Preface: Listen. Listen. I have been waiting for precisely this kind of tag for AGES. THANK YOU FOR THIS TAG. I have a multi page spreadsheet with MANY colorful charts about this because I am a nerd that is DEEPLY invested in personality systems.** (A few characters already mentioned here and here)

Rachel Elizabeth Dare.

Okay, I was HIGHLY tempted to put Annabeth here instead (bc of the obvious sustainable design architecture connection) but I think Rachel is the funnier option of the two bc of my history with it. If you were here about two years ago, you might recall the initial Rachel Elizabeth Dare comparisons (referenced here and here). It is my great pleasure to inform you all that I have firmly crossed over from Blonde territory into Redhead territory due to the passage of time and the insanity that is hair color genetics. My hair also gets puffy and curly now, just because it really wanted to commit to the Rachel Elizabeth Dare bit. I don't know how this happened, honestly, but strangers now refer to me as a redhead, and I'm fairly certain it is through the power of manifestation of all the mutuals who called me Rachel. Well done friends. You are all magical beings who have cast Become Rachel spell on me so consistently and for so long that it WORKED. I was always decently Artsy + Environmental Justice-y, but I am especially so nowadays, mostly by virtue of being involved directly in both fields as a sustainable design, marine science, and bio-systems design student. There’s just a lot of environmental stuff happening in those, but it all has a distinct artsy side to it bc it’s heavily design oriented. So. Yea. Redhead, artsy environmentalist with,, ahem,, relatively loud opinions. Oh, I also own a blue hairbrush!

RACHEL’S PERSONALITY DATA: ENFP - 4w3 - sx/so - 478 - EIE - SLUAI - EFVL - Sanguine [Dominant]

Mark Watney

This one is also admittedly here partially for the joke. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you might have noticed that I seem to be allergic to a lot of things. Like way too many things. A concerning amount of things. But fret not friends, because I, like Mark Watney, have the ever reliable Irish staple that is the potato to keep me from dying! For whatever reason this food has been consistently pretty kind to me, even when everything else tries to kill me a little bit. Which is great! And just,, really weird. Anyway Mark and I both seem to inhabit a world that constantly poses threats, a world that no one else experiences but that they still try to understand and support us through. And we don’t have a lot of food options, but we both have the potato. Blessed be la pomme de terre. Honestly any character in a hostile environment is one I immediately and irrevocably pack-bond with (see also: Katniss Everdeen, Robyn Davidson (a real person!!), Pi Patel, Steven Callahan. (also a real person!!)…), but I ESPECIALLY identify with Mark for his commitment to levity. I love that he is a relentless problem-solving optimist, quick with a joke, but also expressive of other emotions too. My identification with Mark is more,, aspirational than of Rachel. Mark is me at my best, and I hope to become more like him with time. Also, he’s into botany and mechanical engineering which is just the COOLEST. I love both of those things but haven’t made a career out of them (though I’m not ruling it out!).

MARK’S PERSONALITY DATA: ENTP 6w7 so/sx, 638, SCUEI, phlegmatic-sanguine (I’d argue for sang-chol, but phleg-sang is PDB’s verdict.)

Ariadne from Inception

I tried to pick characters that I haven’t already expressed an instant pack bond with, so here I am with my last choice: Ariadne. First I would like to plainly state that Ariadne is, like, way cooler and more fashionable than me. This comparison will not be one of THOSE metrics bc she and I are just,, very different in those regards. HOWEVER, these other two characters don’t quite carry themselves with the seriousness that (I have been repeatedly told) I do. Ariadne is a dreamer, a visual thinker, and a creative soul, but she’s rather less sanguine about it than Rachel or Mark. She knows her goals, she sets her sites on them, and she pursues them without hesitation but WITH consideration for how her actions might ripple out and effect change. I really admire her deep consideration of things, her ability to think abstractly, and her willingness to just Go Try New Things. I might not be quite on her level in those regards, but I’ve been told I SEEM like her at least, and I do actively try to be embody those traits. So, like Mark, her character is one I generally aspire towards. On the flip side though, Ariadne can get a little lost in her head and can become pulled into things that she’d probably be better off leaving alone, which I completely understand and relate to. Curiosity and cats and whatnot. Also, she’s an architect, so there’s that. Similar training!

ARIADNE’S PERSONALITY DATA: INTP, 5w4, so/sx, 514, FLEV, melancholic-dominant

ok halfway through the new kids in the hall season rn and i really like it (it definitely picked up in episodes 3 and 4). no spoilers but the whole time i'm watching it i'm sitting here thinking oh my god this is going to be so fun to analyze for my video essay

Request: hello you are one of my fave authors here i super love your works. can i req for a r x natasha where reader has this visual disorder (like her eyes' grade was 1000 and has astigmatism) thats why reader were wearing eye glasses for a long time then this moment when the team was asking for a picture reader takes off her glasses bc she had low self esteem, nat comforts her. thank you and i'll patiently wait for this ❤️

A/N: i am so sorry anon this took so long but i hope you like it! fellow glasses wearers rise! this honestly lowkey turned into a bit of a vent but we aren't going to talk about that. i finally got another fic out after months i'm so sorry, but i think i've managed to get passed the writers block and i have motivation to write now! so send in requests or whatever, and expect more fics.

You had always been insecure. Ever since you were young, you hadn’t ever found yourself liking the way you look. Sometimes it even felt like your insecurities had been engrained into your DNA, so you’d always feel this way. You had always had terrible vision, and have been wearing glasses for practically your entire life, which is likely one of the main causes of your low self esteem.

It wasn’t as if glasses were the beauty standard either. Any time you opened a magazine, or looked on Instagram, none of the celebrities or models you saw wore glasses. If, by chance, a character in a film did wear glasses, they were mainly seen as the nerdy, geeky, weird and annoying outcast. None of the popular or 'beautiful' characters ever wore glasses. It sucked. Big time.

Despite that, you’d have to say it’s quite ironic how you were more than likely seen as a nerd in high school. You were extraordinarily smart, exceeding in all of your classes and being the top of the class in each one almost effortlessly. So, it was to no one’s surprise that you were smart enough to get a job as a SHIELD agent. You weren’t a field agent and you didn’t do hand to hand combat - your vision and glasses would’ve caused too much problems (contacts were too expensive, and you didn’t much like them either) - so you were one of the agents who hacked into databases and gathered intel.

At SHIELD is where you met who would unknowingly become your future girlfriend, Natasha Romanoff. To be completely honest, sometimes you sit and wonder how you had managed to make her fall for you. You certainly weren’t anything extraordinary, you were average (or less than average, in your opinion) but her? Natasha Romanoff had to be the most gorgeous, angelic and sweetest person you had ever met. You had fallen for her as soon as her eyes met yours.

