Abso-fucking-lutely vibing with World's Finest: Teen Titans' addition of Karen as one of the founding members.
Because good fucking god, before this the team was two demigods, two billionaire teens and a Normal Kid™ in neon yellow BUT NOW?! Now it's two demigods, two billionaire teens and TWO Normal Kids™ in neon yellow!
No but seriously though Wally is the only one who has to like... mow the lawn and watch his neighbor's cat when they go away for the long weekend. He's the only one who knows how to mail a letter at the post office and how much pencils cost at a book fair. He's got superpowers and terrible parents and yet somehow he is the MOST NORMAL ONE THERE.
Which speaks volumes about the rest of them tbh.
But now!!! Karen and Wally get to be nerds ✨together✨ and they get free tickets to watch the trainwrecks that the other Teen Titans call life
Seriously though I think these two are aggressively trying to be friends with each other while also roleplaying their 'cool guy' hero personas, which is extremely funny to me. These two are absolute nerds with no friends in school and they are DESPERATE for a friend and they've just met but they've both decided "Yeah that one. That one is friend shaped"
Wally: you move too slow
Karen: learn how to fly dumbass
Anyway I love them

back on the topic of eddie brock never being the first choice. crazy to me to think about the origin of the venom symbol which is that the symbiote Was With Spiderman First. the venom symbol is a slightly creepier version of the spiderman symbol with an extra bend in the legs cause it's the symbiote's best approximation of what it thought spiderman wanted. and when spiderman rejects the symbiote and venom shows up it's still the same suit just on a different person. the symbiote learned emotions from peter parker and it is angry and hurt at not being wanted but it stays in the form it thought he wanted... peter parker disarms eddie brock once by telling the symbiote that he wants it back and attacking once the symbiote starts to leave... eddie has such a hard time throughout the comics with the fact that the symbiote Will Leave Him if prompted by the right person. and be so honest. what would you do if you were eddie brock and no matter where you went or what you did there was a symbol that you were somebody else's second choice emblazoned across your chest

sally rooney is a marxist and has criticised, through her fiction, the treatment of books as aesthetic objects that are just seen as a commercial enterprise, to be bought, sold, and to look good on shelves and social media. it's just both quite funny and sad that you can pre-order special editions of her new book, and that when beautiful world where are you came out you could get limited edition bucket hats with the book's design on them. she is out here criticising capitalism in her work and her interviews and then her publishing company comes in, supposedly not having read anything she's written, just to provide a slice of delightful irony, or perhaps to prove her point.

ur niceness feels fake
This is such a wild anon because
generic hate for the things i draw is whatever, you all go in the garbage bin, but
I'm quite quiet online so I'm fascinated by *where* you've come from.
Regardless,
I regret to inform you that I generally Am Just That Sincere and that I do try to just be kind wherever I can - The world is nasty enough, I don't need to add to that
but also
If your response to niceness is to scrutinize it and doubt it, maybe evaluate your outlook?

If I were to say soft pain would you know what I mean?
If I were to ask to read a soft pain story, to live a soft pain story, to exist in a soft pain world, would you know what I mean?
Would you want to? No one likes pain. Soft pain doesn’t sound any better than what we have. What’s the different between pain and soft pain? Is there a hard pain?
Or do you understand what soft pain means? Do you understand the desire, the need to have soft pain? Do you understand the emotions that come with soft pain? When the Haiku bot responds not with an echo but with love? When a friend or ex moves on from you? The way it feels when a characters dies, but dies smiling and in love? Do you know what soft pain feels like? Do you know why I crave it?
Soft pain brings joy and smiles, tears and anguish. But it’s so much more than pain.
Soft pain is being rained on while walking home. Soft pain is missing the train and people watching to past the time. Soft pain is losing an award to your best friend. Soft pain is pain. But it’s so much more.
Soft pain is life. It’s how you live, how you die. It’s all the negatives of life, all the sobs yet all the smiles. Soft pain is not pain, because it’s so much more.
Or do you not understand what I’m saying? Soft pain is knowing that there are people who do not understand why I crave soft pain.
Because the world is so much more beautiful when I see the soft pain.
Because the world is beautiful.
Because the people are beautiful.
Yet I crave soft pain. Because I do not live in a world where the pain is soft.
I crave soft pain, because soft pain is not pain. It is not the pain I’ve lived my life in.
It’s so much more.

Just saw a TikTok complaining about fanfics that didn't have "enough dialogue" because "reading more than three sentences" was hard.
I'm not against heavy dialogue-oriented fics; they are fun, but... that's a script. You want to read a fucking script, hope you know that. A writer isn't "bad" because they are... you know, writing. Just say it isn't your thing and move on, but categorize something as "bad" because you lack the ability to fucking read... ain't the author's problem; it seems like a "you" one.
