galatea, the beloved (asteroid 74)
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, Polyphemus, the Cyclops from the journey of Odysseus, fell in love. Galatea was a lovely Nereid who was in love with Acis (whose story I previously told). Polyphemus learned of this when he saw the two together thusly crushed Acis with a boulder and breaking the heart of Galatea. IN MY OPINION, with this version in mind, Galatea could represent a) the types of lovers you attract, b) how those that love you tend to become jealous, and/or c) the terrible things that happen to those you love.
In another version, a sculptor named Pygmalion makes an ivory statue showcasing what he believes to be the ideal of womanhood and names it Galatea. He becomes so enamored by Galatea that he falls in love with her. Venus was enchanted by this and brought the statue of Galatea to life in answer to Pygmalion's prayers. The two then had a child named Paphos together. IN MY OPINION, with this version in mind, Galatea could represent a) beauty/attractiveness, b) what makes you someone's ideal, c) who you can enchant with you looks, d) where your love story attracts a lot of attention, and/or e) where people tend to be extremely hopeful of having you in their lives.
Tumblr media
i encourage you to look into the aspects of galatea along with the sign, degree, and house placement. for the more advanced astrologers, take a look at the persona chart of galatea AND/OR add the other characters involved to see how they support or impede galatea!
OTHER RELATED ASTEROIDS/PLANETS: aci (6522), ovidius (2800), VENUS, and pygmalion (96189)!

Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 51
The Eighth Doctor can play multiple instruments, one of which is the violin. (Novel: The Year of the Intelligent Tigers)
The Master tried to use Kamelion's remaining connection to the TARDIS to prevent the Fifth Doctor’s regeneration. (Audio: Winter)
A version of the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn got imprisoned in 1903. The parallel Sixth lost Evelyn, his mind, both of his legs, and after a century, his life. (Audio: Jubilee)
The TARDIS has a Hostile Owner Destruction System, which will destroy the TARDIS and anyone inside of it. (Audio: Island of the Fendahl)
Nyssa is still able to point out where Traken is in the sky from Earth. (Audio: Autumn) The light from its destruction must not have reached Earth yet, so she can see it while there but never return.
Fegax was a student at the Prydonian Academy who tried to use a time drill to protest against the elite, but his time drill did not work. The Fifth Doctor - who was Lord President at the time - fixed it for him and returned it, and Fegax used it to flood the whole Academy. (Audio: Time in Office)
Types of regeneration include the Blur, the Disciplinary, the Explosion (subtype: the Slow Explosion, the Reverse Explosion), the Morph, the Swirl, the White Light, and the Memory Vortex. (Novel: How to be a Time Lord)
The Eighth Doctor was taken over by the Fendahl once. While taken over, Lucie said he glowed. (Audio: Island of the Fendahl)
Anya Kingdom, who traveled with the Tenth Doctor and posed as Ann Kelso in the 1970s for a while, is the niece of Sara Kingdom. (Audio: The House of Kingdom)
The Eighth Doctor has been known to occasionally sing while piloting the TARDIS. (Audio: The Dalek Trap)
As mentioned in other parts, the Forge was an intelligence agency that often experimented with enhanced or alien life. While many of them were obsessed with Lazarus - the project about the Doctor - one Forge member was much more interested in Project: Wildthyme, which was about Iris Wildthyme. She decided to end it by giving them her blood, which damaged their Oracle system and destroyed one of their bases. (Short story: Project: Wildthyme)
In the Psychodrome, memories and nightmares were brought back to life. The twisted way Nyssa perceived the Doctor at first blended with her thoughts on the Master melded the two together to create King Magus. (Audio: Psychodrome)
Galah attended the Academy with the Doctor, but they were never close to each other due to differences in opinion. She was a sculptor, but one day, she landed her TARDIS on an asteroid and created a dreamscape by hooking herself up to her TARDIS's protyon unit. (Novel: Strange England)
Temporal energy smells like roses to time sensitives. (Short story: Ring Theory)
There was a moment in The Waters of Amsterdam (which takes place immediately after Arc of Infinity) where the Fifth Doctor seemingly left Nyssa and Tegan behind, but he rematerialized seconds later. While it was only seconds for Nyssa and Tegan, the Doctor did: Omega, The Burning Prince, Time Crash, The Gates of Hell, Fallen Angels, Empire of the Racnoss (in which he took on a new companion we never learn what happened to), The Lady of the Lake, A Requiem for the Doctor, My Dinner with Andrew, The Furies, Relative Time, and Collision Course. Considering we don't know what happened to Alayna, his new Gallifreyan companion, this is an incredibly incomplete list of his adventures during this time before he went back for Nyssa and Tegan. Talk about a side quest, Doc!

Do the Archivists have their own distinctive personalities?
And what are their names?
