FNAF SPOILERS

okay so, i know everyone is talking about it already but I'm just gonna do a quick list of my theories n beliefs bc i want to keep em all together and also why not so here we go!!

mike and garret's father is henry emily! hes the same man working on the animatronics on the training tape, and it makes sense that william would kidnap him and that garrett would be so unphased and willing to get into a vehicle with him.

garrett will be the puppet. im loving the theory that instead of michael being an afton like he is in the games, he's an emily. garrett in this instance would be charlie's replacement in the movies. his story follows the same timeline that charlies does: locked away from their protector (mike/the puppet), taken in by someone they know (william) and then killed by him. the puppet music plays at the end of the film, and right after that, letters spell out "come find me." this is garrett, who has possessed the marionette and is speaking to mike!

the nevada dream isn't real. dreams can be foggy, memories can be worse. mike tells vanessa and his coworker that theres a dream theory, where he can go back into his memories and look for details. but what if hes so focused on trying to get to the details of the car and the man that he's forgetting the big ones? what if he never actually went to nevada? it might seem silly and farfetched but there was a lot of emphasis on the soda spilling, the ketchup spraying, etc. i kept thinking it would go back to the pizzaria. so what if michael blocked out the pizzaria entirely? what if he saw garrett be taken by william? in the games, william comes out of his car, kills charlie, and leaves. what if in the movie universe he instead took garrett and left with him in his car? what if that part of the memory is true, but in a. desperate attempt to block the memory of freddy's he forgot it entirely? he seems unfamiliar when talking to vanessa, who is shocked he's never heard of it, since it was so popular. what if the reason she was shocked was because she knew he had been here before?

vanessa and mike knew each other as kids. vanessa is very vague about her childhood and about her knowing garrett, but she does reveal that she not only met him, but was at the pizzaria often (hence the photo and all her seemingly good memories, like being excited about the band playing). if mike is an emily, it would make sense that he was at the pizzaria with garrett and his parents, and that vanessa had known him. which leads to the question of: did she see when william killed garrett? did she help him? she's smiling in the picture with her father and his plane. did she have no idea until it was too late?

henry emily will come back. mike says that his mom died and his father couldn't handle it, so he left. im not sure how they're going to fit so much into three movies, but my hope is that the trilogy they've planned will end with Pizzaria Simulator. and if this is the case, henry emily would have to be present for it to happen.

abby will possess baby. i really dont have much on this i just think it would be super sick if it followed what would have been her fate if she was an afton, and if she's elizabeths movie counterpart it would make sense for her to have the same ending.

i have a lot more theories and hopes, im actually working out a mini timeline for what i think will happen in the movies bc i think it would be super cool but!! for now thats all i got thats super major to me. im so glad fnaf has had this resurgence in theories im having the time of my life i love thinking about this kind of stuff

He hesitantly accepts the band members help in finding his old friend, Cassie, so he can be reunited with her and not keep living on the streets, because after finding him for the first time, the band members are VERY adamant that he cannot go back to that living situation, considering the terrible condition he was in.

-Endpoint Security/#Fnaf Endpoint Security: Security Breach swap AU featuring newly uninfected Vanessa as the protagonist and a very much so still infected Dr. Rabbit as the antagonist. Vanessa, barely even remembering having this job and now locked in the Pizzaplex until 6am without any of her keycards or tools, is now accompanied by Dr. Rabbit talking to her through her new fazwatch as she goes on a scavenger hunt he set up just for her to find her keycards and tools to help her survive the night until the doors open, though Dr. Rabbit makes it clear that 6am won't be the end of this shift for her if all goes according to plan.

-Back at it again/#Fnaf Back at it Again: Post PQ ending. Vanessa keeps her job as head of security and Gregory takes up an internship as a security guard, position secured by Vanessa’s recommendation, and the two use their job ranks to continue looking into the mysteries of the Pizzaplex and put Mimic to an end once and for all, aaas well as steal whatever they need to take care of Freddy back home when no one's looking.

