has everyone listened to the songs??????? how we feeling????? i’m just going to ramble about them lol
i went back and revisited otome’s backstory after listening to the tracks because i recalled otome and mikado’s reasons for dice’s name and rivals encompasses what they wanted for dice ;w; he really did grow up well ;w; also lmao at crazy doppo
osaka big up and white and black take inspiration from the same era of music and it makes me cry actually since rei stayed alone for the entirety of this track. like…… at least they’re connected by music in some way ;w;
get busy needs to calm the fck down i have to act like i have some decorum when listening to it and it’s genuinely impossible at this point lmao it’s my top song out of both albums lol but you know what about it that’s really funny?? kuukou and jiro like spoke only two sentences to each other in the track so they pumped out that banger thru vibes only lmao
that part in yume no kanata where gentaro says ‘there is nothing more worthless than giving meaning to life’ and it distorts at the end of that statement completely distorted my brain chemistry it’s so good
unironically rio’s boot camp is a delight LMAO it’s great he put them thru a workout and gave them a meal plan as well of his own delicacies lol
hiphoppia is like The poster boy song for ichiro lol it’s inspirational it’s hopeful and he said the thing guys!!!!! rap is!!!!!!!! tano-C!!!!!! lmao
i could cry about how delightfully creepy omamagoto is i’m glad it’s a rap song to contrast hiphoppia and honobono seems to be having the time of her life giving it to us good for her fr 🥺
by the end of the drama tracks, the game plan for the music fes was so thoroughly ruined that improvisation was necessary for it to run which is why tho originally they intended to perform by divisions, we got argo orchestra, old school dh, etc. that means white or black, the absolute banger of hoods, doesn’t actually exist since rei never showed up to the festival 😔
devil’s flower is such a classically made vkei song it was an absolute delight to listen to and i love it when rock songs drop the title of the song as part of an alternative chorus like the way devil’s flower did lol!!!!!!!!
viva la liberty is so adorable omg 😭😭😭
closer is a love song fr like holy cow lmao 😭😭😭 tho i was surprised upon listening to it in full, once we got to the part of the first drama track where hitoya and jakurai were three steps away from going ‘you hang up ~’ ‘no you hang up~’ i realised that’s just how it is between them now and good for them ;w;
HIFUMI OUR SWEET SUMMER CHILD POSITIVE IS YOUR LIFE AND YOU MEANT THAT 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
samatoki’s song is very lovely to hum along to as you pretend you aren’t crying to it lmao
i don’t think i have ever laughed to a song as long and as hard as i did listening to bounce back, like i was brought to tears and that has to count for something. idk what!!!!! but like the song itself it is something LMAO

Best Underrated Anime Group J Round 3: #J8 vs #J2
#J8: Teenage girls find a random guy in a river, adventure ensues
#J2: Two girls wander the post-apocalyptic world
Details and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#J8: Kemurikusa (TV)
youtube
Summary:
A few young girls with strange powers and a tree that has grown through a railcar cling onto life in a desolate land, searching for its last reservoirs of water. Their routine struggle to survive is interrupted by the arrival of Wakaba, a boy with no memory beyond his own name.
The girls and their new companion commit to a perilous journey across seas of burning red fog—all in order to find what they need to sustain themselves on the more distant, dangerous islands swarming with robotic bugs. Their ultimate fate will be decided by their own strength, along with Wakaba's curious ability to understand the Kemurikusa: mysterious glowing leaves with wondrous powers. Besides the girls, Wakaba, and the hordes of ravenous bugs, the Kemurikusa are the last sparks of life surviving in this land. How did things end up this way? Why are there so many empty buildings with no one to live in them? Wakaba and the girls lack the answers to these questions, which means the truth can only be found within the Kemurikusa.
Propaganda:
Here’s ONE bit of propaganda for you: Kemurikusa is made by Tatsuki, the extremely talented director behind the original Kemono Friends anime by Yaoyorozu. This time, Tatsuki’s really stepped up his game: not only is this an improvement from his original short by the same name, this is also both an animation improvement and a writing improvement from the Yaoyorozu made Kemono Friends.
With Tatsuki’s skill as a writer to tell tight, medium-paced stories centering girls and the apocalypse, Kemurikusa focuses on both the emotions of Rin, Rina, and Ritsu, as well as fleshing out Wakaba to be more than just a simple sidekick, but the heart of the series, providing a very typically feminine role of comfort, care, and nurturing. The subversion of typical masculine and feminine roles in the story, especially from a male director, as well as the well-written, well-developed female characters (of which there are about 7, including a spoiler character), is a bonus for people who don’t like stereotypical “cool tough male character/generic nice boring female character who doesn’t do anything” stories.
The concept of a world sapped of resources by technology is also fascinating. [Admin: this part of the propaganda has been cut out due to possible spoilers.] Sadly, I can’t find a trailer, as this anime is SUPER obscure, but I linked the opening video to show another strength as well: the music. Just listen to it: this song is a total banger.
Trigger Warnings: Flashing lights, Child death (in reference to the characters’ motivation to find water)
Tumblr media
#J2: Girls’ Last Tour (Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou)
youtube
Summary:
Amid the desolate remains of a once-thriving city, only the rumbling of a motorbike breaks the cold winter silence. Its riders, Chito and Yuuri, are the last survivors in the war-torn city. Scavenging old military sites for food and parts, the two girls explore the wastelands and speculate about the old world to pass the time. Chito and Yuuri each occasionally struggle with the looming solitude, but when they have each other, sharing the weight of being two of the last humans becomes a bit more bearable. Between Yuuri’s clumsy excitement and Chito’s calm composure, their dark days get a little brighter with shooting practice, new books, and snowball fights on the frozen battlefield.
Propaganda:
Above everything else, this is a show about how human life and curiosity will continue to exist even in terrible circumstances. The two main characters are super charming, so following them around is fun, but even beyond that it’s just a gorgeous show. The scenery is often awe-inspiring and beautiful, as is the soundtrack. Despite the show taking place after the end of the world, it can be surprisingly uplifting as the girls (and the audience!) find wonder and joy in the world around them. Definitely a show more people should watch!
Trigger Warnings: There are some flashbacks that depict the war that ended the world, but they are not graphic. Some blood is shown, but not much else. Main characters own guns, though they don’t use them on other people.

do u ever think about the way olivia rodrigo invented music
just kidding i know the emotions she sings about have existed since the beginning of time but im just now realizing that if i was born in the taylor swift era i would 100% be a swiftie bc i was thinking abt olivia rodrigo’s music the other day and unironically had the thought “wow she literally invented having emotions” before i managed to catch myself. but honestly i think it’s crazy how accurately she captures all these feelings of insecurity and heartbreak (and now joy!) so perfectly!!
