WAIT WAIT LOVE LOVE OMG INJUST HAD AN IDEA YOUâLL LOVE
Soooo i read a fanfic and it had lipstick so i have an idea for you! Testing the lipstick to see if it transfers or not on reca! (> w<)
- đ
Alright my love you asked for it >:3

The smell of fresh cosmetics filled the dressing room aboard the Astral Express as you set down a collection of lipsticks, each of them shimmering under the warm lights. Reds, pinks, nudes, and daring purplesâall of it just waiting to be tested. A small grin tugged at your lips as you tapped your fingers on the vanity. You had the perfect test subject in mind.
Mr. Reca, director extraordinaire, a man with a tongue as sharp as his wit, just happened to be nearby. Lounging on a couch behind you, legs crossed, watching you with lazy amusement as if he already knew what you are plotting to do for the day.
"What's with all the lipsticks, dear?" he asked, his voice smooth with a hint of amusement.
You smirked, holding up a tube of deep crimson lipstick. ''Just testing some transfer-proof claims. Do you want to help?"
He raised a brow, clearly intrigued. "Ah, a brave artistic experiment. How could I refuse such an offer?''
Without waiting for more of his banter, you twisted the lipstick tube, revealing the vibrant red bullet. You leaned into the mirrror, carefully applying the bold color to your lips, painting them with precision. The glossy finish caught the light, managing to even tempt you with its look.
Reca watched every movement, his gaze darkening slightly as you turned to face him, lips parted just enough to invite his curiosity.
''Ready?" you asked, voice low and challenging.
He chuckled softly, patting the seat next to him. "Oh darling, I was born ready."
You didn't hesitate. Straddling his lap as your fingers tangled in the lapel of his ever-present coat. His breath hitched, but he recovered quickly, eyes gleaming with mischief.
And then you kissed him.
It wasnât a shy, testing peckâ it was bold and deliberate, your lips moving against his with practiced skill. He responded immediately, his hand sliding to your waist as he pulled you closer to him, deepening the kiss until heat coiled low in your stomach.
When you finally pulled back, slightly breathless, you examined his lips.
''Hmm.." you murmured, biting your lip in concentration. "Well, it's definitely not transfer-proof."
Reca's lips were smeared with crimson, the evidence of your passionate experiment staining his mouth like a badge of honor.
''Shame," he drawled off, voice rougher than before. ''But I'd say it did passed the 'kissability' test.''
"Don't get too cocky, Reca. We're just getting started.''
His grin widened, "Oh, by all means, do continue."
The next shade was a dusty pink matteâ soft, innocent, but promising. You applied it carefully, leaning close to the mirror once again.
''Looks sweet," Reca commented. "But I prefer it when you look dangerous."
"Noted," you said before straddling him once more.
This time, the kiss was slower, exploratory, your lips brushing against his in gentle caresses before pressing firmly. His hands gripped your hips, fingers flexing as though restraining himself from taking control.
When you pulled back, a smug smile tugged
at your lips. "Better?"
He licked his lips deliberately, tasting the faint floral flavor of the lipstick. "Sweet enough to ruin a man."
You lightly smacked his shoulder. "Focus, Reca. Lipstick transfer."
He leaned back, tilting his head thoughtfully. "None this time. But you might want to check for a different kind of stain."
Your face heated at his implication, but you refused to be outdone. "Careful, Director. Might start thinking you enjoy this too much."
"Who says I don't?"
Shade after shade, kiss after kiss, the tension thickened between you. You even pecked his cheeks along with leaving kisses down his neck and onto his collarbone. Some lipsticks transferred disastrously, leaving Reca looking like he'd walked off a chaotic film set. Others held strong, your lips pristine despite the fervent exchanges.
But it wasn't just about the lipstick anymore.
Every kiss grew hungrier, more desperate, his hands roamed your back, your fingers threading through his tousled hair as you both surrendered to the escalating heat between you two.
''You know," Reca murmured between kisses, ''I think you're just using this as an excuse to kiss me."
You pulled back, breathless but defiant. "And what if I am?"
His eyes darkened, a rare seriousness cutting through his usual teasing demeanor. "Then I'd say it's the best idea you've ever had."
That was all the invitation you needed.
This time, the lipstick be damned. Your mouth found his again, lips moving with reckless abandon. He groaned softly against you, the sound sending shivers down your spine. His grip on your waist tightened, anchoring you to him as if he never wanted to let you go.
The vanity lights flickered softly in the background, forgotten as the world narrowed to just the two of youâheat, desire, and the intoxicating taste of each other.
When you finally broke apart, both of you panting. Reca's lips and entire face were thoroughly wrecked, smeared with remnants of at least three different shades of kiss marks.
"Congratulations," he said hoarsely, "you've officially ruined my face."
You laughed breathlessly, brushing your thumb over his swollen lips. "You wear it well."
He caught your hand, pressing a kiss to your palm. "Careful, darling. Keep this up, and I might start thinking you actually like me.''
You smirked, leaning in for one last kiss, softer but no less passionate. "Maybe I do."
Reca's grin returned, cocky and utterly irresistible. "Good. Because l'm not letting you stop now."

Asking for Sampo classpect bestie âĽď¸
One Sampo analysis comin right up bestie! âĽď¸
Edit: Damn even when writing him henever ceases to make me mad. My draft not saving 4 times...
Sampo Koski: The Sylph of Rage
gonna put in a page break this time, for this is a doozy!
Sylph: The passive creation class
One who creates their aspect for others.
Alternatively, one who heals through their aspect.
Rage
Abstract: Doubt, Confusion, Skepticism, Chaos, Truth, Actual Rage
Literal: Clowns, Cults, Theater
Rage is one of the most... bewildering aspects in Homestuck, and those who identify with it are even more-so.
Sampo is no different: A man of many voices and personas, sending anyone that has the misfortune of running into him into a whirlwind of schemes and swindles.
Rage.
Those bound to the aspect are sources of great confusion and chaos. They're steadfast and stick to what they believe in, near impossible to convince them of otherwise. Though this might label them as stubborn, it's unwise to underestimate them:
Sampo's introduction to the astral express crew was nothing short of baffling. What is a man doing there huddling beneath a pile of snow in the middle of nowhere?
The answer comes rushing in with Gepard running into the Astral Express Crew in his pursuit for the blue haired man. Gerpard accuses them of being Sampo's accomplice and when they try to clarify that they aren't, Sampo disappears. Note that this makes March 7th very angry.
This, apparently, isn't anything new and has gained a reputation for causing trouble. Disappearing at inopportune moments, antics like these are considered as "classic" behavior by Seele.
Now that his chaotic nature is established, next is pinning truth into his character. But how can a man who constantly lies and connives have any bit of truth tied to them?
Let's segway into his class, the Sylph
I know it sounds kinda weird, but bear with me.
Sylphs are mostly known as the healers of Homestuck, creating and providing others with their aspect to aid them in one way or another. But keep in mind that this isnât always the case.
Sylph of Light Aranea Serket has more obvious examples of healing and providing Light to others. In our first introduction to the character, she offers to heal Terezi of her blindness, stating that she could help "people see things":
How magical.
Aranea can also instill literal Light into people, like what she did with Jake English.
Next we have Kanaya Maryam, our Sylph of Space. When we get to meet her properly, we get to see her in her room. Kanaya's room is covered with garments she created, some for other people.
Obvious Sylph behavior there, but Kanaya's role becomes more... atypical than what one would expect a Sylph to be.
Kanaya's aspect of Space is associated with both emptiness and matte; literal space. Therefore Kanaya heals through creating more space.
During the Horrorstuck phase of the comic, Eridan was planning on joining the side of the antagonist Bec Noir as a desperate attempt to keep livin. He blasts holes into both of them, killing two trolls as some sort of proof to Bec's loyalty. One of those trolls was of course Kanaya, and through what I could label as a unique ascension into her role as a Sylph by reviving as a rainbow drinker was she able to stop Eridan from killing any further.
