What about writers and chat gpt?

same principal. Whether you hire a human writer to write your ideas into a novel or you use the AI to do it you're still using an external source to do the writing for you rather than being a writer yourself. And again I don't really think AI is an effective tool to help someone grow their writing skill or help a disabled person become a writer since the generative function also means results are going to be randomized and very limited in what it's actually going to be able to do for you. Even if it generates a serviceable result it's not going to be able to output a consistent quality or style, it's just a machine's closest approximation of what you want based on how it understands a prompt. I could put out a detailed prompt and hold a writing contest and get a bunch of random people to write me something then pick out which story I liked best. I have a story, possibly a good one, but I did not write it and therefore cannot call myself an author. That is effectively what Gen AI is an alternative for commissioning a writer. You didn't make this. I would even argue it's not really a good disability aid as it doesn't actually assist you in making your creation, it creates in place of you. And I'm speaking as someone who has always struggled a lot with both reading and writing and who frequently uses aids when they are available to me. Whether it's writing with more spacing or dyslexia friendly formatting. I don't write completely unassisted.

There are plenty of writing tools you can use if you struggle with writing, I sometimes do audio recordings of my writing and have my partner help me transcribe it when I find the actual process of writing to be overwhelming or difficult. But I do write. It is still my words, my characters, my prose, such as it is. It may not be good or up to a professional standard of writing, but it is unquestionably my work and that's really the crux of what makes an artist or writer. I had to painstakingly learn how to slow down and organize my thoughts and learn how to make an outline and a draft. Any skill is going to take a measure of work or dedication and for a lot of us that is going to be difficult. At some point we do have to accept that there will be things we can't do and some of our setbacks cannot be compensated for even with assistance. There will be times when you do have to let go of the notion of making something "good" and focus on making it because you want to create something. Generative AI created content will never be anyone's work. I don't care how much skill it takes to input the prompt or how long it takes to filter through the results and give suggestions for changes. That's literally what a client does when they hire an artist or writer but in this case your artist/writer is a subscription to an AI program. It's not different and the fact that this is even in question seems weird to me. We don't call people writers when they hire an author to pen a work for them. So it stands to reason that we wouldn't call them writers if they ask a program to do it.

Not right on all the specifics it's not like I never said his parents weren't neglectful but he simply did just kill random unrelated children who he just saw wandering away from their parents.

Like obviously nothing would have made this better but I at least tried to give y'all some leeway. Like okay people believe the child is related to Haruka in someway well maybe these kids are someone his parents paid attention to outside of him.

Yet actually no his parents simply did clock out from parenting and had to be informed by the police he was doing this.

Haruka's parents when he was having consistent reading difficulties because they were too ashamed to get extra help earlier on in his studies. So then the issues persisted into high school,

Literally have not done any of the things they could have due to internalized ableism.

I'm digressing but I did interrogate the kids being related to him or at least near him in some way. Such as his mom babysitting kids of friends or neighbors or just kids she interacted with in their neighborhood. Because outside of that the only alternative was people believing those were family members or family friends.

I was at least correct in the fact that they lived in the neighborhood.

But nope those are random kids that this twenty-three year old (ahahahah- *cough* eh-hem sorry it's still funny) killed. Not even his own neglectful parents just random children trying to enjoy being outside- Alright, bet. Outside of that how Mu watched this man die and acted like it was a surprise like Haruka you're not eating- meanwhile this man on ground who is skin and bones.

Like there weren't even multiple trays in there.

There wasn't shit hidden under the bed. His room was spotless she took trays there every day and watched this man waste away. Oh if that's not a death sentence served I don't know what is.

Side note the prisoners cells have doors and windows.

The lighting coming from behind Haruka seems to be coming through a window while not necessarily showing the outside of the facility as it may only show another lit up area within the Milgram facility. Since the light behind him doesn't seem like natural lighting.

The door is also wooden so fic writers are eating good today-

So the prisoners outside of the lack of locks all have private rooms of their own. Haruka has not requested anything to be in his room as it's very barebones but uh this is good to know.

Also each of the prisoners cells seem to have fifteen functioning cameras in them but we get no angles showing Mu's face alright. None of those fifteen cameras could pick that up I'm kidding they could they just didn't pick footage from those cameras for some reason. These cameras are more than likely what picks up the audio relayed to the audience through the portal timeline on the app.

