A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

🎶 His style is quality over quantity. He’s a bit reserved when in public, and he will never hesitate to put a guiding hand on your back. He enjoys holding your hand to prevent getting separated but also just for the sake of holding your hand. He values more intimate affection when in private when he doesn’t have to worry about others and personally enjoys whenever you’re affectionate towards him. 

B = Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

🎶 His presence is comforting, he’s the friend to seek out for sound advice who will get angry on your behalf and try to find a way to solve your problems, he is dependable and trustworthy. He is supportive and encouraging in a calm manner but will always warn you of potential problems or obstacles ahead. In a word you would call him your wisest friend, he enjoys your company and likes watching operas, ballet performances, musicals and the theater in general. Other activities include relaxing in museums, art galleries and fine dining. 

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle) 

🎶   He is a sensual man and believes touch can convey a lot of intimacy and enjoys the closeness of that when cuddling. That’s why it’s appealing to him, it’s also quiet and simple. It conveys trust and comfort without words to misconstrued things in the funny way they do. Lucifer kept people at an arm's length after everything that happened, his brothers are the closest to his heart but even with them he keeps the image of the strong, unbreakable and dependable older brother. When he’s in your arms however, that’s all irrelevant. He can just be himself, no pressures, no image, no worries. He can sink into the comfort of the touch and warmth you give him. Making him feel like he can properly rest for the first time in a long time. 

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?) 

🎶 10/10 - Can cook and clean perfectly, he enjoys it. Something about dusting and rearranging his record collection is soothing, he is usually the one to pick up the chore slack if there is an unavoidable circumstance, such as people being strung up from the ceiling. Especially likes being able to cook meals for you, finds it pleasant when you enjoy his food and compliment his skills. Lucifer is usually very busy and doesn’t always cook or clean, but he can. (House husband material)

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

🎶 He is an adult about it, he’s mature about the situation and it’s not messy nor argumentative. It comes in the form of a very long discussion, speaking about what he wants mutually from a partner, compromises he can make and those he will not. He will only end the relationship if he feels it’s unrecoverable, not from a lack of trying from his side. He stays level headed and hides his sadness well, even after the separation he will always be amicable and a gentleman. 

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quickly would they want to get married.)

🎶 Marriage wasn’t something that dwelled on Lucifer’s mind, he had too many things to worry about and attend to before he could even consider marriage. Of course his perspective shifted after meeting you, when he had the blessing of peace and settlement in Devildom, his mind could afford to wander to things like that for himself. Even without a ring, he is wholly committed to you, probably the one and only person he would say that too. But you are precious, in every way. Even if it is a gesture, a human gimmick, he would like to settle down with you. 

G = Gentle (How gentle are they? Both physically and emotionally.)

🎶 Lucifer is a sadistic person at the best of times, especially when dishing out his punishments. But to you, the sole exception, he’s practically a lamb. His brothers protest constantly about how unfair it is that his punishments for you are much milder than what he gives them. He’s gentle towards you, not at first, but when your relationship began to evolve so did his treatment. He’s firm especially when it comes to your wellbeing but he is gentle towards you and always acts with consideration for your thoughts and feelings. There is intent behind his actions and sometimes even if they don’t make sense you are assured that he always acts in your best interest. 

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?) 

🎶 His hugs always feel comforting, he’s reserved in public and refrains from too much outward PDA but aside from all his secretive little touches and gestures, a hug is one of those things that he doesn’t mind other people seeing. He usually pairs his hugs with calming actions like rubbing your back or stroking your hair. If you’re upset or angry he’ll calm you down with a gentle sway and with his arms around you, it feels like the safest place on earth. 

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-Word) 

🎶 He doesn’t say it soon- not until he knows that he means it with his whole being. It’s not a word that Lucifer would ever throw around lightly and he wouldn’t say it if he was uncertain of his feelings towards you. It was anxiety inducing at first when he never said it, Lucifer would speak those sweet words of affection, those almost seductive whispers praising you but there was an absence of love in them. When Lucifer came to terms with his feelings, he was the first one to tell you about them. 

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they're jealous?) 

