dewdrop ghoul headcanon:

his horns are white due to his transition from water to fire. they got bleached the same way coral reefs do when the temperatures rise. like coral, they used to be brightly coloured because of the algae that accumulated on them, when he spent a lot of time in water.

when he became a fire ghoul and his natural body temperature increased too much, the algae became toxic and burnt, died off, leaving his horns bleached white and bone dry.

like he will refuse to let you out of his proximity for even a minute, so he’ll do one of two things

1. move you into his office at the port mafia base (this includes all your belongings as well. all of them.) 

he literally bought a pull out couch that turns into a bed just so you have somewhere comfy to sleep

this once resulted in MORI coming to the apartment because he needed chuuya and chuuya was too busy helping you to pick up any of his calls.. 😭 having mori in your apartment while you were a snotty red faced mess was not exactly how you wanted your afternoon to go

despite him being a pain in the ass you always appreciate his efforts and at the end of the day, even if youre still feeling unwell, you find being around chuuya always makes your sick days a little better

he takes sicknesses so seriously !!! he knows it isn’t something to take lightly at all and he really tries to help you when you are sick 

will try finish all his jobs as soon as possible even if it means killing literally everyone in his way just so he can get home and tend to you

if he’s rly worried over you he’ll ask mori for a day off... and mori gives it to him i mean when has akutagawa ever been this desperate before

i headcanon that gin does all the cooking so he will call her and ask if she can make soups or whatever food you want and she always delivers (i mean youre her brothers partner!! she loves u sm !!!)

he’ll take your fever and will literally hand feed you if your bodys too sore to do it yourself

u only let him stay so close to you because he wears a mask for his own safety when he’s around you

when ur asleep sometimes he’ll sneak you a little forehead kiss but ONLY when your asleep he has an image to uphold here!!

he’ll run you warm baths and will pour in whatever scent and salts are your favourite

and if you’re really sore he’ll even help you wash your body 

and these r your FAVOURITE moments with him ever there is nothing better than akutagawa pressing circles into your back with your favourite soap 

he’ll end it with a kiss to the top of your head, letting you know he’ll be just outside the door if you need any help HES SO CUTE 

he rly just tries anything to make you feel better, he know’s how horrible sickness is, even if all you have is a small cold

when you mention how much he mustve missed you when you’re cuddling in bed once youre feeling better he’ll mumble a small “you wish” but you can feel him smiling into your back

sometimes you lie about feeling sore because nothing is better than sitting between his legs while he works on your back 

and if he catches on to your lie he doesnt even care! nothing is better to him than making you feel comfortable 

usually the day will end with him putting a movie on (only if you want to watch something) and he’ll wrap you up in a mountain of blankets and make you some tea 

you usually fall asleep during the movie so he’ll give you a chaste forehead kiss and snuggle up next to you cue you getting angry when you wake up to him clinging onto you

she’ll spend all her free time at your side (despite your protests) and since you refuse to let her indulge in cuddles she’ll prompt to sitting next to you and holding your hand.. and plz just let her do this she misses u sm

since she can’t kiss you she’ll randomly bend down at times and kiss each of your knuckles 😭😭💔💔💔 and if you try to protest she doesn’t care she needs to kiss you one way or another

one time you gave in and let her cuddle you because she was practically begging and it ended up with the two of you sick in bed the next day... you don’t let her do that anymore!

and it’s finally time to use her cooking skills for her own priorities those scabby boys

she’ll cook you soup after soup because she knows even if you do want something that’s not a liquid you’re not gonna be able to eat it anyways, so she spends her time making meals she knows you’ll actually be able to eat

if you’re struggling to eat she’ll sit with you and take her time eating her own meal just so you don’t feel any pressure to rush yourself

and if you can’t eat that’s okay too!! she’ll make you some tea or just water if that’s all you want and will leave you to drink it as you please

she’ll also massage you if you’re feeling sore, she loves doing it too the tenderness of it makes her heart melt

she’ll rub small circles into your forearms, knead the skin on your back and legs, whatever you want!

when you’re tired and want to sleep she’ll layer as many blankets on top of you as you want 

she prompts to sleeping on the couch and you usually try to protest because after all she’s done for you she deserves a good nights rest but she refuses your pleads

you usually wake up to her sleeping with you, but you can tell she’s tried to distance herself from you by the gap between your bodies and when she wakes up she’ll greet you with a quick kiss to your crown, you decide she deserves it

Hey CJ, you mentioned that you disagree with a lot of your old TWDG opinions, any that stand out you wanna share? Also i agree with what you said about wanting to play the series for the first time again with no prior knowledge - i would love to meet louis character for the first time again.