Great work btw!!!!❤️👍❤️👍
Thanks:P
They are individuals but they act often like one entity with singular goal taking priority. They might speak simultaneously and act in same ways, especially while dealing with mortals, but they do have differences.
Relating to the the name they don't have not enough sense of own identity to keep a name in a meaningful way, but they keep a title for clarity and division of specialties. The ones I went with are The Curator/Chronicler, The Anatomist/Naturalist, The Architect/Sculptor, The Wayfarer/Explorer, and tagging along is The Collector also refered to by their siblings as The Child. Titles make it also easier to interact with other of own species if needed, and if something was to happen to any of them- someone can easy take their place.
The main goal is to preserve life in their galaxy system. All of them are Archivists and fulfill duties relating to this function, but also have individual tasks to streamline the process. Wayfarer keeps track of places new and old, stars and planets are constantly moving, new form other disappear, sometimes a rogue asteroid collides. Curator takes care of Archives, what is needed or has to be reintroduced before a collection deteriorates. Architect keeps track of habitability of a planet, what should be done to make it more livable, but more focusing on chemistry/ physics side of things and Anatomist works with the living. They keep track of changes in species, what poses danger to them or witch pose danger to others. Collector is still young so he mostly just joins for collecting but spends most time with Anatomist since they deal with animals, cool plants or such, aaand they would be most likely to know what a child needs.
Tumblr media
I am not set on all the designs, so yeah, there might be slight diffrences later:p

After Saiwa joined them, they chartered a small ship for their passage to the island with the cave where they suspect the Vicegerent with the Sculptor and the Demon with Jack's heart and the knowledge where Jihovere's King is. Tiny Can is switching between them so each of them can take turns as Player 1. They decided to stay in character, though.
Poor Jihovere is sea sick again. Jeb is watching over her. And Captain Duath is watching over his apprentice, Captain Jack. Who is doing surprisingly well.
Tumblr media
He did a good job steering them through the jagged cliffs and sunken shipwrecks to the ship graveyard where the cave is. Jack doesn't have a driver's license (only Sai has) but since he steered Ms Coombes (stolen) Truck successfully over the winding roads of Tartosa, he's convinced he can even navigate the Millenium Falcon through an asteroid field...
Tumblr media
They went ashore. And really - there are several footprints leading to the cave!
Tumblr media
Jihovere: "Oh I'm so excited! I feel my love is near!" Jack: "And my heart!"
Tumblr media
Jack stepped towards the dark cave without hesitation. Saiwa tried to stop him: "Omg what are you doing? We'll have to prepare and make a plan!" But Jack already proceeded into the darkness: "Follow me! It's amazing!"
Tumblr media
And it was. They were speechless. (Yes, even Jack ^^')
Tumblr media
Jeb: "How beautiful. Master Lunvik would love this!" Jihovere spotted a lily plant. The Lily represents beauty, purity, transformation, rebirth, and devotion.
Tumblr media
And then she spotted the bats! Now she's utterly sure she would find her King soon!
Tumblr media
Jack: "Look! Over there is another exit!"
Tumblr media
But the route is blocked. Jihovere: "There is the skull the demon took! It's much bigger now." Jack: "We need to find a way through these vines. Did you bring a machete?" No one had. Of course not. Saiwa: "I informed you thusly we should prepare!"
Tumblr media
After they approached the skull, it started to talk! Skull: "Who is the One for you? One try for each. Four means death." There were 4 runes below the skull. Saiwa: "Well, whatever that means. But it should be easy. Jihovere, your turn." Skull: "Answer?" Jihovere was nervous, but all the signs in the cave hinted at her King.
Tumblr media
Jihovere: "My King is the One for me." The skull said: "Wrong." And the first rune vanished beyond a red light. Oh no. Before they could discuss who should answer next and what this is all about, the skull already demanded an: "Answer?" again ö.Ö' Jeb was utterly sure, his answer could only be: "Captain Duath is the One for me." Saiwa blushed. Is Jeb just playing his role or is he serious? ö.ö Skull: "Wrong." And the second red light hid the next rune. Saiwa: "Maybe it's not about romantic love?" Skull: "Answer?" Saiwa answered with a firm voice: "My friends." Skull: "Wrong."
Tumblr media
Jack was stressed beyond measure, if they mess this up, he would never get his heart back and he'd die - again! And then he would never be able to meet Lou again! Jack: "Only one answer left! What are we supposed to say?..." "Answer?" The Skull interrupted Jack and before he could stop himself from talking! The next word slipped out of his mouth unintentionally "I..." No! What had he done!? - silence - Saiwa: "Omg Jack! Why can't you keep your big snout shut?! That was our last try! We're doomed!" But then a green light appeared across the last rune and the Skull said: "Correct. The most important thing in your life is -> you!" And then he chuckled! Saiwa could not believe it! For him, who always put the others first, the most important thing - the One - should be himself? Saiwa: "What a nonsense! This thing is broken!" Jack: "I think he's right. If you don't love yourself and you don't care for your own wellbeing, you can't be there for others from the bottom of your heart. How is someone else supposed to love you, if you can't love yourself? Speaking of heart - let's gogoGO!"
