The Diagnosis Of David

Disclaimer: I am by no means a mental health professional. This is just a meta-analysis.

What do we think of when we think of David?

His values of kindness. Optimism. Hope. Conviction. Passion. His drive to do his best every single day. The way he always makes an effort to reach out to others.

But also:

Attachment issues. People pleaser. Rose-colored glasses wearer. And at times, though the fandom doesn’t want to acknowledge it — Selfish. Unstable. Rude. Hypocritical. Kind of a dick.

He’s complex, so let’s try to unpack him, and figure out what he’s got going on under that floof.

On David’s Childhood

David has been through a number of traumatic events in his childhood, most notably:

Witnessing Jasper fall to his near-death.

Finding Jasper, and being almost mauled by bears during the escape.

Clown school was apparently very bad, given the flashback-like reaction he had when it was mentioned. I’m unsure of his age when this occurred, however.

The fight with Jasper at the cave before they parted ways.

Losing Jasper. He says Cameron told him he was picked up by his parents, but I’m not convinced it’s not just his mind trying to erase painful memories.

As far as what we don’t necessarily see in the show, but can infer, David’s father was either not present or not great. He dreamt Cameron was his real father, as seen below.

And we all know Cameron is an awful father figure to begin with.

Yet, that’s better to David, apparently, than whatever he had at home. Which implies it was likely a pretty bad situation.

This can also be backed up by his attachment to the camp — growing up (and even now) it seems to be more of a home to him than his actual home.

That’s a home that hasn’t ever been mentioned, by the way. Contrary to Gwen, we know absolutely nothing about his family. He hasn’t talked about them once, if I recall correctly.

David is often open with emotions, if not wearing his heart on his sleeve. So why would he never mention his family and home?

We know why.

Even as an adult, he has retained this attachment to Cameron (who has in turn, continued to use this attachment to his benefit). He gets very excited about helping Cameron change in “keep the change” — because he needs to believe people who hurt him can get better. Otherwise, it’s too painful to bear.

The Loss Of Jasper

Part of his childhood, but significant enough to warrant its own section.

Jasper and David had a very interesting relationship. We’ve seen in the past that David was pessimistic, foulmouthed, and hot-tempered, directly compared to an optimistic, peppy, popular Jasper.

But then Jasper saw Cameron’s real self, and David received a modicum of praise for what was likely the first time based on his reaction. And so, they basically did somewhat of a switcheroo.

(David takes on many traits of Jasper after this experience, showing that he does admire him at the end of the day. I believe these traits are the foundation of David’s many masks.)

Despite the whole shebang, further episodes show us that they form a strong bond (or maintain one, we don’t know what happened before the first Jasper and David episode.)

What makes this friendship especially crucial in David’s development is that I believe Jasper was the first person to truly stand up for David.

David is, as we have seen, easily manipulated. Jasper picks up on this, and knowing Cameron’s just trying to use his best friend, tries to take Cameron down.

Jasper essentially died trying to protect David.

If Jasper hadn’t died, I don’t think David would have ended up as gullible and dependent as he is. If he had the more rational and realistic Jasper by his side during the rest of his developmental years, I believe things would have ended up much, much differently.

With Jasper’s death, there seems to be nobody else at camp who knows of Cameron’s crimes, or possibly, doesn’t want to speak out about them. Nobody to stand up for him. Nobody to redirect him.

So there’s nobody to stop the unhealthy-attachment-train from picking up speed.

Cameron And David’s Relationship

Cameron is manipulative and abusive towards David. This even becomes physical:

Despite this, David continues to idolize him as is seen in many cases of abuse. He works his ass off maintaining Cameron’s camp. Cameron’s approval makes or breaks him, because this is the man he sees as a father, unfortunately.

In addition, David is unable to let go of the hope that Cameron can change, because he’s convinced himself that deep down Cameron is still “good”, based on his skewed perception of him. And we all know how that ended.

But as Diane from Bojack Horseman once said —

And that is David’s problem — he wants so much for there to be a “deep down”, that there will be a day where Cameron showers him with praise and throws signed adoption forms at him, etcetera.

He judges Cameron not on who he actually is, but who he wants him to be. And so, the unhealthy attachment remains.

(Which is, of course, incredibly destructive to his mental health.)

Other Things We Know About His Mental Health, From Canon

We know he takes meds.

We know he has (sometimes dissociative) panic attacks.

We know he has been seen to suddenly snap, even to the point of violence.

My Final Conclusion: C-PTSD

(As the trauma has been not just one event, but many over the course of his life, and among other reasons, I believe CPTSD fits better than PTSD.)

David meets much of the criteria, most notably:

Lack of emotional regulation

Dissociation

Flashbacks

Anxiety

Guilt and shame

Distorted perception of abuser

For the manhwa au (no it didn’t take me so long to send this ask because I had to figure out how to spell that shut up 🙈), we’ve heard a lot about the trio and a bit about Rook, Vil, and Leona.

But I want to hear about Yuu’s friendship with Riddle, Ace, Deuce, Ortho, and Idia!!! We haven’t really touched on them at all!

We heard from Ace and Deuce that Riddle was less of a hardass over at Yuu’s place, Ace and Deuce were ready to punch Jamil when delivering his letter for him got them thrown out of Yuu’s place, and apparently Idia cares enough about Yuu to yell at Azul, but I want to know more about their relationships!

They are obviously very close to her. Gimme the platonic love pls. 💜🥺

Ok! So in terms of Riddle, he was actually just as bad at first but Yuu is pretty blunt as a child, plus she's got the brain of a 20yo also packed in with her 8yo mind. She brings up the fact that this is HER HOUSE, so her rules and her rules state you have to have a bite of tart during tea parties. Not...not the sad cracker veggie sandwiches that his mom made him bring.

Riddle starts to really love being over Yuu's house because he can be free in his own little ways. He can have tarts, he can have as much honey in his tea as he wants. Yuu lets him borrow her overcoats so they can roll down a hill together. He gets to be a KID!

Ace and Deuce like being at Yuu's house because she treats them fairly. Riddle's other noble playmates all see them as merely servants, they're just like...bonus playmates to Yuu. They also know what Riddle's home life is like, they've tried to make it bearable. But Riddle only feels worse when they take blame for things and have to serve his punishments. Which is WHY they reacted so aggressively when Jamil's letter gets them kicked out of Yuu's home. Its the one place they can all just be friends and not have to worry about Riddle's mom punishing them for that.

Idia heard about Yuu for the longest time from Azul, who, due to his own misjudments, saw her as this purely malicous person. But when she's just...a person, he calms down. She's kinda mean, sure, but so is he, so is Azul. She also inherited Crewel's intimidating stare (resting bitch face).

Idia started info dumping when Yuu asked about a book he had brought to their lessons. He realizes hes been talking for like a WHILE and apologies and tries to hide away. Yuu very bluntly tells him, "I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to know and I would have told you to shut up if I got bored." And Idia realizes that Yuu is painfully simple and that's...probably why Azul had a hard time seeing her for what she was.

Ortho is a wild card because (new development) due to some traumatic childhood incident, he's been bedridden since he was basically a toddler. He's on the mend, slowly, but his parents are still very concerned about his wellbeing and don't let him leave the house, and rarely his room.

He and Yuu become friends because during her and Idia having lessons, Yuu started sending Idia home with a book she thought Ortho would like. Idia had started out reading them to Ortho, but then, as he got better, Ortho was able to hold the books himself. He even starts to write reviews that he has Idia deliver to Yuu. They lowkey make a little book club.

