Partners in Crime #5
"So Flash, you got a girlfriend?"
(Y/N) munched on a Twizzler from Cisco's stash, bored out of her mind.
It was a slow day at STAR labs. No metahumans had popped up in town, and no criminals were doing bad things. It was a good thing, but that meant Team Flash had nothing to do, but lounge around the lab all day. It came to the point that (Y/N) took the liberty of counting how many Twizzlers Cisco had in his "secret" stash.
Dr. Wells wheeled into the room, noting the quietness of the usually chaotic atmosphere. "Well, it seems that even the bad guys have a day off." The team chuckled upon hearing him. "Why don't you all take the day off as well? No use wasting time here waiting for a crime that's not going to happen."
(Y/N)'s eyes lit up, having come up with an idea. "Hey, why don't we all go out today? We could invite Barry too!" She looked at her friends for their thoughts. Caitlin and Cisco both nodded in approval, while the Flash didn't seem too keen on the idea. Before she could ask what the problem was, Dr. Wells spoke up.
"Count me out, as well as the Flash. I need to run some tests on his biometrics." The Flash quickly nodded, agreeing with the doctor's statement.
"If there's work to be done still, then I'll stay too." (Y/N) frowned in disappointment, but didn't want to have Dr. Wells do all the work. She wasn't being paid to eat stolen Twizzlers..
"Nonsense, you all go out." He shooed them with his hands. "It's some small tests, so I assure you, I can conduct them myself."
Seeing the skeptical look in her eyes, he motioned for Caitlin and Cisco to lead her out of the lab.
"Fine, fine. I'll go," she said, being dragged out by her friends.
_______________________
"Caitlin, honey, I think you should stop drinking now." (Y/N) tried coaxing her friend to put down the new glass of vodka she had ordered, on her newly opened tab.
When the three friends left the lab, they had no idea where to go to. (Y/N) suggested the karaoke bar, that Caitlin had visited with Barry. She thought it would be good practice for Barry, for the Christmas caroling. Of course, Barry didn't know what he was going to be forced into, and accepted the invite. Once they got to the bar, however, she got distracted from her mission, instead trying to prevent Caitlin from having the worst hangover tomorrow morning.
"I need to pee." Caitlin mumbled, her face scrunching up.
"Alright, let's get you to a toilet." She turned to Cisco, whispering so Barry wouldn't hear her. "I'm going to take Cait to the bathroom. I bestow my mission unto you, brave soldier. I expect Barry to be on stage singing when we get back."
"Sir, yes sir!" Cisco saluted, assuring her he wouldn't let her down.
And he sure didn't let her down. After ten minutes in the bathroom, she walked out, with Caitlin leaning against her, to hear the crowd chanting.
"BARRY! BARRY! BARRY!"
Walking back to their table, she shot Cisco a questioning look, noticing Barry was absent from his seat. He titled his head over to the stage, where she could see Barry holding a mic, not looking too enthusiastic. She burst out in laughter, patting Cisco on the back.
"Good job soldier, I knew I could count on you." She continued to laugh as her eyes met Barry's and he threw her an annoyed glare. In response, she stuck her tongue out at him, playfully. But, she then noticed his glare turn into a smirk.
"Cisco, why is B-"
She was interrupted by Barry's voice over the microphone. "You know, my friend, (Y/N), promised that she would sing with me tonight."
If looks could kill, Barry would be dead.
She quickly planned an escape plan in her head. If she left now, she could make it out the door, and ask Cisco to bring Caitlin over to her car.
But there was no use. She knew she was doomed, when she heard another chant start to happen. And this time, she wasn't the one laughing.
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! (Y/N)! (Y/N)!" She could feel the whole bar staring at her. Even Cisco started chanting along.
"Oh, you better run once the song's over Allen," she muttered under her breath, glaring darkly at the laughing Barry. With no choice left, she trudged up to the stage, glaring at her friend the whole way up.
Putting a hand over the mic, so the crowd wouldn't hear, she whispered to him.
"I hope you run fast."
Barry just chuckled, unfazed by the threat that came from the petite woman. A random song was picked, the music starting preventing the outbreak of an argument. Seeing that she was supposed to sing first, she sighed and glared at Barry.
"I really can't stay~"
Barry looked surprised, for a brief moment, before returning back to his smirk.
"But baby, it's cold outside," he responded.
She could see the teasing glint in his eyes. In front of her, she could hear some people in the crowd chuckle and a few whistle.
"I've got to go away~"
"But baby, it's cold outside." (Y/N) noted that her duet partner did really have a good voice, slowly forgetting about being forced to sing.
"This evening has been~"
"Been hoping that you'd drop in."
"~so very nice."
Barry, fully committing to the song, held her hand while singing, "I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice."
Playing along, she playfully swatted his hand away. "My mother will start to worry~"
"Beautiful, what's your hurry?"
"My father will be pacing the floor."
"Listen to the fire place roar~"
"So really, I'd better scurry~" she motioned walking off the stage.
"Beautiful, please don't hurry~" Barry turned her around and led her closer to the middle of the stage.
"But maybe just a half a drink more…" she smiled, letting him pull her in closer.
"I'll put some records on while I pour."
"The neighbors might think" She acted worried, going along with the lyrics of the song.
"Baby, it's bad out there." He held her side to prevent her from moving away.
"Say, what's in this drink?" She threw him a questioning glance.
"No cabs to be had out there."
"I wish I knew how"
Barry caught her eyes, in his gaze. His eyes lost all teasing, instead filled with something else. "You're eyes are like starlight tonight."
"To break this spell." She felt her cheeks heat up.
"I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell." He sang, while gently holding a lock of her hair.
"I ought to say no, no, no sir." She wiggled her finger in front of his face.
"Oh, mind if I move in closer?" He moved in closer, lessening the space between them.
"At least I'm gonna say that I tried." She felt a familiar feeling in her stomach.
"What's the sense in hurting my pride?" He continued to move in closer, barely leaving any space between them now.
"I really can't stay~" She sang, but didn't move away from him.
"But baby don't hold out"
They looked at each other before singing in unison. "Cause baby it's cold outside."
She moved away from his hold to sing the second verse. "I simply must go~"
A part of her wanted to leave. She wasn't sure what to think, when he looked at her with those eyes.
"But baby it's cold outside," he caught her before she could get closer to the edge of the stage.
"The answer is no, no, no~" She sang, but didn't try to leave again.
"Aw baby, it's cold outside"
"Your welcome has been~"
"How lucky that you dropped in."
"So nice and warm,"
"Look out the window, at that storm." He pointed towards the window, that seemed like a silent night.
"My sister will be suspicious."
"Gosh, your lips are delicious."
The both of them turned pink at the lyrics, but didn't break eye contact.
"And my brother will be there at the door," she continued to sing.
"Waves on a tropical shore."
"My maiden aunt's mind is vicious."
"Oom gosh, your lips are so delicious" She couldn't but blush again, while Barry smiled at her reaction.
"But maybe just a cigarette more."
"Oh never such a blizzard before." He motioned again to outside, playfully smiling.
"I've got to get home~"
"But baby, you'll freeze out there."
Barry tugged (Y/N) closer, bringing her into his embrace.
"Say lend me your coat." She tugged on the lapel of his coat.
"Oh, up to your knees out there."
"You've really been grand~"
"I thrill when you touch my hand." Barry grabbed her hand and put it in his pocket.
"But you don't see, no, no."
"How can you do this thing to me?"
There's bound to be talk tomorrow." They were so caught up in their duet, they didn't notice that the whole bar had their attention at them with knowing smiles on their faces.
"Think of my life long sorrow."
"At least there will be plenty implied." He gave her a wink.
"If you caught pneumonia and died."
"But I really can't stay."
"Get over that whole doubt."
Their eyes didn't leave each other's as they finished the last verse of the song in harmony. "Oh baby it's cold outside."
At the finish of their song, the bar cheered, whistling and clapping for the talented duo. The two proceeded with a short bow, while holding hands, then walked off the stage. When reaching their friends, (Y/N) saw Cisco smiling at them while holding up his phone. A light on the phone was turned on, indicating that it was recording a video. Caitlin, still drunk, was happily clapping with a big smile on her face.
She saw Cisco, from the corner of her eye, smile, while pointing at something next to her. Following his finger, Barry and (Y/N) noticed their still intertwined hands.
Before her face could turn into a tomato, she quickly withdrew her hand and turned her attention to Caitlin.
"How are you feeling?"
Her friend's smile turned to a sudden frown. "Not so good."
"Okay, time to go home. Barry, could you help me?" She pulled Caitlin up to her feet, but struggled to keep her standing. Barry held one of Caitlin's arm, while she held the other and they slowly walked to the exit. Cisco trailed behind them, offering to carry the girls' bag. Once getting Caitlin into her car, (Y/N) turned back to the others.
"Do you need a ride?" The question was directed to both of them, but she was unable to meet Barry's eyes, and settled for staring at Cisco instead.
"Yup." Noticing the awkward tension in the air, he quickly opened the door to the backseat and got in.
"Umm, what about you Barr? She had no choice now, but to look at him.
"Nah, I'll walk home. It's not far from here." Barry seemed very interested in his shoes.
"Okay then, I'll see you tomorrow…" She opened the driver's door and got in.
"Yeah."
Trying to break the awkwardness, she joked, "Try not to be late this time."
Before it could get anymore awkward, she gave him a quick wave and turned on the ignition, before driving off.