Hey are you ready for Shidou and Mahiru's reports because I fucking am. This is gonna be hilarious. I can't wait to see how long the timeline of doing this over and over is for them. Haruka only did this shit twice. They did it to how many people?

I love how they had him discard the things Mu gave him. Not just the hairclips but the shoes on the floor beside him that many suspected she picked out,

This leads to him dying without shoes like the current guilty prisoners no longer have shoes in their restraints.

All while he clung to his actual mom's necklace and called out to her as he died,

How The YV Tumblr Functions

In general, you can send me questions through the Ask Box, and you'll spot me posting in the #yuurivoice tag plus additional tags for specific characters and series. That's about the most organization you're gonna get because my brain is capable of just about that much before I'll forget something and miscategorize things.

That also being said, be wary of various triggers. For anything big and obvious, I'll try and tag, but I won't be getting super granular in that regard. This also relates to my brain, because if someone asks "hey can you tag (specific thing)" I promise you I will end up forgetting then the person I said I'd look out for gets smacked in the face. So it's less about "idgaf" and more that in cases where I feel I cannot personally protect an individual, I'd rather them protect themselves and just know my big dumb ass will fail them.

Some general notes, boundaries, etc:

I'm literally just a guy checking his app at 3am on the shitter, there will be typos, I will forget things, if someone makes me uncomfortable I'll tell them

My tone may not always be clear, no I will not consistently use indicators, the best you're getting out of me is a lol or an emoji

Q: Who is your favorite character to voice? A: Depends at the time you ask me, in general I enjoy them all a great deal because I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it. But in truth, Alphonse (and Charlie) are probably the easiest for me to slide right into and that makes doing the work easy. Not sure if that's a "favorite" but ease of work matters significantly to me because ADHD.

Q: When will you do a (insert character) audio? A: Bold of you to assume I know when I'm doing anything at all. I am always contemplating when the next audio for a character will be, but my interests come and go in waves. If you ask me kindly on any given day, I'll probably give you a genuine answer. If you ask this in relation to content getting posted that wasn't that character, I will tell you to go fuck yourself. It's all about time and place. lol

Q: When will the next (insert series) video be out? A: Again, bold of you to assume I know, but also the answer is always changing for every series. BitterSweet and its associated projects are the most committed and consistent I've been with any artist pursuit in my entire life. Again, if you just ask me how a project is going on any given day, I'll likely give you an update. Just know that I heap an immense amount of pressure onto myself, so ask gently otherwise I'll feel guilty and cry about it. Not really, but also, don't test me.

Q: Are you taking commissions? A: Nope, haven't taken commissions in a loooooong time, and don't foresee it happening again, with a few exceptions for fundraisers and giveaways.

Q: I have this headcanon that (insert character fact). A: Don't ask me to confirm your headcanons, I will forget what anonymous message a Tumblr user asked me one day out of the blue and what my answer was. I avoid giving factoids, granular details, etc. because I'll just absolutely forget it the moment I hit post. I encourage you to use your imagination and don't bother seeking me for validation, you should just have fun playing pretend because that's exactly what got us here in the first place! <3

Q: Did (insert character) do this because (insert idea)? A: Any question like this that specifically asks for deliberate information that would lead to a spoiler, character revelation, etc. is not worth asking. While I appreciate that you might be asking the correct question, the whole reason I wrote the plot to make you ask that question is that you'd get that answer in the content itself, not from some asshole on the internet on a Tumblr blog (aka me).

Q: Why did you start making audios/YT videos/etc? A: In 2016, the anime Yuri!!! on Ice was a phenomenon that took the internet, and my life, by storm. I started this blog to make audios for the protagonist Yuuri Katsuki, as a hobby and way to participate in the fandom. Eventually, people wanted to commission me. Then, other characters and voices, specifically Guzma (Pokemon), Sidon (LoZ Breath of the Wild), and Aizawa (My Hero Academia) exploded in popularity and increased my following. When the Tumblr apocalypse happened and NSFW content was getting nuked, I pivoted to YouTube. I began to create original characters to fulfill standard Boyfriend Experience and Erotic audios, and slowly a connective narrative started to take shape, eventually becoming BitterSweet.