Tumblr media
Jihovere already stepped through the now open arch towards the exit and Jeb followed her. After pondering for half a minute, they both agreed with Jack. Sai thought about it a bit longer. Could this be the reason for all the issues Jeb and him had? Because he still thinks he's tainted and no worthy partner for Jeb? Because he's not able to love himself? Jeb and him already talked about this, why is it so hard to change?
Tumblr media
'The desert, with nothing, with nothing We started there Hot, hot, remember that time Round, round, gather together Young and free, we hiss at the world Brighten ourselves in the dark with no answer'

Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart.Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Vesta Gamergoo, Blogher of Bloggers:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
No thing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
Dni(s): men who shave, men who trim, voltron fans, men who wax, borderlands the pre-sequel fans, men who epilate, people who refer to France as the metropole because it has colonies outside Europe, men who flay themselves alive and use their blood to fertilize the land, @gamergoo, men who are so entangled in the growth of their hair as to be indistinguishable as men

GVL / salt lick in the windowsill
Tumblr media
Claire Whitehurst, prism (full form), gouache on canvas,  8”x10”
salt lick in the windowsill January 5 - February 17, 2024 Artist Reception: Greenville First Friday, February 2, 6-9p
Tiger Strikes Asteroid Greenville (TSA GVL) artist collective is excited to present new works by Claire Whitehurst and Taylor Loftin in our next exhibition, salt lick in the windowsill. Composed of recent small paintings and ceramic works, the show explores an interplay of colors, imagery, and forms deeply rooted in the shared Southern experiences of the artists. Raised in Mississippi, the artists weave a collective narrative that serves as a meditation:  a contemplative exploration of the transient beauty and underlying tension inherent in Southern environments. Nature infests, abundantly growing over and hiding the underlying structures of the landscape, similar to the artists’ upbringing navigating social realities. Seeking transcendence, the exhibition presents the South through an otherworldly lens: imposing and beautiful.
About the Artists
Claire Whitehurst (b. 1991, Baton Rouge, Louisiana) is a painter, printmaker and ceramic sculptor with a BFA from the University of Mississippi and an MFA from the University of Iowa.  Her work pulls from the landscape and atmosphere of the deep South, exploring queer space, memory and intimacy through color, form, and material. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and her work has been featured in numerous publications including New American Paintings, and Oxford American, and the Graphite Journal in collaboration with the Hammer Museum. Currently, she lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Taylor Loftin (b.1993, Jackson Mississippi) is primarily a painter with a BFA from Memphis College of Art and an MFA from the University of Arkansas. Loftin approaches art making as an opportunity to re-examine his relationships to love, labor, familial and cultural histories, masculinity, religion, and art. He is a 2019 alum of the Skowhegan School of Painting & Drawing and has been a resident at the Wassaic Project in New York and Stove Works in Chattanooga. He is also the recipient of the 2020 William & Dorothy Yeck Award for Young Painters. Loftin currently lives and works in Water Valley, MS.

imperfect embrace
I will love you, as water loves sand, as time loves impatience, as the forest loves the sun
my heart aches for you, and with my words, unoriginal as they may be, i hope to reach you, my honey slicked tongue speaks so eloquently, all while the love i keep inside drips from my mouth
i only ask you one thing, to embrace me, as though my soft skin were cold stone, and that your calloused hands were that of a chisel, i ask you to be my sculptor, so that you may shape me into the being you want and deserve
words spoken a million times over, hold not the weight i desire, and my candy coated words are not sweeter than you, for you are divine, carved from a stone of great beauty, your chips and cracks are as elegant as your smooth surfaces and kindly carvings
my dearest lover, i ask that you embrace me, in a love older than time, as the sun embraces the moon, and as the grass embraces the dirt, i ask that you embrace me in your kindly marble arms, so that i may hold you in my own granite arms
and though i am not perfect, neither are you, but, is anything truly perfect? the sun burns with a fiery rage, and the moon pelted with asteroids, the grass dies underneath the heat of the sun, and the water turns to tsunamis under the pull of the moon
so lover, hold me in your imperfect embrace, and sing me a song of great sorrow, i shall join your tune, and there we shall lay, bodies intertwined, as our soft voices carry through the wind

Evolution: Top 10 Design Flaws in the Human Body! From Our Knees to Our Eyeballs, Our Bodies are Full of Hack Solutions.
