End of year display from last year (for my art class.) Was very rushed towards the end but I’m pretty happy with how it ended up. The theme was home so I set up the display like a living room. <33
Gamer nerds and art geeks, hit me up with ideas. The Love of My Life (tm) and partner of 24 years has asked for something very specific for a present -- not in brand, but in purpose -- and I'm struggling to figure out the best option.
The tl;dr is that he has many maps that he would like to display, both during our regular (in-person) D&D game, and for art purposes in his office on not-game-days.
He wants the display thing to be:
Tall enough to be seen by people sitting around a standard table, and it must stand on its own on the floor (there's no space on the table when we play);
Collapsible and lightweight, so that he can bring it to other locations when we play at other people's houses;
Able to display maps and art of various sizes, both in portrait and landscape mode;
Easy to switch out the art;
And I need it to ship to Canada & be under $200 Canadian.
I've looked at easels, and projection screen holders, and various clip-on-art-display things, and have yet to find something that meets the criteria. They're too small or not collapsible or table top or not resizeable or made to display one thing permanently.
For my final display, I printed out both versions of my poster in size A2 and hung them to the wall amongst my classmates' work. I feel that I was overall successful in both versions of my design and that I have gained much knowledge about graphic design for my second year.