I groaned as I woke to a light in front of my face. Wincing, I put a pillow over my face. “Please don’t tell me it’s been another year” I said with my face still under the pillow, “because, no offense, but I have better things to do” I hear someone snicker and grab the pillow from my face. “Boo,” I whined, putting an arm over my eyes. “You’re not dead—you won’t die, it’s been 9 months, you were pregnant, and you just have birth” I hear Barry sarcastically say. I took my arm away from my face and narrowed my eyes at him. He was sitting in a chair next to me, he looked exhausted. He raised his eyebrows at me and gave a closed, crooked smile with a small shrug. “Shut up,” I laughed, “next thing you’re gonna tell me is I time traveled to the future” “You never know—“ Barry started but I cut him off by slamming the pillow he took from me in his face. “Ha-ha,” I mocked, sitting up, “What really happened?” “Oh! That’s right,” Barry’s face lit up as he reached underneath him and picked up a couple bags that had the words Big Belly Burger splattered over them. He placed them down on the medical tables near me. “Shhhhhh,” I closed my eyes, putting a finger up to my mouth, “my head hurts,” Barry became a lot quieter, but showed no signs of slowing down. “So, because you’re now officially a speedster, you burn through food, water, and energy super quickly—“ “Also clothes, you owe me a new blazer. I looked bomb in the work suit I was wearing, thank you very much,” “—Yes, and clothes, too, but don’t worry Cisco’s got that all figured out for you,” he gave me a shy smile, “You did look pretty good in the outfit though, you literally pull off anything. . . . “—Anyway, because you burn through food, medicine—and basically anything you consume—so quickly, you have to regain that all back, and fast. “Personally, I have consume about 10,000 calories a day, but considering your size and how fast you burn through everything, it’ll be different for you,” Barry explained and I nodded. “That explains why I’m always so hungry,” I said to myself. “And don’t forget—water is your friend!” Barry smiled as he reached down once again and got a pack of water bottles, he placed those on the table, too. “Caitlin suggests you eat at least 17,000 calories a day, at most 25,000” Barry told me as he reached into one of the Big Belly Burger bags and pulled out food, taking some for himself and giving me the rest. “Woah, dude,” I grinned at it, “This is my favorite thing from Big Belly Burger—I can't believe you remembered!” I gave Barry a skeptical look and he just smiled, shrugging and looking down. “I mean, I don’t think I’d ever forget anything from out first date,” he blushed. My smile faltered and I felt myself getting embarrassed as well. “We agreed that wasn’t a date,” I groaned, “not after what happened afterwards,” “I thought it was pretty cute,” Barry shrugged and smiled. I reached up and scratched the back of my neck. I let out a nervous laugh, remembering the night. “I don’t think I could ever forget the day we first met” I grimaced. *** “Ollie!” I ran up to Oliver, who was just now arriving to the crime scene, “I know we just got broken into, but honestly I’m glad it was us because I think I know what they took” I rambled as Oliver, Felicity, and Dig walked through the door. “So, you know how I’m a literal genius?” I continued, “I do a lot of research in my spare time—“ Oliver raised an eyebrow at me. “More specifically, on our family,” I narrowed my eyes and lowered my voice, “most of my research has been on the Queen’s Gambit and its sinking. Did you know that . . . “ My voice wavered on as I spoke. It was obvious none of them were really listening, but I couldn’t care less. “ . . . and what we do with all the technology laying around. We actually have—“ Oliver stopped me by gently grabbing my shoulders and turning me towards him. “(Y/n), you’re my sibling and I love you, but please slow down and start from the beginning will you?” I glared at him, but begrudgingly nodded my head. I grabbed Oliver’s hand and started dragging him to a broken door. “Woah—okay,” Oliver stopped as he crouched down to look at the door. “This door is made of expanded reinforced titanium,” I told them, “Which is crazy strong, yet is on the floor literally bleeding out, but there’s no sign explosives. How does someone break through expanded reinforced titanium without explosives?” I raised an eyebrow at him and he gave me a look. “Maybe a crane?” Felicity suggested. “Or a forklift” said Dig. “Or anything else capable of slamming through a metal door” Oliver responded. I ignored everyone, “Which got me thinking, who’d go through this much trouble and for what?” “So I did some more investigating, which led me to the industrial centrifuge,” I walked over to the base of where the centrifuge should’ve been, dragging along the trio, “An industrial centrifuge is—“ “I know what a centrifuge is,” Oliver glared at me again. “Okay,” I raised my hands up in defense, “Well, there’s three sets of broken bolts where our theif must’ve just ripped it out. And—again—how does someone do that? And why?” “And then,” I continued, walking around the base, “I found these,” I pointed to a set of footprints, “One person did all of this, guys. I mean, no offense, Ollie, but what kind of friends did you drag home with you from that island?” I whispered in a hushed tone to Oliver. Oliver’s face fell as he thought of the possibilities. Felicity and John exchanged a look. “Look, just keep this in the DL, okay?” I told all of them, “I don’t have enough evidence to conduct a real investigation on the one dude theory,” I held my hands out as if I were weighing an object in each hand, moving them up and down. “But, you know, I thought this would be good intel to let the hood in on,” I pointedly looked at Oliver. He just sighed and looked back at the door on the floor. Just then, detective lance walked over. The three eagerly looked at him, presumingly waiting for what everyone else thought of the situation. “I’m guessing there were 3 of them—maybe 4, given how quick they got in and out of here. They were fast” he told them. “Any idea what these guys were so hot to break in here for?” Lance turned to Oliver, “Didn’t happen to leave a spare earthquake machine lying around did you?” Oliver just looked at Lance. “Sorry” Lance looked away from him and onto me. “Queen?” He narrowed his eyes, “You always seem to have a theory of your own on cases. What is it now?” I opened my mouth to speak, “—You think maybe a group of Hulks came here and stole some precious prototypes of yours?” He mocked me. “Ha-ha” I answered sarcastically. “This is what we were able to pull off the, uh, security cameras,” said a guy suddenly behind us. I moved over so I’d have a clear view of what happened, shoving Oliver on my way. He just looked at Felicity and she shrugged back at him. We watched as one man appeared on screen and the camera gave out. I scoffed and gave out a grumbled response. “It’s the only guy we got in video, the rest of the crew must have come in after” the man told us. “Actually it was only one guy,” a voice said behind us. I turned quickly, trying to figure out where it came from. For the first time in forever I wasn’t the crazy detective on a case who had come up with a strange explanation for everything. Even though I was always right, everyone was hesitant to believe my theories. “I—Sorry, I’m late,” said a guy walking up to us. As he stepped into the light, I got a better look at him. It felt as if my breath had been taken away, my heart leaping into my throat. It felt stupid to say, but I couldn’t help myself. The man was lean and tall. Dark brown hair and piercing green eyes. He was dark and mysterious. “Actually, my train was late—well, the second one. The first one I did miss,” he stumbled over himself, “but that was my cab driver’s fault. I’ve got this great traffic app and—,” he let out a breath as he realized he was rambling. “He thought he was right. I’m here now though—so . . . “ He was clumsy and anxious. And he was perfect. I stupidly looked away as we made eye contact. I saw Oliver frown in the corner of my eye. I cleared my throat as detective Lance spoke to him. “Great, who the hell are you?” He asked him. “And do your parents know that you’re here?” Oliver said. I let out a short sigh as I looked at Oliver, nervously playing with my hands. “I’m Barry Allen,” he said surprised, “I’m from the Central City Police Department,” he took out his badge and we all gave it a quick inspection, “I’m with the crime scene investigation unit” Oh, my god—he’s really cute. “We’re working on a case with some similar unexplained elements in Central City,” He explained, “So, when the report of your robbery came in over the wire, my captain,” his voice faltered, “sent me up here” He smiled to cover the fact his voice wavered just a second ago, and it worked. He looked around with the dumb smile and I swallowed before quickly smiling back. He finally noticed me and his smile twitched before growing wider. He blushed and looked away. I stared stupidly down at the floor. I cleared my throat and looked up at the rest of everyone. Felicity was smirking and John was raising his eyebrows at Barry. I noticed Barry and Oliver make eye contact. Barry tried smiling at him, but Ollie only glared back which resulted in Barry’s smile going away. “And you think one guy ripped through this door like it was tin foil?” He looked back and forth between Barry and I. I couldn’t believe we actually had the same theory. “One very strong guy, yeah,” he responded. I looked at Oliver and gave him an ‘I told you so’ look. He just rolled his eyes at me. However, Barry took that as a sign of annoyance and quickly gave his evidence. “Uh—it takes about 1,250 foot pounds of torque to break someone’s neck,” Barry took out a tablet displaying the dead guard’s body. I frowned as I looked at the picture. Why had I not seen the body? Why had no one given me information on the dead guard? “You see the marks on the guard’s neck? The bruising pattern suggests the killer used only one hand,” he looked up at Oliver, “I’m guessing you don’t know how hard it is to break someone’s neck” I was still stuck on the picture. My mind whirling as I conducted more evidence and a case on my theory. “Hm?” Oliver raised his eyebrows, “No, no idea” “Uh, we’re gonna need a list of the entire inventory here to figure out what was stolen,” a voice cut in. “Oh, I know what was stolen,” I answered back. “(Y/n),” Ollie warned me. “I-I think I do, too,” Barry told everyone. Detective Lance’s stare on us became more cautious now. “A centrifuge,” I repeated myself in annoyance. “An industrial centrifuge,” Barry and I spoke at the same time. I looked at him in shock. Either we’re both going crazy or we might actually be right. “Probably the Cord Enterprises 2BX 900,” Barry told everyone as he started pointing it all out, “Maybe the six series. Both have a three column base,” he pointed to where I had previously pointed, “Here, you can see the three sets of broken bolts where the thief just ripped it out of the ground,” Barry mimed the action. “And what exactly is a centrifuge?” Lance asked and Barry tilted his head in defeat. “It separates liquids,” I stepped in, “The centripetal acceleration causes denser substances to separate out along the radial direction,” I explained, my hands flailing. “And lighter objects move to the top,” Barry continued and I looked up at him. “What did you say your name was again?” Felicity asked suddenly. “Barry. Allen,” he looked beyond terrified. “Felicity. Smoak,” Felicity gave him an overprotective look, eyes flickering between me and him. Oliver glared at him, too. Letting him know not to mess with either of us. I stepped on his foot as Barry looked away. ‘What the hell?’ I mouthed and he just looked away. “You can see the cracks heading towards the door,” we all looked over to the footsteps I had pointed out before, too, “Footsteps. One guy” he nodded. The rest of the group exchanged a look and I did a celebration dance in my head. “I was right—suck it” I whispered to all of them. Oliver kneeled down to look at the base further. I saw Barry staring and when he realized I knew he was staring he blushed again and looked away. “A-Anyway, it’s just a theory,” he went on, “One backed by a lot of evidence” “There has to be another explanation,” Lance pressed and I sighed. Always trying to knock me off my feet. “Yeah, I’m sure you’re right,” Barry shrugged in defeat, but I looked at him in desperation. Felicity and Lance walked off. Leaving Oliver to stare at the bolts again. I kneeled down next to him. “So, one of your buddies do this?” I asked, annoyed. Dig got down, too. Oliver grumbled something under his breath and I sighed. “So, who do you think did it?” A voice suddenly asked. I looked up and saw Barry standing over us all. I gave a panicked look to Dig and Oliver. John shrugged and Oliver glared at me. I looked back at Barry and stood up. “Um—I—well—I-I think it may have been an enemy of, uh, the family,” I stuttered and silently cursed myself. Barry’s eyebrows went up, his mouth hanging, “Um, do you think one guy did it, though?” “Oh! Um,” I trailed off, tilting my head. “Well—It’s just that, earlier, when I mentioned the footsteps you just had a look of victory on your face,” Barry smiled. “My foster dad gets it every time he solves a case, ya know? Like he knows he’s gonna put whoever wronged the world in the right place. He says I have a similar look on my face when doing anything that involves science,” he rolled his eyes playfully, “but I don’t think so,” The ends of my mouth twitched up. He noticed his rambling and the tips of his ears started turning pink. He coughed. “—I just noticed that you had the same look,” he shrugged looking down. “You ever consider becoming a detective, Allen?” I smiled. “Oh, I could never,” he says immediately, “I’m more of a lab kind of guy” I nodded solemnly. I thought for a moment, gathering my thoughts. He snorted and I held back a smile. An awkward cough brought me back to the world around me. This one coming from my brother, behind me. I looked back and glared at Oliver and John. Oliver gave me a glare back, eyes flickering behind Barry and I. I rolled my eyes and turned to Barry, starting to walk away speaking, expecting him to follow. Sure enough, he stumbled behind. “Actually, I had a theory only one person did it,” I spoke up, eagerly trying to get away from the guys, “What kind of detective would I be if I didn’t see the footprints,” I laughed awkwardly. “If you already knew it was one person why didn’t you say anything?” I grimaced, “Right, um, I mean, it’s just that . . . “ I scratched the back of my neck, “I didn’t have enough evidence. It’s not really likely one person could do all of this. . . . “Well, there was the bolts and the missing centrifuge, but one person doing it all doesn’t really come to thought. “But we saw the—the um—security footage so,” I lied, “yeah,” I cleared my throat. When I saw we were a good distance from everyone, I stopped walking. I turned quickly to look at Barry, but we bumped into each other. He quickly grabbed my elbows to steady me and my hands came up to his chest. ‘sorry’s stumbled out of both of our mouths.
