a very pissed off rant because some people still think this is a romance centered story

okay everyone ik people are loving the romance angle a lot in these books, and people on reddit are like "stop policing us!! some people read it for romance!! we don't have to adhere to your rules!! okay so 1. shut the fuck up and 2. this book is not romantasy. it is a YA fantasy series, it is bree's journey, her story, her life has romance so we get to see romance.

if this book were romantasy, or like even just with a major major focus on romance, i could understand dropping the book for a love interests' appearance/disappearance or not giving it stars because it is a romance book and it failed to make you feel romance worthy. but it is not a romance book. romance is a subplot. even the fucking tag is after young adult. if it were a proper romance you would know!! this is a romance subplot!! this is a sort of coming of age typa story it is bree's story can we please stop fucking pretending that the romance is the only thing here??

ik we love a dark-haired brooding character i love him too okay but is it that fucking hard to understand that this is not about him?? this is why reading comprehension and literacy empathy is important it doesn't take people a moment to toss bree away because oooh white boys.

im not saying the books are perfect, yes there are flaws, but if the only flaw that you can find is that one white guy isn't mentioned or mentioned too much in a black girl's story then you need to put the damn book down and go back to your romantasy section. this is not a story for you and I'm tired of people posting "uNpOpUlAr oPiNiOnS" and it's just plain bullshit.

Like idk man maybe it's just me but i wouldnt exactly brag or talk so openly about how long it took me to figure out 1 line. like maybe about the journey to figuring out how X should happen or why Y is like this or smth smth, all the different drafts and ideas and the thought process, but even then. taking 27 hours to figure out a LINE?? and it's "i'm the dirt under your nails"!?!??

I've always been a little upset with Ben for "Did I Mention" because of what he did to Audrey so here's a little something I cooked up to let my frustrations out.

Ben barely had time to react before Chad’s fist collided with his jaw. Pain exploded across his face as he stumbled backward, gripping his cheek. “Ah, shit! What the fuck?” He looked up, eyes wide with shock, as Chad loomed over him, his face contorted with rage. “Why the fuck did you do that?” Chad seethed, his breath heavy, fists still clenched at his sides. “Do what?” Ben asked, his mind still foggy, heart racing. Chad scoffed, shaking his head before stepping closer. “Ask Mal out in front of the entire fucking school while you're still dating Audrey.” Ben felt his stomach twist. He swallowed hard but said nothing. “Oh, so now you don’t have anything to say?” Chad let out a bitter laugh, then grabbed Ben by the collar of his jacket, yanking him forward. “Give me one fucking reason why I shouldn’t beat your ass right now.” Ben struggled against Chad’s grip. “Look, Chad, you don’t understand—” “Understand what?” Chad cut him off, shoving him back with a force that sent Ben stumbling. “That you publicly asked out a girl while you’re dating someone else? That you dedicated your winning shot to a girl you barely know over your own girlfriend? THAT YOU DID AN ENTIRE SONG AND DANCE AND CONFESSED YOUR LOVE FOR HER WHILE YOUR GIRLFRIEND WATCHED IT HAPPEN?” Chad’s voice cracked with frustration. “No, Ben. I understand exactly how much of a dick you actually are.” Ben opened his mouth, but Chad wasn’t finished. “Did you know that she thought you were going to propose to her?” Ben froze. His heartbeat pounded in his ears. “...What?” “Audrey.” Chad’s voice dropped to a whisper, but the anger didn’t fade. “She thought you were going to propose when you won and took the mic from the announcer. She thought—” His voice wavered, but then he clenched his jaw and stepped forward again, jabbing a finger into Ben’s chest. “And then you—you—YOU FUCKING BROKE HER HEART! IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE FUCKING SCHOOL AND THE ENTIRE FUCKING KINGDOM!” Ben felt like the wind had been knocked out of him. He stumbled back against the wall, running a shaky hand through his hair. His head felt foggy, thoughts jumbled, like something wasn’t right, but he couldn’t place it. Chad let out a sharp breath and ran a hand through his own perfectly styled hair, messing it up slightly. His voice was even quieter now, but no less raw. “Look at me, Benjamin.” Ben did. “I accepted my fate of never having her,” Chad admitted, his voice strained. “Because I knew she was happy with you. I knew how happy you both were. So I accepted it. I stayed and watched my best friend and the girl of my dreams live their fairytale.” He clenched his fists at his sides. “But then you messed it all up.” Ben swallowed thickly. “Look, Chad—” “No, Florian, I’m still talking.” Chad’s voice was cold, final. “It would’ve been better if you broke up with her first. It would’ve been way better. But no, you didn’t. And now Audrey’s heart is broken in the worst possible way.”