-Painted Tears Trilogy/#Fnaf Painted Tears Trilogy: Silver Eyes Trilogy inspired AU centering around the MCI looking into the disappearances of Charlotte Emily and Evan Afton, two of their now missing childhood best friends.

You look over to your right, where Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica are performing. Foxy is going to do a show after this. You never liked Foxy. He looks too scary with his hook and his sharp teeth.

You’ve been coming here a lot, and frankly, the animatronics aren’t new and cool anymore. They’re just.. boring.

You wish there would be a new animatronic. A cat, perhaps? A dog? Another kind of bird, maybe?

You wouldn’t even care if it was the same animal. You just want something new. And the animatronics are so… stiff. Robotic. Stationary.

You can’t interact with them. All they do is sing the same songs, over and over, again and again.

But you’ve heard of something different. Something before Freddy’s. Fredbear’s Family Diner.

As far as you know, they only had Fredbear. Maybe something else, but still, very few animatronics.

Even with the lack of a band, they were more fluid. More alive. You don’t know why. Something called “springlocks”?

You just want something new. That’s it. Is that really a lot to ask for? You get up and head for the side of the pizzeria. It’s quiet there. And your stupid older sibling isn’t hanging out with their friends here.

You wait there for a few minutes, looking around. Kids having fun, playing tag (which the employees did not like) and cheering for the animatronic band.

You glance to your right again. This time, there’s a hallway with a few rooms on the side. On the left near the end of the hall, one room has huge metal doors and black and yellow stripes on them.

You wonder why they would ever need that.

Suddenly, you hear the door to your left’s lock quietly open. Very, very carefully and quietly, as if whoever was behind there wanted to be as unnoticeable as possible.

The door slowly creaked open, just a tiny bit. You spot yellow, animatronic-like hands on the doorknob.

What? Another animatronic? You think to yourself.

it pushes open more. Little by little, the door opens wider and wider until the door is halfway open. Then a yellow animatronic foot steps out. Bunny ears slowly move forward, past the side of the doorway, and there it was.

Another animatronic.

A yellow rabbit.

It was just like Bonnie, but it had finger joints and it had more teeth. Instead of a red bow tie, a purple bow and vest were draped around its shoulders.

It’s gaze rests on you.

It seems delighted at the sight of you. You’re happy to see this new animatronic, just coming out of nowhere, seeing you, of all people.

Maybe you were too excited.

maybe you forgot about the warnings of a murderer. That dragged his victims into the exact room it was about to bring you into.

Maybe you didn’t notice the malicious, unnervingly dead-looking, shockingly purple eyes under that suit.

And the disgustingly friendly-looking smile.

He must have had a lot of experience with this character, this suit, because his voice sounded so friendly and silly. He had perfected it.

“Hello, little one! Do you like candy?”

Before you can answer, he grabs you by the wrist and pulls you in, shutting the door quickly yet quietly.

You grumble. The rabbit didn’t even let you answer his question! How stupid.

the rabbit turns away from the door and towards you.

something shiny is in his right hand. Something metallic.

Suddenly you are aware.

The silly yellow rabbit is holding a knife. You scream at the top of your lungs, but he lunges toward you and covers your mouth tight. He manhandles you, pulling you towards him.

Then he laughs. Not a nice laugh like the yellow rabbit would have done. A deep, mean laugh. A strangely cruel laugh. Then, as you are struggling, his arm stretches outward.

Then it snaps back to your neck.

It’s only then that you notice the dried blood on his suit. Your blood just makes it redder.

Then you fall to the ground, limp, as darkness washes over you, the yellow rabbit still ominously standing there, staring over your body, grinning.

Are remnant and souls 100% the same thing? As in, could remnant be something that is produced by the ghosts possessing the animatronics, and not the souls themselves? Ok, I'm making no sense. Let me explain.