— By Chip Rowe | APRIL 29, 2015 | Illustrations By Len Small | Nautilus
Tumblr media
The Greeks were obsessed with the mathematically perfect body. But unfortunately for anyone chasing that ideal, we were designed not by Pygmalion, the mythical sculptor who carved a flawless woman, but by MacGyver. Evolution constructed our bodies with the biological equivalent of duct tape and lumber scraps. And the only way to refine the form (short of an asteroid strike or nuclear detonation to wipe clean the slate) is to jerry-rig the current model. “Evolution doesn’t produce perfection,” explains Alan Mann, a physical anthropologist at Princeton University. “It produces function.”
With that in mind, I surveyed anatomists and biologists to compile a punch list for the human body, just as you’d do before buying a house. Get out your checkbook. This one’s a fixer-upper.
1. An Unsound Spine
Problem: Our spines are a mess. It’s a wonder we can even walk, says Bruce Latimer, director of the Center for Human Origins at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland. When our ancestors walked on all fours, their spines arched, like a bow, to withstand the weight of the organs suspended below. But then we stood up. That threw the system out of whack by 90 degrees, and the spine was forced to become a column. Next, to allow for bipedalism, it curved forward at the lower back. And to keep the head in balance—so that we didn’t all walk around as if doing the limbo—the upper spine curved in the opposite direction. This change put tremendous pressure on the lower vertebrae, sticking about 80 percent of adults, according to one estimate, with lower back pain.
Fix: Go back to the arch. “Think of your dog,” Latimer says. “From the sacrum to the neck, it’s a single bow curve. That’s a great system.” Simple. Strong. Pain-free. There’s only one catch: To keep the weight of our heads from pitching us forward, we’d need to return to all fours.
2. An Inflexible Knee
Problem: As Latimer says, “You take the most complex joint in the body and put it between two huge levers—the femur and the tibia—and you’re looking for trouble.” The upshot is your knee only rotates in two directions: forward and back. “That’s why every major sport, except maybe rugby, makes it illegal to clip, or hit an opponent’s knee from the side.”
Fix: Replace this hinge with a ball and socket, like in your shoulders and hips. We never developed this type of joint at the knee “because we didn’t need it,” Latimer says. “We didn’t know about football.”
Tumblr media
3. A Too-narrow Pelvis
Problem: Childbirth hurts. And to add insult to injury, the width of a woman’s pelvis hasn’t changed for some 200,000 years, keeping our brains from growing larger.
Fix: Sure, you could stretch out the pelvis, Latimer says, but technologists may already be onto a better solution. “I would bet that in 10,000 years, or even in 1,000 years, no woman in the developed world will deliver naturally. A clinic will combine the sperm and egg, and you’ll come by and pick up the kid.”
4. Exposed Testicles
Problem: A man’s life-giving organs hang vulnerably outside the body.
Fix: Moving the testicles indoors would save men the pain of getting hit in the nuts. To accomplish this, first you’d need to tweak the sperm, says Gordon Gallup, an evolutionary psychologist at the State University of New York at Albany. Apparently the testicles (unlike the ovaries) get thrown out in the cold because sperm must be kept at 2.5 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit below the body’s internal temperature. Gallup hypothesizes that these lower temperatures keep sperm relatively inactive until they enter the warm confines of a vagina, at which point they go racing off to fertilize the egg.1 This evolutionary hack prevents sperm from wearing themselves out too early. So change the algorithm, Gallup says. Keep the sperm at body temperature and make the vagina hotter. (And, by the way, there’s no need to draw up new blueprints: Elephants offer a pretty good prototype.)
5. Crowded Teeth
Problem: Humans typically have three molars on each side of the upper and lower jaws near the back of the mouth. When our brain drastically expanded in size, the jaw grew wider and shorter, leaving no room for the third, farthest back molars. These cusped grinders may have been useful before we learned to cook and process food. But now the “wisdom teeth” mostly just get painfully impacted in the gums.
Fix: Get rid of them. At one point, they appeared to be on their way out—about 25 percent of people today (most commonly Eskimos) are born without some or all of their third molars. In the meantime, we’ve figured out how to safely extract these teeth with dental tools, which, Mann notes, we probably wouldn’t have invented without the bigger brains. So you could call it a wash.
6. Meandering Arteries
Problem: Blood flows into each of your arms and legs via one main artery, which enters the limb on the front side of the body, by the biceps or hip flexors. To supply blood to tissues at a limb’s back side, such as the triceps and hamstrings, the artery branches out, taking circuitous routes around bones and bundling itself with nerves. This roundabout plumbing can make for some rather annoying glitches. At the elbow, for instance, an artery branch meets up with the ulnar nerve, which animates your little finger, just under the skin. That’s why your arm goes numb when the lower tip of your upper arm bone, called the humerus or “funny bone,” takes a sharp blow.