First, she was able to fill in her otherwise fatal wound before hunting down Eridan and return the favor, increasing the space within his torso:
This may have not have healed anyone, in fact its the opposite, but killing Eridan was for the benefit of the other trolls still alive.
Sylphs are also the archetype of the fairy. Fairies can grant wishes or power to those who ask for it, just like how Kanaya created a wand for Eridan and how Aranea gives long expositions to anyone who comes across her booth, acting out the phrase "Knowledge is Power".
So how does this apply to Mr. Koski?
Remember that the Sylph is a passive class, they donât take action themselves until someone or something else influences them to do so. And once they are incentivized to act, they act to help others accomplish their goals.
I should also mention that itâs ironic that a person on the path of Nihility, a character that deals in debugging the opponent, would be classified as a healer player.
So what if I told you that Sampo Koski is the true savior of Belobog.
Letâs go back to our protagonistsâ first meeting with him: If it werenât for the convenience of his encounter at the beginning and the subsequent misunderstanding with the Silvermane Gaurds of being his accomplices, the Astral Express Crew wouldnât have easily been able to find their first lead in their mission through Cocolia.
But before they were about to leave with them, when March 7th was still trying to prove their innocence, the Trailblazer shows the Captain, Gepard, a photo of their planet as proof that they aren't from this planet.
The image stirs up feelings of surprise and awe, the viewers unable to believe that what they're looking at is their home.
This would lead to the first bit of Belobog's lore and what life was like before the big freeze, being retold in legends.
This also raises confusion for the players, you must have wondered why Belobog is in an ice age while the past had recounts of outer-world visitors at least once.
For his freedom, Sampo enables truth and suspicion. Though a trade evokes images of a rogue, there is a explanation that I'll dive into later in another post.
Two big examples that showcase his "roundabout restoration" both happen during the opening and closing acts of the Underworld arc.
While the Trailblazer and March were at Natasha's resting, Dan Heng wakes up. Sampo talks to him first and instructs him to join the fight club, telling him that if he were to become champion he would be able to uncover something about it.
Though, winning doesn't exactly mean that one can get into direct contact with them. Instead, winning buffs Dan Heng's reputation and his likelihood of reaching someone who may have their answer.
This leads them to Wildfire, where the Underworld arc begins. Through Sampo having the Astral Express crew meet Wildfire were they able to save the Underworlders from their crisis and the Crew able to discover more about the planetâs stellaron.
Itâs also where Bronya, who was also brought down there by Sampo, not old uncovers the truth of Belobogâs underground residents, but also about herself and her origins rooted down there, both of which were hidden from her by her mother Cocolia. And through that experience does she decide that once she becomes Supreme Guardian she will help her planet for the better.
If Sampo didnât bring Bronya to the Underworld to witness their hardships, she wouldnât have the initiative to help them once she returned. We also wouldnât have had BronSeele
I should also note that Sampo could also have been named after the mythological item of the same name. The Sampo from Finnish mythology was a device forged by a blacksmith named Ilmarinen, its purpose was to bring great wealth and prosperity yet the characters that are involved in its story were consumed by greed and fought for its ownership before losing it in the sea and breaking it.
Next, let's discuss the arc of the Sylph.
Sylphs deal with the struggle of moderating their aspect, sometimes having so much of it that they push it onto others needlessly in the form of meddling. Meddling in other's affairs is a trademark characteristic of Sylphs that can be seen in Kanaya and Aranea: The former being given the name Fussyfangs due to her habit of placing herself between others and act as a mediator in stressful situations and the latter literally messing with the timeline so much she caused itâs destruction just to become important in Homestuck's larger narrative.
The entirety of his character story is just him under many disguises and swindling others left and right, meddling and double-crossing other's while causing chaos and raising suspicion while heâs at it. Sampo was also responsible for one of the most ridiculous bans to ever happen in Belobog in my opinion:
But in an example where his meddling does cause some good happens when Bronya was about to (falsely) apprehend our Crew, Sampo comes in out of nowhere to rescue them. In the process though, he knocks everyone out. His interference saves our protagonists and skews Cocoliaâs plans off course.
For saving him from Gepard, he feels like he owes us a rescue back.
For how he knew where to find us, he tells the Trailblazer that after his escape from Gepard, he looked after them and March and Dan Heng afterwards.
In fact, Sampo has a peculiar habit of watching others, especially if who he's watching has no idea.
This moves onto my next and final point: What is Sampo's purpose in the story as a Sylph of Rage?
This is where this post will cross more into theory territory, starting with Sampo's Lightcone.
The card's brief description describes a sniper aiming his crosshairs at Sampo, who seems oblivious to his impending demise as he throws money all around him. Before the sniper can pull the trigger however, his target turns to look at him through the lenses. Almost as if he was waiting for him.
The description mentions how it seems that Sampo can read minds, but I can promise you that he likely couldn't. But what Sampo could do is appear to those he thinks can benefit from his services, attracting them by doing something outrageous. Hence his plead to have his assassin to hear him out.
This brings us to his last cutscene in Belabog: the Trailblazerâs fever dream.
In it, he does say some very⌠curious things. Although it can be said that this is how the Trailblazer perceives the man, thereâs a few things about this scene that make me think otherwise.
The dream plays out like a snippet of a play with Mr. Koski being center stage. He seems to be talking to someone, briefly recounting his feelings on the Astral Express Crew.
This "someone" could be the Aeon Aha, who's design is a chaotic mashup of circus and drama, both of which are associated with the Aspect of Rage.
Who Sampo could be talking to could be Aha, the Aeon of Elation. Despite being on the path of Nihilty, why would he have ties to a different Aeon?
Well, Nihility is only half of what Aha represents. The summary of their beliefs being that the universe is ultimately without meaning, Nihility, and cruel by nature. But Aha does give a reason to live through that pain, and so what it means to live a life to the Elation is to find joy to numb the pain.
Healing wounds, diluting sorrow and eliminating pain through laughter well explains the role of a Sylph of Rage in simple terms. Sampo echoes this statement in the Trailblazer's dream, adding onto how he'd rather be on the sidelines instead of being an active player:
It's been established that Sampo likes to work behind the scenes in order to avoid arrest and that the events in Belabog have left him exposed more than he'd like. He is given the offer to leave and come to Epsilon, which is curiously enough the only place where Aha's followers, the Masked Fools, are mentioned to be in.
He refuses, saying how he doesn't find the place any fun. Perhaps he doesn't find the company of Masked Fools to be anything to be associated with. When taking into consideration his secretive nature and the extravagance of the Masked fools, then it's a fair assumption that he doesn't like them despite being affiliated with the same Aeon.
Afterwards, he starts to say his farewells to the entity. Though this may read like Sampo is just talking to Aha while oblivious to the fact that their conversation is being observed, the whole dream makes itself to be a play; a monologue.
He mentions that he needs to make his curtain call, which is when an actor comes out from backstage to acknowledge the applause of the audience. He faces forward, towards the camera before asking if the viewers enjoyed his performance. He asks if he brought joy, but to any who played this line may just have added more confusion and suspicion to Sampoâs character.
Once the Trailblazer wakes up and you choose to tell March that you dreamt of Sampo, March takes it as a bad omen.
So what purpose could this dream have?
March could be correct in that the Sampo dream could be a signal for events to come. Whether those events are either good or bad, weâll have to wait and see.
We are going to see Sampo again later down the line for his curtain call, the story on his lightcone is a microcosm of what will happen to the Trailblazer in the future: They will need help, likely in a dire situation, and Sampo will appear out of no where to aid us. His sudden appearance will certainly stir shock and surprise to everyone around him, using that to his advantage to bide precious seconds to clock in his blows.
His dream serves as a reminder that heâs watching us from the shadows, or at least keeping tabs on our progress and waiting for the right time to give the Trailblazer an offer they canât refuse.

