anyways this is tumblr and I actually do live in the wild west of America. I WILL talk about my protocreed au

So, to start off, Alex sees Desmond and Elijah while he's grabbing something at the university of New York in Manhattan, and actually catches a glimpse of Desmond eating a glass plate and a metal cup. He's so fucking confused and fascinated that he starts stalking him out of a scientific desire to study him.

Why is Desmond eating glass and metal you may ask? He is a piece of eden and his body needs nutrients in order to sustain itself. More specifically, he's three apples. Altaïr's apple was his 'body' which is why he looks so much like him, Ezio's apple was the 'voice' that allows him to properly speak to people through time, Connor and Aveline had the 'brain' apple which allows them to directly configure and control his abilities and memory.

Yes, Aveline and Connor get married in this AU. It should've happened in canon, and just bc ubi decided to drop their storyline, it doesn't mean I have to.

So, back on track, Elijah and Desmond are traveling together bc Desmond was absolutely ecstatic to learn he was having a child, and they decided to go to Manhattan after the 'Daniel incident' in Vermont. Alex manages to track Desmond down after two months working at Bad Weather and decides to just. Watch him.

And also get into a shit ton of bar fights, bc you can't tell me that Alex wasn't using his fighting moves in game before everything happened, you can't.

Most of the other employees that work at Bad Weather don't want to deal with Alex because, as previously stated he gets into a lot a bar fights and actually manages to win them, and Desmond is a good enough fighter that he can handle him. The interesting part is that Alex never tries to involve Desmond in his fights but he does let him pull him off people without attacking, like he would attack other bartenders, so they just let Desmond handle him.

Desmond is...conflicted on Alex bc on one hand, the man is stalking him and is persistent about it too, but also doesn't run away screaming when he realizes that Alex has seen him eating food that shouldn't be consumable by humans and will break a bunch of shit so people don't realize why so many dishes go missing in a week. But on the other hand, Alex is quite open about wanting to pin him to a lab table and seeing what makes him tick, which is fucking creepy. But he also??? Fights off any Abstergo agents when they're watching him in the bar (and later on he discreetly kills them) so its a really fucking mixed bag for Desmond.

This is kinda long. I'll stop here, but like I wanted there to be a reason Alex is so interested in Desmond before and after his death and rebirth, and I kinda wanted to lean into the fact that Dr. Mercer was absolutely a freak.

SO, HELLO HELLO.

This is finally finished, dear gods.

It was a full immersion into this, both yesterday and today, but trust me, i needed something that could help me isolate the brain (for personal reasons that i won't disclose) from my own thoughts and hyperfocus into something thay could bring me happiness.

And while listening to my playlist yesterday, while i was working on another wip, "Rewrite the Stars" came up, and initiates a whole process crickets that just needed to be sedate again.

That song is such a Jacob and Dottie song, it couldn't be more appropriate if i were to write it myself.

So here you have the result of the my dive into this artwork, which, i have to be honest, I LOVED working on, from beginning to end. I am finding always new techniques while working on my pieces, and i am actually so happy with the result! I also had a little fun designing Dottie's costume, incorporating her signatures colours and her symbol, the star.

For comparison, because i was so happy with how the whole shading came out, i will also include the one without the whole ambience light and whatnot!

Hc: even post big assassin apocalypse thing in 200 the assassin's did not fuckin with poor ppl/j, fr tho even if they don't have any cash they still spare no expenses when it comes to gear. If there was a Ghosts reboot today, what do you think would be changed? Obviously there would be graphics/programming improvements; I’m thinking more about keeping Logan as a silent protagonist/more sympathetic Federation/rewriting history/etc.

I agree with you that they'd do graphical improvements and that, but I'm not exactly sure what they would do. I have more ideas for what would be fun for them to do, which range from what I consider fairly realistic to ridiculous.

This is going to get long. "Read More" of mercy upon ye.

