Spotify should add a feature where I can isolate just part of a song and loop only that. Like I want this song on repeat. But only this 45sec bit. I don’t want the rest right now.

I saw you wanted to be asked about autism, so what’s the first thing you remember that pointed to autism?
Mine was having meltdowns any time I was cold.
Hello! First of all, I wanted to say thank you for asking me about something autism-related! I did do a post on my page saying how I wanted to be asked about autistic things, however I didn’t really expect anyone to read it, and even if people did I didn’t expect to actually be asked anything 😅, so thank you for asking! It is appreciated.
The first thing I remember to kind of be an “autistic thing” (that is also non-violent, non-traumatizing, non-ableist, essentially, not a “bad” memory) is:
Once upon a time, when I was younger, my parents set up a tv-system in the minivan, where there were tvs strapped to the back of the head-rests, or strapped to that thing in the center of the middle-seated area that you can open up. Anyway, movies could be watched on the mini tvs and I was in charge of it. I even had a little “remote” and everything. I remember loving a song in the movie, “Oliver and Company”. The song was, “Why Should I Worry” by Billy Joel, but the song is not important/significant. The reason why I mention the song, however, is because I loved the song, and I think I stimmed to the song. Because it’s unusual to expect to finish an entire movie in a single car ride, I would have to skip ahead to where the movie left off, however I would usually never skip this song, because I enjoyed listening to it so much.
I think this was one of the first instances where I learned it was “socially acceptable” or “ok” to stim to music. To this day, I find myself being ok to stim to music by listening to stuff on repeat, or stim mostly through sound and auditory stuff. But yes I think this was an auditory stim moment for me, and thanks again for asking.

Very big thank you to YouTube for adding clips. Now my neurodiverse ass can listen to the 7 second long moments in songs that make my brain go fuzzy on high volume on repeat without having to do it manually
