I AM ONCE AGAIN THINKING ABUT SERIAL KILLER AU AHHHH
#writing probs#okay so this is what my Bitchass brain came up with:#at one point (before Kurt and Blaine are together)#they have a bit of an argument and split off after spending days attached at the hip (bc protective detail blah blah)#and then Kurt spends the day with Sam (Blaine’s partner) just in a generally shitty mood#and then they get a cryptic letter from the killer giving clues that two people kurt cares about have been kidnapped#and Kurt realizes it’s Blaine and Rachel#And the letter’s like ‘I will be at one location. good luck trying to save them both’#and it’s an impossible decision right and Kurt’s losing his mind like ‘I AM NOT A COP! I’m NOT CUT OUT FOR THIS’#and Sam reassured him ‘but you ARE smart and capable and I know you love Rachel and you care about Blaine.’#so Kurts like which one would he be at??? and decides to go to Blaine’s location and sends Sam to Rachel’s#but when he gets there the killer has misled them and Rachel is there#and while he’s so relieved that she’s okay Sam isn’t replying to his texts#and they get back to the precinct to take Rachel’s statement and Kurt is a MESS because he doesn’t even know if Blaine is alive or what#and then amidst the hustle and bustle of the station Kurt sees Blaine in a shock blanket across the room#and just RUNS to him and envelops him in a bone crushing hug because he’s okayhes safe and Kurt can BREATHE again#I have not been able to stop thinking about this scenario for like a week

Hi! Lookin for a story I've read before. Kurt is married to Dave who is abusive. Blaine, his friend, convinces him to go on a road trip with him without telling Dave. They go to bar and someone harasses Kurt, the offender ends up getting shot by either Kurt or Blaine (can't remember) they plan to run away. Dave sends police to look for Kurt and I remember K + B pick up Puck at some point. They stay in a hotel together. In the end they end up living in Canada under new alias, with the help of one of the police officers. Thank you!
I don't know the fic you are asking for, so I'll open it up to the fandom to see if they know the actual story. Here are three I found which have Karofsky as abusive partner to Kurt - I haven't read them. Hopefully they are something you might want to read. ~ Jen
Lessons in Being a Man by whatsernamelambert [PDF and EPUB]

Kidnap My Heartby misskaterinab
Kurt and Blaine meet in a large children’s store when Kurt’s daughter, Elsa, runs off and runs into Blaine. The two men hit it off immediately, but Dave Karofsky, Kurt’s ex, shows up and takes both Elsa and Blaine by gunpoint. Kurt and Cooper, as well as Blaine and Elsa, bond during the ordeal, and through the eyes of their loved ones, Kurt and Blaine begin to fall for one another.

POLL AT END DECIDES BLAINES NEXT MOVE
———
“Music Theory,” Blaine says, and, senseless, he continues, “I go to NYU.”
He regrets the confession instantaneously.
Giving Kurt all the ammunition necessary to remember him isn’t his best idea.
He braces himself, wanting to be anywhere but alone in his apartment with Kurt, awaiting his inevitable rejection.
But, the rejection doesn’t come. Instead, a baby pink tinge dusts across Kurt’s cheeks and neck. It’s a similar hue to his lips; a bit sweeter, a tad lighter, but the color’s just as distracting, and Blaine latches onto how the tint smolders under tender overhead light.
“I know,” Kurt says through a laugh, the skin at the corners of his eyes creasing.
Blaine feels himself marginally relax. Okay. Maybe his crush isn’t as obvious as he thought. Maybe Kurt really doesn’t remember him from last semester, and this skittish, jumpy stranger is his first impression of who Blaine is.
Are either of those better options?
Blaine’s not sure.
“Oh?” He prompts, partially lost, partially just wanting to hear Kurt’s voice again.
Kurt rubs his lips together and nods, thoroughly pleased. He throws a puckish glance towards Blaine’s hands.
Following Kurt’s eyes, Blaine finds that the top paper in the pile he holds is decorated with NYU’s crest, offensively enlarged and in full color. His laptop, beneath the assortment of paper, has a Bobcat sticker on the protective case, directly in Kurt’s line of sight, and, his school bag, next to Kurt and by the door, has a pin from NYU’s most recent Choral Arts concert…
“Right.” Blaine ducks his head. He regroups, trying to save himself from further embarrassment. “What about you? Are you in college?”
Blaine watches Kurt adjust his hold on his coat, his fingers clenching and unclenching, the faint squeak of polyester pricking the air. “Yeah,” he starts, treading carefully. “I go to NYU for theater. I graduate at the end of the semester.”
Blaine smiles. “That’s weird, that’s my major too-,” He takes his clutter to the entryway, shoving the assortment into his schoolbag. “I can’t believe I haven’t seen you around.”
There’s a pregnant pause.
Blaine looks up as he zips his bag closed.
He can’t decipher what expression Kurt wears. He’s searching for something to say.
Something’s off.
His smile doesn’t fill his face like it did before.
“Yeah...” Kurt pulls the garment closer to his chest, clears his throat and looks past Blaine, past the couch and down the hallway that leads to his bedroom. “Laundry?” He avoids Blaine’s eyes.
“Oh, yeah. Sorry.” Blaine scrambles to stand. He dusts off his knees and takes a few steps forward, before stopping in the hall. He doesn’t have to guide Kurt- his apartment isn’t that big. He shouldn’t hover. “Down the hall, to the right,” he points. “Everything you need should be in there.”
“Thanks,” Kurt mutters. He scoots past Blaine, steps into the laundry room, and clicks the door shut behind him.
Blaine returns to the kitchen and collapses on one of the island’s bar stools, unable to escape the onset of awkward energy that is smothering his apartment.
He sits in his discomfort and fidgets. His foot runs along one of the chair rungs. He listens to the distant echo of Kurt working his way through detergent and topical stain treatments, of water turning on and off.
He doesn’t sound like he’s in a hurry to get out of here, but, it also doesn’t sound like he’s taking his time…
Blaine groans. This is a disaster. He ruined everything, and he’s being a terrible host.
He needs to get himself together.

Written for day one of the Klaine Valentines day challenge! Just a short little fluffy kinda sexy married!klaine one-shot. I'm not sure if it really matches the prompt, but it was fun to write. See you all tomorrow for another one-shot! 💜
—/—
The music was pounding in Kurt's ears, and Blaine had disappeared into the crowd to get them both another drink, leaving Kurt alone on the outskirts of the dance floor. He wasn't drunk, but rather pleasantly tipsy, and he was enjoying it.
"Hey, stranger," Blaine says loud enough to be heard over the pounding music, pressing a cold drink into Kurt's hand.
"Hey yourself," was Kurt's response, taking a sip from his drink, and wincing slightly at the burn of the alcohol on his throat, "is this one stronger?"
"Nah, you're just drunk," was Blaine's response, a sloppy grin on his face. Blaine looked absolutely stunning tonight, his hair loose and wild, and his long sleeved dress shirt rolled up past his forearms.
"I'm not drunk," Kurt argued, sipping from his drink again, "just pleasantly tipsy," Blaine laughed, stepping further into Kurt's space, close enough Kurt could feel his breath on his face. He'd assumed Blaine was going to kiss him, but instead the younger man just smiled in a way that made Kurt's heart skip a beat. He'd never understand how Blaine managed to have such power over him, they'd been married for three years now, and together for even longer, but all Blaine had to do was smile, and Kurt was done for.
"You look amazing tonight," Blaine breathed, before finally giving in, and they kissed, deep and passionate, Kurt's free hand grabbing Blaine's waist, while Blaine's wrapped around his neck, and it was wonderful.
 "You smell good," Kurt murmured when they broke the kiss, and Blaine didn't reply, instead pulling away enough to take a long sip of hia drink.
"You're staring, honey," Blaine teased, and Kurt shrugged shamelessly.
"You're gorgeous, I'm pretty sure it's fair," was Kurt's casual response, and he watched Blaine's eyes light up with a praise.
Soon enough, their drinks were finished, their glasses taken away by a server, and as soon as their drinks were taken, Blaine had his arms around Kurt's waist, pulling him in close. Dancing with his husband was electric, the music pounding in their ears, and the feel of Blaine's racing heart against his own made it seem as if no one else was there, despite them both knowing perfectly well how many people were around them. At some point, dancing turned into seeing how subtly they could grope the other's ass, which turned into Blaine sucking hickies onto Kurt's neck, and eventually turned into their hips grinding against each other in search of some friction to relieve the tension.
"We should go home," Blaine panted into Kurt's ear, and hos voice sent shivers down Kurt's spine.
"Yeah?" Kurt asked, his mind buzzing with alcohol and arousal.
"Yeah," Blaine replied, and before Kurt knew it he was being pulled through the crowd and out of the club into the chilly New York air. Unfortunately, the cold was rather sobering, his mind clearing a little more than he would've liked. Blaine stepped back into his space, and he once again expected a kiss, before he watched realization wash over Blaine's face. The same realization that used to cross their faces in high school when they desperately wanted to kiss, but realized that in public, it wasn't always the smartest thing for them to do. So instead, just like he had in high school, Blaine grabbed Kurt's hand, and pressed a kiss to his knuckles, as a promise of what was to come. And with that, they wordlessly walked to their apartment.
Kurt had barely gotten the door locked behind him before Blaine had him pressed against the wall, kissing deeply and messily.
"Kurt," Blaine breathed, and Kurt shivered. He loved the way his name sounded on Blaine's lips. Blaine kissed him again, and he tasted of the fruity cocktail he'd been drinking, and something else that was so distinctively Blaine that Kurt could hardly breathe.
"I love you so fucking much," Kurt murmured between kisses, breathlessly tangling his hands in Blaine's hair. Blaine pulled him impossibly closer, their chests pressed together, and Kurt could feel Blaine's heart racing.
"Love you more," Blaine replied, mouthing at Kurt's jawline.
"Bedroom?" Kurt suggested, and Blaine nodded.
Half an hour later, they lay on their sides, face to face, and wonderfully satisfied.
"We're good at that," Blaine said, reaching over and taking Kurt's hand in his own. Kurt laughed, squeezing Blaine's hand lightly.
"I'm so in love with you," Kurt murmured, and Blaine smiled warmly.
"And I'm so in love with you," he promised before kissing him deeply. Eventually, they'd pull themselves from the warmth of their bed, and shower, before pulling on some ratty pajamas, and falling asleep in each other's arms, but for now, Kurt was perfectly content to stay here, curled up in Blaine's arms.