@kohouri asked :
Despite his best efforts, the package would still arrive in the recipient's hands one day late. That and the contents of this gift were the only things Diamond knew about it. He didn't even package it himself. Otherwise, the flat carton box wouldn't have been put into a bigger one, then another box, and then wrapped in a black matte paper and tied across with a golden ribbon. The free spaces between boxes were stuffed with soft protective pouches resembling big marshmallows. In the end, the package grew twice its original size but the contents didn't grow in number⌠A bag of hand-picked dried mineshrooms from Thalassa⌠// A 100-only sugar-coated fish eye from Pier Point's favorite Kiliro Fish Restaurant⌠// A super-sour edition of "Sour Dreams" soft candy brought back from Penacony's Dreamscape⌠// A mini tuskpir roll with swirling cloud patterns from the very last batch of products from Xianzhou's oldest bakery⌠// A pack of Trick Snack flavoured with a fruit that recently reemerged thanks to the IPC's efforts in environmental restoration⌠// A selection of thirteen chocolate-dipped pieces of pickled pineapples, each from a world where 'pineapple' denotes something different⌠// A handful of home- and ( probably ) by-a-child -made chocolate-chip-overload Moo-Moo yogurt cookies wrapped in a crumpled transparent foil⌠// Eden made it clear that she was fond of snacks last time, and Diamond concluded that a share of his untouched, well-preserved, and peculiar stash would make for a good testing ground regarding Eden's tastes ( and that would certainly emphasise how much of a goodwill the "Head of Strategic Investment Department" has towards the Express ). Diamond didn't give it much thought though: he opened the bottom-most shelf of his work desk and put inside whatever got in his hands, treating the process like a puzzle where he had to fill in the limited space with available shapes. Then, he slipped his business card in and unceremoniously wrote his personal number on the card's front. The black numbers lined perfectly in Diamond's elegant handwriting, contrasting sharply against the off-white coloring of the card that bore his initials as watermark. Once finished, he closed the box, addressed the package like any other, handed it for delivery--- and forgot about it. Only the tracking system text he got when the gift was delivered reminded him of it. *** [ here's the snacks you ordered, ms raccoon ( i blame tumblr if formatting breaks ) ]
RACCOON DAY !! || always accepting
âăă¨ăăłăâ  it was a day after raccoon day, and the said SPACE RACCOON had spent the day itself running about enjoying herself and demanding attention from those she was fond of. it was all good fun ! when she returned back to the ASTRAL EXPRESS, however, there was a big box in front of her room. a delivery that came for her while she was out on her little adventure. pom-pom said that it was an express delivery straight from the IPC. her first thought was a certain executive with green-colored stone for a namesake, especially when the box itself was wrapped up so neatly with a golden bow, even !
she lifted up the box, almost dropping it from how heavy it was and tried to shake it. the content inside did not move, however. whoever packed it must've been thorough to make sure everything lined up neatly. the STELLARON VESSEL took the box into her room after march had made a comment or two regarding how she should be more careful in accepting gifts from anyone working for the IPC. not that the trailblazer listened to her, though.
eden spent almost ten minutes just trying to unpack the box itself. it was a THREE-LAYERED protection of boxes, lined and cushioned properly with fluffy pouches looking like big, fluffy marshmallows. she kept those, too, thinking how they look fun to be thrown around later. when she finally got to the inner-most box containing the actual goods, the selection of questionable⢠snacks showed themselves to her, causing her AUREATE ORBS to widen in awe.
so many exotic goods in here ! her gloved digits picked them up one by one, the mineshrooms probably would be confiscated if any of the crew knew about them. she was going to keep that for later ! the limited edition tuskpir roll in elegant and unique pattern already made her mouth water. she took a whiff of it, then putting it aside to share with both march and dan heng. holding up the packet of the trick snack, she canted her head to the side. it wasn't any fruits she had seen in her travel before either. that's impressive.
she made a mistake of immediately popping one of the sour dreams soft candy into her mouth, only for her face to CAVE IN from how extremely sour it was she was screaming internally. good aeons !! that was sour !! one of the chocolate-dipped ' pineapples ' was consumed to counter the sourness. the sweet taste saved her tastebuds at least. oh. so this was what pineapple tasted like ? she remembered seeing one in the simulated universe but couldn't taste it. what a gem. a weird one, of course, but still a gem. the sugar-coated fish eye looked like it'd be good for a PRANK against march, too. she was going to keep that for later.
she had a piece of MOO-MOO YOGURT COOKIES in her mouth when she picked up the business card and saw the handwriting in bold black ink. there was an instant ( but unconscious ) change in the way her auric hues were when she realized it was not the blond gambler who sent all of these. that actually made sense to her, in a way. while the blond was someone who could acquire many things, the assorted of snacks gifted to her was something so INCREDIBLY RARE that not even aventurine could've acquired. was this his personal collection, she wondered. the TRAILBLAZER remembered mentioning to him how she wanted to taste some unique snacks from many worlds and planets.
" heh ... he actually broke out his secret stash. " all for her. well, he actually got high points going for him with this. there was a scent of his cologne attached to the card and some of snacks packet. she recognized it from the last time they met. a quiet, amused hum escaped her lips. if she had a tail, it'd be wagging back and forth in delight. she flipped the card about slightly, golden orbs locked to the numbers on the card and she paused for a moment. the peculiar snacks were sprawled all over her bed, and she reached for yet another piece of chocolate-dipped pickled pineapples.
[ to : đ ] [ got your package. i'll give you a personal review of each and every single one of them later. the moo-moo yogurt cookie is nice. the chocolate-dipped pineapples too. you have some nice collection here. ] [ thank you, i'll be sure to savor all of them. happy belated raccoon day to you. ]
she paused for a bit, before another text chimed into his phone.
[ to : đ ] [ if you don't hear from me for a while, it's probably because of the mineshroom. ]
the ASTRAL EXPRESS would then see the stellaron vessel handing out some suspicious snacks later. the business card with his handwriting was kept neatly on the small table next to her bed.

HIGH ON FIRE - Cometh The Storm

All of the things + all of the feels
This was I think, one of my favorite birthdays.. but also one of my least favorite birthdays too. My absolutely best gifts, without question were gifts that can't even be seen! (By the ordinary eye) and I've been on the verge of these gifts for so long. Like- can't even tell you how long. Or how much time and effort that went into trying to articulate the energy before me, as if to consolidate its presence-- according to the company I'm keeping- and how the energy flows very freely and cool sometimes.. and other times, how the weighted astral restrictions from the stars refract the essence of our energies and bring forth something concrete â¨Before my birthday, I was suddenly looking at my birth chart. This suddenly caught my attention and I spent some of my free time looking at certain points- although I've always got access to this, I never actually look into things.. because why would I?! Ya know? I don't want to know too much.. and spoil the surprise.. and in some ways I still question some things that bound to happen. So all of the immense stretching and stringing my energy along finally paid off. I woke up on my birthday with this like ability to communicate with the energy in a way that I had not gotten to yet on my journey. So I was already very excited and it wasn't even 8:00 yet! So I kept the idea that with this - I could maybe lean into things a little bit more.. go a little bit deeper than I have so far.. and it's all for a reason. I can grasp at the reason, and muse about certain things; but let's be real. Some things are just too good to be true sometimes. So I meditated and boy did I get more than I bargained for on that meditation. I completely saw something that I expected to be something.. because it felt like absolutely everything. Everything & then some actually.. but as a lot of good things, it came to an end I think during that meditation.. because now I just think it's absolutely nothing, rather than something.
one thing is like the traveling a certain way.. and I know my way, but part of my path is to express myself and like, declare what I want.. almost in a Pam like way when she tells the bartender that she got the wrong beer and she musters the courage to do so and is like so proud of herself.. it's like that energy.. except as Karen put it, "Pam's.. kind of.. a . . B*tch.. " I kind of am traveling the way of asserting myself I guess? Idk I can word this better.. but essentially, my path ties into my new energetic gifts because I found a new way to not only communicate, but also how to articulate the communication. Everything ties together. All directions point back to one. The one. "Never stray from the way." Prior to my birthday, I had bouts of little moments that stirred in my mind.. and then came piping hot, into my reality. .