Like, I think it would be cool if they added more moments to use Riley. We got so few missions with the boy! I'd love to see more of him. In combat or even on a tracking mission or similar. And I really enjoyed the mechanic of being able to sic him on people.

Along those lines, I think it would be interesting if you could also command the human Ai. Not quite giving orders because you (As Logan) aren't in charge, but just having them cooperate with you like the team you are. "Enemies over there!" kinda thing, so you can guide their attention towards areas you wanna push. Would make playing on harder difficulties not only easier but more satisfying IMO.

More emphasis on the STEALTH part of the Ghosts would also be nice. It does get shown in the game, like during "End of the Line" and especially during "The Hunted" but at some point you always go loud. A mission where you go in and get out without anyone knowing you were there would be awesome.

On the topic of stealth, a mechanic similar to the Assassins creed games where the Enemy Ai slowly catch on that you're there and THEN attack if you suck at sneaking would be interesting. But I wouldn't like it as much if they relaxed entirely and gave the all clear (after a full alert) just because Logan hid in a patch of grass for five seconds. (Or a closet.)

Maybe a dumb idea that wouldn't be executed well but a wave mode which takes place in the hospital Sand Viper took place in (So it's like you're one of the Proto-Ghosts.) where you just fight to see how long you can go would be fun. Extinction still being there would be sick too, just add the wave mode and don't replace the prior.

Story wise, because I've been speaking more mechanics/gameplay shit, I'd enjoy more sibling moments between Logan and Hesh. The moment in the start of Brave New World where Hesh lets Logan sleep in is CRUMBS and I want/need more of that. Aside from them cooperating in field I want to see Hesh worry about Logan and the same in reverse. Have them check on each other. Have them attached at the hip. Have both of them ready to ride or die!

Along the same lines (Again.) more dad moments from Elias. The reason I want this is rather evil... I want him to be so likable it genuinely breaks peoples hearts and traumatizes them when he dies. It hurts already because I get attached to pixels easily but like. I haven't cried. Make me cry.

An actual funeral scene for Elias that isn't Hesh narrating over a dramatic visual please. I love Hesh's tendency for dramatic narration (Which he got from Elias) but I have a limit. Even if it's also a cut scene and not entirely intractable, I think it'd add some more oomph to the clear drama/angst they wanted from Elias's death.

Make Rorke's intelligence more obvious. I feel like it's a part of him that gets missed because people tend to focus on his cruelness and strength but his intelligence is what makes him a real threat. Through the game he is constantly a step ahead, which is obvious in some pats, but less so in others. (Obvious: Federation Day. Less obvious: Birds of Prey/The Hunted. Non obvious: Into the Deep. In all those missions he knew the Ghosts were going to be there and had contingencies. The only time the Ghosts get ahead of Rorke is when Logan and Hesh storm the train. Which I thinks speaks to their skill and his unfamiliarity with them.)

Following the above, I think it'd be neat to have Logan match Rorke in intellect. The sneaky crafty kind of intelligence that'll get you like a knife in the back. Would also be a good way to make said intelligence obvious, if Logan is the one to point it out. The reason he even knows it's there is because he recognizes it. It's familiar.

Give Logan some speaking lines. It's fine if he's still a majority quiet and prefers to let Hesh be his voice but just a few... Let the guy have some agency. And you do have to admit the era of silent COD protagonists is being phased out or is over. A relic from a bygone era...

More of Hesh being a fucking menace, please. Please please please. Begging on my knees. Him going "Checkmate" was the coldest shit ever, and he SCARED/SURPRISED Rorke doing that. I need more of it. (Another example: He just smacks the shit out of a Fed in the Luxor WITH A GUN rather than using it to shoot the guy. Menace behavior.)

Give Logan the ability to use his throwing knife skills more. He does it ONCE in Federation Day and that shit was so clean. MORE.

I actually really enjoy the black/white animated cut scenes between ops more than the ones in (for example) the Modern Warfare games where it's mostly satellite images. They did some pretty cool transitions a few times. Even if Hesh or Elias's narrating annoyed the shit out of me.

