manifest with me ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
before we start: one thing i like to do while manifesting is to pretend to be blair waldorf from gossip girl while repeating affirmations (if you don't know who she is, watch this). now, i'm not romanticizing arrogance or self-centredness, and i would NOT advise anyone to do so. however, i feel that embodying blair's confidence and persona really helps me get into my abundance mindset. this is what i do, but feel free to proceed as you wish!
my fav affs (none of these are mine, add or reduce as you wish ୨୧)
study : - i love being an academic overachiever - my attitude towards studying is perfect - i always understand complex topics easily - i love my efficient time management skills - my mind is always in the best condition - i have sharp memory and i easily understand and retain whatever i study - working on assignments is so fun for me - i feel incredibly focused when studying - my mind is free from any distractions - i love that i can easily focus for a long period of time - any subject i study for, is always far too easy for me - i really enjoy studying and revising - i am always relaxed during exams - exams are fun - getting good grades is natural for me - i pass all my exams with a perfect score
lucky girl syndrome : - i am the luckiest girl in the world - i have the best self-concept - every situation works out in my favour - every day goes by in my favour - everything works out the way i want it to - i'm always at the right place at the right time - only good things happen to me - i only experience the best outcomes - i get the perfect things at the perfect time - everything i want is always following me - i only deserve the best, and recieve the best - everything goes better than planned - good things keep flowing in my direction - i am destined to have everything i desire - everything i want is mine right now - i am so lucky, it's unexplainable - why are things so perfect for me? - why am i so loved? - why am i so abundant? - why do oppurtunities consistently come my way? - why am i so blessed? - why am i so confident now? - why do people love to support me? - why am i so good at creating wonderful opportunities? - why do i attract people who bring so much happiness into my life? - why am i so happy when i look at myself in the mirror? - why am i such a magnet to success? - why is my life getting better and better every single day?
hope you like these, stay tuned for part 2 (will include some additional tips on manifesting effectively) !!

so according to variety magazine/website both rise of pink ladies and city on fire do quality for emmys. so in both shows which actors deserved the honors and why
for rise of the pink ladies
the girls
Cheyenne Isabel Wells (Olivia) i think deserves at least a nom for rise of the pink ladies, she was so good all season at everything. Her comedic timing, dramatic beats. She was believable as a teenage girl hopelessly in love with her teacher and trying to move on past him to someone better and more age appropriate.
Tricia Fukuhara (Nancy) absolutely deserves recognition for her comedy. She had me in stiches every time she appeared on screen. She may not have had that much of a storyline until the later part of the season, but she delivered every time. Her intensity of the comedy really sold it for me.
Supporting girls
Madison Thompson (Susan) I'm a little biased, because I'm a sucker for a "defrosting ice queen" trope. (think brooke davis, naomi clark, blair waldorf)
her storyline was tragic and she started off so frigid and sealed off, rightfully with what's happened to her. But watching her soften and open up, she really did an incredible job.
I do think they might manage a nom for original score or original song. (the cynthia and lydia one, the name is escaping me)
As for city on fire
Jemima Kirke (Regan) broke my heart some many times especially in the flash back where it explains the rift between her and William. And then during the blackout in the finale with Keith, she really carried the adult storyline for me.
and as much as I love and adore city on fire, I don't really see any other acting noms coming from the show, however, art direction????
Rebecca Lord-Surratt (art director) city on fire was one of the most beautiful things I've seen this year. I loved everything about the stylistic choices made and like the popart motif worked into the real world through Sam's eyes???? so incredibly well done.

Hey, I'm new to your account. I was scrolling through the tags and saw your irl Jason post. Girl you got me hooked (and making me believe good men still exist.)
Girl HOLD ON TO HIM. HE'S A WALKING GREEN FLAG. I'M SO SO HAPPY FOR YOU!! YOU DESERVE HIM.
May I find a good one as well. Also how does cheer work? Is it like the movies cause it isn't a big thing from where I'm from (they only love basketball and volleyball) and is you fashion style like Blair Waldorf? I'm asking out of curiosity 😅
sorry for the many questions
omg hi welcome to my blog i’m so happy you like everything it makes me so happy 💓💓!! trust me i am not letting him go at all and i believe you will find someone just as good as he is to me and no don’t apologize for asking questions i love answering them it makes me happy
so how cheer works is i do in school cheer and outside competition cheer and i would say in school cheer is nothing like the movies at all yes you get to wear the cute uniforms but you have to be careful with everything you do so like all that partying you see in the movies you can’t do that you can’t even curse but your also doing competitions with other schools and seeing who has the best routine and it’s a lot of work and then how outside school cheer works is your doing competitions against your state and city cheer gyms so it’s a lot more harder than school cheer and i truly believe it’s a sport with all the training you do i’m a base and a flyer (but in my opinion base is so much better) a base is who holds the flyer and a flyer does all the fun tricks in the air and that’s who the base holds up (i really hope i explained this the best way)
YES MY STYLE IS COMPLETELY BLAIR WALDORF FUN FACT MY MOM USED TO WORK IN FASHION BEFORE I WAS BORN SO I HAVE TONS OF BLAIRS OUTFITS LIKE HER WHITE PARTY DRESS AND HER SKATING OUTFIT I ALSO LOVE CHARLOTTE YORK STYLE JUST AS MUCH AS BLAIR
(also sorry i used all caps i got really excited when you asked about my style 😙)