Ignoring how Hazel Hook is entering Descendants lore out of the blue as Harry doesn't even mention book/Wicked World sisters in the films, aka Harriet and CJ Hook, let alone any new film contunity sisters like Hazel...the fact that it's being alleged, key word ALLEGED, that she's mean to Pink during the Auradon Cup games....girl they really can't make any black characters in Descendants without either making them victim to plot BS or just antagnostic to other characters.

Fangfest 2024 - Day Seventeen - The Tower

Raymond Mulder, former detective turned hunter after more than enough rough run-ins with the Supernatural. Got a Kinfolk girlfriend and soon her abusive Garou ex attacked and permanently scarred him, his former boss forced to commit suicide in front of him after it was revealed that the vampire shadow government was running the Chicago PD. Formally the most normal normie you could meet, he tried to at least face the dark as nobly and as rationally as he could. Monsters were monsters - hell, a lot of "regular" humans fit this category too - but not every single one needed to be met with a violent hand.

The Tower is a card that represents an almost violent upheaval, a change in situation, destruction, catastrophe. Raymond's existence was forever changed the second he had made the decision to rid the world of just two more Kindred...

Done with Auradon

Jay was incredibly tired. He hated Auradon, he hated the shitty expectations and rules and standards. He hated how it changed Mal, Evie, and Carlos to the point Jay could hardly recognize them. Mal turned into what you'd expect an Auradon princess to be, and even changed her damn her to blond. Evie's hair was now a light brown to 'fit in' with the other princesses and she just different from when they were on the Isle. Carlos became more snappish and closed off to Jay, like Auradon kids were, weary if him, which hurt so fucking bad. Jay also hated Auradon because they created the Isle and left them their to rot and die by their own parents hands.

Jay hated Auradon. He was currently picking at some old scabs that he never let heal, looking around at the empty dorm that's just his now. Carlos moved out to one of his robotic club buddies dorm. He didn't even tell Jay, Evie told him. Jay felt the scabs open into wounds again and watched as blood pooled around and dripped into the floor.

Jay hated Auradon, he hated it, he hated it he hated it.

But then it all came to a head when he asked Mal is she wanted to hang out or go to the Tourney field and play a 1 on 1. Mal had already seemed stressed and pissed off, but Jay just talking to her seemed to make it worse, she snapped at him. Jay could barely comprehend half of what she said but he picked up 1 thing, "why are you so useless here" Mal had snapped along with other things but Jay could only here that. Why are you so useless here, on repeat over and over and over again. Why are you so useless here. Here. Auradon. Jay left without letting Mal finish snapping at him. He ignored everyone and went to his dorm, when he got there he slammed the door shut and locked it. Useless here.

Jay hated Auradon.

Jay replayed every interaction with his gang in the last few months, they were annoyed at Jay, he couldn't help them with anything here like he could the Isle. He was useless. He heard his father's voice in his head, and Jay remembered the times Jafar said he'd be more useful dead. Mal's and dad's voice played on repeat until they blended together. why are you so useless, your more useful dead.

Jay stared at the dagger in his hand. More useful dead. If Mal said it, it was true, right?

Jay played with the dagger in his hand and looked out to the Isle, than drove the dagger right to his heart. Dropping instantly.