“lacy” and “pretty isn’t pretty” seem so similar on the surface, but i feel like lacy is more of a gradual realization that no matter what u do—or how ur actually perceived—you will never feel as feminine as u want to. there will always be people (aka Lacy) who are gonna be effortlessly elegant and beautiful and feminine and feeling jealous of that is so fuckin stupid but that doesn’t stop u from caring. and then i like “pretty isn’t pretty” bc i feel like that’s the aftermath of Lacy. idk the part abt her trying every shade of lipstick really hit bc when i was first experimenting w makeup i remember feeling so insecure that none of them seemed “my” color. also i really like the gradual buildup of “it’s in my phone/head/magazines/the boys i bring to bed” bc i feel like that describes the pipeline so well
anyway now let’s get into the new songs she released. i’m actually not sure if they’re new bc when i searched it up after it popped up on my spotify google said she released this back in 2023? so idk. but her youtube channel literally has this all released within the last few days. but my favorite thing about these songs is how im in the same era she’s in rn. that happened to me with “sour” and “guts” reopened a lot of those old wounds, so i absolutely love the healing theme (? i know that’s not the right word but it’s hard to think rn) this album has. let’s start off with obsessed since that popped up for me first
obsessed? yeah, obsessed with this fucking song. seriously. “if you knew how much i thought about her you’d think i was in love” already starting off on a banger. also i watched the mv and i loved it. this song literally couldn’t have came at a more perfect time, yall ever just randomly remember that ur s/o has dated ppl that aren’t u before? chilling realization, really
scared of my guitar? “i can’t lie to it the same way i like to you”? “i lay in your arms and pretend that it’s love”? “i’d rather be tied to someone even if they’re wrong”? oh my god. i was literally thinking about this the other day. like, being in a relationship bc u want to be or if it’s bc you’re scared of being by yourself. and i also like the fact that it’s insinuating that the other person is the better half. bc sometimes it does feel like literally just loving someone when you struggle so much with the thoughts i mentioned is just the same as stringing them along. but then also i think it’s nice to pretend you’re in love bc obviously at the beginning of a relationship you have no idea if it’s ever going to go that far, so i think we often fall in love with the idea of being loved. which sounds a bit corny when i put it like that, but scared of my guitar made *me* feel like a tortured poet bc i used to be like “im chill ! :o)” and then open up ao3 and write a billy taupe/lucy gray story like girl…. that’s not the same as olivia rodrigo being folksy and cute
speaking of being folksy and cute, “girl i’ve always been” is so folksy and cute! i literally hate country music so fucking much (i’m sorry… one time this guy in hs played God’s Country in front of the class for a presentation and he stood there kinda ominously so ever since then i’ve kinda hated it) but this song was nice i liked it! i like the confidence it exudes, someone already mentioned this in the comments but it really is giving off lucy gray vibes, especially “with venom on my tongue u ask me who i’ve become” like okayyy someone needs to write a billy taupe/ lucy gray inspired story abt that line immediately. i don’t really have much more to say since this one was the one i found the least personally relatable, but i love the sassiness of it all!!
stranger. this one was a FUCKING banger, this was the sort of era i was in when guts released so im so glad miss olivia rodrigo could put the feeling of realizing u don’t *need* someone u thought u literally couldn’t live without into words. “i always thought it was some comforting lie ppl told” literally. also the call back to “enough for you” by saying “if im not enough for you then you’re not enough for me either” :,). i think growing up is quite nice
so american. fav! <3 <3 <3. “he’s like a poem i wish i wrote” hands down my favorite lyric fucking ever. i LOVE this song. like i said with “lacy” and “pretty isn’t pretty” bleeding into each other, i think the same applies w this song and “scared of my guitar.” like after u get over ur fear of ur guitar u realize that ur so american and suddenly wanting to get married and be in love doesn’t seem so selfish anymore. i really, really love this song (if i haven’t already mentioned that)
sorry, i know this was a long post! stranger had me bursting into tears so i told Boyfriend i needed to write in my “notes app” abt it so everyone say hi Boyfriend. but seriously im feeling so american rn i literally was like “leave me alone and don’t touch me im feeling explosively emotional” and he was like ok! here’s some fruit. and then now im writing on my phone about songs i love. like is there any better feeling??

Kendrick: You’re a liar and master manipulator.
Drake: You’re only saying that because i lied about a son, i lied about surgeries, i lied about melting down Pharrell’s chains and rings.. i just wanted to sound tough to Pusha, i lied about looking twice at a teenager (kissed and hugged her on stage even after finding out her age), i lied about you getting mol**ted in a song, oh and because i decided to make up stories and send them to your camp from via my people so the world would think you’re a liar, with my lies…
Kendrick: You have PDF files on your team
Drake: but I’m not one
Kendrick: You like young girls.
Drake: I never touched Millie Bobby Brown, you leave her out of this. (And yes i know Bobby Brown and Whitney.. oohh). Also, If i fucked a teen girl i would be arrested and in jail! I’m too famous to be a PDF file. The only reason a person would hate r*pists and PDF files is because they got abused. Only victims hate abusers, man. Come on!
Listen, Drake talks about not fucking with women beaters but calls Chris Brown his “nigga”.
Also IMO if Drake is gonna bring up R.Kelly for Kendrick, bring him up for yourself too… He has a writing credit on your album.
Bro, you trying to bury someone in misinformation for WEEKS isn’t “petty” it’s fucking weird. It seems like you’re intentionally trying to discredit someone maybe because they know something and may use it.. Bury an ugly truth with lies.
Drake waved the white flag… Simple as that. Dude just rapped a bunch of whataboutisms. Also talked about the Epstein route would be taken.. BRO THIS STILL EXISTS
v v v
https://x.com/Drake/status/1974401447
Now let me be honest, Kendrick did say he would attack his family because of listening to Mr.Morale.. That doesn’t take away from the fact that the wife beater narrative is out there.. If it is true, I’d be fucked up. As someone who has seen their mother have hands put on her by her husband and knowing the anger and hatred i felt for that man.. I couldn’t listen to Kendrick the same way.
Also, Meet the Grahams is still a banger, and very hard hitting. Even with the daughter shit is false, everything else in that song was beautifully put together. Hmmm, you know what? I all honesty.. The daughter angle could stay for a young girl who does have a father that’s a piece of shit.. but anyway.. Kendrick still up. Drake kneecapped himself with this “response”. He takes so much pride in the fact that he made up lies and fed them to Kendrick and that Kendrick believed it.. you know why Kendrick believed your lies Drake? BECAUSE YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO HIDE A CHILD BEFORE. You were stupid enough to do it once why wouldn’t we think you’d do it again?

@whats-this-madness POST ABOUT YOUR SANSES
Since i am always cringe I have redrawn some old sans ocs me and WTM made. Heres what i can fucking remember about their stories
WARNING: REALLY LONG POST UNDER CUT
Tumblr media
MAD(written by WTM)- Mad lives in a universe where Gaster was never pushed into the core. He lives a long, somewhat happy life, with his son. He has two, but the first (Papyrus) dies early in life due to an illness. Sans nearly dies from this same sickness when he’s young but this time Gaster saves his son. Although it left him with only 1 hp, it was worth it. When Gaster dies, Sans takes his place as the royal scientist. He studies, and quickly becomes reveared as Asgores best scientist yet. So, Asgore assigns him a mission, create a wepon capable of killing a human in one hit. This, was not easy. It took him years to get even close. Somewhere along the way he creates something strange… a small skull like creature that can fire a powerful blast from its mouth. Not capable of killing somebody in one blast, but fascinating. It’s behavior and appearance are similar to those of a puppy’s. Sans also seemed to communicate with the creature, not in a palpable way… but he understood it. And it understood him. It was very emotionally intelligent. The scientist was popular in town, being friends with most of the royal guard, some people in town… he and the owner of that bar in town were pretty close. But all good things must come to an end. One day, Error gets a hold of his universe and destroys it. In the chaos, he gets saved. When he awakens, he finds himself in a white void, his Blaster hovers over him. I wonder how he got there?
