Disclaimer, i havent read stormbringer in a while so if theres any mistakes in my recollection... sorry.

In Stormbringer, if i remember correctly, Chuuya activates Corruption for the first time to take down Guivre, Verlaine's Singularity, and Dazai nullified the corruption afterward. In Stormbringer, Dazai and Chuuya were still in the earlier stages of their partnership, but Chuuya still trusted Dazai to nullify corruption.

Eventually, the trust between them grew and they became known as Soukoku, or Double Black. Dazai fosters the partnership between Atsushi and Akutagawa in an attempt to turn them into Shin Soukoku, the second Double Black. Because of this, there are many parallels between skk and sskk. Both start off disliking each other, but grow over the course of many fights as partners. Soukoku's fight against Verlaine was a turning point in their relationship that allowed that trust to grow, and trust in each other was necessary to defeat the singularity.

Atsushi and Akutagawa are still in the beginning stages of their partnership with each other, but we can see how their relationship evolves throughout BSD. battling the tripolar singularity together by becoming a singularity themselves, learning to understand and trust one another, would be a large milestone in their relationship as Shin Soukoku.

Against each other, against Fitzgerald, in the Rats of the House of the Dead base, against that mf from 55 minutes, against fukuchi... and these fights have helped them understand each other, making them work better together. i saw a post a while ago about how skk is a relationship founded on trust but lack of understanding, fyolai is based on understanding but lack of trust, and sskk is becoming a relationship with both full trust and understanding and like. yeah!! they are learning to trust each other and understand each other!! akutagawa and atsushi are both privy to information about the other that even their respective sides don't know, atsushi's hallucinations and akutagawa's lung illness being the two largest ones.

If understanding is the basis of what allows two people to form a singularity, Atsushi and Akutagawa are almost there. It makes sense for their character development and development as a duo to progress there.

Seiji thought he had everything planned out. He really was sure that there was no way to find him after he ran away from the two detectives. After all, who would search for a running thief in the damn sewers when there were so many better places that could’ve been used to hide in the area?

The plan was in fact a good one, in fact. Kuwahara made it look like he was going towards the warehouses nearby to camp out, while in reality, he came down to the sewers using the ladders, as there was one of the many entrances underground right behind a warehouse.

He was so sure that he wouldn’t be found, that he wasn’t seen, so pray tell, why was he standing face to face with the exact two people he was meant to avoid. This was not what Dazai meant when he said that he would show you how useful your ability can be (you refused more against it being useful than anything else he said about it, so that’s what he settled for), but it kind of worked so he wasn’t complaining.

Kuwahara Seiji, a 25-year-old thief that uses his ability to make himself invisible for all of his plans, making it hard for the police to identify him.

Once the criminal ran away after throwing a smoke bomb on the ground, (The brunet has to give it to him, It was annoying as hell and many people would give up on going after him once the smoke settled down) the two of you had no idea which direction he went off to, as there was a few possible exits from the warehouse you first caught him in.

His solution? Asking you to question a ghost nearby if they saw the man. You were really skeptical about that, he could tell.  What he also noticed was how confused you were about his question. You didn’t understand why he would want that, at least at first. It was soon after that you realized he meant.

You can see invisible things, ghosts can see other invisible individuals as well, rendering Kuwahara’s ability useless when it comes to you chasing him down.

He realized that little advantage of yours some time back while lazing around on his favorite agency couch.

Your ghost acquaintances can be quite the helpers when it comes to investigating stuff. He heard from Kenji, that not too long ago, you had solved a case that was meant to take around a week, in a day, simply because it just so happened that a ghost was on the crime scene when it happened. You had an easy time getting clues and proving the words of the ghost to the police with their help.

He knows that a few times like those won’t stop you from being so negative about your ability, he’s aware of the impact your bullies had on you mentally even if you try to not show it, but all of those instances give you a step forward to seeing what Dazai and the others do.

“Oh c’mon ‘donna! I was the one who gave you the idea of asking someone!”

“We would be able to track him down anyway. Asking someone just made it faster.”

Catching him in the end was not hard at all. Kuwahara tried to sneak away using his ability once again, but you could still see him without him realizing it. You could see where he was walking off to, making it possible for Dazai to nullify the guy's ability and catch him before leading him to the police vehicle near the warehouse you guys were under.

“See? I told you your ability is really useful and fun!”

“Where do you see the fun in my predicament?” He could tell you were just done with him for the day, besides being confused.

─ CHUUYA

Chuuya was just a bit nervous, to say the least, about meeting his future in-laws - or so you would've thought if you hadn't seen his condition. He was panicking. You had never seen this man more scared. To think that many of Yokohama's best gangsters were afraid of this man, you thought.