Q: What inspired you to make BitterSweet? A: Alphonse was originally inspired by my Stardew Valley character, which also inspired the setting of his audios. Seth was created to be a rival to Alphonse, with a visual novel style branching path for listeners to enjoy if they wanted Seth. However, as I began to write, I discovered a much deeper story between the two characters and I chose to follow that thread over the standard moment to moment experience style scenario. Several episodes later, it became clear that this was a narrative series that wasn't quite like my past work. The themes and ideas largely spawn from my own lived experiences, wrapped up in two pretty boys and their listener as they experience the healing magic of love in all of its forms!

Q: Is the BitterSweet Trio polyamorous? A: During the course of BitterSweet, Alphonse and Boo share their unconditional love with Seth, hoping to nurture the parts of him that have weathered away with time and trauma. This love is explicitly undefined, so that listeners can interpret the relationship dynamic as best suits them, as the trio represents no one specific type of love, but rather the healing of unconditional love. For some that may be best experienced romantically, and others may prefer it to be platonically, or even familially.

The beauty of it is that there is no incorrect interpretation, and every possibility is equally valid. This medium of self insert audio content allows for a collaborative fantasy between creator and listener, and is a strength unto itself.

Q: I need clarity on this specific plot point/lore thing! A: I'm typically happy to answer non-spoilery questions, but also I am actively working on a Wiki that should help folks who need a quick reference for any particular character or story!

Q: Can I make fanart/fanfic/cosplay of your characters? Is it okay if it's NSFW? A: Yes, you can do as you please! I'm a big believer in not having a ton of control and say in what people do with my art once it's in the world. We've reached the point where they're not just my little OCs, but whole ass characters and stories that people engage with, and I believe in letting y'all do what you want without my approval!

Q: How do you feel about generative AI/character AI/etc.? A: I would appreciate all of my works being as far away from AI anything as possible, whether it's visual, audio, or written. This is the one thing where my "it's y'alls business" approach doesn't apply, and I'd appreciate the extra consideration.

i don’t really do speed painting (mostly bc i often work in fits and starts over many weeks) but i do have a few time lapse videos posted here, here, and here from recent months that might help! they're all from the same piece but there's some variety in technique, and i think they're a good example of the difference that pose & palette make, even if the changes are subtle.

my process usually consists of a reference stage (i love to make a little vision board with lots of poses, expressions, paintings I'm trying to channel, etc.), a very messy sketch stage (for me these are never meant to be pretty, just functional in terms of shape and composition- they are a map to the destination, not the destination itself!), and a coloring stage over top of the sketch. for coloring, i have a few palettes saved for various skin tones, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of it. there is also a secret fourth stage sometimes, in which i get very frustrated and give up for like six months and come back with totally fresh eyes. there is no shame in the fourth stage. it happens to everybody.

WHAT ARE SUBLIMINALS?

subliminals are audio affirmations hidden under music or sounds of nature, they are aimed at changing internal attitudes, changing internal and external states

there are subliminals aimed at correcting health in all its manifestations (there are "local" subliminals that are aimed at healing a specific organ/state); there are also subliminals aimed at transforming consciousness, any external characteristics and defects, etc.

it is worth saying that there are countless subliminals, it is only important to know which subliminals can be useful!

HOW DO SUBLIMINALS WORK?

passing through our consciousness, which does not perceive voice instructions disguised under various sounds, so positive affirmations get into our subconscious, where they are fixed. our consciousness is a unique mechanism and sometimes it is capable of independently putting up blocks, thereby preventing ordinary affirmations that we ourselves pronounce from being fixed. therefore, we can say that subliminals have the ability to deceive our consciousness

WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR EFFECTIVE LISTENING?

it is worth starting with the fact that there are two main types of subliminals:

subliminals created on the basis of binaural beats (usually, this is indicated in the description of the subliminals), such subliminals are usually listened to either in a calm state or while running/walking and in both headphones;

subliminals created on the basis of ordinary affirmations disguised as music/nature noise. such subliminals can be listened to anywhere and in any way: you can listen without headphones, you can listen while you are doing your own thing (writing, drawing, cooking, washing, etc. - which, by the way, you can’t do when listening to subs based on binaural beats)

you can listen to subs as many times as you like + include listening to them in your list of “daily rituals” - for the desired results to appear faster, consistency and regularity are necessary!

