The MARINA discography saga continues. Been a bit since I was so fixated on an artist, but her songwriting is a breath of fresh air.

My chemistry midterm is tomorrow, my math midterm (day before yesterday) went. Absolutely terribly. Because our teacher came up with original questions and cancelled stuff. So that's not a fun precedent for the rest of my internals.

I really enjoy chemistry so my concepts are definitely there, now I need to go through fine print.

thursday 04.17.25 - "wifi issues and typography"

the wifi in my house has been spotty lately, so i've chosen to study at my workplace :,) i got a 50% discount on my drink! my new coworkers are amazing, i'm very fortunate to have found a place like this! i've heard some horror stories about the cafe i'm supposed to be working at (currently training at a different location), so i begged our district manager to let me stay here. my request was graciously approved this morning, and i'm beyond excited to be in a healthy and happy work environment!!

in other news, i'm finally done with image-making and i've moved onto typography! it's definitely not as fun as i thought it would be, but that's how things have been going in this graphic design course.

Study sessions while sick are not it. Unfortunately I feel well enough to write so thesis proposal it is, featuring a half finished weekly planner and dissertation defense cake! Hopefully I feel 100% soon and can work on my chapters and not just write them up.

My sleep schedule is fucked and so math is beyond my capacity right now. So chemistry flashcards are being made until my iced coffee kicks in (it won't). Here's a look at my inorganic chem notes which I'm rather proud of.

Also the results of yesterday's physics trials. As you may be able to tell I was pretty much screaming at the paper by the end of the day, so I need to find more practise questions now.

In other news, I finally got my thesis grade! So, now I'm officially in possession of a Bachelor of Arts! And I can breathe a sigh of relief because I will be able to continue my masters. My confidence in my thesis was low, so I was really biting my nails about it... I'm going to treat myself to a nice professional hair dye as celebration!

thursday 04.10.25 – "imagemaking and moving forward"

i finished my social media marketing certificate! i guess that makes me a social media marketer? idk, still working through the kinks.

we're onto the fundamentals of graphic design, which i'm giddy to be starting. it feels so silly to learn about basic images, but you'd be surprised what shenanigans some of my classmates have submitted... lol! we're all learning :)

last week I finally started my PhD program! it's so surreal to be here. how long have I daydreamed about my first day of class? was it really six months ago that I came to visit campus for the first time? despite the high intellectual demand, everything feels more chill than my undergrad experience. instead of pouring my every fiber of being into making the grade, my entire purpose is instead steeping my mind in new ideas and becoming a better scientist. and despite the stress, that's an incredibly relaxing shift.