You know I'm obsessed with your opinions so need to send you a make you choose... :)
Brooke Davis or Blair Waldorf (and why)? Obviously they're both queens, so there are no wrong answers here :)
OTH or Gossip Girl overall?
Serena or Marissa?
Ryan Atwood or Seth Cohen? (I know this is a cruel and difficult one!)
Here you go.
Blair Waldorf - I just love her and want her to have all the good things. Blair comes off as a stuck-up rich girl, but she has hidden depths. Her insecurities that stem from an emotionally abusive mother and abandonment by her father and Serena manifest as her eating disorder and a wall built to keep her safe. These things show her vulnerability. Blair protects her friends like a boss no matter what. She rallied all of them to take down Georgina when she was messing with Serena, and they weren't all on good terms at the time. There's probably tons more I could say, but I won't. Blair has quite the growth journey throughout the show. She makes me proud.
One Tree Hill - The story has more depth to me, and as you know, I love Lucas and Peyton.
Serena - I have issues with Serena, but I can't stand Marissa. Period. I do like Serena when she is being a good friend, sister, girlfriend, etc.
Ryan Atwood - I love them both for different reasons, but Ryan is my favorite, no question. He is the kindest, purest soul. He truly deserved the life the Cohens adopted him into, except for all that crap with Marissa. He deserved much better than that.

out of curiosity, what are the readership numbers like for pairings like date or jennate that aren’t fully rare pairs the way haizen is, but aren’t dair/chair/serenate-tier either? outside of dair stories, which have gotten the most hits for you in the gg fandom?
It's hard to say. I mean, I'm not the data scientist in my friend group (though we do have one!), and I can really only go from what my ao3 stats are and what I know of my own information behavior as a fic reader.
my date fic with the highest amount of hits is 1.3k hits, and that is significantly less than the fics with the highest numbers. but, those high number fics - while all centered around dair, are long, multi-chaptered stories, and the date fic mentioned is a smut oneshot.
my big jenate fic has a pretty decent hit count of 1.1k, but I also tagged dair as a background ship, because they are present in the story, so a reader, though they don't seek out jenate fic on the reg, would see it in the dair tag and maybe take a glimpse at it.
And, when looking at the ao3-generated bar graph of stats on my most recent fic, my last four completed works are all oneshots of various fic genres, but 2 are strictly dan/nate, 1 is nate/dan/blair, and 1 is dair. The three non-dair oneshot have only about one-third of the hits that the dair oneshot received.
which is just to say, there's a lot of variables to compare, and while I love love love that ao3 has a statistics page for writers, the way to get that kind of granular data just is not readily available.
maybe is just because of my little fandom ecosystem, but there are more date shippers about that are reading and writing for that pairing, so I'd say that's my second most popular main ship with I write, but to be fair I have not written much outside of that.
but this discrepancy isn't only about ship to ship comparisions. fics that aren't romantic-ship-centric get significantly less hits. my all time lowest numbers are for character study oneshots that have nothign to do with said character's romantic relationships. (like I have one about jenny and my tattoo headcanons for her, and one that is JUST about dan & milo. only dan and milo. not date and milo or dair and milo).
but that makes sense, right? the tags that I have pinned to my ao3 homepage are ships, and that is typically how I browse. because GG has a wiiiiiiiide range of ship preferences, so the main tag has got to be pandemonium (that's also why I never check the main gg tag here on tumblr. if a post is good it will make it through S's peer review process <3). So, the only way *I* know about new fics that aren't about the ship tags that I have my eye on, is if one is written and posted by one of my writer subscriptions. aka, like all my mutuals [affectionate]
and maybe another reason is that dair is a very unifying kind of ship. It's sort of the umbrella under which many GG meta opinions fall, such as: Season 6 Is Fake; Dan Humphrey Is Not Gossip Girl (unless it's funny); Chuck Bass Is Terrible, Actually; She [insert name of any woman character here] Deserved Better; End the Girlbossification of Blair Waldorf; and Rufly is Endgame -- dair kind of intersects with all of those opinions, so it's sort of a gathering point for fandom. I know it was for me, and from there I've branched out into exploring so much more about this garbage fire of a teen soap [affectionate/derogatory]. Dair is perhaps the most universal of the non-canon GG ships, so it's a common point for many people, which could explain why, as a point of intersection, it gets more vested interest from fic writers and readers. And, speaking as a writer, it's easier for me to write dair because I know people will care about it, it's hard to put in the time for something - even if you love it and the idea - if you feel like it's not going to reach anyone.
But all that said, I don't think any of these circumstances are an overall Bad Thing. I mean, of course I would hope that if someone liked my dair fanfic enough they would like to read something about another ship, or maybe something i wrote that's not "about" a ship at all, but the lovely wonderful thing about ao3 is that you can construct your searches to your own preferences, you can choose to exclude themes and ships and tags that you don't want to read about, and in a fandom like this one where there are so many strong and polarizing preferences, it is so unbelievably nice that if you choose too, you can section yourself off from what you don't want to see, and explore what you do. And I too, am extremely picky about writing quality, if I click on a fic I want it to be good and take me out of my cynical head for a minute or two, so I tend to stick to writers that I know do really great work (and if I follow you then you are one of them that's just how that works <3)
I guess if there's a moral to the story it's: if there is a dair fic writer you love, check out their full list of works and see if there's something you missed because it wasn't in that tag, and if you like it, tell them! they will love it!