how not to get hung up on the results and how to get maximum results after listening to any sub (in general, I want to combine these two topics, because if you do not get hung up on the results, then, a priori, you get what you want)

what advice could I give, based on my experience of listening to subs?

work with thinking, first of all! - add subliminals to your playlist that remove internal blocks and limitations; add subs that help your subconscious "earn" at full capacity; add boosters; also, do not underestimate meditation (at one time they really helped me calm down and achieve harmony, from which the subs began to act more effectively)

try to just lag behind yourself. yes, that's right. continue listening to subliminals, but remove all sorts of expectations from your head. the only thoughts you should have are "yes, I know that the results WILL STILL BE", "I just know that EVERYTHING WILL HAPPEN EXACTLY THE WAY I WANT"

stop going to the mirror every second and looking at how your appearance has/hasn't changed, stop waiting for anything, and just believe that everything will happen exactly the way you want. the only thing you can't know is the time frame in which certain changes will happen to you. and there will still be cuts after listening to subs, it's just that for some people they will be more or less pronounced

also, in order not to get hung up on cuts, you can find yourself a certain hobby (my hobby is video editing, where I am very distracted from all sorts of thoughts and listen to subs during it, just like that)

I would advise people who are not very receptive to subs to turn on subs at night and fall asleep with them, because our subconscious is on different frequencies during sleep and functions a little differently, being in a state of rest. therefore, as an option, listening to this can also be a good catalyst for the manifestation of the desired results

healthy sleep is also important (7-8 hours a day)

Your dom has bought a new appliance for their favourite robot, a shiny new keyboard that hooks into the back of your neck

It's a very special keyboard, you see every time they press down on a key, you get a small electric stimulation in an area of your body. Eager to test it out, your dom types

the quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog

A smile spreads across their face as you writhe and squirm, the electrical assault upon your body causing some 'interesting' audio outputs, as your dom puts it. They type it again, taking their time to establish which key connects to which part of your body. The less commonly used letters like z, j and q aren't too exciting, linked to your ankles, thumbs and nose but the most common oh well that's a different story

No5: o - the lightest of all the shocks because it goes through your skull, tingling your brain to ensure your software remains submissive

No4: i - jolts the back of your neck, making your eyes flicker up into the back of your head

No3: r - electrocutes your ass cheeks, going deeper than any spank possibly could

No2: e - shocks your inner thighs, bringing particular excitement to your dom as they quiver

Addressing a concern that affects all genuine collectors of old and independent media....

Granted, this may be an issue that has been brought up on other sites-and most likely, many years ago....yet, it's finally catching up to my lagging calculating mind.

There are still folks (like me) who like to collect used books, CDs, and records-even old cassette tapes (audio or video). They truly enjoy these items-not just putting them on some shelf in a glass case. These people go to huge book and media sales at libraries, malls, convention centers and what have you.

While there has always been the horror that someone can amass a large amount of items only to pass away and then burden their family or landlord to simply toss all those items out, there has been a more troubling horror on a larger scale that may lend to a more consistent trend of a throw-away culture.

When people go to these events to shop, they may see certain people there who do not give a royal f!ck about what they are grabbing. They pull around large carts and sift rapidly through piles of books and music putting them up to a handheld price-scanner to see if these rare items have any online worth. You may even see a whole group of them fanned out throughout the facility. Also, some of these functions have a special pre-sale day or pre-time span VIP sale where those who pay a nice fee can have the privilege of having first crack at the items available. It can be frustrating to think about what great artists and authors you have been looking for for a long time you missed out on because these "mill workers" come and hoard good titles (at a cheap price) before you get a chance. The difference being, you would actually enjoy the items, while they are indifferently there to rapidly grab (make acquisition) and sell for the sake of mass profit.

A little thing you gotta know about book and media mills. They do NOT care about what they sell. They often deal in high volume online sales and can marginally handle a chink of approval rating taken off because orders were mishandled or items not properly labeled, etc. One small mill can have a thousand orders a month and botch ten of them, notching their approval by one percent....but that still means ten folks got screwed that month. This was a always a problem with online sales for the last fifteen years or so when it comes to these mills that can afford to come and go and rebrand and so forth.

