I know that we see Barty more as the one that goes and puts graffiti onto trains and abandoned buildings, but what if Remus catched him spraying a part of the school or even the Shrieking Shack. Barty thinks he's about to get into trouble, but instead Remus tells him to hand over a can and starts working on his own thing next to Barty. Barty who is perplexed and confused of how this obvious nerd and guy-who-always-follows-the-rules is so comfortable wih graffiti. He doesn't know, of course, that in the Muggle world Remus' friends were a bit unlawful and he used to tag along with them - still does every summer.

So the two of them meet up time and time again to spray the most random places with their art, Barty shows Remus how to enchant graffiti to move and Remus teaches him certain techniques. After a while they aren't just friends anymore who occasionally break the law together - they start to turn into lovers. They make out whenever they meet up in secret, sometimes even sneaking into the Head Boy dorm to fuck.

It starts becoming their dirty little secret, they even created a tag of their 2 names together. Barty knows if Evan finds out, he'd turn insane, and so does Remus think about Sirius. They're both in relationships, they cant be together, yet they can't live without the others touch. Remus starts to tell Barty about his childhood in the Muggle world, how life was in the Orphanage, about his friends and he junkies there. Barty starts telling Remus about his father, how he never gives him the freedom he needs and deserves. The two of them get closer over time, even emotionally.

At some point it was so obvious that they were cheating on their partners that Sirius and Evan meet up to plan revenge. Barty and Remus don't notice of course, they're too interested in each other to pay attention to them. During planing that revenge, Sirius starts to realise that Remus isnt worth it, and begins to see why Barty is together with Evan. It takes its sweet time, but after a while Remus and Barty aren't the only cheaters in the relationship - Sirius and Evan start dating in secret too.

we always assume its a relationship built on hatred but thats not it. its a relationship of equals. two people who arent afraid to push bc they know the other will push back. an arms race but for self actualisation. we jus interpret it as hatred bc the most immediate example of a spades relationship is erisol and those two bitches fuckin hate each other
