Give up my way and lose myself | March 4, 2034.

Wolfsbane weakened him, the taste bitter and vile, even diluted. It burned, his stomach churning, even after days of preparation. As if he started early, this would all hurt less, but that was a thought for a fool's comfort.

The chains dragged across the ground as he moved. The cellar was damp and dark, not the woods where he'd have preferred to take this. However, safety was of utmost importance tonight. Even that comfort was missing from his first turn. He knew he had to find a state of calm, to accept it, but he paced anxiously instead. "When I say go, I need you to go," he reminded her, "stay in the compound, you'll be safe."

This was between him and his father. A battle still raging long after the embers of the home they shared were dimmed to dormant ash. The last of his father's power over him was realized: they were the same monster. They would break the same, twist and contort the same, scream the same. Look at me and trust me when I tell you, that you are not the same. The last pain his father would cause...this is the last pain his father would cause.

"I know violence..." His body shifted, shoulders rolled as if to battle the tension or to ready itself. His temperature felt too high, like he was burning from inside out. Let it in, he reminded himself, let it swallow you.

His fathers' fist collided against his jaw, his chest, his arm extended in self-protection, the assault continued unrelenting.

His body held on, a living memory, the imprint on his skin. Scars told their stories, and what healed left invisible marks.

"I know violence..."

A grab of a collar, a swing...hands around his throat, squeezing until oxygen no longer flowed.

The body remembered.

"I know violence..."

Jabs from more delicate fingers, the way it radiated through him. He'd been beaten so many times, and yet, that had caused the most pain.

"I know violence..."

A sensation in his jaw, a crack perhaps, something else broken. The cycle returning to his family.

"I know pain." He gazed up, unable to see the moon from here, but he could feel her. "So come on," he breathed, begging for it to begin. To be over.

"It doesn't stop, does it?" He finally asked for confirmation he didn't need. There would be no blacking out, no escaping somewhere else, he would feel every second of it.

Without warning, his arm twisted, snapping in multiple places at once, and he screamed. Crumbling to the ground, feeling everything begin to shift inside, he braced himself with his other hand as he gagged on the feeling his organs were rearranging. "Billie--" he begged, choking out between groans of agony, "go get her...Riley, please. I--I need..." As chain scraped against the concrete, he reached for the shirt instead, the one she made sure he had, the one with her scent, collapsing with neither arm to hold him up. "I'm sorry," he mumbled as his lip trembled as violently as the pull of the moon on his body, "I'm sorry...but it--it hurts."

He finally became quieter again, convulsing on the ground. "My girls," he mumbled, as the closeness of Riley filled his senses in combination with the shirt he held firm in his grip. He did it all for them, the best of him. Shifting his weight across the floor, he laid his head in Riley's lap, trying to get a good breath but he couldn't fully. The breaths were short, labored, quick. The urge to fight was too strong, to not let it take him. "Is it ironic that I feel like I'm on fire? That's ironic, right? Is it funny? A little...?" He couldn't stop shaking, tears making track after track down his cheeks as he blathered away in near incoherence.

His breathing became a hyperventilation, and he could feel more coming. "No...no...no," he pleaded, jerking away from her as the bones cracked, joints popped out of sockets, an unspeakable pain all the way down his back. From somewhere visceral, the power of his own screams seemed almost raised him off the earth. "Stop! Make it stop," he cried, "it hurts, it hurts, it hurts..."

They were too far gone now, and there was no return. The time had felt like half a dozen eternities. "Go," he finally demanded, looking up to meet the eyes of his best friend. The other half of his soul. He fought to hold it back as long as he could, but he knew. His uncle was right. He knew what he had to do, and though his mother had been speaking of her ring in the moment, he heard her still: accepting this won’t mean you’re being beaten.

"It's time." With a sense of unusual calm as if they lingered briefly in the eye of the storm, he could only mouth the words, "I love you." Eyes closing, he felt the moon and in the same way he'd learned to let magic flow through him, he allowed it to take him. He let it in. His body thrown back like it was going to be folded in half, ankles twisting, wrists snapping, spine contorting and reforming, the sounds of breaking created a cacophony paired his own piercing cry as it filled the room. When his eyes reopened, they had found their shift to glowing golden.

That's how you got here, how you escaped him because you're too full of life for darkness to take you.

From deep within, he pulled from all his strength and released a final guttural cry until it transitioned into a growl, wordless and untamed. All that was Briggs Mikaelson became something else. He clamored on the chains, fighting his own captivity. The moon at its apex in the sky had at last swallowed him whole.

But he had learned something that night: he hadn't known pain at all. Nor had he known his own strength.

This could not break him.

I do feel like we’re going to see at least SOMETHING from Eddie in S5. Even if we just get a dream sequence or flashback type situation similar to what we had from Billy in S4.