Fellow SHIELD agents had warned you about the Black Widow; ‘she’s incredibly intimidating’, ‘someone once said she made multiple men piss themselves out of fear’, ‘she’s so scary, I would hate to get on her bad side’. While that part is, admittedly, true, under her hard exterior you saw someone who loved her family and friends unequivocally and would not hesitate to die protecting them.

She was the best girlfriend you could’ve ever asked for. She showered you with love and gifts that you didn’t need, she knew exactly how to cheer you up and she remembered the little things that you couldn’t even remember telling her. But you didn’t deserve her. She deserved better. You saw the way people looked at you, ‘why is she with them? what does she see in them?’, whether out of jealousy or spite, it didn’t matter, because you couldn’t help but believe them. No matter how many times Natasha tells you differently.

Dating an Avenger meant that you usually got to join in when the team have ‘fun days’, and you’ve practically been dubbed Honorary Avenger at this point. The team had the day off and had so decided to take a trip to an amusement park. You had split up into separate cars. In your one; Sam was driving, Steve was shotgun, you, Natasha and Peter were in the back. Peter had complained he’d been shoved in this car so ‘the adults could babysit him even though he’s old enough to take care of himself’.

It was going great, music was blasting, everyone was laughing and telling jokes and Nat had packed some snacks for everyone. That is, until it wasn’t going so great for you.

“Isn’t that right, specky?” Steve guffawed after telling a story about some form of shenanigans you had got up to one night when you were drunk. You couldn’t remember it, but it was the nickname that had made your smile falter and your voice quieten to a whisper. Even though you had been called it as a joke for most of your life, and you knew Steve only meant it as such, it also targeted your biggest insecurity. Jokes that target insecurities aren’t funny, at least to you.

Natasha had instantly noticed your change in demeanour. She put a comforting arm around your shoulder and turned her gaze momentarily to glare at Steve, “Steve,” she said, her tone stern. The atmosphere in the car immediately tensed, and Sam quietly turned the music down.

“What?” Steve asked, “It was just a joke!”

“That wasn’t fun-“

You interrupted Natasha, “It’s fine, really,”

She looked at you, and you could tell she didn’t believe you. You squeezed her free hand reassuringly, “I promise,” she still wasn’t convinced, but dropped it either way. You were quiet for the rest of the car ride.

Upon arrival at the amusement park, Tony had gathered the entire team in for a group photo. He had asked a random woman to take the photo, who looked equally starstruck and scared to be in front of and taking a photo of the Avengers.

"Y/N, you should take your glasses off!" Tony suggested as he handed the woman his phone and got into line.

Your head whipped towards him, "What?"

He shrugged nonchalantly, "It's just a suggestion, we've never saw you without them before,"

You merely nodded as you felt Natasha's hand squeeze yours, you glanced at her to find her looking at you with a soft smile on her face. You knew each other well enough that sometimes conversation wasn't needed, and you knew she was telling you to only take them off if you were comfortable.

You drew in a deep breath before carefully taking off your glasses, your vision immediately going blurry - it was impossible for you to see anything around you - but at least it was only for the photo. You placed them gently into your pocket. Natasha squeezed your hand again at the same time the woman said, "Say cheese!"

The only sound that filled your ears was all of the Avengers and you saying a chorus of 'Cheese!'. You had a big smile on your face, even though deep inside you your insecurities were gnawing away at you. Tony ran to check the photo as you put your glasses back on, following the rest of the team to see it.

They all tried to gather around Tony, crowding over a tiny phone to see a tiny photo - which obviously wasn't working - so Tony resorted to passing the phone to each person so everyone could get a chance to see it clearly. When it was your turn, your eyes immediately went to you, and you had to stifle a sigh. Once again, you saw nothing worth being called beautiful. Natasha beside you was radiant, the massive smile she had on was one of pure happiness due to being surrounded by the people she loved. She was glowing. You looked dull beside her. You quickly gave the phone to Peter, who was standing beside you, wanting to see it.

Natasha instantly knew something was wrong. "Go on ahead, we'll catch up," she said to the rest of the team who walked away, giving you two some privacy.

"Y/N," she said, standing in front of you.

You avoided her gaze, "Hm?"

The redhead let out a sigh before cupping your cheeks, forcing your gaze to focus on her, "You know I love you, right?"

You didn't answer, so she continued, "You're beautiful," you scoffed but before you could say anything she cut in, "no, really, you're gorgeous. Not just outside, but inside. You have such a beautiful soul. You are so kind to everyone, and everyone who knows you absolutely adores you. Trust me, I've heard the team and SHIELD agents talk about how amazing you are. I'm not bullshitting you. You are so smart, honestly the most intelligent person I've ever met and on top of that you are so pretty," she could tell you didn't believe her, but she pushed on, "listen to me, you only see yourself when your posing for photos, you don't see yourself when you have a genuine, real smile on your face, or when you're laughing at something funny, or when you have a spark in your eye because you're doing something you love. But I do. I see you in those rare moments, and in those moments I swear to you I think you must have been an angel sent down from heaven. It was only inevitable that I was going to fall for you."

By the end of Natasha's rant, tears had sprung to your eyes. She said it with so much ferocity, so much conviction, that you couldn't help but believe her.

"Plus," she kissed the tip of your nose, "I think your glasses are adorable. You might hate them, but some people love them enough to buy fake glasses when they don't even need them,"

She had a point. You smiled at her and she returned the smile, her hand moving down to grab yours. You entwined your hands together, "I love you," you said, placing a chaste kiss on her temple.

"I love you most, now let's go catch up with the team,"

You both walked hand in hand, shortly catching up with the team as they hadn't made it very far (Thor saw a cotton candy stand and insisted everyone get one). You were feeling a lot better than you had 10 minutes ago, the words Natasha said to you repeating in your head, squashing the insecurities that had plagued your mind today. Sometimes you wondered how you ended up with such an incredible girlfriend.

Honestly i don't see why Horikoshi would care for Noguchi's shippy art. They are still mutuals on twt (as far as i know) and given the fact he does have lgbtq+ characters in his manga, represented in a not shitty phobic way i hope there isn't at least (as in using their queerness as why they are bad or should be feared and disgust the audience/with offensive stereotypes to mock the community) i don't think he'd be mad at Noguchi for their cute little bkdk drawings.