Yuu and Ortho meet officially on Yuu's 19th birthday party and they are elated to finally hug each other.

no child experiments. no kinderheim 511. their birth sequence would be Johan first, Anna second, and Nina the youngest. it doesn't actually materialize that much in their dynamics (given they're triplets) except that these two oldest are oooooover overprotective of nina. mama vera was forced to labor the three of them prematurely out of stress upon receiving the news of her husband's death. her brother-in-law, klaus poppe, who had helped vera with the kids after the hubby's death, tried to pursue her not long after. and not only that, klaus also tried to lure anna into this silly lil experiment about children which he claimed was for 'work' at the red rose mansion all the while their mother was out. vera almost killed the man when baby johan exposed him while crying. this event led vera to cut ties with the poppe family and valiantly raised her triplets on her own. vera wasn't able to squeeze any info out of anna (on what poppe had done to her specifically while she was out). worried that she might be traumatized, vera got her into therapy. in the end, only johan and anna knew of it, and whatever happened sure left wounds deep inside anna's heart.

would be sooooo villanelle-coded (minus the psychopathy of course). like she is the Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss but at the same time she could also be the Female Rage™️. i am absolutely whipped at the thought that she'd have a complicated relationship with johan despite being inseparable during childhood because she's astute enough to know the real him, without filter whatsoever, and she could notice things the naive nina couldn't. no, johan didn't have to be a murderer in this universe for anna to hate him, he just got The Attitude that anna despises. it's jus the typical sibling fight though no worries. it's like there's this modern family-esque interview segments of them talking shit about each other every episode (little do they know, if a war ever breaks, they would absolutely sacrifice themselves to save each other — of course after ensuring their youngest sister's safety first and foremost).

in @suusoh 's head which i claim to be the same as mine because susu is rie and rie is susu, anna is as queer as she could be. and, in my silly lil daydreams, she actually labeled herself queer for clout bc she wanna rebel against societal standards only for it to end up the truest thing she had ever said about herself years later. on top of that, she actually envies her twin brother for having a dick like oh my god girl what the hell is wrong with you. ironically, she tends to be an absolute man-hater sometimes (depends on her mood). she could be a little impulsive, too, especially when she reached the rebellious age. boyfriends here, girlfriends there, and out of curiosity she even tried polygamy that's absolutely not her thing but she did anyway to annoy her conservative christian stepfather.

there's this only moment anna had accepted johan's attitude, remorsefully so, and thats when some girl tried to maul nina at uni (thank god she's good at judo) after mistaking her as anna ㅜㅜ this stranger apparently had her boyfriend stolen by anna during one of her impulsive moments (jesus christ). nina assured them it was all good after anna cried. but johan was absolutely pissed, and anna had a hard time forgiving herself for putting her loveliest babiest angel of a sister in danger bc of her shenanigans.

who is he, indeed, if red rose mansion wasn't that traumatic and kinderheim 511 never existed ? it's also hard to imagine for me, tbh, it's just that i think he'd be a chill lil guy who lives in his own head. nina has a hard time managing countless of confessions from different people in the campus—you see, anna is too wild to approach, johan is too absent-minded to care, and nina is the most amicable of them three. when nina opens her locker she'd expect a bunch of love letters addressed to three people: anna, johan, and then herself. majority of them is addressed to johan, tho.

if anna takes pride in her beauty and charisma while nina takes pride in her congeniality and physical prowess, johan keeps up with his brains. he is constantly the school's top one. he gets sent to other campuses for academic competitions. and back in highschool, a faculty even offered vera to have him accelerated due to his intelligence. johan denied the opportunity because he likes the fact that he's on the same grade level as his twin sisters. they have this sort of bonding where they do homeworks together as soon as they reach home. how would he do that if he's accelerated to a higher grade level? who would help nina manage anna's wild tendencies at school? who would help anna keep up with her acads if nina's too busy with her extracurricular activities?

vera is quite concerned johan is having a hard time connecting with people, but little does she know, her lil boy just doesn't want to. socializing is a chore the same way studying is. unless he has an ulterior motive, he chooses to stay at the corner with his books (boo. bummer. a nerd.)

is their cute lil baby! she's everyone's favorite. i think her personality in canon monster (before her 20th bday) is pretty much the same in this one, except that it's more chaotic in her house because she has two sibs trying to kill each other here and there. if not for her extracurricular activities and side jobs (which johan and anna tirelessly demanded her to quit so she could have a rest, only to no avail because nina is the angel who wants to help), i think her academic excellence would be in par with johan's. she also has a lot of friends—that's the reason why johan and anna are protective of her. she could indeed defend herself physically, but she's too kind and naive for her own good it annoys the two. if someone makes her cry, they doubt nina would even put them in their place physically or emotionally because she is just that kind—that's when johan and anna enters behind her back. they could be sneaky little vengeful devils if need be for nina. maybe they got it from uncle klaus.

As expected, that Tanizaki really was a illusion of his ability, which he apparently activated when Kunikida was attacked by the divine being last chapter.

Even though this is a really popular theory in the fandom i didn't expect it to be real (i always thought they were weird due to some childhood trauma or something like that), nor that it would be revealed at a time like this, but is good to know that they weren't actually incestuous.

The Tanizaki siblings have always been characters that intrigued me, and i really hope their story can be explored further after the end of this arc. Apparently, not even Naomi herself knows about her own origin, considering that Tanizaki wrote a note about it and left it well hidden, and now he asked Atsushi to pick it up and, from what the manga implied, give it to Naomi, so she could knew about his family in case he died there. Which makes me wonder how important or dangerous her real family might be, and that maybe that's the reason why Tanizaki has always been so overprotective of her, along with his somewhat violent personality.

I haven't read The Makioka Sisters and Naomi, so I won't comment too much because I'll end up saying something that doesn't make any sense at all.

I REFUSE TO COMMENT ABOUT HIS DEATH. No, no, no, i won't talk about it.

I know that these death will probably be undone, and that they are happening more to show how a real battlefield is, even with ability users, to make Atsushi feel completely alone again, until Akutagawa finally arrive and the two fight against Ame-no-gozen, but it doesn't change the fact that characters i like a lot are being turned into BUBBLES AND EATEN BY THIS ELDRITCH GOD!!

We got Kenji and Tetchou back but at what cost.

Kenji is just so happy to be able to help his friends. He doesn't even care if he's going to die, because Atsushi is going to live, and that's enough for him. He tells Atsushi to move on while he dies, beacuse he knew Atsushi needed to go somewhere safe!! THIS IS A FOURTEEN YEAR OLD TEENAGER, HE SHOULD BE AT SCHOOL, NOT AT WAR!!

And Atsushi is so desesperate due to the fear of the divine being and the pain of seeing his friends diyng in front of him that i want to give him a hug.

Literally the only good thing in this chapter was finding out that Lucy and Kyouka are fine, traped, but fine. At least they're not dead.

Leaving the negative feelings aside, we FINALLY had an interaction between Fyodor and Atsushi! If we don't have explanations about Atsushi's past and powers in the next chapters I'm going to go crazy. I know this will be traumatic for Atsushi, but Fyodor knows more about his powers than Atsushi himself, and I think it's time we know more about him, especially the connection between him and the book.

alberto rant

In the midst of a pandemic, major traumatic events, and also being 13 and grieving the loss of childhood, this movie was so incredibly special to me. The first time I watched it I was in my aunts old house, the one my uncle had died in about a week prior.The growing pains were big and large and this movie was a blanket that surrounded me. The movie of an endless summer in italy, all things we couldn’t achieve at that point!! And, my number one favorite character emerged from this movie.

This was all I associated myself with in middle school, i was loud, i was free. Alberto became a character I really attached myself to. I still think he’s one of my favorite characters to this day.

Alberto is loyal, kind, and fearless. Everything a 14 year old is. But he’s also complex. Like how all 14 year olds feel. He’s a fish, and he has some skeletons in his closet. Also has attatchment issues(another 14 year old issue)

I’ve tried desperately to see people talk about him, looking up vidoe essays on youtube, tumblr, any fanfiction site i can get my hands on. It’s all there, but it’s about LUCA. and i could not resent the people in this fandom enough for this. sure , i’ve seen a few theories here and there. but no real good nitty gritty deep dive into a KIDS MOVIE character . yea guys DO BETTER

I’ve seen countless character studies on Luca and how he grows throughout the story. While interesting, it still isn’t alberto to me. And it portrays the exact opposite of what luca is about, in a way, these two push and pull eachother out of dangerous sea for eachother, all simply because they found a friend, all simply because they needed a friend. and didn’t know what else to do with it all. The main pusher is Beto. He always pushes and shoved, luca falls away slowly, but surely. In big gusts does Alberto move. And that’s exactly why I enjoy him too much.

The characterization of this movie is blatant. Every character trait is told in their words, almost like they are made to say it; they hand every shocking truth out for you and leave nothing for the imagination. I see this with all of them. But i see the most in alberto

and it’s not even blantant, tvey created his life and move tn to perfection so that even when he’s not being focused on, you see everything he thinks and feels in an abstract way. He’s watching Luca for half of this show. in a simple story line way, prequsite, rushing action, climax, falling action, aftermath. Hes is a perfect example of simplicity at its finest. He’s just enough, with some waves and a tail to be enough and more.

we know alberto’s motives; to be good, and to be loved. in this order because it’s step one and two for him. We see this mindset emerge in ciao alberto the most, for a parental role. It’s apparent in the movie too, he is un caring, then he clicks, when that love is not retuned, he pulls again. Issues ensue.

