One thing I like about Tatort Saarbrücken is that, except for Das Herz der Schlange when Adam gets rightfully innocented, solving the case usually brings no joy at all.
Both in Das Fleißige Lieschen and Die Kälte der Erde, the culprits were only driven to do what they did because of an abusive system that failed them.
Lida's brother got publicly beaten to death in a fucking working camp for a crime he didn't commit, and then she had to watch for years as the company claimed to never have employed exploited workers.
Alina's ex could despite her wishes, stop the adoption process of Alina's daughter, and stalk and harass her with no consequence. No wonder she took matters in her own hands, driven by desperation and her wishes for her daughter's future.
The tennis player woman in episode one reported Eric Hofer who literally threatened to break her arms, and nothing happened.
Adam tried to report his abusive father as a child and, you guessed it, nothing happened.
This is a cop show who repeatedly demonstrates the failure of the law to protect those who actually needed protection.

Revisiting an old au I thought about years ago when I first was obsessed with him and never really posted about
Essentially at its core is just. What if Ken got involved with Strega before he got involved with SEES. And his morals and sense of justice got even more warped.
“Murder is ok!” - Ken in this AU but like definitely so.
And like his relationships with Jin and Takaya is definitely not good and make his behavior worse. And his relationship to the concept of living, what strega is based around gets even more drastic.
His relationships with strega would be a focus <- still thinking about the details but so would other members of sees. Specifically Shinji (of course) but Akihiko too and Fuuka maybe. Her or Yukari. Again still working out the details but right now this is just like. A thought about an old AU I made back when I wasn’t the best at writing or character analysis.
I’m like thinking about the details in my head and I’m not good at explaining things but if anyone wants to hear me out 🫶

So who else loved Christopher Pike's cheesy YA horror novels? I've been feeling really nostalgic for them lately. I absolutely devoured those things when I was a young teenager.
I still have a shelf full of them in my closet, I should really reread some of them for old time's sake....

i can't get rocky horror picture show. i feel like for it to have appeal to you, it needed to have been formative media and a sexual awakening of sorts. watched it a couple years ago coming from 1. already being out of the closet for years, 2, knowing the reputation rhps has both with the transmisogyny and theater nerds. i was gonna approach it for what it was, and i hoped to at least find some appreciation as a pulp sci fi enjoyer. but what made the most disappointed in the end is that for its reputation, it was not nearly as weird or transgressive or as queer as other 70s movies i know of or have seen. i had already seen phantom of the paradise by that point so my expectations for weird rock operas were set much higher, and i expected more of the pulpiness that it promised. i can appreciate the acting, art direction, some of the music, and i can understand what it meant to people, but there are way better and more entertaining and weirder 70s movies out there. i watched it in a double feature with shock treatment and i liked shock better. if you want a better pulp sci fi sex comedy with questionable elements, watch flesh gordon (1974)