Yeah, some opinions have changed with time and moving on from being a hardcore, active fan in the fandom. I'm pretty sure I've talked about some of them more recently, like how I used to not like Jane but now I've become something of a "Jane apologist," if you will.

I was also super vocal about hating the Clementine comics when the 12-page comic dropped, and I'm pretty sure I was shitty about Tillie Walden... which I look back on now and feel embarrassed. In fact, I specifically remember calling attention to the fact that Skybound turned off comments on the first book trailer and on their instagram, twitter, etc. and being like, "look at these COWARDS! they know we hate the comic and that Tillie's a bad artist, they're trying to shut us up!" ........but then I heard they turned them off because Tillie was getting threats, and it caused me to dig around and see the vile shit fans were saying.... It gave me pause to think things through and I feel very differently about it all now.

I've also changed my mind on Minerva. Like Jane, there was a loooong period of time where I didn't like her, but now? I think she's great. A real tragedy.

In fact, real talk, I think my perspective on most of the female characters in TWDG has shifted dramatically. I've done a lot of thinking on this just in general; I'm much harder on female characters than male characters. I can pretend like noooooo I was always soooo fair... but no, not always. I'm sure it's from some deep-rooted, internalized misogyny I have that I'm working on, but I also think the games sometimes neglect those characters, too. Which makes it easier to brush them off as just "poorly-written" and "bad characters" if I don't like them when that's not always the case.

Or let's be real, we all know how this goes; the games give us a flawed male character and fans are like "he's my blorbo, here's a 50k essay about why he deserved better and a list of my headcanons and the twenty AUs I've written for them-" but then a female character's just as flawed and fans are like "lol she's poorly written, here's an essay on why-"

Don't look at me like that. I know I'm guilty of this. I know y'all remember Mitch. Back in the day, Mitch was my boy and I used to write about him all the time but like... god forbid I put that much effort into writing about Violet or Minerva, right?

Or even look at Kate, for example. Past CJ would've talked about how much she doesn't like Kate and she hates the forced romance with Javi, she's just there as a way to make David and Javi fight, etc. But you ask me about Kate now and I'm like, "Girl, ANF did you so dirty, you didn't deserve this."

Or how about Bonnie in S2? We all love to hate on Bonnie, but like... she's such an interesting character?? She's a recovering drug addict so desperate for a place, and you can see Carver's manipulation at play in the way she talks about him to Clementine. It takes seeing him physically beat Kenny within an inch of his life before she's like "Yeah no, fuck this, we're leaving tonight." And we give her shit about Luke's death and being mean to Clementine but frankly? Yeah, she's mean to Clementine and that's fine.

What, it's okay for Kenny to lash out and call her a stupid kid when Sarita dies because he's your poor meow meow and it makes his character soooo morally gray and complex? But Bonnie lashes out about Luke's death and suddenly she's just a massive piece of shit? No complexities or anything? There's no grey morality? No underlying motive or emotions behind the choice to abandon the group with Mike and Arvo?? She's just a bitch??

And do I even need to talk about Sarah? Hmm? We all know how Sarah was received and how fans still talk about her. Again, Sarah has a complete meltdown over losing her father and people get hurt, and fans wish death upon her... but Kenny has a meltdown and brutally beats up Arvo or threatens to smack Clementine or a number of things.... "that's fine, he's just really upset, he lost his family, y'know? everyone keeps trying to GASLIGHT me that he's bad but if you really think about it, Arvo totally deserved to be abused and it's actually Clementine's fault Kenny hit her because she tried to stop him-"

I just... the lengths we go to justify and defend this violent, toxic character but then act like Jane is the worst, I can't-

It's so funny to me whenever I see someone in the fandom complain about wanting more morally grey, flawed female characters because like... y'all couldn't even handle Jane. Or Lilly. Or Sarah. Or Bonnie. Rebecca. Eleanor. Christa. Minerva and Violet, in a lot of cases. So like... what do you actually want?