I guess to explain exactly what's going on, without actually saying exactly what's going on, I'll tell you a story.
Once upon a time, I was in 9th grade and it was the very beginning of the year. I went to my world history class and at the front of the class I found myself at the desk of someone named Cannon. Now, for privacy sake, unlike on TikTok, I will only share that first name here, not his whole name lol. Ah! Getting ahead of myself.. ignore the potential relevance of that TikTok comment. .
as we were: 9th grade and this kid has on a green wristband. I remembered pointing it out and acknowledging it because I did in fact think it was cool. (It was like a 100%cotton wristband and those are so soft!) Well, Cannon thought I was making fun of him at first .. so then, that pointed me in the direction of actually making fun of him.. and one of the things I joke about was how would he ever get a girlfriend if he wore a wristband even though he wasn't an athlete.. and the energy was suddenly different between us. We were in a class with twenty-something other kids who were all having their own loud conversations- but none of it mattered- because suddenly the energy had changed - and the drop in that frequency can be felt- even felt among however many other people occupy the same space - all of the noise is just magically filtered out.. it's like when time stands still almost? So that's when he dropped the ball on me.. which is funnier to me than you the audience because part of our convo entailed basketball.. but once he responded, I remember being different afterwards. Like in a good way. Where, on a higher level, we both did our Soul work and it felt good. He told me he didn't need to be an athlete because he was incredibly smart. I was so blind sided I looked over to the smartest guy I knew at the time. Stuart just shook his head in agreement that Cannon was as smart as he let on. I remember that being so impressive to me. I mean, if you saw him on that day when we were in 9th grade. Messy hair. Sweaty hair at that. Haha this is a good memory. I'm really good a visualizing so a lot is coming as I write this and it's very nice. The point is I had this memory come to me last week sometime. This memory came because out of the blue his name came to mind and I sat with the energy for a minute.. but not too long. Over the weekend, someone I follow on TikTok asks couples on the street of NYC if they are dating. If they are, they share their story. I watch on video and see a guy who looks very close to Marshall in How I met your mother.. and I was just happy to watch the cute video of how they fell in love and what they were most excited about.. at the very end, the host asks their names.. and sure enough, it was Cannon.
Yes I have a joke about how much is happening in my life inwardly + outwardly and how funny Spirit is with their messages.. "Can't interfere.. it's a cannon event."
I have more stories like this..
but the gist is that there is more work to do. I just have to continue to go through the motions. As I was just shown, certain things that seem scary or will be too hard to do, may not be that difficult at all. . And that is exciting.. but I think the number one thing now is to actually set a gym routine that works for me. This energy has to be harnessed or it will just sway away

Happy anniversary Grace! Released August 23, 1994 đˇ Merri Cyr
What were you aiming to achieve musically when you went in to record Grace and are you happy with the results?
Just to express, just to make a record of pure expression. Am I happy? Well...well, it's uh, it...Grace...a record that you make is something that changes and shifts and I am something that changes and shifts and I'm gonna have to really be a mature human being and say against all my sensibilities, yes, I'm pleased but I'm horribly self critical. I'm horrible. So sometimes I'll just say "oh this is the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen in my life, blah, blah, blah," but I won't...I mean, but because Mickey and Matt and Michael are on it, I can't really say that 'cause they do...I'm so proud of them. It's alright, you know, it's alright, I just can't wait til the next one. I can make a better record than Grace.-interview in Paris for Rock Rush, September 22, 1994
.
.
.
The next album will probably be more joyful but this time, it was impossible...You can be cute, funny, generous, there's always the danger of a break-up in a love relationship. No one is safe. Grace, this is the album of a jealous, poor guy who just got dumped."-Les Inrockuptibles, October, 1994
.
.
.
"I know the next album will be a very different kind of workâeven more direct than Grace, but bigger in scope. If people were confounded by the range of the first album, they'll probably run to it as a safe haven in light of what's to come.
"I can see it nowâ'The amazing, beautiful disaster pastiche of Grace is totally lost in Buckley's newest work.' We haven't started recording it yet and already I'm bored with the reviews."-Now magazine, 27 Oct, 1994
.
.
.
I mean, I hope people don't get too attached...no, that's impossible...hope the media and the wheels that turn don't get too attached to Grace. 'Cause you know, it's out and you know, I just want to make another one and another one and we've grown so much already, we've completely mashed that album into the ground.
Is what you're saying is you don't want them to want you to do another album like Grace? Because the next one will be different?
No, no, no, no...I mean just like...uh, yeah, you know...I don't know, what is it? I just...
You know how sometimes the company will say "oh that one was so good, so do it again"?
Nah, the company is like the least of my problems actually in that respect 'cause they know everything's growing and the people I deal with are very happy and pleased as they say in the music biz. They know where I'm coming from but it's just like in another interview...um, we've evolved, and we'll keep on evolving, I mean like radically. Like radically. And Grace is, Grace is just a completely different work unto itself, it's a box where I put things in my past that have made made my past live, in a box, away.
So you're done with certain things?
Yeah, in a way. But on to new things. It doesn't mean that I'll completely eskew, or astew, or get rid of, whatever that word is, get rid of the old things, it's just that I like the present so much.
How do you feel when you listen to those tunes and how they were recorded?
Sometimes we can't listen to 'em and sometimes we're totally in love with 'em-WDET, October 31, 1994
.
.
.
The New York Times has called "Grace" the best debut record to come along since Tracy Chapman's in 1988. "I can't listen to it anymore," said Buckley, 26. "The songs have changed. I like it, but it is sort of like looking at baby pictures."-Salt Lake Tribune, November 10, 1994
.
.
.
What about Grace? So many people, at least in France, the press is all unanimous, your records are selling, it's a masterpiece...what do you think about it now?
'Massively beautiful album'...somebody gave us a rush of a commercial, that was supposed to go out on the TV and I hope it doesn't make it: 'Grace, it's unanimous, blah, blah, blah...' Not that's bad, but it's just a first album and we've really grown since then and it just doesn't make sense that it seems to have this kind of impact, commercially. The people who really...you know, like...I don't know, I'm sick of magazines, I can't even buy them anymore, just tired of 'em, they don't say anything. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm whining, and maybe I am, but it's just...it's boring man, I'd rather go to the gig. Now there'll be people who will come out with something else and people will say 'obviously lacking the splenderous chaos of Grace, this new album falls short...' I can hear the reviews already and I'm totally bored. I hope that people just calm down really. Actually our fans are pretty normal, they're pretty cool, they're pretty calm about the whole thing. But the media seems to...you know, the media, the rock critics they've lambasted plenty of brilliant friends of mine which just shows me they have no taste whatsoever, and usually in most cases. Just totally destroyed people who've made great work. And then this comes along and 'this obviously is the thing,' how am I supposed to trust that? I can only trust my friends, and my band, and the people that come.-interview for Top Live in Paris, February 15, 1995
.
.
.
Praise has been especially glowing in England, where the respected pop monthly Mojo named "Grace" the album of the year and Q magazine hailed it as "an enthralling, endlessly playable piece of work...the missing link between (Van Morrison's) 'Astral Weeks' and (Nirvana's) 'Nevermind.' Isn't Buckley flattered? "Of course I am," he says, shifting in his chair as if annoyed at himself for admitting it. "At the same time, I'm not 'Grace.' That album is like a brick onto itself. It's like a coffin that I put certain feelings and observations in so that they can be capsulized forever. I wanted to put them there so I would be free to move on.-Los Angeles Times, February 19, 1995
.
.
.