This is what makes his character so sad. We see him fall always. And get up in the hands of the ones who pushed him down. Thats love, right? that’s all he knows, more than what he knows. He’s left waiting endlessly. And he’s left fighting endlessly.

In the revile fight scene where Alberto gets beat up, this is a reflection of what he’s feeling. Unwanted, worthless, and Loosing. Luca makes a poor attempt to fight back and it wins, just like how they become friends again. He gets up again. Better and ready to fight. This is the rising action to Alberto’s mind.

The climax is the long awaited betrayal. This betrayal only comes once, but the feeling doenst. When Luca cried sea monster that’s when we fell into Alberto, and not just the snide comments he makes. We’ve seen him fall back from Lucas mind in priority and then we see him fall down to the sea and far from porto rosso. It’s especially sad when the harpoon is thrown. Where he let it happen. HE WOUDLVE LET IT HAPPEN.

There’s a certain blank space in Alberto’s character. That’s his past. The tower scene where it’s revealed his father’s been gone is the intense we feel in this seemingly basic storyline. Left with questions, who is his father? where is his mother? how has he been surviving? What does he feel. The shift on support switches from luca to Alberto fast. And Luca realizes he shouldn’t let friend down so easily.

Alberto’s tower scene is meticulously placed for us to feel more connected to him. And that imagination left to the kid helps you sympathize more, any way you like. He’s one of the best side kicks for this reason. This deep heavy feeling you feel with Alberto as he falls to the bottom of the ocean in lonely grief of loosing. He lost. Again! Fish who called sea monster! We all feel like we’re losing, we all feel like Alberto, tirelessly running for something, someone, anything.

Watching Jin in The Last Immortal made me think of Xiao Yao and Cang Xuan in Lost You Forever. More specifically how they are all adult survivors of childhood abandonment for a cause and how it affects them permanently.

Xianxia is such a high fantasy setting and usually deals with such larger than life situations (either world-saving or romantic.) Characters always die for the world or get doomed for love or whatever. And it’s great fun to watch. A xianxia done right is a rare pleasure.

But I love that two very different dramas this year actually take a different tack of sorts - they go, it’s great you saved the world/died for love/averted calamity etc etc but what happens to those left behind especially when said person is a child?

If you think about it, Xiao Yao, Cang Xuan and Jin are all characters who were abandoned by all those who were supposed to love them as children and it wasn’t because their parents/caretakers were bad people. It’s because none of the adults in their lives ever put the children first - they put saving the country (XY’s mom), saving the world (Jin’s dad), or true love (CX’s mom and Jin’s mom) over the children and the dramas go - well that’s great but it fucks the kids up.

If you are devoted to a cause, whether it’s an idea or a person, it makes you a failure to those not encompassed by that cause.

It doesn’t even have to be a cause that doesn’t take the kid into consideration. Xiao Yao’s father abandoned her out of a desire to protect her. But the fact remains is, she was abandoned and as she puts it in one of the dialogues - all the adults in her life, all the ones who loved her, had reasons for abandoning her but it was still abandonment.

I mean, if you look at Xiao Yao, as a result of her abandonment, she really cannot be in a healthy relationship - she can allow Cang Xuan in because he’s family and she cared for him before her world imploded but even with him I think she doesn’t expect him to be around forever. And as to a romantic relationship - she doesn’t even want a codependent one, because codependency implies a degree of reciprocity. What she wants is someone to depend on her while she is not as involved. As she puts it, she wants a man who would put her first and only, over any cause, or any family or anything. If you think about it, she falls for a man who has been disassembled by torture to a completely basic level and rebuilds his desires and his entire identity around her and he ultimately still fails her test by the end of LYF1.

And there is Cang Xuan. Whose father was killed in battle which is traumatic but then whose mother kills herself over his father’s grave, leaving her small child an orphan in a den of wolves with only “when you are an adult, you will understand.” No surprise - no he does not, and grows as fucked up as XY or more. If XY is willing to open to love even if in a dysfunctional format (and eventually she heals enough that she actually does get a happy ending in terms of love though she loses a lot on the way; the ending is a mixed one in terms of sweetness), CX is not at all - he believes he’s unworthy of love and incapable of receiving it properly. The fact that the sole woman he loves is XY, his cousin, also the one person around him who he knew before his life went to hell, and even with her he doesn’t really try to pursue her for a long long time even as she falls in love with someone else or gets engaged to yet another man - is proof of his damage. By trying to live her grand doomed romance and screw anyone else even her own son, his mother ensured her son will never have a proper love of his own.

And how with The Last Immortal we see the same effects with Jin. TLI is a kinder narrative and the ending of the drama is supposed to be happy for him (unlike the novel apparently) and Jin himself is not as closed off as the cousins in LYF, but he is so very clearly damaged by abandonment - his refusal to seek responsibility or come into his power, his deliberate goal of making his life as meaningless as possible are all the results of his dad liking the world more than his family and his mom liking his dad more than anyone and anything else.

All three of these characters are adults and capable ones at that but the damage lingers and lingers. And I find it so fascinating in a high fantasy setting.

These are narratives of those left behind on a grand heroic quest and that is something you rarely see done.

Out of a desperate attempt to scrape out a space where he belongs, feels safe, and gets what was denied to him. ...He does not succeed at this and instead racks up an impressive body... not that anyone would believe it for a long time on account of all the aforementioned gaslighting

ancient Chinese equivalent of an underpaid retail worker. also the illegitimate son of a powerful sect leader, who rose to power and became leader of that very sect while murdering all the people who have ever wronged him along the way. with a manipulative smile and a knack for looking like a pitiable weakling, he participated in the genocide of an entire sect to earn his father's approval, he led on his best friend in order to better solocit his protection, and he tricked this same best friend into murdering their third friend for revenge. he also used sex workers to kill his shitty father AND murdered his own son, and then played the mourning son/father facade to perfection. right up until the moment he gets stabbed to death and everything falls apart is he relentlessly manipulative, dishonest, and corrupt.

I hate this man but his entire life is him gaslight gatekeep girlbossing. He made it to the top by killing, lying, torturing etc. all while smiling and acting like the sweetest thing since sugar. Yotsuyu goe Brutus was treated like shit her entire life and girlbossed as hard as she could as revenge (more detail below). Her response to an extremely shitty childhood and early life was to become a spy for the Garlean Empire, which was occupying her home country, Doma, and apparently be good enough at that that she ended up as basically in charge of the country (as the dude from the empire who was actually in charge could not give less of a shit about governing--sorry Zenos fans, but it's true). Having harbored a lifelong hatred for her countrymen, she took advantage of her position to make them suffer--the player first sees her in a scene where she's trying to force a man to prove his loyalty to the Empire by shooting his own parents, for example. Later, when the player character has allied with the Doman resistance and confronts Yotsuyu in a decisive battle, she begins to dump her traumatic backstory… in order to delay her death long enough that she can bring a building down on the player character and other people important to the resistance, including the rightful heir to the Doman throne. She seemingly dies when the building collapses, but later comes back with amnesia, having completely forgotten her past and all the atrocities she committed. A significant amount of time is spent trying to figure out if this is a trick, because she would do that, but it turns out that's actually what happened… at least until her brother shows up and forces her to remember her past by re-introducing her to her shitty abusive parents. Newly herself, but now feeling guilty for the war crimes, she kills her shitty abusive parents and summons a primal (a godlike being) inside herself to either re-take Doma or die. The latter ends up happening, perhaps not surprising given the number of primals that the player character has personally slain, but saves the last of her strength to murder Asahi and thus dies with her need for revenge fully sated.

his mother's reputation is blemished, with him being the stain, and she assures he acknowledges his fault. she still coddles him in moments of sobriety that catch mel offguard, and he never trusts anyone to be kind to him again after those moments. his father doesn't bother looking at him when he's seperated from mel's mother to rule the underground colonies. his older sister tries to help, but mel is too embittered by the fact that she has everything he doesn't to accept it. he chases away any dragons who wish to be his friends with his aggressive behaviorisms, believing he's proving to himself and the world that he was right all along because no one sticks with him in the end, believing that it was meant to be regardless of how good or bad he chose to behave.