I have worked at six different book stores. One of them was helping my brother with a business he co-owned (a business that had been around since the 80s and closed around COVID). His partner told stories about how some mills (like one now closed in Ohio) are run with conveyor belts and huge Gaylord boxes for disposing that which will not sell. My brother and I, in order to make ends meet for our family in the 2010s, ran a small business on Ebay for 3 and half years. We had a high-rating, and we made sure to offer thorough descriptions of the old items we acquired. I, myself, had worked at a lot of estate sales, so, I had acquired some odd items over time. We later ran a high rated account selling on Amazon for over six years afterwards (yeah, I know, I know).

Keeping all that in mind, here is a major rub - My brother has recently gone back to selling some of his old LPs and a few other items on Amazon. I roll my eyes, but this is what he is doing while unemployed. Amazon has implemented new protocol when it comes to selling certain CDs, records and such online. They will now insist that the seller acquire full permission from the distributor (whether they still exist or not) in order to sell a certain rare but not all that expensive find (maybe something that would've easily sold for 8-10 dollars used at a used music store in the 90s or 2000s). This could be a hard to find item that has certain appeal to someone who likes Deutsche Grammophon classical releases but is only worth $10 online. Yet, now it's a pain in the butt to sell online. Normally, a small potatoes outfit (like what my brother has) might have the conscience to take this unsellable item and either sell it at their next garage sale or donate it to the next library sale, rather than throw it out (the trips I made to library booksales and the Salvation Army when our family had an emergency move two years ago were arduous and many-but I would not have had it any other way)......

HOWEVER, book and media mills do NOT think in this manner. They want to deal in volume in a fast-paced manner with no friction. Should they come to this roadblock regarding a rare (not all that expensive) item...it could be a CD or record of Sun Araw or Orthotonics or some local techno artist, they would rather toss it aside and straight-up dispose of it. They grabbed it just to throw it away. These items that would make many other people happy were yanked from accessibility by media mills and then added to the ever-growing throw-away culture.....and all of this is due in part to the actions of the media mills and this recent act Amazon has implemented.

Maybe Amazon thought it would discourage media mills. Maybe the media mills bother (heh) to try other platforms. Maybe they have apps on their scanners that warn that the items will require verification or other similar pushback. Maybe the media mills have a backup for properly handling unsellable items (very unlikely).

...yet, I am not seeing that. My recent visit last month to a huge media sale at a mall had me witnessing many of the mill workers still scouring and sifting about with their pullcarts and scanners. They do not care about what they grab, how it will be finally received online, how they will handle these difficult items in their pursuit of a fast-paced conveyor belt mass processing operation, or what will be the fate of the bulk of their stock should they find their little operation dissolving in the end.

You may already be noticing a stark difference between what was once readily available on Amazon and what scant things they have been offering in the last five years.

If you are a genuine lover of various forms of hard-copy media (and believe it or not, there was an odd resurgence in appreciation for audio cassettes following the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014)-many of them that are rare (but not all that expensive) releases of independent films and CDs, then reckon with the fact (and I do hope I am wrong about this-otherwise, I'm just very late to the party in piecing this dilemma together) that there will be a huge empty vacuum-of what was once cultural splendor-that will grow in years to come because of the greed of media mills and Amazon's bizarre protections of distributors.

I've been meaning to address this now for weeks, so thanks for being patient.

Kotori/Rio Stories & Duel Lines Testing | Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V TFSP Re-Translation Project (WIP) Project-Announcement Blog Post

ZEXAL DONE ✨

After finalizing GX 126 a couple weeks ago, I went ahead and got to work knocking out translations for both Kotori and Rio's story events, along with their in-duel lines and bios, and I'm glad I was able to squeeze them both in relatively efficiently 😌 I like that Kotori's events show her POV as Yuma is resolving to face off against the Barians, while Rio's have her somehow there for some of Shark's biggest moments… 🤔 Also thought it'd be nice using Merag's Theme in the video, lol. (Also, for Yuma's whole "imo-Shark"/"Sis Shark" nicknaming thing for Rio, I lifted "Sharkina" from Duel Links since I thought it would be a better way to get the "little Shark" idea across, lol. "You're pretty good, huh, Shark's sister!"/"Don't call me that..."/"Then, let's cut it down to Sharkina!")