âI just thought it should link this album to my past a little,â he said at the time. âGrace is like...a lot of this stuff ... I don't know how to describe it to you...It's just a bunch of things about my life that I wanted to put in a coffin and bury forever so I could get on with things.
"On the outside of that you can say that I find great joy in the things that are sad. That's the way emotions are in people. They fall down on you and there's no way to get out, except to go through it. There's no way you can control it, there's no essay you can write to answer yourself out of it. It just soaks you like the rain. There's nothing you can do. Then it's gone and then another comes around. But tears are not all I deal with. I'll leave that to the next album.â-Juice, February, 1996

Well, I don't know about you but I have watched Caduceus' conversations with Beau and Lucien about a dozen times each so let's compare and contrast.
So, the conversation with Beau highlights how far both of them have come since Caduceus joined the party. Beau is, dare I say it, downright gentle in her poking and prodding Caduceus' reactions. She's approaching Caduceus both from a place of concern and a place of equality; she doesn't feel the need to try to control the conversation or to find some angle to work. She pulls straight from Yasha's playbook back in the dance hall, making me wonder just how much of Caduceus and Yasha's conversation she actually got (that Observant feat is no joke, y'all). Beau approaches with a thank you for the healing, which by itself shows her growth, she acknowledges that she needed the help and is openly appreciative of it, then asks how Caduceus is doing. She gives him time and space to answer rather than impatiently jumping the gun, acknowledges his feelings, lightly prods his previous trauma, then finds a plan that everyone can presumably live with. She tries to speak Caduceus' language of fate, myth, and religion by harkening back to the Kiln and she lets him go when heâs obviously done. All in all, it is an amazing display of just how far asshole rebel without a cause, abrasive as fuck Beauregard Lionett has come. Props to her and Marisha.
But this meta is about Caduceus so let's talk about his growth. Because guys. Guys. If you need evidence that Caduceus has grown and let some of his walls down, this is it. He tells Beau he âdoesn't like thisâ and goes as far as he can to explain what specifically is messing with him. Not only is this thing unnatural, it is a mockery of life. They are not alive, not truly, they go against everything he stands for. He expresses his desires clearly and plainly, âI want to burn it on the way out.â He acknowledges the rifts between himself and the others, then explains his thought process clearly and completely: that they are low on resources, that they might have to fight their way out anyway and the sooner they leave the better, and that he doesn't think the crest will just break. Anyone want to take a gander at the last time Caduceus laid out his deal like this? Trick question, he really hasn't. He has had a couple of moments where he talks out an idea but he rarely goes this in depth. Speaking this directly and specifically on his feelings and opinions just doesn't happen very often. For all that Caduceus believes other people need to talk about their feelings, he is very much a doer, not a talker, he doesnât process that way. Caduceus doesnât explain himself as a rule yet here he is, trying as hard as he can to make Beau understand.Â
Contrast that conversation with his talk with Lucien. So, first of all, we know that Caduceus loathes what Lucien is trying to accomplish and has nothing but contempt towards the city and efforts to bring it back to the Material Plane. At best, Caduceus pities Lucien; heâs willing to believe that Lucien Knows Not What He Does and is being manipulated by the city. At worst, well, thereâs always a plant that needs compost and Caduceus is more than happy to make some. He tells Beau this episode that âthereâs something very wrong with your friend.â Yet Caduceus does what he always does when faced with an unknown, currently non-hostile threat- he starts with polite small talk. From the Gentleman to Avantika, from Ludinus to Essek, from pirates to stone giants to yetis, Caduceusâ default mode for dealing with threats is to play nice and polite and to figure out what information he can glean to use against them. People underestimate Caduceus right up until he reads them for filth and he totally pushes that polite, harmless image.
Now, I need some nervous nellies to pause and ask themselves why in the world Caduceus would âopen upâ to Lucien mere seconds after threatening the man. Because that is what his comment âIâve never met anybody who looks like you before. For the record,â is. It is as close to a threat as Caduceus will ever utter. And if you donât believe me, please rewatch the Roasting of Trent Ickithon and then watch this conversation again; Caduceus has the exact same polite bitch face energy there that he does here. Well, there, he was scolding Ickithon, here he is straight up warning Lucien. I also need you all to remember that conversation he just had with Beau, the one where he delves into specifics and keeps pushing himself until Beau understands where heâs coming from. This conversation is not that. Caduceus spends this entire conversation playing into Lucienâs expectations and dodging around his real intent up here.Â
Actually, letâs talk about his âIâm confusedâ bit here. Heâs not confused about his ultimate goal. Caduceus has been driving the âwe have to stop the Astral Sea Cityâ train from the literal moment it showed up. Heâs the one who saw the Abyss stare back at them, heâs the one who insisted they ask Yussa, who asked Beau push her Cobalt Soul resources, who asked the literal Mother of All Nature for answers, whoâs pushing for Essekâs help. Him, not the others. Hell, boy was asking Jester to ask the Traveler what the hell is going on, that is how anti-city heâs been this entire time. He knows what needs to be done, the question in the air is how. This changed because the Neinâs circumstances changed; they now have a crest and Lucien caught up to them much faster than they anticipated. Are they supposed to let Lucien summon the thing and take it out? Or is it better to wait for him to gather all the items and destroy them so they can never be used? Whatâs stopping the next guy from coming up here and doing the ritual themself? And what precisely is he supposed to do about Lucien and Molly? It speaks highly of Taliesinâs roleplay skills and the consistency with which heâs played Caduceus that Matt never once called for a deception check, despite the fact that Matt knows that Caduceus is directly opposed to Lucien and his goals AND is hiding that information. Taliesin and Caduceus danced so skillfully around that fact, it was a delight to watch.
Bottom line, Caduceus is very good at feigning vulnerability to get what he wants or to come off as a lesser threat. He told the Gentleman a bit about his worry for his family to induce the man to reconcile with Jester. He expressed his confusion and worry to the Nein and Essek at that dinner. Seriously, go watch those conversations and then go back to the Lucien conversation, itâs kind of eerie how well that playbook works. That pseudo-vulnerability was in direct service in getting the other person to do what Caduceus wanted them to do, it was not shared just because or in any real meaningful fashion. Both of those instances were direct manipulation tactics he learned at the Grove, comforting the bereaved. People are more comfortable sharing their issues and worries, after all, when you give them a little morsel of your own. People build a rapport around perceived sharing of vulnerabilities. People are more likely to do what you want when you have such a rapport. And thatâs precisely what Caduceus did here; he didnât tell Lucien anything Lucien didnât know or couldnât guess himself, he traded a small nugget about his own confusion for Lucienâs curiosity and it worked. The Tomb Takers and the Mighty Nein are stuck together for the foreseeable future and I for one canât wait to see what growth awaits Caduceus next.
TL;DR: Caduceus has only ever been really openly vulnerable with the Nein, the rest is playing possum. Please donât fall for it or worry that heâs actually unloading onto strangers when heâs actually unloaded quite a lot, for him at least, on his friends and loved ones. His growth is undeniable.

My take on why Caleb doesnât trust Astrid and Eadwulf
Why does Caleb not trust Astrid even though she helped the M9 multiple times by now and let them leave? Well, Liam has always kept good track of what happened in previous episodes of the campaign and I believe Caleb was drawing information from all his previous encounters with Astrid and Eadwulf, so here is just some highlights on what they know about them so far. This is another long post. Again, all quotes are not exact and straight from my memory. This is just my biased personal interpretations so take it as you will.