So, remnant = soul metal, not gonna contest that, I'm more so saying remnant =/= souls. A common understanding I see is that if something has remnant, it's haunted. I don't think that is necessarily the case, I think that it's like... I have a venn diagram to explain.

I have reasoning, don't worry. First, I feel it explains a few details and makes the endings of 3 & 6 more satisfying with the rest of the story, but I'll get to that. Second, I do have some proof, although it is mostly just bending the evidence to my desire... yeah, this is very much not scientifically sound.

Anyway, the only real information I know of that relates directly to remnant is the scooper diagram

It is generally accepted that this means that heating remnant destroys it permanently, but all this says is it might destroy its effects. Meaning it loses its ability to animate things.

What this idea makes me wonder is if the reason William keeps coming back is that he doesn't want to move on? The scooper's note simply says that heat may destroy the effects of remnant, but if remnant and souls are separate things (and we have no reason to think they're the same), and haunted objects produce remnant (as all the animatronics having remnant seems to suggest), then why would high temperature make the ghosts move on? Have we ever been given reason to believe heat affects souls?

Maybe the real way to make a soul move on, is to help it find peace, then burn the remnant... like fnaf 3's good ending.

If we assume the good ending is canon (because unless it was retconned, why wouldn't it be?), then the missing kids - who aren't theorized to still be around at all in the recent games - would have moved on, and their remnant destroyed, fully ending their story. A satisfying end for them, minus Cassidy, who stuck around, maybe going with William to keep track of him?

That idea assumes that the missing kids aren't in Ennard/Molten Freddy/the Funtimes, though. Simply because I don't think they are. I think their remnant is, William may have extracted some of it before destroying the OG band, or if there are kids who went missing in '87, maybe they're haunting the Funtimes? I don't know, I'm fairly certain the Funtimes are in no way haunted by the '85 kids. It just makes no sense logistically. Either way, that remnant is destroyed in the fnaf 6 fire, the kids are out of the game from now on.

Cool? Cool. Fnaf 6 fire, the big finale... well not really.

It is possible that fire does make a spirit move on. Which sounds super contradictory, but hear me out. Maybe the fnaf 6 fire made the spirits move on because they told it would, but it wasn't hot enough to destroy the remnant. That... makes the most sense here, I think. It would explain why we see versions of these characters, but they don't seem aware. It's because they're simply a remnant of them.

It's possible certain characters didn't move on (Mike, he had both a thermometer and experience with this, could have realized it wasn't hot enough), but I think most did. (I am neutral on the glammike theory, btw. Simply pointing out these two theories are not contradictory, I am unaware of any modern theory that would contradict this one (Glitchtrap is remnant & AI with this theory btw, we know remnant can affect humans so...))

This was meant to just be a silly headcanon I came up with to smooth out some issues that have been bothering me, but I've been writing this for an hour, and I have fully convinced myself, oh no.

[A FNAF Movie Sequel fanfic, essentially]

"Abby's return to freddy's"

The New and improved freddy's, Abby was joyful to be back, Why wouldn't she ? It's everything she remembers but double the size ! She Just, doesn't like the New Animatronics. There's Something about them that rubs her the wrong way, she misses her friends. But they're interacting with everyone else just fine so maybe It's just her own sorrow taking over her head.

She was there for a reason however ! She was there to play with her new-ish School friend Cassie, She already heard of her before their friendship. Sometimes Mike would give her father a ride when they still worked at the mall.

She was great ! She loved wearing a red sweater, loved anything with Wolves and resonated with them a little too much, she was considered a "weirdo" for It in her past. Abby knew How that felt, so It made Cassie a much more huggable person.

While they explored the main arcade, a Kid emerged from the Ball with a toy freddy mask. It had empty eyes, the darkest eyes, that would scare anyone their own ones out. After Abby and Cassie screamed in fear, rightfully so, the kid took It off while giggling like a devilish goblin saying "Well Hello there New friend", Cassie now mad screamed "GREGORY, STOP DOING THAT".