I recall reading an interview with the Duffers and they said (paraphrasing from memory here) that Eddie had to die because it was going to be important to Dustin’s arc and the development of the S5 storyline. In this interview (https://youtu.be/a8EIGgJyqO8) they also (loosely) compare Eddie’s fate to the scenes with Billy and Max.

There’s so much unfinished detail around that ending as well …. I mean - aside from Dustin nobody even seemed bothered that he died. And it was only 2 days later (?)

I do totally think that Eddie is going to appear, and it makes totall sense that B*lly and Eddie's deaths are compared since they both have an important member of the party watching them die with nothing that they can do to avoid it, so, yes. I totally agree with that.

I also think we're going to see Barb again for this very same reason.

And as for the last bit that you shared... well. If I think that it is a cheap trick or not, I'll tell you that some part of me is wishing that Eddie has alive and under the government wing, but he has to go officially dead and not even Wayne can know about this... I just, I don't know. I know he was bitten pretty bad and stuff, but, come on, maybe in a lighter way, but Steve was bitten pretty badly too, and two days later he was folding donated clothing, and driving, and carrying boxes, and moving so freely... I don't know, wishful thinking, I guess. I might get mad if that actually happens because that would mean that more than a year of grieving and a fandom riot will lose part of its meaning, but... yeah.

I want him well and healthy and alive and very much in love with Steve

Hello tags, and a blather about productivity & rest under the cut!

I want to say a huge thank you to every kind human who sent me their blessings and good wishes for a restful Sunday. It’s been a weekend full of R&R over in this here lazaretto (as my spouse and I call our haunted house), filled with good pizza, daytime naps, luxurious head scritches, and cackling over the anime My Next Life as a Villainess (which is hysterical. Everybody’s gay for the protagonist. Everybody).

I wrote a lot of Jelly Babies at what is (for me) a truly insane place, churning out the first 6-7 chaps in a weekend because I could not. Stop. Thinking about it. This was followed by three days where I was put on a steroid, Prednisone, for a post-COVID ear infection, and it made me VERY ENERGETIC and VERY UNFILTERED (good for writing Gregory, in other words), and I felt a lot like that gif of the cat smashing at the keyboard.

Then the slump hit, as it invariably does! I do truly feel incredibly blessed when my trio of the DMC (the Daemon, Muses, and Creativity) take over and I can write and write and write. But I know enough now about that process to brace for the impact when the DMC leave and I am just a human again, left to tend to my fleshy body and to learn how to walk again when before I was able to fly.

Writing and posting Jelly Babies is a huge push out of my comfort zone, which is good for me. It's so funny to me now, looking back on this post about Why I don't usually post WIPs. "The tears of Mummers House" was such a good exercise in posting a WIP, but that was like wading in a kiddie pool whereas now, with Jelly Babies, I feel like I have firmly pushed myself into the deep end (in the good way). Bless COC and every human (looking at you, @sailorblossoms) who has been an inspiration for just making the work, putting it out there, and Having Fun With It.

I really struggled with whether to take a break from posting today. Part of my brain was like "But my family is STARVING, I have to FEED them" and a much more sensible part was like, "Every single person reading this story would wrap you up in blankets and tell you to take a nap." So again, thank you for being wonderful, and I'm so excited to return with more sweet baby gays tomorrow! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The ask from the anti would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. They really think they did something trying to imitate how Billy fans talk about him, but just look stupid by saying two things Billy never even did lmao. Like, is Billy really that bad if you have to make up things to be mad over? The worst part is their fellow idiots would take that ask seriously and blather on about how Billy fans are pure evil, even though anyone with critical thinking could pinpoint how the only people who say Billy did those things are antis and put 2 and 2 together. I give it a 3/10, they need to try harder.

Really really late Day 5 prompt: Soulmate

Compared to some of his peers, Eddie Munson was average. Average in height, build, and also academics. All but in the means of his soulmate. He couldn't remember a time when he hadn't heard their voice. The softly modulated voice was so easy to concentrate on. He would lose himself in the rambles. 

The first time he heard his soulmate's voice was an odd day. His belly was aching and he was bored and his stomach rumbled. He couldn't comprehend why his father was lying against the washing machine, his favorite snack spread across the counter. But he did remember that it was nightfall by the time his mother came home finding him curled up to his father's side playing with his fingers. As he listened to the beautiful honey babble-like rambling that invaded his head. Talk of becoming a mermaid to swim with sharks and orcas and to visit the deep blue and living under the sea. 

He told his mother watching as she smiled tears in her eyes. She told him that the voice was his soulmate. She explained that the voice couldn't hear him yet, it just wasn't time for that sweet child to hear all his wonderful stories. 

