During therapy, to work through his trauma, Fume learned several methods to focus his mind and ground himself when overtaken by grief and fear. Originally intended for that purpose, these techniques became a habit he still follows today, especially in moments of stress or exhaustion from too much work. While he is mostly stable, Fume is sometimes still triggered by reminders of that day or experiences nightmares, but it rarely happens more than once a year.

01. An old bracelet made of wooden beads is one of the pieces of jewelry he wears most often, and many people notice it. He tends to slip it between his fingers, brushing over each bead and counting them. It is something he often does subconsciously, especially when caught in a conversation he cannot simply walk away from. Fumie’s jewelry is often made from different materials, allowing him to 'play' with them and focus on how each feels, helping him stay present.

02. The 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique after nightmares. 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell.

03. Progressive Muscle Relaxation. If he feels like stress or anger are getting to him, especially with difficult customers of the forgery, he often hides this with rolling his shoulders and pretending to stretch.

04. Fumie is an observer and is alright to call himself out. While he cannot do so loudly with others around, he does not shy away from cursing himself and reminding himself that this is, in fact, how things are here and now.

The most effective way to get him out of tunnel vision is more or less to call him by his birthname, one almost nobody knows at this point but somehow keeps pulling him out.

Wait wait wait, in some countries the "first floor" refers to the one above the "ground floor?" Why would the first not be interchangeable with the ground? Literally the first floor built and first floor you enter into? Why would anyone decide "first floor" should be the name of the next one up in the air

60 workouts from 100. I am 60% done!! I feel fantastic even though in some workouts I feel like I'm in a boxing fight and I'm losing 😂

But I'm still doing it! I'm focused, motivated and I have decided to keep going!