To illustrate my points, I recommend that you watch the Narrative Telephone episode Widogastâs Web of Words. It described the three of them this way:
1. Eadwulf as the boy whose mind was eaten, and he had âno mind of his ownâ.
2. Astrid as the girl whose eye was cut out, and she ânever saw true againâ.
3. Caleb as the boy whose heart was swallowed he ânever knew love againâ.
1. Eadwulf: From all the interactions we have seen with Eadwulf in it, he always appeared to defer to Astrid/Trent and this very much reminded me of the âno mind of his ownâ aspect. He âlooks to Astridâ for what to do for multiple situations, and is clearly pretty content to be a follower. Otherwise, Eadwulf didnât get to interact with Caleb a lot in general so to Caleb he must still be kind of an enigma. Whenever Eadwulf did answer Calebâs questions he seemed like he was pretty content in his role as a Volstrucker as well and was pretty nonchalant about his job (basically talking about it like a summer job and very casually) without showing any hesitancy about what he does/carrying out his missions. His apparent association with the Raven Queen fascinates me and I donât think Caleb knows what to make of that either. So far from what weâve seen, Eadwulf clearly still cares about Caleb but also has lost some capacity to think for himself due to the trauma and abuse he suffered. This may also be why Eadwulf could be harder to reach than Astrid in a sense. So far, he has not given any indicator that he doesnât believe in Trentâs system.
2. Astrid: ânever saw true againâ gave me the impression of her being âblindâ to what is actually right and the true nature of Trentâs system, and given the evidence so far Caleb is right to think she is still buying into Trentâs ideology. When Caleb went to Astridâs house to talk with her, she apologized and Caleb made a very high insight check. Astrid was âgenuinely mournful for his painâ but there is also something âhardenedâ in her that was more like a âIâm sorry that you have suffered, as many people have, life is suffering and sometimes it is necessaryâ. Clearly, she on some level believe that what they are doing as Volstruckers to be the right thing. She said she felt guilty about her actions sometimes, but did believe that they were making a necessary sacrifice to protect the rest of the empire. Caleb even remarked that âhe blinded youâ. Basically, Astrid thought that Trentâs system and ideology is a necessary evil that is ultimately good for the empire because the Volstrucker does hard things so civilians can be safe. However, there is doubt in her, especially since Caleb continued to try to reach her. She made a remark at the dinner episode, something like âwhat we did was for the greater good... right?â and she sounded uncertain. I do think changing her mind would be easier and she may have started to see the flaw in Trentâs system already. As of right now though, Astrid seems to be already training other Volstruckers (I could be wrong, but she mentioned âtutelageâ) and Caleb/Liamâs comment about her buying into the system is clearly not mistaken based on what we have seen from her so far.Â
She is also ambitious in a sense that she wants to replace Trent, and she keeps reminding Caleb of that (ârace you to the topâ, âhe is just an old man...â, âit could be an opportunity if you struck firstâ). She sees Caleb as an opportunity (I think Matt confirmed something about it or about her ambition when the Traveler was analyzing Astrid but canât quite remember). She clearly doesnât like Trent, and wants Trent gone, but it doesnât mean she doesnât believe in Trentâs system (all evidence suggests she does still buy into it). She also likely wants to use Caleb to further her own goals, and like Fjord said ânot in an evil wayâ but that Caleb defying Trent would be very beneficial/convenient for her own goals. She clearly still cares about Caleb a lot and is happy to see him again, and like I said, this doesnât mean she is trustworthy. Calebâs concern is mostly what Astrid would do if she does replace Trent and he is right to assume things wouldnât change much given Astridâs belief in the system right now (her mindset of âVolstruckers are necessary and they do the dirty work so the empire can thriveâ). Her helping M9 doesnât really cancel out her ideology, it just shows that she genuinely cares for Caleb. Furthermore, so far Calebâs presence is good for her goals. We donât really know what she would do if Caleb appears more a threat than a benefit to her ambitions one day.Â
So far, Caleb is the first one to break away from Volstruckers and I do think that gives Astrid hope that Trent can be taken down, but she could very well want to keep the program around if she ever gets in charge after Trent. She is very much dangerous, ambitious, conflicted and fascinating. Her caring for Caleb is clearly not all of her character, she has her own plots and I love her for it (thanks Liam for developing this character) and I love how Matt portrays her.
3. Caleb:Â another reason why Caleb may not trust his âold friendsâ is that his heart has very much been broken. âHe never knew love againâ is an apt description. This is more just interpretation from my part, but I think Caleb has partially lost his ability to trust others and he doesnât trust anyone outside the M9, his immediate found family and their extended families (it took him a LONG time to trust them as well). Honestly? He is for the most part right to not trust people so far (exhibit A: Essek reveal) and all his paranoia from early episodes have come true, so I would not be surprised that this one does as well. [I wanted to use Yussa as a counter argument for trusting people then I remembered they trusted him with the knowledge of Aeor and he proceeded to yeet himself into the astral sea in 48 hours (the poor man).]Â
So yeah, reason 3 is that Caleb is just not a very trusting individual in general. He has expressed that he loved Astrid and Eadwulf, but that feeling has of course faded after more than a decade of not seeing them. He does still care for the both of them, but he does not - and should not - trust them to want to reform the Volstrucker system and change the Empire the way that Caleb wants it changed.Â
Now there is clearly still hope that Eadwulf and Astrid can change their mind, especially if Caleb keeps reaching out. Astrid has already shown some hesitancy and reconsideration. They also both helped the M9. I do believe that it is possible for them to eventually see Trentâs system as it is, and they have the capacity to change for the better. Right now though? Yeah, they are still pretty much buying into Trentâs system as far as I can tell. Helping M9, caring for Caleb and wanting Trent dead are separate issues and have nothing to do with what they believe in ideology-wise. I really hope that Caleb does make it back and gets to try reaching out to them again after the whole city thing is dealt with. I am very excited to see where both of these characters will go. They are very complex and fun to think about.

Post 2x109 Thoughts
So Eiselcross was a floating pre-Calamity city, and thereâs a living city in the Astral Sea. Â And Age of Arcanum stuff has been popping up throughout the campaign, from the Happy Fun Ball to the beacons...
What if, immediately before or during the Calamity, a group of mages from another city saw what happened to Eiselcross, and decided to plane shift their own city to the Astral Sea for safety? Â Only something went wrong and the city became alive. Â Maybe it absorbed the lives of everyone in it, or the mages merged with the city and became one with it. Â Or maybe the city was already sentient from so much magic happening in and around it. Â Maybe it recognized the destruction of its fellow cities and saw the calamity to come, and removed itself from the Material Plane. Â And of course thatâs terrifying to any creatures in the Astral Sea, a living city full of unbelievably powerful mages that suddenly appeared in their plane? Â Iâd run like hell. Â
The nine eyes...maybe part of a magical ritual in moving the city?  Nine components that powered the spell...or maybe nine anchors keeping the city in the Astral Sea?  Maybe the city didnât go willingly, but was banished by someone, and the nine âeyesâ are magical locks.  Thereâs a saying, âeyes are the window to the soul.â  How many beacons are there in Exandria?  We know of five, but that doesnât mean thatâs all the ones there are.  Like Essek said, thereâs so much that the Dynasty doesnât know/hasnât bothered to research about the beacons.  No one knows the full extent of their capabilities.  They can hold and bring back souls, what else can they hold and potentially bring back?  And we have so many NPCs who have repeatedly expressed interest in exploring the beaconâs other possible capabilities.  What are you hinting at, Matthew?  What else can the beacons do?
What if the living city is the âLord of Lightâ that the Kryn Dynasty believes in?  They believe the Luxon brought life to the world by its destruction, and the beacons are the parts of its body.  Maybe a myth grounded in a real event?  The city appears to be âdestroyedâ during, or even before, the Calamity, with the beacons being the only thing that remains.  The beacons are able to facilitate consecution (that is, rebirth and life), which becomes a central pillar of Dynasty belief and culture.  In all the chaos of the Calamity, the origin story for the beacons becomes mythologized, especially by a newly emergent Xhorhas forging itself from the legacy of Ghor Dranas. Â
Thereâs been a theme of powerful and ambitious mages this campaign. Â From Yussa to Halas to Trent Ikithon and the whole Academy, even Essek, and of course, weâre watching Caleb becoming a powerful mage himself. Â And apart from Allura, theyâre all very ambitious, even arrogant at times, and are interested in world-altering level magics. Â The Age of Arcanum was full of mages like them. Â And repeatedly, weâve been warned about how dangerous their projects are. Â What if Matt is setting the stage for Calamity 2: Electric Boogaloo? Â Someone experiments with the beacons in just a particular enough way, and the city -the Luxon?- returns. Â And weâve already seen what happens when something (relatively) smaller like Vokodo breaks through the planes. Â A whole magical, living city smashing through reality? Â What effect does that have on the Material Plane? Â And if a hole is made, what else can come through?