It wasn't Mal, Evie, or Carlos who found Jays body. It was actually Coach Jenkins who found him. Jay missed Tourney practice something he never did so after practice Coach went to his dorm to see if here was there. The door was locked and normally Coach would've left it and and try to talk to him tomorrow but something felt wrong. So wrong. He tried to open the door again and as expected nothing. Coach decided he'd worry about damaging school property when he knew his kid was okay. With a sharp kick to the door it was forced open. Coach Jenkins paled the moment it opened. Jay lay there coated in blood, with his eyes half open and a small smile gracing his pale face.

The next bit was a blur everyone was sent and made to stay in the cafeteria no one being told what's happening. Then it circulated around that a student was dead, someone had heard the teachers talking. It circulated to the vks and it pure panic ensued. Jay wasn't in the cafeteria, no one had seen Jay after Mal snapped at him. Mal paled and forced her way past the teachers Evie and Carlos in toe. They got to Jays dorm. There were people everywhere, teachers, police, paramedics, and fucking journalists. "Hey! You shouldn't be back here," a police man called out. Mal ignored him in favor of staring at the white bag covering someone on the floor. A noise came from the back of her throat a sob or something like that. Evie was staring at the bag, tears and makeup streaming down her face uncaring of her looks anymore. Carlos brain stopped. All thoughts and ideas and feelings went out the door. Everything just stopped. Jay was dead. His protector, his brother, his everything was dead.

The next few weeks were a blur, but Jays funeral came quickly. Coach Jenkins gave a heart felt speech, the Fairy godmother, then Lonnie. Evie and Carlos didn't give speeches, they knew Jay thought of them as sappy and gross and too Auradon. But Mal did. Mal talked and talked and talk telling people what child Jay was like, what Jays hidden dreams were, his weird but genius thoughts. To how much she loved him like a brother to finally openly blaming herself. No trying to get pity, not hidden scheme's, just full truth Mal blamed herself. Maybe if she hadn't been so snappish, maybe if she stopped for a second and remembered this was Jay, her second, her brother. Maybe if she agreed to do a 1 vs 1 tourney match. Mal was openly crying as she spoke. It was the first time ever she got so emotional in a crowd. She figured Jay would be proud of her for being more open. If only it wasn't because of his funeral.

(I'm only gonna do the ones mentioned by people who worked with descendants. And any kid seen for more than a couple of seconds in wicked world is disaqualifed immediately because you can see their personality. Also I know crabby isn't a girl in canon but since no one ever corrected me, you all have to deal with a female crabby).

Li Shang Jr—he's a lot like his mom but has his dad's temper and overprotective-ness. And he's really inti music and a great boyfriend.

Elle (wheel chair girl)—she's the adopted daughter of Eric and Ariel. And she's a lot like her mother, and gets along with her better than she does with her dad. She's stubborn and hopeful and always tries to remain optimistic. And she's creative.

Taylor (One off tourney kid who I assume is Tarzan's kid)—he's as wild as his dad and as smart as mom, and an animal on the field. He's good with animals and socially awkward but a good friend and boyfriend to have.

Derek (Doug's brother)—he's a weightlifting selective mute who's dating Diego de vil. He's multi-talented, multilingual, and very smart and ambitious. And a protective older brother and cousin.

Miguel (random tourney kid)—he's Milo and Kida's kid. He's smart and nerdy like his dad but sporty, athletic , and stubborn like his mother. He never gives up and loves learning about other cultures.

Brendan (random tourney kid)— One of Lottie La Bouf and Lars Westergaard's kids. He's kind like both of his parents and a bit snobby but he's a good friend to have and one of the few people in the Westergaard family who's not afraid to stand up to his uncles and grandparents. He's protective and helpful and supportive and day Dreamer.

Li (another tourney kid)—assuming he's Longwei's kid, he's the complete opposite of his dad and very resentful that he got stuck with a girl's name. He goes by Lie and is very mischievous, playful, and smart. He's the life of the party and one of the best players on the field. Also assume he's mixed.