GIVE LOGAN A RORKE FILE. Hesh and Elias and MERRICK get one but not my boy??? LET HIM COOK! (I have a soft spot for the Rorke Files, I just think they're neat.)

Make Rorke and Elias gay for each other. Divorced. Toxi old man yaoi in my COD game? Sign me up. (This is the "Ridiculous" end of the ideas spectrum.) I don't care if it's only implied, I'll take ONE line where Elias admits that he and Rorke were closer than a Captain and Lieutenant should be and that's all I need.

Keegan and Ajax also Gae Confirmed please and thank you. I just... I need it. Also don't kill Ajax. I like him and if they do the Confirmed Gae it'd be another case of "Burying Your Gays" and I don't need that. Coma or smthn but no death.

More POC characters. Ajax is the ONE black guy and they kill him. Like are you kidding? Fucking hell. I hc the Walker boys as mixed White/Hispanic, I hc Keegan as Pakistani, Neptune as Korean/American, like c'mon I'm fighting for my life over here. Give me a fucking hand. Jesus.

Make the Ghosts scary. Gimme a mission from the enemies POV (Weather the player knows it or not) where you're just getting hunted in some Insidious-esque bullshit the whole time. Put the "Stalker" back in Ghosts. (Because their official name is STALKER)

How many works do you have on AO3? I have 62 total works, and I am so disappointed in a lot of them 😅

What's your total AO3 word count? 339,839 words!

What fandoms do you write for? Lately I've been working a lot on fics with AC: Odyssey, Monsterverse, and VicTORIous. However, I did recently do a fic for Mean Girls (2024) and I used to write a lot for BNHA/MHA, when I was very big on that fandom, but all those fics are really bad and cringe so I try to pretend they don't exist. I also have some batfamily fics, and a few for Dynasty. A few oneshots here and there with that fic being my only work in the fandom. And how could I forget, Horizon!

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Confidence - What a Hero Needs - this annoys me so much, it was my first fic, EVER. I wrote it 4 years ago, and it's still my most popular, I've written much better stuff. I've even REWRITTEN THIS ONE AND THE OG IS STILL MORE POPULARR GKHDGHJHWJHK Apects Unknown - or are they? - a fun batfamily and wonderbat based fic off of my own mini-universe. Very cute, and very proud of this fic Perseverance - What a Hero Needs - the immediate follow up to Confidence. Again, I've written a lot better stuff "What? I like hero merch!" - My favorite crack fic I've written. Also BNHA/MHA based, but this was just fun and cute Among (Us) the Villains - yet another BNHA/MHA fic, but this time it's based about Izuku being friends with the LoV. And gaming with them. Made around the time of Among Us, hence the title

Do you respond to comments? I try, especially once I post something new. But honestly, a lot of my responses end up being just hearts or "thank you's" and it personally makes me feel like I'm being disingenuine when i respond with them too much

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I suppose Kumandra's Heart? But that was more sad than angst, I think?

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Pretty Girls, my Mean Girls (2024) fic!!!! I love this one so much, it's one of the few I go back and reread often! Basically a rewrite of the movie to be a lot gayer.

Do you get hate on fics? Oh yeah, there was this one marvel fic I did, and this one commenter was really mad that I wasn't going exactly as canon dictated. Because of course

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have a few fics with smut, and it's mainly kink-based. Definitely love involved too, but very kink-based.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Yes! I enjoy it a lot! My craziest one would probably have to be the one I'm currently writing, combining the Assassin's Creed universe and Legendary's Monsterverse. It's called Ancients Risen Anew, and based on Kassandra joining MONARCH after the G-Day event in 2014!

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge! I made all my fics available only to registered users for the purpose of keeping them as safe as I can while still sharing them.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope! Would love to see it happen though!

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope! It sounds interesting to do though!