🎶 Lucifer doesn’t get jealous easily, hearing news of you hanging out with his brothers and the like isn’t enough to make him upset. He knows he’s special to you and he feels secure in that reasoning, he might get a little irritated more so than jealous. Even when seeing random people hitting on you, he’ll simply make sure that they’re aware that you’re his partner. He doesn’t entertain jealous feelings. Although he can use it as a reason to spend more time with you, telling you that he’s feeling a little sad that you haven’t been spending as much time with him. Seeing Lucifer so subdued when he asks for your attention is adorable. 

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

🎶 Tantalizing and slow, it’s almost like he overwhelms you with passionate kisses and pulls away leaving you wanting more. You were surprised about how he kissed you the first time, but Lucifer said he takes pride in his kisses and knows that you’ll love them. He also has a tendency to kiss your hand whenever greeting you, or sometimes even as an affectionate gesture, and kisses your forehead/top of your head usually when he hugs you. He doesn’t mind where you kiss him, he enjoys your kisses but seeing you reciprocate his hand kisses is adorable and endearing to him. 

L = Little Ones (How are they around children?)

🎶 Considering he is the eldest of his band of unruly brothers he’s very equipped and experienced when handling children. He knows how to talk to them, interact with them and even persuade them. Lucifer does have patience with the younger ones and even if he gets irritated he will hide it well. He’s stern but also rewards them for good behavior. In your mind you often see Lucifer leading the young ones like a mother duck and her ducklings in tow. 

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

🎶 He’s set in a very relaxed morning routine that includes enjoying drinking some coffee and waking up gradually, he gets ready at a leisurely pace and can eat in peace without having to rush. For someone who is always busy and does so much, his morning routine is very relaxed. He usually wakes you up 20 minutes later than he gets up, usually with a warm beverage and a good morning kiss. He enjoys idle chatter while getting ready and has developed a bad habit of intentionally leaving his tie crooked so you’ll fix it for him. 

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

🎶 Lucifer is usually busy with paperwork that he couldn't attend to in the day, he’s quite the workaholic and often brings work home with him. He sets himself up with a record and a cup of tea while he pages through things, sorting them into piles, it’s almost like his own form of homework. He welcomes your presence if you don’t mind his attention being focused on his admin, but he doesn’t force you to sit with him. There’s been more than a few occasions when you’ve fallen asleep and he drops everything to carry you off to bed. 

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while and reveal things slowly?)

🎶 He’s closed off, not intentionally but he doesn’t want people worrying about him. He’s the eldest, he has to always appear strong so his younger brothers won’t worry. Lucifer didn’t know when to switch that off, so he usually kept things to himself. You slowly encouraged him to trust you, confide in you and tell him that he doesn’t have to maintain that infallible mask. Lucifer steadily would talk about himself more; it took some encouragement until he trusted you with his more vulnerable moments.  

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?) 

🎶 Highly dependent on the situation, anger isn’t his first reaction to a situation. As more details come out is what will sway him, his brothers can rile him up and annoy him especially when they’re doing stupid things that result in more paperwork and headaches for him. He’s good at holding back, while you know he’s angry you rest assured that he isn’t overtaken by it. The only time you’ve seen unbridled rage is when someone tried to hurt you and his brothers. You’ve never seen Lucifer go from 0 to 200 as quickly as he did, it took a lot to stop him from committing murder right then and there. 

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing or they kind of or forget everything?) 

🎶 It comes naturally he has a mind for details, when it comes to his brothers and you. He remembers everything, the big, small, the important and the silly. He deems each one of them precious as they’re something that makes you, you. He sometimes wonders what would happen if he forgot you, would something so minute and seemingly meaningless remain and remind him of you and your presence? He never wants to think about it, but he is aware of the life spans of humans and he fears the day you won’t be around anymore - though with everyone’s efforts, it seems like that may not happen. 

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

🎶 Lucifer treasures moments and memories - he has various favorites. Some more than others, simple things like seeing you when he wakes up in the morning, how you’ve cried or gotten angry for him, protected him, whispered your words of love - they’re all precious treasures to him. How could he choose between your first I love you, or the last, when you had a fight for the first time and cried because he got angry then you ignored him until he gave you hugs and kisses as an apology. He truly hopes, and even ironic for him - prays that his memories would never fade. Because it is something he wants forever. 