The New kid who now had a name, Gregory. The prankster was small, bug eyed and looked like he would roll on dirt If given the opportunity to. He jumps out of the ball pit, he had a blue striped shirt and had Bear themed Band aids on his knees and right arm.

"Say, you're here to try to beat GGY on Polybius again ?" Said that Smug boy, Cassie replies "No you Dummy, I came to introduce you to Abby, that School friend i was talking about ! Remember ?". The Boy tilts Its Head, Analyzes her from top to Bottom with still the same Smug look.

"Yeah she's the one indeed ! Actually, have this as a gift !" The boy searched the Ballpit and got a toy of what looked like to be the "new" foxy, Abby felt conflicted at first but accepted Gregory's gift. It made him Smile from ear to ear.

"Awn, look at you two ! are already friends!" Cassie Said like she was talking to two dogs. Abby asked where he got It from and He says "freddy gave It to me" which immediately got Abby's attention, the animatronics seemed life-less compared to the older ones.

"Nuh uh he didn't" Said Cassie and Gregory replied "Yuh uh ! He's my buddy, we spent hours playing together yesterday", yet again the familiarity hit Abby. "The place was closed for maintenance yesterday ya liar" Said Cassie that took Gregory by surprise, he made a face not like he was caught lying but that he was caught almost saying something he shouldn't have said.

"Hey wanna play Hide-and-Seek ?!" Said Gregory, pointing towards a purple-ish arcade machine. The two girls agreed almost immediately, Hours and hours and hours passed as they played, laughing and running. Never Alone.

Abby bumps into Cassie's father when she went to get Ice cream for them, she apologized to him. He was a New Security guard, He had been fired from the mall for unknown reasons. It confused her a lot since he was a big strong man. Speaking of strength, He was carrying a box that appears to be full of masks.

"What are those for ?" She asked and he replied with his soft yet rich voice "We're having some problems with those shiny critters over there. So until it's resolved, Mr. Emily came up with a temporary solution that would still be fun to both employees and customers".

He takes a white rabbit mask with piercing red eyes from the Box, "But some of these seem old, I don't know if it was something they sold here in the past or just really everything in this company only looks like it was from 20 years ago" he put It back to the box, "I hope we don't get sued for giving conjunctivitis to someone" he said and started laughing like Young Santa Claus.

"Hope you are having fun" he said while leaving, Abby waved and screamed "thanks Uncle Fitzgerald" then also continued on her way to get Ice cream for her friends who were waiting at the arcade.

She still missed her fuzzy friends, She was Happy to be accompanied anyways. But those at the stage, the redish cheeked plastic made ones at the stage singing. Those still felt wrong.

This is just word vomit with like little to no punctuation of a random ADHD FNAF fuled thought train I had last night at like 2:00 a.m. like this is so rambly I'm sorry in advance XD

There is an au concept at the end though!

So I went down a rabbit hole of glam Mike theory stuff yesterday, which then evolved into Cassie's dad could be the bonnie bully from FNAF 4, which then evolved into what if Cassie's dad was also one of the technicians that we see in sister location that "went missing" to put it politely and probably what the public knows, and then that turned into since apparently from what I've heard underneath the pizza Plex is the FNAF 7 location where Michael died in the fire and then under the pizza simulator place is the sister location basement storage facility where the technician died. Which then also turned into what if the reason (ignoring the safe mode thing) Freddy couldn't be infected with the Afton virus thing was because he's possessed by Michael in some aspect and what if the reason bonnie got decommissioned was because he is also possessed so the virus thing didn't work on him, and since it didn't work on bonnie then he made Monty kill him or something I don't know. Either way he got taken out the picture so he wouldn't alert anyone and prevent afton/vanny's plans from going through. And a lot of Cassie's voice lines make it sound like her dad is missing or isn't around so I mean it would be kind of funny in a sad way if Cassie's dad is glam rock bonnie and he basically got killed twice. And the reason bonnie is still semi active is because he's possessed and that's the only thing keeping his battery going until Cassie like turns him off.