The Purrfect Crime
Summary: Kurt and Blaine were, as you say, “partners in crime”, but like, in the opposite sense… They were a long standing duo at the CIA. Headquarters knew they worked best when they worked together, so they just always did.
On their most recent mission however, their professional partnership is being tested as they go undercover as a married couple.

Notes: This work is a secret santa gift to @spaceorphan18! Merry Christmas!
First of all, I know this is a little late and I'm so sorry! I was struggling (to say the least) to get this done on time. As you can see, this is chapter one, because I just couldn't finish the whole thing and I didn't want you to wait any longer. I was so busy with work it's litereally not funny. I was pulling days from 7am til 9pm at some point. Then, when I started writing my first idea, I came to the realisation that I was including a very significant trope that was the oposit of what you had written on your wish list, so I had to start over... my own stupid mistake. Then, to make matters even worse, I spilled soda all over my laptop and it broke down completely. So I had to continue writing on my phone and ipad with a broken keyboard (I do NOT reccomend). I know, excuses excuses. I'm just bummed I didn't get it done on time. Also I now have to buy a new computer...
All that aside! I hope you like what I've got so far! I got really excited when I saw you wanted spies!klaine! A trope I absolutely love! Just note that I have never really written crack before, but I tried my best to make it fun add many silly elements! And I promise there are a lot more to come in the next part!!
Chapter: 1/?
Read on Ao3
They walked up to the gates of what could only be described as a palace (if America had those). The long and broad driveway behind the gates lead to a building so large and fancy looking, Blaine instinctively straightened his bowtie and readjusted his cufflinks. He knew he looked the part. Headquarters never sent out their agents in anything less than appropriate attire, but he couldn’t help it. He then glanced over at Kurt, who looked like he was a regular at this place, clad in a striking powder blue suit that perfectly brought out the colour of his eyes- no, Blaine, you are on a mission and he is your friend. He had to remind himself more and more frequently of the fact that they were partners in the professional sense only. No matter how gorgeous Kurt looked and how kind he was and how many flirty remarks he made at Blaine.
“Did you get any information on what we are actually attending?” Kurt asked.
“No, chief Sylvester only gave me the location and this invitation.” Blaine held up a piece of royal blue parchment with a broken red and gold wax seal. The text on it was written in golden ink and read:
“ Dear guest,
Recently I received some incredible news concerning someone close to me that has enriched my life. I would like to share this news with you. Therefore, I hereby invite you to attend a celebratory party to join me in my glee on the evening of the 22nd of may at my residence. I would love to share with you a grand revelation that not even I know the outcome of. All that I will say is that it will be an evening full of surprises.
Sincerely,
Hunter Clarington”
“What do you think it means?” Kurt asked as he took the paper from Blaine to inspect it further.
“I don’t know. But he is clearly up to something. Chief Sylvester said they got a hold of this invite right after they found suspicious signals and radiation coming from the address. They tracked all the vehicles going in and out of the vicinity. All transporting materials to build some sort of weapon… a powerful one.”
Kurt worried his bottom lip between his teeth and nodded, mulling over the information.
Blaine couldn't help but stare at Kurt's mouth as he licked his lips in thought. Blaine swallowed thickly and his breath hitched for a moment.
Kurt eyed him a little suspiciously. “Are you nervous?” he asked.
“Are you?” Great save, Blaine. Clever.
Kurt shrugged. “A little, I guess.”
Blaine didn’t actually expect that answer. “What? Why? You’re never nervous .”
“Well I just don’t really fit in at these kinds of events… ”
Blaine frowned at Kurt. “What makes you say that?”
“Everyone here is rich, Blaine. I don’t know any of these etiquettes and inside jokes. I’ll stick out like a sore thumb…”
“Kurt, you are a spy for the CIA You are literally trained to fit in anywhere. I’ve seen you act. You’re a natural! And your suit looks incredibly expensive.” Better than mine anyways…
Kurt smiled at the compliment. “Thank you. I tailored it myself, actually.”
“A secret agent with secret talents. Seriously, Kurt, what can’t you do?”
“It’s not “Kurt” tonight, Remember?”
“Right. Yes. Sorry, Mr. Ralph Murray, what can’t you do?” Blaine said to Kurt with a smile.
“Some secrets I don't dare share, not even with you, Mr. George Murray, darling. ” Kurt winked at Blaine.
And there it was; the reason Blaine was nervous in the first place. Tonight Kurt and he were Ralph and George Murray, husbands of five years, millionaires, and most importantly, on the guest list. It wouldn’t be a hard part to play; Kurt’s husband. Blaine had played that part often enough in his head. But Kurt didn’t know that, and Blaine would rather eat his bowtie than have Kurt finding out and Blaine making a fool out of himself. He just couldn't help but blush at the pet name Kurt gave him.
Then, a sharp noise pierced his ear. Blaine flinched. This damn earpiece! And then a voice, “Hey guys, I’m glad to hear you are getting into character, but you better get in there. We have no clue where the signal is coming from within that building. And we need to find it fast.
Right. Blaine thought. The stakes were high tonight. The nation was in danger and it was their job to secure its safety. “We best get in, then.”
“Oh before you do, I have hidden some gadgets for you in that bush over there on the left side of the gate.”
“Hold up. You have hidden our top secret, highly dangerous gadgets… in a bush?” Kurt said exasperatedly into his earpiece.
“I figured they would be easily accessible…”
“Yeah. To literally everyone , Sam,” Kurt hissed.
“Oh… yeah…”
“Look, Sam, just tell us what you got us,” Blaine said as he crouched next to the bush, pushing the branches aside to reveal a suitcase. He opened it and Sam continued, “Alright. There is of course your trusted grenade pen, anaesthetic darts-watch and bulletproof handkerchief, but I have also added a few of my newest inventions.”
To this, Kurt shot Blaine an apprehensive look. They were a little too familiar with Sam's “ inventions” to say they were always a raging success. They looked into the suitcase and saw, beside their usual gadgets, something that looked like a small beauty case, an umbrella and a pair of sunglasses. “What the…” Kurt whispered under his breath.
Blaine frowned. “Sam, the event is inside… how are we supposed to casually pull out an umbrella or sunglasses?”
“You're worried about the sunglasses? How do you reckon we are gonna be able to pull off using a, what is this, a lipstick ?” Kurt said as he held up a small golden tube.
“I- hadn’t really thought about that,” Sam confessed.
Kurt looked like a vein was about to pop in his forehead as he pinched the skin between his eyebrows and pursed his lips.
“What do they do, Sam?” Blaine offered.
“Right, so, the umbrella is not only completely waterproof, it is also fire resistant and creates a perfect shield once unfolded. The sunglasses have infrared night vision and the lipstick is my personal favourite. It releases a toxic fume if you press that button on the back there, but that won't affect you when you are wearing the lipstick as it neutralises the toxins as they come close to it, so when you inhale, you're totally safe,” Sam said proudly.
Blaine had to admit the inventions sounded pretty incredible had they been more practical. “Alright,” he sighed. “Thank you, Sam.”
Kurt side eyed him and Blaine offered a shrug in return.
“Well, we’d better get going, now. We’ll tune back in when we need you, Sam,” Kurt said and tapped on his earpiece once to hang up. Blaine followed. “Honestly, I can’t with him sometimes. I know you guys are friends, but he sure gets on my nerves.”
Maybe Sam didn't always have the best ideas, but he really wasn't bad at his job. Blaine thought. “He tries his best, though. And he is actually really great once you get to know him,”
Kurt shook his head. “You’re too kind for your own good,” he said, but there wasn't any actual judgement in his voice.
Blaine smiled and the blush he was sporting a minute ago returned faintly to his cheeks.
They walked through the gate towards a grand wooden front door in front of which a big woman was standing behind a podium with her arms crossed. "Names?" she said as she was eyeing them up and down suspiciously.
Blaine put on his most charming smile. “George and Ralph Murray,” he responded.
She looked at the register in front of her and her expression changed. “Ah! Splendid!" Welcome to the Clarington residence. All guests are expected in the ballroom for the welcome speech at 8:00 pm sharp. In the meantime there will be beverages and appetisers served in the grand foyer. Please enjoy your evening Mr. and Mr. Murray.”
“Thank you,” Kurt said and nodded to the woman. They walked past her as the doors opened.
“Ballroom? Really?” Blaine whispered at Kurt as they made their way up the steps leading to the front door. “What is this place? Versaille?”
Kurt sniggered and gave Blaine a pointed look. “Play the part now, Blaine,” he said as they stepped over the threshold.
They entered an incredible marble room with two grand staircases with golden railings on each side. Large pillars reached to the high ceiling on which, in the middle, hung an enormous crystal chandelier. Blaine’s mouth fell open and he heard Kurt release a low whistle. They quickly pulled themselves together as they were approached by a young handsome waiter. “Welcome, gentlemen. Can I offer you a drink? A glass of champagne perhaps? Cocktail?”
“I’ll have an old fashioned, thank you.” Kurt said with a confident, charming smile. See? Blaine knew Kurt had nothing to worry about. He was a natural. Blaine might have come from money, but Kurt just radiated class.
“For me a negroni, please. Let’s save the champagne for later after the great announcement, don't you think?” Blaine said with a wink.
The young man blushed. “Certainly, sir.”
“Say, do you happen to know anything about this speech?” Blaine asked him.
The waiter's eyes grew wide for a second. “I- I’m sorry sir, but it’s supposed to be a surprise.”
“Of course. I’m sorry,” Blaine gave the waiter an understanding smile. The young man bowed his head gratefully and dashed away to get their drinks.
Blaine leaned into Kurt’s side, “You reckon he didn't know? Or he didn’t want to say?” he asked.
“Not sure… Would you share your secrets with the waiting staff?”
“I don’t know. I never had waiting staff.”
“Hm.” Kurt gave him a considering look that lingered a bit too long. It made Blaine feel a little hot in the face.
