Background:

Sam's mother[Areana] is human. She was desperate to receive a child and made a deal with a devil for it. All she had to do was name the child after him[Samuel]. Of course once Sam was born a teifling things got... complicated between Areana and her husband. He left not long after Sam's birth.

But Areana never blamed Sam. She loved her. The child she had been so blessed to have.

Sam, being a teifling in a small community in the Lowe city of Balder's Gate, struggled to make friends, but quickly found that if she entertained people stopped looking at her like a freak... at least for those brief moments. So, naturally, she became a Bard and spent a lot of her time playing in her mother's bar.

[More to come when I finish her playthrough, but I intend to have her romanced with ascended Astarion]

Doing Gale's Act 3 romance scene with Durge after going to Bhaal's temple is so funny bc Gale is like "The Outer Planes. This is where gods dwell." while showing Durge this beautiful purple space sea and Durge thinks "my god of a father made me live in the literal fucking SEWER!"

Background before the star of the game;

Svale grew up near Balder's Gate in a small druid community. They lived off the land and sold crops to various shops to make a living.

Svale always had a good heart and tried to help wherever she could. People would often take advantage of her somewhat naive and trusting nature. At times she'd be sad about it, but often she didn't even notice unless someone pointed it out.

Her parents taught her what she knows of the underdark, but before the events of BG3, she had never actually been there.

Act One:

She promised Nette to take the poison if needed. Convinced the druids to release the child. Killed the goblin leaders with the help of Halsin.

Let Astarion kill the gur: yes

Killed the hag: yes

She initially trusted the hag and ended up killing the brothers. But she also ended up killing the hag and freeing her victims. She raised the husband and gave the wand away.

Explored the underdark: yes

Sided with the mushroom circle. Saved the iron hand gnomes. Killed the oppressors. Tried to get help from the mindflayer.

Took Raphael's deal: no

She didn't trust Raphael when he showed up, but she had doubts about the decision.

Found a cure for Karlachk: no

The goblins were already taken care of by the time Karlachk joined the group

Found a cure for Gale: yes

Sort of. Gales orb was contained so that he could detonate it at will at the heart of the absolute

Killed Orpheus: no

She trusted their dream visitor and refused to hear out the goddess when she told them to kill the person in the prisim. This made larzel turn on the group and they had to kill her

Picked up animal companions: yes

Scratch and Owlbear Cub is on the team.

act two:

Lifted the shadow curse: yes

Freed the iron hand gnomes and teiflings: yes

Sided with the last light in during abduction attempt: yes

Killed the nightsong: no

She did not manage to convince Shadowheart and so they had to kill her instead

Freed mizora and the other victims: yes

Got Dammon to fix Karlachk's heart: yes

But Karlachk refused to go back to the hells, so she's on borrowed time.

Took Raphael's deal: yes

Tried to hear the demon out, but Astarion pushed to finish the deal and she Sided with him.

act three:

Romanced Halsin after asking Astarion about it

Let Astarion ascend: No

But she did let him kill Cazador. She convinced him to let the other spawn live and decide for themselves if they would be monsters or not. They went to the underdark.

Turned mindflayer: No

But Karlachk did as they never went to avernus to fix her engine.

Person kidnapped: Gale

Found the dragon: yes

Took Raphael's deal: no

She did not even hear him out and told the Emperor about it afterwards

Took Gortash's deal: no

She said she'd think about it, but when Orin took Gale they decided to do as she said and went after the Steel watch

Visited the Iron Throne: yes

Freed most of the prisoners

Like, it's all fear that you'll get no results when you type it into DuckDuckGo, then it's elation as you get a bunch of results, then disbelief as you realise that this is a very common issue, but everyone actually has slight variations on it and there are thirty different fixes floating around, and then despair as none of the fixes work for you, then hope as you find a forum post of someone describing the exact variant of the issue you have, and then utter contempt for humanity as the only response is someone calling OP an idiot for not already doing one of the fixes you've already tried

Tav Origins

So, I'm curious. What origins have ya'll made up for your Tav's in BG3? Cause if you're anything like me you constructed elaborate fucking backstories for those bitches.

And, as a show of good faith, here's mine.

First off, my Tav's name is Invi. He's a Tiefling Paladin, Oath of the Ancients, and how he came to be a member of that order is a bit of a story!

So, Invi was once an urchin living on the streets of Baldur's Gate. His family had been displaced by a greedy slumlord and his parents had died of the plague, leaving Invi all alone. Invi turned to thieving to avoid starving, but by all accounts he wasn't very good at it, escaping by luck more than skill.

But one day, Invi's luck ran out. He pickpocketed what looked like a wealthy man and was caught by the watch, who dragged him back tot he man for judgement. Turns out the man in question was a Paladin of Tyr, Sworn to the Oath of the Ancients.

Desperate, Invi lied, saying the man had given him the money. The guards didn't believe him, but when they asked, the Paladin looked at Invi for a good long while and said: "Of course! But, my young friend, you left so quickly! Did you forget I gave you this as well?"

And the Paladin gave him the Golden Ring on his finger, carved with the symbol of his order. The Paladin, named Cirion, bid the gards leave, and walked Invi to a safer place. There, Cirion said, "Now you be careful now boy. And if you're ever in need, let that ring guide you. And it may do far more than that."

Invi went on his way. He used the money, but he never dared part with the ring. He puzzled and puzzled over Cirion's words. Eventually it became too much for Invi, and he sought Cirion again, seeking answers for his strange behavior.

Invi tracked down the Temple of Tyr and showed the ring to the Paladin guarding it he was let in with a smile. Unfortunately, Cirion was away, but the Paladins were more than happy to allow him to stay.

So, Invi stayed, waiting for Cirion to return. But as the days turned to weeks, the Paladins offered him things other than food and board. They offered to show him sword work. How to sew and cook and other things. Before long, Inni felt at home there, terrified it would end when Cirion returned.

And return Cirion did. His cloak dusty from the road, his sword well-used from hunting demons, Invi was brought before him, and Invi asked his question.

"Why did you give me this ring?"

"You were a child in need, I believed you needed it more than me."

"I could not sell it. And it... it brought me here."

"Just as it brought me here, all those years ago."

And so Invi became Cirion's apprentice. He trained and grew and learned. He laughed freely. He brought aid to his fellow urchins, the ones he'd grown up with, providing them aid and succor and pulling them out of the streets when he could. The order was more than happy to provide. Gold, after all, is useless when hoarded like a dragon.

And on the day Invi took his Oaths and became a Paladin in full, he embraced the now old and worn Cirion and called him father, and never had either man felt more love and pride than they did in that moment.

And, years later, a Mind Flayer Tadpole in his brain and the gaze of a False God upon him, Invi is in The Grove, trying desperately to save the refugees there. When, in the midst of it, he's robbed by a pack of young tieflings.

Invi catches them, of course, he still remembers the old tricks. Some are annoyed, others are unrepentant, but the girl, Silfy, crying in shame and fear, that he sees something... familiar in.

Invi smiles, consoles her, and presses a familiar ring into her hand.
