Albie's design is pretty average and bugs a lot of people, so I'd figure I'd draw Albie in The Magic School Bus Rides Again artstyle (the specials art- style, to be exact) and make them less Cocomelon-ish and simple and look like an actual bus. First I made their face look more like a bus face, as well as mixing up their design with Rides Again Bus's design. Now Albie looks more like a bus in this style, doesn't it? Still looks simple, but also resembles a school bus.

I like how this came out, considering this is the first time I mixed up art-styles. I want to know what you guys think.

Though this post may be outdated, I find it interesting seeing all the multiple artists working on the same media.

You can see all the quirks and style choices that make them stand out amongst others.

I actually tried mimicking the Pokémon style a while back. It was my first time, and I didn’t really have a lot of references.

The different art styles mixed me up so badly that I ended up with a Take/James Turner style rather than a Ken Sugimori-ish style, which I believe to be the most recognizable when someone thinks of Pokémon trainer art.

I used the Galar Trainer Girl (Gloria) for my main reference, which probably let to my art looking like it would belong in Sword and Shield lmao.

Maybe I’ll try to draw her in the Pokémon style again, this time more accurate Sugimori’s style around maybe Gen 3/Gen 4 style.

Disclaimer: This information is collected through illustrators listed in TCG cards, bulbapedia and observational analysis made by myself, since much of the information regarding official art is not published. So there might be errors. Ken Sugimori is also still working on both pokemon and human characters for the series, so he is likely behind many designs that are simply illustrated by someone else. He should still not be credited for work he did not do.

Decided to expand on my thoughts about people praising Sugimori for having improved his art over the years. While it’s entirely true that he is much better than he used to, the examples shared in posts like that are 90% of the time not drawn by Sugimori at all. So let’s stop spreading misinformation as the differences in art style can be easily pointed out.

EDIT: Maxie’s redesign is drawn by Sugimori, not Ohmura. I actually knew that when I was collecting the pictures but ended up putting it on the wrong page since Archie was there :’D