If Danganronpa: Another Despair Academy had an English cast
So I recently made a post very similar to this where I talked about who a hypothetical English voice cast for Our World Is Ended would be. I kind of enjoyed making that post, so I decided to do something similar with the cast of a Danganronpa fan game that has been featured prominently on my chanel and thatâs the Danganronpa: Another series. Being a Korean fan game, the original dub of Danganronpa Another has barely any dialogue to speak of. In fact, the only two characters in the series who speak often are Yuki and Sora, the protagonists of the two games, but thatâs when theyâre in trials. As of right now, a group of people is working on an English dub for the second game. This is why Iâm specifically going to talk about the first game in the series, and bare in mind 2 things.
1) There will be some pretty heavy spoilers that I talk about in this post, so if youâre going to read it, please play the game, watch a playthrough or read up on it first.
2) If by any chance the first game gets a dub and the following people I do mention end up voicing the characters, I assure you it is purely coincidental. I wouldnât even call this a hypothetical scenario so much as Iâd call it a basic thought process of my weird weird mind.
Without further ado, letâs begin.
Yuki Maeda: Yuri Lowenthal

In the current dub for the second game, Yuki is being voiced by a user by the name of Soluri, who is pretty talented in their right, but my thought process for an alternative voice actor would be this. Yuki as a protagonist takes a very similar standing as Makoto Naegi and Hajime Hinata, whom are voiced by Bryce Papenbrook and Johnny Yong Bosch respectively, so if I was given a choice to choose who could voice act him, then I think Yuri Lowenthal would be a fitting choice, since heâs also often voiced protagonists. Being someone who often does work in famous franchises, his voice work includes Marth from Fire Emblem, Yosuke Hanamura in Persona, Ben Tennyson in many Ben 10 works, Klavier Gavin in Ace Attorney, Simon in Gurren Lagann and Suzaku from Code Geass. However, heâd also be a fitting choice since I believe heâd be able to do a good job as both the somwhat cowardly and submissive Yuki as well as the mysterious and somewhat stoically dangerous Utsuro, as he is also the main VA for Sasuke in Naruto and Alucard in Castlevania.Â
Akane Taira: Monica Rial

Akaneâs basic character throughout the majority of the game is that sheâs lighthearted and even though the killing game is getting to her just as much as everyone else, she still finds a way to lighten the atmosphere, and is a usually cheery and kind person, if a little scary when angry. However, her true nature is something much more freakish, being, in actuality, the mastermind behind the aforementioned killing game that she spends a lot of the game seemingly fighting against. For an English VA, I think the best bet is Monica Rial, who has previously voiced in Danganronpa as Sayaka Maizono in the Danganronpa anime. The reason for my choice is she has previously voiced usually nice, if a little stern, characters like Bulma from Dragon Ball, Tsuyu Asui from My Hero Academia, May Chang from Full Metal Alchemist, Tsubaki from Soul Eater, Kayano from Assassination Classroom, Mirajane Strauss from Fairy Tale and Sakura from CardCaptor Sakura. However, sheâs not one to shy away from maniacal villains, or generally creepy characters either, also voicing Tanya from Saga of Tanya the Evil, Krul Tepes from Seraph of the End or Stocking from Panty and Stocking. Also doing the voice of Misaki Ayuzawa from Maid Sama and Mey-rin in Black Butler, sheâs not new to voicing maid characters.
Tsurugi Kinjo: Crispin Freeman

Having already done voice work in a main Danganronpa game, albeit for a very unlikable character, I ruled out Matthew Mercer for this one. I can only really describe Tsurugi as the Nagito Komaeda of this series. He has good intentions, but a really messed up way of thinking, even at times quite self-deprecating and reflecting on his own incapabilities to stop the killing game and catch the mastermind. Like I already said, he seems like heâd be voiced by a deep voiced character like Matt Mercer, but when it comes to characters like that, Crispin Freeman is a safe bet. Some of the rightous and/or badass characters that heâs lent his voice to include Winston from Overwatch, Kyon in the Haruhi Suzumiya series, Tsume in Wolfâs Rain and more, but can also do a pretty good crazy character every once in a while, like Alucard from Hellsing, Itachi Uchiha from Naruto and Firefly in the Batman Arkham Series.
Rei Mekaru: Laura Post

Admittedly, I was considering Monica Rial for this crude and shrewd character too. Mature and professional to a fault, barely showing any sort of real emotion and often insulting the other killing game participants for seemingly no reason, Rei is basically Another 2â˛s Byakuya Togami, intelligent, but rude. Having previously voiced condescending characters, Laura Post is a pretty good choice. Iâm referring mostly to characters like Kill La Killâs Ragyo Kiryuin and Fubuki/Blizzard from Hell from One Punch Man, as well as Diana Cavendish from Little Witch Academia and one of her first ever performances, Queen Nehelenia from Sailor Moon. However, Laura Post has also voiced rather gentle and friendly characters before, which would be a good way to highlight Reiâs secret soft side. Characters like Nozomi Tojo from Love Live and her most recent role, Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5 Royal.
Haruhiko âHaruâ Kobashikawa: Sam Riegal
The minute I was introduced to him, I immediately thought, âOk, heâs going to be the Kazuichi of this game isnât he?â And to be honest, I donât think I was that far off. However, even so, he seems more like Kaito if Kaito wasnât necessarily a central character. Haruâs important, but heâs on the same level of importance as a character like say...Game 1 Toko. A sociable person whoâs only goal is to get along well with everyone, heâs cheerful, laid back and more often than not pretty amusing to watch. Someone I believe to be fit for the role, having previously voiced a repertoire of pretty dorky and likeable characters, is Sam Riegal. By that, I mean heâs done the voice work of Teddy from Persona, Phoenix Wright in Ace Attorney, Emperor Awesome in Wander of Yonder, Kanata from Trinity Universe, Shirou Emiya from Fate/Stay Night and Donatello in a large number of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles works.
Teruya Otori: Kyle McCarly
Teruya is a character that returns for the second game, and his voice actor in that is NuzikVA. I was really stuck on this one, since Yuri Lowenthal, whom I picked for Yuki, was my main option for Teruya too, but my second option for him would be just as viable. One of Teruyaâs most important aspects to his character is that he has a pretty unique western accent despite being Japanese, since his Ultimate Merchant talent means heâs travelled the world and picked up on a few things. On top of that, heâs pretty adorkable and a little childish. Iâve heard Yuri Lowenthal do accents before, which is why I considered it, but I figured anything Yuri Lowenthal can do, Kyle McCarly can do just as well, if not better. Heâs a voice actor whoâs lines are packed full of expression and some of his previous work includes 9S from Neir: Automata, Hyde in Cross Tag Battle, Hal in Astral Chain, Gatekeeper in Fire Emblem Three Houses and Narancia in JoJo Part 5.
Satsuki Iranami: Deva Marie Gregory
While she was a character that I found initially very irritating and she was definitely the one I had to warm to the most, I wonât deny that Satsuki Iranami is like 70% of the humour and happiness in this game. Similarly to Ibuki, she tends to act childish and make jokes in very tense situations and as described by Yuki as âa person that makes you tired just by talking with herâ or something along those lines. Now, this might seem like a pretty obscure and strange choice for a VA, but my choice for a voice is Deva Marie Gregory. Itâs obscure, since she is relatively new to the voice acting industry, only voicing one character in one franchise so far. However, that character is Flayn from Fire Emblem Three Houses, arguably one of the characters with the more comedic dialogue. I can totally picture her playing an âIn-your-faceâ practical joker character like Satsuki, making common wisecracks, and itâs something Iâd really like to bear witness to.