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

🎶 Lucifer is very protective, for various reasons. It’s in his nature to be the guardian, but also because he never wants anything to happen to you. He wishes that you could only see the good of everything without experiencing the bad. He tries his hardest to keep you in a blissful reality. It’s never that easy and he knows that, so if he can’t prevent that, he can support and comfort you when you need it, if you need a wall to guard you, he will gladly be that, or if you need a pillar to support you from behind, Lucifer will gladly do that as well. You return his love and security tenfold, for Lucifer it is an awkward experience because he never really was in the position to be protected, believing himself to be the one that must always protect.  

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

🎶 Lucifer never half asses anything and takes pride in completing his tasks perfectly, to the point of where it feels that  it’s autopilot. However, when it comes to you- everything he does, he will put more effort  into it. Making sure it is as perfect as it could possibly be. Because for you,  his beloved, deserves nothing short of perfection. His dates are well planned, coordinated. It’s always something you enjoy and when you’ve stated that you wanted to do his favourite thing, he usually will compromise by doing something the two of you can enjoy together after all he wants you first and foremost to enjoy yourself. 

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

🎶 He’s a workaholic, to his own detriment most of the time. You already know that he could really finish those documents tomorrow, but no he absolutely insists that he has to finish them tonight. While working hard is a very admirable trait, the reason you regard this as a bad habit is due to the fact that Lucifer neglects himself under the guise of work. He won’t eat, sleep - He’ll deprive himself of basic things and stress himself out, pouring over work and documents that could have been left for a later date. You put your foot down - insisting that if he will work the way he does he is not allowed to pull all-nighters, work no later than 2am and remember to eat and drink something. 

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?) 

🎶 He takes pride in his appearance, not to the point of being obsessed about it. He likes looking and feeling good, Lucifer likes it when you compliment him, the outfit he wore or how he styled his hair. He became a bit more centered on his appearance after being with you, but that’s his pride as a partner. He wants to be the best version of himself for you,  though you compliment him even if he’s a little more disheveled than the norm.  

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

🎶 He is the master of ignoring his feelings, while he will tell himself that he’s fine. He’s not. He’d be more fixated on throwing himself into work more than usual, pushing himself to the absolute brink of exhaustion so he could get some rest without thinking of you. His brothers would all be worried about Lucifer but he’d dismiss it- even when Diavolo says something Lucifer would bring up a whole bunch of admin and the backlog that Diavolo couldn’t possibly handle on his own. He needs to keep his mind busy so his mind doesn’t wander to thoughts of you and so he doesn’t feel how much he actually misses you. 

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them)

🎶 Music is almost a form of therapy to him, it’s been a long time since he really had anyone to confide in. But the mellow sound of music seemed to ease his woes and make him feel better, it became something therapeutic and the ritual of sitting down to listen to music with a drink while unwinding is some of his most treasured time to himself. He was pretty surprised when seeing the extensive collection of records the human world had and you enjoyed taking him out and about while introducing him to your favourite bands, artists and songs. 

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn't like, either in general or in a partner?)

🎶 Negligent, irresponsible and ignorant. There are some traits he doesn’t like, and finds unpleasant interacting with. He wouldn’t like them in others, especially in a partner. He doesn’t want someone who neglects or shirks their responsibilities, who neglects those they’re meant to love and protect. The same holds true for irresponsible people- mistakes are normal but intentionally avoiding your contribution to a problem and making no effort to be responsible is a highly unpleasant trait in his eyes. 

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?) 

🎶 Sleeps like the dead. He falls asleep the moment his head hits the pillow and he will not budge until his alarm goes off. It’s almost terrifying to see how deathly still he sleeps. You swear it’s like snuggling a mannequin. You insist he gets into a comfortable position before falling asleep. Some of his crankier days are a result of stiff and pained muscles from sleeping in some weird position that didn’t agree with him.

Obey Me! Lucifer with an abused teen MC.

Little notes: Haha, sorry that was a bit of a hiatus! I've been struggling with, well...life. You know how it is. But I'm back because I have fictional person brain rot. If you don't want to see anything besides my hero/villain stuff, feel free to blacklist the obey me tags.