“What?” he asked.
“Nothing.” Kurt shrugged. “I’m just trying to paint a picture of you.” When Blaine didn't respond immediately he added, “It's a good picture, don't worry.” There was something suggestive in the way Kurt spoke. Blaine looked at him as if to try figuring him out. Kurt was just good at playing his part. Blaine told himself. Though no one was looking at them at the moment so there was no direct reason for it.
“Let's ask around some more, shall we?” Kurt suggested, breaking the tension.
"Yeah. Good plan.”
The young waiter had returned with their drinks and they started moving through the crowd. They asked multiple people if they had any idea what they were doing here, but no one seemed to know or want to tell them anything.
“This is hopeless. We are wasting valuable time.” Blaine slumped against one of the pillars.
Kurt opened his mouth to respond but Blaine motioned for him to be quiet when he heard a woman speak; “See, I told you he was weird. Who hosts a party for their cat?”
They turned to look where the voice came from. A latina woman with long dark hair in a fitted, red, velvet dress was talking to another woman. This one with blond hair styled in a stylishly messy updo and a mint green dress.
“I would,” the blonde woman said solemnly. “And I have in the past.”
“Yeah, but that’s different. You’re cute about it.” The dark haired woman flirted and the blonde one gave her a quick kiss.
“Excuse me,” Blaine piped in.
The dark haired woman gave him a once over, clearly judging him.
“George Murray, pleasure to meet you.” He held out his hand and the woman took it with only slight reluctance. “This is my husband, Ralph Murray.” He gestured to Kurt who then also shook the woman’s hand. Blaine noticed that the look she gave him was a lot less disapproving. Though Blaine couldn't blame her when Kurt was wearing that suit.
“Santana Lopez,” the dark haired woman introduced herself. “This is Brittany Pierce.”
The men shook Brittany's hand as well. “I’m sorry, we just couldn’t help but overhear… Do you happen to know what this event is for?”
“I’ve only heard rumours,” Santana said.
“I see. Where did you get these rumours from?” Blaine asked.
Santana crossed her arms. “Well aren’t you the little detective. What's it to you, anyways?
“Just nosy.” Kurt’s smile turned a little more devious than polite, matching her energy.
“They say it’s his cat’s birthday, but that doesn’t explain the great announcement. Maybe his cat got nominated for an award.” Brittany said
Kurt and Blaine looked at each other in disbelief, and back at the women. “You can’t be serious,” Kurt said.
Santana crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. “Deadly.”
“He can't be that passionate about a cat?”
“Wanna bet?” Santana challenged. “How do you think we know him?”
The men shrugged.
“We know him from cat shows.” Santana rolled her eyes. “Brittany’s cat, Lord Tubbington, often runs against his cat, Mr. Puss. So believe me when I say people are passionate about their cats. Anyways if you really wanna know, we heard it from Sebastian Smythe.”
“Who is that?”
“He is one of Hunter's closest friends .” She grinned as if to imply something.
“Do you think Hunter told him about his plans for the night?” Blaine asked, trying to hide the eagerness in his voice.
“I’m sure he did. I overheard them talking about half an hour ago. Something about ‘getting it ready in the basement.’ ” She shrugged.
Kurt and Blaine exchanged a meaningful look. “Do you know how we can get in there?” Kurt asked.
“I'm sure Sebastian has a keycard to the elevator. But hold up, why do you want to know so bad?”
“Never mind that. What does he look like; Sebastian?” Kurt asked.
Santana smirked. “Oh you can’t miss him.”
Brittany then took Santana's hand and whispered something in her ear. They giggled. “Look we’d love to stay and chat, but we, er, we gotta go.” Santana said before she was pulled away by Brittany. Santana managed to add a “good luck” as they disappeared into the crowd.
“What do we do now?” Blaine sighed. “We have no clue where to find this Sebastian character,”
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” Kurt said and pointed over Blaine’s shoulder.
Blaine turned to look, and there, in the middle of a group of people, stood a handsome man who was clearly the centre of attention. The people around him were laughing at his jokes and basically fawning over him. “You reckon that’s him?” Blaine asked.
“ Oh my god, Sebastian! You didn’t!” one of the guys closest to him laughed and flirtily touched the man’s arm.
Sebastian petted the guy’s hand and smirked. “You should hear what I did with his father,” he said and winked at the woman next to him. The people around him all laughed.
Blaine snorted. “Well that answers that,” he said.
“He looks incredibly obnoxious,” Kurt said and narrowed his eyes. “He is flirting with literally everyone in his little group.” He grimaced.
“Maybe we can use that to our advantage?” Blaine thought out loud. However he didn’t really feel like watching Kurt chat up another man. He would just have to do it himself. “I will go and talk to him!”
“Wait, maybe-” but before Kurt could protest, Blaine had stepped into the circle of people. Sebastian's eyes were immediately on him.
“Well hello handsome,” Sebastian said and extended his hand towards Blaine. “I don’t think we’ve met. You look like someone I wouldn’t easily forget.” He grinned.
Despite his better judgement, Blaine blushed. The man was handsome, alright. And definitely charismatic, judging by the effect he had on the people around him. “We haven't. My name is George Murray. Are you Sebastian Smythe?” Blaine asked as he shook the man’s hand.
“Matter of fact I am. To what do I owe this pleasure?”
“I was talking to some friends of mine and you sounded… interesting” Blaine smiled a what he hoped was a seductive smile.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow and turned away from Blaine for a second to make a dismissive gesture to his followers. “Could you give us a moment please?”
The small crowd looked annoyed, some even jealous, but they obeyed, leaving the two men to themselves. Sebastian turned back to Blaine “Interesting, hm?” he grinned.
Now that they were talking Blaine realised he didn’t actually have a solid plan. He couldn’t straight up ask Sebastian to give him the key. He would never just hand it over. Maybe Blaine could convince Sebastian to take him to the basement? But he needed Kurt with him. So he had to think of something else.
“They said you were close friends with the host,” Blaine said, trying to imply exactly whatever Santana was implying before. “I can see why he would like you,” he flirted. Apparently this was the right move, as Sebastian looked him up and down let his gaze rest on Blaine’s mouth.
Sebastian leaned in closer. “You’re cute, George Murray. How come I’ve never seen you before?”
“I- I’m usually very busy with eh- work. Don’t-“ Blaine swallowed. “Don’t often have time for parties.” Out of the corner of his eye Blaine noticed movement. He glanced over Sebastian's shoulder and saw that Kurt was miming something. “Back pocket!” He mouthed. What about his back pocket? Wait. Sebastian’s back pocket! The keycard was in sebastians back pocket!
Sebastian, who luckily didn’t seem to have noticed anything, spoke again, “Ah, so you're Mr. Professional, hm? Do you always obey the rules or are you capable of letting loose every once in a while?”
“Er, yeah sure,” Blaine said semi on auto pilot. How the hell was he supposed to get the key-card from Sebastian’s pocket? “What about you?” he asked. “Are you a rule breaker?”
“You could say that,” Sebastian quipped.
Blaine laughed. He needed to get very close and personal with this man but whilst he was doing so, he might as well find out some more information.
“I was wondering,” Blaine said and trailed his finger over Sebastian’s chest. “As you’re such a bad boy, would you mind telling me what tonight is all about?” Blaine looked up through his eyelashes.
Sebastian inhaled through his teeth. “Oh babe, I can’t tell you that. It’s supposed to be a surprise.”
“I thought you didn't play by the rules.”
“Why don’t you come upstairs with me where we can have a little more privacy and I can tell you all you want to know.” Sebastian said and slipped an arm around Blaine’s back.
This was his chance. He could take it now and Sebastian wouldn't notice. He just didn’t know how to get out of the situation once he made his move. Blaine looked over his shoulder in search of Kurt and found him looking at them. Blaine gave him a quick pleading look, hoping Kurt would understand. Here goes nothing. He put his hand on Sebastian's back and slid it down to rest over his butt. “Sounds amazing...” Blaine felt the card in Sebastian's pocket. “...but I forgot to mention…” He slid his fingers into the pocket over the card, trying to pull it off as a caress, and as he retreated his hand he pulled the card out. Got it. “...that I'm married.”
As if on cue, Kurt stepped in front of them. “Darling! There you are! I was looking for you.” He smiled a bit too sweetly at Blaine. “Who’s our new friend?” he asked and shot a murdering look at Sebastian.
“Woah, what the hell?” Sebastian took a step back, letting go of Blaine.
Blaine quickly slipped the key-card into his own pocket and stepped closer to Kurt. “Ralph, honey, this is Sebastian. He is a close friend of Hunter’s. Sebastian, this is my husband, Ralph Murray.”
“Husband? Wow,” Sebastian said. “Was not expecting that.”
Kurt held out his hand. “Pleasure,” he said through gritted teeth.
Sebastian took Kurt’s hand and shook it once.
Kurt turned to Blaine again. “Well it’s almost 8 o’clock. We should get going, darling.”
“Right.” Blaine nodded. “Maybe we can talk later?” he offered innocently to Sebastian as if nothing had happened. “It was very nice meeting you.”
“Sure was,” Sebastian said and winked at Blaine, clearly recovered from the initial shock. “I am looking forward to seeing you again, George.”
Kurt then pulled Blaine away by his hand through the crowd, leaving Sebastian behind.
“Thank you for saving me,” Blaine said once they had found a quiet corner.
“You didn't really seem like you needed saving,” Kurt said coldly.
“What do you mean? If you hadn’t shown up, I wouldn’t have been able to get away!”
“I mean, ” Kurt said. “It didn't seem like you had such a terrible time with him. I know you needed to get the card, but how are we supposed to come across as a happily married couple when you are feeling up all the other guests.” He crossed his arms defensively.
Blaine stared at Kurt for a second. Then it dawned on him. “Wait, Kurt, are you jealous?”
“No,” Kurt snapped.
“Oh my god, you are totally jealous.”
Kurt’s cheeks turned red. “Shut up, I'm trying to take this mission seriously. Did you at least get the key?”
Blaine couldn't help but grin as he presented it. “Got it right here.”
“Great. Let's go try it out before he finds out it’s missing. We need to get to the basement before it’s 8 o’clock.”

