i dont know how relatable this is but it is so difficult working on a big project (like months and months type of big) without anyone else being able to really see it and give feedback

like for this particular project im half doing it to myself cus i want it to be a surprise but the other half is that i couldnt show it to people even if i wanted to

and so i have to just hope its as good as i think it is ? but im constantly like "this sucks you suck at this why did you do it like that redo the whole thing whats wrong with you"

the mental fortitude i need to finish this project is insane sometimes

My skin is extremely sensitive to adhesive (idk if it's necessarily an allergic reaction, but I tend to have welts for a couple of days after I've taken off a bandaid).

Either way, I have to wear a heart monitor for thirty days and it's attached to an adhesive piece that has to be replaced every week or so. But like, this is only the third day and it's itching SO BAD. And idk what to do about it. There's a number I can call, but I don't think that there is a "No adhesive" way to go about this.

Longlegs really set itself up to be so much better than it actually was. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. I went in pretty blind but the story completely lost me mid way through the 2nd act. The acting and cinematography were great. And it kept the tension well! But all of that can’t make up for the story, imo. We could have had it all Longlegs.

Tamlin Week 2024, Day 4: (a belated) Happily Ever After

This was inspired by the meadow scene in Studio Ghibli's "Howl's Moving Castle", hence the Ghibli-esque illustration style I went for here.

Many pro-Tamlin fans prefer to think of ACOTAR as a standalone book, and I am no exception. So my contribution to the "Happily Ever After" theme is them walking off into the sunset at the end of book 1. I hope you like it.

Why did I just randomly get obsessed with The Henry Stickmin Collection in a single day. What the fuck happened

Hate it when Pokémon character designers go all out for a disguise scene but they don’t do anything to cover up the very obvious lightning bolt shaped stripes under Ash’s eyes. That’s the most obvious feature of his that isn’t an article of clothing like a hat or jacket. He’s the guy with the weird stripes under his eyes.

I know there’s a popular theory that the stripes aren’t really part of his body and it’s just stylized dirt/blush/generic youthful features because that’s supposedly a popular design trend in Japanese art, but even if they used to be, they clearly aren’t anymore. They’re the only thing that’s stayed relatively consistent with all the different iterations of him. He’s the only modern character with those markings and we’ve seen dirt, blush and youthful characters in the anime. Not one character outside of some Indigo League one-off randos have those stripe markings. It’s just him.

Besides…

when James dresses up as Ash, he draws the stripes on with makeup, so the stripes are obviously not stylized dirt or blush like everyone says they are. They’re a part of his face and he just looks like that. If Ash were a real person made of flesh, he would have those marks under his eyes.

That being said, if I were in disguise and I had a very weird and very obvious birthmark, I’d do everything in my power to cover it up or hide it. Pokémon has never actually called attention to the weird markings under his eyes (at least to my knowledge) but it would be cool to at least see some sort of reference to the fact that one of the lead characters has a weird fucking anime bullshit birthmark. It doesn’t make any sense that they’d go out of their way to buy new outfits and wigs for disguises but not makeup to hide his eye stripes.

If not with some sort of concealer, then just put a scarf on him or something. Give him a bandanna or a face mask or literally anything else that covers up the marks under his eyes. Otherwise, the gig is up the minute someone makes eye contact with Ash and thinks “Wait a minute, didn’t that other guy from before have the exact same weird birthmarks?”.