Also, I'm kinda new to the obey me! fandom, so I'm sorry if the characters are a bit off. I won't be writing about some of them until I've learned more about them.

Lucifer

Lucifer found it a bit strange how quickly you took to him.

He makes you do your homework before class tomorrow? No complaints. He reminds you of bedtime (which you have because nobody's allowed to stay up later than Lucifer in the house of lamentation due to the fact that there may not be one left by morning)? "Okay, no problem! I can study TSL later." (Still trying to hang out with Levi, are you?) If anything, you seem grateful for his overbearing tendencies.

Really, with the chaos of his brothers, he's a little bit weirded out by how much trouble you don't cause. Maybe you're just scared of the demons?

Yeah, that has to be it. Works for him.

Except...it doesn't.

Not when he comes in screaming at Mammon for yet another failing grade and you start trembling, face pale and legs locked from your place on the couch, as if you don't quite know whether to freeze or run.

Dammit, he needs to take care of this lest the angels see you as a hostage and another celestial war is started. Besides, Diavolo doesn't want the human exchange student terrified, he's trying to foster relations.

So, for once, Lucifer forgoes stringing Mammon up from the ceiling, much to everyone's surprise (and your and his shared relief) and instead stalks off to his office to calm down with his favorite cursed records.

Later that night, when he's sending everyone to bed, he saves you for last. "MC, please follow me to my office."

His tone is gentle, reassuring even, but you know better than to mistake it for a request. Your mind races as you follow him on shaky legs. What have you done now? Idiot!

When you reach his office, Lucifer gestures for you to sit in the armchair across from his desk. It's surprisingly comfortable as you sink into it, but you can't help feeling like you're being swallowed up. Is he going to eat you?

As he sits in the chair across from you, it doesn't seem like it. Yet.

"How are you adjusting to life in The Devildom?"

You can't figure out his game here. His face reveals little, but you get the sense that he's asking a question without asking it.

"I'm adjusting," you say simply, expecting him to drop it at that. You're just a mortal, after all.

"I asked how you are adjusting," he counters. "It must be a big shift for you."

Really, it must be, he had realized earlier in the confines of his office—he and his brothers struggled enough after the fall, but you, in your human ways, had not even realized the existence of magic or god before coming here, and now you're surrounded by demons? Not to mention that you're still a child. Lucifer doesn't like to curse, usually finding such foul language beneath him, but he doesn't know what to call it other than a mindfuck.

The Avatar of Pride's efforts to push away the tinge of guilt that accompanied said realization have been in vain. He and his brothers haven't exactly been nice to you, have they?

He's long decided to help you adjust, if only to get rid of this stubborn and unbecoming guilt, but he can't exactly do that if you won't tell him what's wrong and you're just staring at him like a gaping fish, so he doubles down. "Are you experiencing any difficulties, MC?"

Fuck, fuck, fuck—if your mind was racing before, it's moving so quickly now that it's burning into ashes that, somehow, through the magic you've just learned exists, are blown away by the wind to spell those three words.

"MC?" Lucifer repeats your name, eyes widening in that half a millimeter of concern Diavolo talks about (referencing that one chat, I forget the actual measurement and I know his eyes technically widened in surprise, but give me a break) . Is this a human thing? No demons he knows of are this...weak. It's an active effort for him to restrain his judgement as he raises his eyebrows at you which, finally, seems to prompt a response.

"P-please, I'm sorry, I'll do better! I'm sorry for whatever I did. I w-won't do it again, don't eat me!"

Well...

Suddenly he feels like an ass for judging you. Just what ideas has Mammon been putting into your head? You look like you've seen your own ghost. And again, he reminds himself, you are a weak and defenseless human child in a world of demons.

"Nobody, not even Beel, is going to eat you. As our human exchange student, I won't allow you to die before the year closes," he says, lips pulling into a frown, studying you more intently now and watching the way you squirm as he looks at you, back ramrod straight against the armchair. What is going on with you? "Why do you believe that I would eat you?"

"I, uh..." Okay, so you don't think he'll eat you, but it's never good when an adult looks at you like that. "I don't know, you seemed upset earlier and now I've been called in here, so I thought I might have screwed up somehow—not, like, arson or anything, but I thought...I thought you'd find something."