Which then got me going down the thought path of what if all the glam rocks are possessed by one of the bullies who all ended up working for fazbear entertainment somehow and dying in one of the locations that are apparently in and around and under the pizza Plex. This was seeming kind of promising for a cool AU because I highly doubt that this random thread of loosely tied together things would be canon but who knows at this point fazgoo's a thing. That is until I realized there's four bullies and even though there's four band members including bonnie that would make five meaning that one of the glam rocks is missing a bully. And I mean it would have been interesting because the whole glammike thing is like him subconsciously wanting to help Gregory because either literally or metaphorically he is like a rebuilt reincarnation or is metaphor for the crying child, and he's wanting to make up for his pretty big mistake from so many years ago, and all the other animatronics are like hunting them down or something because the Afton AI thingy is basically making them torment who they think is like the crying child again I don't know. Also at least for Freddy, Monty and bonnie they have a bully counterpart with a similar color palette. Like the bonnie bully has the same color palette as Cassie, the Freddy bully is wearing like a Monty green colored shirt and I mean it would kind of be ironic because the whole Monty wanting to replace Freddy thing, and then Michael Afton and glam rock Freddy having a lot in common even down to their arsonistic tendencies and also the fact that the outfit worn by the player character which is believed to be Michael Afton in pizzeria simulator is basically the reverse of glamrock Freddy's outfit with the whole bluey and orangey thing.

Like the more I was thinking about it the more it was weirdly lining up in some ways and I could start to understand why people like the Michael Afton is glen rock Freddy theory because I had never looked into it before, and then I found there was game theory videos where that was the entire premise that I had never seen even down to the bonnie bully thing. And I mean he explained the very chaotic rough idea I had in a much better more convincing way.

And then I went to bed because it was like 2:00 a.m. and I'm tired XD

Additionally!!!! I just thought that with the whole Michael Afton is Freddy and the bonnie bully guy is Cassie's dad and glam rock bonnie, considering the romantic involvement that glamrock bonnie and glen rock Freddy seem to have, imagine the tragic love story that you could do with Michael Afton and bonnie bully guy being like best friends who both did love each other romantically but because of the time it felt like they could say that or actually do anything about it. So they have been trying to be together their entire lives and even in their afterlives, but it seriously just does not work out every time. And plus it would bring a new meaning to the always forever thing, because you could do like a whole thing with when they were kids saying that to each other all the way up to them meeting again as adults saying that again and then bonnie and Freddy saying that to each other.

Then you could make it a happier story by having a happy ending where Cassie and Gregory and Vanessa probably managed to fix the animatronics, and since the place isn't such ruin literally I don't think they'd be able to fix the pizza Plex themselves so they just take the animatronics away in the van.

This next part here is partially inspired by a comic I saw last night, with glam rock Freddy Vanessa and Gregory all leaving at the end of security breach and then end up living in the old Afton family home by pure chance pretty much.

Which if you were bringing all the other animatronics there and whatever parts they could salvage from the remains of the pizza plex and parts and service, and then the place they end up staying at because it's the cheapest house they could find, turns out to have a bunch of animatronic making supplies in it which would be ideal. And then one of them ends up finding like a family picture with a kid in it that looks suspiciously like Gregory down to the outfit and everything, and then even crazier if they find another picture having Michael Afton and the bonnie bully guy in it and Cassie recognizes that guy as her dad.

And even more freaky if when they go into Michael's room that's when they find that picture, and on the picture is written the same "always forever" message but this time instead of being from Freddy to bonnie it's from the bonnie bully to Michael causing a lot of them to go into an existential crisis.