he lives his entire childhood in a shroud of emotional solitude, channeling his accumulated rage into something he believes is worth trying to work at. if he can't do the things others around him can, then he'll be so good at the things he can do that it blows everyone else out of the water. he's doing this for attention, and he knows it, but he chooses instead to believe he's doing it for the sake of revealing the truth about the world to everyone around him. his mom won't look him in the eye, and he's fine with that -- it's always been the case anyways.

he's desensitized to death already, being raised in dragon society that still performs brutal executions on the regular does that. training comes easy to him, being gifted with incredible physical prowess and the determination to further those abilities bumped him up to the top of his class, as well as inflating his ego a great deal. he can do something, he can finally do something that others can't and he's overjoyed to let the world know.

so he does. he kills his classmate in cold blood, using techniques he had made himself to beat the dragon in aerial combat and leave their corpse mangled among the pointed stones below his resting-tower. he's not discreet, they find it, but he's such a good liar that everyone believes it was in self defense. they see, even after such a supposedly traumatic experience, he's raring to go.

he gets his wish -- his mother notices. he is allowed to participate in the awakening trials. he swallows his bitterness over the fact he's not even allowed to prove himself because they skip all of the soul-magic trials in favor of booting him to the last round, and for that he's grateful.

he completes his trial, a fight to the death against a crystal copy of himself. he is abhorblooded. no one knows what that means, not even mel. but he's finally got something of his own, something he alone can cherish. he's clawed his way to the top and can see the tips of the mountains grazing the clouds from above.

the ensuing eruption of chaos from the koboreals sends his mother into a frenzy, and he's forced into lockdown. a too-young koboreal with too-hot fire and too-bloodied claws for someone his age has gotten a power that no one in the kingdom has ever seen before, no one in recorded history has ever seen before. they fear him, his mother fears him, and even deep down some part of mel fears himself. the outrage is too great for him and he decides upon taking time to himself, away from the dragons who know too much.

he does unspeakable things, now free from the restraints of the dragons who feared him. smoke fills his head, whispering to him things that he swears are words, but he doesn't think too much about it, even when it clouds his vision too, turning it red with blood.

basically i think the reason seaskimrs in trout's era have weak magic is because of how magic has been dwindling. because the awakening trials are what channels the power of one's soul into their abilities, mel HAD no well to drink from... so he had to make a well of his own, which is where his vampirism comes from. he forces draco to get it too by manipulating her into performing the awakening trial, and by extension oryx. and over the course of this time, all of them have taken so much magic from so many souls that what TROUT does is LITERALLY SUCK MAGIC FROM PEOPLES SOULS UNINTENTIONALLY... but she already has so fucking much stored in her soul. and the gimmick with trout's era is that . BECAUSE their magic is so weak...they channel all of their soul power into a physical entity, usually a weapon, and bond themselves to that item.

and because trout's soul is so fucking full to the brim with magic, her weapon is near world-ending levels of destructive. instead of trout herself being able to shapeshift (also an abhorblooded gift,) her weapon is... and BECAUSE ITS APART OF HER SOUL... oryx can speak to her through it.

speaking of oryx, i think oryx being a doctor is funny because he's. got no magical abilities. so he does everything the old fashioned way (or rather new fashioned way because they always used healing magic until oryx came along) and has written dozens upon dozens of books that have helped countless of seaskimrs during trout's era.

In Defense of Hira - A textbook case of C-PTSD caused by Childhood Abuse and Neglect

In a lot of the shows that I watch, especially with teens or young adults relating to trauma, or any genre really, there’s always a playful question on my mind: where are their parents? However, at this point in show, it’s becoming so much more apparent that the lack of support Hira received growing up, is fundamental to the way that he sees himself and his position in the world around him. So much so that as much as I want to joke about Hira being as dense as a stone wall, I find myself becoming increasingly uncomfortable in how much my own trauma and reactions to isolation mirror Hira’s.

Symptoms of complex PTSD

Feelings of worthlessness, shame and guilt.

Problems controlling your emotions.

Finding it hard to feel connected with other people.

Relationship problems, like having trouble keeping friends and partners. (Source: NHS)

How was Hira Traumatized?

He was left to his own defenses at an early age and had to fend for himself. Just because they provided him with a house and money for food doesn’t mean they took care of him. He was also bullied for a speech impediment and isolated by his peers as a result. He’s probably never had anyone listen to him closely or had close emotional or physical relationships in his life. Extended periods of neglect in childhood and then more intense isolation later on is extremely damaging.

Trauma manifests differently. Before therapy, it was really difficult for me to wrap my head around the fact that I wasn’t actually invisible to friends and family. It took a quite aggressive and embarrassing event, (now funny and touching really) for me to understand that if I deviated from my own patterns or if I disappeared or didn’t contact people for hours that people would actually miss me or think about me. I went out and watched a movie after an event, and told one person through text. After the two hour movie, I turned my phone back on and found 30 missed calls. My mother had informed me that she had called the police and that the principal had formed a search party for me. My face was plastered all over Snapchat by my classmates.  I was mortified by what I believed to be a waste of resources and time on my behalf. Such a loud display of love and even then all I could think about was hiding away and making myself smaller. I wasn’t even decent enough to acknowledge the pain, worry, and fear they felt at the thought that someone they loved went missing. It took multiple years later: a very a tentative mother and aunt, very involved teachers, mentors and friends plus therapy for me to stop feeling like a ghost. To get out of my own head and stop trying to fade in the background as a coping mechanism. After being abandoned by his mother to live alone in a house so she could be with the family she wants, after being isolated by his classmates for having a stutter all throughout high school, only one person knocked loudly enough at the door attached to the fortress Hira built in his mind to cope with his trauma. Kiyoi.

That mental fortress is why Hira is alive today. It kept him safe when he had to sleep in the dark alone as a young boy when he had to cook his own meals. His social ineptitude is due to years of isolation and degradation by those around him. He wasn’t deemed worthy enough by his own mother to be taken care of. Yet Kiyoi loves and sees him. Kiyoi says his name and holds his hand and kisses him and suddenly Hira is solid mass. Not a shadow on the wall or the useless child not worth keeping. He becomes slightly more than nothing. In Hira’s mind he becomes a pebble. Sigh. Well it’s a start. But it’s not enough. It’s gonna take a real miracle for Hira to overcome years of trauma and see himself as a human being. I believe in him though. He’s so brave. No like really though, some of the shit he says is so cringey it takes real guts. Kiyoi is not going to give up on Hira anytime soon he’s too much of an exhibitionist for Hira and a freak (endearingly). Also, Hira is obsessive and intense, so they’re a perfect match.

He just needs proper counseling and a bit of time. I’m rooting for them.

For 15, I don't THINK it's these, but have similar elements, so maybe, or at least interesting? I forget the name, but there's one fic where wwx and lz never met before the war, and wwx and the lans insist on an arranged marriage between him and a main clan member after the war (they live on burial mounds, not quite a sect kinda big household vibes) to kinda legitimize themselves to protect their people, thinking anyone sent by the clans to the "evil" yllz must be abused/not valued, so they'd actually be saving someone from a bad situation and into a married in name only respected guest situation. Only they get lz instead. Lxc is very worried for awhile thinking lz must be getting abused meanwhile yllz is a masked but perfect gentleman who proves to be a kind dedicated family leader/lord of the area and lz becomes sympathetic/supportive and ends up falling HARD for him and adores ayuan

17. Hi, can you help me find these fics? I've been going crazy! They were on ao3; I hope they haven't been deleted!

A) I think wwx was a ghost, & found himself at the Cloud Recesses in the aftermath of lwj's punishment. Lwj was in bad condition and almost died (a couple of times?) Eventually there was some sort of ritual to bring wwx back into a physical body, & he was in the adjoining room bc he was also very weak. (NB: this is not the fic where wwx is actually astral projecting from Baoshan Sanren's mountain, it's a different one).

B) Lwj stayed at the Burial Mounds, & his health was very poor, he kept getting very sick quite often. At one point there was an epidemic in Yiling; some of the Wens died, and then they went to go help in the town bc of their medical knowledge. Lwj had to stay separate bc of his fragile health; he had to tend the fields alone and he couldn't attend the funerals.