MAGNUS- a somewhat warped version of Mad. for one, WD Gaster DID fall into the core. instead of error destroying his universe, magnus fucked around and found out, magic edition. He was the royal scientist after gaster, and experimented on himself causing his universe to collapse and him to be trapped in the antivoid. from there, He just has a lot of fun! stealing from AUs, messing with people, avoiding his new neighbor who has a penchant to murder. The works! Til one day he’s invited to a mysterious christmas party (AND FOR THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND, LET IT BE KNOWN THAT IM LAUGHING MY ASS OFF ABOUT THIS STORYLINE). At this party he befriends Fresh sans, and OO BOY.
PINK- idfk man he’s pink. thats it. not everything is a banger. Lust sans exists.
RAINBOW(written by WTM)- So the story behind Rainbow is that he lives in a completely inky black void, if you float to far down, it’ll get you. He lives alone, and he mostly doesn’t mind it. He picks up art and magic. Painting really cheers him up when he’s down and it’s convenient to bring stuff to yourself from across the room. He practices other things to, teleportation, and control of these cool vine things. There’s this one plant he keeps in his art room, a void flower his mother picked for him. He cares for it a lot. It’s practically his only company. He speaks to it, sings it songs, gives it snacks. [they disappear when he looks away.] One day he finds a spell that can give a plant sentience. He immediately try’s this on his plant and it works. He now has a happy, if not very confused flower. He names her Furby and they become besties. One day Furby makes him and Sans lockets, dark purple in color with crappy drawings inside, and San’s loves them. When *they* get higher in the void, San’s slaves over his books to stop *them* before they get to the house. Furby tries to convince him to rest, hang out, play some games, spend time with her. He ignores her. Eventually *they* get to close for comfort. He needed to get them out of there as soon as possible. He had been studying a way to travel between universes and there couldn’t be a better time to test it out. So he prepared the spell and he and Furby hopped dimensions in the nick of time as *they* engulfed the house. When he wakes up, he’s in a completely white void. And Furby is nowhere to be seen. He continues to hop universes to search for his one and only friend. One day he finds Madness san’s universe, through a very panicked Blaster. It’s on the verge of falling apart, so he saves Madness and gets the fuck outta there. Madness follows him around through the void and different au’s, and they become friends. There’s a little bit of drama when Mad learns Rainbow coulda saved his Au’s Grilby but chose not to and his best buddy Blaster told him not to. But it all gets worked out.
my sibling is fucking insane and im sorry this post is so long😭😭😭

What I’ve Been Listening During Spooky Season, Part I Halloween is almost upon us, folks, so you know what that means, right? It means watching nothing but scary movies and listening to spooky music, and you bet that’s what I’ve been doing for the last few weeks. I haven’t written any reviews in a week, give or take, partially because I haven’t wanted to write any, but also because I’ve been sick, so I haven’t had any energy to. Now that I’m back, though, I wanted to talk about a bunch of albums I’ve been listening to in a rapid-fire fashion, namely Halloween-ish and spooky albums that would fit perfectly in the vein of what I’ve been looking for. I’m going break this series up into a few parts, the first being some classic albums from a few bands and artists you’re definitely going to recognize and these I’d consider the top three “spooky” albums to listen to if you want something to frighten party guests if you’re having a Halloween party, or if you want something to play during the day in your headphone that will send chills down your spine. You probably know these albums, and if so, listen to them again. They’re all absolute classics, and there’s a reason people keep coming to these albums year after year, starting with... Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe I’m going to go in descending order, starting with the “youngest” album of the bunch, and that’s Rob Zombie’s debut solo album, Hellbilly Deluxe from 1998. I’d never really listened to Zombie’s music before, but I knew about it. I knew who he was, and I’ve seen some of his horror movies, but his music is something I haven’t touched. I listened to this album, along with one of his records with his former band, White Zombie. They’re a groove-metal band, and while they’re pretty good, I wasn’t as drawn to that record or band as much as this one. Hellbilly Deluxe took a lot of the groovy sounds that Zombie played with, and threw an electronic and industrial kick onto them, sending them into overdrive. Everyone knows “Dragula,” which is named for the Munsters care of the same name (and he did just put out that Munsters film on Netflix), but songs like “Superbeast,” “Living Dead Girl,” and “Meet The Creeper” are absolute bangers that I love playing loudly. They also feature a B-movie horror feel to them, and the lyrics are a lot of fun in that respect. Zombie’s voice is also really creepy and matches the music very well. It showed people that there was a lot more to him than just White Zombie, and following this record, he’d start making movies, but I feel like people more know Rob Zombie as a director and filmmaker than a musician. King Diamond - Abigail Next up is the second album from maybe the spookiest metal musician to grace peoples’ ears, and that’s King Diamond’s sophomore solo album, 1987′s Abigail. Known as the frontman of Mercyful Fate, who’s also quite spooky, Abigail is one of the first horror / metal hybrid concept albums. It’s a bit of a convoluted story, and it doesn’t really make sense unless you read the Wikipedia article on it, but it’s a weird, spooky, and interesting ghost story that’s about a haunted house where the main character and his wife move into after inheriting it. I won’t say anything else, but let’s just say a lot of haunted shenanigans happen, and a lot of awesome vocals and solos come from King Diamond and company. It’s a really catchy album, despite being a concept album, and it’s really short, only a brisk 40 minutes, so it never takes up much time. It’s a lot of fun, despite being really creepy, but it’s one of the ultimate Halloween albums. This album was tailor made for Halloween, although the last album I wanted to talk about might be even more so tailor made for this time of year... Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare If there’s one album out there that I would consider the “spookiest” album in existence, not song but album, it would be Alice Cooper’s debut solo album, Welcome To My Nightmare from 1975. This was my first Alice Cooper album, and it’s an album I really enjoyed, although I wasn’t super in love with it at first listen. I haven’t listened to it in years, but I’ve been playing it a lot lately to get into the Halloween spirit, and man, I love this record. Cooper went solo after releasing a few really successful glam-rock albums with his band of the same name, but this was a chance for him to reinvent himself, and boy, did he do that. This album is a concept album going through the dreams of a young boy named Steven, and it’s about his nightmares that he sees, as well as the crazy and deranged things that go bump in the night. It has everything from spiders, dead bodies, madmen, and even a monologue from Vincent Price himself. It’s a loaded album, but it’s also incredibly fun, catchy, and creepy. This is the album that you want to listen to during Halloween.