He immediately booked a reservation for the most expensive restaurant in the city and picked out his best fit, even going as far as buying a whole new dress for you as an "early wedding gift", since you were so sure they'd love him.

And love him, they did. Although he practically had mental breakdowns after every sentence during the first half of his conversation with them, when you squeezed his hand and told him everything was going to be okay, he calmed down and became more at ease.

Chuuya was hesitant about speaking about his career choice. If your parents were natives of Yokohama, they were sure to recognize him by his name too. These insecurities had plagued his mind all day. But in the end, everything had worked out. Chuuya was accepted by your parents and became a new addition to your little family.

When you told Ranpo it was probably time he met your parents, he just shrugged and asked if there'd be extra candy there. However, as soon as he realized the situation, he started panicking.

Meeting your parents? Him? Next week? Why?

Would they like him? Would he be enough for them? What if you had to dump him because they didn't like him? No, that only happened in movies. What if he accidentally embarrassed you? What if he didn't meet their expectations? Would you still love him?

His usually confident demeanour had dissolved and all your parents were met with was a shy, quiet man. After a few unsuccessful conversations, you pulled him aside to have a talk. A little hug and a kiss on the lips seemed to have solved the problem then, and when he returned, he was much more cheerful.

He impressed your father with his knowledge about the latter's various hobbies, and your mother was delighted by how he spoke of her favourite TV shows and series as if he was a huge fan of them.

Ranpo, as well as his love for food, were also welcome when he complimented your mother's cooking, among many other things. Needless to say, you were happy about how he fit in with your family.

Fyodor was always very serious about things like marriage and bonding. So, naturally, he had been looking forward to the meeting with your parents.

Your parents visited your shared house, and they were pleasantly surprised, to say the least. The house was flawless, and your boyfriend, even more.

Although Fyodor had had secret nerve-wrecks here and there, he never actually showed it to you. All you knew was that he had an eerily calm mindset as always. Even in front of your family, he was cool and composed, always saying the right thing at the right time.

He complimented your mother, and she was charmed. He talked about your father's interests, and he was ecstatic. It was as if all of this was too easy for Fyodor. He knew just how to meet and greet people.

Well, of course, your parents loved him; how could they not? He was kind, respectful, smart, witty and knowledgeable. Even though he wasn't as outspoken about his career, and may have lied his way out of their questions a few times, Fyodor seemed like an ideal son-in-law.

Osamu Dazai

Today you and Dazai were tasked with gaining vital information from the Port Mafia. Out of the two of you, you were the one that excelled in physical strength. You were smart too, yes, but not as smart as your boyfriend. He was the one that made hyper intelligent plans while you were the one that carried them out. Together the two of you made an unstoppable duo for the agency.

“It should be here,” you said as you looked at your watch. “We’re early.”

“Ah that’s good news! Now we have time to look around the perimeter just in case there’s an ambush!” He said rather childishly despite how insightful the words he spoke were.

You pressed your ear up to the entrance of the building. You then heard a faint conversation on the other side of the walls. “We can’t. They’re already here.”

Dazai loudly exhaled as he put his hands in his jacket. “Let’s go in then. I want to go home already.”

You nodded as you opened the door. The first thing you saw inside were two grunts holding sophisticated guns. They immediately looked at you and pointed their firearms at you.

“Hey! Can you maybe not point those at us?” You asked, already mildly aggravated.

One of the grunts put down his gun, but the other held his ground. “And what’re you gonna do if I don’t? Kick my feet?”

Dazai decided to step in. “We’re here for the information.”

“Well now I don’t feel like givin’ it to ya!” He pointed a finger at you. “They decided to act like they own the damn place right off the bat! They don’t even look that strong too!”

“Excuse you! I’m very strong!” You raised your voice.

Normally you don’t get mad this easily, but this grunt decided to underestimate you! You absolutely hated it when people did this to you. What was even the point of it?

“Really? ‘Cause you don’t look it!”

Your eye twitched as you turned to Dazai. “May I?”

“Go right on ahead,” he smirked.

You quickly thanked him, then started to approach the grunt. You cracked your knuckles before punching him straight in the face. You felt your knuckles start to slightly bleed, but it was worth it.

The grunt fell onto his ass with a bloody nose. He then looked up at you with fear in his eyes. “You punch like a girl.”

“Oh that’s it!”

You went to kick his side and rough him up further, but you felt a hand on your shoulder. You whipped your head around and was greeted with the sight of Dazai slightly smiling. “That’s enough.”

You sighed as you retreated behind him. Eventually Dazai got the information that the two of you needed, and on the way back you broke out into idle chitchat.

“You know, you’re very strong,” Dazai complimented.

You looked up at him with a small smile. “Ah, thank you. It means a lot coming from you.”

The two of you had eventually reached the agency’s front doors. Dazai grabbed your hand and looked at the blood that was slowly dripping down your knuckles. “We need to get you fixed up.”