I examined his face up close. He was even cuter than I thought. I realized how close we were and felt myself become nervous. We looked into each other’s eyes, like we were in a cheesy romance novel.
“You ever consider becoming a CSI?” Barry asked curiously.
I licked my lips, “I don’t think it’s really my style. I like to be out here with all the action,”
I couldn’t maintain eye contact, and looked down, nervously. I cleared my throat and backed up, out of his arms.
“Do you want to get coffee sometime?” Barry blurted out, eyes examining me.
“Uh—“ I was surprised.
“It doesn’t have to be coffee!” Barry blurted again, “we could get,” he stopped as he thought for a moment, “t-tea, or, um, smoothies or something,”
“No—yeah-y-yeah—definitely!” I smiled widely.
“—I mean, we don’t even have to get drinks, we could get lunch, or dinner, or just, um,” Barry rambled again, “we could just discuss the case,” he shrugged, “sometime,”
He seemed to be staring anywhere but me.
“I’m free right now,” The words stumbled out of my mouth before I had a chance to stop them.
Barry looked back to me in surprise. We once again stared at each other for what felt like minutes. In reality, it was probably a few seconds.
“Okay,” he smiled, “um—coffee?”
“Sure,” I laughed softly.
“I have to warn you, I don’t know any good places around here,” Barry brought up.
“Oh,” I thought, “I think I may know somewhere we can go,”
I grabbed his arm and took a step towards the exit, but stopped myself when I realized what I was doing.
“I’m,” I looked at him, “(Y/n), by the way. (Y/n) Que—“
“(Y/n) Queen, I know,” he blurted and I frowned.
“You know?”
“No, I mean—I-I’ve seen you in the news,” he scratched the back of his neck.
The news. The news wasn’t very nice.
“Oh,” I tried to hide my disappointment.
“No!” Barry explained himself, “I mean—yes. I have seen you in the news, your family’s kind of famous and—“ he stopped when I interrupted him.
“It’s okay, I get it. I mean with my brother and the family company—“
“I’ve read your papers online!” Barry blurted out again.
“ . . . My—?” I looked at him, confused.
“It’s just—you used to write these research papers on your blog you had in college and I’ve read some of your work. You had this particular one on the physics behind Star Wars which was crazy because as a student going into forensic science I almost switched my majors because of the paper.
“I mean, after I’d read everything on the blog I stared following your career and I was surprised to see you went into law enforcement, but glad because—like I mentioned earlier—my foster Dad is a detective and to think you two were doing the same thing was crazy. I mean, what are the chances that my foster dad and you are in the same career?"
He spoke like being detectives were award-wining Oscar celebrities.
“Then I realized how big of a deal you are in Starling City, but regardless of your family you still managed to make a name for yourself. I just—“ He stopped himself as he realized how creepy he was starting to sound. “I’m a fan of your work,” he swallowed. I was bewildered, “You’ve read my papers?” I laughed, “Oh my, god, that was so long ago. Now I’m embarrassed,” I wiped my face with my hand. “You’re embarrassed?” Barry raised his eyebrows at me, “I just admitted I stalked you,” “And the Star Wars paper? Really? The blog was a stupid excuse to be nerdy and have fun with my work,” I realized I wasn’t listening to Barry. “Oh, I’m sorry, did you say something?” I blinked at him. “U-Uh, Big Belly Burger then coffee?” His face was full of hope. Jesus Christ, marry me please? “Yes! Right! I’m sorry, I just can’t believe people even read the things I posted on there,” I laughed and we started walking towards the door again. “I mean, how could I not have? Your work not only as a detective but as a scientist is great,” I snorted as we reached the exit. “Please, I don’t come close to—“ “Queen!” I groaned internally as I faced Lance. “Yeah?” “Where do you think you’re going? We’ve got a case to work,” “I’m working it,” I motioned to Barry and I heard him let out a strangled cough. “Yeah, well you’re gonna have to work it here or the precinct. None of that giggly running off stuff,” he mocked me. I scoffed but nodded letting him know I’d stay. “Rain check?” I asked Barry hopefully. “Yeah, definitely,” ***

Hi Barry, I’m Y/N
A/N: Hey I’m back look at that okay bye. Also this is trash but whatever.
Request: No because no one will request anything but if you have a request please send it! I’m running out of things to write.
Pairing: Barry Allen/The flash x reader
Description: Batman’s daughter walks in the batcave while Barry’s running around, which may or may not lead to an accident or two.
Warnings: Swearing???
So I saw the movie a few days ago and there are a few parts I don’t remember so clearly, so if I get anything wrong I’ll fix it as soon as possible. Thanks! (Also this is trash but maybe you’ll like it idk???)
Barry was extremely excited to know that Batman wanted him to be apart of his team to defeat Steppenwolf, or whatever his name was. He could barely contain any of that excitement at all. He knew he should have been listening to what the others’ were saying, but exploring the batcave was way more important at the moment.
“Hey, kid,” Bruce said. “Watch where you’re going. If you break anything, I’m suing your ass.”
“Be nice, he’s just excited. You’re rich, anyways,” Diana said, walking up to Bruce.
“That’s very true.”
Everyone was sitting down (except for Barry, obviously) when you came in.
“Hey, dad,” you said, walking through the door. “I was wondering if-”
It happened so fast it was almost like you couldn’t have felt the impact. Someone ran into you, at an abnormally fast speed.
You tumbled backwards and almost slammed into the wall behind you before someone grabbed your arm and pulled you into them.
“I am so, so sorry. I didn’t see you walk in and I wasn’t paying attention and-”
You blinked and looked up into dark brown eyes. “No, it’s okay. That was my fault.”
“No, that was mine. Are you okay? Did I hurt you at all? Please don’t tell me anything is broken.”
“No, yeah. I’m fine.” You slowly blinked again, feeling a little dizzy.
“Hey, kid. Get your hand off my daughter,” Bruce said, walking over with everyone else.
“What? Oh, yeah. Sorry,” Barry mumbled, letting go of your arm.
Diana cleared her throat. You turned your head to look at her.
“Diana?”
“Hello, Y/N.”
You walked forward and opened you arms, enveloping her in a hug. “It’s so good to see you.”
“It’s lovely to see you as well.”
A wave of dizziness ran over you and you leaned into Diana. “Are you alright?” She asked, putting a hand on your forehead to make sure you weren’t sick.
You nodded, closing your eyes and leaning into Diana more.
Bruce looked at you and then at Barry. “Kid, I swear to God if you gave her a concussion or anything-”
“Bruce,” Diana acknowledged. “It was an accident. Y/N, dear, can you look at me?”
You opened your eyes and looked in Diana’s brown ones. She noticed one pupil was slightly larger than the other, and how you kept blinking very slowly.
“She definitely has a concussion. We need to get her to the hospital.”
“I-I’ll do it,” Barry mumbled, looking at you.
“What? Oh, no. You’re the one that gave her the-”
“Bruce!” Diana scolded. “Be quiet. Barry, that would be wonderful. The nearest hospital is a few blocks away, I think.”
“Diana, I’m not letting the kid-”
“If we wait any longer it could be worse than a concussion, Bruce. This is the fastest way.” Diana looped an arm under your legs and picked you up, walking over to Barry. You were basically passed out at this point. She put her arms out and Barry put one arm on your back and looped the other one under your legs, just like Diana did. “Call us when you get there.”
He nodded and ran off, almost running into the door on the way out.
“Well, that was interesting,” Arthur said, walking away from the group.
-----
Barry found the hospital in about three seconds.
He rushed you in (at a “normal” pace, of course), and had you at the front desk as soon as possible.
“Can I have her name, please?” The lady at the front desk asked.
“Uh, Y/N. I think.” She looked at Barry suspiciously before putting the name into the computer.
“Right. So, what happened?”
“Well, I think she has a concussion. I don’t really know what happened, but she was kind of passed out and then it seemed-” Barry lied and rambled on and on and on.
“Okay, slow down. You said she may have a concussion?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, that’s all. Please take her back there,” she pointed to a door. “Room 137. The doctors will take care of her from there.”