Also horikoshi has the most awkward nice nerd persona in the existence it's kind of hard imagining him caring or being actively antagonistic just bc his assistant drew some cute shit with his characters lmao

Yeah exactly it seems they’re still in contact. I was just thinking too, I have an unusual amount of trust in Horikoshi. Everything I hear about him is so endearing. And when I’m reading bnha I don’t feel worried about coming across any major turnoffs, like say, casual transphobia or suffocating heteronormativity or some random ignorant bit. I feel like he knows what he’s doing with anything that seems stereotypical. Like I’ve said, he plays with expectations. I’m just, so at ease? And there are so many famous writers out there who I don’t trust with shit lol

I don’t doubt that Horikoshi is fine with it. Y’all may have seen yesterday on twitter Noguchi had a space going called “DKBK” and the gist of what was talked about was kindly translated here. (Thank you!) It’s all very chill and joking, and when Noguchi was teased about being a shipper he said he “can’t talk about it” but I get the impression that it’s more of a confidentiality thing. Like, not risking giving things away maybe 👀 I mean that might be a stretch but for “not being allowed to talk about it” he still seems pretty free to like/rt and draw what he pleases and it’s pretty obvious what his opinion is. So I read it more like, “I can neither confirm nor deny what I think/know about this as I am technically an inside source”

Random thoughts: do you think, at some point in his life, Artem has written fanfic of his favorite sci fi stories or even interacted with fandom at all?

Related thought: imagine Artem going to a sci fi convention and having a complete misunderstanding of what this kind of convention would be. Like he thought it would be a more serious, business-like convention where people have serious discussions with authors and scientists and people-with-titles, but he gets there and it's a bunch of people in costume chilling out and having fun. There are still serious discussions happening but it's like between someone dressed as a cyberman and someone dressed as a borg. Would he eventually get into the spirit of it or just continue to be confused through the whole event?

Sorry, I was in the shower and started thinking about Artem being his adorable, awkward, nerdy self.

i think about how artem is a sci-fi nerd so often, it’s one of the things that def cemented him as my fav tot boy. so i have many self indulgent thoughts. please excuse anything that seems off, i’m just letting loose and being the little trekkie fan fic writing whore i am.

as for writing for his fav sci-fi stories, i think he’d go about it like one of his mockingbird reviews in terms of writing an essay about what would be “more narratively satisfying”... like he’d ramble on about this theoretical ending he’s crafted, but the more mc reads it, the more she’s like. hm. if you adjusted this slightly and added dialogue, it’d be a story. you should try writing artem, this is really good.

artem just kinda brushes this off bc he’s the most self depreciating mf on this planet when it comes to anything that isn’t law, but i can see him trying to write his own original, non-fandom sci-fi stuff in the future.

god speaking of fandom, i always forget artem is gen z. i wouldnt be surprised if artem stumbled upon fucking like. 2016 tumblr or something as a teen.

he feels like the type to dislike most conventional, modern day fandom spaces. top ten guys who would bitch and moan about a lack of critical thinking after reading one bad take, type up a whole essay to rebuke the take, then delete the essay once he realizes it’s not worth it

i totally agree with the convention bit 100% HAHAH. i think with the right prodding he’d get into the spirit of things. aka, with mc’s influence. she was the person who got artem to wear a little costume and to act in a play. and act in multiple other things. also the person who put bunny ears on him in one of their cn server dating cards. if mc was like we should couple cosplay!! he would simply be Okay Alright Sure (and i think his theater kid ass would secretly get such a kick out of it too)

random side headcanon with absolutely no basis, so please indulge me, but i agree w the many others in this fandom who think artem would be a trekkie (a next generation or deep space nine enthusiast if i were to wager a guess).....

hmm and for fun, here are my #takes on the other nxx members... luke would probably be a star wars guy (with a nostalgic fondness for the prequels and intense opinions on the clone wars). mc is the middle ground of liking both sw and st. these three are the most intense nerds. marius would like the original star wars trilogy and vyn would disgust and dismay the group after admitting he has not seen anything from either. which like... nxx viewing party in order? perhaps?

Also, I’m a minor, so if minors talking (lightly and indescriptively) about sexuality or slightly nsfw things makes you especially uncomfortable, skip. Although I would gently encourage any aroallo adults to read this because I seriously need help (don’t do it if it makes you uncomfortable. Y’all are just my target demographic here)

Recently, I’ve begun to question if I’m actually aroallo. A while ago I met a guy at my school and, idk, he’s pretty attractive. And then one day when I was doing something cough cough he just sort of popped into my head and I didn’t like it but I didn’t hate that it happened either? I get a lot of intrusive thoughts, especially of the more sexual variety, so the thought of doing the do with someone I wouldn’t want to do it with are pretty common and I’ve gotten pretty used to them, despite the fact they make me highly uncomfortable and give me the need to scrub all my skin off.

But I just don’t know. I can’t tell if I don’t like the guy in any non-platonic way, or if it’s just an intrusive thought. Him just popping into my head didn’t necessarily kill the mood, but I made me pretty uncomfortable that I thought about him at all. I’m pretty sure he has a crush on me (not to be a total nerd but we’re both in dnd club and his character literally saved my character’s life after he fell down the stairs and almost died (he’s a piece of bacon and two eggs in a trench-coat and his yolk broke on the fall) also some smaller stuff when he was our dm like always making sure I got to talk bc everybody was literally so loud, oh my god. But he would like single me out) because of the dnd club stuff and just the way he looks at me. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like it. I’ve never, or very rarely, been held in high regards by anyone and it feels really good to think that someone might see me as special. But I don’t know. I just can’t tell if it’s an intrusive thought or not. A lot of those lines have started to get blurry and it scares me.

I’m sorry, but I’m scared to be aroallo. I’ve seen the general discomfort of other people around aroallos. I don’t want my friends to suddenly think I’m some sort of sexual predator just because I’m attracted to people without “loving” them romantically. They’re all aroace, and I’m afraid I’ll indirectly get kicked out of the group or something for being too sexual if I’m anything other than ace. I’m worried people with think I’m too young to identify this way.

I don’t even know if I AM too young to identify as aroallo. I feel like, of course, I wouldn’t be, but I feel like adults (including aroallo ones) are going to be uncomfortable with that since I’m a minor. I want to talk to adults about this, because they know more than me and maybe even share the same experience and could tell me what might be happening, but I don’t want to make adults uncomfortable.

I’m just scared. I like being ace. So many of my aspec friends decry sex in the “it’s gross haha we’re all asexuals here hehe” way that I’m scared I’ll suddenly be alienated.