The Fix: Feed a second artery into the back side of each arm and leg, by the shoulder blades or buttock, says Rui Diogo, an assistant professor of anatomy at Howard University, in Washington, DC, who studies the evolution of primate muscles. This extra pipe would provide a more direct route from the shoulder to the back of the hand, preventing vessels and nerves from wandering too close to the skin.
7. A Backward Retina
Problem: The photoreceptor cells in the retina of the eye are like microphones facing backward, writes Nathan Lents, an associate professor of molecular biology at the City University of New York. This design forces light to travel the length of each cell, as well as through blood and tissue, to reach the equivalent of a receiver on the cell’s backside. The setup may encourage the retina to detach from its supporting tissue—a leading cause of blindness. It also creates a blind spot where cell fibers, akin to microphone cables, converge at the optic nerve—making the brain refill the hole.
Fix: Poach the obvious solution from the octopus or the squid: Just flip the retina.
“Evolution Constructed Our Bodies with the Biological Equivalent of Duct Tape and Lumber Scraps.”
Tumblr media
8. A Misrouted Nerve
Problem: The recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) plays a vital role in our ability to speak and swallow. It feeds instructions from the brain to the muscles of the voice box, or larynx, below the vocal cords. Theoretically, the trip should be a quick one. But during fetal development, the RLN gets entwined in a tiny lump of tissue in the neck, which descends to become blood vessels near the heart. That drop causes the nerve to loop around the aorta before traveling back up the larynx. Having this nerve in your chest makes it vulnerable during surgery—or a fist fight.
Fix: “This one’s easy,” says Rebecca Z. German, a professor of anatomy and neurobiology at Northeast Ohio Medical University, in Rootstown. While a baby is in utero, develop the RCN after sending that irksome neck lump of vessel tissue to the chest. That way, the nerve won’t get dragged down with it.
9. A Misplaced Voice Box
Problem: The trachea (windpipe) and esophagus (food pipe) open into the same space, the pharynx, which extends from the nose and mouth to the larynx (voice box). To keep food out of the trachea, a leaf-shaped flap called the epiglottis reflexively covers the opening to the larynx whenever you swallow. But sometimes, the epiglottis isn’t fast enough. If you’re talking and laughing while eating, food may slip down and get lodged in your airway, causing you to choke.
Fix: Take a cue from whales, whose larynx is located in their blowholes. If we moved the larynx into our nose, says German, we could have two independent tubes. Sure, we’d lose the ability to talk. But we could still communicate in song, as whales do, through vibrations in our nostrils.
10. A Klugey Brain
Problem: The human brain evolved in stages. As new additions were being built, older parts had to remain online to keep us up and running, explains psychologist Gary Marcus in his book Kluge: The Haphazard Evolution of the Mind.2 And that live-in construction project led to slapdash workarounds. It’s as if the brain were a dysfunctional workplace, where young employees (the forebrain) handled newfangled technologies like language while the old guard (the midbrain and hindbrain) oversaw the institutional memory—and the fuse box in the basement. A few outcomes: depression, madness, unreliable memories, and confirmation bias.
Fix: We’re screwed.

What started out as a project, one late summer, by the eager developers, Matthew Impey and J. Richards, became more than a nightmare to follow. Never meaning to be publicly released, Asteroid Sculptor relishes in its obscurity, jarring game play and occasionally hard to read text. With an unrelenting esoteric humor, the full manuscript was written only a week after the game had started. There was only one problem.
It would take five years to get to this point, some of those with no work at all, others with in-fighting, dispute and demoralized fatigue. The initial excitement was enough for the creators to believe they’d have something complete by 2018. In fact, it hadn’t even been until 2019 that an official engine was chosen. Drafts, sketches and conversational lines filled the void. It was going along like just about every other game development story.
The inability to wipe the smear that was Asteroid Sculptor's enduring presence in both creators lives proved to motivate the young authors to eventually start again. Impey had picked up the slack and J. Richards had just left it behind entirely. Admittedly, both creators had not pursued game development outside early childhood immersion experiences in a depth equivocal with what modern game developers might consider “hobbyist”. The official engine chosen, RPG Maker MV, was sectarian and fan devoted, kids, coders and dads ran their races with it. And not one game from the official library looked a thing like Asteroid Sculptor. Matthew Impey’s exposure to gaming had largely been absorbed by the PS1 console and early PC gaming itself. The possibility for ‘the game’ to mark their next great creative exposé was a turning point from their more original passion for music. Indeed, in years past, the two had founded 'Metro Product', alongside third and pivotal member, Ethan Toews. With its unabashedly sardonic choice in name, Metro Product was ready to launch “Metro Record”, a child-label, equally imaginary, scooped for the purpose of music profitability and collecting. All activities, including Asteroid Sculptor, came to be loosely branched under the Metro Product banner. That is, ‘the ideology that I shall do as I say”. This ideology proved to be influential.