What's your all time favorite ship? I would have to say Jade West/Tori Vega. The good old classic gay couple from Nickelodeon, as much as we hate how that era of TV was behind the scenes. A close second would probably be Aloy/Seyka, from Horizon. I just love them so much, they're my little blorbos (i think i used that term right :D)

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I have a few, but I'll talk about Cascade for now. It's the marvel fic I mentioned earlier, and I kinda lost all interest in marvel recently. The last media I saw was The Marvels, and I enjoyed it a lot, but I kinda got oversaturated with too much Marvel stuff, and not enough of it was as amazing like Shang-Chi was to make me wanna stay interested. Will definitely watch the stuff I'm interested in though (anything with Kate Bishop and Yelena)

What are your writing strengths? Hmmmm, tough one. I would say lore. I love writing lore and explaining lore. I am also very good at writing outlines.

What are your writing weaknesses? Fight scenes. Especially fast paced ones. I love the choreography in movies, but how am I supposed to translate the fast-paced combat into writing in a way that feels natural????

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I have done this for a short story! Please go check it out, its non-fandom related so it didn't get traction, but oh my god i did so much research for it and I love it. It's called Children of Níðhǫggr!

First fandom you wrote for? Boku no Hero Academia / My Hero Academia. Please, end me

Favorite fic you've written? How the fuck am I supposed to choose just one?!??!?! I'll limit myself to five, to keep this short, lol Ink & Sparks - which is my favorite Jade West/Tori Vega fic. I rewrote it several times, and the version linked is the best one I've done. Please check it out, I love it so much! There's More To Life Than Surviving! - Honestly, this one is a contender for top fic. A crack fic, but for Ninjago! Loved it a lot The Titan of the Pearl - A very nice fic I wrote combining the Pirates of the Caribbean and Godzilla. I just wanted to say something about the protocreed au:

The reader is Desmond, Desmond is the reader. He just needed to run 26 permutations to get to that phase. Afterwards, he still would've been able to view and change the past/present/future at any time in his regular body while his consciousness (and Clay) remain in the Grey.

But Abstergo just had to go and fuck things up for ya boi😮‍💨 yet again

Alex does help out, but he had to leave when Desmond activated the Eye, due to all the intense heat and phosphorus adamantium that was literally deconstructing him on a molecular level.

Also, to get back to Elijah to make sure neither the assassins or Templars get their hands on him, bc he'll be damned if he let's Bill get his grubby little hands on him.

YWHS TY Oke I Just wanted to ask this: after finishing reading the post about the family tree of all the characters I'm amazed💖💖 your creativity is simply Amazing!!!, I wonder how long have you been writing this crossover universe or in any case, how long has it existed??? Because its so detailed and well crafted

Thank you very much as always! 💗☺️ (Sorry to keep repeating it, because I have no other words. 🤣) I'll try to explain it as best I can.

I remade Crossverse recently last year and I'm still wondering what I'm going to do with it next. It always changed for several years.

Well, to tell the truth, I made my Crossverse since childhood! It looked completely different, before there were other franchises that I liked before, but later I cut them away because I grew out of them or they didn't fit there for me anymore.

Warcraft, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, OFF and Assassin's Creed are the only franchises that have grown to my heart the most and have been gradually added to the Crossverse after several years. In this version of Crossverse, I studied their lores in more detail, expanding the world building of Thansuokria and still holding their magic there.

I also wrote a fanfic about TaE Family and their journey through Havaykia, which has about 90,000 words, but it is now discontinued because the plot was not good at all (I wrote this in 2015 - 2020 and I was a stupid teen/young adult at that time). Originally there was only the island of Havaykia, the other islands did not exist or were indirectly mentioned/unknown. The characters there were only my OCs and a few canon characters like Altaïr and Maiev. And I'll admit that the world building wasn't explored enough. But I plan to rewrite it one day now with current Crossverse. :3

Have you ever read the Vox Populi series on AO3 by Aelwyn? (The author lets other writer's use the original characters they created in this series for their own assassin's creed fics, so long as give the Aelwyn credit in the A/N's.)