I don’t even know if I actually am attracted to this guy. He’s cute. But I just can’t bring myself to imagine myself in any sexual situation with anybody who’s not fictional. It feels like I’m violating their boundaries. I would feel like a hypocrite for fantasizing about actual people because I’ve always made fun of it to myself and always held the opinion that it feels very strange to do that. It would make me ridiculously uncomfortable to know someone was fantasizing about me. Flattering, sure, but I don’t think I would ever talk to that person again.

I wish I could talk to someone, but I have no one. I feel like I’m too young to talk about it. Even if I were to lie about my age (won’t do that, I promise) I’ve noticed the lack of discussion around sexually intrusive thoughts in the OCD and other communities. They feel taboo, even for adults, and I’m scared to open up about how difficult it is to distinguish between what’s “bad” and what’s “good and normal”. I just want to curl up and never have to look at anyone or be seen or feel anything again.

Hiii!! :D I’ve been thinking about a certain question circling around my brain and I have to talk to you about it, I thought the ask box would be a nice format for it!

I’d looooove to hear your thoughts about favorite characters from most —> to least and why! I feel like i’ve heard SO many mixed thoughts about literally each and every one of them (like how the fandom is divided in 2 parts, one being - Ryan has no personality, and then the other worshipping the ground he walks on) so it’s really intriguing to hear all about it, especially coming from a writer that does a hell of a good job writing them! <3

Tbf I don’t dislike any of them! I just like Jacob the least, mainly because if it weren’t for him, everyone would be on their merry way home xxx also his infatuation with Emma just isn’t it for me! his personality also feels v two dimensional aside from a few times near the end or if he turns? but I’ll blame the writers for that TY!! arrogant + desperate + self centered = number 9 for me x

8. Abigail

Honestly I hate to put her this low because she’s just like me 💀 I love that she loves to draw and that she’s artistic and shy but again very two dimensional! Also why is she only in like half the game, I would’ve loved to see more of my girl! 7. Nick

Controversial opinion maybe but I don’t hate Nick! In fact he was my fave until he disappeared on us for half the game 😭 maybe I’m just a sucker for the sweet athletic nerds who can cook? Help. He turned into quite the dick when bitten but i think that goes to show what exactly his insecurities are? Joking about getting all the ladies but then with Abi, it showed how much he hoped that she liked him because he really liked her too and the werewolf bite took that hope and made it negative and aggressive. But aside from that, we barely got anything from him other than the romance and being the poor soul who got cut out too soon XX (the fics of him however are godtier at giving me everything i needed)

6. Max

There is something so endearing about Max! I love that he’s so intuitive and funny with his dry (and sometimes confused) tone xxx also him and Laura have such a healthy relationship, even when they were trapped in the jail cell?? Things I love to see!! Protective, loving, nervous about his future bc he was rejected from college? There’s a personality there! Honestly it just sucked that we saw so little of him :/ give us more max, and not just as a rampaging werewolf trying to kill emma xxxx

5. Ryan

Ryan falling in the middle so true! Every game needs a brooding loner tbh and I think that he definitely has more personality than most of these characters! I like his monotone, I like his one liners, I like that his ass has quite the bank account xxx sometimes he did annoy me though! like him seeing the ww out the window of the radio hut and literally saying nothing? his refusal to be open minded when they were talking to Laura about Chris? sir. he redeemed himself by the end for me though, thank u! now stop playing hard to get and give dylan your phone number—

4. Emma

Emma is honestly so fun for me! I like her snark and her influencer habits amidst a horror game are very entertaining 💀 not to mention how many times she’s been chased and nearly killed during this game? she’s a survivor thank you! her friendship with Abi is sweet and I think they balance each other out really well (aside from the obvious part where she was a bit of an ass for kissing Nick, even if it was some backhanded scheme in her head). she’s smart and doesn’t like seeing people sad (unless ur Jacob so sorry to you) so she’s a winner in my book 😌

3. Laura

Laura being in the top three as she should!! Do love how capable she is of anything that she wants to do. She’s very much a shoot first, ask questions later kinda gal but it’s out of love for her bf and tiredness of being caught up in this shit xxx very smart, very resourceful. plus her wanting to be a vet is so good to me specifically. her and max calling each other honey also gives a big boost of serotonin! all in all, love her, would marry her if she wasn’t taken ty!

2. Kaitlyn

My GIRL. My 5’1 fave xxx Kaitlyn honestly has a dad joke sense of humor and I live for it even if I have to look away 💀 but also she’s so??? good at everything????? ma’am spare some of those shooting and mechanical skills for the rest of your friends bc it felt like she was the only one who knew how to properly do anything. very hot to me as well, not the point but also the point. i like her take charge attitude and i like that she would jump out of a car that’s like 20 feet in the air to save her ass from a werewolf 😌 her and dylan are also the best of friends, I don’t make the rules?? like why not have Ryan kiss them both bc I would xxx final girl so true of her!

Dylan ‘herd of bears? yeah I’ve heard of bears’ Lenivy as number one, who’s SHOCKED. He’s the most well developed out of all the characters with the most personality and has made me laugh out loud at the dumbest things xxx his dry humor + sarcasm + protectiveness + cleverness with the duality of also doing dumb shit? pure 10/10. I like how seeing both versions of Dylan, the one who got his hand chopped off and the one who remained bitten, didn’t change how much I liked him as a character. Hilarious that i didn’t like him in the beginning of the first playthrough like you fool xxx anyway love him, hope that he’s happy and living his best life and sharing earbuds with Ryan on their way home 😌

I come here for words of wisdom. Every time I read a fanfic about Bakugou being a fuckboy I normally laugh it off because it sounds ridiculous in my mind, although sharing this thought with other people made me realize that some actually think he might be in the future???? So, I want your honest opinion. Not just about that, but I'd genuinely love to know your input on how Bakugou would be in his late-teens, early adulthood, before (for the sake of it) meeting X and settling. Would he sleep around? Would he try for a relationship and fail? What would fail? What would make him settle? Would he really just focus on hero work and that's it? So. Many. Questions.

but yes yes specifically about bakugou being a fuckboy..... yeah i have no idea where the fuck they get that from. like- did we watch the same show???? sex and especially being naked are such vulnerable things at their core, and they rlly think Mr. Anti-Vulnerability is gonna be the one to sleep around??? to willingly put himself into a vulnerable situation time and time again?? no. pls. c’mon y’all. sometimes i think even todoroki would be more likely.

