Does anyone else also have a default fandom or interest that you're just automatically returned to whenever you lose all your hyperfixations

the funniest thing wrong with me is that i'm so bad at picking up on social cues that bullying tactics only have a 10% success rate on me

Because me and @briefle are insane we've both written short fics in the disco hermits universe! Here are some rough drawings of a moment from each of them.
LINK TO BRIE'S AMAZING FIC in which Etho gets a surprise confrontation in the Whirling-in-rags
LINK TO MY SILLY FIC in which Etho does a very dumb thing about his hair in the middle of the night
for the people who read my fic i have a very stupid addendum for you that is. practically canon

cannot stop thinking about a romanced Lavellan being the default world state. it seems like no big deal at first until you realize that it’s the world state that all new players to the franchise will use. it is the world state they chose for people who are brand new to the world and its characters. it’s the world state they chose to get new people invested in the world. whatever happens in that world state isn’t just for us, who have been eagerly waiting, but is significant enough that they want every single brand new player to see it, to experience those scenes. i need to lay down

I hate when there's a queer ship, and people will fight tooth and nail with you because they insist that those characters are definitely not queer, even though there is no proof that they aren't. Their only "proof" is that they see straight as the default and can't imagine a character being queer without it being specifically stated, but have no problem assuming a character is straight even though it's never talked about. "Well, they only dated people of the opposite gender!" Okay? You know how many queer people have only dated people of the opposite gender? It doesn't mean they're not queer or that they would never date someone of the same gender. It's just all kinds of mental gymnastics to justify homophobia, let's be real here.

imagine people going to a sherlock holmes wikia, opening a list of character pages for every person who has ever appeared in a sherlock holmes story, picking characters at random and reading what they did in chronological order, and doing that until they've gone through every character. and then arguing that sherlock holmes is badly written and makes no sense and has twists and asspulls out of nowhere with their whole chest until that's the default understanding of the series to outsiders
that's what people have been doing to the evillious chronicles for 10 years
(intermingled with people Also throwing in random misinformation from google translate and japanese to chinese to spanish to english translations, at a 15 year game of telephone in the youtube comments section)
we've had all of the novels translated in english by hand for free for years at this point [Link 1, Link 2]