I find Desmond relationship dynamic with Charlie in this series very interesting. Their relationship gives me queer platonic life partners (QPR)/platonic soulmate vibes. It wouldn't surprise me if people mistake Charlie and Desmond close friendship for a romantic relationship.

So now I can't help but wonder if their friendship could of turned into a romantic relationship in a universe where event's played out differently. How to you think events of assassin's creed would have play out in a world where Desmond had someone to care about and lean on before he got taken by Abstergo?

How would Charlie's and Desmond's ancestors react to their descendents being in a romantic relationship together? (Maybe this AU happens in a world similar to the Visitorverse series by Riona, Salanaland and VampireBadger?)

Here’s the Vox Populi series by Aelwyn. It should be noted that all works are only visible to logged in AO3 users. 

I have read Vox Populi but I haven’t caught up yet because of, well, stuff. But I do remember Charlie (mainly because his ancestor is based on the Prince from Prince of Persia and because he was the one who saved Desmond). 

Here’s Visitorverse by Riona, salanaland, and VampireBadger and you said similar so I’m going to assume we’re not making a crossover between the two series.

For this one, you mentioned that you’re wondering what a world where Desmond had someone before everything happened with Abstergo would be like so this meant that he started his relationship with Charlie before he came into Abstergo’s radar.

Now, we can go two ways with this:

Route One: Abstergo doesn’t really care about their employees and Charlie and Desmond’s relationship was kept ‘a secret’ until Abstergo started checking Desmond Miles’ background. In this setup, Charlie would be put in the ‘Might not be an Assassin but must be cautious about’ pile and he’d most probably won’t be part of the recovery team to be sent to the Grand Temple. This has the highest chance of a bad end because Desmond lived in Vox Populi’s ‘verse because of Charlie. Without him, we’ll end up in Black Flag territory with Charlie being torn with thinking that Desmond left him or Desmond is really missing. 

The other route would be:

Abstegro most probably had a regular employee check up and it’s not the annual medical one. This one is more invasive and secretive as they’re doing background checks on people who are close or becoming close to their employees. Depending on how paranoid they are, this could go as far as checking the people close to those close to their employees. Regardless of how paranoid we’re making Abstergo is, Desmond will enter their database the moment he and Charlie start to go steady.

From there, Desmond’s kidnapping is inevitable and this route will converge with the ending of the first route.

That’s where a setup similar to the Visitorverse would come into play.

For this one, we’ll keep it simple. Desmond’s visitors are his Bleeds (including Haytham). If you wish to add more, go ahead but, if you do, you risk the chance of muddling the central plot which is either rewriting Desmond’s storyline or Desmond and Charlie’s relationship.

Anyway, Desmond’s visitors would be the reason why he didn’t die. Maybe, in this setup, those who visits him will have certain POEs or be in certain locations the same time they’re visiting Desmond as he activates the device. Their connection is what saves Desmond and he lives (up to you if Desmond loses his visitors in the process or not). 

In this one, either we let Desmond leave the Grand Temple unscathed or we go for the opening of Vox Populi and Abstergo’s Recovery Team finds him, only to be surprised when he ‘wakes’ up and they take him to an Abstergo facility of your choosing. This is where the route can get very close to Vox Populi as Desmond can go to Sofia Rikkin’s facility and the only one missing is Charlie in that setup. If you don’t want to go down that route, Philadelphia facility is still up and running during that time and Dr Sung could be the one in charge of Desmond’s Animus session (this route will also give a chance for Desmond to save Dr Sung although their relationship would be rocky since he did kill Daniel Cross).  

Regardless, Desmond escapes the facility sooner or later and we can go down two routes once more:

Route 1: Desmond either thinks Charlie knew about him or not (or Abstergo had briefed him about Desmond). Either way, Desmond doesn’t contact Charlie for both of their safety. This could be the (downer) ending or Charlie would start looking for Desmond, asking the hard questions that leads him in hot waters. In this one, Charlie would be contacted by the Assassins who would tell him Desmond is dead and he becomes an Assassin to ‘avenge’ Desmond (while Desmond does his own thing).