You may have answered this a hundred times before, if so, point me to your previous answers! How would you have improved Kurt’s story in canon? What are the major things you would have changed, and some of the niggles and minor things that drive you mad?
Hi! You know - I don't mind getting these kinds of questions again. My answers tend to change as the years pass.
I'm not sure if there's anything major I'd change? I don't mind the overall structure of his story (@snarkyhag - omg, I used the word 'structure' for the first time in forever, feels nice, lol.) But Glee has very jaggedy story telling, in that it does highs and lows but doesn't do details or in-betweens very well.
I think his arcs in Season 1 and 2 are pretty well done, and despite me always wanting /more/ - the show was about an ensemble, and he did relatively well. I really have no complaints there.
In Season 3, I would have liked his story to be less attached to Rachel and more on an individual path. Everything that happens in his story line (that isn't related to Blaine) is a consequence or set up of Rachel's story line, and it's maddening. I don't mind that he doesn't get into NYADA -- I wish he would have stayed out, tbh, but the narrative around him getting or not getting in should have been devoid of what Rachel's story needed to be.
I also wish he and Blaine had had more intimate moments -- I don't mean, necessarily, kissing/sex/romance -- but more moments where the two of them are just them together, in a more relaxed way. Hard to do in a school setting, sure, but things like the missing Box Scene from the Christmas episode sprinkled in more often would have been nice.
Of course - I would have loved so much more in Season 4. More fall out from the Break Up. More of Kurt exploring New York City. It would have been nice to see Adam developed as a real relationship for Kurt. Just seeing more of how he felt, and how he was struggling with moving, and being in a new city, and leaving friends and family, and missing Blaine, etc, etc. There's such a rich story there -- but the show, ultimately, was about a high school glee club, not up and coming college kids, and of course, Kurt's story still ended up tied in to Rachel's. (Of course - on the flip side Season 4 gives us such rich material to fanfic around -- so much good fic arose out of this era.)
Season 5 is hard to articulate - there is such a complex variety of things going on - with Finn's Death, the engagement, and all of Rachel and Santana. I wish Kurt would have more of his own individual story line. I know he got the band and Elliott - but what does he really want to do with his life? Again, I do wish we had Glee - the College Years for the full season.
I love the NYC arc - and the exploration of the Klaine dynamic, but I would have seen more the highs there, too. I realize TV needs conflict, and the writers knew where they were going with the story, but I don't think the June story line necessarily worked now that I'm this far out, and I would have liked to see them more navigate the ins and outs of a relationship.
Season 6 I would change less than you think. My biggest thing is that I'd rewrite the entire Klaine part of the Wedding episode. Kurt needs a catalyst (probably the one thing that still bugs me the most) to run back - the writing is just awkward.
But also - Kurt and Blaine don't get a single, private conversation between getting back together and the locker scene in Dreams Come True. I realize it's more about the show winding down - and that scene is essentially their 'happily ever after' moment, but it would have been nice for the show let Kurt (and Blaine) reflect on marriage and taking that next step. But also, having a conversation about how their lives are moving forward when back in New York.
The epilogue was nice, but I would have moved it farther than five years -- and I'm somewhat indifferent about them having kids, but twenty-six feels young for them being dads.
Idk, those are the major things. There are episode to episode minor-ish things, too, I guess. Like why did Kurt give back the tape in Michael? Why did he have to be a jerk to Quinn in On My Way? Stuff like that where I don't agree on the writers' charactierizations.
Thanks for the question, Nonny! It was nice to get back into writing meta!