William (another tourney kid)—he's Wendy's middle child. And a mixture of her, Michael, and John. He's smart like John (and his older sister Jane), playful like all of them, resourceful, parental like his mom, brave like his dad, loving like his older brother and uncle Michael, and very very athletic though he doesn't look it. He's also good with kids and animals and doesn't hold anything against the vks that their parents did.

Akio (another tourney kid)—he's Edna mode's son. He's eccentric and wants to be a hero but he's also heavily into sports and building traps and designing. He'd get along with Evie and hate capes. He's very big on the no capes rule.

Ruby (Flynnpunzal's kid)—artsy girl who's afraid of dating at first. She's cautious and knows how to defend herself. A lover of the arts. She can name almost any piece you show her. She's friendly and loving but very introverted.

Aziz—friendly kid. A good thief like Jay. Athletic and accepting. Smart and competitive. A bit off a show off. Good at giving people the slip. Observant. Playful. Ladies' man. What more can I say?

Ariana Rose—ever watched mean girls? She's basically Regina George and is totally awful to Audrey. She's hauty and snobby and loves rubbing everything in Audrey's face. She's Isabella but an actual bitch. No misunderstanding about it. And unlike Audrey, she has no reason to be. She's the perfect golden child. The one Leah always compared Audrey to.

Bobby Hood—Mischievous, playful, protective, fun loving, quick, smart, clever, cunning, brave, dashing, a ladies man, a bit slow at times, nature loving, athletic. Bit of an attention seeker. Good leader and friend. Sarcastic. Snarky. Loyal. Stubborn. A bit noisy. Totally in love with Tiger Peony.

Tiger Peony—kind, nature loving, sweet. Smart. Natural born leader. Activist. Feminist. Loyal. Stubborn. Protective. Multitalented. Good at stealing the show. Sassy. A bit noisy. Mysterious. Sarcastic. Intune with herself, her feelings, and nature. Good at giving advice. Has a thing for Bobby Hood.

Herkie—Slightly dimwitted sweet heart who loves art and sports. Doesn't know his own strength half the time. Protective. Kind. A bit noisy. Good at misdirecting people. Loves pranks and food. He's a good chief and fighter but also if you need a distraction, he's your guy.

Artie—a fun-loving, hyperactive, playful pre-teen who wants to be just like his dad when he grows up. He loves pranks and sword-fighting, and climbing trees.

Pin—Cocky. A bit of a smart ass. Mysterious. Noisy. Smart. Playful. Creative. Bad liar. Funny. Protective of his family. Good at carpenting. Loves amusement parks. Doesn't trust easily. He's a smoker and a mostly honest guy. Ambitious. Knows how to get what he wants. Think Richie from It mixed with August from ouat and Donkey from Shrek. Also a prankster.

Opal—bit of an odd girl to outsiders. She's brave and confident and never shies away from being who she is. She's a good musician and advice giver. Loves her friends. She's loyal and smart and Intune with her heritage. Bit of ambivert who learns more towards the introvert side. Witty as well. Good dancer. Friendly. Bit of a pacifist but will fight when necessary.

Arabella—she's an open, loyal, and friendly outgoing girl who reminds people of her aunt Ariel in many ways. But she's also assertive and a party girl. A free spirit who doesn't like to he held back and isn't above being sneaky to get what she wants. She's a rebel and advocate and activist and the life of the party. No party is the same without her there. Also had a bit of a corruption arc.

The Tweedledum and Tweedleedee cousins—mysterious introverts who stick mainly to themselves and other Wonderlandians. They're mischief and meek when together and totally different people when not. Rarely seen without one another.

Clarina Potts—motherly, friendly, sweet, a bit bossy, good cook, good babysitter, a cheerleader, preppy, social, a bit dirty minded, playful. A model student. She's a lot like her mother tbh. She also wears a pan on her head as a hat.