I think that would be funny

Ok, before I get to the point I'm trying to make I have to say this post doesn't come from hate, on the contrary, I've said before that I really like his character, but to be honest I like him more in the sense of "putting him in a petri dish and studying him🧫" rather than "this character is just like me fr" or smth like that (just let me explain it will make sense later I hope)

So, here it goes

Bonnie is a really fucking weird character

And one of the weakest overall imo

First of all, I'm comparing his character to others like him. Since not all the characters are treated the same.

The way that I see it, there are four types of characters in the series

Wow, they are really going thru it. These are the characters that have a lot of development throughout the series (like Freddy, Fred or Bon) and, more importantly, that had some visible growth onscreen (< this is important)

Hey, you got over it really fast. Unlike the first type, these characters don't have a lot of development in the story (or they had it off screen and just reappear w all their problems solved after), but are part of the story (like Chica, Joy, Fox, and Bonnie)

They sure are there, huh? These guys appear somewhat regularly and have some development, but aren't as important to the plot like the first two (Mai, Puppet, Springtrap, idk)

Haven't seen you in a while. These are the characters that barely get any attention, appearing in one episode for like every ten. Bc of this you wouldn't expect them to have any development at all (the nightmares, the funtimes)

Ok, so the category that I put Bonnie in is mainly formed of those characters that are necessary to the story, or to some characters stories. Like Joy, because she's important to Fred and Bon at some point in S2, so she gets some development, but gets thrown to the side for other things, even with that, her character is important for the plot, since she wasn't there for the contest, and she needed to be rescued by Freddy and Fred.*her character is also done so dirty, but that is for another time*

But anyways, back to Bonnie. He's relevant to the story in two ways. He's a member of the main band, and he's the romantic interest of Bon** and he doesn't have any big problems of his own w anything.

**I know that the whole bon thing is not part of the main plot, but it takes a significant part of the whole series that I'm counting it (the AUs will not be counted on the main analysis, maybe I'll cover them in here idk)

Let me do a quick recap of his role in story to make things easier 4 me.

Staring w the 1st video on fnafhs, we see what kind of person is Bonnie on a surface level

Description taken from wikifandom, this is supposedly a transcription of what edoochan says in her video "como serían los animatrónicos de FNAF si fueran adolescentes", this is not the full section of Bonnie btw, it's missing his relationships w the others, but ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

During the beginning chapters we just see him getting dragged along to the situation, being knocked over by Freddy and Fox, showing that he was sleeping in class, forced to clean the classroom w the others, and pretty much manipulated to be part of the team, assigning himself as the guitarist of the band. In them, Bonnie is just a smartass and apathetic to the world around him, to the point of sleeping in class and mentioning that he gets beaten up so much that he is inmune to it, maybe bc of his stereotypical nerdy look, and the whole "he's a little quirky and strange" bit he has going on. It's not until chapter 9 "el Bonnie oculto" until we see his ability w the guitar, and that he has like a whole different personality that he has when playing, given that the chapter is mainly the guitar cover w pictures of Bonnie and bon playing the guitar, we can only assume what this personality is. He seems to be more confident, and happy while playing, showing that the guitar is something he's really passionate abt, and that he likes to show his abilities off.

At this point we have a somewhat solid idea of who Bonnie is at the start, and of what we can expect from this character and what his role in the band will be.

Me: Boy am I excited to see how Bonnie finally gets to beat his apathy w the power of pop rock anime covers and friendship by his side :3

Look, this is where my "problem" starts, bc from this chapter forwards Bonnie's character is changed drastically. Whatever type of development he has gets put on the side just to make space for the whole "is this love or friendship? 🥺 I love my tiny gay babies". In this chapter Bonnie is looking for Bon because he wants to practice w him, and invites him to do so when he finally finds him, and doesn't wait for him to respond, assuming he will be there. Being from Bon's perspective, we don't really have any idea of what does Bonnie feel for him, y'know, besides admiration, and considering him to be better than him, also we see that Bonnie changed some parts of his personality in this chapter, he doesn't have any sarcastic or smartass comments, the "weirdness" of his actions is more prevalent (reading upsidedown, surprising Bon from a branch) and he gets his recognizable "hehehe" laugh thing.

