My entry for the GBA MotH fanart contest! Hope I made it, because that monster of a sea and lighting delayed things... I uploaded this to Twitter as well, just in case.
This tecnically never happened, since it was born from my failed prediction on how Zed would find the Castle, after Mirrin was recovered.
Maybe the Titan Snake is not big enough, but the idea here is that the island is far enough for it to be coiled around like the author described, and then I used that light so the castle, which is huge as well, would stand out more.

i hate how zanechan invalidates the ro'bros arc from s1. ik its a really minor complaint but it's always bugged me.
like, the whole point of the robros trilogy was zane learning that he isn't obligated to make his parental figures happy at the expense of himself and zianna finally realizing that she's been pressuring her kids to live the life that she thinks is best, and resolving that, as long as they're happy and safe, she's supportive of their life choices (mostly in regards to zane since it's the fake zanemau arc and he's the furthest from her idea of gaining a big social crowd and settling down with a cute girl willing to pop out seven grandkids for zianna to spoil).
and then zanechan happens and zianna gets the perfect daughter-in-law. kc has a big social group that zane is forcefully integrated into by virtue of dating her. kc and zianna share a lot of interests (romance, baking, sewing, zane, etc.) and mannerisms. kc's a meif'wa from a big family so she's more likely to give zianna all seven hypothetical grandkids. etc.
it's not necessarily bad that kc and zianna are so similar, but it does make zianna ultimately right in the end and makes the whole arc feel kinda pointless. it retroactively turns zane finally standing up for himself into a stubborn refusal of the single solution to all of his problems. and i don't like that it feels weird and icky.
ik jesson probably forgot about the ro'bros arc by s5 but still...

Man, I just want to personally thank Tristamp’s composer for how they handled episode five specifically (all of the tracks if I’m being honest, but this one especially). The tracks have an ethereal vibe that it gives, and so, despite the action set pieces, it makes you feel like you’re drifting from memory to dream, unmoored in these flashbacks. Until it all settles, everything goes dark--and then the wind picks up, and those lights in Rollo’s village turn on as the windmill at last begins to creakily turn

Alright so my theory on Peter Hawkins rn is that he has always been wealthy, with a very well established firm since the mid 1800s. He got married and had a kid or kids. Wife died, or divorced and took the kids (less likely). He also took in little Mina, and later on Jonathan with the purpose to make him his clerk. Maybe he employed more kids too. He never intended to adopt either of them. Then his descendant/s most likely died. His will originally likely was to leave everything to them. Now partly because he feels guilt for Jonathan almost dying for money and because he himself has been ill for a while since illness is so prominent in this arc, he decides to promote Jonathan to My Son Now level and leave his fortune to the newlyweds.

The main role of clockworks had obviously been for them to fight in the wars for Valencia, but their secondary purpose was to entertain Valencians and act as their servants. They were seen as objects and treated as nothing more.
So when Gazpaccio built Kane and regarded him as family, as his own son, it was seen as strange and impractical. He was using Kane to assist him with toy-making and gain vengeance on others - there really was no need to see and treat him as something more, but Gazpaccio still welcomed and cared for him as his own flesh-and-blood regardless.
One of the influences he (unintentionally) left on Kane was this concept of relationships - as Kane viewed his own creations as his family, just like his father did with him.

“You just want SNW to be a different timeline than TOS so you can de-canonize it!” No, actually, my favorite timelines are the alternate ones. I love the Kelvin Timeline. I love the Mirror Universe. I love all of Voyager’s alternate timelines: the “Year of Hell” timeline, the “Non-Sequitur” timeline, the “Timeless” timeline, the un-altered “Endgame” timeline, and so on. ENT’s “Twilight” timeline. SNW’s “A Quality of Mercy” timeline. I love alternate timelines. In fact, 99% of the time, I prefer them over the prime timeline. And if SNW was confirmed to be something else, even if just an “alternation to the prime timeline caused by temporal wars” that increases my likelihood of enjoying the show and writing fanfic for it by 500%. Also, if I’m being perfectly candid, the main reason I want SNW to be a different timeline than TOS is because I don’t want to watch M’Benga get demoted and replaced as CMO and SNW Chapel transform from her current badass iteration into some kind of awkward shrinking violet. Pike has made his peace with his future and that’s great. And I’m okay with SNW following TOS in broad strokes. But I’m also hoping that the implications of s2e03 of SNW mean that I can look forward with hope for these characters, instead of constantly dreading what happens next.

It is insane just how untouchable the Loki series is. There are so many MCU fans that staunchly defend that show in particular from any and all criticism. Why?
I can't help but feel that most of those same fans would've deemed the show a disappointment if it had just been about Loki instead of the glorified ~5 hour Phase 4 trailer it ended up being.
The greater MCU fandom and a lot of the non-Loki fans had always seen him as a bland character who just wanted to rule and betray everyone around him, so the series is basically a confirmation of that. All his complexity is gone and he is now palatable to a wider audience, he's no different to the others. In the movies he's more... 'othered' and some people don't like that, and I suppose when it comes to choosing between the films and the series they're going to staunchly defend the show and their new and modern version of Loki. 🤷‍♀️

The progression of Corin Tucker's attitude in the Sleater-Kinney lyrics "I wanna be your Joey Ramone/Pictures of me on your bedroom door/Invite you back after the show/I'm the queen of rock and roll" ("I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone") ➡ "I've been crawling up so long on your stairway to heaven/And now I no longer believe that I want to get in" ("#1 Must Have") ➡ "I'm so sick of tests/Go ahead and flunk my ass!" ("Male Model") ➡ "And I practice tests/And a usefulness/That I no longer need" ("Fangless")

Even after Esme gives birth, I do hope they continue having her be trina (and Spencer’s) main villain and have her continuing to do anything to get revenge on trina and her obsession with Spencer especially now that Sprina is heading into couple territory. That’s why I was hoping she actually was the hook because it would make sense with her obsession with hating trina.
The problem with that is that she was never actually obsessed with Spencer. Spencer was a means to an end, and in a way, Trina was too. Esme's obsession was Ava, which was for her father. She's nothing more than a pawn.
And when it came to direct conflict with Esme, it was Josslyn who agitated shit. Trina only ever reacted to Esme's behavior (and Esme antagonized her because she was losing ground with Spencer, who was just a tool for her). The sex tape wasn't meant to hurt Trina, it was against Joss, and Trina was just collateral.