Route 2: Abstergo kidnaps Charlie and uses him as bait for Desmond. Desmond saves him but he wasn’t fast enough.

In both routes, Charlie starts his Animus sessions (voluntarily in route 1, forced in route 2) and he’s already suffering from the Bleeding Effect by the time Desmond saved him.

And from there, you can have hurt/comfort and maybe fluff if you want to go down that route.

(If you removed the visitors earlier, this is the part where they returned and Charlie gets visited by his ancestors as well as something triggered when Desmond and Charlie reunited, either through an unknown POE that Desmond stole while he was saving Charlie or the power of love, take your pick. From there, we can get Altaïr and Malik being teased because of their descendants while they just take it in strides as they’re at that point in their life that they’ve become close friends. Desmond would be a little shit and call Malik ‘uncle’ but Charlie is a bit intimidated by Altaïr… in the beginning anyway)

What fandoms do you write for? Well, I've become rather singularly obsessed with Star Wars: The Clone Wars right now, but I do also write for Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

What are your top five fics by kudos? Don't Dream It's Over - 60 The Last Resort of Good Men - 39 Thunder - 8 This Is The Beginning - 4

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do! I'd respond more if my reaction wasn't just, "AAAAAAHHHH THANK YOU FOR READING MY SILLY LITTLE STORY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!"

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Not finished yet, but the angst is-a coming for This Is The Beginning, as it is basically my interpretation of the Legacy of the First Blade DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is rife in angst.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? The Last Resort of Good Men. Ends with Dorian Pavus and my warrior/mage combo human Inquisitor getting together. I haven't actually read it in years, so I might end up going back and rewriting it if I find it to be not as good as I remember.

Do you get hate on fics? Not as far as I'm aware.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yep. Mostly romantic smut, but some of the stories that are stuck in the WIP folder have been a little... deranged.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I have written crossovers in the past, but the fandoms would kind of work together anyway? I did start writing a crossover between Doctor Who and Downton Abbey, many many years ago, but never finished it because my favourite Who characters never appeared on screen again despite there being infinite potential to bring them into the fold again.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? No, but I fear it, especially with how sophisticated AI is bound to get before too long.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Not as far as I'm aware.

Have you ever cowritten a fic before? I was about to say no, but then I remembered way back in the day, before I discovered AO3 and was uploading primarily on fanfiction.net, I did kind of co-write a Sonic the Hedgehog story with my oldest Internet friend. Unfortunately, I haven't heard from them for years, and all their social media shows their last post as being from 2019, so I have no idea if they're even still alive? But I would really like to rewrite the story we started together all those years ago, now that I've improved.

What's your all-time favourite ship? Oh, God, are we really doing this? I have way too many to choose just one! But, if you have to force my hand, I'd have to say Ezio Auditore/Sofia Sartor (Assassin's Creed Revelations). I just love their dynamic and how their relationship develops, especially in the novelisation of the game.

What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will? *places a finger on your lips* Shh, they're all being finished!!

What are your writing strengths? Witty one-liners. If there's one thing us Brits are known for, it's our cracking sarcasm. Plus most of my formative years when it comes to my development of my writing abilities occurred during peak Downton Abbey era, with the incredible Dowager Countess of Grantham (portrayed by the one and only Dame Maggie Smith).

What are your writing weaknesses? Hmm... I'd have to say knowing when to break up a chapter. I can go on and on and on if you're willing to let me, but even I would struggle to read a 20-25k-word chapter in one go.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Well, I've been including bits of Mando'a in Don't Dream It's Over, but that's with the Mando'a dictionary open in one tab and a Mando'a translator in another.

First fandom you wrote for? Er, that would either be Harry Potter or The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Favourite fic you've ever written? At the moment, Don't Dream It's Over! I pretty much have the entire story planned out already in my notes app on my phone, which I just reference from when I need to remind myself what's coming up next in the chapter I'm writing at the time.