Lynn’s Obscure Band Of The Whenever The Fuck It Is #1: Shut Your Eyes & You’ll Burst Into Flames
Sup y’all! So... I listen to a lot of bands that are obscure or not often talked about in the current day and I thought I’d shine a light on some of them from time to time. Today’s first band is Shut Your Eyes & You’ll Burst Into Flames, a math-rock band from England that... frankly put, doesn’t have much material available on them. This makes sense, considering they existed for pretty much three years, from 2005 to May of 2008. Beneath the read more, I take a weirdly shallow deep dive into their content.
The only readily available songs of theirs are found on their Drop The Decade single, here’s a spotify link. It features two songs: Drop The Decade and  I Will Meditate And Then I Will Destroy You. Both are bangers.
Tumblr media
As said above, the Drop the Decade single features the only two easily accessible songs by Shut Your Eyes And You'll Burst Into Flames, as the rest of their music is... difficult to track down. On some streaming services, their song Amputee Smile can be found on a compilation album called “What We All Want” made by their label “Dance To The Radio”, but I’ve noticed that the album will disappear and reappear randomly for seemingly no reason every few months. It is currently on spotify, though! Here’s a link to it.
Tumblr media
Now then. This is where I go crazy and tell you about even more obscure songs by this band, right? FUCK YEAH I AM.
INTRODUCING SIGNAL NOISE, their other single that I have only heard on a high schooler from 2008′s media studies work. I’m not joking. The titular song, Signal Noise can only be found online in this video. Thanks Gavin! Besides a discogs and several store pages listing it, Signal noise is effectively not archived anywhere and the only audio I could find from it is on Gavin’s music video. Fun fact: I found the music video at like 11pm at night because I had to know if they made more music and I lost my mind for like 20 minutes over how that was the ONLY ARCHIVE I COULD FUCKING FIND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Signal Noise does have one other song on it, though, according to Discogs, “Kingdom of Goats”. I looked. I could not find it and am very sad because that name sounds awesome.
Here’s an interesting little tangent: While fact checking stuff, I found out that Signal Noise has several hundred listeners on last.fm. This could be an error, but I’m choosing to take it as proof that the Close Your Eyes and You’ll Burst Into Flames gods are looking down upon us fondly and that the songs are available on some out there. Last.fm also links to itunes for the single... but it isn’t on itunes, damn!
Tumblr media
Oh hey! That’s me!
Tumblr media
Now... surely, we’re done, right? There’s only two singles and a compilation listed on their discogs. SURELY there isn’t ANOTHER unreleased song archived on youtube. SURELY.
Tumblr media
...huh. Yes, this is genuine. And yes, I have listened through it  It’s a banger. Here’s a link.
Then, while researching for this post, I found their myspace. Now, the new myspace is nothing like the old myspace and there’s a LOT of jank with stuff, but myspace still does list their songs, namely:
Drop The Decade
I Will Meditate Then I Will Destroy You
Airwolf
And a fourth song: Futures Rewired. Myspace allows you to listen to these songs, but the audio is broken, likely meaning that the files themselves are gone or were fucked up by the new myspace format. Futures Rewired is part of an album named “Out of the Woods and Trees” which is another Dance To The Radio compilation album... that isn’t backed up anywhere and only has a page on discogs. Somehow I never noticed it when I went through their discogs.
Now, that’s all I’ve got that you can listen to. However, I plucked a few strings while writing this up and have messaged people who have supposedly listened to Kingdom of Goats on discogs and I might get a response. And if I don’t... I could always just buy the Signal Noise vinyl, as well as Out of the Woods and Trees. I’d prefer not to, though.
While that’s all of the songs I can show off, I do wanna share something interesting... an archive of their myspace page. Which I spent an annoyingly stupid amount of time searching for. Which is literally just the front page because everything beyond it isn’t archived. However, this does show some wonderful little teasers for the next few posts I wanna do in future.
Tumblr media
I do wonder what the lake has been doing ever since it caught fire...
Anyway! That’s it, but I do have some cool youtube videos to show off, namely some very low quality recordings of their live shows from when they were active. These are just some cool extras for funsies.

this probably has no real basis in canon (aside from jacobi being whiny in 70% of the precanon content we got within the show) but i feel like lots of people don't appreciate the potential of maxwell and kepler as a comedic duo enough.
i think everyone within si-5 is kind of a clown but the way jacobi is just so. loud about it makes maxwell and kepler (as genius ai specialist and master tactician respectively) take the place as the Sensible Part of the team but can you imagine them bonding together through chaos. bullying jacobi together by committing to some shitty little bit.
i think as they get more attuned to each other that would be something they'd enjoy leaning into every once in a while, if only bc of how it catches people off guard. kepler doing a stupid joke? okay sure. maxwell doing a stupid joke? makes sense. both of them pulling your leg TOGETHER? horrifying. you'll never see it coming
and they're soooo similar too. you KNOW they'd be on the same wavelength, running a joke so smoothly you wouldn't even notice what's happening until it's too late. they're both already so good at playing with people's expectations i think they should abuse that power more

the reason kepler is so fascinating to me is that what intrigues me is how a character is made. what do you get when you pick them apart? how do they find their place in the plot and change its course? what were the writers thinking?
and with kepler it's like. all those question lead back to him? he's so much a creation of himself it's like he almost exists outside of the story, or maybe inside his own.
warren kepler is a performance, a collection of skills that does what the plot (or his perspective of it) needs him to. and the thing is... *he* did that. if he’s a construction that’s a construction *he* made. it sets him apart from everyone else. he enters like an actor walking on stage, observing from the outside and planning his next move accordingly and completely deliberately. which is exactly what a fictional character is: something constructed that fulfills a specific purpose within a story.
kepler always has that goddard-sanctioned performance on his mind and it makes him seem so detached from the rest of the cast. they’re hit so hard by everything that happens: they get hurt, change, or straight up die. even within si-5: maxwell is killed by the story. jacobi is changed forever.
for most of the time, kepler is barely touched in such a deliberate way. he loses his hand in the most painful way possible and it SHOULD be a way the story touches him. but he just doesn't acknowledge it and so he almost exists separately from it, still pursuing his mission.
but here's the thing: he's not a detached character. he's actually a PERSON and his performance doesn’t free him from the weight of the plot, it's actually just an additional thing for him to carry. he does such a good job fooling the characters around him and fooling US that it doesn't show, and maybe he's got himself fooled too.
but there's one moment the performance ends and he comes back to the ground, and the story reaches out, touches him, makes him face consequences, which is in the finale when he dies.
and what’s one thing that happens just before that, that has nothing to do with his mission or his creation of himself? it's admitting that he's a person. it's taking a dive head-first into the narrative and facing the consequences, because you know what? they're worth it.
which is to say can you IMAGINE the kind of identity crisis he’d go through if he made it out of the whole thing alive holy shit

10 most underrated Joni Mitchell songs
Joni Mitchell’s surprise return to Spotify marks the first day of my life. Two grueling years of mp3 downloads, YouTube video playlists, and Apple Music temptations took quite the toll, but we’ve made it. To celebrate, here’s a list of 10 criminally underrated Joni bangers that deserve your streams. Now!