The very name for Metro Product began in the same way as did the original title for Asteroid Sculptor. that is, under working title “5D Age of Aquarius”. This early moniker was begrudgingly scrapped due to its associations with the band "Fifth Dimension" and their track titled, "Age of Aquarius". What remained, albeit with title change, were the endlessly expansive possibilities of the present day being sifted through the fictionalized satire both developers found themselves in increasingly. Asteroid Sculptor is very much a realist take on the 21st century and living it. It was tainted with doom and gloom, a memoir of what both authors had lived and experienced, tying together those memories with the broader identity of a one man/citizen of the future within the game's made-up eschatology.
Stories of time travel, alien hijacking, demonic possession, with a general sense of abandonment and despair were the bread and butter. Furthermore, impossibility in the way of modern society, social aggravation and the satirically large egos of the every day. In the frame of Asteroid Sculptor’s entirety, the design ranges from 3D maximalism to staunch, NES-style minimalism.
In early 2022, the game's building blocks had doubled and it had became, quite literally, a new game for the two, with realistic challenges and breakthroughs ensuing. Prior to early demo release (Demo 1.0 August 3rd, 2022), the game's pre-release had absorbed criticism for its 1D "Simpson's esque" satire. The game had been all about despair, abjection, confusion and the inability to combat enemies or even solve puzzles essential to the plot and gameplay. What seemed to be coming to fruition came to a dead-end due to the one-sided focus of all that a game is. It had seemed more like a dream diary than a playable "game". There was one cause and one solution.
This relates back to the first sentence, way back when the game started five years ago. Only now, both developers had grown up quite a lot. As both came equipped with a new arsenal of skills and experience set, so did protagonist, “Jack-off/Clutch”. Rather than acting as a hopeless NPC, the game we provide to you today showcases the original fervor of development combined with the ability to engage in actual problems. Weapons, tools, solutions and means for the player to fight back in the various dream realms of the game became a feature for the first time ever, reflecting a crucial difference from what had all began as learned hopelessness and ‘unusurpable genius’. And, now, just another indie game:

Note
hello wot placemats do you think indicate someone being good in the medical field?
Chiron in the 6th or 10th House (or conjunct Midheaven)
Chiron is the asteroid connected to healing and medicine, so having it in the 6th House of work or in the 10th house of career can potentially show someone who works in the medical field (doctors, nurses, etc.)
2. 6th or 10th house ruler conjunct Chiron
(e.g. Cancer on the 6th House cusp, Cancer is ruled by the Moon and your Moon is conjunct Chiron.)
This can also be a sign of working in a medical field or having a career connected to medicine, any form of healing (mental, physical).
Chiron is connected to the people who teach, guide others, the healers, the people who are there to help.
3. Neptune in the 6th or 10th house, 6th or 10th House ruler conjunct Neptune
Neptune is the planet connected to healing and it is mostly associated with medicine and helping others.
Neptune is connected to substances and drugs. Therefore having it in the house of work or the house of career may indicate that in your professional life you are meant to help others, heal others, deal with drugs and medicine.
The negative part is that Neptune absorbs so a healer can often become sick like the people he is healing. If dealing with psychology and therapy, the Neptunian person can become very overwhelmed by the issues of the people he deals with. And with them there is a high risk of catching the diseases of the people they are healing.
Neptune I'd associate with doctors, nurses as well as therapists.
4. Saturn in 6th or 10th House, 6th or 10th House ruler conjunct Saturn
While Saturn isn't typically connected to the medical field and any healing it is the planet connected to responsibility, duty, commitment and the medical field is something that requires those qualities, so I can see people with these placements being great at the medical field and any careers that require a lot of time, focus, discipline, devotion.
5. Mercury in the 3rd, 6th or 10th; 3rd or 6th house ruler conjunct Mercury
Mercurial people can make great surgeons.
Mercury is the planet connected to precisions, they can be good at anything that requires great skills, stable hands - they are good at the things they do with their hands.
With Mercury in 6th and 10th house specifically, this can show someone who has the potential to be a great surgeon or master any profession that requires work with hands (electrician, sculptor, a lot of beauty-related professions, etc.)
6. Virgo on the 6th or 10th House cusp
Virgo is possibly one of the most dutiful signs (Capricorn as well) - they can make great nurses. Doctors as well, but I can see them better at helping others, taking care of others, serving others.
This can also be connected to Cancers but Cancer can be too emotional to deal with people who are struggling. Virgo is an earth sign so they can be rational no matter how hard the situation is.
7. Aquarius on the 6th or 10th House cusp
A lot of doctors are Aquarians.
My best explanation is that Aquarius has the ability to detach themselves from situations that might make other people break down. And in medicine, when you see people who are weak, people whose future and life is dependent on you, you cannot attach yourself to them no matter how much you want to, because then you have to constantly suffer.
Aquarius cares for others and they want to help others, but there is no emotional bonding.
