And have her ask Blake if Faunus sniff each other's butts (RWBY Anthropology), and puts on animal ears in front of Blake (RWBY Anthropology), and have her comment about how Blake's ears are the reason why Yang likes her romantically even though that's relating Blake to a cat (Vol 9), and have her never giving a damn about Blake's cause in the Faunus civil rights conflict when she still has it.

Hey CRWBY, if all of this canonically means that Yang is a fucking racist, why do you still have her do it? :)

just to clear this up, liking abusive characters is not a moral failing. some of my favourites have been varying levels of abusive & some of them are not interested in redemption.

denying that a character is clearly abusive because they're your fave is what sets my teeth on edge. especially when the most is done to make them a perpetual victim at the expense of ignoring this abuse or even victim blaming their canon victim. that shits weird.

crazy to think that blakes lack of agency starts immediately after v3. like if sun hadnt been there in menagerie, she wouldnt have done anything. sun was the one the entire time pushing to find out more about the white fang. hes the one that even discovered illia and got her scroll with all its information! without sun blake would have just been coddled and drunk tea with her family and moped until they were surprise attacked and then she would have been deafeated (through the power of teamwork on the bad guys side might i add, meta analysis on how the villains of the show consistently reinforce the idea of teamwork to accomplish a goal better than our heroes incoming soon i prommy) and possibly even shipped off to adam in mistral. how would THAT have gone down

hbomberguy has done irreparable fucking damage to RWBY. I really, really try to be better than the ‘critics’ and not hate on individual people, but when someone deliberately attempts to destroy the fanbase of a show out of spite, using blatantly, verifiably false and misleading information, and almost succeeds, I get a bit pissed.

That video is a major reason that the future of the show is uncertain, because one guy decided he didn’t like it.

Please, don’t believe everything you see on the internet, and give RWBY a chance.

There's a problem with how many who express frustration with the RWDE or overblown RWBY hate in general are countered with "it's just their opinion, bro" from a textbook centrist.

Yeah, from the outside looking in, it does seem like we can't look the other way when some people just aren't jiving with our thing. Thing is that when we do look the other way, there's more just making RWBY their own personal punching bag.

Furthermore, just as anyone has the right to make their dislike for RWBY everyone else's problem, others have the right to say, "Hey, this feels really fucked up and here's why."

Yet we're the ones who gotta suck it up like a sponge whether we back up our arguments or not. Because apparently when we don't, we're fanatics who can't take criticism of our favorite show.

Like... sure. Way back when the RWDE was created because there were fans who liked RWBY but would overreact to negativity towards their faves. The tag naturally sprouted from there.

Except that things aren't like that now. Rarely anybody in the FNDM stirs crap up that hasn't been started by the RWDE or somebody overreacting to RWBY. And even when the FNDM does get out of line, the RWDE seems to overlook their own transgressions and hypocrisies.

This has been reiterated a thousand times but it's unfair to Ruby to prescribe her all those utmost positive, goodest, purest traits because the writers seem to have forgotten that she's supposed to be a human being not a cardboard cutout indisputably acting in accordance to what she's normally "supposed" to be like and thus should be allowed to get vicious and vengeful for once, especially if the cruel circumstances have been pushing her mental health to that point. Let Ruby get those negative emotions out. Let Ruby have a long term grudge against Cinder, Mercury, Emerald. Let Ruby shove Jaune against the ground and give him a reality check, rubbing it in his face that he's no hero, nor "the only one" who could do it as he delluded himself to think, he's the murderer of her friend.

Not gonna lie to you, I was on that rabid sports fan shit when Ruby FINALLY got to go off on her neglectful ass friends and sister in V9 because my god she needed that. An entire kingdom collapsed because of her bad decisions and hubris, her uncle is still missing the last she saw him, the rest of her friends are stranded in a Grimm-infested desert and HER BEST FRIEND WAS MURDERED AGAIN. Let Ruby be angry and sad and human for once ffs.

I hate that, once again, Jaune's anger and misery were prioritized while Ruby's was demonized. He got to be embraced and coddled by his friends while Ruby was cast out and treated like a threat by fucking everyone around her as if she were a nuisance. I went from being angry at her to just feeling bad, because she's not even a character, let alone the protagonist when the writers don't give a damn about how she feels after a catastrophe.

What angers me just as much as Yang's behaviors is Blake's behaviour towards Ruby's breakdown. Girly that "I've always looked up to you Ruby" in volume 8 was for nothing?

Disclaimer: this is just my opinion, and it's not about any single fic. It's something I've seen far more than once. I'm also not saying that if it appears in your fic that means I think it's a no good terrible bad fic. Not at all, I've enjoyed fics where this happens. It's also a minor thing.

I just find it a bit unlikely when Blake beats Yang in an unarmed sparring match. I can see that happening if Yang's distracted, but I do think Blake should be equally distracted in such situations. These are Bumbleby fics after all, and it tends to be the sort of distraction where it's because Yang's horny. Ace!Blake is of course valid, but she hasn't been like that in these stories. Blake ends up on top of Yang and they both enjoy that. I get it, that's fun, and of course valid.

But the unlikely part is this: Blake is beating Yang at what Yang is best at. I'd have the same problem if Yang beat Blake in a sword fight. This is presuming they both have their canon fighting specialities. While Yang does usually fight with Ember Celica, her fighting style involves a lot of punching and some kicking. She'd have no problems adapting to fighting unarmed, although it would be a bit inconvenient for her when she needs to close distance fast or dodge, when she'd normally use the recoil from her shotgun gauntlets.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if a Yang raised by Raven had a sword fight with Blake, presuming Raven also trained Yang to fight primarily with a sword. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a fic out there with something like it.