Tumblr media
“Refuge of the Roads” (1976)
The ultimate highway soundtrack, “Refuge of the Roads” is an escapist hallucination with some of the sexiest bass you’ll ever hear. Joni’s on the run, hiding from the critics and her deep-seeded feelings of love that keep her from being the picture of independence she longed to be. The song details her miraculous recovery from cocaine addiction thanks to a Tibetan Buddhist master in Colorado and the insignificance of her emotional existence. It’s also one of her favorite songs she ever recorded!
“Judgment of the Moon and Stars (Ludwig’s Tune)” (1972)
A piano tribute to Beethoven, “Ludwig’s Tune” is Joni finding solace in another legendary musician’s experience of being misinterpreted. Just like Ludwig, her art was deemed “too raw” at a time where no one was trauma dumping like Joni was. The song is a peak in Joni’s orchestration skills, with glorious winds and vocal runs, plus some of her best poetry to match.
“Talk to Me” (1977)
I never thought the same woman who sang “A Case Of You” would be literally chicken squawking on record, but we’re blessed to live in that reality. Joni’s sense of humor on “Talk To Me” is on full display, dodging punchy acoustic guitar and raging fretless bass, begging “Mr. Mystery” (presumably Bob Dylan) to talk to her. “You spend every sentence as if it was marked currency / Come and spend some on me” is lyrical brilliance, not to mention one of the most iconic opening lines, period.
“Harry’s House/Centerpiece” (1975)
Joni’s storytelling skills fly under the radar way too often, despite her pointed observations in “Harry’s House/Centerpiece” being one of the greatest critiques of gender roles in music. Her blend of jazz fusion and a jazz standard adds to the traditional versus modern views of gender roles she’s observing, and her top tier crooning sells it hard. Not to mention Harry Styles named a whole album after the song!
Borderline (1994)
Not many of Joni’s songs match the intensity of “Borderline,” with a drop dead gorgeous steel guitar/organ combo and insightful 50-year-old cynicism. I think of “Borderline” as her 90s version of “Both Sides Now”. She makes sure to remind us that no one really knows life at all, and pretending otherwise only builds the borderlines between us. A brutally honest queen!
“Love” (1982)
For someone who allegedly doesn’t know love at all, Joni seems very well-acquainted with it on this song. Her insightful takes are a lot to digest, but they’re paired with winding early-80s production that work seamlessly. Think Leonard Cohen-level poetry and Steely Dan-esque funk with just a touch of 80s cheesiness.
“People’s Parties” (1974)
Even Joni has social anxiety, and “People’s Parties” is very that. Her descriptions of the posh social climbers and dramatics at the exclusive events she attends is strangely relatable to your average introvert, while also serving up a juicy critique of elitism in showbusiness. “People’s Parties” is some of her most charismatic musical phrasing, and her lower register in the outro scratches every itch in my brain.
“The Dry Cleaner From Des Moines” (1979)
Charles Mingus pulled something so specific out of Joni that is not talked about enough. On “TDCFDM,” Joni’s practically playing the part of every instrument next to bumbling bass, skittering drums, floating saxophone, and razor-sharp horns, and sounding next-level doing it. If anything Joni’s made proves her supernatural abilities, it’s this song.
Conversation (1970)
“Conversation” is the original love triangle song, and Joni is feeling chaotic. She’s helplessly flirting back and forth with a guy who’s taken, bringing him apples and cheese and listening to him rant about his relationship issues. Sonically the song is the perfect encapsulation of obsessing over someone new, and her signature soprano is perfection as per usual.
The Last Time I Saw Richard (1971)
Holding a candle to ballads like “A Case Of You” and “River” seems unthinkable, but Blue’s closer makes it look easy. Richard and Joni play two sides of a spectrum; Richard being chewed up and spit out by pain and heartbreak, while Joni is fighting for optimism amidst the emotional devastation we hear on Blue. Joni’s pissed and panicked that someone could give up on happiness, so she’s “gonna blow this damn candle out,” refusing to let life get the best of her.
Here's my comprehensive guide to Joni in playlist form including influences, influencers, and more. Happy listening!

2022 Wrapped.
Happy New Year everyone! With the holiday season wrapping up, I wanted to recap on all things Make A Tune last year:
SOREUM
Tumblr media
Musically, I got the metal out of my system with a 4 track Djenty EP, with riffs that had been hanging about in musical purgatory ever since I acquired my 7 String guitar.
A classic musician trope is being too precious with ideas, waiting too long, and never putting them out into the world.
The ep has my first attempts of adding synths and sounds outside of just guitar bass drums into a metal song.
The song that came together the best for me was “Gatekeeper”. Not only was it my favourite riff, but the lyrics of the song are very much about what “make a tune” is conceptually.
GATEKEEPER MV
My second DIY music video, shot on iPhone, where I used multiple takes of myself whilst keeping the phone in the same place, then editing them together to look like a band lol. I made something similar at the end of 2021 when I recorded 3 songs in one take, 4 times (bass, guitar 1, guitar 2, vocals) to create a sort of fake but real live show. This was easier as it was just for the visual purpose. Still worked out pretty well for a budget of Zero!
MAKE A TUNE CONTENT
Tumblr media
I know, I know. It is what it is. Everyone calls it content, to the point where I think it’s either lost its pretentiousness or it’s just eaten all other possible words around it. Anyway, there was a few interesting things on YouTube.
Tumblr media
My baritone video did really well. I guess it was a new guitar that must have peaked a lot of people’s interest. I really enjoyed hearing people’s thoughts and engaging in the comments with questions people had. Whilst I definitely don’t have the credentials to be a product review guy, I think if there’s anything new things I pick up this year, I will put more effort into sharing my thoughts on it.
MAKE A VLOG
Tumblr media
I didn’t do as many KPop metal covers this year, mainly as I was working on Soreum. My first venture into mixing my metal riffs with KPop was inspired by Dreamcatcher in 2020, when Scream showed up in my timeline and opened my ears to the possibility. This year they have inspired me to grow the channel in a different way: by documenting my journeys seeing them live!
BEATS AND PIECES:
Tumblr media
Even with all the travel, it wasn’t till last month that I actually got Covid for the first time! I WORKED THROUGH LOCKDOWN 2020 AS AN ESSENTIAL WORKER AND EVERYTHING, SO ANNOYING!
Anyway, whilst I self isolated, I got to do a project that I had wanted to do for a while. Similar to what I said before about my metal riffs, I have built up so many little musical projects that were gonna sit there doing nothing on my hard drive. So I went through a bunch, picked a mix of genres, filled them out, and released them as instrumentals in an album called Beats and Pieces. Are they all bangers? Nope! But it’s a good starting point to hear where I’m at as a total novice producer trying new things, seeing what works, what resonates with people. It also serves as a good way to free myself for this year.
2023
I literally have no idea, AND ITS AWESOME!