Yi-min—she's temperamental like her father, loving like her mother, loyal like her parents, a good fighter, can stand her own ground, brave and determined, doesn't like hip hop, bit of hippie. Good strategist. Fun. A foodie. A blogger. A theorist. Good at deduction. Helped Lonnie out in school of secrets. Good with cameras.

Hap—hippie, doesn't always think things through, a romantic, socially awkward, a cheerleader, takes after his dad. Talkative. Party boy. Not very academically inclined. Calls his car baby. You know the type.

Anxelin—goth artsy girl who's quick on her feet, snarky, sassy, sarcastic, and good at stealing. Loves her family and friends but is a total introvert.

Bashful/Bash—shy musician who worked for Diego's band for awhile. He's a nature guy. Bit of a hippie. Works at a flower shop. Mysterious. Doesn't have a lot of friends. Introverted. Bit of a lone wolf..

Gordon—likes Ivy de Vil. Smart ass. A bit dimwitted. Protective middle child. Takes awhile for him to like and trust people. He's strong and works at the docks. Doesn't mind feminine things. Will do anything to make his girl and younger cousins and siblings smile. Bit like Ward from season 1 of Shield but not evil. He speaks his mind. Has a good sense of humor.

Sleepy Jr.—a geeky nerdy insomnia stricken drama club, gamer student who falls asleep everywhere. He loves movies and works at the movie theater. Kind and friendly and playful. More confident than Doug.

Shy—his name is deceiving because he's actually rather outgoing and social, and popular. He's on about every sports team at Auradon Prep and he's rather confident, even when he shouldn't be. He's not also not as smart as his younger brother (or Doug) not that he'd ever admit that.

Snoozy/Creeps—He's an anti-social poet who wants to be a teacher when he's an older. He changed his name to creeps because he hates his old name. He's also good at fighting and is rarely ever asleep. He's academic and in college.

Doc 2/Raphael—he's a snobby college kid who is currently trying to become a doctor. He always acts like he's all that and is a bit of a smart ass. Thinks he's better than he is. But he's also helpful and is always the first to rush to his cousins/friends/siblings' aid.

Cheerful—he's brave, confident, kind, likes goofing off, smart, stickler for the rules. Friendly. Always tries to save as many people as he can. He's a volunteer fire fighter. Athletic. Fun loving.

Gesundheit—a bookworm toy maker who is loyal, playful, kind, sweet, friendly, and smart. Completely introverted. Makes dirty jokes constantly. Quite the swearer. Which shocks people. He's good at playing innocent too.

Crabby—a moody, ambitious, hardworking smart aleck with a temperament who wants to be a social worker. She is a former class president and girls inc. member who knows how to get what she wants.

Tyrone (tourney player)—Tiana and Naveen's son. Best friend of Brendan. He's hard working like his mom and playful and flirty like his dad. He's a sporty guy, knows how to play the banjo, and he loves crocodiles and fire flies. Hates frogs though. He has a thing for Freddie. He's interested in voodoo, not that he'd ever tell his parents that. Bit of a show off. Kind. Sweet. Kind of bossy. Prefers Jay over Carlos. He's afraid of being turned into a frog.

Fic idea

A curse happens in Auradon, similar to the sleeping curse, except only people in love stay awake, and they have to find the villain to stop the curse (this is preferably not the main story line). Except, Mal slept but Ben didn't and Jay and Carlos both stayed awake but no one could figure out why because people don't know they're together. The only people not struggling are Evie and Doug and there is loads and loads of drama. It concludes (slightly skipping over the villains defeat) with Jay and Carlos being found kissing and admitting they are together (no outing them though because that's not cool(this means making sure that the audience is aware that the characters are aware of their sexuality)) and Mal and Ben have a dramatic breakup where neither are in the wrong but it's still messy and there's lots of hurt because Mal isn't in love with Ben but instead just trying to keep everyone safe and happy and Ben feels like he had been used and is also only just learning how serious a love potion is (if you want to replace that entire explanation with Mal bashing, be my guest)
