--Nek: Laura non c'e: Recently, I listened through the songs of Sanremo 1997, and I've heard this one was a hit. It didn't instantly grab me other than with the lyrics, but I find myself playing this quite often!

--Savage Garden: Universe -- I love Savage Garden's debut; all of their songs are awesome and I always go back to them. Universe inspired one of my poems, and I like the mix of sensuality and doubt in the lyrics.

--Tamino: The First Disciple -- I've gotten to really love Tamino's discography recently, and this stands out in particular, because of its introspective feel. I like the meditation on the rise to fame, and the oud helps it wonderfully.

--Teya Dora: Dzanum -- I found out about this recently, because it was trending on LyricsTranslate. And it's so beautifully melancholic, with a dark soundscape and haunting lyrics. Expect a few works inspired by this song.

--Luna Amara: Roşu aprins -- Super touching and beautiful.

this zine may not be about you. for a long time these thoughts were in my brain but only to lovingly yell at my friends. this zine may be about you but not helpful to you at this time. i hope it's helpful to some though.

if you like this zine you may also like the body neutrality movement. and the song "can't go back" by the crane wives, which i kinda quoted as well. leave the rest behind.

you gotta learn. you gotta learn that learning doesn't mean feeling bad.

it doesn't help you act right to feel bad about previous things. guilt is useful to a point. that point is reached when you know what you did wrong

Scarlet Red

--prompt from my own, "bright red". Also inspired by "Roşu aprins" by Luna amara

I color my lips until they blaze a scarlet red, blowing a kiss, but unraveling a thread.

I bite on my flesh, with teeth white as the moon. Waiting, I watch as a bird slips into a cloud and vanishes in the rain, waiting to fall.

All has gone gray; despite the mist clearing up the gunk in my eyes, I forgot what purple was.

But I do remember that scarlet, that bright red...

Red, not of fires nor of alarms. Red, not of burning coals nor of rancid blood.

No--it's the red of a comforting sunset, a moment of bliss before the darkness falls. It's the red of a rose blooming amongst ashes, feeding itself with broken sunlight and a steady rain. --Elda Mengisto
