So he's like "im not working for anyone."

and Dick is like "you have to be getting the info from somewhere. I just wanna help."

his gaze shifts from the oven towards you, eyes glinting in amusement. “yeah, i’m making cookies.” you state, sheepishly looking away from your boyfriend as he catches you eating the bits of leftover cookie batter from the bowl you’re holding. the striker hums, approaching where you are sat on the kitchen counter.

“wanna try some?” you ask with a smile, looking up at him as he stands in between your legs. how is he still almost a head taller than you even though you’re sitting on the counter is beyond your comprehension.

rin nods, making you dip a finger inside the bowl. the next thing that happens seems natural and almost instinctive for the both of you; rin wrapping his lips around your digit, tasting the batter on it.

hi!! i'm back lol - well, the craziness at work is done and I'm slowly getting back to writing bc I haven't written in like a week and it's killing me lol (this is gonna sound dramatic but I literally don't feel like myself if I don't write for too long haha) I don't have anything new to share rn, but I figured since it's already december and since some of y'all are sharing Christmas fics, and knowing I likely won't write one this year, I'm gonna shamelessly plug my holiday fake dating fic with 4 Christmases and 6 Christmas chapters actually 😂 (Christmas was a very important time for Buck and Eddie's relationship in this lol) - there's obvi more holidays in this but anyway, here's a snippet of their first Christmas together also, it's been a year since I posted the first chapter and I'm feeling nostalgic lol, this fic is my baby and I love it so much (tho there's so many things I'd change now lol)

Turns out, Buck is very much serious about the whole thing, and Christopher finds it hilarious and is eager to play along. Eddie doesn’t have valid arguments not to do it, and it’s not like he doesn’t want to. After another snide comment when talking to his parents, he made his decision. And he already felt this exciting feeling of satisfaction when he told them he’d be bringing someone for Christmas this year – miraculously, Buck and Eddie don’t work on Christmas, and they took an additional day off, so their schedules allow for a three-day trip to Texas. 

So now, it’s Christmas Eve and they’re on their way from the airport to Eddie’s childhood home, and he’s nervous, doubts just starting to seep in. What on earth possessed him to do this? He can’t lie to his family. He can’t pretend to be in love with Buck. What if he really does fall in love with him? What if everything goes to shit? He’s watched enough movies to know it’s a bad idea, but he couldn’t and still can’t bring himself to stop it.

“So.” Eddie says, his voice shaking slightly, as they sit in a cab. “We’re doing this.”

“Yep.” he can hear Buck grin next to him. “Unless you still wanna back out?” he adds quickly. They could still say Buck’s just a friend. No big deal. But Eddie does have this petty desire to stir something up, and this seems perfect. 

“No. It’ll be fine.” he smiles at Buck, and then feels hot when Buck grabs his hand and interlaces their fingers, winking at him. Christopher laughs.

“You’d make a great couple.” he comments. He’s been unusually happy about all of this. He also asked Eddie a few days ago if Eddie loves Buck, which prompted a conversation, but he thinks Chris knows what’s going on now. Eddie doesn’t really know what to think about that.

“Thanks, buddy.” Buck responds excitedly, squeezing Eddie’s hand, and he can’t contain a smile. If not anything else, at least all three of them are going to have a lot of fun.

During 1x05 when John B. and Kiara start slapping the mosquitos, The pogues involve all of each other In the activity, but it triggers JJ or he gets worried about the pogue's continual fighting

Barry or one of Luke's dealers has a problem with Luke and can't find him or smth and takes it out on JJ, maybe by beating him or badgering him for money - this could be REALLY dark, or simply hurt/comfort

JJ insults one of his friends on accident and has anxiety and regret over it - that's it, but I feel like you can do a lot with it, create different reactions, and display the inner workings of the pogue's relationships

A parallel to the Sarah and Kiara scene where they tricked them onto the boat to solve their fighting, what if Big John did the same thing when JJ and John B were having a huge fight as kids. I think that Big John is irresponsible enough to do it and the boys would be petty enough as kids to need it. Ik it was pope's idea, but I think it would be so cute to see the little pogues.

Barry going to attack JJ to get his revenge but ends up seeing him getting beat by a kook or smth and relating to him bc of when Ward beat him or smth in his past (even just the relation of kooks vs pogues). I think that the development and atmosphere of the fic would be interesting.