The next chapter he makes an appearance in is "la pesadilla de Bonnie" where we see him getting beaten up by the nightmares, and defended by Fox. Later we see him in the park practicing w bon, when asked about the bruises he claims again that he is inmune to them, dismisses Bon's concern and talks abt what to practice. The next day, he is threatened by the nightmares again, but now Bon and Fox stand up for him, and he also puts a stop to the abuse, when Fox asks him why he decided to defend himself, he says is because of his friends.

He showed some development here, finally starting to take care of himself bc others care about him, and fighting against the apathy towards life in general, though since we only see Bon's point of view we can't really see how he decided to change, and how this affects his life. This means that whatever growth Bonnie has, it will be as an incentive for Bon's growth as a character, making Bonnie nothing but an objective for Bon, because "we"* as an audience are expecting these two to end up as a couple (imagine that Bonnie is that romantic interest girl in movies/books/etc. that doesn't get any development and that you're supposed to ship w the male protagonist, when he has more chemistry w his rival). Another thing that I noticed that supports this idea is the changes that were made to Bonnie's personality to fit the romantic trope. He stopped being a smartass sarcastic dude and changed into an oblivious "uwu" boy, where his funny comic relief comments play around these new characteristics, AND, on top of it all, the apathy he shows to everything, like getting his ass beaten, is changed to an "aw that sucks :/" reaction to the things that go wrong.

*"we" in this case, is the audience that was pushing the bxb ship when the series aired, since fnafhs was really influenced by what the fandom wanted, specially at the beginning, it's necessary to recognize the parts that had more influence from the fans, rather than what edoo wanted. Like, clearly, the huge amount of bxb content, both in the mainline series, and the AUs.

One funny thing I wanna mention is that from this chapter on, Bonnie and Fox are stablished as Friends™, given that it was mainly Fox the one that motivated Bonnie to defend himself, and in later chapters Bonnie is shown to be closer to Fox than the other band members (Tbh I think these two are easier to ship than the bxb imo), without leaving the others behind and showing that he cares abt the band.

His last "main" appearance before the "camp arc" (yeah that's how I call it) is in chapter 21 "Bon, amor o admiración" where he is w the band worrying abt golden, and then going to practice to Bon, giving him a personal song of his, just to be rejected by bon and him humiliating him in front of the toys. Again, we don't see his reaction to everything that just happened to him, like, imagine that the only person that you shared your most important thing with just pushes you away one day w no explanation. That is something really big that would have been an interesting character moment. But whatever, this is not what this is about. I'll just keep pointing out the moments that keep being shown as "big shipping moment 😱!!" Bc is the only time that Bonnie gets some attention, that only focus on one side of the story (mainly Bon's) anyways.

Uhh, during the "camp arc" Bonnie is just, kinda there, again, bon is the one going thru it, we see that Bonnie misses Bon, but REALLY brushes off what Bon did to him as "he's mad w me but idk y :(" and he helps out Bonsoir even after discovering that is Bon, now, when confronted by him on why he isn't mad with him, he basically answers with "dude you are really weird, but so am I, we weirdos gotta stick together" and the moment ends up in a friendzone joke.

😐 this resolution has always felt wrong for me, mainly for the way that Bonnie was handled (obviously), and the implications that the only conflict that was between him and Bon is that the later just kept avoiding an akward conversation w Bonnie. I know this may be nitpicking from my part, but I do believe that this takes away any agency that Bonnie has in the situation, not only is he not mad abt the papers, and humiliation that he got from Bon, he also brushes off the fact that bon was avoiding him during the whole camping trip, like, I'm not expecting him to go to Bon and tell him to fuck himself or smth, but at least that he mentions that he was mad at him at some point, or disappointed, it doesn't even need to be a full on chapter, some comment can do well enough, idk.