8. Venus in 3rd
This can also make someone a good surgeon, but it could be connected to plastic surgery, dentistry as well. The parts of medicine that are focused on aesthetic, the appearance of something.
9. Venus in 6th or 10th
This can also be connected to plastic surgeons or anyone whose career and job is connected to the appearance of others.
If I think of any other placement I will add it later

Colossal Boy
Gim Allon of Mars Colony was well in his training to be a Science Police Officer when he investigated a meteorite that imbued him with the power to increase his size and mass. Gim held a long time, unrequited crush on fellow Legionnaire Shrinking Violet until she finally started dating him after being stranded on an icy asteroid together. Unbeknownst to him, the Shrinking Violet who he dated and eventually proposed to was a Durlan, blackmailed into replacing Shrinking Violet by Imskian dissidents. Once the truth came to light, Gim and Yera (the Durlan’s real name) were able to work through the deception and married one another. One thing of note for Colossal Boy’s service in the Legion is that he quite often pilots the Cruiser for away team missions and subsequently crashes said Cruiser.

Pallas Athene stations retrograde
Timeline (current events in bold):
February 19, 2020, 13:17 UT - Pallas Athene enters retrograde zone, 12:13 Capricorn
April 30, 2020, 00:21 UT - Pallas Athene enters Aquarius
May 17, 2020, 08:30 UT - Pallas Athene stations retrograde, 0:57 Aquarius
June 3, 2020, 01:04 UT - Pallas Athene retrogrades back to Capricorn
September 6, 2020, 01:07 UT - Pallas Athene stations direct, 12:13 Capricorn
December 7, 2020. 12:12 UT - Pallas Athene re-enters Aquarius
December 10, 2020, 14:03 UT - Pallas Athene leaves retrograde zone, 0:57 Aquarius
Well, if this doesn’t just seem tailor-made to coexist with a Venus retrograde. Martin Bulgerin writes (emphasis mine):
Frequently, Pallas retrograde is a time when you must concentrate more fully on some creative endeavor. There's often a need to rethink your plans and come up with a new approach to some situation. It may seem like there's a conflict between the head and the heart, although it's possible to go beyond this apparent conflict and have it both ways. You may be experiencing troubles adjusting to situations where you don't naturally fit in, requiring compromise or creative resolution on your part. This is often a "mental" period when the emotional life takes a back seat to something more important.
Pallas Athene is a key participant in all the 2020 cosmic drama. Although she missed out (ha) on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction which started off this whole madhouse ride, she’s been right there ever since: right there for all three Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions, as well as right there for the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction which closes out 2020. And the common denominator is Jupiter.
Pallas Athene is the “Daddy’s Girl” asteroid, and Jupiter is “Daddy.” In her book Asteroid Goddesses, Demetra George wrote of Pallas Athene as “a woman in a man’s world.” She had a privileged position on Olympus, but she paid a price: “the denial of her femininity and feminine origins.” Demetra continued:
Yet it was this very sacrifice that enabled Pallas to enter the patriarchal world and provide a forum for harmonious communication between men and women. Thus, the ancient voice of the matriarchy was able to adapt and grow within the changing times rather than fade away into a past that was no more. However there are those who perceive Pallas Athene as a symbol of a feminine goddess who sold out to the patriarchy. Astrologically, this archetype can signify those women who support and defend a male-ordered world, or align themselves as the right hand to successful and powerful men.
It’s also useful to consider Pallas Athene’s various “areas” to see what will be affected by her retrograde:
She invented the flute, the trumpet, the potter’s wheel, the first earthenware vases, the plough, rake, and ox-yoke. As goddess of the arts and crafts, Pallas served as the patroness of artists, artisans, architects, and sculptors. She instructed humanity in the trades of smithing and metal founding as well as the arts of cooking, embroidery, woolworking, and weaving. Finally, as goddess of health and healing, Pallas Athene taught a variety of medical practices.
During these COVID-19 times, some of her “areas” seem to be of greater significance than others. Pallas Athene backwards is asking us to be smarter about them, for one thing. She is no doubt appalled by the levels of consumerism and waste in the “first world,” seeing how unhealthy it is for us as well as for the planet. Those who are working within the system to change it for the better, can use these retrograde months to strategize about a more successful approach to lessening the capitalist patriarchy. (One supposes that the “women who support and defend a male-ordered world” will double down, though.)
Where is Pallas Athene transiting in your natal chart? That is where you need to execute a strategic retreat, in order to strategize more successfully. We’ll discover the specifics as Pallas Athene has to back up through the little Aquarius she’s traveled. Perhaps that “brilliant idea” you had during the past 18 days, is much less brilliant than you thought it was. Take note now of all the mistakes, snafus, and unexpected results, in order to better combat them more effectively once Pallas Athene stations direct.