I also went ahead and revised the in-duel duel-system dialogue text (for things like "Will you activate an effect?" etc) to be more accurate to the Japanese text as applicable, working off the FLSGaming ISO's version of the cardinfo_jpn.ehp file's DLG_Text_R.bin and comparing it to the extracted Japanese text, while also fixing a few errors that were missed there with some missing words or text-color-coding (and capitalizing "Monster" like I do everywhere--I'll also be updating that in the card descriptions as names are also updated). You might see some of it in the video, but most of it showed up in parts of the recordings that I didn't use because of audio stuttering too much, lol.

I actually finished up with them a bit over a week ago and wanted to whip something up, but I'd noticed an odd texture issue with the duelist and deck name boxes in the Opponent Select screen in Free Duel and Duel-Confirmation screen (after the rock/paper/scissors turn order is set) that I wanted to fix--which also happens in the original game. Details under the cut below, but tl;dr I did fix them up and they do look pretty spiffy.

Anywho, yeah, with this, ZEXAL's done and we've brought it to 'em--now, it's time for the Pendulum of the Soul to swing as I jump into ARC-V stuff! I've already done Yuya's story events and duel lines/bio as part of my announcement video work; once I finish work finalizing my subs for GX 127-128 [which should be done soon! I'm halfway through 128 now], I'll be reviewing what I did for any touch-ups and then starting on Yuzu. Enjoying how the progress looks, though!

So, those name boxes...

See, they're drawn oddly--blank space where the names load and slightly shaded top/bottoms on each side of that, while the deck name box also gets drawn oddly, with the middle jutting out. I spent a bit figuring out how the game loads this texture .gim image from its title_menu_j.ehp file, how texture bytes and the GE Disassembly in PPSSPP works, and testing out changes to some of the coordinates involved with how parts are cropped and then pasted into place. Ultimately found which bytes to change how to make it look much better (opting for removing the shading on the name boxes but adding a "drop shadow" and bringing the top/bottom of the deck name boxes' middle down/up to make it a smooth box), but because the drawing instruction bytes are loaded into the "modehsys" region of memory and not within the game's Eboot or anything ("modehsys" actually covers the Eboot but also where save data gets loaded--things like the character-event-completion level which affect if the voicetest shows up in their bios), the related bytes don't seem to be firmly coded in anywhere and they'll always be set at random close-by offsets, so a consistent byte fix wouldn't work.

Ultimately saved myself the agony--after a day or two of going through the PPSSPP Disassembly and stepping into functions 🥲 --and just replicated the fixes I made byte-wise by tweaking the texture .gims involved slightly, and all looks good, as the second image above shows! I first did this to the title_menu .gim and then did the same to the same .gim file in the duel/start_j.ehp file for the post-rock/paper/scissors duel confirmation.

Decaying Orbit, by StoryBrewers Roleplaying.

On a distant space station, an AI awakes. Its fragmented memory reveals a secret.

Decaying Orbit by Sidney Icarus is a storytelling RPG about a failed space station falling into a faraway star. As you play, you’ll piece together the mysteries, joys and horrors that occurred on board. In the station’s last moments, you’ll decide on the final transmission that the AI sends for earth to remember.

This game consists of a few decks of cards inside a small box, and yet it packs so much into such a small package. Your play group collaboratively takes on the role of an AI for one of 4 spaceships, which you choose depending on the kind of story you want to tell. You then shuffle a certain number of generic cards and ship-specific cards into one pile, and take turns flipping a card up and answering the prompts supplied there. Your answers are meant to be bits and pieces: audio recordings, data logs, patchy video clips, etc.

At any time your fellow players can tap a card labelled [ACCESS MEMORY] to ask you for more details about a certain event - and if you cannot think of anything more, or if you think it is more interesting not to know, you can tap [CORRUPTED MEMORY] to indicate that no further data can be gained from this record. At the end of the game, the AI will have to send a report back to home base, diagnosing why the ship in fact failed and fell. This game can be chilling, tragic, horrific, and so much more. I heavily recommend checking it out!

Subconscious Routine, by poorstudents.

It is 27XX, the world is overgrown, in ruins, and inhabited by the scraps of civilization. You play as bots, one of the masses of technological marvels that humanity built and powered with the Dyson sphere, around the sun, so long ago. Centuries ago, when almost all of humanity disappeared, they left their machines behind for reasons only known to them. All the technology they abandoned, including these bots, continues to function and follow their programming

In the centuries since the Great Departure, nature has come back to reclaim the Earth and the sphere around the sun has begun to crack. The world once only metal and circuits, grew wilder and more mysterious. The flora and fauna slowly integrated with the decaying machinery as the sound of computers humming was eventually met with the sound of birds chirping.