Note that I'm guilty of this, too, and I've asked myself that question... haven't fully worked out the answer yet.

That's the major thing that comes to mind about opinions I had that I've changed my mind about. I think a big factor in that is letting twdg go and getting invested in other fandoms, doing a lot more reading, getting back into writing, etc. Obviously I've really gotten into the Dragon Age fandom and that's what triggered this "journey of self-reflection~" when it comes to how I perceive female characters. Like, you want flawed, morally-grey ladies? That's your series... assuming you can actually handle it.

But I also recently finished a playthrough of Fallout New Vegas and remembered my love for Veronica Santangelo, like... I don't care that the game doesn't technically have romance, that's my girlfriend, I love her. Then the other night I finished my first playthrough of Life is Strange True Colors [I know, where the fuck have I been, right?] and I spent 40% of the time looking at flowers, 10% being sad about Gabe, and the other 50% trying to figure out who I liked more, Steph or Ryan.

I've also been reading a lot of wlw novels which is just..... THAT'S a whole mess I won't get into because this is already long enough and you didn't ask. Just know that's also another factor in this reflection.

And to answer the other part of your ask: I miss Louis. I would love to play TFS again for the first time again, that was a fun time.

I have songs that inspire me to think about the fic in question and the characters, but I usually need minimalism while actually writing. 23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

putting this under a cut because there are SO DAMN MANY GOOD GOD...........

the biggest would be finishing the Kryptonian superbat au, which would be (mild spoilers?) sort of a sequel to isostatic. It was my NaNo project in 2022 but I had to stop about 25k in for Reasons. I think once it’s done it’ll land in the 40k ish range? There Will Be Footnotes.

of course finishing we shall be free; we shall find peace, but tbh I was pretty damn sure I was never going to finish that in a year. I made about 45k of progress on it during NaNo this year, but, horrifyingly, that only got me about...halfway…through the plot outline. this mfer is a SLOW slow burn

I really wanted to participate more in bottom bruce wayne october with various superbat ideas and ended up with 4 drafts, one of which was done enough to end off to januariat to be beta read, but I just couldn’t figure out how a few paragraphs in that would flow, which is usually a symptom of being unsatisfied with a deeper issue. So the catboy pwp, the chastity belt dkos-ish au, the sex pollen, and the [redacted fic that shall remain undescribed bc I will never have the nerve to publish it except on anon] all remain in tragic stages of unfinishedment

speaking of various pwps, I really wanted to make progress on an immediate post-wf289 fic where the ashes of the Kryll give superbat low-level temporary telepathic empathy and of course they've been pining for each other for years and do it very tenderly and probably weep manly tears, because that's the bronze age worlds finest vibe <3

The claspers whumpfic where clark gets shrapneled and bruce has to do emergency surgery and oh no discovers his claspers remains one scene. I need to look up best practices in octopus physical therapy for this though if it gives you some idea of the intended plot. This would be a prequel/backstory to make this place your home and a home for my xeno clark headcanons in general

I really want to do an omegaverse fic that’s the opposite of the 'oh no, I’ve just gone into heat and I have no plans, you’ll just have to sleep with me' trope. like, bruce's contingency plans have fallen through yeah, but with two weeks advance notice and he's asking clark for a gentleman's favor and there's traditional style courting with cheese plates and possibly slow dancing. also maybe to incorporate xenomegaverse Delta clark and also how much more dangerous Poison Ivy would be in an omegaverse setting

I still have aspirations for a sequel to tacere featuring Kara acclimating to life on earth, but that’s on the back burner until I read more of her comics bc i know that plot's been done over and over and i want to be sure i know what the canon takes are

every time i watch any given jl episode i want to write a fic where dcauclarkie my problematic rectangular fave gets some god damn therapy. this has been the state of my brain for two years and it may in fact be time to pick up my first ever attempt at dc fic, which was post-stas pre-jls1 fic that attempted to explain why the US government would ever trust dcauclark again by lifting the plot of panic in the sky from the reeves show (ft. amnesiac clark)

what do you headcanon different characters heights as?