The Still Untitled Klaine December Challenge Fic (2/21)
Notes: Step aside Klaine Advent 2017 Day 13 'Mist', this is the hardest prompt I've had to use.
Anyway, let's check in with our boy, Kurt.
AO3 | S&C
-
BIKINI
Kurt’s going to miss Ljubljana. Of course, he is. This city has given him so much: love, friendship, energy. It’s his last day and it’s weird to walk around Kongresni trg with Sunil and Tadeja, knowing that he won’t be back here for probably a long time.
They’re about to grab a pizza at Ljubljanski dvor, the place where he first met Blaine. But Blaine isn’t here anymore. Kurt woke up to a message from Blaine, telling him that he’s landed safely, and then another string of messages about his brother. Due to time difference, they haven’t really talked yet. Blaine is in America. Kurt’s following suit. His flight leaves in a couple of hours.
“This will be my last meal in Ljubljana, probably,” Kurt laments. The overpriced stuff at the airport will not count.
“Awww,” Tadeja pouts.
“You could’ve stayed,” Sunil points out, albeit in a more jokey way. Sunil knows that Kurt isn’t staying. He considered it for a while. He needs to do an internship for his next academic year and it might’ve been possible to also do that here in the first semester. This is why Sunil is staying instead of going back to Sri Lanka.
And Kurt adores Ljubljana, but it’s different without Blaine.
Not only that, but he’s cooking something up. He’s already spammed his advisor’s e-mail about it. Kurt’s trying to go to Los Angeles. It’s probably too late to find an internship for September, but the second semester is also an option, so Kurt’s gunning for February.
He hasn’t talked about it with Blaine, because Kurt first wants to have a concrete plan before he brings it up. Kurt’s only told his dad briefly over the phone. His dad wondered if it was smart to uproot his life for a guy, but Kurt argued that it’s temporary and he might move in with Blaine and Quinn for those six months, so it’ll save costs and what not. His dad argued back that money is no problem, since he’s a congressman so he can help. That’s where the conversation ended, but Kurt’s only at the beginning of the planning process.
First, he has to go back to New York.
Kurt, Sunil and Tadeja eat their pizza’s and talk about silly things. No one wants to dwell on the fact that Kurt’s leaving. God, Kurt’s going to miss Sunil so much.
After pizza, they have one last walk through the centre of Ljubljana, but then it’s time to go to Tadeja’s place to get Kurt’s luggage. Since Kurt obviously couldn’t stay in Blaine’s apartment, he spent the last night at Tadeja’s.
“This is it,” he says once everything’s ready. They stand outside of Tadeja’s building. The taxi has been called.
Tadeja hugs him first.
“Nasvidenje,” she says, “Pogrešal te bom.”
“I will miss you too,” Kurt says back, in English, because he wants to spare Tadeja from his terrible Slovene pronunciation. Tadeja knows it and playfully scorns Kurt.
Then it’s time to say goodbye to Sunil and it hurts. It’s different than saying goodbye to Blaine, but it’s still painful.
“Sunil-”
Sunil cuts him off with a hug.
“I know,” he says, “I know. The feeling is a mutual.”
The taxi arrives. Sunil helps Kurt with his luggage and then it’s over. Kurt gets in the car and waves as it drives away.
--
“Hey kiddo.”
God, Kurt didn’t know how much he missed his dad until now. Kurt’s dad and Carole flew to New York to welcome him back and then they’re staying for a couple of days so that they could spend it with Kurt.
Kurt’s pretty sure Carole is weeping with joy.
The three of them travel to Kurt’s apartment. He shares it with two women named Rachel and Santana. They’re from the same fancy all-girls school and they tolerated each other enough to move in together. They originally shared the apartment with another classmate, but she moved out to go back home to Westerville, so Rachel and Santana needed a new roommate.
That’s how Kurt ended up in this place. They’ve been living together for three years and it’s fine. He likes Rachel and Santana, although they drive him mad at times, especially Rachel. He subleased his room to another New Yorker, but that person has left so that Kurt can return.
Rachel and Santana aren’t there to welcome him home, since Rachel said something about “meeting someone from the industry” and Santana wanted to “buy a bikini for her girlfriend”, but that is fine. That gives him, his dad and Carole more space to unpack in peace.
“Good to be back?” his dad asks when Kurt steps into his bedroom.
“Different,” Kurt answers.
New York is so different from Ljubljana. Kurt walks towards his window and looks outside. Ljubljana might’ve been the capital of a country, but it has nothing on New York. New York is busier, faster, louder… it’s just more in every sense. It cannot be compared to Ljubljana. Kurt already misses the charm of Ljubljana.
He wonders how Blaine is doing in LA. LA is already a completely different city from New York. Kurt hopes he’ll like it there.
“Dad, can I have a moment to call Blaine?” he asks. There’s only a 3 hour time difference between them now, which is way better than the 9 hour one.
“Of course,” his dad says kindly, “Tell him hi from us.”
Carole nods. Then they leave and close the door behind them.
Kurt calls Blaine, who immediately picks up. Blaine was expecting him to call.
“Hey there,” Blaine sounds cheerful, “Back in New York?”
“Oh, I am so tired,” Kurt says, “Is your jet lag gone?”
“Almost,” Blaine answers with a laugh.
“Is your brother gone?”
“Yes!” Blaine sounds relieved.
“Is it that bad?” Kurt asks. He’s happy and touched that his dad and Carole flew to New York for him and he’s beyond excited to spend the next couple of days with them.
Blaine seems to pick up on that. God, he knows Kurt so well.
“Well, I am glad to see him. I did miss him, but Quinn, Denise and I wanted to figure out what to do with you know what,” Blaine sighs, “We want to have some stability in life again before we tell other people that we broke up. Quinn’s mother apparently sent me a welcome home gift for, I quote, her favourite son-in-law, which was sweet but… weird.”
Kurt can imagine. When he and Adam broke up, it was also an adjustment for Kurt’s friends and family, but he and Adam were nowhere as serious as Blaine and Quinn. That, and Kurt didn’t realise he had a completely different sexuality.
What would his dad say if he came home with a woman? The thought makes him want to giggle.
“Anyway, enough of my worries,” Blaine says, “How are you?”
They talk for an hour until Kurt’s dad interrupts to tell Kurt that Rachel has gone home and wants to greet him. Kurt and Blaine tell each other they love each other and hang up. Kurt sighs. Two more weeks and then Blaine will be in New York. He can’t wait.
-
End notes: God, I actually miss Ljubljana. One of the reasons I went back and forth on this sequel plan is because I knew the sequel wasn't going to be in Ljubljana, but I also love these versions of the boys (and Quinn) so much.
I still am looking for a title and it'll probably be in Slovene for consistency, even though the story isn't in Slovenia. But you know, neither was Je tik pred vami.

