STOP BEING SELF CONSCIOUS ABOUT YOUR CREATIONS STOP SECOND GUESSING WHAT YOU REALLY WANNA DO STOP DEBATING IT'S WORTH. LET YOUR ART SERVE YOU INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND
Currently writing something that I'm obsessed with. Highly advise this. Fall in love with what you're working on, fall in love with your art-- whether that's writing, painting, fabric or needle crafts, calligraphy, making clothes, design... Whatever it is, do it in a way that brings you joy.
I wish you joy in what you do, and happy muses, and the perfect meetings of time and motivation.
Tbh it's so amazing and inspiring when you go to read a small artist's comic, and as you're reading it you can watch as the art gets better and better!! You're watching their improvement due to all the practice that goes into making a comic 💜
This is for all the projects that never got finished-for whatever reason-all the abandoned wips, all the drawings that never got finished, the songs that never got sung, and for the person who started them because even if you didn’t finish them you still started and sometimes thats all that maters. Mabye you burntout and lost motivation, mabye you have artists/writers block, mabye your struggling with other stuff right now, but whatevers going on, know that you don’t owe anyone your art.
You can work on it again when you’re ready, or mabye you never will be and thats okay.
So yeah, this is for all the art that never got finished.
PSA for webcomic artists: if you're feeling demotivated, look back at the pages you've already done. Your initial concept sketches, your script. Get hyped on your own story. Just because you probably overcommitted to something that you didn't realize would take years of your life to finish doesn't mean you can't be giddy and proud of what you've already done. It's a journey, not a destination.
Did you know? Or did you forget? You can do whatever you want with your art. Put random scribbles wherever. Horizontal lines over your character. Add dots everywhere and on everything. Draw eyes different than the rest of the face. Change art styles halfway through. Cut and glue paper cutouts. Use paints and markers together. Use all the filters. Use photos on top to add texture.
You can do what you want. Like literally literally literally.
Add a rubber ducky in the corner for no reason, put text in different languages on the background, leave your handprints or wipe your fingers on the paper.
Go have fun now this stuff isn't meant to be stressful for you