“Okay, thank you.” He rushed to the back room and gave you to one of the doctors. Right after, they pushed him out of the room. He pulled out his phone and called Diana.
“Hello?” She answered, not knowing the number.
“Hey Diana, it’s Barry. I’m in the hospital.”
“Oh, that’s good. Is Y/N okay?” She asked.
“I don’t really know yet. I think she’ll be okay, I’m not allowed in the room so I can’t tell.”
“Okay, well, make sure-” The connection started acting weird until Barry heard another voice.
“Kid, I swear if this ever happens again I’m going to-
“BRUCE!” Barry hung up the phone and sat down in a chair, looking up at the ceiling. He felt so bad for running into you, and he knew it was his fault. He didn’t even know you, he only knew you were Bruce’s daughter. He probably ruined all chances at talking to you, too. He thought you were really pretty, and he knew you were probably the only pretty girl he might ever get to talk to.
He was so lost in thought he didn’t hear the nurse open the door. “Mr. Allen, she’s awake if you’d like to see her.” He nodded and stood up, walking into the room.
You were sitting up on the hospital bed, holding an ice pack to your head. You had a TV remote in your hand and you were looking through all the channels. When Barry walked in, you looked over at him and smiled.
“Hi.”
“Hey,” he said, shifting on his feet awkwardly.
“You know, there’s no reason to be nervous. I don’t bite.” You turned your attention back to the TV, scrolling through the channels again. Barry watched the TV go through channels until it finally stopped at one. Supernatural. You threw the remote to the end of the bed and crossed your legs.
Barry slowly walked over to you and sat on the chair next to your bed. He looked at you while your eyes were focused on the TV. You really were pretty. He didn’t get to get a good look at you until now.
You looked over at him and smiled. “So, you’re the reason I’m here from what I’m guessing.”
“Yeah...sorry about that.”
You giggled and looked back at the TV. “It’s nothing really. I’m a Wayne, I can handle it. Plus, you got me out of school for a week or two.” You looked back a him and leaned back on the bed. “You know, we never go to properly introduce ourselves. I’m Y/N.” You swung your feet across the bed and stuck your hand out.
“Hi Barry, I’m Y/N,” he said. “Wait, no, that’s not right.”
You giggled and stood up. “Nice to meet you, Barry. Thank you, too, for bringing me here and everything.”
“I mean, it wasn’t really anything but, no problem.” He stood up next to you.
You leaned over and kissed his cheek, grabbing his hand. “Come on. We have to get home before my dad kills me. Or maybe you. I don’t really know at this point.”
Barry smiled to himself, picking you up and running out the door. Maybe he’ll have a chance with you after all.
-----
Yeah that was trash.

"Can I help you?"
"Yes, please! Where would I be able to find Mr. Allen?"
"Upstairs, take a left."
"Oh, great! Thank you very much!"
(Y/N) hurried up the nearby staircase in search of the man just mentioned.
"Look Joe, I wasn't expecting Iris to find someone while I was in a coma for 9 months. And now, I can't do anything, or I'd be ruining her happiness. And I don't want to be that guy." Nearing the slightly opened door labeled, "Forensic Analyst: Barry Allen" she heard two distinct male voices coming from inside.
"All I'm saying is that if you don't tell her soon, you might just lose your chance forever." The other voice warned, sympathetically.
"I know, I know. I just don't think this is the right time, when they're planning to move in together." The first voice reasoned.
Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) knocked on the door three times, to alert them of her presence. "Hello? I hope I'm not interrupting anything." She spoke peeking her head into the doorway.
Inside, she saw two men; one sitting down in a chair, with his face buried in his hands, and the other leaning against the table. They both turned to stare at the new voice in the room.
"Can I help you miss?" The older of the two asked. The other just stared blankly at the her.
"Actually, yes! I'm looking for Mr. Allen? I was supposed to meet him today at 11, but if I'm too early, I can always come back later. I just didn't want to be late for my first day at my new job and I really wanted to make a good impression. And I really didn't mean to intrude on your conversation, I am really sorry if I did…" (Y/N) could not stop her rambling, her anxiety and nervousness taking control. "I can just wait outside in the hallway if y’all aren’t done with your-"
"Woah, calm down and take a deep breath," the older man recommended, in amusement. She heaved a big breath in and out, before focusing back on the current situation.
"Sorry about that," she apologized. "I didn't mean to freak out like that, I'm just really nervous and really excited to start my new position here." She was practically bouncing in her spot. Anxiety and excitement was not a good combination, she noted.
"Don't worry about it." With a chuckle, the older man step forward and held out a hand. "I'm Joe West. I work as a detective here at the CCPD; my office is downstairs."
"Very nice to meet you, sir! I'm (Y/F/N) (Y/L/N). I just moved here from Starling City." She replied, shaking his hand.
"Starling, really?" Joe asked, the surprise evident on his face.
"Yeah, it's not such a bad city if you get past the bad guys and all that," she shrugged, making it seem like no big deal. "I'm mean sure it's not really safe to walk around at night, and the crime rate is really high. And everyone walks around with pepper spray. Or a taser if you really want to splurge.” Both the men’s eyes widened. “Oh, but it's a lot better now because of the Arrow and the other crime-fighting vigilantes/heroes.” She assured them.
"Well, it was nice meeting you Ms. (Y/L/N)."
"Oh please sir, call me (Y/N), or anything else. Ms. (Y/L/N) makes me sound so old."
"Then, in that case, call me Joe and you got a deal." The two nodded in agreement and Joe continued, "If you need anything you can find me downstairs." Nodding to the younger man, Joe left the room closing the door behind him.
The remaining two stared at the door, lost in their own world and thoughts. The man chose to break the silence first.
"I'm Barry, by the way. Nice to meet you (Y/N)."
She shook his hand eagerly. "Oh, Mr. Allen! I'm (Y/N) (Y/L/N)! But you already knew that, of course. I'm so sorry to intrude into your room like this, I just was really excited to meet you. And, I normally don't ramble this much, or maybe I do, but I'll try to control it the best I can if it bothers you too much-"
"Breathe (Y/N). And don’t worry about it. I tend to ramble a lot too.” He smiled warmly. "And call me Barry. Mr. Allen makes me feel old too, and we seem like we're the same age."
"If you say so Mr. Al-,” Barry rose his brow. “I mean Barry," she corrected herself. "Well, it’s so nice to meet you! I know that you must be really busy, so let me know what you want me to do and I'll be out of your way!"
"Actually, it's been a slow day today since we don’t have any cases in investigation at the moment. How 'bout I give you a tour of the station instead?" he suggested, "I mean, if you haven’t seen all of it yet."
(Y/N)’s eyes lit up at the suggestion, "That would be great! By the way, do you know a good coffee shop near here? I haven't been able to go searching for one with all the moving and chaos."
Barry shot her a smile, while gathering his things. "You know, I was just about to head out, myself, for a cup. I know just the place,"
—
(Jitters)
"Could I get an Americano in the biggest size you have?" (Y/N) could see Barry's amused face from her peripheral, "What? I haven't had coffee in, literally, three days."
Barry raised his arms in surrender, "I didn't say anything."
"Yeah, but you thought it."
Barry laughed while she shifted through her purse for her wallet.
"I got this." He assured her, when he saw her take out her card.
"No, I'll buy it, you were the one to show me around."
"Nope. I already got it." He said, handing over his card to the worker.
She sighed in defeat. "Fine, you win this round. But expect an extra large cup of hazelnut mocha on your desk on Monday." (Y/N) forewarned him.
Both smiling, they moved to a nearby table waiting for their order. And before they knew it, their coffees were placed in front of them by a petite woman with a big smile on her face.
"Barry, who's this?"
"Iris! Umm, this is (Y/N), my new forensic analyst partner. (Y/N), this is Iris, my best friend and Joe’s daughter." Barry introduced the two. (Y/N) could see the Barry’s face light up at the woman in front of her.
"Nice to meet you (Y/N)! Are you new to the city? I haven't seen you around before, and I never forget a face."
"I just moved here from Starling a few days ago, actually. The boss has been showing me around the city before we came here." She threw Barry a smile.
"By the way, I'm sorry if I'm being nosy, but are you a model? You look really pretty, which makes me not want to stand next to you." She asked with a sincere look on her face.
"Me? Ha ha, I'm really flattered but sadly no, I'm not. I actually work at the Central City Times and am a part-timer here when free." Iris turned to Barry with a grin. "I like her!"
"Since your new to the city, do you want to hang out sometime, just us girls? I love Barry and all, but I am in dire need of a close girlfriend to talk with. I’ll show you around the best places.”
"Of course! You literally read my mind!" (Y/N) nodded enthusiastically. "I have a feeling this is the start of a wonderful friendship!"
During their conversation, she learned about Barry’s relationship with the West family and his recent wake from his 9-month coma. She had only heard of the effects of the particle accelerator explosion from the paper, since no one in Starling was directly affected. And Iris shared about her relationship with Eddie and more about her job at the paper. Eventually, she had to go back to work and gave (Y/N) a friendly hug before returning behind the counter.
"Let me guess. You like her and she doesn't know. And you can’t tell her because she’s already in love with this Eddie guy, and you don't want to ruin your friendship?" (Y/N)’s question snapped Barry out of his lingering stare at Iris working, and he looked at her, embarrassed.
"Is it that obvious?"
"Eh, kind of. I’m good at noticing things. And I kind of heard the last part of your conversation with Joe earlier when I was about to knock on your door."
He sighed. “I've tried telling her multiple times but she always finds a way to change the conversation into one about being like brother and sister and how I should be comfortable with telling her about girls and my nonexistent love life." She could see the sadness in his eyes as he let out another sigh.
(Y/N) leaned over and patted his back in sympathy. "Well, I say it's never too late until she says "I do", so I think you still have time. But man, you were sibling-zoned by her. That's even worse than the friend-zone."
"Well, I think you're wrong." He shook his head in disagreement. "It is too late. I've tried every way to tell her, dropping hints and what not, but she doesn't even have a clue. And even if she did, she hasn't said anything about it. She doesn’t think of me anymore than a brother."
"Well, I wish I could help you, friend. But unfortunately, I’m not Cupid." She looked at him with pity in her eyes.
Suddenly, Barry turned to her, his eyes widening by the second. Seeing his reaction she thought of the worst. "Is it too soon? Should I have said acquaintance instead of friend? Sorry if I got a little ahead of myself."