SOREUM got the metal out my system, Beats and Pieces got all the little half ideas and experiments out there. I feel like I have a blank canvas with no lingering projects I need to finish off.
I want to make something fresh, something that doesn’t exist yet not even as an idea or a humming tune in my head, or a specific genre of music that I always said I would do. I’m just going to make the music I feel like making there and then, and go for it!
Content wise I think I might go back to live streaming, but just on YouTube not twitch. I think I can engage with an audience more if there’s no definite goal with the tune making. Like if I was live streaming producing SOREUM it would have been very dull, messing up, taking no suggestions, getting frustrated at not achieving the exact thing I’m wanting to do. But freestyle music making with people suggesting ideas could be a lot of fun!
That’s it from me, thanks for everyone showing interest in my weird little musical world. Here’s to another year of good times and good tunes!
Much love
Scott

CHANCE デラソウル - No New Music
(Future Funk, Nu-Disco, Bitpop)
CHANCE デラソウル's latest album is his best in a long time, poking at his sample-heavy future funk sound while taking things faster and fiercer than ever before. No New Music is a 39 minute onslaught of explosive and kaleidoscopic dance songs that bring out the best in Chance as a producer and curator.
☆☆☆☆
CHANCE デラソウル releases album after album after album, and yet they're always consistently well-made and tons of fun to listen to, never anything less. It's been his secret weapon since stepping into the future funk scene that burst to life in the late 2010s, now one of the artists keeping its sound alive even after the initial hype from it died down, his commitment to the soulful, sample-based production decorating bubbly and joyous dance groove making for one of the most unusual and thrilling discographies in the contemporary electronica scene. His latest release, No New Music, once again delivers a strong collection of his groovy future funk, but pokes fun at itself along the way, old new samples and interviews about the concept of sampling as a whole stitched into songs who rely on them to exist in the first place, recognizing the unusual nature of his music while embracing it entirely. It's an extremely fun listen because of the fact that it takes Chance's sound to the extreme, stuffing every song with so many samples and melodies and grooves that it's impossible not to be swept up by his tidal waves of horns, vocal chops, and fast-paced drum samples. First off, this album has got energy like no other. Chance's music has always been fast-paced and easily danceable, but he doesn't let a second go to waste on songs like Completely Its Own with its noisy pitch-shifted horns and blistering drum loop, or I'm Still Here with its chiptune synths and thrumming backbeat rhythm, making sure the album's meta-commentary on plunderphonics as a genre doesn't weigh down the joy his music has always provided. It also feels like his most consistent album in a good while because of that, too, the album's overarching concept always incentivizing Chance to take every song as far as he can, throwing a fantastic beat switch into the second half of Creative Theft that transforms the song from a club banger to a suave midnight drive down the highway before throwing you right back into the heat of the dancefloor at the end, and even throwing a bit of a drum 'n' bass kick into It's Over to really get things moving as the album comes to a close, deconstructing the nature of his sound through old interview and news samples ("If you can catch me, then I didn't do my job" is one thrown in multiple times throughout the album) and then seeing just how much he can pull from his sample-heavy future funk sound until he's covered as much ground as he possibly can. Rarely is the flow of No New Music interrupted by a song that feels less lively than the rest: it is an album of movement and energy that Chance has no interest in trying to halt in the slightest. Fitting with the album's exploration of plunderphonics and sampling as a technique for creating new songs, Chance occasionally forgoes the disco grooves and layered sampling for something a bit more organic and laid-back. The cheekily-titled Changing Sound is a dark, thrumming synthwave jam with neon guitars, a pulsing house groove, and layered synth arpeggios that make for one of the prettiest songs in Chance's entire discography, even as it aims for a sound far outside of his norm. Soon acts as an interlude into the album's final few tracks with its winding synth melody and chiptune layers that bring to mind the sound of his albums under the Amiga Deluxe name than anything else, and the breakbeat-infused finale My Beat Forever does a charismatic, if messy job at bringing a different style into Chance's world and finding a fun way to weave it into his traditional sound and make for a wonderfully offbeat way to bring No New Music to an end. In a roundabout way, it also makes the straightforward future funk tracks here even more enjoyable, a comfort zone to return to after the album's more experimental passages as the title track's immediate hit of dopamine or You've Heard This Song Before's playful blend of noisy synths act as a returning point that always brings on a good time. No New Music is one part classic Chance and one part him exploring the outer reaches of his sound, bringing to life one of the strongest collections of songs he's ever put out that feel both innovative and true to his heart. With a novel concept and songs that are always a delight, No New Music proves that CHANCE デラソウル's commitment to future funk is one of his biggest artistic strengths, the fundamental starting point from which all his music branches out from. It's always been quite incredible how consistent his discography has been all throughout, and the way he takes things to the next level here with songs completely outside of his signature sound makes for one of the most electrifying listens he's put out in a long time. Future funk will always be around as long as Chance is, and it's clear that with No New Music he's still finding ways to make it feel fresh and exciting in his own unique way. His formula is solid, but that doesn't mean he's not looking to develop on it when he gets a chance, and it seems No New Music was just the right time for that. It's creative, it's uplifting, and it's a joy to listen to, but most importantly, it's another opportunity for Chance to show off his one-of-a-kind sound, with the added bonus of how inventive and willing to play with its own structure No New Music is. At its core, it's more CHANCE デラソウル, and that's impossible to pass up.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you’ve written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
Scrambles around the AO3 account trying to make sure it’s not all Douxie OR the extreme AU oneshots that make zero sense out of context.
Fic One: Ghosts he left behind - Tales of Arcadia
What: The bathtub scene happened after the episode A House Divided, Jim never returned home afterwards.
Why: Originally the idea hit me after getting the song Broken Crown stuck in my head one New Years Day and just wanting to explore how different things would be if Jim was without that all essential support network. It was an accident of course, never meant to happen and yet it did. Merlin experiences melted cheese, Toby has banger one liners, Claire is trying to keep a brave face as war nips at their heels and it’s just generally ~fun~
This has been on hold for over a year now due to it deals with the themes of loss without answers using previous experiences, last February I lost a best friend and to this day have no idea what happened. It’s just been a bit too close to home for me to handle. I hope I’ll be up to it again soon.
Fic Two - As long as there are stars in the sky - Tales of Arcadia
What: It shouldn’t have happened yet the Amulet of Daylight decided to pay Douxie a visit after Kanjigar fell and given it won’t leave him alone it seems Merlin has decided he should have it. He is not thrilled by this development.
Why: I love writing Douxie. Here I can it, Zouxie, have absolute fucking chaos of them being the Trollhunter & Co. such as when he spritzed Draal in the face with water, Blinky rubbing everyone the wrong way and how existing knowledge really kilters things differently than a couple teens going in blind. Also I keep getting to spend ages making coherent Trollish which is fun.
Fic Three - Along came a word - A writing meme collection
What: A whole collection of prompted “drabbles” mostly around Nomura, Douxie, Otto or the Gumm-Gumm General Gnasha I kidnapped but sometimes other characters too.