"You thought I'd find something?" Lucifer stresses the word.

"...Yes?" you say with all the hesitance of someone on death row confessing to a crime. You swear you see Lucifer's eye twitch for just a split second.

Meanwhile, Lucifer's got it. At first, he didn't really pay all that much mind when Diavolo mentioned that you come from "troubled circumstances", mostly hoping that you wouldn't be just as troubled and therefore troubling yourself, but he's starting to see that you are—just in a different way than the others.

Of course, he doesn't outright mention or address the clues he's just put together—The Avatar of Pride can tell better than anyone that you're hiding your past as well as you can, which is, admittedly, not well, but he's been persuaded to humor you.

"I am not a sadist." Okay, he is, but it's better that you not know that. He continues, "I am not looking to find something to punish you for and, while there are some things I would kill you for such as threatening my brothers, Diavolo, or the Devildom, I have no intentions of causing you harm under regular circumstances. You may get an F on your math test without fearing me or any punishment I would give you, MC."

You blink as you process the words, a little bit of the fear edging out of your body. "I can?" Your voice is tentatively hopeful.

"You can," Lucifer reaffirms, shuffling his paperwork around, if only for your benefit, as tears begin to brim in your eyes. He allows you to save face. "Go to bed. You're welcome in my office if you ever need to talk."

"Thank you," you mumble to him as you hurry from the room. You don't know what this means, but you know you're not dead and that's good enough.

The next morning, Lucifer's brothers are woken up earlier and met with a stern talk about being kind to you, accompanied by the reminder that you are a child even by human standards who is adjusting to life in literal hell and the threat of them having to adjust to hell a second time over (a punishment—Lucifer's punishment is the second hell). "We're building relations with the exchange student for Diavolo," he justifies explains.

His brothers aren't terribly thrilled with the idea of cozying up to a human, but they agree because they remember how hard the fall was for them.

Asmodeus, being the most familiar and cool with humans due to his pact with Solomon and finding your fearful, doe-like nature adorable, offers to take you out clubbing—to which Lucifer reminds him of the child thing.

Fine, fine, no clubbing. He'll pamper you instead, you certainly have enough split ends to suggest you could use a haircut.

From then on out, a new rule is established where each of the brothers, Lucifer included, have to spend time with you every so often with one or more brothers spending time with you each day of the week.

Needless to say, you're confused by the sudden kindness but you soon don't mind it, finding yourself slowly warming up to them—and, much to the shock of your ruined self-esteem, they to you.

Lucifer is pleasantly surprised and secretly grateful to find that his brothers get into less trouble with you around and, eventually, even more pleasantly surprised to find that you seem almost normal around them. You no longer eat in silence at the dinner table, refuse to meet their eyes, or cower like a puppy used to getting kicked when they raise their voices at each other (everyone has learned not to raise their voice at you, even Satan).

It's not long before Lucifer is calling you his best behaved child sibling. He even goes so far as to have everyone retake the family photo with you in it.

Is there any way he can turn you into a demon? He'd like you to be his child sibling for forever, and humans die far too quickly. As far as Lucifer's concerned, Satan has something new to research.

And it's not as though you don't seem to have some level of darkness in you. Just the other day you heard screams coming from the lower levels of Lord Diavolo's castle and followed them in spite of your fear, kind heart wanting to aid whoever was suffering.

According to Barbatos, you didn't even flinch when you found him torturing your parents, pliers still gripped around one of your dad's bloody fingernails.

Hell, you even asked to join in! (How Barbatos responded to that, I'll let you all imagine lol)

Also, Lucifer will never admit it, but he's quite possibly never felt more pride than the time you, Satan, and Belphie pranked him with a whoopie cushion on his desk chair. Normally he would have beat his brothers with it, but he could tell from the less than ideal invisibility cloak over the object that you were involved and hid a smile from prying eyes as he sat on what felt like his throne despite the ensuing fart noises.

And that's how his family of seven became eight once again.

Secrets of Devildom: Pride Demons (Part 1)

Those who have read the theory of the 7 Og and the cycle of life (thank you @sparkbeast20 for the cooperation) know that there are many gaps in the annon, and many of the events that occurred in the annon are not explained, and/or left implicit without any context.