Tagged by: @heyjealousy09 Hey thanks, you!
Rules: tag 9 people you’d like to get to know better
Top four ships: Kurt/Blaine (Glee), Bitty/Jack (Check, Please!), Jake/Amy (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Jason/Janet (The Good Place)
Last song: Well I’ve been listening to Bill Withers lately (RIP) but I was having to clear space on my laptop last night and had to be sure other files still worked so it was the download of Darren Criss singing “Being Alive” for Rosie O’Donnell’s livestream (yeah that’s why I played it).
Last movie: So I’m much more of a TV show person than a movie person, but I was flipping channels and there’s one of those “in-between the local network” stations called “This,” and there was this hilarious movie called Vamps, with Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter as two vampires living in New York. There’s a Sex and the City vibe to it, it has a great supporting cast, I’d recommend it if you can find it.
Reading: So I start and end each day with a page from Gmorning, Gnight! Little Pep Talks for Me and You by Lin-Manuel Miranda, illustrated by Jonny Sun. I have Scott McCloud’s The Sculptor to tackle next. Otherwise it’s fanfic.
What food you’re craving right now: Soon as this whole thing is over (and not “over” as in “oh the asteroid hit and we’re all dead”) I want fried catfish, hushpuppies, cole slaw and sweet tea!

NY / Eusung Lee: Epitaphs
Tumblr media
Eusung Lee: Epitaphs October 21, 2023 – November 19, 2023  Opening Reception: October 21, Saturday 6-8PM  Special Gallery Hours: Wed - Sun 1-6pm
Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York, in collaboration with DOOSAN Art Center, is thrilled to present Epitaphs, the inaugural solo exhibition in New York by the critically acclaimed South Korean sculptor Eusung Lee.
This exhibition is a part of DOOSAN International Program, designed to expand the global reach of contemporary Korean art through partnerships with Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York.
In Epitaphs, Lee will showcase a series of sculptures and wall-mounted reliefs that evoke a strong sense of bodily presence and narrative possibilities.
In today's rapidly digitizing world, where the boundary between the virtual and the tangible often blurs, Lee remains dedicated to the richness of physical space and the sensory experiences offered by handcrafted materials. She embraces the classical lineage and tactile qualities inherent to sculpture, seamlessly melding an array of media, including wood, clay, metal, paper, fabric, yarn, and ready-made objects.
Doodled Kouros (2021), a large wooden panel, alludes to the iconic Ancient Greek sculptures of nude male youths. Lee stumbled upon the slab of wood in a carpenter's shop where it was originally intended to become a table. Recognizing its latent potential, Lee worked with the panel's inherent characteristics and contours, inscribing the wood grain with marks that alternated between random and intricate. Her carvings included low relief coffee cups, butterflies, and flowering plants—motifs that recur throughout her work and are both universally familiar and deeply personal.
Colloquial Falling (2021-2023) represents a fusion of intersecting forms, reminiscent of both butterflies and human spines. Like much of Lee’s oeuvre, this sculpture engages in an intricate interplay between brutality and care. Delicate insect forms emerge from roughly modeled aluminum, carefully cloaked in knit wool. Within this juxtaposition of warmth and cold, the human and the otherworldly coexist in an intuitively balanced composition.
Pierce, Jane (2019) features an oversized, wall-mounted wooden ear meticulously punctuated by an array of metal earrings and hoops. The name 'Jane' alludes to both the artist's elder sister, who emigrated to the United States long ago, and the enigmatic “Jane Doe”—the term given to an unidentified woman. The ear's form is based on Lee’s fascination with her older sister's pierced ears. Piercing was a rarity in South Korea at the time and became a source of fascination for the artist, symbolizing the unfamiliar, exotic, and dangerous facets of American culture. The ear, while serving as a monument to her sister, also represents the artist as a listener—open to new possibilities and eager to connect.
Eusung Lee (b. 1989) is a visual artist currently living and working in Seoul, South Korea. She holds a BFA from Hongik University and an MFA from Korean National University of Art. Lee has exhibited her work in many museums and art centers, including Art Sonje Center, Hite Collection, WESS, Art Space Boan, Space Catalog. Lee was also a resident artist at Seoul Metropolitan Nanji Art Studio and was selected as a Chanel x Frieze "Now & Next" artist in 2022 and awarded Emerging Artist of 2023 from Seoul Museum of Art.
DOOSAN Art Center, based in Seoul and established in 2007, stands as one of South Korea's foremost nonprofit institutions. It actively supports emerging artists and curators through a range of domestic and international programs. In 2023, DOOSAN aims to enhance its global presence by expanding and strengthening its collaborative projects with Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York, The International Studio & Curatorial Program, and Christopher Y. Lew. DOOSAN International Program encompasses both residencies and exhibitions, fostering growth through partnerships with influential local institutions and experts.