au + trope + prompt 😏
9 + 7 + 1
9. camp!au + 7. childhood friends + 1. "are you sure this is legal?"
****
OK, this was another one that just refused to be short.
And then I blinked and another ficlet was born. 😂
But hope it's what you were looking for, @kurtsascot . Here is 1,559 words for you.
****
“Kurt .  .” Blaine hissed into the darkness.  “Kurt . . what the hell are you doing? Where are you?”
Blaine was seriously wondering if letting Kurt blindfold him and drive him somewhere for a “birthday surprise” was his wisest decision of the day.
A  giggle and a rustle of leaves could be heard somewhere in front of him.  Or was it besides him?  It was a bit too dark to tell.
“Goddamn it, Kurt . . we are not playing  hide and go seek in the middle of the woods. We are way too old for that.” Blaine squinted his eyes as he tried to sort out the dark shapes in all around him.  One of them must be Kurt.
“You can dress like a grandpa at times, Blaine - but you’re much too young to start acting like one.”  Kurt’s voice floated somewhere in front of him and Blaine carefully ventured towards it.
“Ha, ha,” Blaine said, rolling his eyes.  “I think my fashion choices are iconic, Kurt.”
“Whatever you say, Blaine,” teased Kurt.  “But you’ve got to let loose once in a while.  Live a little.”
A hand full of leaves rained down on him from above.
Another giggle and more rustling could be heard, this time behind him.
Blaine brushed some leaves off his cardigan and hair and straightened his bowtie.   “I . . live plenty.   And I’m  … I’m going to go back and wait in the car.”
“Blaaaaaaine,” Kurt whined.  “Don’t be a stick in the mud. It’s your birthday.  Come on!  I bet you can’t catch me!”
Blaine groaned. “I can’t see you, Kurt,” he pointed out. “How can catch you when I can’t even - .”
Blaine cut his sentence short as he felt a hand cover his eyes and a body, a very familiar body, press up against him from behind.
“Trust in me . . “ Kurt’s voice was what he heard in his ear, singing softly. “Just in me …“
Blaine shivered as Kurt’s arm wrapped around his waist.  He could feel Kurts nose, slightly cold, nuzzle his neck.  He closed his eyes, still getting used to the fact that they could do this.  They were doing this - this boyfriend thing after growing up together and knowing one another for so long. “Kurt,” Blaine murmured as he felt Kurt’s fingers dance downward towards his waistband.  “If you wanted to fool around, we could have done that back at my place …or yours.”
“Hmmm,” Kurt said thoughtfully as he stroked Blaine through his jeans.  “True.  But maybe I have something better planned,” he pulled his hands away and Blaine pouted.  Possibly even whimpered a bit in disappointment.
Kurt grinned.  God, his boyfriend was adorable.
“Don’t be a tease, Kurt.  It’s my birthday.”  Blaine resorted to the puppy dog eyes added to the pout to get his point across.
Kurt laughed out loud and grabbed Blaine’s hand. He began to tug Blaine along in through the trees for a few minutes until they came upon an open space.
“Recognize it?” Kurt asked, his eyes twinkling in the moonlight.
Blaine’s brow furrowed for a minute.  There was a lake stretching out before them, some scattered small cabins not far from them as well.  A worn stage strung with lights dominated the far shore of the body of water.
It took a few moments.  But suddenly Blaine could see it - not only in the evening, but what area looked in the daylight.  He could see the kids running around laughing and jumping excitedly into the lake to swim.  He could hear them running lines on the stage during rehearsals. He could remember campfire gatherings, children sitting shoulder to shoulder, burning their tongues on s'mores and singing together at the top of their lungs.
He could see himself - the small, shy 8 yr old kid hanging in the background watching, too afraid to say hello.
And he saw Kurt,  all shining blue eyes and smiles, pulling him into the fire light to join the merriment.
“Kurt,” said Blaine, as a lump started to form in his throat.  “We’re… at Camp Harmony,”  he turned to see Kurt, bounding excitedly on his toes, watching Blaine carefully.  “You brought me back to Camp Harmony for my birthday?”
Kurt nodded.  “Back to the very place where we first met,” he said as he stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Blaine, leaning in to kiss him deeply.  “Surprise,“ Kurt whispered.  “It’s off season, there’s no one here but us.  Want to explore?”
“I’d love to - but, are you sure this is legal?  Aren’t we on private property?” Blaine asked warily as he glanced around.
Kurt grinned. “Well, if you must know, “ he began, pausing for a moment as he sighed dramatically for effect.  “You are currently looking at the newly hired artistic director for the camp. That was the job I’ve been stressing out about for the past few months.  I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about it.  I just didn’t want to jinx it.”
“Kurt!  Oh my god!  That’s amazing!  Congratulations!.” Blaine said, picking Kurt up and swinging him around in a circle before kissing him back as soundly. “I’m so proud of you.”
Kurt leaned in closer.  “Well, the owner, Sue Sylvester, she’s a bit of a hard-ass, but she likes me and trusts me enough that she gave me the keys to the buildings and the go ahead to give the place a look over.  As long as I give her a nice, detailed report on the status of things and such.”  Kurt whipped out a large metal ring, laden with keys out of his pocket and swung it around so the keys jingled in the night air.  “So we are very much here on behalf of the owner.  No law breaking at all.”
Blaine was about to ask more about the job before Kurt gently pressed a finger to his lips to keep him from talking.  “Besides, “ Kurt said with a sly smile.  “I told her that I had to bring up the potential new music director so he could take a look around and see if he’d like to accept the job.”
“Wh . .what?”
“Don’t be mad,” Kurt quickly said.   “I submitted an application for you when I heard the position was open.  I know how much you loved this place growing up - how much it helped you - how it helped all of us.  And I know that’s really what you want to do with you life, Blaine.  What you want to do with your music. You’ve always wanted to make art and help people.”
“Kurt . . I  . . I don’t know what to say.”
“Say yes,”  Kurt whispered, his heart beating rapidly as he watched Blaine walk around slowly, taking everything in.  “If you want the position, I mean.  I don’t want to pressure you.  But the job is yours.  Sue loved your resume and your demo reel which I sent to her.  And she told me to lock you in.  She wants you.  But if it’s not what you want, I’ll understand.”
“You did… this all . . for me?”
“I’d do anything for you, Blaine.  I love you.”
Blaine’s head whipped around quickly.  They had never admitted it to each other before. Those three words lingered heavily between them every time they were together, hovering just on the tip of Blaine’s tongue. He stood there for a moment, shocked, his mouth opening and closing as he tried to grasp for the words to say in return.
“K …Kurt  …”
“I … well . . I,” Kurt sputtered as he realized what he blurted out.  “You . .you don’t have to say it back … I …Oh my god . . I “
Blaine surged forward to capture Kurt’s face in his hands, kissing him quickly.  “I love you too, “ Blaine whispered. “I love you so, goddamn much.”
Kurt threw his arms around Blaine, burying his face in Blaine’s  curls.  “Say it again.” he told Blaine.
“I love you.”
“One more time.”
“I love you.”
Kurt gripped Blaine tighter.  Blaine loved him.  “I love you.” He whispered back.
“Oh . . and yes.” Blaine added quickly.
“Yes?” Asked Kurt.
“The job.  Yes.  I’ll take it, if  the offer’s still on the table.”
Kurt shrieked and practically tackled Blaine’s to the ground. Blaine laughed as he tried to steady the both of them before they fell over.
“Happy Birthday, Blaine.”
“Best birthday ever.”
Kurt pulled back with a sly look on his face.  “Well, I don’t know about that.  I did have one more birthday surprise up my sleeve.”
“Kurt, really . . you didn’t have to . .”
Kurt wiggled out of Blaine’s embrace, sauntering away while swinging both his hips and the heavy set of keys on his finger.
“So, you have no interest in checking out my new office? Because I was hoping to give it a good, thorough christening.” He threw Blaine a very pointed look and smirk as he slowly backed away .
Blaine lost his ability to speak again as all the blood rushed from his head to a specific location “south of the equator.”
“Did I break you?” Kurt teased as he kept edging away.  “Are you coming?”  He waggled his eyebrows at Blaine and dropped his voice seductively.  “Do you want to?”
“Oh, dear god, yes . .” Blaine said as he ran towards Kurt, who sprinted away towards the cabins laughing.
Best birthday ever.

Tis the Damn Season
Day 14: Upset
AO3
Christmas Eve at the Anderson house used to be a quiet affair. Just the four of them eating dinner, fighting over which Christmas movie to watch, and getting to open one present before bed. Since Blaine turned 16, things shifted. Pam and William Anderson threw huge blow-out holiday parties. Family, friends, old classmates, everyone was invited.
Blaine had asked Kurt to come but Kurt’s family still celebrated a quiet night in. Kurt wasn’t too sure he’d be able to make an appearance. And Blaine tried to enjoy the festivities, his old Dalton friends didn’t seem to find anything amiss but Cooper could tell Blaine was upset.
“Hey, try not to look so down when mom comes around,” Cooper suggested, “you know how she gets.”
Blaine understood. His mother would stop the whole party and question her son’s mood. He wanted anything other than attention tonight.
“Sorry, it’s just…”
“Kurt, I know.” Cooper patted him on the shoulder and steered them into the kitchen. “Try to have some fun.”
Cooper poured himself more eggnog and grabbed a glass for Blaine.
“Drinking? Really?”
Cooper just glared at him.
“Oh c’mon Blainey, if I was trying to get you drunk it wouldn't be with eggnog, this kind is non-alcoholic anyway.”
An hour later found Blaine sitting around the fireplace with his Dalton buddies. They were in the midst and recounting yet another Sectionals where Blaine’s solo was the tipping point to a Warbler win or so they claimed.
“And then the spotlight BAM!” Matt said
“There’s Blaine Anderson center stage…” Wes continues.
Blaine finds it easy to get lost here. In the memories with his high school best friends. He remembers how good it feels to be wanted, to be included. This is special. He wonders if the other Warblers know just how special it is.
“Sorry, I hope I’m not interrupting.”
Blaine knows that voice. It snaps him right out of his head.
Kurt made it.
“You’re here, I thought…” Blaine trails off.
“Yeah, I didn’t think I’d make it but my dad practically kicked me out of the house. He thinks I don’t get out enough with people my age.”
Blaine smiled. “My parents are the same way.”
The Warblers murmured in agreement.
Which is when Blaine remembers he’s not alone with Kurt.
“Oh geez, guys this is Kurt. We go to school together.”
“Kurt, these are the Warblers. Well, former Warblers.”
“No way! You did glee, me too!”
“Oh no, don’t tell us you’re from McKinley,” Wes said.
“And what if I am,” Kurt said, crossing his arms.
“You kicked our butts sophomore year,” Matt replied.
“Well, my freshman,” Blaine reminded them.
Kurt gets this faraway look on his face as if he’s trying to remember that competition.
“Noooo, you weren’t the lead singer, were you?” Kurt asked.
Blaine nods, a little nervous as to where this is heading.
“I had the biggest crush on you but definitely too scared to have done anything about it.”
For a second, Blaine thinks he may faint.
The Warblers and “oooo-ing” and “aw-ing” like fireworks are going off in the room and not just inside Blaine’s stomach.
“Well, now you have to sit and tell us everything, Kurt,” Wes instructed, patting the open spot beside him.
“And I’ll pour the eggnog,” Nick said.

🛼GLEE CLUB GO ROLLER SKATING 🛼
Rachel: Thinks she's really good and is going ok but falls over after about 20 minutes which causes her to storm off but she rejoins after she's calmed down
Finn: Is decent but keeps crashing into the wall and fell over a few times
Quinn: Graceful but sticks close to the sides and doesn't really let go until near the end
Santana: Good skater, fast and confident and can do some tricks, probably wears inline skates instead of quads
Brittany: Same as Santana and at times, they go round holding hands
Kurt: Pretty graceful but never skates very fast and sticks near to the sides incase he need to grab onto them
Mercedes: Sticks near the sides and falls over a lot which causes her to get the giggles with Quinn
Blaine: Very skilled and wears inline skates and zooms around the rink, although he takes time out to skate with Kurt
Sam: Pretty good and speedy but attempts a trick a falls over which humbles him and he returns to skating normally
Puck: Skates very fast and shows off which causes him to get a bit reckless. He falls over but that doesn't stop him. Everyone else tries to skate away from him incase he knocks them over too.
Tina: Only skates holding Mike's hand and takes him down with her on the only time she fell over
Mike: Extremely skilled skater but tones it down for Tina. Towards the end of the session he shows of his skills and impresses everyone
Sugar: Refuses to partake because the hire skates are unhygienic and she doesn't want to mix with the poor people. She watches from the side with snacks
Joe: Skates were a shock to him, as he was still getting used to closed toed shoes. He is not very good and falls over too much so gives up and watches from the side to cheer the others on
Rory: Decent skater but cannot do any tricks or skate very fast so sticks near the sides just incase
BONUS HEADCANONS
Rachel definitely brought her own pair of personalised pink roller skates instead of using the ones available to hire because she thinks it's unhygienic to hire things
Mercedes and Quinn go round the edges together and get the giggles to the point where they need to sit down because they are laughing so hard
Everyone, especially Rachel and Kurt, sing along to every song that plays through the speakers
Santana and Brittany race each other around the rink when they're not holding hands
Finn leaves the rink before the session is over because he's tired of crashing into things so he goes and gets a drink and cheers Rachel on from the side