Barry interrupted her with enthusiasm, "No, that's not it. Of course we're friends. I was reacting to the part about you wanting to help me."
"It's just a figure of speech, I don't really think I should get into the middle of your love life situ-"
"Please?" Barry pleaded. "You're a girl."
"Yes, Barry, I think we've already established that I am a girl. I'm kinda hurt you thought otherwise. I mean, sure I'm not as pretty as Iris, but I don't think I’m that unattractive to be mistaken for a guy." She continued her stream of consciousness, rambling on. "I mean, Iris is a pretty high standard to meet, but not everyone is pretty like her, Barry. And I'm glad you figured out my gender now before later in the future, or we could've had a pretty awkward situation. I thought having longer hair would be an good indicator of my-"
"(Y/N), stop. You really do really ramble a lot." He grinned. "What I meant was, that you have a mind of a girl, and so you could help me confess to Iris, or at least help her to figure out my feelings for her." He explained, trying to prevent her from rambling again.
"Oh, ha ha ha. I knew that."
"…"
"Okay I didn't, but fine. I'll help you with your unrequited love life since we are friends and because I've been in your shoes. But whatever happens, I refuse to take the blame for it and you better not be mad at me if things don't turn out the way you want."
"Of course." Barry smiled with relief, succeeding in persuading her to help him.
"Well, it was nice talking to you, but I should go home and finish unpacking my stuff. I'll see you Monday, with an extra large cup of hazelnut mocha in hand," she said, getting up from her seat.
"Yeah, sure. See you around partner."
"Bye, partner-in-crime. Ha, get it? Because we help solve crimes. Which is the opposite of what it normally means.”
Barry just shook his head in amusement, as she walked away.
"(Y/N)." Barry called out as she reached for the door.
Turning back, she raised her brow at her new friend..
"By the way, you're pretty too. And whoever that guy was, was an idiot for not liking you back.”
—
A/N: I ramble a lot too. So I really connect with (Y/N) lol. Also, the timeline for this story isn’t going to follow the series exactly. Thanks for reading!

Partners in Crime #2
“I’m on my way, don’t worry.” (Y/N) assured, looking down the road. “No, I’m sure I’m not lost. I just wanted to stop by to grab some coffee for us. I found out about a great place from a friend.”
“I thought I was the only friend you had in Central City?” The voice on the other line asked in a hurt tone. She could imagine the pout forming on her friend’s face.
“I thought I was friends with Cisco and Dr. Wells too?”
“Well…you know what I mean. And, you told me that you couldn’t hang out yesterday because you had work? If you didn’t want to see me you could have said so.”
“Oh my gosh, Caitlin, stop. I did have work, but we had no current cases, so my partner offered to show me around town. And this all happened after you called me yesterday.” She tried reasoning with her friend, to stop her from wallowing in sadness.
“…”
“Caitlin, are you still there?” she asked, breaking the silence.
“Fine, I forgive you.” her friend finally responded.
“Oh, thank you soooo much.” (Y/N) replied sarcastically, but with endearment. “Well, I’m gonna hang up now ‘cause I’m in the parking lot. I’ll see you in a bit.”
“Okay, see you soon!” Caitlin exclaimed gleefully.
(Y/N) noted the very empty parking lot. Well, better parking spots for her, she shrugged. As she walked towards the building, it brought up nostalgic memories of her friends, when she visited them a year ago.
“Caitlin? Anyone there?” She called out into the pitch black lab. “I’m pretty sure I’m in the right room.”
She retraced her steps in her head, thinking if she made wrong turn in the hallway, when suddenly, the lights turned on, blinding her.
“SURPRISE!!”
As (Y/N) regained her vision, she saw her friends standing in the middle of the room with bright smiles.
“You guys! You almost gave me a heart attack, and momentarily blindness.” She said with a grin on her face.
“Well, then it was worth it.” Cisco high-fived Caitlin, who was standing next to him and Dr. Wells.
Playfully glaring at her friends, she walked over to grab them in a deathly hug.
“I’m so glad you’re here!” Caitlin exclaimed when breaking apart the group hug. “And this time, you’re staying longer than before!”
Caitlin Snow, or Dr. Caitlin Snow, was (Y/N)’s friend from university. They had met when Caitlin bumped into her inside the campus coffee shop, and when they discovered they were taking the exact same upper level classes, it became the start of a beautiful friendship.
(Y/N) was also the reason Caitlin and Ronnie met too. When Ronnie was in need of tutor for Quantum Physics and Equilibrium, she overheard his conversation and gave him Caitlin’s number, who had a crush on him since the day she saw him in the Science Library. (Y/N) made them promise that she would be the godmother of their future children the second after Ronnie’s proposal. After she found out what happened to Ronnie during the particle accelerator incident, she grabbed the next train to Central City to help her friend through the rough time. It was hard already that she just lost one of her best friends, with Ronnie’s death, so she couldn’t even imagine what it felt like for Caitlin, to lose her best friend and her fiancee.
“Now we can have Sherlock marathons!” Cisco cheered.
Cisco Ramon, was (Y/N)’s spirit animal. They agreed they were each other’s soulmate, platonically of course. Their first meeting was when she visited Caitlin after the particle accelerator explosion. They clicked right away, and kept in touch after she returned back to Starling. And of course, he would always butt into her and Caitlin’s facetime whenever he could.
“Of course! You better have been training for it.”
“Duh. Dude, marathons are the reason for my existence. I’ve been training for 2 years for this.” Cisco happily chomped on his 45th Twizzler of the day, grinning in between chews.
“Ms. (Y/L/N), it’s good to have you back.” Dr. Wells greeted her.
(Y/N) also met Dr. Wells for the first time, when she came to Central City nine months ago. He was cold at first, but eventually warmed up to her; noticeably, after he had a bite of her famous brownies. Her mother always said, “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”.
“Thanks Dr. Wells! It’s really nice to see everyone again!”
“Have you thought about my offer from last time? It still stands. Although, I understand if you choose not to take it, based on our lab’s reputation now.” Dr. Wells’ smile faltered, being reminded of the events a few months past.
When Dr. Wells met her, he was intrigued to find out that, instead of becoming a scientist or working in a lab discovering the next element, she was working as a forensic scientist in Starling City. She was offered a job at STAR Labs when she came to console Caitlin, but turned it down because she didn’t want to leave Starling City at that time. But now that she moved, the situation was different.
“Really?” (Y/N) lit up. “I completely forgot about it, with all the moving and chaos.”
“Well, STAR Labs would be lucky to have a scientist with your expertise join us.”
“Dr. Wells, there’s really no need to persuade me. I would take the offer in a heartbeat. But…” she trailed off, a frown forming on her face after remembering her other job.
“I moved here to work at the CCPD, and so I wouldn’t be able to work full time here.”
“Of course, forensics is your passion. But, not to worry. We’ve been in a partnership with the CCPD, ever since the appearance of the metahumans in the city.” Dr. Wells explained. “I’m sure we could work something out with them.”
“Are you serious? Thank you! Thank you so much!” She shook Dr. Wells’ hand rapidly with excitement. Caitlin and Cisco grinned at the news, excited to hear that their friend was joining their small team.
“Well, we have one more member of our team who has to approve of you, but I’m sure he will.” Dr. Wells chuckled at her persistent hand-shaking.
“Who?”
She didn’t notice anyone else in the room with them when the lights had turned on.
“He’s not here right now. He, uh, works part-time here at the labs actually.” Cisco fumbled over his words nervously.
“So, what’s the plan for today guys?” A voice sounded from behind her, making her slightly jump.
Turning around, (Y/N) saw Barry saunter into the room with his hair all over the place, like he just walked through a windstorm. She was surprised to see him in STAR Labs. It seemed he was too, by the look of his widening eyes and his frozen state.
“Uhhh…” He paused, failing to come up with any words. “Y-(Y/N)! Wh-wh-why, I mean, w-what are you doing here?” He scratched his neck nervously, looking at the others for an explanation.
“Barry! What are you doing here already?”
“We thought you were coming later…”
Cisco and Caitlin were in a state of panic as well, while Dr. Wells pinched his nose in frustration. Barry continued looking antsy, looking anywhere in the lab except for at her.
“What’s going on here guys? Is Barry the other person I’m supposed to meet?” Her friends continued to panic and everyone continued to look anywhere but at her, trying to avoid answering her question.
“Barry is actually…” Caitlin finally spoke, looking at the others in the room for help with her sentence.
“He’s here for CCPD!” Cisco yelled out. Confused, Barry gave a ‘what’ look to Cisco, wanting further explanation.
Dr Wells chose to intervene at this moment. “Yes, Mr. Allen is here to go over the recent meta human case we just closed. Isn’t that right Mr. Allen?”
“Y-yes! That is exactly why I’m here. To talk about the case…” Barry echoed Dr. Well’s words, seeming unconfident with his words.
“Really? I thought today was your day off Barry?” (Y/N) wasn’t convinced that it was the real reason he was here.
“It is!” Cisco interrupted. “But you know Barry. He’s a workaholic. Those off days still can’t stop him from working, right Barry?”
“Yeah!” Barry replied a little too enthusiastically. Caitlin buried her face in her hands, shaking her head.
Something seemed off to (Y/N), but she decided to drop it at the expense of not wanting to hear anymore lame excuses. “Alright then, I’m just gonna head out now with Caitlin. I’ll see you at work tomorrow, Barry.”
And before the boys could make a bigger mess than they already did, Caitlin push her friend out of the room, silently glaring at the boys from behind.

Partners in Crime #4
"Have yourself, a merry little Christmas.."
Barry could hear the iconic Christmas song coming from inside the forensic lab, as he reached for the door. Walking inside he could see strings of fairy lights adorning the lab walls, and a section of the wall; where green Christmas lights were put up in the shape of a Christmas tree. There was rustling in the far back corner, behind the bookcase of chemicals.
"This would have been so much easier if he actually cleaned the lab like he said he would."
"Who are you talking to (Y/N)?" Barry chuckled, seeing her struggling to try putting up a box on the highest shelf.
"Aaahhhh!" She jumped at his voice, letting the box go. Barry grabbed it before it could hit the floor, and shatter whatever was in it. "Didn't you learn in school not to sneak up on people, while they're trying to put things on high shelves?" she questioned in annoyance.
