I'm usually not very fond of the idea of remaking/remastering games when they still hold up today BUT I think Sonic Team should make a Sonic Unleashed definitive edition that takes the best parts from the HD and Wii/PS2 versions and puts them into one
Like keep the graphics, hub worlds, and daytime levels from the HD version and keep the Gaia Temples, medal collecting system, and nighttime levels from the Wii/PS2 version. Include the DLC levels, bug fixes, general quality of life improvements, and fine-tune the controls a bit too. Maybe even add some extra content that wasn't in the og games to make it even more worthwhile, like more animated shorts and artwork, extra side missions, stuff like that
Also make a pc version. Please for the love of god make a pc version

Hi we just watched Good Omens 2 (amazing by the way. the religious trauma of it all. also spoilers to follow) but as we were speculating about season 3 a friend pointed out something I'd never noticed before and haven't seen people talking about elsewhere -- namely that we haven't yet seen... people... in Heaven. Hell is so swamped with people that they are "chronically understaffed," they have new arrivals every day and devote huge resources to processing them. But everyone we've seen in Heaven so far has been an angel of some sort (or so I think, my memory of s1 might be foggy). The two aesthetics are cool as hell but they also carry information: Hell is much more populous than Heaven, with all the bureaucracy that comes with that and managing their own people. Heaven is pointedly and horrifically empty (though granted that could also be that we only see the Angel bureaucracy location, and the point they're making is that in Heaven the Principalities are kept separate from the former mortals for some reason.)
This is of course rampant speculation, but it does make me wonder if what Aziraphale will find as the new Head Archangel is that... nobody goes to heaven. Namely that the rules are so strict even "good" people get sent down on a technicality. I feel like finding out he's been selling people on Earth a practical lie about doing good so they can go to Heaven would manage to break his faith in the system and set him towards reform (this is partially bcs I think the arc of the show is tending towards radical political action as a central theme: Aziraphale is still trying to get the "right people" to fix a broken system, Crowley understands the system sucks but doesn't have the sense of duty to want to release everyone else from it, only himself and the guy he cares about. I feel like together they'd be able to enact real political change. Also why I think God is being set up as the main villain- to avoid the "right people" excuse and blaming it on the angels.)

I’m thinking about Modern!AUs in fanfiction and why sometimes they’re some of my favorite fics and also sometimes the Worst™️. (<-that is a joke. There is no such thing as bad fanfiction, just fanfiction I don’t personally like.)
Because I LOVE Modern!AUs that ask interesting questions about how the setting of a story impacts the characters—how much of the setting can you remove while still being able to recognize the characters in question? All of it? None of it? What new problems would living in a world with planes and phones create for these characters? How are the social and political tensions of the original canon reflected in our own world?
The “problem” (again, not an actual problem, just a personal preference) is that most Modern!AUs COMPLETELY refuse to engage with any of that. They instead become a stale rehashing of the original canon except with lower stakes. Nothing about the modern setting adds interest, and everything interesting from the original setting falls away.
I think that a lot of people write Modern!AU fics to deescalate the conflict of the original canon and give the characters more relatable problems, which isn’t universally terrible, but it can so easily become boring. I don’t WANT to know what it would be like if one of these characters was a florist and the other was a tattoo artist; I want to know what would happen if you gave one of them a gun.

Prompt #15: Extra Credit
(Part 2 of the Modern Fantasy AU I started last week as something different for the extra credit time. This time features Aryn and Cedrik. With a guest appearance of Nebula and Gwyneria. Part 1 )
Cedrik led them quickly away from the alley and the bodies of the vampires. Right to where he left his motorcycle parked. He tossed the his helmet to Aryn since he'd rather go without to keep the other man safe. It would just hinder his view if they were to be jumped by more vampires anyways.
If the situation hadn't been what it was, Aryn might have pouted about the helmet. Maybe even complained about helmet hair. At least it was designed with ears in mind for viera as he slid it onto his head. He did cast one more look backwards though. It still hurt to think he was walking away from his friend. Even if the logical part of him knew it was too late. Finally he turned back around to climb on behind Cedrik as he hoped he wasn't making a bigger mistake by trusting a stranger with his life.
The bike roared down the dark city streets. It felt like they traveled for ages as Aryn kept trying to look around for more danger now that he was already paranoid and worried. It was probably only more like 20mins before Cedrik pulled the bike to a stop outside of a shop. The open sign was unlit but Cedrik walked up to bang on the door to the shop anyways.
"Shop's closed, idiot!" Grumbled a woman's voice before the door swung open sharply. Icy blue eyes stared out at them in a deathly glare for a long moment before the woman gave a heavy sigh. "Why is it always you when I open the door after hours... Gods damn it, Cedrik." She turned away from the pair to walk back inside the shop, leaving the door open. "Nebula!"
"Always so charming, Gwyn." Cedrik rolled his eyes before he reached to grab Aryn by the arm to pull him into the store behind him. He lead Aryn out of the way of the door before kicking it closed with a furred foot.
"Cedrik?" Nebula questioned as they came out of the back still dressed in their gauzy robes they wore while running the magic relic shop. Sometimes it helped to look the part of the fortune teller. It drew in some customers better than others. Nebula's gaze settled on Aryn with a raised brow. "Company? Gwyn would you kindly start the water for tea please? I think our guest may need the chamomile and lavender mix."
Aryn was looking around but his mind wasn't in the here and now. He'd barely registered Nebula coming to stand before him till their hands were on his cheeks.
"Looks like a bit of shock. Vampire attack?" Nebula asked as they took their hands off Aryn's face.
"Yeah. His friend... Didn't make it." Cedrik grimaced as he let go of Aryn's hand so he could find a wet cloth to wipe Jesse's blood from Aryn's hands. He didn't have any issues with blood but he was sure that blood on Aryn wouldn't help the other man. Not in this state.
"Very unfortunate." Nebula sighed softly before gently taking one of Aryn's hands and patting it. "Come now. Let's get some tea."
Aryn was vaguely aware of someone taking something wet to his hands. Of the smell of something he knew but couldn't quite place in the moment. A warm blanket wrapped around his shoulders and a warm cup of some liquid between his hands. Voices talking softly nearby. Something wet on his cheeks. He took one hand off the cradled cup to touch his cheek. Tears.
Right... His friend was gone. He had nearly joined his friend in that. At some point in the time of arriving wherever this was, he'd let go of himself for a bit. Unable to fully process everything. Not wanting to process it. Closing his eyes as he let himself mourn his lost friend. He felt a pair of arms wrap around him in a hug. Aryn set the cup down on the table beside him as he wrapped his arms around the person in return.
"I am sorry about your friend. Truly. You're safe here though. I swear it." Cedrik spoke with a thick voice as he tried to offer comfort to the dancer. Letting the other man cry into his chest.