You only nodded as he opened the door for you. Today was a good day.

Chuuya Nakahara

Today was Chuuya’s day off and you decided that you wanted to go out on a date with him. It didn’t take him much convincing since the last time the two of you went on a date was weeks ago. He wanted to make up for some lost time. Chuuya felt bad that he couldn’t give you all of the attention you deserved, so this was the least he could do.

You practically dragged him to the restaurant that you made reservations for. You had your arms wrapped around his right arm, making sure to have a secure grip on him.

As you were about to enter the building, you heard some whistling directed towards you. You and Chuuya looked at where the noise was coming from.

A man in his forties was smirking at you. He was wearing an expensive suit and tie, and his hair looked messily slicked back. It made you nauseous.

“What’s a darling little thing like you doing with that short ass, huh?” He asked loudly.

“Short ass?! Listen here buddy, they’re my S/o and I’m—“

“I got this.” You put a hand on your boyfriends shoulder, cutting him off. You then redirected your gaze towards the creep. “This here is my boyfriend, and we were just about to get dinner. Now please leave us alone.”

The male clicked his tongue. “Or what? Are you going to have your boyfriend beat me up since you’re so weak?”

Your grip tightened on Chuuya’s shoulder. Who did this guy think he was?! “He doesn’t need to protect me, but he may need to protect you from me.”

“What, are going to tickle me? Don’t make me laugh!” He exclaimed.

Right as the man finished saying that, you ran towards him and swiped his legs from beneath him. He lost his breath from the fall onto his back, so he desperately tried to get air back into his lungs by breathing rapidly.

You turned right back around and walked up towards Chuuya. “I think I lost my appetite,” you murmured.

You absolutely hated being disrespected like that. You knew you were strong, but sometimes people thought otherwise just based on appearances. It rubbed you the wrong way.

Chuuya smirked at the man on the ground. He knew full well that you were capable of beating him; you weren’t Chuuya’s other half for nothing. He made sure that you were able to defend yourself in case you were attacked from a rival group trying to lure him out. In fact, Chuuya had personally trained you. It was tedious, but it payed off.

“C’mon let’s go! I don’t want to be here anymore,” you said as you tugged on Chuuya’s arm. “A crowd is forming and I’m very uncomfortable.”

Your boyfriend chuckled as you dragged him away from the scene. “You were so badass, did you know that?”

Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Today you two had to visit the Sky Casino. Sigma’s mental state wasn’t in the best shape, and you took it upon yourself to make sure he’s okay. Fyodor could care less, but he decided to come along anyways because there was something he needed to do. You didn’t dare question him; it’s not like he’d tell you anyways.

You two walked into the lavish entry hall hand in hand. The casino was huge, so the chances of getting lost were high.

The two of you rounded a corner and was met with the sight of a grown woman trying to steal a wallet from an unknowing guest. You immediately went in to stop her. Yes, you may be in the Decay of Angels, but you disliked it whenever people committed meaningless crimes. This woman was dressed in very expensive attire, so it’s likely that she already had a lot of wealth.

You grabbed her wrist. “Put that back.”

“Excuse me?!” She whipped her head towards you. “Who do you think you are?!”

The amount of makeup she wore made you feel nauseous. “You don’t need that money.”

“Shut your mouth!” She yelled. “You’re assaulting me!”

You frowned at her words. “You were the one robbing that man!”

“Okay and?” She gave you a smug look. “It’s not like there’s much you can do! You’re not law enforcement.”

Your grip on her wrist tightened. “I can do something, but I’m sure you won’t like it.”

“What are you going to do then, huh?” She gave you a cocky smile.

Your grip on her wrist shifted to her hand. You then applied pressure onto one of fingers. You wanted to break her hand, you really did, but it appeared that the woman was already getting cold feet.

“No! Don’t break it! Fuck okay fine, I’ll leave and give him back the wallet! Alright?!” She begged.

You shrugged your shoulders and let go of her hand. “I’ll hold you up to it then.”

The woman put the wallet back into the man’s pocket and ran away. As you saw her retreating you turned back to Fyodor. You then straightened out your outfit with a slight frown.

“I’m sorry about that, Fedya,” you spoke. “She just bothered me a lot.”

Fyodor only smirked as he wrapped one of his hands around yours. “Don’t apologize for that, my love. In fact, I do think she deserved it.”

You nodded as you started to lead him to Sigmas office. “She even doubted my skills… What a bitch.”

“If you so wish I could dispose of her later later,” he chuckled. “It wouldn’t be that hard of a task.”

You shook your head. “No, that won’t be necessary.”

“I see,” Fyodor hummed. You two were now just outside of the casino managers office. “Though, I’d like to say that you’re quite strong. I’m lucky to have you at my side.”