"I don't think they teach you that in school."
He tried not to laugh at her attempt to put on a menacing face. She glared at him, before breaking into laughter as well.
"Well consider yourself taught then. Now go, and spread the knowledge my young cricket." He chuckled at her response, while putting up the box on the top shelf, with little effort.
"What are you up to lady?"
"Well, since you're a liar, I took it upon myself to clean your lab."
"Hey, it's our lab now."
"Oh, sorry. I meant YOUR MESS," she enunciated the last two words, poking his chest for emphasis.
Barry took a moment to look around the room to find it a lot cleaner than he had ever seen, since moving into the office. The scattered pile of papers that had been on the floor for four months, were now filed in their respective folders and placed neatly on his desk. The multiple dirty beakers that were left in the sink were now on the drying rack, spotless. The empty boxes of donuts were thrown away in the trash, and the table that previously housed said donuts, was cleaned and free of any debris. He could go on forever playing the game, 'Spot the Difference'.
"I'm sorry..." He rubbed his neck, embarrassed.
"Yes Barry, I know you're sorry. I think the whole police station calls you "Sorry" instead of "Barry" now," she teased. "Anyways, it's not a big deal. The mess didn't bother me too much."
He raised his eyebrows at her lie.
"Okay fine, it was bothering me a little. But cleaning is very therapeutic for me, so it really wasn't a big deal."
"Still, it was my mess. You should have let me clean it."
(Y/N) threw him an amused look. "You and I both know you would have never cleaned. And besides, I wanted to decorate the place with a little Christmas cheer, so I volunteered to clean it."
"Let me make it up to you, though. I feel bad for making you clean my mess." He knew that he wouldn't have cleaned it either way, and was thankful she ended up cleaning his mess.
"I told you, don't worry about it." (Y/N) tried assuring him, but he continued pleading.
"Please!" he begged her.
"Fine! I have one way you can make it up to me."
"Yes!" He felt victorious, winning the "argument". "What is it?"
"Well, a little birdie told me that you have the voice of an angel." She enjoyed watching his face turn red from embarrassment.
"W-what? Who told you that?" His voice became high and he could feel the burning of his cheeks.
"Caitlin and Iris." she was trying to refrain from laughing, not wanting to upset him. She didn't think his face could become any more red, but was proven wrong. He reminded her of one of the round shiny red ornaments. "I want you sing for me."
(Y/N)'s face brightened at a new idea that popped in her head. "Actually, better yet, I want you to go caroling in your neighborhood for me. Why should I be the only one to enjoy your beautiful voice?"
"No, absolutely not."
"Wow." She feigned a disappointed face, using her dramatic acting skills she learned from years of watching Korean dramas and Spanish soap operas. "I thought Barry Allen was a man of his word. I guess not."
"I am-"
"Nope, I don't want to hear it. I have lost my faith in men. What's the point, when they are all going to lie to you? Barry Allen, you are to blame if I end up shunning men for life and become a nun."
Barry sighed, knowing that her dramatic acting would not stop until he gave in.
"Fine." he muttered.
"Uh, what's that? I can't hear you. Did you just say another lie?" she teased, cupping her hand to her ear.
"Fine." he muttered, more loudly this time.
(Y/N) broke into her widest smile at the response. She danced a little victory dance, while making a mental note of the songs she was going to make him sing.
"What's got you jumping up and down?" Joe walking into the room, watching (Y/N) with amusement.
"Joe! You came in just the right time! Barry, here, has agreed to go Christmas caroling around the whole neighborhood!" She couldn't help but laugh, picturing Barry caroling by himself.
"Really?" Joe was surprised, shocked even, at the news. "You know I tried to get this kid to sing whenever we went to the karaoke bar? He threatened to quit his job."
Barry buried his face in his hands, attempting to block them out.
"Never underestimate a woman and her power of persuasion."
When their laughing died down, Barry took the opportunity to change the subject.
"Joe, did you need something?" He said a little grumpily.
"Actually, I just came up here to ask (Y/N) if she wanted to join us for our Christmas get-together."
(Y/N)'s eyes lit up, like the Christmas lights in the room.
"Really? I would love to!" Her expression turned worrisome for a moment. "Actually, I was planning to spend Christmas with Caitlin and Cisco. And Dr. Wells, whether he likes it or not."
"Barry was planning to invite them anyway. The more the merrier," the detective offered.
"That's settled then! I'll bring some of my brownies." she started planning in her head.
"That's not necessary, you don't need to bring anything-"
Barry interrupted Joe's sentence. "Joe, let her bring her brownies. Caitlin told me stories about them; they're the best you'll ever taste. Even Dr. Wells agreed." He was a little curious how good they were to have won over Dr. Wells.
(Y/N) patted her friend on the back. "You flatter me, my good man."
"Well, if you don't mind (Y/N)."
"Consider it done! It's really not a problem making them!" (Y/N) beamed at Joe, remembering to thank him for the invitation. "Thank you for inviting me!"
"Well, then I will see you both tomorrow night then!" Joe waved at the two, then left to take care of other matters.
"Iris is going to be there." Barry brought up, watching the detective leave.
"Cool?" (Y/N) responded, unsure why he was telling her this piece of information.
"You promised to help me with Iris?" Barry jogged her memory to a before, when she promised him to help with his love life.
"Right, listen Barry-"
"Oh no you don't. If I have to keep my promises, you have to keep yours."
"But-"
"If you back out, I won't have to carol around the neighborhood. You know what? Don't help me. Then I don't have to carol anymore." Barry grinned at the dilemma (Y/N) faced.
"Ugh, fine. I'll help you, she begrudgingly agreed. "But like I said, whatever happens, you better not blame me, mister."
"Sure, whatever." he agreed.
"Oh, and Barry?"
"What?" His mind was now occupied on how to rope her into going caroling with him.
"I'll make sure to make buy some figgy pudding for you." she teased.

Partners in Crime #3
After spending some needed girl time, the pair headed back to STAR Labs.
(Y/N) could hear Caitlin, in the passenger seat, talking on the phone in hushed whispers. She didn't think much of it, not wanting to be nosy. The whispering conversation continued, when the car pulled into the lab parking lot. She waited patiently, turning off the ignition, for her friend to finish the phone conversation.
Caitlin's face lit up all of a sudden. "Alright, I'll bring her in then." Hanging up, she turned to her friend with a big smile.
"What are you so happy about? You're starting to freak me out." (Y/N) leaned against the door, distancing herself from her creepily smiling friend.
"Well, Cisco just told me that our fifth team member is present in the lab, and to bring you in to meet him!"
"Why were you being so secretive on the phone, then?" she asked.
"You'll see when we get there!"
Caitlin managed to get out of the car in record time, flinging open the driver's door, grabbing (Y/N)'s hand, and dragging her into the lab.
"Cait, Caitlin, c-can we slow down a bit?" (Y/N) wheezed, out of breath. But she couldn't help but smile, seeing how giddy Caitlin was. She hadn't seen her friend this happy, since Ronnie died.
"There you guys are! What took you so long?" The resident tech-genius whined. "Was there a shoe sale on the way here that you had to stop by?" He was still munching a Twizzler when they entered the room.
"Hey! There's nothing wrong with wanting to drive safe. Slow and steady wins the race, or in this case, stay alive." (Y/N) thought of herself to have superb driving skills, especially better than Cisco, who thought the speed limit sign was more of a suggestion for drivers, and Caitlin, who drove extremely slow in case she accidentally hit a butterfly.
"And where is this important person I need to meet?" Frankly, she was a little annoyed at the mystery of the fifth person. It had been bugging her all day, and having impatience as a personality trait was not helping the situation. Who was this secretive person who she had practically had to set an appointment to meet?
"Well, the need to wait is no more. Here he is!" Cisco stepped to his right, wiggling his fingers at the ground behind him.. "TA-DA!"
"A dog?! We have a team mascot? Oh my goodness, he is so adorable!" She half-whispered, half-screamed because the little puppy was sleeping, adorably, on the floor. (Y/N) was literally jumping up and down, unable to contain her excitement on the news of the unmasked fifth member.
So worth the wait.
"Dang it, I thought you would be mad, or at least a little annoyed." Cisco was disappointed at her reaction, thinking she would be mad that the mysterious fifth person wasn't even a person. "I completely forgot that you loved dogs."
Caitlin rolled her eyes at his attempt to annoy (Y/N) and turned her attention to trying to calm down her best friend. "(Y/N). (Y/N). (Y/N)!!" Her attempts failed, however, as her friend now kneeled on the floor, cooing at the sleeping puppy. "(Y/N), can you listen to me for five seconds, please?"
(Y/N) stopped her fawning, and stared at her friend, who was cutting into her time of cooing at the puppy.
"Yes?"
"Cisco was just kidding. We actually have someone, a real person, we want you to meet, before you lose your mind again over the puppy." Caitlin gestured her hand over to the area behind (Y/N), where a figure dressed in, what appeared to be, scarlet red spandex stood.
"That cannot be comfortable," she commented, under her breath.
She focused her attention on his face, which she couldn't see very clearly. Standing up, she brushed off her knees and walked over to the red figure with her hand extended out.
"Hello sir! I'm (Y/N)! Pleasure to meet you!"
Even as she got closer, she couldn't make out his face very well. It seemed as though it was vibrating or something. She rubbed her eyes, thinking her vision was messing with her.
The red figure took her hand, and shook it, but didn't do anything else. He just continued to look at her.
"Umm, this would be the part where you tell me your name?" Immediately, the handshaking stopped.
"Wait, (Y/N). You don't know who this?" Caitlin voiced from behind.
"Of course I know who this is. You're 'The Flash'! But I meant, what's your real name? You must have a real name right? Or am I supposed to guess? Is it Clark? Bruce? Bart? Wilson? Wait no, you don't really give off the vibe of a Wilson…" She continued rattling off names off, already lost in her own world.
Caitlin sighed, not liking to have to raise her voice. "(Y/N). (Y/N). (Y/N)!!"
"Bernie? Stewar-" She looked at her friends' faces. They didn't seem as excited as she was.
"What?"
"We can't really tell you his identity…"
"Yeah, Dr. Wells told us that we shouldn't, or can't, tell you for your safety."
She gave her friends an 'are you kidding me' look.