Okay, okay, you twisted my arm 😉😉 I'll tell you about the plot bunny my Kurtbastian feelings have given me.
Tagging @annepi-blog and @kurtsascot since they're encouraging the plot bunny to take root.
Okay, so this might be a Kurtbastian-centric Sebklaine fic, or it might just be a Kurtbastian fic where they’re friends with Blaine, the boys will inform me which it is as I write. Either way, Blaine will exist and will be the catalyst for our favorite idiots realizing they love each other.
This is loosely inspired by What a Feeling by Klaineitupanotch, so the basics are: Kurtbastian fwb, they meet Blaine, they both want to fuck Blaine, they have a pseudo competition over who can woo Blaine, and in the end, they realize how important they are to each other.
So, Rachel and Kurt have been living together since moving to New York but things are really not working out and Kurt is on the verge of murdering her, or at the very least completely destroying their friendship. As he is bitching about this to Sam and his friend Nick (it’s canon that Sam attended an all-boys school prior to going to McKinley so in this universe, that all-boys school was Dalton) and Nick has an idea. A possibly terrible idea, but an idea nonetheless.
Nick’s friend Sebastian (who Sam knows but isn’t particularly close with since Sebastian transferred to Dalton after he had left) has a spare room in his apartment. He’s not exactly looking for someone to rent it out, since he owns the apartment outright thanks to his parents, but Nick knows he gets lonely in that place all alone.
Sam thinks it’s a terrible idea because he is certain that Kurt and Sebastian will kill each other, but Nick thinks it’d be really good for Sebastian to not be able to cut himself off from everyone when he’s in a mood.
Kurt moves in and it goes… about as well as you’d expect. Sebastian hits on Kurt, Kurt rebukes him, they fight, rinse, repeat, etc. But after a month or so they fall into a rhythm together and things settle. Sebastian, for all his selfishness, did attend boarding school all his life and is used to sharing space, unlike Rachel who was the epitome of a spoiled only child.
And as time goes on, they even become friends and their morning bickering is almost a ritual, and on the days when one of them has to leave before the other gets up, it throws them off kilter a little.
And with friendship comes Sebastian attempting to play wingman, there’s only one problem. Kurt’s a virgin and wants his first time to at least be with someone he trusts, even if he’s given up on the fantasy of being in love and having his first be his last. And the guys Sebastian tries to set him up with at bars and parties, do not fit the bill for either of those scenarios.
One night, after a particularly rough clubbing experience that leaves even Sebastian without a hookup, they end up back at their apartment bitching about the assholes they’d danced with and drinking some more.
And then Kurt says, “If you weren’t such an asshole, I’d trust you enough with my first time if only to get it over with.”
And Sebastian freezes. “What did you just say?”
Kurt rolls his eyes. “If I wasn’t positive you’d laud the fact that you took my virginity over me for the rest of our lives, I think I’d feel safe enough with you to do it.”
“I wouldn’t laud that over you,” Sebastian says softly. He knows how important feeling safe during that experience is to Kurt and if he entrusted it to him, he’d do the best he could to make sure he got that.
And in a world where they’re not idiots they’d like, discuss this, and make a plan of it for some time in the future when they’re sober. But where’s the fun in that when they can instead hook up while they’re both drunk enough to only half remember it in the morning?
And yeah, basically from there they end up regularly sleeping together, to the point that Sebastian rarely goes looking for someone else, and Kurt only has one or two, not-great hookups with people who aren’t Sebastian.
And then Blaine comes in (in this world he attended neither Dalton or McKinley) and they both take a shine to him, but Blaine is uninterested in casual sex, but Sebastian encourages Kurt to keep going for it, since he knows he wants a relationship some day, but as Kurt and Blaine grow closer, Kurt starts to realize that if he starts dating Blaine… he’d have to stop seeing Sebastian. And he doesn’t understand why that idea feels like a punch to the gut.
And that’s most of what I got at the moment.

Anti-buddie people keep saying that Fox can’t write slowburn romances, but Bones had a 6 season will they/won’t they with Booth and Bones. Even when they confessed feelings it still took a season or more to get together, and the writers said it would’ve gone on longer if the actress playing Bones wasn’t pregnant at the time. Soooo Fox can definitely have shows will slow burn.
Bones also did a sperm donor plot, a coma dream, Booth was an army guy, relationships that don’t work, Booth was a father (divorced), they have so many overlaps
Hi Nonnie! Thank you for the ask.
Wow, I did not realize that anti-Buddie people were saying that. Well, maybe Buddie won’t go canon, but it’s not because Fox “can’t write slow burn romances.” I mean, to begin with, networks don’t write anything, that’s the creative team and it’s a different one for each show. Networks can choose to avoid or focus on certain types of stories, but why would any of them want to avoid slow burn romances? It’s one of the most effective tropes to get people hooked up and emotionally invested long term. It’s good for viewership, which is what networks are all about.
And yes, in the case of Fox, it did Bones (I love what you pointed out about the story arcs Bones and Booth went through! Thank you for sharing), and I’d like to add that they also did The X-Files. I do believe Mulder and Scully are one of the longer cases of slow burn romances in TV history! And let’s not forget, that show’s creator actually actively came out against the shippers. Yet, it was clear that he always played with the element of “will they, won’t they?” and whether it was the original intent or not for the couple to go canon or to continue to play with ambiguity to the end, by season 7 Mulder and Scully share a romantic kiss for the first time. I have never watched this show, BTW. But this is a part of TV history, this slow burn romance is that notable, Buzzfeed even noted it as the #1 slow burn 100% worth waiting for, which says something about its perceived cultural impact.
Also? Fox made Glee, which gave us Blaine and Kurt. I know that they were not a slow burn in hetero terms. Blaine first appeared in 206, and before the end of 216, they kiss. That’s a gap of just 11 eps, it’s not even a season. But it is half a season, and you gotta remember, this was back in 2010. You might have noticed, I’m fascinated with history in general, with TV history, as well as the history of gay representation. So...
It took television A BLOODY LONG TIME to introduce gay characters as anything more than a joke. It took even longer for them to get partners, and then it was almost universally a pre-established relationship because that made the gays non-threatening. Let me explain what I mean by that.
Once gays were allowed to exist as more than a joke, shows usually featured one gay character at most as a part of the regular cast. At first they were completely sterilized, they existed as a representation of a gay person and the discrimination they suffer, their wish to be accepted, but those characters weren’t allowed love, desire, dating, partnerships... the very things that tie into being gay! Then, when that became too ridiculous and some viewers demanded better rep (see for example back in 2000, Will and Jack’s kiss on Will & Grace, which wasn’t even romantic, it was just about demanding the right to see gay characters kiss), gay characters got to have a romantic life, but to make sure there was no fear of them crushing, seducing or “corrupting” straight characters, they would get a very minor character as a partner, with shows just telling us that as a fact, without any interest in telling the story of how they met, how they fell in love, how they got together... As I said, pre-established. They were a fact, not a love story.
Slowly that got better as well, gay characters started getting real love lives and stories dedicated to who they fell in love (or into bed) with. But we still often see that even now, when gay characters are allowed to fall in love or get together with each other, it’s usually a fast burn. There's dating, but the characters usually get together within 2-4 eps at most, once again quickly removing the “threat” that they posed to the unchallenged heterosexuality of all the other characters. We have a few exception, but that’s still generally the rule. Even Tarlos on 911 LS are no exception to it.
So 12 years ago, making the audience wait for 11 eps for Kurt and Blaine to kiss, while also throwing in an obstacle in their way, in the shape of another guy Blaine was crushing on and the way Blaine didn’t look at Kurt romantically, that was actually the closest thing to a gay slow burn we had up to that point. It was worth it, too! Viewers lost their minds when the kiss happened, people shared vids of their reactions to watching the kiss, it made waves. You won’t find Kurt and Blaine on any slow burn list, but this mattered so much, especially the enthusiastic response.
Now we’re in 2022 and I still can’t think of a slower burn for a same sex couple than Kurt and Blaine. Not even Victor and Benji on Love, Victor, a show dedicated to telling a queer coming out story AND a gay romance. It takes them just 7 eps to get to the moment where Victor kisses Benji, or if you prefer, 10 eps to get together. Or take Blackbeard and Stede on Our Flag Means Death. Again, 10 eps and they kiss for the first time. And it’s a damn brave decision to make the whole show revolve around this romance! But it’s still nothing compared to opposite sex slow burn. I might be forgetting a ship or there’s a notable queer story I missed, please correct me if so. But as far as I’m aware, Fox is still the record holder on gay slow burn before the first kiss. At just 11 eps! Just half a season!
And that’s why I stand by what I said in my Buddie shipper statement, the first thing I ever posted about them: if Buddie goes canon, it would be a HISTORICAL MOMENT in the development of gay television. It would BREAK A GLASS CEILING that we’re currently experiencing in gay representation. It would be phenomenal and make 911 go down in TV history. It will be the first ever REAL slow burn for a gay couple. And Fox can do it. Just like when with Glee, it raised the bar, and proved that people were genuinely enthusiastic about a gay couple and were willing to wait for it for a while and cheer all the louder once the two got together, so Fox has a chance to make another breakthrough now with Buddie (and remain the undisputed queen when it comes to gay slow burn).
IDK if Buddie will go canon, but if they won’t, it won’t be because of any kind of bad record Fox has when it comes to slow burn.
Thank you again, sorry for the length! As always, here’s my ask tag, and if you’re interested in some of my other gay-related meta, you can find some of it here. Have a great day! xoxox