okay so how i see it, is bakugou is probably totally and completely fine being alone up until his like mid 20’s. sure he thinks maybe it’d be nice to have somebody, but he works so hard that it’s always a fleeting feeling. but then he gets a little older, settles into his spot on the rankings (#3 btw, im soRRY kats but its the truth!!) and watches all his friends get into meaningful relationships. and then, a few more years down the line (think late 20’s/ early 30’s) he’ll be sitting back and being like “shit. i don’t have anybody like that. somebody who’s just for me. who’d pick me first always.”

and i think that is what he wants most of all. i mean, he’s clearly chock-full of insecurities related to that idea, and i cant imagine him ever settling without that need being fufilled. like, i think eventually he’ll probably abandon the idea of being #1 hero, but he’ll still keep that dream of being #1 somehow. so once he finds somebody that always has his back, always puts up with his shit and still loves him at the end of it?? still looks at him with stars in their eyes day after day??? pls. mans is putty and will never even dream of leaving

but that being said- i dont think he’s gonna find The One on first try. i think he’ll be aiming for that, but i cant see it working out. even when he starts seriously dating around his mid 20s, i think he’ll still be too caught up with his hero work. it’ll take him a good few years and one/two failed relationships to finally find a balance that works for him and whoever he ends up with

listen of all holiday movies from the 90s this one aged the best, I'm not taking opinions, i'm correct. and I'm a 90s baby and also my first hyperfixation at age 11/12 were charles dickens books (yes, i was kind of a weird kid, and a nerd but I am also 30 and on tumblr so who is surprised?) and the muppets are ICONS and legends and there is no better film adaptation of a christmas carol out there, there just isn't. this version is literally closest to the spirit of the book AND it has miss piggy! you can't beat that.

Why I like them: Tucker is such a real person. He's a real guy you can just... find. He's competent and insecure and he's clever, observant, and angry, he's a good dad and he's a nerd, he's sarcastic and a smartmouth and it's all just OUGH. He's a real dude! You can sympathize with him even if he's a little shit sometimes, and he really fucking cares about doing the right thing and being responsible. He's got a lot on his shoulders that he never wanted on them and it shows.

Why I don’t: The. Gross sexual stuff. His defense mechanism of acting gross so he'll know why people don't like him works on me I am thoroughly repelled. To be fair though those anti-livestock predator blinky lights also work on me so like,

raya and the ugliest fucking dragon i've ever seen holy fuck who the hell thought to give a dragon fuckiNG EYEBROWS WHY WHY—

aka the musings of a filo non-binary bisexual who feels victimized by the dragon designs of this fucking movie supposedly centred around THE LAST DRAGON???? MAYBE THEY SHOULD HAVE STAYED STONE GDI WHAT THE FUCK SERIOUSLY WHY DO THE DRAGONS LOOK LIKE THAT

let's get one thing straight.

none of the characters in this movie. rest assured. not a single straight person was in this movie. trust me.

raya and the last dragon had all the foundations of a good movie

a disney movie with sea culture at its heart and soul, i was so hyped to finally watch this movie

(AND PERHAPS FOR GOOD REASON LOL I SWEAR I DONT HATE THIS MOVIE OKAY)

you had the amazing score, the amazing concepts for plot and characters, the solid solid worldbuilding???

if you just told me about how raya's setting and premise, i'd probably be "wow this movie sound like the whole package"

and then i'll actually watch the movie and have just as much trust issue as raya did :/

but i digress

A DISNEY MOVIE WITH SEA CULTURE AT ITS HEART AND SOUL

do you know how diverse sea culture is??? VERY

and one thing i was very happy to see was how raya handled it

it was by no means perfect but

the subtle shows of culture in the way the characters acted, and the environment of the movie was just CHEF'S KISS

not only that but the ideas the movie had in terms of its world and the people in it felt genuine, it felt alive

a dragon that isn't the typical fire-breathing lizard

characters who look like they could easily be my neighbours or children i've played with

instead of pandering to this movie felt like an actual homage to sea cultures

and for good reason bc seeing all those familiar names rolling in the credits had me feeling some type of way :")

also that fucking soundtrack gave me chills throughout my watch of the movie

okay now that we've got the things i actually like about the movie, let's talk about what i don't like

if there's one word i could use to describe disney's raya it would be: rushed

like i said in the beginning, all the groundwork for an astounding disney movie were already there

but all of it just goes to waste bc the plot and it's characters feel so Unfinished

the movie felt like a bullet-point presentation of the story

WHICH IS SO FUCKING DISAPPOINTING BC THE CHARACTERS SEEMED SO INTERESTING but all we got were shadows of what they could have been

cardboard cutouts of the archetypes they filled

i'm not asking for a bottomless well of depth, but i at least wanted more for the cast than just: angry misunderstood princess, angry misunderstood princess with an undercut, that one dancing kid from moana but with more spice, boss baby, and the mountain

and i get that they had to sacrifice some of their depth to keep the run time of the movie short but you have got to be better than this disney

i hate to compare but it felt like this movie tried to go beyond what moana gave us, and shot so far that it ended up back to where it started, and then stumbled back a few steps

AND IM NOT EVEN SAYING A DRAGON MOVIE WITH A BIG CAST IS IMPOSSIBLE

and you'd think the plot for one of the few disney movies with a non-western setting would have more than just a macguffin considering how batshit sea folk tales can be

GENUINELY IT FELT LIKE THEY WERE ATTEMPTING SOMETHING BUT WERE SHORT OF BRINGING IT TO FRUITION

sure moana had a macguffin too with the heart of te fiti, but the heart itself wasn't the heart of the movie

it was the journey of moana and maui

it was that BEAUTIFUL TWIST WITH TE KA AND TE FITI

ALL DELIVERED WITH A NATURAL FINESSE THAT HAD YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT

YOU WERE ALONG FOR THE RIDE OF THE STORY INSTEAD OF QUESTIONING EVERYTHING THAT WAS GOING ON LIKE I WAS

maybe this was just me but like, i felt so bad for the friend who watched this movie with me bc all i could go on and on was how the plot felt like it was getting in the way of itself

why didn't the different kingdoms (??) kept the gem in rotation or smth, when did they decide that heart would keep it and then get mad at heart for keeping it????

why didn't awkwafina dragon just show herself to the kingdoms bc everyone seems to be in agreement that dragons good right? that they would be the key to getting rid of the druun right??? SO THEY'D ALL AT LEAST HEAR HER OUT OR SMTH RIGHT????????

and yes raya has trust issues but it seems to only spring up at the most convenient times plot-wise, we didn't really see her learn to trust other people again OTHER THAN THE TIMES WHERE SISU WOULD HAMFISTEDLY SHOVE IT DOWN OUR THROATS THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE GOOD SOMETIMES RAYA

we see it with boun, but then she just trusts noi, her monkeys, and tong THE GUY WHO STRUNG THEM UP AND WAS THREATENING TO TORTURE THEM????????