A couple of years later he was outside a trailer meeting his new guardian, his Uncle. He didn't tell Wayne everything at first, especially things that deal with his mate. Yet Wayne somehow knew everything about him. To this day he still didn't know how the elder just knew about his mate but he was grateful. Especially the day he heard pure distress in his lovely siren. 

Billy got his first sign that he had a soulmate at the ripe age of nine. It was a cool summer day, he got his first surfboard and couldn't have been happier. He was so excited to learn how to use it the next day. It was also the day he saw his father hit his mom. 

He remembers screaming at him to stop. He remembers jumping in front of her and he remembers watching both parents run out of the house in separate directions. The first word he heard was Smaug, it was muttered softly in a way as if the person wasn't sure it would be heard. It soon became hyper erratic blather about the inconsistent writing to the image drawn in what Billy guessed was a book. The chatter made a quick shift to how amazing it would be to become a wizard. The passionate euphonic wordy nonsense eased his distress so easily. It drowned out all the negativity he felt in his house. The sound of the voice eased his distress and later the next day Billy went to the library to learn more about this amazing fantasy world. 

That day Billy learned that he had a mate and that he could talk to him via his thoughts. They would read to one another, and listen to music every chance they could and how it made them feel. Eddie knew of Billy's abuse and how his father moved him and his step[ family to a small town cross country. He's away from his family, and his friends. All he had now was a voice in his head. 

Eddie was grinning his eyes far off as he leaned against the school wall. HE chuckled listening to the whiny complaints that could all go wrong. 

'You'll be fine.' 

Eddie could feel the eye roll, as he heard the mocking tone of his words. 

'Says you. They'll eat me alive.' Billy groaned slamming his car door, a high pitch whine following. Eddie couldn't help the bright laugh that bubbled up before stating allowed. 

"No one could resist you, Ocean." 

'Whatever you say, Moon.' 

Eddie looked up staring at a blonde male. His bright eyes shined in the sun as he looked around retucking his shirt. Eddie felt his heart race. 

"Siren." Those ocean-blue eyes turned to him.

The pretentious monolog coming from his mouth is virtually all the spoken word employed in this feature, with Steele emphasizing his trademark dreamy erotic visuals rather than blather. Julian, with his big dick saved for some mighty close-ups later on, stars and narrates directly to the camera this showcase of beautiful models that he shoots and humps. Even the creative musical score by his master teammate Saint features recycled music from other efforts of theirs. Nicholas Steele and his trusty Adam & Eve team made many classic XXX features at the turn of this century, with this being a decidedly lesser one.

Oh now I feel terrible, because I am so not the person to ask this! 😅😅 Sorry, I’m just very, very new to the Animal Crossing fandom. New Horizons is my first title in the series that I’ve ever played. And my progress is pretty slow, as well. The other day I was planning to grind for some iron to donate for the shop...but Blathers’ museum opened and I swear I spent like fifteen minutes just wandering around and exploring it, because it was so pretty....🤩

I’m getting off-topic, but I don’t know who the various villagers are or what their personality types would be classified as. One thing I do know though, is that Rowan is Blathers and Blathers is Rowan. They are both adorable nerds and I love them. 

Blathers might be my favorite character...but it could also be Billy, a little goat boy who lives on my island. He’s the sweetest thing and he reminds me of Barnaby.

Sorry if this comes out wrong but I’m honestly sort of confused by people like you who claim to be genderqueer but present in an obviously feminine way. Like if you want to be acknowledged as not a woman why do you dress like one, not bind, and have a women’s haircut. Feel free to not answer if this is too intrusive. I just am trans masc and I have trouble understanding other afabs who do that.

ngl, i did kinda bounce around not answering this for a hot minute, because yeah, it is pretty intrusive, and a lot of it kind of comes off as bad faith-ish? (i’m sure you didn’t mean it, but the whole “you claim to be genderqueer but you do Lady Thing so what is the truth!” can come off as pretty dang shitty.)

being genderqueer (or, like, nonbinary in general) can mean a lot of different things to different people, and similarly the presentation can vary pretty heavily. the thing is that, like, it’s pretty fuckin’ rare that most people look at anyone and think “not a man or a woman.” shitty, but true. there’s not really a fun shorthand for presenting as nonbinary. most of the things you’re bringing up are just tips for presenting as male, which is also not right for me. if i want to be acknowledged as not a man and also not a woman, i generally need to explicitly say it, no matter what i’ve got on.

a man wearing eyeliner and a dress doesn’t make him any less of a man, a woman wearing men’s flannels and jeans and no makeup doesn’t make her less of a woman, and me wearing whatever the hell i pull out of my closet doesn’t make me any less whatever the hell i’ve got going on