Is there any Fanfiction where kurt or blaine are arrested? Either by innocent or guilty people? Maybe they met in prison, or maybe they are already together and one of them is arrested, even if innocent. (Not mafia style or toxic relationship stories)

Here are some:
You Stole My Breath Away by teilo
Blaine is an FBI agent assigned to the Art Crime Team. He is investigating a rash of valuable works of art that have been stolen and at one point belonged to Jewish families during World War II.

Catch Me If You Can Verse by  afterthenovels
In the end, catching Kurt Hummel is definitely not what Blaine expected.
Special Agent Blaine Anderson catches con-man and art thief extraordinaire Kurt Hummel twice, and on the second time they strike a deal. They’re supposed to just solve white collar crimes together, but they might even end up solving each other in the process.
A White Collar AU.
~~~~~
Perfectly imperfect by @catcat-85
Golden Globe winning actor, Blaine Anderson went to prison for a murder he did not commit. After 5 long years, he has escaped from prison, and in a desperate need to get to a safe house before he can leave the country; he kidnaps Kurt, and forced him to drive him to a secluded cabin nestled in between the snowy mountains in Vermont. For Blaine, it’s his last chance for freedom. Falling in love is the last thing on Blaine’s mind. It’s not part of the plan. And for Kurt, it’s a terrifying situation that disrupts the impeccably perfect life he has created for himself. He’s outraged and angry at Blaine, and yet; he can’t help but believe Blaine is innocent.
Will the truth finally come out and Blaine be exonerated? Will the FBI catch him and put him back in prison? Will he and Kurt fall in love even in the most hopeless situation? Will love truly prevail all at the end?
Based on the novel, Perfect, by Judith McNaught. This is a story about two men who are complete opposites from one another; and yet, they complete each other in a perfectly imperfect way.
blaine in blame it on the alchol has always been so interesting to me, and i wish that the episode was told more from his perspective. what always stands out are the things he says to kurt - it’s more confusing for him, and he’s trying to figure out who he is.
i wonder a lot about his journey with being gay to this point. perhaps he’s always had these questions, and came out before truly being sure of who he is, and if there’s one thing about blaine, he can fake confidence. it might be a degree of projecting, but i get this idea that, despite being “out and proud,” blaine still has a lot of insecurity about his sexuality, and, maybe just a little bit, is seeing if his attraction to rachel is real because of this insecurity. this seems very possible when, in the very next episode, blaine drops the absolute bomb that keeps me up at night that, at the very least in his mind, his father has tried to “make him straight,” and when later we learn about the sadie hawkins incident.
this is a kid who has been attacked for who he is, who believes his father doesn’t accept him, of course kissing a girl under the influence could give him these thoughts that maybe that is a possibility for him. his relationship with his dad could be better, it might make the world safer for him. but in the end he has to accept that that isn’t who he is. to me, that’s a much more compelling story than kurt’s side of things, and i think a really relatable plotline for someone like me who identified other ways for a long time because the idea of being gay was difficult.
and an aside: this could all work so well into klaine getting together in t-minus two episodes. what if blaine demonstrably sees how his feelings for rachel are not the same things he feels for kurt? what if the security this episodes conclusion gives him of knowing who he is makes him more ready to be with kurt? much to think about.
Klaine and 8 for the kiss prompt list :)
this one also ended up being longer than originally intended, hope it's not terrible <3
8: ...in secrecy
Blaine is used to the sneaking around. He’s used to short moments and corners where no one can see them and kisses that feel stolen even though they’re freely given. He’s used to having to keep whatever he and Kurt are a secret. What he’s still not used to is how much it hurts, how there’s always that ache in his chest around Kurt, how he wants so much more than whatever it is they are.
Whatever thoughts are running through his brain get cut off when there’s a locker door opening next to where he’s leaning against his own locker and Puckerman pointing out to him (as if he’s not perfectly aware of himself), “You’re ogling Hummel’s ass again.”
“It’s a good ass,” Blaine says with a shrug. “Is there some rule against staring now?”
“Only that staring is the most you’re allowed to do. I’ve told you man, cheerleaders are trouble for guys like us.”
“Says the guy who’s slept with half of them…”
“Like I said, trouble. Guys like us are the kind of people they’ll sleep with but won’t date. Cheerios don’t look at guys like us and see something long-term.” Puckerman’s locker closes again and he walks away.
As much as Blaine hates to think that maybe Puck is right, maybe Puck is right. After all, he and Kurt have been sneaking around and keeping whatever they are a secret for the past couple months. Because the Head Cheerio shouldn’t be seen with the guy with the pierced eyebrow and the leather jacket who skips class to smoke and gets into fights in the hallways. So they’re not seen together. So they know just about every corner of the school where they can kiss and not get caught.
They meet up in one of the backstage wings of the auditorium during Kurt’s study hall period, because it’s easy enough for Kurt to sneak out of the library unnoticed and because Blaine always skips the last half of his history class and because the auditorium is always empty then and because they’re hidden away from everything else there. Sometimes, he lets himself think it’s almost romantic, the two of them in a quiet, empty auditorium with just the dim lighting from the backstage lanterns.
Kurt pushes open the door and greets him with a smile and a whispered "Hey" before his lips are on his own and his arms circle around his shoulders, holding him close.
"Missed you," Kurt murmurs when they stop kissing, their foreheads still pressed together.
"Missed you too," Blaine says back, a smile playing on his lips. It doesn't matter that he just saw Kurt this morning, he did miss him. And he knows that that's true for Kurt too. He doesn't need them to be boyfriends or whatever to know that.
He doesn't need them to be boyfriends or whatever to know what he feels for Kurt. To know that when Kurt kisses him, he feels electric. To know that if all Kurt does want him to be to him is the boy he kisses in secret, he'd do it again and again and again.
That doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt a little when he remembers that after this, they have to go back to barely interacting around the school. It does hurt a little. It hurts a little when he can't walk out of the auditorium hand in hand with Kurt, but Kurt still holds his hand till the last second before he walks out completely. There's that ache in his chest. It sucks. Keeping whatever they are a secret sucks.
What doesn't suck is Kurt’s lips moving against his own and their bodies close together. What doesn't suck is the thrill of sneaking around, having their own secret. And if that's all Kurt wants to give him, then he'll take that. He'll take all he can get of secret kisses and whatever they are. Because he might just implode if he has to give that up right now.
Guess I gotta share Anni's Cryptophasia playlist lol. But also if anyone wants to send me more asks please feel free to send this one again because there are so many random playlists I'd like to share lol.
🛼 ⇢ describe your latest wip with five emojis
🗼💇‍♀️🎸🐴🏮
🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
Ummm...gonna go left field and share a blam (Sam/Blaine from Glee) headcanon since I feel slightly strange about calling RPF stuff headcanons in the same way, but:
Sam pretty much returns Blaine's crush as soon as he realises Blaine has a crush on him, but he doesn't figure out that's how he feels for a while because he's like 'Blaine is just my good bro, right?' and also doesn't realise bisexuality exists/that's a thing he can be. Then he opens up to Brittany about it (since, you know, he's dating her, and she is also bisexual) and she's like "yeah Sam you can like both" so Sam is like yay yippee I have a crush on Blaine but is still a little in denial about it since he's. You know. Still in a relationship. This is why he's so weirdly pushy about Blaine admitting his crush on Sam to him in Guilty Pleasures. Anyway angsty ending Sam doesn't tell Blaine before Blaine gets engaged to Kurt and now it's too awkward to come out to him since his discovery of his sexuality was BECAUSE of Blaine (and maybe emotional affair shenanigans happen in New York and they get together eventually). And that's what you missed on Glee!
🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
Definitely like, detailed comments that point specific things they liked (and why) out. Also love when a comment is just someone going insane though.