i'm gonna be honest and say that if it weren't for namaari i'd have absconded the moment sisu came on screen

as far as i'm considered the actual plot of the movie is just the entire sword fight scene between her and raya

we get to the part i will be erasing from my brain for my own mental well-being

when it comes to something like animation, or film in general, or visual art, or novels... i feel like, i have a reasonable sense of what the field looks like, what different styles signify, what aesthetics and stories I'm drawn to, even how one goes about creating it. i feel "able to speak". i don't think this was always the case to the degree it is now - writing this blog has certainly helped hone my critical "voice", i feel a lot more confident now to speak without hedging - but i feel like I've never been afraid to talk about it.

for whatever reason, the same is not at all true for certain other art forms. music and fashion are the obvious ones. it's not that i don't enjoy listening to music, or find some clothes more appealing than others... it's more that i feel like a foreigner, acutely aware of what i don't know and that i may come off as cringe for venturing an uninformed opinion. "whereof one cannot speak..." etc. and it's not that I'm afraid that someone will lay into me... as far as other people go it's honestly more silence that I am more afraid of, the awkward smile or silent "oh dear" in someone's head, but even if i don't provoke that, i hate to be wrong.

sj shit provided a very helpful concept of a binary heuristic: a work should be judged above all on its political failings and unintended messages, as measured by the ever growing checklist of bad representation tropes and statistical analysis of cast makeup. it was a terrible framework for analysing anything but the most sterile corporate media, but it was at least a framework. so for some years i basically only listened to other trans women, and to soundtracks, which could be considered "safe". (don't be a cultist. it's a miserable time.) which meant i avoided learning about music, not deliberately but effectively... i had a safe strat.

as for fashion... trans nerd, go figure. i got a handful of women's t shirts in colours i liked, learned to apply eyeliner, got some leggings and skirts (which are now falling apart), kept my walking boots, and accepted this as a set of outfit choices which say "person is trans girl" without being too specifically... anything, really.

and then when anyone asks me "what kind of x do you like" and my brain just short circuits because the question is evidently loaded with all sorts of subcultural signification that any answer may say things i don't intend, so i just kind of say something question dodging like "oh i mostly listen to game soundtracks" and try to get them to talk about what they're into. but it sucks bc, even if we do find something we both like, i can't say what i like about it because i have in effect avoided training my ear and learning the vocabulary.

anyway this habit sucks and i would like to break it. many of the people i love are real music nerds, and i want to be able to share that with them, and seek out music without blindly picking from the platter presented by the youtube algorithm. i don't like my brain raising exceptions, i want to understand and refine my intuitions into a sufficiently defined taste that i won't just always be playing the naive ingenue who doesn't know her arse from her elbow when it comes to music. and yeah, running drawing streams and getting people to suggest musicians has helped get me a bit of an education, but it hasn't really destroyed the mental block. i don't know what the answer is - maybe the trick is to practice venturing opinions by writing about music? scary as that sounds, it probably is the only thing that would work. after all that's how i got confident talking about anything else. researching animated films every week for a year and you get a pretty wide knowledge of animated films... write tens of thousands of words about a book or game and you become pretty confident talking book...

so if i started going back over my friends' music recs and look up all the terminology i don't know, maybe at some point I'll start to find a "voice" here. not on the level of jackie or alex but enough to be more than a black hole into which suggestions fall...

as for clothing... don't even know where to begin with this one. ada got me looking at certain subreddits where people post their outfits, so maybe trying to do something like that would be the trick, like just putting on clothes at a shop is hard to imagine getting into, but the idea of turning it into some kind of photography thing... ok ig that would need to be for my friends on discord lol, I'm not doing that out in the open. fashion only evolves in the context of social relationships after all.

the trick is to accept the high probability of being cringe in a bad way and keep going anyway. even knowing you'll do something dumb like get into electro swing for a while. a regrettable episode but did it ruin my life? hardly. you only ever get better at doing something by doing it over and over, so that your brain has a chance to reinforce and adapt to that behaviour. if i want to practice expressing opinions of my own rather than trying to like, fit myself around the tastes of real people who know what they like... well, the only way to do it is to build that habit.

THE PARALLEL BETWEEN JIN LING BEING A LIFELINE FOR JIANG CHENG AND A-YUAN FOR LAN WANGJI AFTER THE BATTLE AT THE NIGHTLESS CITY

and like . the fact! that lwj and jc dislike each other!!. jc projects blame onto him for wwx both “leaving” him and indirectly causing their families deaths and when hes so consumed by it he makes wwx an enemy, lwj is there now? trying to protect him?? and lwj, who can never understand the pain that wwx , indirectly or not put jc through, but who was right there when jc tried to kill him and will never allow him to hurt wwx again. and how they like. in a way project blame of their tragedies onto each other while dealing with some type of survivor guilt and in their own way still loving wwx through it all??? amd in way its kind of fundamentally selfish but also tragically understandable? and like when u put it against the fact that after he disappears during the sunshot campaign they were looking for him together and fought together??

JUST. THE CHARACTERS. AND THE RELATIONSHIPS IN THIS. MAN. UGH. GOD.

and like i think thats what makes it so good? its such a sad and painful and violent story, edgy even, but its compelling bc at the center of it there are all of these relationships and different types of love and hope and. :( i love it

i Enjoy that, over the course of story, wwx sees that... theres nothing truly to Do, but move on. he saw how his arrogance and his mistakes hurt others, and hes trying to fix what he can, but he already did die for his mistakes and there are things he cant fix and that's. just how it is. even towards jgy, the narrative doesn't go gleefully and completely with "lets make THEM pay bc theyre the big bad" bc its not that simple, and it wouldn't lead anywhere but more pain...

re him and jiang cheng and the wens and kinda. isnt that what nhs did? scheming to displace jgy out of revenge more than any justice and doing so in the most painful way?

hello! i'm so excited with ur blog we share so many interests UWU. i was wondering if i could get a dps ship if u might? i'm an infj, with vir sun/aqu moon/pis rising, and slytherin. i'm a pretty reserved person, but not shy, and can stand up for myself and opinions any time of the day, i actually am pretty opinionated about lots of subjects. i'd consider myself a history nerd and nature/animal lover. i adore fantasy/fiction books. my other interests are all over the place, i just get bored very easily and then try to find something absolutely new to do and get hyper fixated w/ it for a while. bc of that i kinda can talk about anything. so many diff infos in my brain. i listen to all type of music and i'm also very short-tempered and might have some trust issues and a strong sense of self-preservation. oh i also really enjoy sports. most of it. just gets me thrillied. abt looks i'm 5'7 with very long dark hair and brown eyes. thank u!!!