"Well, WE aren't allowed to tell you, but if you found out for yourself, we couldn't stop you," the voice behind the vibrating face reasoned. (Y/N) turned back to the source of the voice, the man in the spandex suit. She gave him the same look she gave her friends.
"For all I know, you could be the guy selling hot dogs on the street. How would I even find out? Actually, the better question is, why should I even try?"
"The answer is closer than you think," the superhero hinted.
"At least give me a better hint." She pleaded the Flash and her friends, with the best puppy dog eyes she could muster. But to her friends, it just looked like she was trying to imitate bug eyes, so it didn't help her cause.
"So until I find out who he really is, he has to walk around in that costume whenever I'm here?"
"Yup. And it's not a costume, it's a superhero suit. There's a difference," Cisco insisted.
"Well, I do love a man in uniform." she said jokingly. "I think I'll take my time on this case."
"It's true, she does." Caitlin laughed at her friend's antics.
The Flash, on the other hand, seemed flustered at her words, making him stutter. "I-uh-um. Well, nice meeting you Ms-"
"Call me (Y/N)."
"Right. Um, well, I'll be leaving now. Let me know if anything happens or if you need me."
With an awkward wave, the Flash sped out of the room, making any loose papers fly about in the air.
"You know, you guys should really buy some paperweights." (Y/N) suggested to her friends. "Where's he going by the way?"
"Probably off to another rendezvous with his crush." Cisco informed, with raising his eyebrows up and down, in a suggestive manner.
"Huh, interesting. I wonder who she is?"
"Cisco, don't you dare." Seeing him about to answer her question, Caitlin hurried to interrupt him.
"Any-who, back to the real important matter at hand." (Y/N) gestured to the puppy on the floor. "Who's puppy is she?" The puppy of the matter was still sleeping, not even bothered by the previous events in the room.
"It's yours actually."
"WHAT?!"
With that yell, the puppy woke up from it's nap and gave out a yawn, before running over to (Y/N) and pouncing near her feet. He took a second to sniff the new human, before reverting back to jumping up and down.
"What do you mean?" (Y/N) was on the verge of tears from the happiness, and sadness that this whole thing might be a dream. She pinched herself to check. "Ow.. Yup, definitely not a dream."
"We got you a puppy as a welcome gift! I know how much you've wanted one but couldn't when you were in Starling." Caitlin exclaimed.
Her previous land lord didn't allow her to keep dogs in her apartment because of his allergies, so she had to hold off on her dream of becoming a dog lady (similar idea to 'cat lady', but instead with dogs). Well, she wasn't serious on the dog lady thing, but was devastated upon finding out that she wouldn't be able to get a dog. But now, with her changed living spaces, she could.
"You guys, you are the best friends that anyone could ever have." Caitlin's eyes got teary at her words, and Cisco was already a sobbing mess. "What's his name?"
Wiping away her tears, Caitlin responded. "We were waiting for you to name him, since he's yours."
Laughing, (Y/N) looked at the dog closely, through her watering eyes. "Hmm. I think I'm going to call you Chewy. Short for Chewbaca the Third."
The dog barked at his name. "Good! I'm glad you like the name! You're gonna be our new mascot!" Smiling , she picked him up in her arms gently.
"Well, if he's our new mascot, you better be ready to bring him in to the lab everyday. He's as much part of the team as anyone of us." Cisco said.
"Of course! And I hereby decree, Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow, the godfather and godmother of my child Chewy. If anything were to happen to me, I entrust him in your care." (Y/N) announced dramatically, sniffling through her stuffed nose.
"And the moment's over." Caitlin sighed again at her overly dramatic best friend.
(A/N) I really want a dog. I really want a dog. I really want a dog. I think if I say this enough times, maybe one will appear.

Confessions (and Batman)
A/N: I’m back and ready with another Barry Allen fanfiction! Yay!
Request: “Your writing is wonderful!! Would you mind writing a shy!reader x Barry where they both like each other but neither one knows? If not that’s okay too! Thanks!!” I’m so happy you like my writing! I would be more than happy to write this! If you have a request, please send it! I would be more than happy to write it for you!
Pairing: Barry Allen/The flash x shy!reader
Description: Barry just wants to tell Y/N how he feels. Y/N just wants to tell Barry how she feels. They’re both just a little too awkward to confess anything, though.
Warnings: swearing??? That should be it
This is also probably trash but maybe you’ll like it??? idk
Barry didn’t expect Bruce Wayne to be sitting on a chair in his computer lab when he walked into the warehouse, and definitely didn’t expect Bruce Wayne to ask him to become apart of his team to defeat Steppenwolf.
“Okay, but there’s nothing special about me,” Barry said, walking over to one of his computer’s.
“Then what’s this costume for?” Bruce asked, standing up and walking over to the flash suit.
“I do competitive ice dancing,” Barry lied, pulling up a tab on his computer.
“Right, right.”
Just then, the warehouse door opened and you, his best friend and crush-not-crush, walked in.
Barry turned around and looked at you, smiling. You smiled back and both of you blushed. Bruce noticed this and looked from you to Barry. He then quickly pulled out a Batarang and threw it in your direction.
Barry's eyes went wide. He knew what Bruce was doing, trying to get him to show his power’s. Everything was suddenly in slow motion. He ran over to you and grabbed your wrist with his left hand, pulling you out of the way. He grabbed the Batarang with his right hand and caught it between his fingers.
Bruce smirked and sat back down in the chair. “Not special, huh?”
“You know, this is lovely and all, but I would appriciate if you didn’t throw Batarangs at my girlf- best friend. Thanks.”
You blushed behind Barry and looked at the ground.
“Okay, well hurry up and make up your mind, kid.”
Barry sighed and let go of your wrist. “Yeah, I’ll come.”
“W-wait, where are you going?” You asked in a whisper.
“I have no idea. I just have to go with Mr. Wayne here to-”
“Can I come?”
The question caught both Barry and Bruce off guard, as they stared at you for quite a few minutes.
“Depends,” Bruce said. “Can you fight?”
“Well, kind of. I know how to shoot a gun and use a bow and arrow, though.”
Barry coughed awkwardly. “So you’re saying that you know how to use a bow and arrow but you never told me?”
“Yeah...”
Barry looked at you with admiration in his eyes.
Bruce cleared his throat and looked at you. “Okay lovebirds, hurry up, we don’t have all day.”
You blushed and looked down.
“Right,” Barry mumbled, “Sorry.”
Both of you walked in opposite directions. You went to grab your jacket and Barry went to grab a box of pizza. When you were done you meet at the door with Bruce.
“Why the hell do you have a whole pizza?” Bruce asked Barry as the three of you walked out to Bruce’s car.
“Well, since I have super speed, I burn calories, like, ten times faster than the average human would, so I have-”
You started to zone out after a while, falling asleep in the back of Bruce’s car.
-----
“So anyway, the problem with-”
“Let me stop you right there, kid,” Bruce said. “You talk way too much.”
“Right, sorry. It happens when I’m nervous,” Barry muttered, looking out the car window.
There was an awkward silence before Bruce spoke up.
“So, tell me about your girlfriend.” Bruce looked at Barry and smirked.
“She’s not my girlfriend.”
“You sure? I mean, the way the two of you look at each other and the way you both blush while talking to each other kind of makes it seem like you’re a couple.”
“Yeah, well, we’re not, so just drop it.”
“It’s kind of obvious she likes you, Barry,” Bruce stated.
Barry snorted. “I wish.”
“You should ask her out.”
Barry looked at Bruce with his mouth agape. “What?”
Bruce sighed. “Listen, kid, you like her, she likes you. Ask her out. You two would make one hell of a couple.”
“I-I can’t. I mean, god I want to so bad, but I can’t. She’s my best friend and I don’t want to ruin our friendship if she doesn’t like me back. I wish I could but, I just can’t.”
“Kid, listen. You have to try. If you don’t try now, you may never get the chance.”
“Yeah, but what if-”
“Enough of the ‘what if’s’. You’re going to ask her by the end of the day, got it?”
“Um, yeah. Okay, yeah. I’ll ask her by the end of the day, I promise.”
-----
You woke up just as Bruce parked his car at the Batcave. Bruce opened the door and stepped out of the car, you and Barry following after him.
“Oh my god...” Barry muttered, looking around.
“Pretty great, right?” Bruce asked, walking away. You and Barry followed likewise, taking in your surroundings as you walked along.
At one point Barry absentmindedly reached out and grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers. You blushed and looked down at your intertwined hands, smiling to yourself.
You continued to follow Bruce for a few more minutes before you stopped in a large room. At a table sat a young woman and an older man. The young woman stood up and walked over to you and Barry. You felt Barry drop your hand when she reached you two.
“You must be our new recruits. It’s wonderful to meet you. I’m Diana.”
She held out her hand Barry took it. “Hi Barry, I’m Diana,” Barry said. “Wait, no, that’s not right.”
You snickered as Diana pulled away and put her hand out towards you. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Y/N.”
She looked at both of you and smiled. “So, are you two a-”
“No, we’re not,” Barry protested, cutting her off.
“Oh.”
An awkward silence settled in the room before Bruce cleared his throat. “I’m just going to need to take Barry here for a few seconds, to, talk,” Bruce suggested, grabbing Barry’s upper arm.
“But, Mr. Wayne-” Barry interrupted.
Bruce pulled Barry away before you could here anything else. You swore you saw him wink at Diana before he left.
“So, Y/N,” Diana began, starting to walk forward. “Tell me about yourself.”
“Well, uh, I like animals, and art,” you muttered. “I also guess I like read. I mean, okay, I love to read. I can shoot a bow and arrow, too.”
“That’s cool. I know how to use a sword.”
“Cool.”
It was quiet for a minute and you could only hear the clicking of Diana’s heels. “Do you have a boyfriend?”
You felt your face heat up. “Well, no, but-”
“Are you interested in anyone by chance?”
“I mean, yeah, but-”
“It’s Barry, isn’t it?”
You sighed. “Is it that obvious?”
She laughed. “Just a little.”
“Damn.”
“You should ask him out. Like, on a date. I’m positive he likes you, too.”
You snickered. “That’s funny.”
“Oh, come on. It’s obvious he likes you back. I mean, he was the one that grabbed your hand, wasn’t he?” Diana smirked.
“You saw that?”
“Obviously. We all did. You could probably hold his hand more if you asked him on a date.”
“Yeah, no.”