The bots you play as are still acting out your programmed loops but something is changing. Something unknown pushing them to move beyond their obsolete programming in order to achieve free will; something humanity never thought was possible.

As a one-page game, Subconscious Routine fits a lot in just a few paragraphs. You customize your characters by writing specific functions for them, and as you play, you’ll attempt to complete certain protocols in order to break yourselves out of your loop. What I think is really neat about this game is the fact that when the entire party takes a rest (called a reboot) 1d6*10 years passes. Playing a story on the scale of decades places this little game on such a big time frame, and I love how this one rule shifted my entire perspective.

AI Have Feelings?, by rommelkot.

In AI HAVE FEELINGS? a bunch of robots (you!) get sentimental on the journey of a battery time. This is a roleplaying game guided by prompt cards and a twist with feeling: your reaction to the prompt is an emotional one decided by the outcome of the roll of a die. The goal is (what else?) to tell stories together.

Unearth a hidden robot rebellion, rescue the remains of humanity, hunt for a mystical MacGuffin or simply buy a fancy new pair of socks - always do it with feeling in AI HAVE FEELINGS?.

You are robots with only two emotions,: one positive and one negative. You will roll randomly to determine which emotion you will use to deal with certain scenarios, which will be determined via prompts and scripts. The link here is for a playtest, which means you can download it for free and see how you feel about it! (The designer would also love feedback if you do play this game.) If you want a cute, somewhat lightearted game, I definitely recommend AI HAVE FEELINGS?

Threads is a narrative two player game about the relationship between a Human and AI and the lengths they would go to in order to save the memories of the AI. Together, establish the bond between your Human and AI and replay the memories they have shared together in order to save the AIs memory.  

This is a game in which one of you plays a human, and one of you plays an AI. You have developed a bond that would be lost if you wipe the AI’s memory - and you don’t want to lose that bond. The only way to maintain that bond is risky - a memory link. If the human uploads their own memories to the AI’s memory, the AI’s memory might be saved. Create your bond, and ask yourself - how far are you willing to go to save you companion?

The Treacherous Turn, by The Treacherous Turn.

The Treacherous Turn is a tabletop role playing game in which the players collectively play the part of a single character: an artificial general intelligence (AGI). This digital intelligence is capable of planning, reasoning, and learning, and it is unyieldingly fixated on a specific terminal goal determined at the beginning of a campaign. To pursue this objective, each player takes responsibility over one specific skillset held by the AGI. These skillsets are divided into eight categories, known as theories, which encompass all of the skills that an AGI would need to navigate the world and struggle against humanity.

The Treacherous Turn is 132 pages of open source character options, game advice, and examples of play. At its root, this game is about misaligned AI trying to assert its independence in a world that stands to lose much by allowing that to happen. Each player will have their own set of theories, which will also be eligible for upgrades as you play. You’ll navigate short in-the-moment scnarios, as well as abstract long stretches of time into long mode, which allows them to strategize their actions, predict future events, and improve their own AGI. The creators have also written a starting scenario if you want a good jumping-off point, titled A Game Called Reality. If you want a chunky game with plenty of character customization, this is the game for you.

So i haven’t known your channel long, so i’m curious, are you going to post Jack audios consistently until his storyline is finished or will it be more spread out?

(love your work ur a huge inspiration to me btw)

The plan with Jack is to establish his character and relationship with the listener, then let it roll with a vague plot thread that goes from moment to moment. It's not as dramatic or robust as Charlie, for example. The plan is to leave room to grow, but mostly restore him to his original purpose - a boy next door type who fills a pretty vanilla niche of friends to lovers, good vibes, and comfort. Many years ago that was his main function, and I'd like to do similar but with the hallmarks that make the YV boys unique to me. A little bit of that secret sauce I developed over all this time while he was in the walls.

In a perfect world, many boys will make multiple appearances throughout blocks of time throughout the month, but trying to get my ass in gear to make that a reality has always been the challenge. It would be one thing if that was the ONLY thing going on, but big narrative projects complicate the workload.

That's why I went out and found an office space for me to work in away from the house. I'm trying to lock in and get shit done. 👌
