clothes. He always protects you and always will, so he feels like wearing his clothes is just another layer of his protection for you.

-He worries, like a lot, even if it is just a little headache he hates to see it. He loves you, more than anything even his hair. So seeing you ill or in pain hurts him more than you think. He would do anything to make you feel better. Such a sweetheart <3

Farena died and his brother took over.

I mentioned a little bit about what happened to Cheka's mother in this ask. So for Leona to become King, Something had to have happened to his sister-in-law. In this AU, she is either in a coma or incapacitated. You know how Disney keeps at least one parent alive? And then kills them off later??? jkjkjk 😂😂

To be honest, I forgot about her. It was when I was answering my last ask, that I remembered that she could technically take over for her husband. But, I didn’t want that. I wanted Leona to take over.

Because Leona had to learn, sometimes you might get what you always wanted, but at a cost that you never wanted.

That's why Farena, his wife, and Cheka had to suffer.  

Farena died in battle.

His wife was injured, to the point that she cannot rule.

Cheka is too young to rule and he has to grieve his parents loss.

If I really wanted to make this angsty, Cheka would have perished at one point too (maybe saving Leona??). Then, it would really hit Leona wouldn’t it? How much he lost and how much more he has to do to get back those he loved.

it could practically bring him to his knees, especially if that's what The Great Force is trying.

Anyways, off topic, but Cheka’s Mother is incapacitated. Even if she was awake, she wouldn't be able to rule. Her health is messed up and she has Cheka to look after and grieve as well. 

Cheka loves his uncle and is of course always supporting him, especially against those who speak ill of Leona.

it is with Cheka’s help that Leona is able to rule because while some people dont trust Leona, they trust Cheka.

Cheka wasn't at the battle that almost cost bth his parents lives, but he has his fair share of battles. Assassin coming after him, but he was able to escape them and fight them off. Leona, after all, taught him how to protect himself.

Yes, MC is there for Leona and Cheka once in awhile.

MC is almost like a messenger. They go from place to place checking up on their friends and seeing as MC is the only one they can really trust?? 

MC is more important than ever future to past timeline.

MC is the messenger bunny who gives comfort 🥺🥺🥺 and is a shoulder to cry on