I would DIE for a fic abt when jj was little and his parents both were in love with each other (like only had eyes for eachother and had the rest of their life planned out together) and they were eating dinner or some other normal family things and his parents were talking about their dreams of moving to Yucatan, and that is one of jj's favorite moments with his family and he remembers that as his parents perfect dream (before drugs took over their life and they abandoned/abused him), sooo I think that that alone would be beautiful, or you could add how he always want to go to Yucatan to solve their problems, because he thought that Yucatan would solve his mom and dad's struggles. Ik this was confusing, but if you understand, this would be beautiful 🤩

This may be confusing, but in the seen where he fights back against his dad and has the wrench held up and says "well I ain't scared of you no more" what if his dad usednto threaten him with tools or if he really did, so jj is taking the high road or is just like having flashbacks or smth - this one is kinda stupid and a real stretch, but I feel like Luke could have hit jj with one of his tools bc jj interrupted his work or something. Idkkk y'all

This is more of a headcanon, but I love the idea of jj being named Jesse James after his mom (Jessica - her name isn't mentioned in the show) if you wanna make it a fic, it could be abt him being bullied for having a girls name and his mom comforting him or abt his dad telling him that he will never live up to her name - I read a fic (I don't remember the name, but it COULD have been 'mental Polaroids', but idk) and Luke was yelling abt jj having the same "fucking weepy-ass eyes' as his mom

i'm laughing irl because a lot of what you dislike about PoA is, i think, why i like it so much. it's sooooo petty!! so much of it is sooo low-level and dumb!! "lucius malfoy throws a pta parent bitchfit because his kid got bitten by some animal in an elective class literally the year after he set a giant murdersnake on the school to murder people, lucius wyd" is a major subplot! the inevitable yearly "snape is up to something dastardly this time we swear" plot gets nipped in the bud bc lupin's like "yeah no he's just giving me my meds, still hate the guy tho d'ya wanna see him in a dress again lmao"! there's time travel but only for the purpose of attending classes! "hermione's cat is collaborating with the alleged main villain" is also a major subplot somehow! hagrid, who got expelled at 13 or 14 and was in jail the previous year, is back and now a teacher! we don't even see the alleged main villain do magic, in a book about magic people at a magic school, until he's confirmed not to be a villain! even with the dementors the stakes are almost entirely personal! and this is right between the genuine horror plot that's CoS and the murder and worldbuilding extravaganza that's GoF! absolute literature, lol. (and tbh I think CoS was a little too dark for most of its target audience of middle schoolers, which may have contributed to how well-received PoA was? anecdotally, i've largely seen that people who read the books as they came out did not like CoS at the time, but liked it a lot more on rereading it as older teens/adults -- might have a biased sample though)

I'm still developing her out and figuring out her place in the plot, but She's special. I like her. Her theme song is No Children By The Mountain Goats like if that gives you enough of her vibe. but here's a couple bullet point facts off the top of my head.

She grew up poor. I'm not sure what her parents were doing/what her home life was like, but I don't think it was very good!

she got by on doing shitty little one man concerts in bars and stuff. any place that would let her play her guitar and sing. She met Ariel through this way (Theo flirted with Ariel first)

Was incredibly excited to marry into power and privilege with Ariel. She wasn't thrilled about having children, but she knew it was apart of ariel's duties or whatever

She wanted to pass on her love of music to one of her children, but bc of all the shit with Cassiel and then Cheating she kinda just gave up trying to engage with any of her children in a maternal way.

the only child she actually cares about is Cassiel. She pretty much ignores the other 3 (especially Raphael who she ALSO has normal feelings about looking so similar to Ariel)

Her and Ariel were genuinely in love when they were younger. Theo doesn't even look back at that time fondly though. She just chastises herself for being so stupid as to actually go through with any of this shit.

She's not getting a divorce with Ariel bc it would forfeit Theo AND cassiel's right to the Hellborn name and privilege. She would basically be cast out onto the slums, just now with her son. She's staying for Cassiel's sake and less for her own (Though she is also perhaps also doing it to torment Ariel a little bit. Just the tiniest bit of pettiness and revenge against Ariel for all the shit she did to Theo.)

this is a spoilery thing, but they're not going to reconcile. Their relationship is so severely fucked I don't think they can pick up the pieces even if they both genuinely gave it a shot. But at the point where they realize this about it, they've both come to accept that it just has to happen.

what if sebastian was in his dads custody after they got divorced. and later so robin and demetrius get together and have maru. but then suddenly his dad dies so he has to go live with robin. which fuels sebastians hesitance to get closer with demetrius because he was essentially thrown into seeing this guy he barely knew as his new dad when his JUST died and hes scared of getting close because he doesn’t wanna replace his OG dad so he comes up w petty reasons to hate demetrius… and demetrius recognizes this and decides to keep his distance bcs thats what sebastian looks like he wants and he wants to respect his son’s wishes!! but it just turns into a feedback loop of misunderstandings and maybe along the way demetrius recognizes this as well and is like hey, this is kind of not working, do you wanna talk? do you need help? but sebastian is stubborn and still doesnt like him… it explains why he doesn’t mention him in his dialogue since he honestly doesn’t know him that well but WISHES he did and he gushes about maru bcs duh ur child is interested in the same field of work u r how can u not be excited and ALSO shes a woman of color in the stem field so obvi she’s a fucking chad for that AND GUESS WHAT ELSE TIES INTO MY LIL HC SO seb doesnt like maru because he’s jealous that she still has her father figure in her life and that her life is perfect because her parents are still together, she’s smart and pretty and friendly and basically the Epitome of everything sebastian WISHED he had so ofc hes gonna be mean to her ab it and it also explains why its mostly one sided cuz maru wants to get close to him but sebastian is just bein a lil shit thinking emoji 🤔