Gossip Girl rewatch final thoughts…
The couples that ended up with each other deserved one another 🤷🏻‍♀️
Even till the last episode, Chuck broke Blair’s heart once again and didn’t even congratulate her on her success of Waldorf Designs. And literally only married her as a ploy to run away from the consequence of being there when his father died. However Blair didn’t give af and ignored everything to be with him so.. there you go
Dan and Serena hurt each other so badly, with the sex tape and the release of the exposé, so they literally were made for each other 😭 still, they were always finding their way back to each other throughout the show
My opinion on Serena and Nate did not change, literally throughout their relationship Serena kept choosing other men over Nate, and when it came down to Nate vs Dan, she chose Dan once again
Jenny had the best development, even till her last moment on the show, she took accountability of what happened with Serena and helped take down Juliet, one thing that Vanessa completely ran away from. She had a successful career and fought for her shit instead of waiting for something to happen.
And with Vanessa, she had the worst development. She was tolerable and had morals in the beginning but literally threw one of her longest friends, Jenny, under the bus multiple times and even blamed her for everything, something that Jenny herself wouldn’t have done. She completely disregarded Dan’s feelings and everyone else’s.
Eric deserved better, he was literally just there. Sure he tried to take Jenny down and his storyline with coming out, but his mental health and journey as a gay guy in the upper east side was completely glossed over. They ‘solved’ it by sending him away to college and mentioned him very briefly after that. But truly, what happened with him? We saw him in the finale but what??
Nate man, i love him but he deserved more. They gave him that storyline of being the head of the spectator but even then he was just there as well. Giving him older women to groom him when he was 18 and again at 20. Sure he was more ‘mature’ than the average teen but nahh, that’s still pretty traumatic for a kid. And i hate how they gave him that 17 yr old to date in the last season. Also him following in his father’s footsteps of committing fraud was so fucked of the writers ☹️

Spotted: A sad looking Chandler Ford holding a note of some sort. Maybe a break up note to our Queen Bee? Honestly, if it is, good for him! He really does deserve better and there are plenty of beautiful women waiting for him to be single again. Sabrina may act like she's all that, but we all know that the only reason she's only relevant and the current Queen Bee of Constance is because 1. She's related to Blair Waldorf. 2. Both Monet de Haan and Julien Calloway have graduated Constance. Come on Sabrina, take your head out ot of your ass and see what's right in front of you. He won't be waiting and willing to be your King forever.  XOXO, Gossip Girl @iamchandlerford