For those following these moments of theory, you may notice that I have been talking a lot about the demonic classes, their "history," and culture before, during, and after the fall of the brothers, focusing most of these moments on philosophical/mythological debates, pointing out plot points that few would see and understand.

Well, we have already talked about 6 of the seven sin classes, namely Greed, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Wrath, and Envy.

In the shadowy corridors of Devildom, where envy boils and desire twists, there exists a sin that transcends all others—a sin that has spawned legends and shattered them equally. Sit back in your chairs and fasten your seatbelts because today...

….(insert supernatural intro)…

...we will talk about Pride

But before starting this moment of theory, I ask you, dear reader, to keep an open mind for this moment, and if you want to point out any flaws, or if I am forgetting something, remember that this is just a theoretical post. I won't be upset if you want to add something to this conversation; I just ask that you reblog and tag me so that we can exchange theories on the subject. As with all theories about demonic classes, I will start with the famous question: what do we know about Pride? Pride is a concept widely explored by philosophers throughout history and analyzed from different perspectives.

One of these perspectives describes pride as an excessive love for oneself, characterized by an individual who considers themselves self-sufficient and admires their works, wishing for others to share this same elevated view. Descartes, in his book “The Passions of the Soul,” considered pride a vice, arguing that those with an unjustified high opinion of themselves do not possess true generosity.

The views of famous philosophers on pride offer valuable insights. Socrates, for example, focused on human relationships and reflection on one's thinking. Cicero, on the other hand, warned about the dangers of excessive pride leading to arrogance, considering it one of the most unpleasant forms of human behavior.

Nietzsche, a 19th-century German philosopher, saw arrogance as a manifestation of resentment and weakness, questioning traditional morality and exploring human nature profoundly and provocatively. Therefore, these different philosophical perspectives enrich our understanding of pride and its impact on human life. Arrogance is associated with a morally reprehensible attitude of excessive pride, arrogance, and disrespect for others. This idea is frequently explored in philosophical and religious traditions.

Moral philosophy also examines how this attitude can influence human behavior, interpersonal relationships, and the pursuit of virtue. In many philosophical traditions, overcoming arrogance is seen as a path to moral and spiritual development. In the Christian tradition, arrogance is considered a cardinal sin and is associated with excessive presumption and elevated self-esteem that goes beyond the limits of humility. Proud people often face internal conflicts resulting from traumatic experiences or parental neglect. In the annals of demonology, Lucifer remains the quintessential embodiment of arrogance. His wings, once resplendent, now bear the weight of his disobedience. His eyes, once aflame with celestial fire, now burn with the remnants of rebellion. His fall from grace was not just a descent—it was a seismic rupture that shook the very foundations of existence. Pride is a valuable currency in Devildom. We observe that this emotion is a powerful engine for narrative and character development. Lucifer, as the Avatar of Pride, embodies the constant struggle between self-confidence and arrogance, between self-acceptance and self-alienation. This duality is visible not only in his actions but also in his interactions with other demons and with the humans who cross his path.

Lucifer’s psychology is marked by profound internal conflict. His celestial fall, resulting from his pride, created not only a physical separation from the divine but also an emotional and spiritual fracture. This traumatic event shaped his view of himself and the world around him, creating a cycle of self-affirmation and self-destruction. Pride, in this context, is not just a characteristic but an armor he uses to protect himself from his vulnerability.

Lucifer’s relationship with wrath is particularly intriguing. Pride, as the father of wrath, manifests whenever he feels his authority questioned or his dignity threatened. This exacerbated emotion reveals his deepest insecurities and his struggle to maintain control. Lucifer’s wrath is not just a reaction to frustration but a defense against the fear of being seen as weak or fallible. This dynamic between pride and wrath is a constant dance that defines his complex personality.

The concept of the "virus of pride," as mentioned by Pope Francis, is an apt metaphor to describe how this emotion can spread and infect all aspects of a person’s life. The mind and heart of someone "infected" end up being consumed by this emotion, distorting their perception of reality and leading them to make decisions with catastrophic consequences. Pride, in this sense, is both a destructive force and a reflection of the human desire to transcend one’s limits.

