The Israeli army bombed an entire residential block east of al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip at dawn on September 17. Over seven buildings housing Palestinian families were completely destroyed, caving in on top of the heads of their inhabitants. According to witnesses, the Israeli army prevented ambulance and Civil Defense crews from reaching the site to rescue those who may have survived, using quadcopter drones to shoot at anyone who arrived.

Civil Defense teams had first arrived at the site at around 5:30 a.m. and began rescue efforts, despite the difficulty of working in the dark without proper equipment. 

The spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, told Mondoweiss that when Civil Defense teams first arrived at the site, they found that all the bombed houses had been inhabited by three families. The Tartawi family, the Abu Shawqa family, and the Batran family accounted for over 50 people in the buildings.

“Our teams arrived on site and saw the bodies of the martyrs under the rubble and the ceilings that had fallen on top of them,” Basal told Mondoweiss. 

Not long after first responders started pulling victims out from under the rubble, the Israeli army’s drones arrived and shot upon rescuers, journalists, and bystanders.

“There were also voices of people under the rubble, but suddenly while the teams were working, Israeli drones began shooting at the location and ordering people through speakers to leave the area immediately,” Basal said.

3 September 2024: King Abdullah II inaugurated the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference SOFEX 2024, in Aqaba, attended by Crown Prince Hussein.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) CEO and SOFEX Deputy Chairman Brig. Gen. Ayman Al Batran said hosting SOFEX in Aqaba for the second time in a row offers a greater opportunity to capitalise on the city's geographical and economic advantages, and enhances Jordan's position as a destination for international exhibitions and conferences.

SOFEX 2024, held under the theme “Cooperation and Convergence to Strengthen Global Security”, is also hosting the second edition of the Levitate exhibition, a specialised exhibition on drones and unmanned aerial systems, Batran added at the ceremony, attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein—adviser to His Majesty and National Policies Council chairperson—Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein, Prince Hussein bin Hashim, and Prince Mired bin Ra'ad, Chief Royal Councilor at the Royal Hashemite Court.

Ismét jeleskedtek a csajok a vezetéstechnikai versenyen: Budapest Extreme Day 2024

Idén másodszor került megrendezésre a Motor Road Tech szervezésében a budapesti Nagybani piacon a Budapest Extreme Day. Ez egy egész napos rendezvény, ahol a balesetmegelőzés áll a középpontban, de az adrenalin sem marad el. Az egész napos motoros és családi programokat idén is Hadnagy Józsi konferálta fel, a Triumph Moto Challenge elnevezésű motoros vezetéstechnikai versenyen pedig Rákóczi Feri volt a konferanszié. Ahogy a verseny neve is elárulja, idén a Triumph volt a program támogatója, a versenyzők ugyanazzal a Triumph Trident-tel hajtották végre a trükkös feladatokat. Tavaly és idén is volt férfi és női kategória a versenyen. A női kategóriában összesen 5 induló volt idén, közülük ketten, Bandur Benita és Fenyvesi Judit motoros rendőrök. Az 1-2 perc hosszúságú pályát vezetéstechnikai oktatók (akik szintén motoros rendőrök) állították össze. A szabályok és hibázási lehetőségek ismertetése után minden induló besétálta a pályát, majd egy sisakból húzták ki a neveket, hogy milyen sorrendben indulnak. A Triumph Tridenttel mindössze pár perc ismerkedésre volt lehetőségük a versenyzőknek, illetve a versenyen két mért kört ment mindenki és a jobbat vették figyelembe.  Figyelemre méltó, hogy a civil versenyzők közül Kata ugyan egy figyelmetlenségből adódó hiba miatt az egyébként nagyon jó 2. körét kicsit elrontotta, de még így is sikerült megelőznie az egyénként nagyon rutinos Benitát, így ő került a dobogó második fokára. Az első helyen Fenyvesi Judit, a harmadik helyen Bandur Benita végzett. Fenyvesi Judit üzeni mindazoknak a motoros nőknek, akikben már felmerült, hogy megpróbálnák magukat egy ilyen versenyen, hogy ő is a 0-ról kezdte a motorozást minden tudás nélkül. Az előnye annyi, hogy sokat tudott motorozni a munkában és fogékony volt rá, hogy sikerüljön a képzés. Saját motorja talán egy évig volt. Nagyon örüle, ha ezzel a versennyel nem elijesztenék a csajokat, hanem tudnának segíteni akár jó tanáccsal, vagy néhány olyan tudnivalóval, ami fejben dől el.