Not to overshare and trauma dump but I just very randomly remembered something that explains a lot about me lmaaooo (I’m not actually that traumatized by it I don’t think but it’s awful)

When I was little, my mom babysat a loooot of kids. This one was a little creep, let’s call him Nelson. (I deeply hate him to this day) and I remember very specifically one day, I was standing just outside our front door with him and another kid named Brandon (whose mom had come to pick him up) and I remember it happening very vividly.

I was watching my mom talk to this lady at the door and it was hot outside and Nelson was so loud and annoying. Like he was just the type of kid that could make you uncomfortable in seconds. But I wasn’t brave enough to tell my mom how much I hated him at the time. It would come up later, after a couple of breaking points.

But anyway, I remember just wanting to go back inside and watch cartoons and very suddenly, I saw him walk into my field of vision with a fucking hammer. An honest to god hammer? And I remember being so confused on why he had it and where he’d gotten it from and why he was laughing. and he just sort of…hit this Brandon kid in the head with it? Like hard as fuck. He just swung it right at this poor kid. Right in front of me. Brandon started bleeding profusely immediately, all down his face. I’ve never seen my mom freak out so fast. He’d gotten it out of my dads tool box on the front porch and my mom was so worried we’d get into trouble (and yeah, he shouldn’t have had access to it but he was old enough to know better) and he was laughing ten seconds before all this, so like.

Brandon’s mom was actually very nice about it. Apparently the cut wasn’t as deep as all the blood but I’m sure it left a scar. She took him to the ER and he had to get stitches for it.

I haven’t seen either of them since. Which is good because Nelson was a terrible person who caused me a lot of pain and damage.

So i did write down some of my jjk fic ideas in this post (though I've come up with more since then. I have. problems) and I do kinda want to sit on a lot of the actual details so they won't be spoiled if I ever end up writing them. that being said, I'm well aware I have nowhere near the time to write most of them and have a lot of ideas that i find delightful that will never otherwise get out there, and I like sharing them. They give me delight and I hope they give you delight as well. So below the cut are a random assortment of details from various fic ideas that may, but probably won’t, see the light of day. Avoid the cut if you want to avoid all potential spoilers from fics that may happen in the future (but again probably won’t).

Megumi and the worlds most inconvenient custody battle au:

There’s more details in the linked post above, but in short, this one involves middle school megumi making a desperate binding vow with Geto suguru to give cult life a whirl in exchange for him sparing the lives of Megumi’s classmates, because Geto had to pick his school to commit domestic terrorism in.

Anyway it’s a huge inconvenience and results in a lot of his now traumatized classmates finding out that Fushiguro Megumi, resident delinquent, was an Actual Boy Wizard all along. As well as a lot of really personal and embarrassing life tragedies (you know minor things like “I was sold in childhood" and "i dont think i'm going to make it to 20" and new smash hits like "What do you mean gojo killed my father" and "what do you MEAN my abusive bio family is obsessed with me because my technique is supposed to be gojo's equal") he was sort of planning to die with that instead came out because Geto suguru does not stop fucking monologuing apparently.

Also the last time they saw him he was being knocked unconscious and carried away by this theatre kid terrorist to ensure their collective continued survival. It’s just. Shits embarrassing. He has to call time of death on that entire situation. Wash his hands of that place. Never look back.

So he does the only rational thing in this situation and simply never goes back to his old middle school.

He ghosts them. Never speaks to anyone from that place ever again. Some days are just so horrifically embarrassing that you just have to keep walking in the opposite direction forever. They can't make him face his problems if he walks quickly enough away from them.

There are two issues with that:

Because he never came back, a lot of them think he Actually Died for them

The Yasohachi bridge incident happens and he does apparently have to go back to that place. Fuck.

They don’t tell him where the mission is until he’s already in the car and attempting to throw himself out of a moving car raises suspicions. So instead it goes:

Nobara: what the hell did you do to these idiots

Megumi, sweating: … I beat them up

Idiot A, crying a little: He SAVED our LIVES

Megumi: *sweating harder*

The issue is that the official cover story was tragic gas leak and explosion but a lot of the survivors of Geto's attack didn't buy that and know what they saw. They just know no one else will ever believe it. some of them tried to say the truth on the internet and it got waved away as gas hallucinations. now, a good deal of them also left that school forever and ever never to look back. But some of them stayed. And they? They remember Fushiguro Megumi, that one delinquent who sacrificed himself for their lives even after stating out loud that he didn’t even like any of them all that much. The principal cries and tries to hug him when he sees him. There’s one of those little memorials that you put up for students who tragically passed for him.

Yuuji's simply aghast. So when Fushiguro lets everyone think he's dead, it's okay and normal but when he, itadori yuuji--

Fushiguro maintains he was alive when they last saw him and never told anyone he died so it’s on them for making assumptions.

more random facts from this universe:

There's a Lot that Gojo never told him that was revealed in the worst way possible when Megumi was in Forcible Cult Time and megumi tries to be like "look it's fine whatever reason you did it you kept me from the zenin so like. whatever. you had political reasons or something. we don't have to pretend this is more than it is we can be honest about it" and this derails immediately because Gojo, who has spent the last month terrified that he lost megumi forever, launches into an emotional speech about how he thinks of megumi as his little boy and how megumi's grown up into a beautiful young man who he’s so so proud of and megumi is like "yeah we don't need to be that honest" but it's Too Late

All of the second years are watching this happen like :o

See even if I wrote this universe one day (unlikely) I probably would stop it after jjk0 so we’d never get to the first years, making this an extra level of “never gonna happen.” That being said, when the first years start, nobara and yuuji are like “why is gojo sensei always hugging you and ruffling your hair and checking in on you after missions” and Megumi’s just sweating because he does NOT want to admit that gojo raised him and their relationship was harpooned when his high school ex kidnapped Megumi for like a month and told him that Gojo apparently killed his fucking dad and now Gojo’s trying to “rebuild” and “be more open and parental” or whatever

The Zenin are even more fucking annoying than ever because Geto was an infuriatingly good teacher and excellent at challenging Megumi’s mindset because he was framing everything as a secret that had been kept from him rather than trying to inspire him to believe in himself so Megumi sort of leveled up a bit in cult life. Also they’re acting like Megumi was finally broken from Gojo’s deceitful hold when really this is more of a “they need family counseling” situation. So they won’t stop showing up and hounding him to take his place with the rest of the clan. This is a non issue because Megumi sort of leveled up a bit in cult life and wow. He can just tell them to fuck off and back that up with his own power now. Huh. So that’s what that feels like.

Tsumiki spends the entire fic just. feral. Losing her mind. She was not at all fucking okay with her baby brother joining a fucking cult (without her) for a month and she's SUPER not okay with a lot of the information that was revealed. When Gojo shows up on scene after megumi gets taken assistants are trying to Physically Carry her into a car and she's straight up biting people. She does not shake this energy for the duration of the fic.

Sea glass gardens:

See I talk about this a lot already and what I don't talk about is because it's probably going to actually be written one day. But if you are interested in something from this universe, here's something that will definitely never happen:

So, whenever I start getting really into one of my little universes, I always have some very self-indulgent parallel storylines that i would never actually write because they're just not the most narratively satisfying direction to take the story, but they're just fun to think about. They are crackish and live only in my head.

I have sort of a time travelish one (not to be confused with the time travel au, which is my favorite JJK story i have and will happen one day hopefully) that's basically based on the idea of sea glass gardens proceeding into canon without change and Yuuta time traveling from the disaster that is canon back to immediately after he fucks up Geto and rushing to fix everything. But the catch is that Uraume also travels back in time and the conflict is whether Yuuta can save everyone before Uraume launches one of sukuna's fingers down Yuuji/Megumi's throat. Why did they both go back in time? I dunno. This is my self-indulgent fun story. I never bothered to figure out how to make it work. i cannot emphasize enough that this fic will never ever happen.

yuuta is. vibrating.

Yuuta does the only rational thing and decides to put everyone he has ever loved into one room where he can keep everyone safe until he can fuck up that little freak of a monk and save his loved ones.