The exploration of pride in the canon of the game “Obey Me!” offers a unique view of how this emotion can be both a source of greatness and a trap. Lucifer, in his quest for redemption, represents the eternal struggle to balance self-confidence with humility. His journey is a reflection of what it means to be human, with all its weaknesses and strengths. Pride, ultimately, is a lens through which we can better understand the motivations and dilemmas that define our existence.

The relationship between pride and other sins, such as envy and lust, also deserves attention. In Devildom, these sins do not exist in isolation but interact in complex ways to create an intricate fabric of emotions and actions. Pride can fuel envy, leading to competition and conflict. Similarly, lust can be an expression of excessive pride, a search for validation through conquest. Understanding these interactions is essential to decipher the characters’ motivations and the power dynamics in Devildom.

It is no surprise that the circle of pride is considered the penultimate level, the first and last line of the tomb of kings, which I will explain in the next post. Comparing it with the other circles of hell, we will see that although it has less "territory," the circle of pride is considered the most luxurious and densely packed with magic than the others. The circle of pride is one of the main pillars, if not the main one, that keeps the structure of the whole kingdom intact. This realm has multiple space-time pockets that contain small kingdoms and fiefs that constantly conflict with each other due to their pride and instinct of superiority. It is there that much of the Devildom nobility lives and where the original Castle of the Demon King was founded before the prince decided to place an imitation on the surface to 'play with the lower castes.'

From the perspective of demonic history and tradition, including the brothers is quite controversial. These brothers lacked any ancestral lineage or demonic pedigree. To the noble demons, the brothers were seen as mere mongrels that their prince had picked up on a whim and would soon tire of and discard. Despite being named the Avatar of Pride and possessing the keys to the castle of the Lord of Pride, Lucifer's predecessor had not removed all the traps or imbued the castle with Lucifer's essence as the new lord. On paper, Lucifer was recognized as the Lord of Pride, but in practical terms, he lacked access to the deepest secrets held by the former lord. It took him thousands of years of struggle and hard work to achieve what he did, and even then, he did not possess all the necessary information. This also explains why the brothers lived in a haunted mansion on what was known as the "ground floor" of the demonic realm instead of a castle at its pinnacle.

Lucifer’s story is a warning about the dangers of excessive pride, like the myth of Icarus where Daedalus warns his son not to fly too close to the sun or too close to the waves of the sea, but also a celebration of resilience and the capacity to seek redemption. His fall is not just a punishment but an opportunity for reflection and growth. In “Obey Me!” we see how Lucifer navigates these turbulent waters, facing his demons while trying to guide and protect his brothers. His leadership, despite his flaws, is a testament to his strength and determination.

In the end, Lucifer’s journey leads us to question our attitudes towards pride. To what extent are we driven by healthy self-confidence, and when do we cross the line into arrogance? How can we balance our desire for personal achievement with the need to maintain humility and respect for others? These are questions we all face, and Lucifer’s story offers a powerful lens through which to examine them.

🎶 Lucifer is always early for dates with {Name}, if the time is set for 7 then he’ll be there at 06:30 (and he’s always more than happy to wait until they're done in the event they’re still getting ready) Never rushes them and just waits with a smile on his face. Tells them how good they look. 

🎶 Absolutely loves when {Name} talks about themselves and will always encourage topics he knows gets them excited and passionate about things. He just adores seeing that excited sparkle that they get in their eyes. 

🎶 Lucifer encourages {Name} to slowly face their fears and the things that scare them, in the sense of what affects their everyday life. If public speaking is a daunting task he’ll encourage them in gentle ways to slowly get more comfortable with it.

This Melanie Martinez song had been playing in my head and I think the lyrics to me, reflect on Rosella's feelings towards Lucifer.

The song's lyrics do make sense in my way of showing the love Rosella has for the Avatar of Pride

Also this other part of the song not only hits me in the feels but also rings true when she looked into Lucifer's eyes, it felt like love at first sight and it also reflected to how Rosella was treated so cruelly when she was growing up in a strict Catholic environment. But since being in the Devildom became a part of Lucifer's family with his 6 brothers that never wanted her to change or conform to anyone's image just to please others so they'll like her.