At first Charlie wasn’t exactly interested in you

he had seen you around, yes and you’d had classes together but he never really noticed you

that was until another classmate started arguing with you and you got very loud and very opinionated very fast -you being a little short-tempered let’s assume this was a conversation that would get you a little riled and this is exactly what caught Mr. Charlie Dalton’s attention

He hadn’t noticed you before this because you were so reserved, you hadn’t exactly drawn any attention to yourself, perhaps on purpose, but once this boy got a good taste of who you were beneath that reserved nature, boy was he hooked.

at first you only have little conversations about a class, a recent book you read, sometimes even lame small talk about the weather

you thought he was just being polite

until he asked you out

you didn’t exactly see where that had come from but to him it made perfect sense, you had been acquainted now for several weeks even though the conversations were often sparing, in between classes and such, occasionally outside of school hours and now that he had woven himself into your days he wanted to spend more time with you

while you have some trust issues and it takes you a bit to get around the idea that he may genuinely like you and want to spend time with you, Charlie has an ease about it him that it makes so easy to trust him

it doesn’t take long before you two are together after that

Charlie loves how knowledgable you are about several different subjects and doesn’t mind one bit when you get bored of one thing and hyper-fixate on an other, I get the impression he is the same way

Once Charlie knows you like sports, you’re immediately involved in any of the outdoor sporting (or indoor too, I never did see a gymnasium at Welton though, I’d assume they’d have one) activities he’s involved with

He just loves playing sports with you and then relaxing after and grabbing a snack, to him that is the perfect way to destress, especially when it comes to school things

just a lil “if ash lived” headcanon that i need to unload somewhere bc i've been holding it in for a long time

- set within the manga ‘verse

- takes place when ash and eiji are in their early 30s... so around the mid 1990s?

- i don’t get the weird animanga trope where older = longer hair, so they’re gonna look the same... maybe with slightly shorter hair bc they get regular haircuts now

- (note: i've always interpreted long-haired eiji as symbolic of the fact that he couldn't move on from ash’s death)

- ash and eiji will continue living in the states, idk if still in NYC or somewhere else. they’ll move around a lot though.

- ash will mostly remain underground as he had to fake his death after lao’s stab, but he does it in a "hiding in plain sight" kind of way. only a handful of people know he’s still alive.

- ash spends most of his time on the computer, mostly coding, hacking, being a nerd, among other fun stuff.

- he also takes on “jobs” anonymously, and occasionally from max (who’s still into investigative journalism) when he needs info that can only be obtained through Dubious Means.

- i also like to think that ash's a bit of a hacker robin hood lol. but he isn’t doing it purely out of the goodness of his heart, as part of it is a subconscious need to atone for his “sins” and cleanse the gnawing and persistent feeling of shame that gets amplified when he’s around eiji.

- also whatever he’s up to these days would ofc still be Highly Dangerous and Illegal, but it keeps him busy and would sate the part of him that’s still hungry for adrenaline without him having to engage in stuff like active bloodshed or substance abuse. basically that’s how i imagine he’d try to cope with life the only way he knows.

- eiji continues to do photography and other part time gigs bc he does not like the idea of mooching off ash forever, and he slowly makes a name for himself.

- ash and eiji live together but they are NOT together in a romantic sense... not yet >:)

- therefore eiji will probably date other people in the meantime, which gets a little troublesome bc it's not like he can bring them home to where his secret Very Important Friend is secretly hiding.

- ash will maybe have one-night stands every now and then. or not. idk. this isn’t a very important detail.

- anyway there will be lots of clueless but mutual pining :)

- ash especially, is of the opinion that they should start living separately bc someone will eventually track him down, maybe someone who has a past or present grudge on him. combined with his current activities, it’s only a matter of time before eiji would unwittingly get dragged into his problems again.

- eiji is v adamantly against that plan bc he's sorta developed a debilitating sense of paranoia that ash might just get killed somewhere while he’s not looking. not that ash isn’t paranoid either, but his insecurities often tip the scale over to “eiji is safer away from me” than “with me”.

- basically they’re doing their whole “stay. no, leave. no, stay” dance all over again, but like, dragged out over MANY YEARS.

- you thought eiji’s letter would’ve cleared up any crossed wires?

- HELL NO

- like yea, there was probably a beautiful honeymoon period of about a year or two after they reunited, before their respective trauma and issues started creeping in and fucking things up again.

- esp on ash’s end, i think he’d engage in a lot of self-sabotage. and eiji is only human, he has his own limits and baggage too.

- there will be a government conspiracy plotline but on a smaller scale compared to canon that i am unfortunately not knowledgeable enough to worldbuild on, but it will probably have something to do with cybercrime/cyberterrorism/stuff like that bc it needs to tie in with ash's hacking shenanigans.

- i've heard that sing ends up becoming some sorta political big shot in yasha? idk, i haven't read it myself, but since china’s rising status was mentioned in GoL i imagine the plot should relate to that somehow.

- therefore sing would also get to be in this story!

- i guess this means yut-lung would come into the picture at some point as well, and it would be a good opportunity for a redemption arc but i haven’t given it much of a thought bc i’m indifferent to his character orz SORRY.

- look i can’t do plot, but i am basically envisioning a political thriller with a side of slow burn romance (wait, you mean like a rehash of canon?)

- i’m thinking max is the one who kicks off the story by bringing something fishy to ash, and they just end up uncovering more and more and MORE stuff as they keep going.

- so for like 80% of the story, ash and eiji will be separated bc ash will be busy spying or infiltrating something... and being at the center of Plot Things, while max and eiji will be more on the outside dealing with the journalist side of things. i’m fond of max-ash interactions but i’m also REALLY CURIOUS about max-eiji’s dynamic :D

- meanwhile sing will be like, half in and half out i imagine. he's versatile like that lol

- ...i did NOT mean that in a dirty way

- anyway, this will provide ash and eiji ample space to work out their issues separately, as i think living in close quarters for so many years has actually been aggravating them. ofc those issues don’t get 100% resolved by the end, but some time apart from each other to cool off and spend with other people should provide a bit of perspective.

- i want ash to make some NEW FRIENDS (!!!) that are on the same wavelength as him bc there’s only so much that he can tell eiji and i’m sure he gets rather lonely, so there will be OCs that he will meet in the middle of Plot Things.