Some characters actually have official heights, but I headcanon a few of them.

It's canon that Larry is 6'4, and I believe that Tripp, Lingard, Ben Paul, Jesus, Alvin and Nick are probably in his vicinity, making them the tallest characters in the game. Lee SHOULD be 6'2, according to the drugstore's barometer. It's also confirmed that Ruby is 4'9, probably making her the shortest out of anyone who isn't a child.

A headcanon: whenever Monika feels blue for whatever reason, she often likes to play on her piano, both her own tunes and covers of stuff from many different genres. One of her favorite pieces to play is a classical song from composer Arvo Part called "Spiegel im Spiegel" (you may be more familiar with it as the piece that played during one of the trailers for the film "Gravity" back in the day).

Sayori, being a big fan of her playing, went out of her way one time to buy a cello and take lessons from a teacher for it, JUST so she could accompany Monika on the piece at least twice--both in private and in front of the others. Though the cello hyperfixation didn't last forever, Monika and Sayori still love and cherish each other all the more for the time they shared playing together, with Monika tearing up at the thought of Sayori going as far out of her way as she did just to share her musical joy and Sayori still feeling inspired to pick the cello back up again every once in a while because of how much she loved the experience.

Ahhhhh!!! Love it. But yeah Monika gets stressed a lot and piano is surprisingly one of only 2 things she doesn’t feel forced to do, and if it wasn’t for piano she would probably gotten into worse hobbies to say the least (smoking and/or drinking).

But Sayori would definitely just hyperfixate on an instrument that goes well with classical piano and then just kinda ghost drop it, only to play a bit just to make Monika happy or to spend time with her.

Discipline the children? HA. No, he’s sitting down in the corner with them because he’s an enabler and could never say no to a cute pouty face.

Actually allows the kids to socialise with their cousins. What do you mean? Of course he isn’t doing it to have his gaggle of little monsters corrupt Ñolvo and Arvo’s well behaved kids, why would he do that.

Cried for a week straight when he found out Káno was making heart eyes at Findo.

Then he spent a fortnight locked up in his forge and came back with a set of two identical daggers he gave Káno without explanation.

Constantly asks Tyelpe to spy on Nelyo and Finno because goddammit he wants more grandchildren.

Gets drunk easily.

He’s the type of drunk who cries for everything.

He will also constantly ask for Nerdanel like an excited puppy.

Overgrown cat behaviour. And no, he does this sober.

Extended family dinners with half siblings? Will -naturally- push Ñolvo’s cup/utensils to the floor ‘by accident’. Blackmailed by Finwë to stay in Arvo’s house overnight? Slams doors, pushes furniture around, drops shit on the floor. In the middle of the night of course.

Takes the slightest casual comment about a new craft/art that someone is doing as a challenge to do it bigger and better.

Nerdanel can’t sew for shit. Náro embroiders cute little details in the boys’ clothing.

Can’t paint or draw for shit. His sketches and plans for his work are incomprehensible and look like they were drawn by a toddler with Parkinson’s desease. Only the Valar know how the fuck he manages to create exquisite beauty out of that.

Handwriting is damn illegible. He can actually manage something presentable if necessary but he rarely gives enough fucks to do that.

Ambidextrous but instead of being proficient writing with both hands he can’t write with either.

One aspect I love about Finarfin

Different from his brothers he can admit that he’s not the best at something. I think that’s also what makes him a good king, he is able to pull himself back when necessary and assign the right people to the right tasks.

One aspect I wish more people understood about him

This is a little knit-picky but I want everyone to remember that he didn’t turn around because he saw his wife’s family get slaughtered. He turned around because he feared the doom spoken onto them. It’s not the actions that made him turn around, it’s the consequences (as you can see, I’m a strong advocate for all characters being allowed to be terrible people every now and then).

One headcanon I have about him

When he was younger, he hated his blonde hair because it made him feel like an outsider. All of this siblings have the same dark hair his father, it’s only him who has his mother’s hair. For a long time he thought that was what made everyone overlook him. He even used to cover up his hair with dark headscarves just to fit in with the rest of his family. It’s only after he notices that Indis always takes extra time to brush and braid his hair that he starts to like it. It’s his little special connection with his mother. After Finrod and Angrod are born, both with blonde hair, he adopts it as a sign of his House.