I finally got to season 2 (!!) In this one Bonnie doesn't do anything else than his usual comic relief comments (now is a mix of bluntness, misunderstanding of the situation, and tiny bit of sarcasm). Now he and bon hang around as friends, and he decides to help Bon w his issues w joy (ig he's just there for moral support, bc he doesn't do much in there). During the whole "oh no we're eliminated" thing there's nothing of interest, up until chapter 16 "verdaderos sentimientos", where Bon finds him and goes w the whole "let's find our friends, as friends" and this bitch responds like this

OH MY FUCKING GOD*

Let's unpack that later, please let me finish the series recap.

Ok, in the last chapter Bonnie thanks BON for helping him to get friends, and the band and stuff, letting he know how much he appreciates him, and before gets to respond he goes to help the other w the thing that is happening to Fox.

Aight, now that I showed Bonnie's development throughout the series (and gave my analysis and opinion on it) I will just point out the general issues that the character has.

First, there's the lack of clear development and growth. Even though he is necessary for the story of Bon, he doesn't do anything in the series, as I said before, he, such as other characters, lacks a conflict, and the ones he's in are related either to Bon or the band (one way we can see how much attention a character gets is w the amount of solo songs they sing in series, Bonnie doesn't have any)

The second thing is that the only way we see Bonnie is trough an outsider perspective (mainly Bon's), so any development he gets, it will be incomplete bc we never see his journey to whatever resolution he gets.

Then there's the thing that makes Bonnie so interesting to me, his character, unlike the others that are like him, is being constantly changed to fit Bon's conflict,* this makes him really ambiguous of "who" is Bonnie. When the Bon subplot was introduced he was changed to fit the uwu romantic interest, then, his carefree (or apathetic) personality is used to excuse Bon's actions*, and THEN when Bon finally starts to accept Bonnie as only a friend is shown to us that now is BONNIE the one with the crush to create more conflict between them(I hate the "will they, will they not" trope)* that will never be solved bc the series is cancelled anyways. These changes make Bonnie a less defined character, and since he is mainly used in Bon story, other interesting aspects of his character are put aside and ultimately forgotten.

*other characters like Chica, for example, that are less developed are still well defined, even if it is shallow, chica is pretty much the same throughout the series, this is the case w Joy and Fox, for example.

*not that Bon is without guilt, he is really the one who gets development of all this mess, but that the fact that Bonnie doesn't give it much thought to Bon's actions pretty much gives the idea that "it wasn't such a big deal". Tbh, I want to make an analysis on Bon later but he is SO MUCH MORE messed up than Bonnie, if this thing is long I can't imagine how will the Bon analysis turn out 😵‍💫

*that last scene really bothers me for a few reasons, does it mean that Bonnie has feelings for Bon?, If so, since when?, Did he go through the same inner conflicts as Bon?, If the feelings are recent, what started? Are the feelings romantic? Was this supposed to be more bait for the viewers? Who knows, I'll try to not think too hard abt it

Well, I guess that's all I had to say, of course it looks really negative, but I really like him, I enjoy his funny comments in the series, his whole relationship with Fox, and I'm very fond of the "weird, probably autistic coded" trope, I find him relatable at times, uh what else? I liked the route they took for him on zer0* and he's always been one of my favorites, even when I first started watching the series and hadn't developed this opinion of mine, and even now, these things that I do are one of the way that I interact w my interests (why couldn't I be satisfied enough with just drawing characters in solid backgrounds? unu)

*I'm making this quickly, but I think it's neat how they took on Bonnie's apathy and developed trough it, I don't think it was necessary to make a whole new character to justify it or whatever they wanted to do tho. I also want to dive into the zer0 series later lol