- ash will get trapped at some point. preferably with sing so they can have a much needed heart-to-heart talk. they’ll have a lot to hash out, ranging from the events in BF, shorter’s and lao’s death, all the way to ash’s love life.

- btw i like the idea of eiji and sing being close drinking buddies who confide in one another but ash is kinda, justalittle, not very happy about that LOL

- i mean, it's not like eiji can confide in ash when ash is the topic at hand, ya get me? as for sing, he’s similar to ash in the sense that they live dangerous lives, so i imagine he just finds it nice to be able to hang out with someone mundane like eiji every now and then.

- not to say that ash and sing aren’t talking to each other at all, but i think they’d have a bit of a rift between them. sing probably does feel some resentment, both at ash for killing lao AND at himself bc he knows deep down that given a choice, he would’ve saved ash over his own brother. ash can sense that tortured vibe, so eiji’s like their middle man. AND THAT’S WHY THEY NEED A HEART-TO-HEART TALK

- (SIDE NOTE: i want akira to have a role in this too. i actually have a separate headcanon that happens prior to this story... kinda like an alternate GoL?

akira goes to the states to visit eiji, but ash is also there, yeah? akira and ash start out sorta prickly with each other bc ash is all weird and standoffish and always cooped up in his room. she probably mistook him as a jobless model mooching off eiji at first since 1) eiji and ibe have never spoken about him back in japan (cuz he’s supposed to be dead), 2) why would eiji be living with some random hot guy? unless they met during one of his photography gigs? right???

and then she ends up witnessing them in the middle of a tiff, which makes her not like ash even more bc HOW DARE HE YELL AT POOR OKUMURA-SAN??? UNGRATEFUL JERK!!!

but over the course of her visit, she snoops around learns a bit about their history and gathers hints as to why their r’ship is kinda strained. also ash and akira somehow end up bonding (reluctantly) over their emotional insecurities and part on a friendly rivalry to win over eiji’s affections (which eiji is completely oblivious to. also akira may have been 100% serious but ash was just jokingly playing along with her (OR WAS HE???)). anyway long story short, ash teaches akira some cool tech/IT stuff along the way so that leads to her gaining an interest in the field.

she won’t be able to do much in this story, but a minor role would be cool :)

- (SIDE NOTE #2: i ALSO want cain to feature in this, but bc canon provided very little bg info on him it’s hard for me to figure out where he’d fit. but i suppose that’s precisely why it would be great to include him, since i can just make up my own backstory! lol. for now, i think he should be connected to one of the new OCs to make him more central to the plot. or heck, he can be involved himself! ...yeah, i’m just salty about how cain was treated more like a convenient plot device compared to the other major side characters. we barely know anything about him even though he was one of ash’s most trusted allies. #caindeservedbetter2k20)

- anyway, back to the main story. ash (and his new "friends") barely escape where they’re held hostage. ash would be rusty with combat now as he’s spent the past few years doing only stealth work and being rather sedentary.

- so there’ll be lotsa old man!ash jokes like them poking fun at him whenever he complains about his back hehe

- when they finally emerge outside they find themselves in the middle of nowhere! they then hijack a passing pickup truck and do a roadtrip back to civilisation. ROAD TRIP FTW

- at this point, quite some time has already passed and ash even has a fuzzy beard and mane and all. he’s standing at the back of the truck with a small smile on his face and the wind blowing in his hair, thinking GONNA GO BACK AND SEE EIJI, MISS HIM LOADS, HELL YEA

- (bonus: this song and this scene is the catalyst for this entire headcanon btw)

(drew this about a year ago. i was trying to imitate the manga’s art style... and the ash i had in my mind was a little different. i’m too lazy to redraw, but he’s fuzzier now okay! MORE FUZZ! like an actual freakin LION!)

- meanwhile, eiji and max will get into some deep shit around this point?

- eiji in the pic above was me imagining that the Bad Guys had tossed some damning evidence (eg. severed body part?) on the ground like “ash’s dead/ash’s in a lot of danger now so hand over all the info u have”

- and eiji and max are like. SHOOKETH

- this would be the 3rd time ash has “died” after all, and as they say... 3rd time's the charm...

- eiji almost gives in, but then max spits in their face like fuck no and then... yeah. they get beat up and taken away or something lol

- EDIT: hmm... what if the Bad Guy is someone IN the government, and he uses his power to get eiji and max arrested for aiding and abetting a wanted fugitive (ash). and then ash has to rescue them... JAILBREAK STYLE

- also it might be cool to introduce ash's mom somewhere in this story... maybe SHE'S the villain! mwahaha *drama intensifies*

- anyways they will get saved by ash and gang bc that’s just the way things go, BUT! only on the condition they already made it out at least 80% of the way bc GODDAMN IT👏LET👏EIJI👏BE👏BADASS👏FOR👏ONCE👏

- (that is, after he overcomes the initial shock of ash possibly being dead again... again...... again............)

- there will ofc be moments of “oh my god, you’re okay” "i thought i lost you...!"

- something like this, because one can never have enough cheesy reunion scenes

- this will eventually lead to REVELATIONS (of the romantic kind, yes)

- buuuut they will never say "i love you" directly to each other bc ash is too emotionally constipated and eiji is too japanese. it's okay, they will communicate it through heated stares 👀

- i would love for there to be a scene where they have to be separated again for Plot Reasons and ash sorta hesitantly goes all "...will you wait for me?" as a direct parallel to canon!eiji's "i'll be waiting" and it’s like,

- FINALLY!

- FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! ash has finally allowed himself to ask for this, to let himself want it!

- and eiji would be like OF COURSE I WILL YOU BIG DUMMY, ALWAYS AND FOREVER

- but i think it'd be hilarious if eiji pops up while ash's in the middle of the final showdown and ash's like WTF I TOLD YOU TO WAIT FOR ME and eiji's like I WAS WORRIED OKAY YOU WERE TAKING SO LONG

- idk how this is supposed to end...

- oh wait! since the plot is government-related, maybe Someone will be able to pull strings to wipe out ash’s criminal record (past and present) and give him a brand new 100% legal identity, as thanks for his efforts? or maybe ash (or sing) just does it himself somewhere along the way LOL. anyway, he’ll be able to start over with a fresh clean slate and finally work on recovery FOR REAL NOW. yes this is a happy ending AND it didn’t require him to go to japan /flips off canon

- ...i realise it’s never going to be that simple but W H A T E V E R

- (also they probably will visit japan in the future with that shiny new passport... gotta meet the in-laws and all y’know)

- who do i gotta pay to write this cheesy self-indulgent fic for me
