The Blob, along with Svenzaldo Zambooba, Tex, and Stetcho, were introduced in X-Men 3, cover date January 1964. They were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. In the early days of the X-Men, they went to recrute a new mutant to the team, but to their shock, he didn't want to join. This was before Professor Xavier had any qualms erasing people's memories, so Professor X erased both the Blob's and the Circus he attacked the school with memories. ("Beware of the Blob," X-Men 3, Marvel Comic Event)

Heavy Mole!
Well they sure look heavy! Heavy Mole is the boss of Yogurt Yard, and is one of the last few bosses in Kirby's Adventure. They're quite unique in comparison to the game's other bosses, as the entire fight is an autoscroller, meaning the screen is always moving. If Kirby doesn't keep up, he might end up getting crushed by the terrain. The reason it's an autoscroller is because the fight takes place underground, and Heavy Mole is busy digging through the dirt with it's giant saws while Kirby chases behind it. It's not completely defenseless though, as a hatch on it's backside can deploy enemies known as Drill Balls. They come in two variants that give different Copy Abilities, and I'll go more into them when I draw them next! I quite like Heavy Mole's design, it's super unique and weird. It has a lot of moving parts, and they don't all quite seem necessary or productive in any way. Heavy Mole hasn't seen any major appearances outside of Adventure, only a few cameos, as well as appearing as an opponent in Kirby's Avalanche, like most of the bosses that existed at the time. Two actual mole bosses, Moley and his wife Mrs. Moley, reference Heavy Mole by pulling out it's red saw blade and throwing it at Kirby. Also, a boss introduced in Kirby Super Star, named Heavy Lobster, bears some resemblance to Heavy Mole, with similar golden coloration, as well as being a giant robot named after an animal. Like with all Kirby bosses that haven't appeared in a while, I look forward to when HAL brings this guy back! It's inevitable, anyways.