“Why not?”
“Out of all the people in the world he could possibly like, why the hell would it be me?”
“Well, you’re a beautiful young lady who is very sweet and is an absolutly wonderful person, even if I’ve only known you for an hour or so.”
“Your point is?”
She sighed. “Y/N, my point is that you should take that chance and-”
“WE’RE BACK!” Bruce exclaimed, walking in the room with Barry following behind him.
“Wonderful. Bruce, do you think I could talk to you for a minute?” Diana asked, smiling at Bruce.
“Of course.”
As they were walking out of the room, Diana turned around and winked at you.
“Hey,” you muttered.
“Hey.”
There was a long pause before you both spoke up. “So I was thinking-”
“You first.”
“No, you go.”
“Okay,” Barry paused. “So, I was wondering if you maybe wantedtogotothemovieswithmethisSaturday?”
You looked at him for a few seconds in confusion. “W-what?”
“I was-I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me this Saturday?” He mumbled, looking at the ground.
“Like-like a date?”
“I mean, yeah. O-only if you want it to be a date, though. It doesn’t have to be if-” You cut him off by gently pressing your lips against his.
The kiss was over about as quick as it happened, but for Barry it felt like forever.
“So I’m gonna take that as a yes?”
“Yes, Barry Allen. I would love to go on a date with you.”
You both smiled at each other, leaning in for another kiss.
“FINALLY!”

My Hero
A/N: Oh my goodness another Barry Allen fic!
Request: from @avengers-and-jedis “GOSH YOUR BARRY ALLEN FIC WAS ADORABLE! Can you write one with an artist!reader! (Ezra’s Barry please) Thank you!” Thank you so much! This was an amazing idea and I’m so glad you requested it! Remember if you have a request to send it!
Pairing: Barry Allen/The flash x reader
Description: You just need inspiration for your next piece. That’s when your boyfriend, Barry, comes to save the day.
Warnings: Swearing, like always
You sighed in frustration and threw your pencil at the wall. Groaning, you put your forehead on your desk. “This is so stupid...” you muttered to yourself, closing your eyes.
There was a knock at the apartment door. You stood up and walked out of your office, opening up the door. There stood your boyfriend, anxiously waiting with his hands behind his back.
“Hey babe,” you said, smiling up at him.
“Hey,” he replied, putting an arm around your waist. He pulled you into him and kissed your forehead.
You sighed and put your head on his chest.
“What’s wrong?”
“You know that art project I have to do for class?”
“Yeah.”
“Well it’s due in a week and I haven’t even started it.”
“Oh.” Barry frowned. He knew how important this project was. It would determine if you passed or not.
“Yeah, I guess I just haven’t found the inspiration for it yet,” you mumbled.
You walked into your apartment and sat down on your couch, Barry sitting next to you. You put your head on his shoulder and closed your eyes. He put an arm around your waist and put his head on yours.
“This is so frustrating.”
“You need any help?”
“No, it’s fine. I guess I’ll just fail the class,” you paused. “I’m not even that good of an artist anyways.”
Barry lifted up his head and turned to look at you. He put a hand on your cheek and made you look at him.
“That’s not true.”
“Well...” you whispered, your voice trailing off.
“Y/N, you’re one of the most talented people I know. You may be the most talented person I know. Just because you don’t have inspiration for this project doesn’t make you a bad artist. I promise you’re going to get an A, and you’re going to pass this class,” he told you, smiling.
“Thanks,” you sighed, leaning in and lightly pressing your lips to his. You smiled into the kiss. You may have finally found an idea for your project.
-----
A week later, you handed in your project to your professor.
“This is amazing, Miss L/N,” she told you, admiring your art. “You wouldn’t mind if I put this in tomorrow night’s art contest, would you?”
You smiled. “No, not at all.”
She smiled back. “Wonderful, I’ll see you then.”
-----
“Barry, come on!” You yelled, anxiously tapping your foot. “We’re gonna be late!”
Just then, your boyfriend walked out of your room, putting on his jacket. “Okay, I’m here.”
“You know, for being the fastest man alive, I would’ve expected you to find your jacket a lot sooner,” you snickered, looking at him.
“Oh, well I’m sorry I couldn’t find the jacket you stole from me.”
“Well, I’m sorry it’s so comfortable,” you giggled, sticking out your hand. “Now, come on, before we really are late.”
He grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers. “Whatever you say, babe.”
You both walked out of your apartment building and into the cold December night. You knew you only had to walk a few blocks to get to the art contest, but damn it was cold.
Barry saw you shiver and threw his arm over your shoulder. “You know, we could get there a lot quicker if-”
“No, Barry,” you said, cutting him off. “You’re not allowed to use your super speed.”
“Damn.”
You giggled and kissed his cheek. “We’re almost there, anyway.”
Barry smiled to himself as the two of you crossed the street. You walked down the sidewalk in silence until the faint sound of classical music could be heard. As you turned the corner, hundreds of people came into view.
You smiled to yourself as Barry removed his arm from your shoulder.
“Y/N!” You heard someone shout as you turned around. Your best friend, Angelica (sorry if that’s your name, just change it I guess), came running up to you. She jumped into you, throwing her arms around your neck. “You made it! Took you long enough.”
“Sorry.”
“Doesn’t matter. They’re announcing the winners of the art contest in ten minutes!” She yelled, grabbing your wrist. “We have to go see who won!”
You looked back a Barry and gave him an apologetic look before Angelica pulled you away from him.
Angelica pulled you to the area where they had all the art out. You smiled to yourself, seeing your professor standing next to your painting. She looked at you and waved, indicating she wanted to talk.
You walked up to her and smiled. “Mrs. Smith! Thank you so much!”
“Oh, it’s not a problem, dear! You are an amazing artist, after all.”
You blushed and looked at the ground. “Well, I wouldn’t say amazing...”
“Nonsense! You’re one of my best students! You have such an amazing talent, I’m surprised you haven’t won some kind of award! Speaking of which-”
“All art contest judges are needed at the judging table,” said a voice over the speakers.
“Oh, that’s me! I’m so sorry. I hope you have a wonderful night!” She waved and walked off, leaving you alone. You decided to go find Angelica again since she managed to wander farther away from you than expected.
As you were walking through the crowds of people, you ran into someone. You stumbled backward and would’ve fallen if they hadn’t caught you.
“Oh my god I’m so sorry I didn’t-”
You looked up and saw your boyfriend rambling with such an apologetic look on his face. You giggled and stood up, leaning forward and setting your lips on his.
“You should really watch where you’re going, Barry.”
He looked at you with admiration in his eyes before he wrapped his arms around your waist. “You’re one to talk, L/N.”
He pressed his lips to yours and you smiled. Leaning into the kiss, you ran a hand through his hair.
“We are now announcing the winners of the art show!” The same voice as before said.
You pulled away from Barry. “That’s my cue.”
You grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the crowd around the judging table.
“I would like to thank everyone for coming out tonight!” Mrs. Smith began. “I am amazed at all the artwork that was put in the contest! Sadly, only one of you can get first. I would like to congratulate that award to...”
“...Miss Y/N L/N!”
You threw your hands up to cover your mouth in excitement. Barry looked at you with the widest grin on his face. “That’s you, babe.”
You slowly started to walk up towards the judging table.
“Congratulations, Miss, L/N,” Mrs. Smith said, handing you your trophy and painting.
“Thank you.” You smiled and walked up to her, wrapping your arms around her and pulling her into a hug. “Thank you, so much.”
“No problem, dear.”
You heard everyone around you clapping, but all of it drowned out with the pounding sound of your heartbeat.
-----
After the crowd cleared, you ran towards Barry.
“I won!” You exclaimed as you jumped into him.
“I know. I was there.” He smirked and wrapped his arms around your waist as you jumped up and wrapped your legs around his. “I’m proud of you.”
“I couldn’t have done it without you, Barry.”
“Why’s that?”
“Well,” you began, resting your forehead on his. “You were my inspiration.”
He gave you a questionable look.
“I painted you, Barry. I painted you and that god damn award winning smile.”
“I’m flattered.”
You giggled and gently pecked his lips. “I wouldn’t have won that award without you. You’re really a hero, Barry. You’re my hero.”
-----
That felt rushed and was probably trash but I hope you liked it!

Meet the family (Barry Allen x reader )
A/N Okay first post hope you like it.
You hated family gatherings they were horrible. The only thing that took place was your aunt judging your life style telling you about how you were too fat, complaining about your lack of a love life or according to her your dead end job.
You were actually quite happy though you loved yourself as well as your job and you had an awesome boyfriend .
You gazed at your aunt who just kept on rambling about how good your cousin was and how she could set you up with someone from her job
“Of course it would be hard after they saw a picture of you but hopefully someone will find you appealing”. You could stop her easily but really you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. You wanted to see her smug smile dissipate when she realized that you not only had a boyfriend but a very handsome and successful one at that. You heard the bell ring. Immediately your face lit up you knew it was Barry.
“I’ll get it.”
You entered the house before practically sprinting to the door and opening it to hug your boyfriend.
“What took you so long?”
He didn’t answer he just simply tilted your head up and kissed you . It was so relieving after being with your family for so long.
“It doesn’t matter. What matters is that I am here now.”
The answer was as clear as day he didn’t need to say anything. It was Zoom. You pulled away and decided to let it go. Right now it was time for you to introduce him to your family not worry about blue speedsters, that could be dealt with later. You grab his hand and start making you way to the back door but before you can open the door he stops you.
“What?”
“I’m a little nervous give me a few seconds. ”
You were shocked when you had told Barry about the gathering he had simply said yes and shrugged it off but clearly it was a big deal to him. How could it not be? He was meeting your family. You felt horrible for not noticing.
“Hey no need to be nervous they going to love you and if they don’t, you don’t have to worry because I don’t like most of them anyway”
You could see what you said had done nothing for him.
“I love you.” you blurted.
This was not the way you had intended to say it. You had a plan. A plan that included candle lit dinner, music, rose petals and new lingerie.
He was shocked for about a second before he pulled you in for a kiss, and then another, and another and another before he finally said it.
“ I love you too.”
That was all you needed to hear because in that moment it didn’t matter what anybody thought about you or what your family would think about Barry because you were happy. The man you loved had just said he had loved you too and if your aunt’s smile had fallen off when she had seen Barry it was just a bonus.