Hi I started playing a game and it has taken over my life

This bitch. I hadn't even heard of it before today (well, yesterday) but now it's 5 am and I've played like 12 hours straight. I've already cried to it. I'm having the time of my life and it's SO hard to drag myself away from it, oh my fucking god

I wasn't expecting to get this invested in the characters. I'm rping in this something fierce. In the game you're following this kid from 10 to 20 years old while your community is setting up a settlement on a new planet, & all that entails. It does NOT play nice. Where I'm at, there are Six named characters who have died (bc im committed to not using guides for this first run). But that's like. The Point. It's a game about the dangers of such a place, but also the dangers of unchecked colonization, Depending on your choices. You have your childhood friends who grow and drift apart with conflicting viewpoints and everything. And it's up to you to decide how that turns out.

For me, I'm playing as a kid who wanted to be a biologist (looking up to their botanist parents), but due to the dangers of the world & the traumas that resulted, veered Hard into a more martial role. Every year since they were 10 years old, they've snuck out to fight in battles until they were finally old enough to have clearance to join them officially. They threw themself mind body and soul into exploration and resource gathering to do ANYTHING to help the needs of the colony (but even then, it wasn't enough).

And now they don't know what else to do. Traumatized, they've joined the new military bc it's the only way they can think of to have enough strength to get people to Stop Being Killed. But at the same time, they do still love nature and exploration (for the simple joy of exploration, not just resource gathering), so there's a part of them that knows This Is Wrong. But one of their childhood friends is Also throwing herself wholeheartedly into the military for very similar reasons to them (it's the loss, it's always the loss), while another friend is embracing nature wholeheartedly and protesting against the violence (& judging the first friend's choices Immensely). My character is conflicted between their wish to keep their friends and remaining family safe vs their persisting love of nature. And oh yeah, there's this new hotshot military guy that they just wanna make eat shit ALLLLLLL the time. Gotta train and be the best so that SOMEONE can show him up. They're absolutely thriving on being able to beat him in Anything martial. Which is perhaps a childish drive, but they're still only 15 where I'm at, So.

AND AT THE SAME TIME..........

They're childhood best friends with the local emo kid, who wants so badly to not be trapped here. He wants to be Free! In Nature! But he's also so very depressed For Reasons lol. So it turns into him trying to just walk out into the wilds without a care bc he doesn't care if he dies. And here's my character, falling in love with him (& he very much is with them, too) just trying to figure out what the Fuck they can do to help him. He straight up tried to run away at one point, I full on had a moment of "Oh god is this what naruto felt like when sasuke left?!?!" But he ended up caught lol. So he's still here. And still being Difficult despite my character having expressed that they care about him in a way that's Different than just friends. And so of course emo boy emotionally distances himself, bc what else would he do???? But since I'm playing a teenager and Well there's some new teens in town (one of which being the stupid military guy, who my character kinda just wants to punch). And one of them is very flirty and he invited my character to kiss over a card came, & that petty teenage soul angry about their childhood best friend/potential boyfriend being so DIFFICULT decides. Fuck it! Imma kiss him. And so they do lol.

But it didn't make the feelings go away and emo boy doesn't Know and if he did. Well. It's not like they're dating. Any of them, really. It was a stupid kiss between stupid teenagers, so it literally doesn't matter, but they kinda Do feel a little bit guilty about it.

But in the end, they're throwing themselves into their training with all their might bc the next attack is approaching and the last one went SO MONUMENTALLY WRONG that they just HAVE to be at the absolute strongest they can be. None of this matters in the face of their loved ones being at risk. They're 15 years old, they've watched so many people die, and they're not going to let stupid teenage drama get in the way of them protecting the people they DO have left! Including said stupid teenage boy, even if he is being dumb about it.

I'd say I'm like halfway through the game by this point. So very excited to see where it ends up. It's so fucking GOOOOOOOOD and yes it IS very gay and trans. You can change ur character's presentation and pronouns at any point. Effectively genderfluid, tho I'm keeping it on the nonbinary option of course. Also none of this teen drama even matters bc u can be poly in this game lol (which I am SO excited about) but it's fun rping a teen as a teen would be.

I haven't even met the immortal goth yet. Good chance I'll end up dating the goth And the emo. Should they both be open to the idea lol. And wouldn't that be just like me to do