Mitsuhiro âMitchâ Higa: Joe Brogie
Possibly my least favourite character in this game, heâs essentially a worse version of Leon Kuwata from the first game. Heâs genuinely kind of a chill guy, but his status as the Ultimate Soccer Player and his world fame makes him more than a little arrogant and cocky and often ignores people who he doesnât care for. Joe Brogie is my choice for him, despite being a relatively new voice actor. His previous work includes the player character from God Eater 3, Linus from Fire Emblem Heroes, Donatello from Injustice 2 and Sylvain Jose Gautier from Fire Emblem Three Houses. However, despite his few roles and lacking history of voices, heâs talented and capable nonetheless.Â
Kizuna Tomori: Tia Ballard
Kizuna can be described in the following words: Cutesy, flirtatious and distrustful. I know those phrases sound mutually exclusive to each other, but trust me, itâs true. Obviously, her nature just changes depending on the situation, since sheâs lighthearted and merry more often than not, but in a tense situation becomes suspicious, snappy and even physically violent. I picture her having a high voice, and when taking her character into account, I think the best bet is Tia Ballard. The main reason for my choice is that Tiaâs most common voices belong to generally âmoeâ anime girls, but she voices them in a way that doesnât sound annoyingly high pitched like how Stephanie Sheh does with Mikan in Danganronpa 2. If Ballard voiced Kizuna, she could pretty much perfectly land the âcutesy at first, but angry when provokedâ attitude that Kizuna has. Some of her previous work includes Marron from Dragon Ball, Happy from Fairy Tail, Chiho Sasaki from The Devil is a Part Timer, Takao from D-Frag, Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx and has actually voiced in Danganronpa previously as Daisaku Bandai in Danganronpa 3.
Mikako Kurokawa: Brittany Cox
Extremely similarly to my choice for Satsuki, my choice for Mikako has also only ever been in one game, and itâs the same game as my choice for Satsuki actually. Mikako is a quiet person and she isnât much of a talker, and when she does she sticks to short replies after long periods of silence, often causing people to forget she's around or becoming surprised when she eventually speaks up. She is unresponsive in a conversation and avoids making eye contact with anyone she talks to which seems rude, but her past explains why. The character Brittany Cox plays in Three Houses is Ingrid Galatea, who is generally a pretty merry, if a little serious and motherly, character, whoâs personality isnât a quiet one. However, while her voice acting is really good, Brittany Cox has a bit of a stoic, monotone and quiet voice, that I believe would fit Mikako perfectly.
Kinji Uehara: Robbie Daymond
There were a few reasons why I chose this person for this characters voice, but Iâll talk about those in a moment. Kinji is the good type of priest, one who is serious and quiet, but is a good listener, and respectful of people to a point where he doesnât force his religious ideals onto others. However, when put under immense amounts of pressure, he can break down and turn somewhat psychotic. Hence my choice for his voice actor. Robbie Daymond is a personal favourite of mine, since he has a special talent of playing characters such as Goro Akechi and Hubert Vestra, from Persona and Three Houses respectively; characters who for the most part are calm, reserved, quiet and in Akechiâs case, somewhat kind. However, after certain points in the games stories, the two characters turn inexplicably evil and crazy, and the voice work and the shift in tone has such an amazing range that itâs hard to believe itâs the same guy. Seriously, look up Daymondâs work as Akechi, itâs honestly amazing and is the type of voice Iâd honestly expect for Kinji when he breaks down. Alongside those two roles, Daymond also voices Prompto in Final Fantasy 15, Reinhard in RE:Zero, Professor Willow in Pokemon, Gilthunder in Nanatsu No Taizai and Mumen Rider in One Punch Man.
Kiyoka Maki: Colleen Clinkenbeard
A girl with a personality that doesnât match her talent, Kiyoka Maki is outgoing and carefree and doesnât have an awful lot of care for her talent, being way more interested in more effeminate things than guns. When I first saw Kiyoka and was introduced to her character, for some reason I thought âThis is the type of character Colleen Clinkenbeard would voice.â Originally I was going to cast Clinkenbeard as Teruya before I realised Teruya wouldnât necessarily have a child-like voice. Clinkenbeard however, does have experience of voicing male anime characters, and a lot of characters that scream a lot, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece and Young Gohan being the prime examples. Alongside that, sheâs also voiced another gunslinger in Full Metal Alchemist as Riza Hawkeye, as well as Momo Yaoyorozu in My Hero Academia, Rachel Moore in Case Closed, Erza Scarlet in Fairy Tail and previously in Danganronpa 3 as the loveable Chisa Yukizome.
Ayame Hatano: Karen Strassman
Ayame is a stoic and strong-willed person. Although she appears to be perfectly calm in most situations, she admits that she can be awkward especially during conversations, and as a result, she has a tendency to ramble and wander off in her own, or not talk much at all. To me, she seems like a character that someone like Karen Strassman would lend her voice to, since sheâs played several characters with those personality traits before. To name a few, thereâs Aigis and Nanako from Persona and sheâs also voiced Anna in several Fire Emblem games. Sheâs also played Kallen Stadtfeld in Code Geass, Miyuki Takara in Lucky Star and Rouge the Bat in several Sonic the Hedghog games.
Kanata Inori: Felicia Angelle
I was also considering casting Tia Ballard for this character too, but unlike Kizuna, Kanata genuinely seems like a moe character that would have a high voice. Kanata is a sweet girl who wishes nothing more than the comfort of her patients and everyone else around her. Exceedingly formal and polite, she addresses her classmates as Mr or Ms, like how Hifumi Yamada does in the first game. My choice for her is Felicia Angelle, whoâs repertoire consists of both cute and geeky anime girls, as well a little bit of the scary stuff too. This includes Tohru Hagakure from My Hero Academia, Perona from One Piece, The Supreme Kai of Time from Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Shinoa Hiragi from Seraph of the end, Shaltear from Overlord, Georgie from Maid Dragon and has previously been in the Danganronpa anime, playing Aoi Asahina.
Kakeru Yamaguchi: J Michael Tatum
I have a pretty good reason for this cast. Becoming a legal prodigy when he was quite young, Kakeru is a character who seems to have a split personality, but on a level way less extreme than that of Toko Fukawa. Essentially, heâs usually quite a timid and shy person, that finds it hard to hold a conversation, but when heâs in the courtroom or a class trial, he becomes quite loud and brash in a way similar to that of Nekomaru in the second game. His personality reminds me that of characters like Tenya Iida from My Hero Academia and Rei Ryugazaki from Free! both of whom are voiced by J Michal Tatum, whom is my choice for Kakeru. Tatum has also voiced Zarbon from Dragon Ball, Commander Erwin from Attack on Titan, Rintaro Okabe from Steins:Gate, Scar from Full Metal Alchemist, France from Hetalia and Sebastian from Black Butler.
Yamato Kisaragi: Max Mittleman
Yamato is almost as crazy an inventor as Miu, sans the whole sexual and perverted invention parts. Being a character whoâs introduced a little later into the story, Yamato is pretty quirky, energetic and honestly friendly, but that leads people to be a little doubtful of him, Tsurugi in particular. His energetic character and his genuine feel make me think that someone who could voice him is Max Mittleman. Mittlemanâs previous voices include Plag from Miraculous Ladybug, Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona, Saitama from One Punch Man, King from Natatsu No Taizai, Meruem in HunterXHunter and more
So thatâs what I got. If you liked this, then leave me a heart and repost if you want. If you have any other recommendations for Japanese exclusive projects I should assign voice actors to, then let me know.
