SPEAKING OF MARRIAGE. have you ever drawn them at their wedding recently? what would their dresses look like.. what would be their song.. who would be invited.. would it be huge or lowkey.. would anything go wrong or would it go off without a hitch.. inquiring minds want to know!

I sadly haven't drawn them in their matching wedding dresses recently 😭 I think the last time I did was this Encanto Redraw

I really need to update them though especially since I had wedding lore for Lore itself more fleshed out.

AS FOR THEIR WEDDING SONG...maaan I really need to put time aside to specifically put together their actual wedding playlist. There are both SO MANY choices for them yet none because all the songs I have picked for them are too fast pace for a more traditional wedding vibes...I DID cheat a little while answering this ask and look up a list of good R&B songs to play at weddings and found out Jamie Foxx and Beyonce's duet "When I First Saw You" is a REALLY good fit for these two.

When it comes to guests, they would def invite all their close friends (so everyone in Briar Patch basically). Pinokuni is def Jack's best man with Kai being one of his groomsmen while Ashe is for sure one of Nana's bridesmaids along with Xia being a bridesmate.

I see Jack and Nana getting married as the cliche fairytale ending for Beanstalked so Jack SOMEHOW accidentally invites all the cool folks they met throughout their journey together. He'd do it in the "I wanna be nice just so no one feels personally excluded because all these guys were really nice and helped us save the world" and not really expect anyone to truly show up save for 3 or 4 people...

...and then Jack and Nana find out "Oh everyone we sent an invite to actually showed up and now we actually have to figure out how to seat 50+ people in one location"

So it started off initially planned to be lowkey only for it to become VERY highkey at the last second.

It isn't much of a problem though because the spot they have their wedding is outside. SPECIFICALLY at Nana's dad's final resting place..which sounds wild BUT LEMME EXPLAIN--

When he died, he purposely made sure he was in his big ass wolf form so that he wouldn't be hauled off by hunters and taken from his family. So there is a giant wolf skeleton that is located in the Lupine Forest that is kind of one with nature now so it's covered in greenery. It's a little unsettling to those unaware of the lore behind it while also still being serene. Nana goes there often when things get too hard so she can talk to her dad.

She wanted to have her wedding there so she could make sure her dad was present. And Jack was more than willing to oblige her.

Miraculously, even with the giant guest list, everything goes off without a too much of a hitch. I wouldn't say entirely smoothly since that's a lot of people and there's some shenanigans afoot especially at the wedding reception since that's when everyone parties.

BUT it's a very fun experience for them both, even for Nana who is the #1 antisocial of the village.

The couple did take a very well deserved honeymoon in a much quieter place afterwards though. Poor things had to recharge and fully process they were husband and wife now.

Hey, so after reading Shadow and the Beanstalk, I noticed a few details that I was curious about:

a) Robotnik giving the beans to Shadow (did Robotnik know they were magic, does he know about Sonic, is he planning something?)

b) “And last time I had visitors, they often said they needed alcohol for their injuries.” Are these “visitors” significant characters?

c) Where does Sonic get his food?

d) What is Sonic’s past, what’s Shadow’s past, and what’s in the giant book? (I’m 98% sure you’re going to reveal this later on, but it’s worth mentioning)

You don’t have to answer the questions in this ask. I just want to know if we’ll learn more about these things later on!

I have generally been tinkering with each idea I’ve had since stating them in the fic, so I’ll keep these very brief and as free of spoilers as I can.

A) No, Eggman had zero idea that the beans were magic. He has heard the stories of giants, just like everyone else has. But he thinks it’s all stupid fiction.

B) Not entirely. They are existing characetrs in cannon, obviously. I have an idea that you would see one of them at some point.

C) Your guess is as good as mine :)

D) The book is fiction. Like King Arthur.

What are some characters that the fandom dislikes that you like and why?

Or what characters do you think have more depth than the fandom portrays?

I don’t think I have many unconventional favorites. Everyone has a fan at this stage in fandom. I watched the show while it aired but joined fandom late so I’m not sure who is the most controversial ones I’m not techinally supposed to hate are.

The best answer I can give is Ramona. I know that a lot of people love her now but I still remember the denial stage in the beginning because a lot of fans found her redundant and a waste as the series was about dead. I still can’t get over the fan theory that Ramona is a hallucination.

Reasons include:

She looks badass. (Also her voice sounds cool. I can barely believe she shared the same VA as Maddie)

She was of the few girl characters that wore jeans.

Sibling representation that didn’t feel cheesy. (I am aware that relationships like the O’hairs can exist, I’m just not used to that. And Darling and Dexter where a nice middle ground in the books but Ramona is sadly show-only)

Her no-nonsense attitude. Her monologue on moonlight mystery was exciting because it was an active example of a character using their head. Which I don’t remember happening that often. Stuff just happens and the title character just goes with it. Also, just making sure Justine didn’t hurt herself while sleep dancing? Aww. Mention of alternate locations other than ever after high. (Dark forest reform school).

The runner up to this would be Sparrow. I have very little cannon basis for this. I mean, he was made more interesting in the books (the only one I actively remember is next top villain and he existed for like 10 pages) but my main reason for liking him was a fanfic. I have no idea where the Apple/Sparrow pairing came from (probably the main trilogy and I forgot) but this story is really sweet from what I remember. Be advised, the catalyst is pregnancy.

To answer the second question:

Jillian? Because it seems that she’s one of the few characters that actually has a story that ends. She doesn't seem to revert back to square one when her story would start. She is definitely keeping it up because it’s fun to do. It also helps that Tiny is supportive. I imagine the beanstalk family and the giant's made an agreement between themselves about how the destiny was to play out.

Do you ever think about how Chil is 110 cm while the average is 100? Which would be the equivalent to a 198cm tall-man (average is 180 and there is a 10% increase so add 18 and there you have it). My man is undernourished and tall as fuck. A bonsai beanstalk....

I’m sure you’ve been asked, sorry if you have, but what’s the little lines on Jack’s cheeks in older designs? Art style thing, or like the equivalent to blush lines just permanent? Sorry if this seems rude I’m just genuinely curious ;w;

This isn't rude at all because I love talking about Jack so much (y'all will never truly understand how much I will never get sick of talking about this lad)

SO back when I first started Beanstalked, I would give him these dirt smudges on his cheeks since he tend to do a lot of stuff on the farm so sometimes he'd get smudges on him

But when I would draw him on paper, I would shorthand the smudges with hashtag lines since I used to always sketch stuff in pen. So I just carried that over to digital since it was also a time saver when working on pages.

And eventually they stopped being dirt smudges and just shifted over to being protagonist cheek markings like Ash and Naruto have since Jack is basically a dumping ground for my favorite protagonist tropes.

Over the years though, I realized "Jack actually looks really cute with freckles and stuff on his face...too bad I can't change it" only to remember I am god of my world and I actually can change things.

RED RED RED ok one I've written into a fic is that she's super dyslexic and can't really read all that well (but frostleaf and kal'tsit are helping and she's learning!) and one I haven't is that her circadian rhythm is absolutely garbage and she rarely ends up sleeping more than 2-3 hours at a time?? but she makes up for that with frequent naps so if you happen to hear an air vent snoring don't worry she's probably curled up inside her coat in there