The first thing he does upon waking up in the school's wreckage is to fucking sprint to heal geto, not out of any love for geto, but because his sensei's gay love got them into this and he's not fucking risking it again. geto's going to stay alive, sit down, and shut up so no body hopping whore can take him over and ruin everything. Yuuta's very aggressive about this point. He's going 2-0 with geto and he will make it 3-0. does geto want to lose the other arm? shut the fuck up.

The really difficult thing for him is that he has to go get megumi last.

He knows for a fact that the Zenin have megumi right now. And the last time he saw megumi, Sukuna had taken him over and completely destroyed him. He is absolutely desperate to see Megumi again and keep him safe and whole. And it's torture knowing that Megumi is being actively hurt in a scenario that legitimately devastated him the first time around, that he could go straight there and just stop it, and it wouldn't have had to have happened in the same way.

He also knows that Megumi would never forgive him if he didn't save his sister or his friends first.

Megumi, in a weird sort of way, is the safest out of anyone when Yuuta time travels back. First off, he was legitimately kidnapped from where he was supposed to be, so Uraume's going to have a lot of trouble actually finding him. Secondly, he's currently in the hands of an entire clan of powerful and trained jujutsu sorcerers who are utterly obsessed with him, who have him under constant guard, and who would kill to keep him. Out of everyone, Uraume has the least chance of getting near Megumi.

Yuuji doesn't even know jujutsu sorcery is real right now. Yuuta has to go get him first.

He and Gojo split up to rush around getting everyone before uraume can get to them. Gojo gets Tsumiki and Nobara and the Kyoto crew. Yuuta gets Yuuji and his grandfather. and then fucking books it to the zenin compound.

without dropping them off first.

This has been a very weird day for Yuuji.

It honestly took less explaining than Yuuta thought it would because apparently Yuuji's grandpa has just been sitting on the fact that before yuuji was born his mom died and came back to life one million times more of a fucking freak and was very very obviously possessed and his dad was just. fine. with that. still hit that. he's learning a lot about his parents right now. Whatever. they're on the level.

It also helps that some weird little freak shows up and gets in a fucking duel with Yuuta over Yuuji. Yeah sure. let's go to wizard school for his own safety. what do you mean they need to make a stop to pick up his future best friend (and maybe boyfriend yuuta really was never clear on whether they were like together or together) from the people currently torturing him. what do you mean yuuta needs yuuji to carry him while he fucks up his bio family. what is this.

THE TEAM:

Yuuta. Has. Really had a day and a half. Completely emotionally unstable right now. exuding an Energy. killed naoya and brought him back to life as a warning shot and it wasn't even the most terrifying thing he had done that day.

Tsumiki, was frantic about trying to find her brother, suddenly has him back with the news that in the future he gets possessed and kills her, confused as to why his time traveling upperclassman hugged her for five unbroken minutes and cried a little

Megumi, so fucked up, like SO fucked up. Mostly unconscious right now but very confused when he's awake. Who are ANY of these people. why is this pink haired stranger tenderly holding his hand. where is he. Not so much on the team as the person the team is protecting. he's too unconscious to be on the team. sort of going through it right now.

Yuuji, has had a Long Day, already murderously protective of megumi, who is apparently his future bestie. he's one first meeting deep and it mostly involved manfully cradling megumi in his arms while his future senpai fucked up his blood relations. he knows this will be friendship for the ages. thinks yuuta is great and is not jealous of him in the slightest. why would he be jealous. it's weird that you asked that actually.

Yuuji's grandpa, weirdly on board with everything and firmly advocating to solve problems with violence. Actually may be the most violent one there. suggests a car bomb as a problem solving strategy at one point. he kind of scares yuuta.

Nobara, wasn't really doing anything else today, has a passion for violence and is down to hit people with hammers. also there's a lot of beautiful and violent women in this room. is hoping something lgbtq will happen to her.

Gojo, offended by the continued implications that he cannot handle this solo, also wants to just put his kids in a single room for a while where they can be safe and where no one can possess either of them ever.

Shoko and nanami, constantly reminding him that he cannot handle this solo and to sit down and shut up before they lose megumi to sukuna, because Megumi is physically incapable of protecting himself right now.

Geto, only here because Yuuta has threatened to cut off his fucking head and burn the body if he moves a single fucking inch because yuuta is not dealing with his whore ass getting possessed again. he does word it exactly like that too. geto doesn't know how to feel about being called a whore by this deranged sixteen year old with a sword. he doesn't push back though because there's more than one way to solve this problem and yuuta's an inch from picking the permanent one. also here because apparently his daughters are killed by sukuna and he doesn't want that to happen. constantly bullied by every child in the room.

The Zenin, weirdly, who witnessed Yuuta v. Uraume round two when Yuuta came to save Megumi from them and absolutely refuse to lose the ten shadows to fucking Ryomen Sukuna of all people. Their most treasured technique cannot be tainted by Sukuna's putrid legacy. It would be what Kamo Noritoshi did to the Kamo clan all over again but worse because Sukuna's worse than Noritoshi ever was. They'd never recover as a clan. Anyone seeking to implant sukuna's consciousness in the ten shadow's body must die.

Maki (and the rest of the second years), ride or die, thinks they should use the Zenin as canon fodder. Yuuta agrees with this plan.

The Kyoto crew, does not know why they're here, mostly forced to stay in a different room so they'll be safe but like. not really part of the planning process. sorry. yuuta doesn't know or like them all that well. thanks.

From that point on it's mostly Yuuta & Co going after Kenjaku and Uraume and the rest of the special grade curses like Wile E. Coyote going after roadrunner. At one point he hires the creepy jujutsu sorcerer assassin to bring back Toji Fushiguro to help implement one of his plans. Neither Gojo nor Geto are okay with this idea. Yuuta vetoes them both. Yes he has veto power now okay Gojo and Geto's irredeemable homosexuality for each other left him with dealing with this fucking mess. He's going to kill absolutely everyone in this room and then himself if His Boy is not safe within a week.

Instagram Influencer AU:

Explained in more detail at the linked post above but the concept is that nobara is trying to launch her instagram influencer career and keeps accidentally making everyone else instagram famous except for herself.

Megumi and Maki are a family duo because they're both ridiculously attractive people of indeterminate familial relationship who Nobara posts videos of sword fighting. Megumi wants her to stop doing this. She will not.

When Megumi's not appearing with Maki on Nobara, she's posting candids of him with Yuuji. The entire internet thinks they're dating. He wants her to stop doing this. She will not.

Nanami did not want any of this to happen to him specifically.

Nobara posted a video of Nanami explaining how he thinks that baker should be the highest paid position in society and how work is shit and how he hates capitalist grind culture and the internet became simply obsessed with him. bread companies keep trying to sponsor him which is the only good thing that came from this.

Gojo did want this to happen to him specifically and very purposefully strolled into Nobara's live and flashed his eyes at the camera. Now he won't stop threatening the higher ups with leaving jujutsu sorcery forever to sign with one of the many modeling agencies begging him to join their brand. Yaga wants her to stop doing this. she will not.

Yuuji is an enthusiastic participant who is having a great time. Half of his old school is in the comment section asking what the fuck happened to him because he straight up disappeared one day and now he appears to be a fitness influencer on the internet?? He does not answer them. It fuels quite a bit of internet drama.

Inumaki finds this all hilarious and wants this to happen to him to. She refuses to aid him. This was supposed to happen to her. He aggressively photobombs at every opportunity and she finds exceedingly creative ways to crop him out.

Panda also finds this hilarious and keeps begging Nobara to post glamor shots of him that he and inumaki took on a flip phone camera and she cannot put in strong enough words why she will never ever do that

Nanami/Gojo Fake Fiancees no curses au:

Again, explained in more detail in the linked post above. No curses au where Nanami is Yuuji's adoptive dad and Gojo is Megumi and Tsumiki's adoptive dad and Gojo needs a fake fiancee because his ex just joined the same school district with his twin daughters and Nanami's trying to get through a custody battle with Yuuji's terrible older brother, Sukuna, who just crawled out of whatever abyss he's been in the last decade to challenge his custody.

Nanami was Yuuji and his grandpa's next door neighbor who was completely burned out as a salaryman and whose life revolved around work until a very tiny Yuuji knocked on his door and asked him to help him cut up some fruit because he wasn't allowed to use the knives by himself but his grandpa was sick and needed the fruit to get better. He loved Yuuji like his own from that day forward. Yuuji and his grandpa became his family and he was genuinely devastated when Yuuji's grandpa died. He took in Yuuji without a thought and never looked back.