Why: It’s probably a bit more adding these particularly when I owe five fake fanfic titles at the moment but I love the erratic nature of these? Sometimes it’s a troll dad date, sometimes it’s ensuring historical accuracy for what language is used at the time, it might be the funniest time for Jolene to pop up. Who knows! A Zadra and Izita one made someone very happy and that was worth it alone.
Fic Four - I know it now, beyond the sky - Tales of Arcadia
What: A Hammerhunter giftshot set in the Ghost!AU verse of supporting your bestie when you’re both about to start high school.
Why: This is ridiculously fluffy Toby wanting to have a game plan in place to limit the chance of people realising Jim is Trans and if things do go pearshaped having a backup.
Fic Five - The sun has set on Adrien Agreste - Miraculous Ladybug
What: Chat Blanc was de-akumatised but the timeline didn’t collapse after the other Ladybug left and now everyone is left to pick up the pieces. The problem is surviving civilians aren’t the only ones who remember...
Why: I get an active OT3 ship off the bat, a slightly nerfed Blanc in his old colours who is largely in hiding, Hawkmoth is beaten but there’s still three miraculous missing and a world is trying to recover from a tragedy that was (Technically) wiped clean. Only one chapter is up with the next half started but the chaos is great particularly the relationship between Luka, Chat and Marinette/Ladybug who was one of the first to die originally. Just don’t call him Adrien, he doesn’t seem to be available right now.

what’s an unpopular opinion you have about rwby??
I don’t think have any unpopular opinion elaborate enough or worth making an entire post about; so I’ll just make a short list I guess. I also don’t know if all of these are unpopular.
[This is not me dissing the show. Calm yourself]
Pyrrha was kinda boring. Like she was really cool and I do like her, but she was boring to me too. I was more sad that her friends were sad about her death. That statue scene still hits though.
Adam was a lackluster antagonist and yet is still the most threatening/useful one in this series. Things got done, character arcs existed because of him, and banger music.
Freezerburn or Checkmate would be more intriguing than BB in my opinion. BB works fine and makes sense, but most of that relationship feels like the only thing they have connecting them is trauma. Still ship it, but I wish for more out of it.
Clover is a nothing character that the show and fandom care too much about. Vine has more depth than Clover did.
Aight, I say this one with care. Blake…is kinda useless, or at the very least a subpar teammate. She hasn’t helped her friends much. The most she’s brought to the table was her own problems. Granted she had a character arc to go through but Weiss has also and still managed to give more physical and emotional support to her friends. Not just her team either, I mean the cast. [I swear I don’t hate Blake. She had some of the best songs and action pieces.]
The gods aren’t mean. Salem should’ve stopped doubling down on messing with them and learn to mourn like everyone else in life.
Rhodes isn’t a terrible person for not immediately taking Cinder away. That’s kidnapping and this show doesn’t tell us if buying kids for child labor is illegal. They allow faunus labor with terrible work conditions after all. Putting real world logistical expectations in this fantasy world is impossible for the most part.
Cinder being abused doesn’t make the consequences of murdering those three people disappear.
Qrow is a terrible guardian for our heroes. Besides explaining more lore, he hasn’t helped much much outside of one fight in V4 and Hazel beating him up.
Ruby, Nora, and Oscar are the only outfit changes I think are cooler/just as cool as their previous one. [They should’ve never let me seen Ren with his hair down. Call this man L’Oréal because he’s worth it!]
Volume 8 is the last half of Volume 3 but narratively infuriating. V8 is super interesting and engaging, but personally I just don’t like many choices made.
Taiyang is a good dad. Not perfect, but he’s pretty good.
Willow is worse mom than Raven.
Emerald switching sides feels off since her commitment was always to Cinder instead of Salem. I get her leaving but not leaving to them join the group that will actively hinder Cinder.
Lastly, and this one is more of theory, but what if Summer is alive and just cares more about the mission as a whole than her own family? So basically what if Kali is the only good mom in this show💀
A lot of this stuff really is just personal opinion though. It’s not my show. I don’t write it, so I can’t complain too much. RT can do what they want to do because it’s their vision. I would like to know though how many times and how many people read the script before saying “Yeah that’ll work.” Like I would like to know for knowledge sake because sometimes it feels like they’ve proof read it 100 times. Other times o feels like someone grabbed the rough draft. It’s so jarring. Each episode is like a box of chocolates.

Got the Aux hcs||Jujutsu Kaisen
A/N:  These hcs are prolly gonna vary from general artists/genres to general chaos towards the end :D also gonna do some for the kyoto school...eventually. Didn’t incl. Yuuta because he’s not here yet but tbh he prolly listens to MCR or smthng let’s be real. I apologize for Maki’s being so short, I know her fanbase is starving for content and I’m sorry I was unable to provide it this time.
Word Count: 1123
Plot Synopsis: Some dumb music taste headcanons for the tokyo school. ((I only included characters that have appeared in the anime like fully, onscreen w lines not just mentioned, and I also only did the main ppl from the Tokyo school so that’s why there’s no Yuta or Nanami.))
Itadori
First and foremost
The man is a barb (Nicki Minaj fans) and a hottie (Megan thee stallion fans)
No I don’t take criticism
Aside from that, Yuji listens to pop and some rap (mostly megan thee stallion)
His pop taste is also not limited by generation, he definitely listens to artists like Anri and Miki Matsubara
Other artists he listens to are probably; Rihanna, Post Malone(he just does, idk why), Doja Cat, Brittany Spears, Shakira, Kesha, Lizzo, Ariana Grande
Fushiguro
Fushiguro unironically listened to wake me up inside in middle school, again, I do not take criticism
He also listens to artists like Mother Mother
Fushiguro is kinda embarrassed of his music tastes though so he’ll lie about what he’s listening to
“Fushiguro what are you listening to?”
*cue panicked Fushiguro struggling to put his phone away* “N-Nothing why”
Also this man listens to Lady Gaga and probably some Panic at the Disco
But for sure panic at the disco
Also he makes playlist named after his friends and what not
Now one might say aww, how sweet
Which, yes it is, but also, Fushiguro refuses to let anyone know his true music tastes so adaptation is necessary for survival
If Fushiguro has the aux, it’s a good day, he knows everyone’s music tastes and probably already has a playlist tailored specifically to everyone’s taste, there’s never a single song that everyone hates
Kugisaki
She listens to Avril Lavigne and Kesha
Her and Yuuji have pretty similar music tastes (himbo/lesbian solidarity)
She also listens to songs like Jenny(by the studio killers) and Youth(Troye Sivan) and just stares at the ceiling pining
Her playlist reflects this
From pop to pining and then back again
Also she hasn’t stopped streaming Driver’s License(Olivia Rodrigo), her and Yuuji listen to it and every time she just falls out (when it first came out, she got so invested in the drama of it all)
Genres she listens to are rock ballads, pop, and any playlist with words including but not limited to ‘wlw’, ‘girls are pretty’, ‘how to not have a crush on Maki-senpai’
Artists she listens to incl. Kali Uchis (stumbled upon Dead To Me and hasn’t ben the same since), Queen, pop girlies like Brittany Spears, and Troye Sivan
Maki
Maki mainly listens to workout music or indie/chill beats
Like her playlists are lowkey dry
And she refuses to use spotify premium, even though Gojo’s paying fo it
I can also see her listening to an occasional orchestral/instrumental piece like Ushiwakamaru
Inumaki also kind of put her onto listening to video game soundtracks, she probably listens to the soundtracks of games like Persona tbh
She does allow herself the small pleasure of listening to Hozier from time to time
Inumaki
Inumaki is a menace
His music taste, while there are bangers, mainly consists of music found in memes/tiktoks/etc.