One hc that involves him and one other character

So, I headcanon Finarfin to be younger than Maedhros, not by a lot but by 3-4 years! They pretty much grew up together and used to play together a lot because there weren’t many children their age around them. This is also why it pains him the most when he hears that Maedhros and Maglor had killed the guards and stolen the Silmarils. He wanted to bring back his friend to Valinor with him and welcome him back into the family (Can I write one of these without angst? No :))

Hank was a bit confused by your accent. So he asked why talked so differently from everyone else.

You told him you were from another continent/country. He was quite interested to hear more about the world outside of Nevada.

This is a very weird headcanon of mine, but if Hank sees something that he finds extremely cute/cool, so much to the point that he can’t even be all scary, he temporarily forgets about his violent and murderous side and shakes in happiness admiring the amazing thing in front of his eyes, so when you showed him pictures of koalas, he wouldn’t get off the laptop for an hour.

Hank really wonders how wonderful it’d be to ditch Nevada, and relax his worries away with his love (which is of course you) by his side. But for now, he focuses on getting rid of agencies against him and his desire for murder.

Sanford:

Sanford has heard about Australia before. He thinks it’s a really nice place. As soon as he met you, he had so many questions.

“How many beaches are there?” “Do you see cute animals every day?” “What do you guys typically eat?”

He always loves listening to everything you have to say about Australia. Not only does he imagine the life outside of the hellhole known as Nevada, but he seems to be calmed by your voice, since it’s so different and soothing

If you encounter an animal that you’re afraid of. Sanford will either decimate it with his foot, or yeet it miles away. He later gives you a hug and tells you that everything is going to be okay and he won’t let any silly little animal harm you in any way.

Deimos:

Even tho Deimos is quite unintelligent, he has heard about Australia thanks to some memes.

He uses Australian slang a lot. When he’s using it towards you, he’s like “Oi what’s up beauty? Ya wanna pash” (pash means kiss in Australian slang). When it’s towards the others, he’s like, ”if ya don’t hand me the bloody ciggy right now, i’ll run ya over with a booze bus then send ya straight outta the bush.”

He thinks it’s awesome that there’s venomous animals in your country, because that means he has new ideas for weapons, or pranks (that would of course go too far, you had to tell him that).

He wants to move with you to Australia one day, and see a whole lot of new animals, people, plants, and basically, an entire new environment. Since there’s also a beach there, he wants to go (and maybe see you in a swimsuit 😳)

2BDamned knows a lot about the world outside of Nevada, so he definitely knows quite a lot about Australia.

When he realized you were Australian, you pretty much stole his heart. You were much different from literally everyone else in Nevada, and he seems to be stricken by you.

2BDamned sometimes practices using Australian slang around you and later, he does it to everyone. He enjoys the unique way you talk and using the stuff he learned is a lot of fun for him.

He has dreams about moving to Australia with you. He imagines how wonderful your family would be, how warm the climate would be, and how you two would get married later on.

- zakhar vasiliev, d&d club, arvo's childhood / family friend, them practically being like siblings, but also like arvo was this close to strangling him at any given time, asdfghjkl (friendship!) - tamara alekseyeva, science club, met in middle school when they were paired up for a science project which almost blew up the classroom. they, of course, got detention together. - veronika petrova, science club, yearbook club, fellow stressed overachiever and group mom-friend (bonding!)

-snorted the powder from caffeine pills in a attempt to stay awake for a test. -went to make coffee while half asleep and forgot to put the coffee mix in, drinking half of a cup of just hot water before he realized his mistake. -got rlly stressed one time while studying, and not being able to find his glasses made him almost burst into frustrated tears (they ended up just being on his head) -forgot to eat / drink anything other then one (1) singular muffin and like 646954 cups of coffee for like, a week and got confused when he almost passed the fuck out in class.

Both of them are protective of one another but in different ways, which minimizes their fights but also makes them both feel a little useless compared to the other.

Nolo learned to bake for Arvo, he heard Arvo complaining about how no one made his favorite cookies, the recipe got lost or something, and Nolo took the time to make them through trial and error. Then when Arvo got old enough they made them together regularly, it became their thing to do once a month.