Gojo was coming off of a bad breakup with his committed boyfriend, Geto, following them falling apart when Gojo's little sister Riko died tragically in front of Geto. Gojo then decided it was his slut era and had the terrible decision to include Toji in that era.

Apparently fucking jacked but amoral men as a purely sexual thing does lead to finding out that he has Entire Children he's left living alone when he gets the phone notification that the power company finally shut off their electricity because toji forgot to turn on autopay. is this a panic attack? this feels like a panic attack.

Toji honestly doesn't know what happened in that relationship because he couldn't have even knocked gojo up but he still somehow saddled gojo with his kids. unmitigated success.

Gojo just sort of freaks out, goes over to Toji's kid's house, takes them home with him so they have a place with electricity, and just... never can bring himself to let them go again. the next time he saw toji, he handed him the papers to transfer guardianship and told him that they'd never need anything from him so please, don't call. He just sort of dove into single fatherhood from then on out and never looked back.

Sukuna's attorney for the custody battle is Mahito.

The jujutsu kaisen world is a manga that Yuuji, Megumi, and Nobara are cocreating (with the main trio as some obvious self inserts), with Megumi doing the writing, Yuuji doing the drawing, and Nobara doing the coloring and layout design. Yuuji is very convinced that it will one day make them all famous.

Gojo finds out the most powerful character is based off of him and cries for like three days

Nanami: You mean the most annoying

Gojo, still crying to him on the phone: you can't take this from me

Megumi still has his divine dogs just as actual dogs. they're a pair of "puppies" he found and took in before Gojo adopted him who he loves dearly and refuses to be parted with.

They're not puppies. they're wolves. those are fucking wolves. where did five year old megumi get fucking wolves. what the fuck. gojo is terrified of them.

So much of what Arian said about those Stewy lines that got cut from “Honeymoon States” is melting my brain, but the things I can’t help but fixate on are the vagueness of Kendall’s childhood abuse and Stewy’s position as an objective third-party witness.

We don’t know how Logan abused Kendall as a kid beyond verbal abuse. Logan has laid into him before and it’s obvious that that goes back to Kendall’s childhood, but that’s not anything out of the ordinary. Kendall is not the only one Logan castigated or belittled, and Logan hurling verbal abuse at and publicly humiliating others happened often enough that people ultimately shrugged it off as Logan being Logan. It’s not something that anyone dwells on or has trouble talking about. 

Actually, no one has a problem talking about Logan's behavior, or more specific to this discussion, the way he treated his kids, in general! Everyone from the kids to Hugo of all people talk about it, so it strikes me as odd that no one ever mentions what happened to Kendall even offhandedly, other than Connor and Roman about the dog pound. Usually there are clues to deduce what occurred or at least narrow down possibilities, but it’s not neglect, which is what Connor endured, because Kendall was Logan’s number one boy. Waystar’s little prince. The heir apparent. It’s not misogyny, which is what Shiv had to battle once things soured (though Logan’s sexism has been present since the beginning; it just took a different form when Shiv was younger. She was his little princess), because he’s a man. It’s not physical abuse because they mention all the different times Logan hit Roman so it’s not like if Logan hit Kendall, people would think it was different and an issue to skirt around. It’s not likely to be sexual abuse, direct or otherwise, because there isn’t really anything in the text to suggest that in relation to Kendall. All we have is verbal abuse, but I don’t think that Logan dressing down Kendall would register to others as abuse because of what I said above. 

My guess is that no one talks about what happened because they believe Kendall escaped adolescence unscathed—Logan berating him for being a sensitive weakling and his addiction aside—because they saw his abuse as unremarkable. Either it happened privately or they saw the abuse but not the extent because the rest happened behind closed doors. Considering that no one knows why or how Kendall was suffering in S2 and S3 to this day other than Marcia and Colin—and all they know about is the cover-up, not Logan and Kendall’s private conversations and interactions afterwards—and Kendall’s own denial of his abuse, it isn’t much of a stretch to imagine Kendall keeping his mouth shut and/or forcing himself to forget/remember things differently. (Stewy asks Kendall if he remembers what Logan did to him as a kid. Kendall doesn’t remember details about the dog pound. He’s taken aback when Roman insists it traumatized him because he remembers it as a game they enjoyed, and Connor has to remind him that it was Logan’s idea in the first place so he could pit Roman and him against each other.)

Everyone is notably silent about the abuse even Kendall himself. He conspicuously leaves himself out when he’s rattling off how Logan hurt Connor and Roman in the karaoke room. (Admittedly, part of the reason is this, but I don’t think it’s just that anymore.) The only person to address Kendall’s childhood abuse, if I’m remembering correctly, is Stewy. Up until now it was intimated that he hates Logan because he and Kendall go way back, but it’s no longer subtext. He remembers. He never forgot. He doesn’t dismiss or deny what happened. He’s seen the way Logan has behaved and treated his kids, but he thought what happened to Kendall is horrific and still does. 

I may be reaching too much here, but again, there’s something off, something that isn’t an elephant in the room but rather a buried secret, because Stewy could have said that Logan’s been treating Ken like dirt over the past few years or his whole life, but he didn’t. He specifically mentions what happened to Ken as a kid. “I was there.” The whole line is stranger if Arian didn’t misspeak or misremember. “I was there when he saw that.” (Saw what?) 

Speaking of strange, this makes Stewy’s relationship to Logan even more peculiar. Logan constantly acted like Stewy was a stranger to the point that Kendall had to remind Logan that Stewy is one of his oldest friends. Logan refused to remember who Stewy was outside of business and had to have put in effort to do so because it shouldn’t be hard to remember Stewy. Stewy’s the only friend that any of his kids seem to have, and Stewy has clearly been part of Ken’s life growing up since they were very young. Ken is his oldest friend. He was invited to the Roys’ home and into their lives. He was there when Logan abused Kendall in front of him, not caring who saw. 

Maybe that’s because he was a non-entity to Logan, probably partially due to racism (who cares if Stewy sees because he’s nothing), but also because Logan deliberately tried to diminish Stewy’s presence in Kendall’s life for some reason. Who knows. Maybe he thought friendship was pathetic. Maybe he thought it made Ken weak and it compromised him. Maybe he thought that Stewy was pulling Ken away from him and he couldn’t have that. Maybe he thought doing whatever he did in front of Stewy would drive him away from Kendall. But this is all conjecture. What isn’t is that it did the opposite, whatever Logan’s reasons were. Stewy stayed and never let go. He walks away if he’s burned enough—by Kendall, not anyone else—but he’ll come right back if Ken needs him.

The first thought im currently having is the one that spurred me to make this blog which is about Percy returning to the Ministry in the epilogue.

I agree with mostly the entirety of Percy’s character — I like how flawed he is, I like the choices he makes, I like how he is mean and kind and how this balance seems to make sense to me — aside from the idea that he would return to the ministry after the war. I don’t think this makes any sense. I think this idea wholly stems from Rowlings misunderstanding of the political structure she created, which was full of curroption that stemmed from the bone, and how it would not be fixed over night like how she suggested.

If we (and by we I mean as the fandom) are rethinking the Ministry and abolishing then building from the ground up, then maybe. Possibly. If we wipe the slate clean and attempt to rid all of the corruption, he might return to help the effort after many years. But even then I feel he’d have the trauma of what he experienced/witnessed. I think Rowling seemingly forgot about Percy during a majority of Deathly Hallows because I feel that’s the only explanation for his sudden drastic poor writing. Not that anything was exceptional beforehand, but it was at least decently consistent. And because of her sudden lack of care for Percy, his experiences are not at all considered when it comes to his future, or even his experience with the Ministry. I feel he would have witnessed horrible things, given how Rowling described the Ministry during the war. I don’t believe he would return unless things felt actually changed.

That leads me to the other concept, that we’re following Rowling’s poor canon, about how the ministry is apparently fixed by just the golden trio which is both unlikely and impossible. Percy would not return. Not in a million years! Nothing about the Ministry is actually changed, nothing about it is safer. I can’t imagine he would feel safe enough to return. It would be not only traumatic, but wrong, because he would be familiar with the curroption and the wrongness and it would haunt him. It would be too much to bear witness to.