I think I never felt as sad as I’m doing now for Dan
Dan Humphrey is literally my Gossip Girl male crush since the first episode and now that I just finished 5x04, I think I can say I never felt as sad for him as I’m doing now. And the way the writers wrote this episode to make him end all alone reminds me of what is going to happen when he’ll be revealed to be Gossip Girl (it makes so less sense. Like in 5x03 he’s LITERALLY alerting Chuck (I promised myself I wouldn’t write about him but in this episode ALAS, he was actually essential) on the fact that Gossip Girl spy all of his moves and that he doesn’t want him to end up on the site.)
What makes me sad here is that we realize that deep down, Dan has no friends who will put him first like Serena and Blair can do for each other despite the toxicity of their relationship. Dan can finally enjoy a bit of success and light that isn't due to the fact that he dated Serena. He was afraid of being abandoned by his friends because of a satirical book. And as incredible as it may seem, Chuck Bass is the only one who understands the meaning of this word. Dan NEVER said that this book was an autobiography, it was even an "inspired" novel of his life, as he kept saying. And instead of having the support he should have from his closest friends, he reaps an anger that he had seen coming in the book and that he had written in the hope that it would allow them to understand that he had no bad intentions. And since each of them is selfish and self-centered, all of them have made the choice to focus on "their" character and not read the book in full. I suspect that this will change in the next episodes but here, Dan was there, desperately seeking the support of his loved ones and receiving none.
And can we talk for two minutes about the toxicity of Rufus' words? This is not the first time he has ripped out the heart of one of his children with the worst words they could hear. What could be more horrible for a child than to hear that his father is ashamed of him? And Dan and Jenny can confirm that nothing is harder to hear. But I think it's worth another post. Here I focus on Dan and the 5x04 because I'm not quite done.
In this episode I think the attitude that disappoints me the most is Nate's. Nate didn't even pretend to be interested in the novel. And for good reason, it is not in his interests. Dan only repeated throughout the novel that all this was not necessarily true to reality and everyone seemed ready to accept it. Nate had no problem with a character inspired by him being gay. On the other hand, while he does not even know what the novel is about, as soon as he learns that he is not "alone" to have inspired his character since he shares that of Eric. And then, instead of doing what any BEST friend would do, which is read the book or call Dan to ask him if he should see a problem with it, he calls Dan to call him a false friend. What makes no sense is that Nate does NOT know what he is talking about since he has NOT read the book. It leaves me quite speechless that we could have made everyone's best friend act like this. Especially when that day was so important to Dan.
For Blair, let's say that with her pregnancy we can possibly understand her mood swings but she is supposed to share the same intellectual level as Dan and they like the same novels as a rule. I find it hard to understand that she holds Dan to account for writing false things about her relationship with him. I mean... He NEVER said that everything was true, they were the ones who imagined it. Except that Blair's reaction is probably the hardest for him to hear. Of course, as blind as she is, she doesn't see how much he is in love with her. But I still have Dan's lost and confused look in mind when she tells him that their friendship is over for good. She broke his heart when it was not necessary at all. After... it's Blair but after everything he did for her in the previous episode and... actually since they are friends, it's terribly unfair to throw a sentence like this at him. Not to mention how she keeps reminding him that he's far off her priority list. In fact, I think the biggest problem with this story lies there. This book showed how far Dan was on everyone's list of priorities. So far away, that the idea that he can be successful without having been perfect in the image they had of themselves makes them cruel.
Serena probably has the most reason to be hurt I guess. She was the one who had the worst portrait after all. But it's also based on facts and the way she seems to think he has to see her the way she wants him to see her is very toxic. Of course I can understand her pain by reading this especially since Serena and self-mockery are not great friends. But the acts she had in the episode are only a reflection of what he was describing. The Serena of the book exist as much as the amazing Serena, always there for her friends, that she wanted to see. Except that instead of accepting her bad sides, she blamed Dan for them. So I wouldn't dwell on her reaction because on the one hand I conceive and understand it perfectly. But on the other hand, she acted in the most selfish way I would say. Because she is the one who knew the most what writing and a publication meant to Dan and she still ruined this event. As for Lily's transparency, let's not talk about it. The writers never wrote a relationship between Dan and her so I can conceive of it.
As for Rufus' attitude, it makes me very uncomfortable because in addition to reacting like a child when he is an adult and an artist who is supposed to differentiate between reality and fiction, he sees his son suffer, he sees him drown in a universe he doesn’t know and lose all his friends and what does he do? He pushes his head under water. Rufus is presented as an incredible father but here, he voluntarily chooses to smear Dan's evening by specifying
last night it was the launch of your career so I didn't want to say anything but...
a phrase that is enough to destroy what was supposed to be a beautiful memory for his son. And Rufus knows it.
Which brings me to the worst part of this little essay. Chuck Bass. The fact that this character that I hate with all my heart (except with Vanessa and Eva and his dog) is the only one who has been mature enough to support Dan (in a way he did not be too cruel he at least has this merit) because he knew how to distinguish fiction and reality makes it all the more difficult to see this episode which once again shows all the sides of the Upper East Side.
So I think I'm going to go to bed because this episode really put me in all my states. Dan Humphrey deserved better.
