I first read “if you were lazy you would be having fun” on your blog and it has genuinely been a life-changing piece of advice for me and my friends - I’ve said it to like four of my other executive dysfunction judies and without fail it earns a ten second silence followed by a single revelatory “fuck”

My dad and I actually ran into the speech language pathologist who told me that over 20 years ago at a town hall a few months back—she is retired now, but still advocating for disabled students at IEP meetings and being a nuisance to school administrators. I thanked her for everything, and she was delighted to hear that I was passing her words along to other people who needed to hear them!

aren't you almost 30? it is weird when people over 30 watch shows aimed at teens and 20-somethings. but you even said you stopped watching it, so it's fine :).

ohmygod please don't be one of those people who thinks when you're thirty you're suddenly 'old' and can't enjoy things that give you nostalgia because 'they're for teens!'. guess what, a switch doesn't flip when you hit a certain number that means you stop enjoying things you did before. this attitude will only make yourself miserable

Finding Hope

It's hard to fathom that it's been over twenty since I created my first of many journals on LiveJournal. There, I was able to connect with those who shared my varied interests, participate in the various fandoms before it was popular to do so, make some amazing lifelong online friends, and truthfully, express myself in ways that I seemingly couldn't in my everyday life. I expanded my self-taught knowledge of online coding, learned how to make icons - about the extent of my graphic artist capabilities, and learned that I wasn't a defective human being.

I know, something that most people aren't.

At 19 though, I didn't fully appreciate that.

Now, twenty-two or so years later, I'm finding that I really miss that ability to connect with people through writing online and just being somewhat anonymous. LiveJournal is still around, as are other sites running the same basic kind of software like InsaneJournal and DreamWidth, but there's disadvantages there. LiveJournal is more Russian based now that it's owned by Russia, and it doesn't have that same feeling as it used to. I checked out one of my old journals - yes, I can still access it surprisingly - but the site in general just doesn't...feel right. Plus, honestly, the rise of Facebook and Twitter kindof killed those online journal social media sites.

So I find myself here, at WordPress and Tumblr, as I need to find that safe space to unload the various thoughts in my head and just ... connect with people again. My life has been in upheaval for a number of reasons, and it's just feeling so overwhelming and somewhat hopeless again. Being anonymous is so freeing. That disconnect from my everyday life where I don't feel judged on what I'm thinking or doing, even if those in my life aren't actually judging me and it's just my brain talking.

Building on the favourite animal ask, another Very Important Question: favourite PREHISTORIC animal? And why? (I've always loved gorgonopsids and pterosaurs like anurognathus, but a new favourite is aquilolamma the eagle shark. They're just very cute).

I feel like my top favorites are pretty pedestrian, but I like prehistoric deer a lot!

hi, do you happen to have info about how healing in the dungeon works? i remember seeing something about what injuries could and couldn’t be healed (i think it was discussing how a destroyed limb could be fully healed?) but i can’t remember where it was from

satoru wouldn’t know the definition of personal space if it smacked him in the forehead, he needs to be close all the time always. 

the “actually, there are two beds” trope with him is so funny esp in a f2l setting because for every night of your trip, he finds some excuse to be in your bed instead of his. actually, he would give up rooming by himself on a group trip if it meant he got to share a room with you, because he’d find a way to share a bed with you. 

the first night, he dumps his entire suitcase on his bed, then showers, and you’re asleep by the time he comes back. and now he’s clean and moisturized and he wants to go to bed and oh no! all his stuff is still on his bed! guess he’ll have to share with you for tonight 😇 

the second and third nights he fakes having a nightmare to crawl into your embrace, and then feeling sick so you’ll coddle him to sleep. 

the fourth night, he showers first and falls asleep on your bed instead of his. you’re the respectful one who takes his bed instead, but ofc he wakes up once you’ve fallen asleep to slide in next to you, and when you groggy and confused he just hushes you back to sleep with a cheeky, “you were in my bed, don’t worry about it.” 

the fifth night, he turns the AC all the way up and says you “looked cold” so he “came to cuddle you” while you were asleep. 

he could find an excuse for every single night as long as you share a room together, but the moment you invite him in, ask him, “satoru, do you wanna share?” his brain short circuits and his face goes all red and you offering does bad bad bad things to him and now he actually has to sleep in his own bed because this is gonna keep him up all night

Alastor and Lucifer are cats sharing the same space and learning to live with each other. Most of the time they will be watching each other with their hair on end. At least once or twice they will groom one another and then swat when one or the other won't sit still. There will be large leaps and zoomies. Long down the line they will be found curled up in a perfect circle.

Charlie put a baby gate in the hall of the top floor so that they can see one another without immediate violence. XD

this was such an interesting exercise ty for the suggestion!! jealousy is such a context-dependent emotion to draw so it was a bit tricky getting it to read as jealous and not just upset or uncomfortable.,.. gave it my best shot tho !
