It happened…again.

The nightmare kept being frequent. You could tell it really bothered Beelzebub to dream it and relive that day, night and night again.

Belphagor has tried helping Beelzebub get rid of the nightmare, every sleeping trick was a fail.

You all usually stayed in the attic, the three of you on the bed to make sure Beelzebub was okay.

This night wasn’t any different.

Beelzebub shot up from his sleep, breathing heavily from fear and shuddering from tears. Tears of grief from reliving that tragic day.

You wake up first to notice, Beelzebub sitting straight up: clutching his chest and taking deep breaths.

You comfortingly reach out for his arm.

He jumps slightly but turns to see you. His shoulders relaxing again as you sit up and rub his back to sooth him.

You ask if it was the same nightmare, already knowing the answer.

“I had her…but I was a little too late. I held her as she slowly died. If only I had been faster.” He slightly mutters, almost to himself as he reaches out for the air only to feel nothing.

You take some time to comfort and manage to sooth Beelzebub, enough to at least lay back down again.

Belphagor has already woken up and tried offering Beel something to help him go back to sleep but he refuses.

To distract Beelzebub, you go and ask Leviathan in the middle of the night for some games and manga. Reluctantly Levi follows you to the attic with consoles and games. You manage to wake up Mammon to go make the spicy ramen he usually makes and even go to Satan to ask what kind of tea blends would work to calm someone.

Due to the ruckus of everyone being awake, Lucifer comes to join you all as well, quietly spectating. The only one missing is Asmodeus, though when you go to fetch him, he says he’d rather get his beauty sleep though you’re welcome to join him but you decline for now.

You go back to the attic and hang out with the brothers like a sleep over.

Okay, I know I should have kept this under wraps until I actually completed the fic it's supposed to accompany. But I couldn't help myself. I hope I am able to complete this story soon (it's been stalled for weeks now), since it's supposed to be just a long one-shot.

This fic is also competing with the other Eomer WIP I have ("Taken"), but I swear both of those are In Progress and are on the top of my priority list--you may thank Karl Urban for keeping his siren hold on me. <3

Story Premise: OFC Reader has fallen gravely ill to a winter illness spreading around Edoras. With disparate social classes dividing them, Eomer has taken her friendship for granted for years. As death looms close, he now faces losing her without getting a chance to admit that he has loved her all along.

I posted an excerpt HERE a while back. Sadly, not much more has been written since (Has it really been 2 months?? OMG what?! Where has my head been??), but I'm trying my best!

Spending your lunch break with Beelzebub was a common occurrence.

In fact, it was something you had come to love over the past few months.

There was something about just spending time eating and lazing around with your boyfriend talking about any and everything that made you look forward to the lunch breaks at RAD.

Beelzebub had also caught onto your excitement for the little time between classes the two of you spent together and would often show up with new snacks and treats for you to enjoy with him.

Today wasn't any different, with Beel's new choice of snacks being the Madame Screams pudding cups everyone had been talking about.

He had gotten almost ten cups just for the two of you, and while it was clear you wouldn't be having more than two, Beel was finishing his share far faster than you were because of your constant rambles of the previous class.

However, in your rambling state you hadn't realised a bit of pudding had dribbled onto the corner of your mouth, and you most definitely didn't see the small smile that formed across Beel's lips as he set down his cup and turned towards you a little more.

The action made you automatically turn towards him too even as you spoke, making Beel's smile only widen as he bent down and locked his lips with yours, effectively cutting off whatever it was you were saying.

He pulled away after a couple of seconds and hovered his lips over the corner of your mouth before licking away the little pudding and pulling back.

While you remained shocked and flustered at his actions, Beel was more than happy to casually return to his pudding cups, as if he hadn't just kissed you in front of an entire cafeteria of demons.

It was only when you made no move of eating or continuing your little rant that Beel turned towards you with furrowed browns and his pudding spoon still hanging between his lips.

No one sees him anymore except Belphie. If it weren't for him, they'd think Beel was dead.

He didn’t feel hunger anymore, specifically ignoring his hunger. Without having the energy to stand up and head to the kitchen, why should he bother? Your cooking was the only thing that could pull him out of the dumps.

It was another day of sleeping in and not eating when a panicked Belphie entered the room and started pulling him away from the bed. Groaning, he threw a pillow at Belphie, hoping to get him to leave him alone.

Feeling him repeatedly smack his back, he stands up to yell at him. Although he doesn’t get a chance to, Belphie immediately starts pulling him towards the attic, "They've been crying for a few hours and I didn't know what to do." With his brothers traveling to the human realm with Diavolo, he was tasked with taking care of you.

He didn’t know it was this hard. When he fell, he was mostly unconscious throughout the whole process, with Belphie and Mammon taking care of him.

"MC?" he asks, slowly peering in, scared to see the state you're in. You were laying down on the bed. Your horns were similar to his but longer than his. Your wings were similar to a butterfly but still in the same silhouette as his. Your breathing was ragged, your brows furrowed. You appear to be having a nightmare, and Beel would give anything to hug you close to his chest while whispering sweet nothings in your ear.

He shakily grabs your hand and just... breaks. When it comes to his family, everyone knows how Beel is.He lays his head on your chest and says, "I-im so sorry, MC. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you... 'm sorry I'm so sorry." You groan, confused about the wetness on your chest, "Beel? W-what's going on? It hurts... everything hurts." He looks up, a gentle smile appears on his face, "I know... It'll hurt for a while, but I promise everything will be fine. Just-just please be rested, MC. You need it."

Belphegor

You know that he'd be livid. It was like deja vu. He wanted to go to the celestial realm and fight with his father. Was Lilith not enough? Why does he keep wanting to take his family away from him? He isolates you from everyone, even Beel, the whole time you were unconscious. His head was just a mess; he was paranoid, worried, and scared that something would happen to you the moment he left.

Lucifer managed to talk him out of it. He slept like a baby that night, fatigue quickly catching up with him. He groans before quickly sitting up. He looks around. It was already morning. He was running towards the attic. When he sees you're not there, he loses his shit. He's in his demon form yelling at Lucifer, asking where you were when he heard something from the planetarium.

"Belphie? Are you there? Why are you screaming?" It was you. You were in your demon form. It was very similar to his. You were walking towards him. He took notice of the cane you were holding. Noticing his stare, you look at the cane before speaking, "Ah, this? I'm still having a hard time walking, Lucifer gave it to me. He said he used to own it. Ah, now he remembers, Lucifer did use a cane before, "Are you okay? How do you feel?"

He guides you to sit down, "I'm fine - well, not really, but you get my point." It hurts and I'm still very new to this, so give me a few weeks and I'll manage. Mammon and Beel told me what happened when I was unconscious... I'm sorry for worrying you so much, Belphie." he tsked, "Nonsense, it was a normal reaction to seeing you in so much pain. But you're here now. Please don't leave me again..."