In my opinion, I think Percy would move on with his life, pointing in a different direction. I think with the guidance of his family he’d find something that maybe reconnects with his interests from his childhood, maybe something softer and kinder on him. Not jumping back to where he was during the midst of a war, when he was alone and isolated from his family. I don’t think it would be healthy and I don’t think it would be a good ending for his character.

This just in!! Mihawk Dracule has filed from divorce from Terra Roronoa!! As if that ain't enough, Arashi, Zs father has filed for divorce as well. Apparently, the guy filed for divorce but somehow the woman blocked it.

Great news for Z, his new music has been widely acclaimed. Now the question remains, what is Z's next move? Watch this space because things are about to get heated as the summer holidays come to a close.

Gossip Girl

Zoro wakes up screaming and panicking. “Baby what’s wrong?” Sanji asks groggily as Zoro’s screams woke him up. The greenette begins to pant, gasping for air as fear begins to paralysed him. He was having yet another nightmare relating to his mum and her abuse. This one involved his mother beating and kicking him repeatedly several times. This was why he asked Sanji to stay with him.

Sanji looked at him with deep concern and cups his face in his hands. “It’s okay, baby. That woman is not here and if she dares lay a hand on you, we will make her pay.”

He then hugs Zoro who simply hugs him back, tears flowing down his eyes. His childhood robbed, his identity stolen. All he ever is is a broken boy. That little boy that used to be there died the moment that woman began her work on him.

"I...I....I don't deserve this. All this fame. All this love. Everything." Sanji hugs Zoro tight and kisses his forehead. "You are wrong Marimo. You deserve everything and much more."

The greenette could only nod whilst Sanji continues to cuddle him. Sanji can understand how it feels to be in Zoro's shoes better than anyone. He is the son of Sora who is the Queen of Pop. Imagine the big shoes he and his siblings have to fill. Plus the fact that their father, rapper Judge Vinsmoke is a deadbeat dad and an abusive bastard at that, then you have traumatized kids.

"Remember when we first met?

Sanji grins. "You made fun of my brows and called me Curly and I fired back and called you Marimo because of your hair and we had a nasty argument that day."

They both laughed. "I believe we were 6 year olds then." says Zoro. "Yeah. I think so. The fact that we are still together is funny. I mean, everyone thought we hated each other till one day out of the blue, I called you my husband."

Sanji falls over laughing. "I still can't believe you fucking said that!!"

"Got jealous because Maria kissed you." Sanji just giggles. "Jesus fucking Christ!! So that was why you pulled me away from her?!" Sanji asked. Zoro nods.

"I envied Sukuna because that bitch had rizz back then. Still fucking does. I even thought he was gonna steal you from me." Zoro admits. "So that is why you even act bitchy towards him huh?"

"That plus that was why I lost my virginity at that gay bar in Italy to Griffith. You know? That rich guy I met at the club there. He was my boyfriend for like 3 months then."

Sanji gasps. Everyone knows the Griffith story but not the full details. He never knew how wild Zoro was back then. Considering he himself did similar shit, like hello he worked at a strip club at the time so he knows the drill. But damn. "Dude!! How did you fucking sneak into a fucking gay bar?! Like you were fucking 13 then!!"

"Perona helped. That is all I can say about that. Either way, the guy was quite charming and good looking."

"Yeah but not as hot as I am right?"

"Yes."

"But what made you break up with him?"

"The motherfucker cheated on me with some French model. Like the bitch used me for cheap publicity. Not helping was Sesshomaru leaking out my private details to the press around that time."

"Now I get why we never saw you in school for years."

"Either way, that is the past. You know what? Maybe I should come back to school. But before that, we should celebrate the summer. Like I wanna do fun stuff with you my buddies. I mean, can you believe that I have never chilled in the fucking pool not even once?!"

A bright idea pops up in Sanji's mind. "I think now is the time to host a pool party."

"THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!!"

"Like we can host it this weekend. Of course we will ask Mihawk for permission. Then we will invite those that we trust. Food, booze, you name it. We will sort that. And most importantly..."

Sanji rolls them aorund so that he was on top of Zoro and kisses his lips. "I will give myself to you that day. Yes Daddy, I want you to dominate me that day and fuck me silly and make me your sugar baby officially. I want you to be the King you fucking are."

Zoro was taken aback by this at first. He did not expect Sanji to be that open about it like that. Though to be frank, he and Sanji have been acting like a couple for a long time. They never brought up the sex conversation before.

"If that is what my baby wants, then I will give it to you and spoil you rotten." Sanji giggles and proceeds to make out with him.

Later that weekend, all of Zoro's friends get invited to the pool party that was being hosted at Mihawk's house. The media gets wind of it of course and every single blog talks about it.

Zoro no longer gives a shit. He is all about having a great time. None of the adults are around. Well, the staff are obviously but the parents are out of town so that the kids can have their fun.

"Now this is what I'm talking about!!" says Sukuna as he sips on some beer in a plastic cup. "About time Big Z hosted us properly without a certain someone breathing down our damn necks!!" says Rukia.

Zoro snorts with laughter. His eyes then fall on Sanji who was having a chat with Nami and Gojo next to the barbecue spot. Sukuna and Eren exchange smirks.

"Are they or aren't they fucking?" Usopp asked. Everyone laughs. Sanji blushes. "OI!! BITCH WHAT THE FUCK?" Zoro raises an eyebrow. "Really dude?" he says in a joking tone.

"Just what I wanna know too." Zoro rolls his eyes. Of course this motherfucker would show his dirty face at his own party. He whips around and glares daggers at a smirking Sesshomaru.

Zoro remembers the conversation he and Sanji had the night before. He no longer fears anyone anymore. "Why the fuck are you here? No one fucking invited you."

Everyone stops what they are doing and watches the drama unfold. Sesshomaru has a fake hurt expression on his face. "Oh come on!! That is no way to speak to a friend."

"You stopped being a friend the moment you leaked out my whereabouts and private information to the paparazzi and media.I also got intel that my mamma was paying you to spy on me."

Jaws drop at that revelation. "It's not what you think."

It was at this point that Zoro just explodes and goes off on him. "Or really? Oh and what about that that interview you gave where you said shit about my sex life? I get that I was underage and stuff but bitch you had no fucking right!!" Sesshomaru gets on the floor and tries to crawl away. Sanji places a hand on Zoro's shoulder. That calms him down.

"Good thing you showed your dirty face here. One less bitch left to deal with because I have already started weeding all you fake bitches out of my life which as why I never invited you!!"

He gets down on his knees, the signature Roronoa death glare in place. Compared to before, the death glare was a lot more menacing. Everyone in the room literally cowered in fear. "I suggest you and your little bitches run because if I still fucking find you bitches in here, I will not hesitate to send you bitches to hell." he says in the coldest tone he could muster.

With that, Sesshomaru and his cronies run for it. "Bet the bastard will go report to his mistress." says Sanji. "Let him. Besides, the woman has no power anymore. Either way, bae you and I got something to attend to." Zoro whispers.

Sanji grins. "Lead the way." Zoro takes Sanji's hand and pulls him away. The others snicker as they all knew what was about to happen.

Once they are in Zoro's room, Sanji locks the door behind him. Zoro grabs his lover and slams him against the wall, kissing him passionately.

Sanji lets out a moan as Zoro leaves a trail down his neck. Thankfully, they were wearing boxers which makes things easier for them. They pull down each other's boxers and move over to the bed.

Zoro crawls on top of him and stares lovingly at Sanji. "Why ain't I a lucky son of a bitch?" Sanji chuckles. "I can say the same about myself too."

The greenette gets to work and begins to kiss and bite certain parts of the blonde's skin, leaving him a moaning mess. "You are mine Sanji. Remember that." Zoro growls out. Meanwhile, Sesshomaru is dragged and dumped in front of Terra. "Useless fool." she says. "I couldn't kill him. Not with that many people there."

"Excuses. Excuses. Excuses." She pulls out a gun and points it at him. "Say hello to your mother for me." Without hesitation, she pulls the trigger. Sesshomaru closes his eyes and says a silent prayer, preparing for the worst only for nothing to happen.

He opens his eyes to see a flag sticking out of the gun saying "Sike." She smirks. "Be grateful I did not stoop that low." She then whispers in his ear. "You were always a more worthier son to me than Zoro anyway." With that, she walks way with her guards following her, leaving a confused Sesshomaru behind.

Things are getting out of hand here. Terra as you can see is one heck of a scary woman.