((He also listens to video game music, but more of the Mario Kart sort))
I’m thinking like Vengaboys, Aqua, etc.
He does listen to other artists like Junko Ohashi and Rina Sawayama on occasion, the majority of his music taste exists to make him laugh as he thinks of all the random jokes made to the songs
Whenever, Inumaki has the aux cord, everyone in the car just mentally prepares themselves
With Inumaki, they feel bad telling him to stop because he’s really sweet and nice, and, maybe he just doesn’t know
But he does know, he just doesn’t care
Panda
Panda listens to 80/90s rap
Tbh he’s got the best music taste out of everyone sorry not sorry
He mainly listened to whatever Yaga put on growing up so that’s why his taste is older than he is
Artists for Panda include Biggie, Pac, Outkast, etc.
Principal Yaga is black I just know Panda grew up listening to Ice Cube and the like while he was training I just knowwww
Panda’s playlist choices though usually aren’t too egregious
While Panda’s no Fushiguro in terms of adaptability, who’s really gonna be opposed to listening to bangers from the 90′s
Gojo
Gojo’s taste in music exists solely to torture Fushiguro
Now does he necessarily like any of these songs he plays? No
But does his desire to antagonize out rule his dislike? Yesyesyesyesyes
Gojo, unlike Inumaki, does not get the same sympathy
When Gojo syncs up his Bluetooth (bcus let’s be real that man does not have a car with a physical aux cord) everyone in the car just lets out the loudest groan
Just for that he’s gonna make 3 extra unnecessary turns
In actuality though, when he’s not bothering his students or Nanami, I imagine Gojo is a fan of 90′s rap as well as classical music
I think he also likes rock too, he discovered it back in his student days and it never really went away
He also definitely has a playlist called something like ‘my main character music’
General car shenanigans(imagine this as a class trip to some place that’s about 2 hours away)
Gojo and Inumaki team up to antagonize everyone
Like they will play 10 hour loops of caramelldansen with absolutely ZERO remorse
Fushiguro and Kugisaki slowly just go insane during the course of this
Although, Kugisaki will be a lot more vocal about it, cussing up a storm by the 4th loop.
This will then lead to Gojo and Inumaki being overthrown; Gojo being replaced with Ichiji at the wheel and Inumaki on thin fuckin ice
When the inevitable silence becomes too much to handle, Yuuji will tentatively offer to play his music
It’s all good, California Girls and Toxic instant hits
Yujji’s reign will end in one of two ways; 1) eventually, a Megan Thee Stallion song comes on a Gojo’s like “whoa kid, that’s not very family friendly” or 2)The sound of Kugisaki, Gojo, and Itadori singing poorly on purpose pushes Maki to take over out of frustration
Either way Maki takes over and they all kinda doze off because of how chill and soothing Maki’s music is
This ends when Ichiji gets a little too relaxed by the music and almost swerves, causing them to abruptly cut the music off
Panda just puts his paws up non-defensively like, “Don’t ask me, my music isn’t family-friendly either
At which point they all look to Fushiguro to save the day
And he does... until his phone battery dies
(Bonus) Sukuna
Sukuna probably tunes out all the miscellaneous stuff that Yuuji listens to
But one day he was minding his business till he heard Yuuji playing a Nicki Minaj song
Now, whenever Yuuji falls asleep, Sukuna will pop out every once in a while just to turn on Nicki.

ayo here besties have my take on Derivikat’s Revived bc as much as it’s a banger the c!wilbur analyst in me is just Losing it over the character interpretation
(please note, nothing against the song or the artists, again I think the song slaps and the art is incredible!! there’s just some stuff that doesn’t sit right with me and I wanted to put my ramble out there!! Also, this is all just opinion!! Please feel free to disagree with me, I think the different interpretations of c!wilbur are really fascinating!!)
————
in my opinion, Revived reads as an outside characterization of Wilbur from just moments after he was revived. Which is fine, it just means that it loses a lot of the nuance that his character has in favor of going “oh no he’s back he’s got big plans oh fuck” which is valid, but feels very far removed from how his character *actually* existed during the revival stream. The song just doesn’t feel like it has c! Wilbur’s voice as a character in it.
I really do think the art in revived is very good! However, it leans into the whole “red eyes, evil plans, bad guy” lens on wilbur which I am just Very Much Not A Fan Of because when this portrayal of his character was most popular, he was in the middle of a self destructive mental spiral. (See the “are we the bad guys” stream.) The whole concept of drawing him with glowing red eyes to represent his villainy and (in the case of the pogtopia arc) making him encroach upon Tommy’s personal space to prove a point/“manipulate” him just feels like such a surface level take on the character for me, and while again this is valid, it’s frustrating bc all these big creators keep making content where they paint him like this and due to their popularity he becomes widely villianized in artwork/people’s interpretations of him. In my opinion the revival stream read as him being excited to be alive again and free from his own personal hell, and to have it be an “I’m back, this has been my plan all along, I’m here to fuck shit up and take everything back” just feels Icky to me.
At this point I feel that though his apologies to people weren’t well executed he did genuinely mean them and while again, this song was made before more recent lore streams and has a right to interpret that as him being up to no good or whatever like,,, the man was a Mess that entire stream! He couldn’t even make a point without contradicting himself, of course his apologies are gonna feel weird!
My final point is about limbo and the way the ycgma pallete is used in the song because as much as I love when it’s used it just feels like an weird interpretation of limbo/the album itself to me. the album is so deeply rooted in Wilbur’s mental health and does a great job at expressing the vulnerabilities it needs to, but to take c!wilbur, who clearly is going through a lot of the stuff referenced in the album, and use it so it’s almost like, weaponised?? (Not exactly the word I’m looking for but you know, ycgma feels a lot angrier and like a tool towards a goal in this, at least to me) I dunno it just rubs me the wrong way.
Tldr my take on the revival is essentially “man is stuck in the physical representation of his mental illness and is happy when he’s finally freed bc thirteen and a half years of solitary confinement is Literally Torture holy shit” and the fact that it’s interpreted on a very large scale as “man has used his time dead to his advantage. He’s back, he’s manipulative as ever, he’s evil, and you’d better watch out” just stresses me out because again, it’s such a surface level characterization and he just has so much more depth to him.
Again these are all just my opinions, please feel free to disagree!! I think it’s really interesting how other people view him and other viewpoints are absolutely valid!! That’s the beauty of being able to watch this story from different perspectives, it leaves a lot up to interpretation :)))
